Slim. Slim, what's up dude?
How you doing, man? I'm.
Doing alright and yourself. I'm dude, I'm chilling having a
good day. How's your how's your summer so
far man? How's my summer?
I work for Universe Studios, so yeah.
He work at Universal. Yeah, we do out there, man, I.
Work at burger digs. We're we're at burger digs.
Dude, I used to work at Universal.
I was on the, I was on the opening team for Harry Potter.

(02:23):
Did you really? Yeah, by Forbidden Journey.
Oh, yeah, OK, yeah. So I'm, I'm food and beverage
for now. Like, you know, I, I enjoy it,
you know, seeing different people, you know, like people
from Brazil, you know, Uki love it.
So is this, is this like your, is this your first like theme
park job or have you worked likeany other theme parks?
I worked at the theme parks before.
Did you work for the mouse? What's the mouse I never heard

(02:43):
of? That, yeah, you know, there's a
place where it's like a Bay castle and people usually call
him the mouse or call him a rat,I mean.
No, I never heard of that, but Ihave worked for, I have worked
for Fun Spot and I've worked forSeaWorld.
Fun spot, dude. Yeah, what'd you do there?
I was a ride attendant. Same here man.
What, When? When, What year?
I was a ride attendant. Oh, and I was like in in the

(03:05):
2022. OK.
So I was in 20, 920. OK, it's been long. 2014, 2015,
That's when I was working on a fun spot.
OK, yeah, I wasn't here at the time.
Dude, I mean everything has changed a lot.
It has. It really has.
These you could all say you worked at SeaWorld too.
I worked at SeaWorld, yeah. Let me guess, rides or foods?
Food and beverage. Did you like it or do you hate

(03:25):
it out there for foods? I enjoyed it because, you know,
I get to see different people. Like, you know, I'm a people
person, so I just love talking to different strangers.
I love communicating. So, you know, like working at
SeaWorld and then moving over toUniversal Studios.
You know, I enjoyed it as long as I get to be outside well.
This is why you part of Florida theme park podcast, man.
So we talk about the theme parksare in Florida like no, but
like, see, that is why I like about talking to, you know,

(03:46):
different cast members and people who actually used to work
for the theme parks, which we know like what the we're talking
about because we had we had those complaints, we had those
compliments. We we know.
We know what it's like to work in the heat in the theme park.
Oh, the heat don't bother me. How does it not bother you?
It don't bother me because I wasborn.
I'm born in July. I'm a July, I'm a summer baby.
You're a summer baby, dude. I have a I'm an area.

(04:08):
I'm an Aries guy, so I was born in a so I mean, I mean the the
whole seasons don't match up. But you know, it's I hate the
heat here. I hate it so much man.
It can't be, it can't be like quite overly dramatic, right?
Right. You will get irritated.
Like I see that all the time at Universal Studio at the park.
You know, like I enjoy being there, but you know, like when I
see people as a progress, we're like, oh, y'all must be hot.

(04:30):
And they're like, yeah, how? Many fights have you seen so
far? I have not seen any fights you.
Haven't seen any fights at Universal, like none.
No, it's it's incredible and I love it.
Let's keep it that way. You know, people, only time I
see people fighting this, fighting for water, like, where
is this nearest soda machine forwater?
You know, like, is the water free?
Yeah, most definitely. Just push the button in the
middle. Just push it right there.
It says just don't worry about it.
Yeah, I did. I, I picked up one shift.

(04:53):
I picked up one shift at Donald Dicks and it was back in 2000
and was it 2009? That's when I, that's when like
I was actually part of the universal team and my buddy, he
goes, hey, why don't you work, work with us for one shift?
I'm like OK, I can do that because my attraction at the
time was full so I was able to pick up shifts like infinite
beverages, wardrobe or wherever it was open and Download Eggs

(05:15):
was open. Only thing I did was I was
cashier the entire day. Really.
That was it. I'm just busting tables.
That's it. Either I'm busting tables or I'm
filling up the condiments, or I'm doing the soda machines.
That's it. Long as I have to get this bee
outside and communicate right, Make the guests laugh, that's
all that matters. Let me ask you this, since you
are a comedian, have you ever thought about maybe switching
your role at universal? Like getting into like the

(05:35):
acting part or become becoming acharacter for for the company or
what's your mindset? That's funny that you say that
because I love, I love what I do, but you know, a lot of
people always tell me to say like, you should go to
entertainment and that's what I want to do.
Like I tried it with SeaWorld, you know, I didn't know how to
audition for it. So I said, OK, I'll just after I
went viral at SeaWorld, you know, and then I went to

(05:57):
Universal Studios and like, you know, there's, it's not hard
doing the auditions, you know, it's just how, you know, like
when it comes like, you know, you don't even know how to catch
it. You know, they tell you
something. Just go on the website.
You know, I'll be like, oh, OK, I go on the website, you know,
like it shows some available andnot available.
But you know, like, you know, doing the acting is what I
really want to do, right? I love being in front of people.

