Feeling wrung out by headlines, hot takes, and the pressure to react to everything? We’re taking a brave step in the opposite direction—away from performative outrage and toward clear, quiet, rooted faith. Rather than letting the world set our pace, we slow down enough for God to renew our minds and steady our hearts.

We start by naming a cultural lie: if you don’t react, you’re not faithful. Then we hold it up to Scripture. Romans 12:2 calls us to stop copying the world, which includes the cadence of constant reactions and the addiction to visibility. We talk about the difference between reactive faith and rooted faith, and why clarity always beats noise. From there, we explore what it actually means to stand—calmly, consistently, and with authority under control. Jesus modeled strength in quiet, choosing when to speak and when to stay silent, anchored in the Father’s will rather than public pressure.

Abiding becomes the practical center of the conversation. John 15 invites us to remain in Christ, not remain informed or outraged. We share simple rhythms to recover attention and peace: sit with God without an agenda, pause before posting, and let prayer set your tone for the day. You’ll hear a guided moment to breathe, release the weight you were never asked to carry, and receive a clear, simple assignment: walk humbly, think clearly, obey fully, and stand calmly. Let God handle the shaking; you focus on staying rooted.

If you’re ready to trade confusion for clarity and anxiety for steady obedience, this is your reset. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs quiet strength today, and leave a review to help others find this space of peace and purpose.

SPEAKER_00 (00:27):
Welcome to Renewed Mindsets.
In a loud and confusing world, this podcast exists to help you
think clearly, live faithfully, and stay anchored in truth.
We're not chasing fear orheadlines, we're choosing
obedience, clarity, and steadyfaith.
Take a breath and let's renewour minds together.

(00:49):
Let's go, boys.
Hey, welcome to RenewedMindsets.
I'm Rick and I'm so glad you'rehere.
Now let me start by saying thisplainly.
A lot of you are tired.
Not tired in your body, buttired in your spirit.

(01:13):
You wake up and before your feethit the floor, the noise starts.
News alerts, opinions, outrage, division, pressure to take a
side, to speak up, to react.
Even inside the church, thenoise hasn't stopped.
What's truth?
What matters?
What do we stand on anymore?

(01:35):
Some of you love God deeply, butyou're worn down trying to stay
faithful in a world that won'tslow down.
If that's you, you're not weak.
You're paying attention.
So here's the lie we're going toconfront today.
If I don't react, I'm notfaithful.

(01:59):
Now, somewhere along the way, westarted believing that loud
faith equals strong faith.
That if we're not constantlyresponding or posting or arguing
or sounding the alarm, then wemust be compromised.
But scripture never teachesreactive faith, it teaches
rooted faith.

(02:20):
The enemy loves noise becausenoise creates confusion.
And confusion creates fear, andfear creates bad decisions.
God, on the other hand, speaksin clarity.
So I thought I'd start the newyear of renewed mindsets with
the anchor scripture that wealways use.

(02:41):
Romans 12 2.
Don't copy the behavior andcustoms of this world, but let
God transform you into a newperson by changing the way you
think.
Now notice what Paul doesn'tsay.
He doesn't say fight the world, fix the world, outshout the
world.

(03:01):
He says don't copy it.
That means we don't let theworld set the pace of our
thoughts, our emotions, or ourreactions.
Renewal happens when we slowdown enough to let God reshape
us.
As you continue to listen eachweek, you're going to hear me
talking a lot about standing.

(03:22):
It's just kind of what's in myhead for the year.
It started last year with thebooks that I wrote, and Wisdom
for the Day podcast is all aboutstanding, and it's moved over
into renewed mindsets now.
So standing must be my word ofthe year.
Standing doesn't mean bracingfor impact every day, though.

(03:43):
But what it does mean is youdon't move when others panic.
You don't bend when pressurerises.
You don't speak just to beheard.
Jesus stood silent more than hespoke.
When he accused, he didn'tdefend himself.
When he mocked, or not when hemocked, but when mocked, when he

(04:06):
was mocked, he didn't react.
And when he was surrounded bynoise, he stayed anchored in the
Father's will.
Now that wasn't weakness.
That was authority undercontrol.
Some of you feel guilty forstepping back from the noise,
but that might be obedience, notapathy.

(04:26):
All right, we gotta be honesthere.
I need to ask you somethinghonestly.
When was the last time you satwith God without an agenda?
No news in the background, noscrolling, no preparing your
next opinion, your next sermon, your next Facebook text.

(04:47):
Just you and him.
Clarity doesn't come fromconsuming more information, it
comes from abiding.
John 15 tells us to remain inhim, not remain informed, not
remain outraged, not remainreactive, just remain.

(05:08):
So here's your call today.
It's simple.
You don't have to keep up witheverything to stay faithful.
You don't have to speak oneverything to stand for truth.
You don't have to carry theweight of the world on your
shoulders.
That was never your assignment.
Your assignment is to walkhumbly, think clearly, obey

(05:32):
fully, and stand calmly.
Let God handle the shaking.
You focus on staying rooted.
Alright, just slow down.
If you can, just pause for amoment.
I need you to breathe and letthe noise settle.
And let's pray.

(05:54):
Father God, we confess that thenoise has worn us down.
We've listened to too manyvoices, and sometimes we
confused volume with truth.
Quiet our hearts, renew ourminds, teach us how to stand
without fear, how to obeywithout panic, and how to trust

(06:15):
you even when everything feelsuncertain.
We choose clarity over chaos, faith over fear, obedience over
reaction.
In Jesus' precious name I pray.
Amen.
If this episode helped you slowdown and breathe again, that's
what renewed mindsets is herefor.

(06:37):
That's what I'm going to bedoing for you this year.
We've got some major stuffcoming up.
End times events.
We talked about it for the last12 months.
Now we need to breathe.
Until next time, stand firm, stay anchored, and keep renewing

(07:01):
your mind.
