Speaker 1 (00:00):
The world is changing
and time is running out.
This is Renewed Mindsets, wherewe confront biblical truth
head-on no sugarcoating, nocompromise.
We expose false doctrine, reveal fulfilled prophecy and
shine light on the demonicdeception of these last days,
(00:21):
but we also stand firm on thehope of Christ's return, the
call to holiness and the urgencyof true salvation.
It's time to renew your mind, for the time is now.
Let's go, boys.
Hey, welcome to RenewedMindsets, the podcast where we
(00:57):
align our thoughts with the Word.
I know hold on to in thesetimes, finding peace in these
last days.
Now, when we look around at theworld, it's clear that there
are things that show us thatwe're living in times of great
uncertainty.
There's wars, there's rumors ofwars, moral decay, natural
(01:21):
disasters and division, naturaldisasters and division.
It's easy to feel overwhelmed, but as believers, we're not
called to live in fear.
We're called to live in peace, the kind of peace that doesn't
come from the world but from ourSavior, jesus Christ.
In John 16, 33, jesus remindsus I have told you these things
(01:44):
so that in me you may have peaceIn this world.
You will have trouble, but takeheart, I have overcome the
world.
So today, friends, we're goingto explore why peace seems so
hard to find, the biggestspiritual barriers that steal
(02:05):
our peace, biblical truths thathelp us walk in God's peace and
testimonies of people who foundpeace in the middle of trials.
But before we begin, let's pray.
Father, god, I pray that theHoly Spirit will come down upon
every listener to bring peaceand revelation.
(02:26):
Father, speak to us today andhelp us find peace.
Amen.
All right, let's get started.
Let's start with a question whydoes peace seem so hard to find?
Why does peace seem so hard tofind?
I mean, if we're honest, manyof us struggle with restlessness
(02:48):
.
The world is filled withdistractions, bad news,
fear-driven messages.
We wake up, we check our phonesand, before we've even spoken
to God, we've already filled ourminds with anxiety.
But here's the truth Peace isnot the absence of problems,
(03:15):
it's the presence of God.
Yeah, isaiah 26.3 tells us youwill keep in perfect peace those
whose minds are steadfastbecause they trust in you.
The key to peace isn't found ina perfect life.
It's not found in money.
It's not found in security.
It's not found in arelationship.
It's found in where we placeour trust.
If we're looking for peace inmoney or relationships or
(03:37):
success, we're always going tocome up empty.
But if we put our trust inJesus, we'll be unshaken, no
matter what comes.
So how do we begin to walk inthat peace?
So before we talk about how tofind peace, we need to recognize
what's stealing it from us.
The first thing is fear andanxiety.
(04:00):
Fear is one of the enemy'sgreatest weapons against
believers.
Fear is one of the enemy'sgreatest weapons against
believers.
He wants us to be so consumedby what-ifs that we forget who
God is.
Philippians, chapter 4, verses6 and 7, gives us this command
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by
(04:20):
prayer and petition withthanksgiving, present our
worries to God.
So if you've been feelinganxious, ask yourself have I
(04:40):
really surrendered this to theLord?
So then we've got unforgivenessand bitterness.
Another thing that robs us ofour peace is holding on to past
hurts.
Jesus commands us to forgive, not just for the other person
but for our own freedom.
Colossians 3.13 says Bear witheach other and forgive one
(05:05):
another.
If any of you has a grievanceagainst someone, forgive, as the
Lord forgave you.
If you're struggling with peace, ask yourself is there somebody
that I need to forgive?
The next thing that robs us ofpeace is a divided mind.
James 1.8 tells us adouble-minded man is unstable in
(05:28):
all his ways.
If we're trying to live withone foot in the world and one
foot in the kingdom, we'realways going to feel conflicted.
True peace comes when wesurrender everything to Christ.
So now that we've identifiedthe things that steal our peace,
let's talk about how to walk intrue, lasting peace.
(05:48):
According to God's Word, thefirst thing that we have to do
is seek God first in our lives.
Matthew 6.33 tells us but seekfirst His kingdom and His
(06:09):
righteousness, and all thesethings will be given to you as
well.
Peace starts with prioritizingGod.
Most of us feel restlessbecause we put God second or
third in our lives.
We squeeze him in between workand social media and
entertainment.
But when God is first, when webegin our day in His presence,
everything else falls into place.
(06:29):
So what you can do to put Godfirst is to start your day with
prayer before checking yourphone.
You know you're guilty of it.
I am too.
We need to spend time in God'sWord every day, even if it's
just one chapter and this one Itry to do myself.
(06:50):
All the time is worship, beforeyou worry.
Praise invites God's presence, and His presence brings peace.
A lot of times during the day,you know if I'm driving down the
interstate I'll just thank youLord, praise you, father, bless
you in the name of Jesus, justto get the words out, to get in
(07:13):
the habit of praising God andworshiping him all throughout
the day.
Another thing we need to do ismeditate on Scripture.
Psalm 119, 165 says Great peacehave those who love your law,
and nothing can make themstumble.
God's Word is our anchor inturbulent times when we don't
(07:39):
know what to do.
Scripture reminds us of God'spromises.
If our minds are filled withfear, it's a lot of times
because they're not filled withtruth.