(06:18):
You know, like I was looking at the character, like I was like,
who's doing Donkey's voice? Like who's behind there?
Who's doing like I want to do that?
So I can actually say, I can actually say his name because he
actually is still working in reversal.
But he actually dropped down doing Donkey's voice.
My good friend Jane, he, he did the voice of Donkey at
Universal. Really.
Yeah, I love that. Yeah, I was like, I wanna do

(06:40):
that. You know, I would ask the team
members. I say like, how do I get into
this? That's how we say things.
Go on the website, Go on the website.
You know, I try to. The way I would do it, just go
up to HR, talk to people in there and like, hey, I'm gonna
audition for this party. If there's any auditions
available, let me know. And we're like, oh, we actually
have an audition right now. Cool.
I'll be, I'll be there. I'll I'll be there in 10
minutes. Cool.
Like by being Bada. Boom.
So from his process to do Donkey's Boys, he did a

(07:04):
imitation of Eddie Murphy. So he did that and that's how he
got the role of Donkey at Universal.
So that's amazing. So I tell him once I go like,
OK, I can dress up one of those costumes and I can do that.
You know, I'm 6 too. You're.
Tall dude, you're tall and I'm and I'm only 5-7 so.
Yeah, I'll tell. I when I saw King Julian I was
like hey, I was like y'all should have me be King Julian.

(07:26):
Do you see me? Like do you see do?
You see how tall King Julian is at Universal?
Yeah. I could wear that costume.
He's. Short.
He's short, but I can wear. It you mean you be the tallest
King Julian on property Man that.
Would be amazing, you know, likethat would be amazing.
Like the tallest key, Julian. You know, like I make Michael
Jordan look good. Oh my gosh, yeah.
I could definitely do that, you know, I told him.

(07:46):
I said, just dress me up a key, Julian.
I could be like Snoop Dogg and Crip walk out.
Oh my gosh, you know, let. Me do that.
To do it, you know, since we're staying on the topic of the
theme parks real quick, when wasthe last time you actually went
to Universal, like on your day off from work and just walk
around, you know, the theme park?
Oh, wow, that was, that was two years ago, like because when I,

(08:08):
when I first started working at Universe Studios and they said
long as you have this, you can get in the park for free.
I'm like really? So of course I took that.
I took advantage of that, you know, like any other black
person would. We take advantage of that.
We use like our food stamp car. Well, we get in there like, you
know, like 50% off like, yeah, I'll take that too, you know,
like I enjoyed it, you know, like getting on the roller

(08:29):
coasters. I'm a coaster fanatic, you know.
Like how many times, how many times I've been on the have you
been on Velocicoaster? More than once.
You love it, I. Love it.
You know like being on Get on the Velocicoaster.
What I love about it the most isthat I put put my 6, put my 67
year old on that on that ride. What?
Yeah, she wanted to ride it. You know she may have passed
out, but I got the deed to the house though you.
Know, Oh my God, wow, dude, I just, but what was your, what

(08:52):
was your experience? It's like, you know, actually
going on Velocicoaster for the very first time, like did you
know that it was going to hit that, that top hat when you
first went like 70 mph and you start like flipping out, you got
scared a little bit. What happened dude?
OK, so here's the thing. My friend Chris, he's like a
brother to me. He put me on to the

(09:13):
Velocicoaster and it was me, a good friend of mine named
DeMarcus. He put both of us on that ride.
And then I like, you know, I sawit from a distance and like
getting up closer to it. I'm like, oh, this what this
ride does? And he says, like, oh, so you
ready for this? I'm like, let's do it.
I love a challenge. So when we got on it, that first
takeoff took me out, you know, like, then the second takeoff,
I'm like, what the heck, You know, I wasn't ready for all

(09:34):
that, but you know, like I wanted to ride it again.
But the sad part about riding roller coasters that you got
that, you know, most people don't want to ride it because
they scare the heights. You know, like you get like,
take us for instance, like a lotof black people, we, we down to
ride roller coaster. But when it come to like, you
know, like we like we down to doeverything else.
But when it come to like roller coasters and Halloween, now
we're not going for it. You know, we're not going for
it. Like, don't matter what it is,
we can see. We can go.

(09:54):
We can go to Halloween Horror Nights this year.
You could be a Texas Chainsaw Massacre, about 15 games to be
like, yeah, I ain't going in there.
But all right, who going to punch first?
Who going to punch first? Let's see.
Is it popping out of corn? Sorry, you're gone.
That's it. Yeah.
You can't tell me. Like not one of them is carrying
the burn on their pocket. That's true.
That's true. Yeah.
Have you been to, have you been to Halloween Horror Nights?
I. Love it.
I love Halloween. I love Halloween.

(10:15):
It's like my it's like one of myfavorite, my favorite season of
all. And plus, I go to this
convention every year, but sadly, I'm not even, I'm not
able to go this year because my,if she goes, you might need to
cut back on going to, to these conventions.
I'm like, I'm just going there for a few hours goes OK, but you
got bills to pay too. I'm like, all right, all right,
I'll, I'll just, I'll just hold back the, the convention I'm
talking about. It's called Spooky Empire.

(10:37):
Never heard of it. So it's a big horror convention.
They bring out all the actors from all the top scary movies.
They bring out all the creative people from Universal to come
out to this convention and talk about Halloween Horror nights.
Really. Yeah, I never heard of it.
Dude, you got you got to look itup.
It's like perfect, perfect. It's an awesome, awesome horror
convention. They're here.

