Speaker 1 (00:00):
The world is changing
and time is running out.
This is Renewed Mindsets, wherewe confront biblical truth
head-on no sugarcoating, nocompromise.
We expose false doctrine, reveal fulfilled prophecy and
shine light on the demonicdeception of these last days,
(00:21):
but we also stand firm on thehope of Christ's return, the
call to holiness and the urgencyof true salvation.
It's time to renew your mind.
There's not a lot of time left.
Let's go, boys.
Hey, welcome back to RenewedMindsets.
(00:49):
I'm Rick and I'm so glad you'rehere.
Today we're dealing with asubject that too many churches
avoid, but the early churchcouldn't survive without it
Deliverance.
Pentecostal deliverance is notan extra ministry, it's the
ministry of Jesus Christ andit's alive in the church today.
(01:09):
Now we're living in a worldthat's darker than ever.
It's preaching witchcraft,rebellion, self-worship, and the
church?
Well, the church is justpreaching comfort and tolerance.
But on the day of Pentecost, god didn't pour out his spirit
so we could run polishedprograms.
(01:31):
He gave power to cast outdemons, heal the sick and preach
with boldness.
And that same power is what weneed in the end times.
Now.
(01:52):
In a word, deliverance isfreedom.
Freedom, it's the breaking ofchains, of demonic oppression,
strongholds, addictions andtorment, through the power of
Jesus Christ.
In Luke 8, jesus confronted theman possessed by legion.
No chains could hold him.
He lived among the tombs, tormented, but one encounter
with Jesus set him free.
(02:14):
I'll be talking about real-worldexamples today.
So, along that line, there's ayoung woman that was trapped by
fentanyl and she kept goingthrough rehabs and programs that
medicated her but never reallyhealed her.
But she went to a Pentecostalservice and the name of Jesus
was spoken over her.
She was delivered.
(02:34):
The cravings left her mindcleared.
That's deliverance.
Deliverance is not theatrics,it's not a performance for the
camera.
It's the power of Goddestroying the grip of hell on a
human life.
So why do we need deliverance?
(02:56):
Well, bondage is everywhereAddiction to drugs and alcohol,
pornography, depression, anxiety, generational curses that haunt
families for generations.
These things are spiritual, notjust psychological.
Sin opens up doors to the enemyand self-help can't close them
(03:18):
by themselves.
Now, in our culture today, young people are turning to
witchcraft through TikTok trends.
Tarot cards and crystals andastrology apps are downloaded by
the millions, and some of usremember the uproar of Harry
Potter 25 years ago.
Well, that was yesterday's seed.
(03:39):
It seems kind of tame now, doesn't it?
But today it's full-blownoccult discipleship for a
generation.
There's laws that are beingpassed in our country that
normalize what God callsabomination.
We're raising children in asystem that calls good evil and
(03:59):
evil good.
That is not just politics, that's demonic influence over a
nation.
Deliverance is needed not justfor individuals, but for the
church itself.
So here's a story of a manthat's tormented by
uncontrollable rage, and thisman is about to lose his family.
(04:21):
He's gone to counseling, he'sbeen on medication.
It's all failed.
But when spirit-filledbelievers prayed in the
authority of Jesus, the rageleft, peace entered this man's
(04:44):
life and he walked away free.
This is why deliverance isneeded, because the church has
people sitting in pews, boundand tormented, while pastors
preach sermons that sound likeTED Talks.
Have you noticed anything in theBible?
Jesus never ignored demons.
He confronted them Everywherehe went.
He cast them out.
In Mark, chapter 1, he silencedan unclean spirit in the
(05:07):
synagogue.
In Mark 5, he restored the manwith legion.
In Luke 13, he set free a womanthat was bent over for 18 years
, oppressed by a spirit ofinfirmity, by a spirit of
(05:28):
infirmity.
And then in Mark 16, verse 17,he gave the church this promise
these miraculous signs willaccompany those who believe.
They will cast out demons in myname.
Around the world Africa, southAmerica, asia.
(05:48):
Pentecostal believers expectdeliverance to happen.
They expect it and it does.
People are freed fromwitchcraft and torment every
week, but here in America wecall it too much.
They're doing too much, yet ourchurches are drowning in
depression.
Yet our churches are drowningin depression.
Pornography, divorce, suicide.
The difference is not God'spower, the difference is
(06:12):
obedience.
The church needs to return tothe basics of the Bible.
We're living in the last days.
Darkness is flaunted in musicand television and politics and
movies.
Social media celebratesrebellion against God.
Children are taught confusionas truth in our schools.
(06:35):
There are Pentecostal churchesin America that are still
preaching deliverance and inthose churches demons flee, the
oppressed are healed, the HolySpirit moves in power, but most
of the so-called Christians inthis country dismiss it as
(06:56):
extremism.
Christians in this countrydismiss it as extremism.
They say that's too much.
That's just too much.
They don't need to do all that.
No, what's too much is apowerless church that bows to
culture and preaches onlycomfort.
Pentecostals are calledPentecostal because of what
(07:17):
happened on the day of Pentecost.
After Jesus ascended, hisfollowers waited in the upper
room.
The Spirit came across, or cameas tongues of fire.
On each one of them.
They spoke in other languages.
