Speaker 1 (00:01):
Coming up on Renewed
Mindsets.
The world is changing and timeis running out.
(00:22):
This is Renewed Mindsets wherewe confront biblical truth
head-on no sugarcoating, nocompromise.
We expose false doctrine, reveal fulfilled prophecy and
shine light on the demonicdeception of these last days,
but we also stand firm on thehope of Christ's return, the
(00:44):
call to holiness and the urgencyof true salvation.
It's time to renew your mind, for the time is now.
Let's go, boys.
Hey, welcome back to RenewedMindsets, where we refuse to be
(01:05):
conformed to this world and aretransformed by the renewing of
our minds through God's Word.
I'm Rick and I'm so glad you'rehere.
Today's episode is a soberwarning and a clear call to
wisdom.
Be careful who you allow tofeed you, because what you feed
on isn't just shaping youropinions, it's shaping your
(01:28):
destiny.
It's either making you strongerin Christ or weaker to the
world.
And in these days of confusion, deception, spiritual famine,
the end times, you and I can'tafford to eat anything but pure
truth.
We're going to go deep today, because a casual mindset won't
(01:48):
survive a time of shaking.
Now, just like the name of thisepisode says, be careful who
you allow to feed you.
Not everyone speaking into yourlife was sent by God.
Some were sent by the enemy andsome were sent by their own
brokenness.
Matthew 7.15 says Beware offalse prophets who've come
(02:12):
disguised as harmless sheep butare really vicious wolves.
It's easy to spot a wolf whenthey snarl at you, but it's a
lot harder when they smile atyou.
The real danger comes fromvoices that seem harmless or
even helpful.
People who mean well are stillfeeding you from their pride or
(02:32):
their wounds or their rebellion.
Some speak from pride, notwisdom.
They'll tell you what soundsimpressive, not what's true.
They'll tell you to chase yourdreams, but they won't tell you
to die to yourself.
And prideful advice always endsin downfall Proverbs 16, 18.
(02:52):
Now some speak from wounds nothealing.
They tell you to protectyourself so much that you never
trust again.
They'll teach you to liveguarded, suspicious, defensive,
and they call it wisdom.
But James 3.17 says true wisdomis pure, peace-loving gentle at
(03:13):
all times.
And others will speak fromrebellion, not righteousness.
They'll tell you you don't needthe church, you don't need
spiritual authority, you can doChristianity your way.
They'll sell you a personalizedreligion with no accountability
, basically the Americanizedchurch.
But God's word is clear we're abody, not solo acts.
(03:36):
1 Corinthians, 12, 12-27.
The wrong voices don't justdistract you, they deform you.
They shape you into somethingthat looks less like Christ and
more like culture and eventually, if you keep feeding on the
wrong things, you won't evenrecognize the real thing when it
shows up.
Now you don't stay neutral inthis life.
(04:03):
What you allow to feed youforms you.
Galatians 5 and 9 says thisfalse teaching is like a little
yeast that spreads through thewhole batch of dough.
One bad belief spreads intoevery corner of your life.
If you don't catch it, it'llshape how you pray.
It'll shape how you seeyourself.
(04:24):
It'll shape how you pray.
It'll shape how you seeyourself.
It'll shape how you react tocorrection.
It'll even shape how you hearGod's voice.
I've seen people start offpassionate for Jesus, but they
start listening to finger quoteinfluencers who call sin a
mistake and repentance legalism, and then, six months later,
(04:45):
they're defending lifestylesthat God clearly condemned, all
in the name of love.
It's a slow infection.
You won't notice it at first.
It'll feel freeing, it'll feelmature, but it's really the
yeast working its way throughyour soul.
Yeah, hebrews 12, 15 says Lookafter each other so that none of
(05:10):
you fails to receive the graceof God.
Watch out that no poisonousroot of bitterness grows up to
trouble you, corrupting many.
Wrong teaching doesn't justmess you up, it corrupts others
through you.
Your compromise is going toripple out to everybody that
you're connected to.
This is why discernment isn'toptional.
(05:32):
It's life or death.
The stakes are too high to becasual about who you listen to.
So how do you know when thewrong voices are shaping you?
I've got eight clear signs thatyou've been eating spiritual
junk food.