(10:57):
They're usually here like in May, but they're their next
convention is in June and I'm sorry, this month and October,
OK, which October is like their blowout, you know, convention.
So I mean, they pack it in. They're bringing like over 3 to
5000 people at this convention. I would say like the the actual
first time I went to Halloween Horror Nights, you know, I

(11:19):
enjoyed it. It was very fun.
And then I went with my friends, you know, like when I was
working studios 2 years back, like it was a team member
preview and it was me, my coworkers, and a friend of mine.
His name is Charles. We call him Romy.
Of course, you know, like I, youknow, like you never, you never
expected, like I always expect the unexpected.
But that was that first night that I actually seen a drag

(11:40):
queen running high, snake heel boots, You know, I I enjoyed it.
And I was like, Romy's taking off.
We were in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
I fell on both hands and knees. And I just saw how he was like
clicking around the corner. I'm like, he's gone.
He's not here. OK.
Is he left me? Where did he go?
Where did he go? Yeah, 'cause ain't the first
time he left me. Like, 'cause we feel like it was

(12:01):
another haunted house that we went to.
Like instead of going to Halloween Horror Nights, we went
to this place called the HauntedTrail.
I've heard about that, yeah. It's amazing.
Oh my God, you should we go We're going this year again.
Like it was really fun and. This is why I have days off in
October. Yeah, 'cause I wanna do all
those, all those fun stuff in October.
You have to Besides, you know, Halloween, Horror Nights,
Hallow, Scream, Petrified, Petrified Forest.

(12:22):
Yeah. Sir Henry's Haunted Trail.
There's a lot of cool haunts here to do in Florida that
nobody has ever done. Yeah, they can do the You Do a
Ghost tour on Church St. I've never heard of that.
Yeah, so did like a whole like they take like behind the
scenes, like basic history, learn about the history, about
Church Street, and then it's actually Ghost Tour.
Wow. It's pretty cool to check out.

(12:43):
Wow OK so I will have to check that out but the haunted trailer
we went to it was a Timmy's cornfield and so apparently
Timmy was haunting the cornfieldbut however Romy on the other
hand, my good friend I paid for these tickets, he decides to
leave me high and dry because. Geez.
Someone was chasing us, saying if I were you, I'd leave.
Timmy's coming. If I were you, my God.

(13:04):
And you're wearing my boots. You're wearing my sweatshirt.
Seriously. And you take off running on me.
Like seriously, The only thing Isee was a wig just hitting
around the corner. Like I saw those snakeskin
boots. Oh my gosh.
You just take off running leave.I like, but he came back for me.
I wasn't expecting how? How long did it take him to come
back and get you? That's a question.
How long did he come? Like notice?
You know what? Let me, let me go get him.

(13:27):
I don't know what it's for him to click in.
Only thing I was just, I was just standing there in the dark
in the high cornfield, standing next to a scare actor, just just
repeating over and over chanting.
He left me. Gee, he left me.
A friend, man he. Left me and then like before you
know it, he clicks back and comeback and grabs me by the hand
and comes get me. No, I'm holding this grudge.
To hold it, dude. Hold it.
Like he's like, hey, next time, next time you ask me for tickets

(13:48):
to Universal, I'm gonna say no. Yeah.
Yeah. Like, no.
Yeah, I'm good. Exactly.
All right. Now, here's a question.
Most Yeah. Did you go to Epic Universe?
Oh my God, yes, yes I did. I did go to Epic.
Well, what was what was that like, man?
Oh my God, you would love it. Like I would say as soon as you
walk into the park, like you, you're looking at all four
worlds. You're looking at Mario.

(14:10):
Like you're looking at Dark Universe, you're looking at
Harry Potter and how to train a dragon.
You're looking at all those 4 worlds.
And like, mostly you're gonna feel like the biggest kid.
The big The Inner Kid comes out when you walk into Mario.
Yeah. Yeah, the Inner Kid comes out
when you walk into Mario, you'rewalking in right into the game.
I saw. I saw the photos, I saw all the
videos, and I'm like, Universal, what made you do this?

(14:31):
Like, what made you do, you know, to build our very own
Super Nintendo world, which it'salso in California and also in
Japan too. So I guess it makes sense to
have it here in Florida. Why not?
Yeah, like I would say my favorite, the part about Epic is
the Stardust Racer. OK.
Is it better than Velocicoaster or is it about or is it about
the same I? Would say it's about the same

(14:52):
like people, some people say that Velocicoaster is better.
Just think about it having 2-2 roller coasters like you know,
it's like a, it's like they're basically racing right?
And like you know, you're seeingyour friends on one side and
you're on the other side and y'all racing like y'all
colliding together like it's like 2 like two birds, like you
know, playing like as if they'rein love.
That's how those roller coastersare riding like it's amazing.

(15:12):
But however I would say, you know, Velocity Coaster, it still
takes the cake. It does.
I mean, it's like, it's like thenumber one coaster in Florida.
But now Velocico is going head to head with Stardust Racers for
multiple awards. And yes, Stardust Racer is a
brand new roller coaster. But The thing is, what's cool
about that ride is what I saw onone photo on the back of the the

(15:33):
coaster is the flux capacitor. So it gives an homage to Back to
the Future. Yeah.
But what I think is I think Stardust Racer is also an homage
to blowing Dragons. Dragons Challenge when we had it
at Azza Adventure. That wasn't around when that was
up, really. I was in Cincinnati still.
OK, so you so if I were you man,you will you would have loved

(15:54):
this coaster. It's it's a dueling coaster and
they go head to head at the sametime.
See, I I heard about it, I heardstories about it.
I think I was in Cincinnati or still in Jacksonville, but most
likely I was in Cincinnati. I remember when to back to epic
when I had took my friends when I was family and friends preview
right brought my friends with me.
I was they were the biggest kids.

(16:15):
That's cool, yeah. The biggest kids I've seen, and
you know, like most, like you know, the kid is sometimes don't
come out of us that much unless we're at a place where we can
actually be ourselves. But I've actually seen the kid
come out of every last one of them.
Did you guys go did you guys go on a monsters Unchained?
Yes, we did. I heard that was I heard that
right is unreal with all the newmonsters animatronics.