So what can we do to meditateon Scripture?
It's easy.
Memorize at least one Scriptureon peace this week, write it
down, put it somewhere visibleon your mirror, on your
(08:02):
refrigerator, on your phonewallpaper and whenever anxiety
creeps in, declare the Word ofGod out loud.
Yeah, god's Word is alive andwhen we meditate on it we're
transformed.
And that's what it's all aboutis transforming our minds right,
(08:24):
renewing our minds.
Another way we can walk in peaceis to live in the Spirit.
Galatians 5, 22 and 23 tells usthat peace is a fruit of the
Spirit.
That means the more we walk inthe Spirit, the more peace we
experience.
Yeah, the more we walk in theSpirit, the more peace we
experience.
Yeah, romans 8.6 says the mindgoverned by the flesh is death,
(08:48):
but the mind governed by theSpirit is life and peace.
It's right there in God's Wordthe mind governed by the Spirit
is life and peace.
The Holy Spirit is our helper.
When we surrender daily to Him,he fills us with his peace, not
(09:10):
the world's temporary relief.
So, every day, ask the HolySpirit to guide you, every
morning when you wake up.
Avoid things that quench theSpirit Sin, yeah.
Dist, yeah.
Distractions, negativity.
We need to develop a habit ofworship and thanksgiving.
(09:31):
A grateful heart attracts peace, and when we walk by the spirit
, peace isn't something that wetry to have.
It becomes who we are.
So I want to share a story ofsomeone who found peace in the
middle of a storm.
Now, this is a true story abouta woman named Sarah, a woman
(09:53):
who faced one of the mostdifficult seasons of her life
but discovered the unshakablepeace of God.
Sarah was a devoted wife andmother of two young children.
Life was good and she notalways trusted God, but nothing
could have prepared her for whatwas coming.
One evening, as she was makingdinner, her phone rang.
(10:15):
It was the hospital.
Her husband, michael, had beenin a terrible car accident.
A drunk driver had run a redlight.
Michael had been in a terriblecar accident.
A drunk driver had run a redlight crashing into his car at
full speed.
The doctors did everything theycould, but after hours of
surgery, michael didn't make it.
(10:35):
In an instant.
Sarah's world shattered.
She couldn't breathe, shecouldn't think.
All she could do was cry outGod, why, why would you let this
happen?
The days that followed werefilled with grief and confusion
and fear.
She didn't know how she wouldraise her children alone.
She didn't know how she wouldpay the bills At night.
(10:59):
The silence in the house wasdeafening and the weight of
loneliness pressed down on her.
One evening, after putting herkids to bed, sarah fell on her
knees in the living room Withtears streaming down her face.
She opened her Bible to Psalm34, 18, which says the Lord is
close to the brokenhearted andsaves those who are crushed in
(11:20):
spirit.
She cried out to God.
Lord, I don't understand this,I don't know how to move forward
, but I choose to trust you.
Please give me your peace Now.
As she sat at that quiet place, something changed.
She didn't hear an audiblevoice, she didn't see a vision,
(11:42):
but she felt a peace settle overher, a peace she couldn't
explain.
It was as if God was wrappinghis arms around her, whispering
I am with you.
From that night forward, sarahmade a choice Every day she
would start her morning inprayer and in God's word, even
when she didn't feel like it.
She wrote out Philippians 4-7and placed it on her
(12:06):
refrigerator.
And the peace of God, whichsurpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and yourminds in Christ Jesus.
Little by little, god began torestore her heart.
She still grieved, but she wasno longer consumed by fear.
She still missed her husband, but she was no longer
overwhelmed by despair.
(12:27):
The peace of God carried herstep by step.
A year later, sarah started asupport group for widows and
single mothers at her church.
She shared her story of loss, but, more importantly, she
shared how God had been heranchor in the storm.
Through her pain, she was ableto lead others to peace, the
(12:50):
peace she had found in Christ.
Today, sarah looks back andrealizes that the peace of God
isn't about having an easy life.
It's about knowing that, nomatter what happens, he's in
control.
His peace isn't fragile.
It isn't based on circumstances.
It's rooted in the unchangingtruth that he is always with us.
(13:17):
I want you to listen to me.
Maybe you're here today andyou're in your own storm.
I know, I have been.
We've all been there.
Maybe life has thrown you intoa season of uncertainty or loss
or pain.
I want you to know the samepeace that Sarah found is
(13:41):
available to you right now.
Jesus says in John 14, 27,.
Peace I leave with you.
My peace I give to you.
I do not give it to you as theworld gives.
Do not let your hearts betroubled and do not be afraid.
If you're struggling today, Iencourage you go to him, pray,
(14:04):
surrender your worries and lethis peace wash over you.
He's closer than you think.
So, as I wrap up, I want toremind you peace is a promise
from God.
It's not something you have tochase, it's something you
(14:27):
receive.
Now here's my next challenge foryou For the next seven days.
Begin each morning by declaringI choose to trust God today.
His peace rules my heart.
I encourage you to write downPhilippians 4-7 and meditate on
it this week.
Let it sink into your.
Before we go, let's pray.
Father God, I want you to reachdown and touch everyone who
(14:51):

We've all been there.
