Speaker 1 (00:05):
Hey, welcome back to
Renewed Mindsets.
I'm Rick and I'm so glad you'rehere, because today we're going
to deal with something that'sdestroying churches from the
inside out the Jezebel spirit.
Now, I'm not talking about thatone woman in the Old Testament.
Now, I'm not talking about thatone woman in the Old Testament.
(00:26):
I'm talking about the samedemonic influence that's been
slithering its way through God'speople for generations.
Revelation 2.20 says but I havethis complaint against you you
are permitting that woman, thatJezebel, who calls herself a
prophet, to lead my servantsastray.
(00:46):
She teaches them to commitsexual sin and eat food offered
to idols.
Did you catch that?
Jesus wasn't angry at the worldfor being worldly.
He was angry at the church fortolerating Jezebel.
And in these end times thatspirit is alive and well.
So a little background.
(01:11):
The Jezebel spirit is a spiritof seduction, of manipulation
and rebellion.
It's not just about one queenin Israel's history, queen in
Israel's history.
It's the demonic spirit behindfalse prophets, sexual
immorality and the compromise ofthe people to God.
(01:37):
In 1 Kings, jezebel luredIsrael into Baal worship and
destroyed the prophets of God.
Today, jezebel lures Christiansinto compromise with culture
and silences preachers who dareto speak the truth.
Churches are saying we need tobe more accepting, we need to be
more relevant.
What they mean is we're goingto stop calling sin sin so
(02:02):
sinners feel comfortable intheir sin.
That is Jezebel at work.
Have you ever noticed how easyit is to say God is love in
today's world, but how dangerousit feels to say God is holy,
that's Jezebel's hand, and thatJezebel spirit is rampant in
(02:24):
culture today.
Entertainment glorifies sexualsin.
Music videos celebrate lust.
Streaming shows normalizeimmorality until it no longer
shocks us.
Social media platforms rewardrebellion.
Influencers gain millions offollowers teaching lifestyles
(02:45):
that spit in the face of God'sword.
Gender confusion you know, Iwas going to talk about it.
It's promoted as liberation.
Sexual sin is celebrated asidentity and the culture dares
you to question it.
Celebrate it as identity andthe culture dares you to
question it.
This is the Jezebel spirit atwork, seducing a generation to
(03:10):
believe that sin is freedom andholiness is bondage.
But here's the painful truth.
Jezebel doesn't stop just atour culture.
She has infiltrated the church.
Pastors preach self-helpsermons instead of repentance.
Worship services stir emotion, but they never confront sin.
(03:33):
We've got entire denominationsrewriting scripture to affirm
what God calls abomination.
Abomination, hello, firstUnited Methodist, and the people
clap because it feels good.
They think tolerance is love, but what it really is is
(03:54):
compromise.
Jesus said in Revelation 2.20,you tolerate Jezebel.
That word tolerate means youaccept what you should have
rejected.
You allow what you should havecast out.
Now, where has the church inAmerica tolerated Jezebel?
Where have we replaced holinesswith entertainment and truth
(04:19):
and tolerance?
It's easy to answer.
And that Jezebel spirit is notsatisfied to just sit quietly.
It always wants authority.
In the Old Testament, jezebelcontrolled the king and silenced
the prophets.
Today, jezebel wants pulpits, platforms and influence over the
(04:43):
church.
She doesn't just tempt you withsin from the outside.
She infiltrates leadership, whispers into theology and
twists scripture so thatChristians bless what God
condemns.
There's churches that say wewelcome everyone, and yes, we
should welcome everyone.
(05:03):
But welcoming does not meanaffirming sin.
Jezebel redefines love astolerance, and tolerance always
leads to destruction.
So I'm going to be safe toassume that if you're listening
to me right now, that you'rehearing me, I need you to hear
(05:30):
me.
This is not a time to be silent.
This is not a time to shrugyour shoulders and say well,
that's just the way things are.
Do not tolerate what Godcondemns.
Do not excuse what the wordcalls sin.
Do not trade truth forrelevance.
1 John 2.15 says Do not lovethis world, nor the things that
(05:54):
it offers you, for when you lovethe world, you do not have the
love of the Father in you.
Believers, listen.
We are called to stand out, notto blend.
In the end times, church mustbe holy, not just happy, filled
(06:14):
with fire, not just feelings, preaching truth, not just
tolerance.
Now, if you're spirit-filled,don't be afraid to speak up.
Now, if you're spirit-filled,don't be afraid to speak up,
don't be afraid to invite peopleinto a church that still
preaches deliverance.
Your testimony matters, yourboldness matters.
(06:37):
You may be the only one in yourfamily who dares to confront
Jezebel, but if you do, you mayalso be the one who breaks the
chain of compromise in yourbloodline.
Yeah, listen to what I say.
The Jezebel spirit is alive inthese end times.
It dresses itself in tolerance,it disguises itself as love and
(07:02):
it makes compromise look holy.
But hear me out Love withouttruth is not love at all.
Tolerance that leads people tohell is not compassion, it's
betrayal.
The remnant church must rise.