(16:37):
I mean the first the first pre show you walk in you see the
giant Frankenstein animatronic. Yeah, holy cow.
When I when I did that right, like I was, I was a girl.
You were scared. I was a female.
Yeah. You know, every guy has a female
in him. No, that was.
True. Yeah.
I mean, I mean, it all depends on me and certain coasters.
I'm like, I'm gonna cry a littlebit on this ride, OK?

(16:58):
Yeah, like every guy has a female there.
Like, you know, like, like I said earlier, I expect the
unexpected. So some of those surprises were
very unexpected. So of course, you know, like I
can't swing. Let's have to sit there.
Let's got to sit there and just watch and look at it.
And once the rise over, I take that deep breath.
Let's go, Let's go on again. Yeah, let's do it again.
Heck yeah. Just like when I rode the
Velocity coaster, when I rode the the Stardust Racer, when I

(17:20):
rode the the werewolf ride, I said let's do it again.
You know, like I, I enjoy going to theme parks.
I love going to places with people who love to do these
things like I do. You see, This is why when I have
family in town and they asked me, hey, can you get a ticket or
can you get can somebody get youinto a park?
I'm like, I could let me see if I make a couple phone calls and
see what y'all can do because they want me as their tour guide

(17:41):
so I can show them around like how to plan their plan their
day, do a properly and save them, save them a little money
so they're not spending over 300four, $100 on at the end of the
day. Oh my God.
Yeah, So, but I mean, my wife and I, we just renewed our
annual passes to Disney. So oh, good.
And so we, we, she got it on ouranniversary.
And I'm like, she's like, you have a choice.
Do you want a ticket? Do you want an annual pass to

(18:02):
Disney or do you want to pass toUniversal?
I'm like, honey, can we try to get both?
He goes, no, you gotta choose one.
I'm like, OK, let's go to Disney.
So Disney. I chose Disney.
You chose Disney. I chose Disney over Slytherins.
Yeah, I know. Really.
I know. We're Hufflepuffs and Griffin
Doors and Ravenclaws. I know, I know dude, I know.
But you know what I got? I can go back to universal

(18:25):
anytime I want. So like.
Everybody's fancy. They love Goofy.
Make all the Disney characters OK.
Walt, this is universal. But I know.
I understand. OK, You see what she had to do.
So she, she actually got a ticket, she got 2 tickets to to
Universal. We went a couple weeks ago and
as soon as I walked in, I'm like, this brings back so much

(18:45):
memories. But Dang, I never want to work
back at a theme park ever again. So I'm like, I'm, I'm done with
the theme parks. I just want to enjoy it while I
can just go out there as a guest, hang out.
If I see and my friends out there, I'll hang out with them
for a little bit and then just enjoy the rest of the day.
Oh yeah, that's how I be. Yeah, I'm 34 years old.
I'll be 35. I don't care.
I'm 36 dude, so I'm. Still a big kid.
Exactly. Yeah, I don't care.

(19:06):
I will. Let me tell you, I will beat my
kids to the Christmas tree before they get to it.
Exactly. Yeah, I.
Still, I mean, I mean, if you have to go ahead and set some
home alone traps and be like, yeah, hey, you wanna try, wanna
go to that tree? OK, here goes a paint can right
here. Yeah, yeah, I have two, two
little girls I promise you I will take.
My that you spoil the crap out of them.
Oh my God. Like, seriously, it's like when

(19:28):
they first heard about the stimulus check, they just like,
they feel like just because I got money, we got money.
You know, they just asked me straight up.
Like, you know, they asked me. They was like, hey, so we were
watching CNN and it's just true about the stimulus, you know,
like they heard about the day it's gonna drop.
They just asked me. You got it or no?
Maybe maybe that that's the answer to all the kids.
Just say maybe, yeah. And then be like, OK, we we got
it. Not a problem.

(19:49):
I tell my kids all the time, if you want to, if you, if you want
to make as much, if you want to get this money, OK, you got to
ride the roller coasters. Let's do it.
Yeah. Let's go.
I'm down. Yeah.
But they don't want to do it. Oh my God.
Alright, so let's talk about stop up some comedy for a little
bit. So what?
So what got you into, you know, doing doing comedy here in
Florida? What was your what was your very
first open mic? My very first open mic is when I

(20:12):
was in Jackson. OK.
I was in Jacksonville. It was 2018.
I was in Jacksonville and it wasmy first time.
It was called the All Shucks bar.
Never forget it. And it was this woman The Who
was claiming to represent me. But it was my very first time.
I had, you know, like as much asI love being out in the crowd,
you know, like it was my first challenge, you know, speaking
into a microphone this time for everyone to hear me, you know,

(20:33):
so that was a challenge. But what got me into comedy?
It was my mom, you know, my mother got me into it.
Like, you know, back, back in those days of Def Comedy Jam,
the Kings, the comedy Queens, the comedy, it was all her, you
know, like it's not like she wastelling me saying like, I want
you to do this. She introduced it to me.
He like I would see her watch it.
And now I'm watching it, right. You know, so like I'm an I'm

(20:53):
like a, I'm a six year old kid, you know, like in the projects,
you know, my mom watching Def Comedy Jam, you know, like back
then we didn't have cable. We just had regular TV, you
know, with the antenna on the box with aluminum foil.
Let's see channel Channel 3 was your, was your, was your real
game channel. We had ECW, you know.
Oh. My God, yeah.
Back then when the when the ringwas Gray and black, when they

(21:15):
used to throw tissue into the ring.
Oh my God, I remember that. Holy cow.
Yeah, yeah, Heck yeah. Throwback.
There we go. Most.
Definitely. Like you know, when you turn the
channel on the TV still fuzzy. You gotta find the right
channel, you know, Captain Planet and all that.
You got to smack around a littlebit, like, come on, show me,
show me the picture, show me thepicture.
Come on. So I grew up watching Martin and
the nutty Professor Grace Doubtfire.

