Have you ever poured your heart into someone who couldn't—or wouldn't—love you back? The biblical prophet Hosea lived this reality when God commanded him to marry a woman who would repeatedly betray him. His story reveals a profound truth: sometimes our most painful relationships serve a divine purpose we can't yet see.

Today's episode dives deep into what it means to love with God's heart, especially when that love isn't returned. Many of us find ourselves loving people whose hearts are fractured—people who push away affection, sabotage relationships, or never learned what healthy love looks like. When we consistently show up with patience and faithfulness, these individuals often don't know how to respond. They might run, reject, or take what we've given them only to offer it to someone else.

The message of Hosea offers a radical perspective shift. Perhaps God placed you in their life not primarily to receive love but to give it—to show them what divine love looks like through your constancy. Your love becomes a seed planted in broken soil that may not sprout for years, maybe not until eternity. The value isn't measured by what returns to you but by what flows from you. As we explore this counterintuitive truth, you'll discover that loving like Hosea—loving like God—transforms not just those we love, but ourselves as well.

Ready to see your painful relationships through heaven's eyes? Listen now and discover how your unreturned love might be accomplishing more than you realize. If this message resonates with you, don't keep it to yourself—share it with someone who needs this perspective today. This is Renewed Mindsets wherewe confront biblical truth head
on no sugarcoating, nocompromise.
We expose false doctrine, reveal fulfilled prophecy and
shine light on the demonicdeception of these last days,
but we also stand firm on thehope of Christ's return, the

(03:37):
call to holiness and the urgencyof true salvation.
It's time to renew your mind, for the time is now.
Let's go, boys.
Welcome back to RenewedMindsets where we renew our

(03:59):
thinking by the Word of God andnot the patterns of this world.
I'm Rick and I'm so glad you'rehere.
Today's episode is going to hurta little.
We're looking at Hosea, aprophet who was commanded by God
to love someone who wouldn'tlove him back.
It's one of the most painfullove stories in all of Scripture

(04:20):
.
But what if I told you thatthat kind of love story is
happening all around us?
No, now, maybe God didn't tellyou to marry a prostitute, like
he told Hosea, but he may havecalled you to love someone
broken, someone guarded, someonewho pushes you away, someone

(04:42):
who doesn't yet know what reallove looks like, and you're the
one God placed there to showthem.
It's not always dramatic.
A lot of times it's quiet, butit's real and it matters.
Let's talk about what it meansto love with the heart of God,
even when that love isn'treturned.

(05:02):
So when the Lord first beganspeaking to Israel through Hosea
, he said to him Go and marry aprostitute, so that some of her
children will be conceived inprostitution.
This will illustrate how Israelhas acted like a prostitute by
turning against the Lord andworshiping other gods.

(05:24):
That's Hosea, chapter 1, verse2.
Now, to quote Marty McFly, thisis heavy.
Hosea didn't just preach aboutGod's love, he lived it.
God told him to marry Gomer, awoman who would wound him again
and again, and each time she ran, god told Hosea go get her,

(05:47):
love her anyway.
Now, most of us won't be calledto something that extreme, but
many of us have been called tolove people whose hearts are
fractured, people who don't knowhow to love in return, people
who sabotage relationships, pushaway affection or simply never

(06:08):
learn what it looks like to beloved with consistency and grace
.
And when you're in thatsituation, it's easy to feel
like you're wasting your time.
But Hosea teaches us you mightbe walking out God's love story
in disguise.
You see, some people in yourlife may have never seen what

(06:30):
godly love looks like.
They've been lied to, used, abandoned, some were abused, and
when you show up with patienceand faithfulness and forgiveness
, they don't know what to dowith it.
They might run from it, theymight reject it, mock it or
ignore it entirely.
But that doesn't mean that yourlove failed.

(06:52):
It means you were plantingseeds in a broken soul.
God may have placed you intheir life not to get love but
to give it, to teach them whatit looks like.
And the blessing is you don'talways realize what you taught
them until a whole lot later.
Sometimes it's not untileternity.

(07:13):
But let's be real, it hurts.
You pour out and they don'tpour back.
You give and they take.
You pray and they drift.
You try to show them Christ.
But it's in that moment thatyou ask God, why me?

(07:34):
But Hosea's story gives us ananswer, because sometimes God
needs someone who's willing tolove like he loves, not for what
it gets back, but for what itgives out.
Not for what it gets back, butfor what it gives out.
God does it daily.
He loves a world that rarelythanks him, rarely obeys him and

(07:58):
constantly breaks his heart.
And when you love someone whodoesn't know how to love in
return, you get a taste of thatholy sorrow and strangely it
makes you more like him.
Let me read from Hosea, chapter3, verse 1.
Then the Lord said to me go andlove your wife again, even

(08:22):
though she commits adultery withanother lover.
This will illustrate that theLord still loves Israel, even
though the people have turned toother gods.
Now let me say this again Godmay never call you to a
Hosea-level obedience, but hewill call you to love the
unlovable, to forgive when itmakes no sense To stand in the

(08:44):
gap for someone who doesn't evenknow there's a gap, and
sometimes God doesn't tell youthe purpose until the very end.
You realize years later thatyou were there, one glimpse of
Jesus, that your love softenedthem for something else.
It softened something in them, that your prayers were the

(09:08):
reason they came home.
You may not see the harvest now, but in God's economy, love is
never wasted.
God told Hosea go again, eventhough she'd been with someone
else, even though she gave herbody away again with someone

(09:30):
else, even though she gave herbody away again, even though
she's taken everything you'vepoured into her and spent it on
someone else, and if you've everloved someone deeply, you know
this pain.
You show them what real love is.
You pray over them, you protectthem, you forgive them, you
help them grow, help them heal, and then they leave.
And sometimes, not only do theyleave, they turn around and

(09:55):
offer that healed, betterversion of themselves to someone
else.
It's the kind of ache thatHosea knew, and it's the ache
that many of us know too.
But hear this Just because theytook your gift and gave it away
doesn't mean it was wasted.
You weren't loving them for you, you were loving them for God,

(10:20):
and God sees what you poured out, even if they never look back.
If you're sitting there rightnow and wondering why your love
wasn't enough, just let meremind you it wasn't supposed to
be.
Only God's love is enough tochange a heart.
Yours is the vessel, his is thepower.

(10:40):
You weren't sent to rescue them, you were sent to reflect him,
and whether they ever come backaround or not, you need to know
this.
You obeyed, you loved, youtaught them something holy, and
God is pleased.

(11:02):
In these end times, when lovehas grown cold and self-interest
reigns, the world desperatelyneeds people who will love, like
Hosea, like Christ, like God,even if it hurts.
I want to thank you forlistening to me today.

(11:24):
This came from God directly.
Sometimes the deepest lovestories don't have fairytale
endings, but they have eternalpurpose.
I need you to keep loving, keeptrusting and know that God sees
your heart, your sacrifice andyour obedience.

(11:49):
Just remember it's not a wasteto love like Jesus, especially
when there's no one else whowill.
That's all for today, but I'llbe back with more unfiltered
biblical truth and undeniableprophecy.
The time to wake up is now.