They received gifts of theSpirit.
They received power.
(07:38):
That power was not for hype, itwas for deliverance, it was for
the gospel, it was for the lastdays.
Yeah, today the Americanizedchurch says God is love.
Just be nice, do good things.
But the Bible says God is holy.
(07:59):
The Spirit was given to make usholy and powerful, not to be
comfortable and popular.
So what's the process ofdeliverance?
Well, I'll tell you.
It begins with repentance.
You must be repentant of yoursin.
A person has to renounce sinand close the doors that were
(08:21):
open.
Then, through prayer and thename of Jesus, demons must flee.
I got an example of a man thatwas addicted to pornography and
he confesses his sin andbelievers pray in Jesus' name.
The spirit of lust is cast out,the Holy Spirit fills him with
(08:42):
purity, accountability keeps thedoor closed.
That is real deliverance.
Sometimes deliverance isinstant.
Sometimes it's a process.
A woman plagued with depressiongets prayed for.
The heaviness lifts, but weekslater, bitterness is revealed to
(09:05):
her by the Holy Spirit and shereleases that bitterness that
caused the depression.
Now, over time, freedom grows.
It's a miracle and a journey.
And here's the contrast.
The Americanized church saysjust manage it with therapy,
(09:26):
with drugs.
But true Pentecostal power saysbe set free in Jesus' name.
One leaves you coping, theother makes you free.
Indeed, sit back for just aminute.
Listen.
This is our world.
We got technology where we livein a world where children carry
(09:51):
portals to darkness in theirpockets, phones, they're filled
with pornography, witchcraft,rebellion.
That's why deliverance is notoptional.
We live in a political worldmore than ever.
But our leaders call evil good.
(10:11):
Sin is legalized and celebrated.
The spirit of Babylon is alivein America.
Sin is legalized and celebrated.
The spirit of Babylon is alivein America.
The church has to rise indeliverance power or be swept
away in compromise.
You know I'm going to talkabout entertainment TV shows,
(10:34):
music, movies.
They openly glorify demons andpossession.
They laugh at what Scripturetakes seriously.
The church that does notpractice deliverance is soon
going to be no different thanthe world that it entertains.
Now I'm talking to you.
If you're part of the remnantthat still believes in
Pentecostal deliverance, takecourage.
(10:55):
You're not outdated, you're notextreme.
You're walking in the samepower that shook the upper room
on the day of Pentecost 2,000years ago.
You might feel mocked by yourfriends and family, by the
Americanized church that saysthat's too much.
(11:17):
But you need to remember thisthe same spirit that raised
Jesus from the dead lives in you.
The fire of Pentecost did notdie with the apostles, no matter
what you've heard.
It's alive in everyspirit-filled believer who's
(11:38):
willing to stand in faith andconfront the works of darkness.
You notice, I saidspirit-filled believer, not just
believer, because you're notborn again until you're filled
with the Holy Spirit.
Deliverance is part of thatprocess.
(12:02):
Deliverance is not a fringeministry, it's the ministry of
Jesus Christ.
When you cast out demons, whenyou pray freedom over the
addicted, when you watch chainsbreak off the oppressed, you're
carrying out the command of yourSavior.
You are not too much.
You're right on time.
(12:22):
But here is the challenge youcan't stay silent.
If you've seen the power ofdeliverance, you need to speak
about it.
You need to share the storiesof chains breaking and lives
being restored.
Tell your family, tell yourco-workers, tell your neighbors.
(12:46):
Too many people around us arebound up and have no idea that
freedom is even possible.
The world tells them to cope,to medicate, to manage Powerless
churches and that's themajority of them, I'm telling
you Powerless churches that justplay church.
(13:06):
Tell them to just try harder.
But you know the truth.
Jesus sets people free.
Invite them, bring them intothe house of God where
deliverance is happening.
You can't let fear of ridiculekeep you quiet.
(13:27):
Every person you bring into aspirit-filled church has the
chance to encounter the samefire that fell in the upper room
.
Deliverance isn't something tohide.
It's the proof that the HolySpirit is alive and active, and
when people see it, they see thegospel in power, not just in
(13:49):
words.
When they hear testimonies offreedom, their faith rises to
believe.
It can happen for them too.
So I encourage you speak up,bring people testify, be bold.
The world is growing darker, but the fire of God burns
(14:10):
brighter in you and in theselast days God is raising up
Pentecostal believers who willnot bow to culture, who will not
compromise truth and who willnot be silent while people are
enslaved.
Take heart, you are walking inPentecostal fire and that fire
(14:31):
is exactly what the end timeschurch needs to survive and to
overcome.
I'm back.
If you're bound, jesus can setyou free.
If you're tormented, his nameis stronger than every other
name.
Deliverance is not about demonsleaving.
(14:53):
It's about Jesus filling everyempty place.
The weapons of our warfare arenot carnal.
They're mighty, through God,for pulling down strongholds.
This isn't extremism, it'sChristianity.
This is Pentecost.
(15:14):
This is the power of God.
The church today, at this pointin history, doesn't need
another program.
We need Pentecostal fire, weneed deliverance.
We need the spirit that waspoured out in Acts, chapter 2,
alive and burning in the endtimes.
(15:37):