The Pentecostal church mustburn again.
(07:22):
It's time to reject Jezebel.
It's time to reject Jezebel, tocast her down and walk in
holiness, because only a holychurch will be ready for a holy
Savior.
This is not extremism, this isnot too much.
This is obedience.
This is Pentecost.
(07:43):
This is what it means to standrenewed in mind and spirit in
these end times.
So I want to leave you withthis Jezebel only has power when
she's tolerated.
She thrives in silence, shegrows strong in compromise and
(08:08):
she lives where the churchrefuses to confront her.
But Revelation 2 shows us whatGod expects.
He said I gave her time torepent, but she would not.
And then he warned the churchthat tolerated her.
Judgment doesn't just fall onJezebel, it falls on those who
let her stay.
(08:29):
So let me ask you right now whenhave you tolerated Jezebel in
your life?
Maybe it's what you allow onyour TV.
Maybe it's the sin you laugh atbecause everyone else does.
Maybe it's the church youattend that never does anything
but entertain.
It never convicts.
Jezebel doesn't always comewith a crown.
(08:52):
Sometimes she comes with asmile and a sermon.
Yeah, take this moment to letthe Spirit search your heart.
If the Spirit of God ispointing you somewhere right now
, if it's pointing something out, don't ignore it, don't excuse
(09:18):
it, repent.
Close the door, renounce it inJesus' name.
Jezebels hold breaks when youstop tolerating her.
And to the remnant believers,to the Pentecostals who still
burn with fire, hear me, do notstay quiet, do not hide your
(09:43):
light.
Tell the truth.
Hide your light, tell the truth, share your testimony, bring
people into the presence of Godwhere deliverance still happens,
because Jezebel may be loud, but she is not stronger than the
spirit of the living God thatlives inside you.
(10:03):
We're not called to bow toculture.
We are called to cast downevery high thing that exalts
itself against the knowledge ofGod.
We are not called to tolerateJezebel.
We are called to throw her down.
This is your moment.
Stand holy, stand bold, standfilled with the fire of
(10:23):
Pentecost.
Stand holy, stand bold, standfilled with the fire of
Pentecost.
And when the world says you'retoo much, remember this the
church that tolerates Jezebelwill never see revival, but the
church that cast her down willsee the fire fall again.
This is not extremism, this isobedience, this is holiness,
(10:46):
this is the end times church.
All right, I'm going to dosomething a little different
here.
I want to share with you ashort story that I wrote.
It's a fictional account, butit's built on a very real truth.
It's about what happens when achurch begins to host the
(11:08):
Jezebel spirit, thatmanipulative, seductive,
controlling influence that Jesuswarned about in Revelation,
chapter 2.
Now, this isn't just a story,it's a mirror, and I believe
it's going to hit home for someof you, because the spirit of
Jezebel isn't locked away in thepast.
(11:28):
It's still very much alivetoday.
So I want you to lean in,listen closely and let the
spirit of God reveal to you whatmight be at work in the places
that we least expect.
The church that hosted Jezebel, the town of Willow Creek, had a
(11:49):
church with a shining whitesteeple.
From the outside it lookedalive.
The parking lot was full everySunday, the music loud and
polished, the programs.
Endless People said that's thechurch to be at.
Endless People said that's thechurch to be at.
Something's always happeningthere.
(12:14):
But on the inside, somethingunseen had taken root.
It began when the pastor, eagerto keep the crowds growing,
invited a woman named Marissa tolead the new prophetic ministry
.
She was charismatic, eloquentand persuasive.
She spoke with fire, quotingscripture with flair, and people
hung on every word.
But slowly her influenceshifted from pointing people to
(12:36):
Jesus to pointing people toherself.
Marissa whispered thatobedience to God didn't mean
holiness anymore.
It meant following her specialrevelations.
She told women to assertcontrol over their husbands in
the name of freedom.
She seduced men into secretrelationships, justifying it as
(13:00):
spiritual intimacy, and whenanyone questioned her, she
labeled them as religious orjudgmental or simply out of
touch with the Spirit.
The church loved the way shemade them feel Empowered,
important above the old ways.
But week by week, the fire ofGod's presence grew dim.
Prayer meetings turned intogossip circles, worship turned
(13:26):
into gossip circles, worshipturned into performance, and
those who still preachedrepentance were quietly pushed
aside.
Revelation 2.20 came to life inWillow Creek.
You are permitting that woman, that Jezebel, who calls herself
a prophet, to lead my servantsastray.
One Sunday, a visiting preacherwalked to the pulpit.
(13:47):
His voice broke with grief ashe read I have this against you,
that you tolerate that woman,jezebel.
The words cut through thesanctuary like a blade.
Some trembled, some grew angry, but most.
Some trembled, some grew angry, but most sat unmoved.
(14:09):
Within months, the church thathad once been alive was
spiritually bankrupt.
People still came, lights stillflashed, programs still ran,
but heaven had written a wordover the door Ichabod, the glory
has departed and the Jezebelspirit hidden behind a smile and
a microphone had claimedanother pulpit.