(21:36):
Yeah, Latin Robin Williams. Classic.
Yeah, you know, back to Robin Williams again, Mrs. Doubtfire.
Then it came to Jim Carrey watching the mask.
Liar, liar. Yeah, liar, liar.
But like I was hooked on those. I was hooked as a young kid.
So like, imagine an 8 year old taking all this to school, class
clown, get into trouble, but then go home, face the

(21:57):
consequences. And the exact same teachers that
snitched on me are the same onesasking me to do what I did that
last week. Oh my gosh, you comedian hit.
Got a whooping cause of y'all and you're asking me for the for
the your your comedian hypocrites.
You didn't. You should bargain your teacher
like hey, if I do this you give me straight A's for the rest of
semester. How does that sound?

(22:17):
I actually, you know. You did not, did you?
No. See, Ashley, I actually got to
teach you like that. It was in my Wood architect
class. Oh my gosh.
And we had to build a clock. My stepdad was helping me build
it. And so it came together, but not
the way I wanted it to. So I made a little threat, OK.

(22:38):
And the threat. And like, you know, he wanted to
give me a C minus and it was my my junior high school passing on
year. You know, I was like, I was
moving to high school. I was in junior high.
So my last day, you know, he I was about to give me, he's going
to give me AC minus. And I looked at him and I said,
you flunk me. You get me next semester.
He gave me AB plus. He's like, screw it here, here's

(23:00):
your B. Just Gamma class go go away.
He just looked at my he yeah, Helooked at my clock.
He was like, you gotta be kidding me.
He's like, are you serious? I said you flunk me, you get me
next semester. He gave me AB.
Plus my mom was like, how'd you do it?
I was like, yeah, it was good. I don't know how I did it, but I
did it. Mom, don't worry about it was a
it was a student teacher conversation.
Just don't worry about it. We had our own conference, so
don't worry about it. Done deal.

(23:20):
I passed it so it's all good. I've been doing like, ever since
I did comedy. I was hooked.
You know, I, I, I loved it. I enjoyed it.
Then I went to then I got in Jacksonville.
I performed on the stage at the Apollo Theater in Jacksonville,
FL and it was nothing like New York, right?
I was going to go there and so Ihad to sign up and they actually
allowed them to Boo you off stage.
I performed there three times. I have got not one Boo at all

(23:44):
but my the fourth time I performed I did say 4 times
right? Yeah, you did?
Yeah. OK my 4th time I performed it
was one guy. He was being like I love my
hecklers. I love when people Heckle me
while I'm on stage. Why?
I mean, I hate when people do that.
You know, you're watching. You're watching somebody to be
watching somebody to be creative.
I mean, this is all about you guys being creative with your
work. Yeah.

(24:04):
I hate when people are interrupting the comedian.
I love it because like, let me tell you something here as a
comedian and we take the and like we take this very seriously
and it's up to you as a Heckler. You take it with a grain of
salt, eat it and swallow or you don't like it at all and spit it
out and leave. That's true.
So here's what you do. Your mission is to sit there,
listen, laugh or don't laugh, but you come for us.

(24:25):
We're going to call you out the way we see you.
And that's just it. So a guy called himself trying
to Boo me off stage because there was a, because I forgot
what the punchline was. It some about old days getting
in trouble. So he took the liberty to say
Boo. Nobody else did it, but he did
it. And so I called out and said,
wow, he waited 20 years to get out of prison just to say that.
Wow. Shut him down.
Whoa, shut him down right after that.

(24:48):
So that right after that, that was it.
Like, you know, don't do that. You know, like don't do that.
Like, unless we, like, pick on you first.
Like, just know we're just playing.
Yeah, if you come for us, we're gonna call you out.
Like we see you and don't you get mad?
See This is why when I go to my friends comedy shows, yeah they
pick me like round the spot because I know how to take their
jokes. I know how to bring back a joke

(25:08):
I guess. I guess throw, throw it back in
their face because they know me that well, they know how they
know how well I can take their jokes.
But when it gets to a certain point, they'll pull me to the
side like, hey, are you cool? I didn't mean to offend you or
anything. I'm like, dude, that joke was
funny as hell. Yeah, I'm not mad.
I'm not mad at all. I just, I just know how to take
it. That's the thing, man.
Yeah, we're gonna have some. Yeah.
We're gonna like, you know, we're gonna have our bombing

(25:29):
nights, you know, like, like there are sometimes like where
I'm going to open mic and I was extremely exhausted.
I was tired, you know, like you gotta be there.
Like, you know, you're gonna do open mic.
You know they do the 1234 through 12 or 14.
You know, like I try to be like #4.
That's why you have to get thereearly to sign up.
So you're like, did I make the list?
Did I make it? Can I do my material?
Can I not do my material? What more, what more stuff can I

(25:51):
do? You know?
But The thing is that when they pick you to do your, to do stand
up for the mic, you better be ready.
Like yeah, be ready to go to handle to handle.
It you got 5 minutes on stage, make it count.
All right, so here's here's my next question.
So besides, you know, comedy andeverything else now people have
said that you, you told me that your comedy influence was, you

(26:12):
know, the kings of comedy. You know, besides that, my dad,
he actually got me into watchingthe kings, Kings of Comedy.
Yeah, because my dad, he was a huge, he was a huge fan of
Bernie Mac. Oh, yes, definitely, definitely.
So that's why I started watchinglike all the comedies like
Bernie Mac. And then I watched who?
Who else did I follow? George Carlin.

