O Conselho Universitário (Consu) da Unicamp aprovou a criação de quatro novos cursos de graduação: licenciatura em inglês, fisioterapia, direito e história. A proposta foi aprovada no último dia 8 de abril.
O projeto é que os cursos de inglês, fisioterapia e direito sejam em período integral e o curso de história tenha aulas no período noturno. Para o reitor da Unicamp, Antonio José de Almeida Meirelles, a iniciativa faz parte de um processo de expansão da universidade.
Como justificativa para os novos cursos, o pró-reitor de Graduação, Ivan Toro, afirmou que, entre as três universidades estaduais paulistas, a Unicamp é a que oferece o menor número de cursos. São 69 da Unicamp, contra 183 da Universidade de São Paulo (USP) e 136 da Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp). Após a aprovação, comissões da Unicamp vão avaliar a implementação dos cursos, e então os projetos serão levados para votação no Consu.