First, you start justifying sininstead of fleeing from it.
(05:56):
You say things like Godunderstands instead of God.
Help me overcome the next one.
You become defensive whencorrected, even if the
correction is biblical.
You crave emotions overscripture.
You chase these powerfulmoments, but you neglect God's
(06:19):
unchanging word.
Four you prioritize beingaccepted over being obedient.
Pleasing people feels moreurgent than pleasing God.
Fifth one you resist authority.
You see pastors, leaders, parents as obstacles instead of
protection.
The next is you become casualabout holiness.
(06:43):
Sin feels less serious.
The next you grow skeptical ofreal spiritual power.
Healings, miracles, deliveranceWell, that all sounds extreme
to you.
And finally you stop growing inChristlikeness.
(07:04):
And finally you stop growing inChristlikeness.
You stay busy, but you stopbecoming more holy, more loving,
more patient, more faithful.
Hebrews 5.14 says Solid food isfor those who are mature, who,
(07:25):
through training, have theskills to recognize the
difference between right andwrong People.
Discernment is a skill you haveto train for it.
You can't afford to take everysermon, every YouTube clip,
every piece of advice, everypiece of advice at face value.
You've got to test everything.
You got to hold it up to thelight of scripture and if it
(07:46):
doesn't match the word of God,throw it out, no matter how good
it sounds.
Listen to me If you want tostay strong in these last days,
you have to guard your spirit, like your life depends on it,
because it does.
Here's the battle plan Feeddaily on the word of God.
(08:12):
Not motivational quotes, notfeel-good devotionals, even ones
that might come from wisdom forthe day every day.
Ones that might come fromwisdom for the day every day.
The word Daily bread, notSunday snacks.
Jeremiah 15, 16 says when Idiscovered your words, I
(08:32):
devoured them.
They're my joy and my heart'sdelight.
Two pray for discernment daily.
Discernment isn't paranoia.
Discernment is clarity.
Discernment is the Holy Spiritwhispering.
That's not from me.
(08:53):
James 1.5 promises if you needwisdom, ask our generous God and
he will give it to you.
Next, this is a tough one forpeople Walk in humility.
Pride makes you deaf tocorrection.
Humility keeps your ears opento truth, even when it stings.
(09:16):
Proverbs 11.2 says Pride leadsto disgrace, but with humility
comes wisdom.
Next, stay planted among godlybelievers.
You lone wolf Christians areeasy prey.
We are a body, not scatteredparts.
Hebrews 10.25 says and let usnot neglect our meeting together
(09:39):
, as some people do, butencourage one another,
especially now that the day ofhis return is drawing near.
Yeah, that means a lot moretoday.
Test every voice by the word.
Measure every sermon, everyconversation, every opinion by
(09:59):
scripture.
Be a Berean.
Acts 17 11 says they searchedthe scriptures day after day to
see if Paul and Silas wereteaching the truth.
If Paul himself welcomed beingtested by the word, so should
every preacher, every influencer, every friend, every friend.
(10:27):
Every day, whether you realizeit or not, you sit at a table.
You feast on someone's words, you drink someone's spirit.
The question is not am I beingfed?
The question is by who?
God prepares a table for hispeople full of strength, wisdom,
holiness and truth, but theworld prepares its own table too
(10:51):
, full of pride, compromise, emotionalism, rebellion.
You can't eat from both.
You can't be fed by God and theworld at the same time.
1 Corinthians 10.21.
You cannot drink from the cupof the Lord and the cup of
demons too.
You cannot eat at the Lord'stable and at the table of demons
(11:14):
too.
People, it's decision time.
Whose table are you going tosit at?
Whose voice will shape you?
Whose truth will you build yourlife on?
Be careful who you allow tofeed you, because what fills you
(11:38):
will form you and what formsyou will decide your eternity.
Stay hungry for God, stay fiercein your faith.
Stay awake and stay unshakableUntil next time.
(12:01):
Don't just survive thedeception.
Overcome it In Jesus' mightyname.
That's all for today, but I'llbe back with more unfiltered
biblical truth and undeniableprophecy.
The time to wake up is now.
If today's episode challengedyou, don't keep it to yourself.
(12:23):