(26:32):
George Carlin. OK.
One of my one of my favorite comedians gotcha of all time is
George is George Carlin. I, I take it all the way back to
like not only just to the, to the original kings of comedy,
but also I did a little more research.
So like I remember I was watching The Golden Girls.
The Golden Girls. It was my mom.
She. The Golden Girls.

(26:53):
Betty White. Let's go.
Yeah, Betty White, absolutely. She was the reason why I watched
it you know, like cuz I couldn'twait to hear her talk about back
in Saint Olaf. Oh my God, jeez.
Like I loved it. Like you know, so it was 1
episode in the title of the showcalled You Gotta Have Hope.
And it was a episode of this other comedian.

(27:15):
His name was Bob Hope. Bob Hope, yeah.
And I did my research on him. I was like, oh, he was a
comedian, OK. And then took it back even
further. Like, I remember this movie my
mom showed us. It was me, my mom.
And we were a family, you know, like my stepdad.
And we were all in the room watching Dennis the Menace.
Dennis the Menace Strikes again, and Don Rickles was in that

(27:36):
movie. OK.
Yeah, OK. And I was curious to do my
demise on who this guy was as a kid.
And turned out I was like, he was a comedian too.
Don Rickles, yeah. I looked him up and I was like,
OK, so his punchline was, I'll tell you this.
Yeah. And I'll go like, OK, I love
that. Now here's a here's a Disney
trivia question. OK, who did?
Don Rickles voiced. Oh, who did who?
This is a potato. Head.

(27:56):
There you go. There you go.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I tell you. Like when I get curious about
these voices, I do my research. I get into it.
Like when I found out that Ellen.
Ellen DeGeneres. Did Dory?
Yeah, she was. Dory, I was curious, you know,
like it took me years to find. Like, not took me years, but
like, to find out who's the voice of Mushu Eddie Murphy.
Yeah. Like I was like, this is what I

(28:18):
see myself doing. I swear they make another remake
of Mulan and they don't cast Eddie Murphy as a live action
Mushu. Yeah, I'm gonna be pissed.
We're gonna be we're gonna riot.I'm.
Gonna be really pissed off like you got.
You guys are missing out. Eddie Murphy as Mushu.
Yeah, what the hell? Exactly right.
Like, I was hooked. Like, you know, as a young kid,

(28:40):
you know, before we found out about Quiet on the Set.
I, I grew up on watching Nickelodeon.
I was like I want to be on this. That was a rough documentary.
Yeah, I was. That was rough.
I want to be on Nickelodeon. I want to slimed no Diddy.
And and and yet, and yet Nicola was filmed here in Florida.
It's we had our own studio. It's called Nickelodeon Studios.
We had it here in Florida. It was filmed.

(29:03):
We that studio film all that. Keenan Kell.
Yes. Slime time, live guts.
Are you afraid of the dark? Yeah.
I mean, the list just goes on and on and on about what live
shows were taping at Universal during during the time when
Nickelodeon Studios was part of the Universal Studios theme
park. And I'm from Cincinnati, OH, and

(29:24):
we represented Nickelodeon. We had a this a theme park
called Kings Island. Like, so one side for the
adults, of course, all ages. And the other side was
Nickelodeon. And I was like, and like, you
know, they had characters dressed up as some of the
Nickelodeon stars like Angelica, and they had Nickelodeon rides.
I was like, after being gone forso long, you're surprised all
that's taken now it's been transitioned to Kid Snoopy.

(29:46):
Like, I like Snoopy, but he doesn't say a word.
I like Nickelodeon, but growing up I was a Cartoon Network kid.
Carton Dashers laboratory? Heck yeah.
Power puff girls. I had a crush on Buttercup.
Crush on butter. Yeah, she I'm Buttercup.
Really. She could beat the hell out of
me and check my phone any day. I'm the prettiest girl at the
party. Yeah, yeah, Bubbles, she's too.
She's too easy. Yeah.
You know, I just drop a couple of roofies in her drink and

(30:07):
then. That's it.
Oh my gosh. I mean, that was a good bubble.
That was a good bubbles for me. But that's only, that's the only
voice I can do. Yeah, except for Elmo, I mean.
I love Dee Dee. I had a crush on Dee Dee, too.
Dee Dee? Yeah.
It's like she was she? Was she was a pain in the butt
for Dexter, man, I mean, come on, she was.
She was a character. She was quite a character.

(30:28):
All right, what about Samurai Jack?
Loved it Leave me and my brotherwhen we first heard that theme
song, you know, like being black, you know, we, we, we felt
we just went to we just just vibe into it.
Like thank God they didn't have YouTube back in the day because
I don't have that thing on repeat.
Samurai Jack, bring it on. Let's go.
Heck yeah. Like the grim adventures of
Billy and Man. Great show.

(30:50):
Absolutely like 8 and 80. That show taught me how to
hustle, I mean. I think that's most kids.
That was how we used to hustle back in the day, because I
remember back in middle school, it was me and my buddy Justin.
We had the same class with each other.
Yeah. And we were kind of the hustlers
in the back of the class. We were playing Tonk the entire
time at in the back of the. Back of the room.
I can't even play spades. So when we're, so when we're

(31:11):
playing Tonk, we had it was me, Justin and a couple of our
buddies and we took all the money.
Wow. And they're like, hey, we kind
of want that money back. I'm like, all right, you guys,
you guys wanna play. I'm like, you guys wanna play
for it. I got another game.
Let's play some poker. Wow.
So. What the hell out of those kids?
Yeah, so pretty much I did was Idid.
It was if you won't play, talk with us.
It's a $1.00 two dollar blind. Uh huh.

(31:32):
If you won't play poker, it's $0.25.
Wow, that's it. I remember.
Watching Eddie and Eddie, it wasEddie who was the kingpin.
Double D was my inspiration. Double D.
Because everybody needs a, everybody needs a double D in
their group, True. And everybody needs a dumb one,
Ed. And everybody needs that, Eddie,
you know, always think about themoney.
But I actually took my mother's rings one time and I sold them

(31:53):
for $0.25. Wow.
Got beat the hell out of. I got a whooping but she got her
rings back. I kept my candy.
You You pawned your mom's rings for candy.
You. Know like it was in the
neighborhood. OK, I was in the cul-de-sac.
Yeah, I was in the cul-de-sac. I was, I was out there, you
know? Hustling, hustling, man, you
gotta do. Exactly, until I actually grew

(32:14):
and started cutting grass and like, you know, raking leaves,
making money, shoveling snow. Oh, that had to suck.
Oh my God, tell you being up north, shoveling snow, tripling
like stacking up on your socks. Oh no.
You know, you know, I, it was a lot.
You know, like I shoveled my mom's grass for my mom Grass I
called snow. I shoveled that snow for free.

(32:37):
You know, like I actually, I remember one time I actually
pulled the home alone on my on my mom and it was an accident.
Uh oh, I did not mean to. I shoveled her out the.
What did you do, man? What did you do?
Do? Do I even want?
Do I even want to? Know I actually like OK so I go
outside. I shoveled out the driveway get
the snow off her car, you know, like but there's snow on the but

(32:58):
there's snow on the stairs. Now mind you that day it was
raining ice and water at the same time, so I didn't feel like
shoveling stairs. So I what I did was I took a
bucket of hot water and poured it on those stairs.
That makes it worse. I did not know.
I didn't pass science. I didn't graduate science.
I graduated high school. I mean, I'm, I'm sure we all

(33:20):
graduate high school, but there there's a logic when it comes to
snow and ice. You never put hot water on ice
or snow. Don't do that.
My sight, my calculations weren't in the right mind.
I was just trying to get it done.
So I took that hot water and I poured it on all the stairs and
it LED all the way to the walkway to where?
She was walking. No.

(33:40):
Did you have to get mom to the hospital or what?
She was fine. OK, all right.
She was fine. She got mad and I looked out the
window. I thought like, wow, it worked.
But it wasn't. It wasn't for her.
Let me gather real quick. Nope.
It did not work. I'm mom.
My grounded. Yeah, you're grounded.

(34:01):
Damn. Well, you know that like I was a
jokester as a kid, but that wasn't a joke I'm just trying to
get work done. But however I did pull a home
alone on my brother one time. Oh geez so I actually I was a
prankster as a kid growing up. I I, I pulled 2 jokes on.
I told him I said hey come downstairs I want to show you
something. Now mind you my brother was my
brother was Husky back then. So I took some marbles, right,

(34:23):
and put a board over him and not.
I said, come downstairs in the basement.
I want you to see this. It's gonna be funny.
I said. You go first, you're gonna laugh
when you see it. He took that first step.
He couldn't even catch his weight and.
You know, Oh my God. He got mad and told on me so I
took it a step further and I took his mattress off the bed
and I left him with a bed board.Just the bed board.

(34:45):
Just the bed board. I took his mattress and put it
on mine and left with a bed board like and I put a sheet
over it. You know, I fitted sheet.
The illusion of confusion had him thinking like this is his
mattress. So I said first one jumps on
their bed wins. I let him go first.
Once again, he went face first. I can't.

(35:05):
I can't say anything else. I'm done.
I am done. You got to blame it on the.
MTV shows it was Jackass. Jackass South Park, I mean the
man Show. I mean, what's what's more than
one word for these these damn shows, man.
Do do you remember who you actually who you opened up for,
like for your first comedy show?My first comedy show.

(35:27):
I will I opened up for This is my first time when I actually
was in LA, first time in LA and they told me I would be open up
for a legend from Def Comedy Jam.
Her name was Melanie. Her name is Melanie Camacho.
She's funny as hell dude. I opened up for her in LA and I
was surprised and I was like, she did a Netflix special with
Snoop Dogg and I was like, Oh myGod, like I want to impress her

(35:48):
until like I, I was, I was biting my words, I was messing
up. But I kept on going.
I kept going, but she was like, I opened up, but you like open
it up for her. Like, like I would be just as
shocked if if Steve Harvey askedme to open up for him, right?
Or Bruce. Bruce, like, you know, 'cause
until she actually told me, likeI sat down next to her, you

(36:08):
know, like when the comedy show was over, like, you know, we sat
down at the after party and she told me she said you don't have
to impress me. I said she was like, I'm nobody
important. She says get up there and do
you, you know, like, and that that sat with me and I was like,
OK, but I wanted to impress her.But she loved me.
And I was like, thank you, I loved you too.
That's good. Yeah, I was good.
Yeah. All right.
So for for all of you guys who are listening to us right now
and also viewing us on YouTube, I want to give a shout out to my

(36:30):
good friend Unk, who was in the chat.
Unk, what's up, dude? Thank you so much for chiming
in, man. Glad you're here.
But we are going to go ahead. And before we take off, we're
going to do a brief little interview with Madea.
But here's the thing though, Slim, your video got so many
views at the at MCO at a freaking airport.

(36:51):
Yeah. And you're doing Madea's voice,
dude. Yeah.
Now you now what you told me you're like talk to to the
manager and you're like, hey, can I make a can I just go ahead
and make an announcement? I did this, you know, do do it
was. A team lead that I spoke, Right.
I was coming from Baltimore, so I was in the airport just
sitting and waiting after I had my coffee and my sandwich, I,

(37:12):
when I see a crowd of people just sitting there look bored,
first thing comes to my mind is entertainer.
Yeah, entertainer. Do what you were built to do,
not what you were told to do. That's true.
So I was doing what I was built to do.
So I asked the flight attendant.I said, hey, would it be OK if I
got on the intercom? It's all like Madea.
I was like, I'm a comedian untilshe looked at my social media.
She laughed and said, OK, I wouldn't mind.

(37:34):
She's like, let me ask my boss real quick.
The employer didn't mind. Now she got to ask her boss and
her boss just walked past and said go for it, just do it.
And I was like, really? I said, you said nothing but a
word. So I got on that intercom and it
was lights out from there. And everybody started laughing.
I'm like, holy crap. OK, I need to get this guy on
the podcast. I need to talk to him real
quick. So that's that what got me, you

(37:56):
know, want me to interview you? And I said you're I saw the your
local comedian here in Florida. Yeah, which is perfect.
And I'm like, OK, this guy worksout a theme park.
This this interview is gonna go perfect.
So yeah. And look what look what you told
me. You're at that universal
SeaWorld fun spot. I mean.
Yeah, I I did Madea's voice at SeaWorld also.
Oh my God. Video hit 15.7 million views.

(38:16):
See and ever I like ever. For some reason everybody likes
Madea. Yo I got some questions I want
to ask Madea real quick. Yes.
How can I help you Madea? OK, yes, quick question.
Yes, what? Would you do if somebody is
falling asleep at in church? First off in in the way you're
gonna find me at church because that in my business, you're not
gonna find me up in no church because I'm not going to no

(38:36):
church. If somebody would have found
asleep at church, that's their business.
If they want to find sleep at church, that's on them.
They get a word of God from church.
I'd probably be watching it on TV, YouTube, whatever, but I'm
not stepping up in no church. Madea, yes.
Have you been? Have you been on a roller
coaster before? Yes, I've been in the strip
club. Yes, that was my first roller
coaster. The first time I the first time
I've been in on the roller coaster, it was on the pole.

(38:59):
It was on that pole. I was trying to feed Cora and I
turned and I took that pole and I rolled it down.
I did that helicopter spin on the way down.
You made that money. Yes, I made I made that money.
Yes, I was that at Dennis House.Oh boy, poor, poor Dennis.
I was at Dennis, I was at DennisHouse, I was at PD.
OK, OK, OK. All right.
Sorry, my mistake. Yes, before they discontinued

(39:20):
the baby. Oh.
The baby. Oh, oh, oh, God, yeah.
I'm not going to touch that room, no.
Yes, they discontinued it. Yes, my my label was on it.
The label was on it. Yes, it was slide, slide down
Madea. Slide down Madea.
Slipping slide Madea Slipping slide Madea the baby, yes.

(39:42):
All right, so Madea, yes, now Slim and Madea, I got questions.
I just a rapid questions for youguys.
This is coming from the late James Lipton from inside the
actor studio. OK.
So you guys can switch off you guys would like to, but first
question is you had? Enough conversation with T Slim.
I'm stepping in. I'm fine.
You go All right, take over. Madea.

(40:03):
What's your favorite word? What?
That ass beat the hell out. The children beat the hell out
of heaven as one of them. Don't matter how the.
These new generations of cheering, you got to beat the
hell out of Whoop that ass. Tear that ass up.
It's OK if I say that on here. Go ahead.
OK, I already said it. All the pairs back in the days.
Tear it up. Beat the hell out.
Of What's your least favorite word?
Bills. Yep.
Yes, yes. My least favorite word is bills
ain't nothing. There's not a day goes by when I

(40:25):
open my mail and I see a bill from Netflix.
You know it even though I even though it's a new movie on
there, but you know there's not a day goes by every time I get a
test message from Metro. PCs pays $70.00 for a phone bill
that you know that that I can't.Sorry you ran out of minutes.
So sorry. Ran out of minutes, yes.
I'm going back to the track folk.

(40:45):
Medea, here's my question, And that is what's your favorite
curse word? My favorite curse word, I got no
favorite curse word. All of my favorite curse words,
I got no favors. You know, that's just like God
said, who your favorite child is.
You know, you could, you could be favored, but I got no
favorite curse words. My favorite curse word is damn.
Damn. OK.
All right. You know when when I found out
that when I found out they cut my Social Security off, I said

(41:07):
damn. What sound, sound or noise do
you love? What sound of noise do I love?
I love no type of noise. Keep the noise down here.
I'm trying. I'm trying to sleep in peace.
I'm trying to lay down. There you go.
Try to bust the cap here. All right.
And the last and final question is, like I said, this is coming
from the late James Lipton from inside the Actors Studio, and

(41:27):
that is if heaven, If heaven exists, what do you want to hear
God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
Madea, you ain't got to answer that question.
Shut the hell up. I'm answering anyway.
That what you say? If heaven exists, what do you
want to hear God say when you arrive at the pearly gates?
Hey, I First off, here's how I feel.
You know, God don't like me. God can't stand me here after
all the hell out of there back in my day, strip club and you

(41:49):
