Especialistas da Unicamp elaboraram um documento com sugestões para a Anvisa, visando modificar as regras sobre o uso medicinal da cannabis no Brasil. As propostas incluem a utilização de outros canabinoides além do canabidiol (CBD) e o aumento do limite de THC de 0,2% para 0,3% em receitas especiais. Embora o THC tenha efeitos psicoativos, também possui potencial terapêutico, mas ainda é visto negativamente por ser associado a efeitos psicoativos. Atualmente, 672 mil pessoas no Brasil utilizam produtos de cannabis, acessíveis por cultivo, importação, farmácias registradas ou associações. As sugestões também abordam a definição da cannabis como um produto manipulável e a possibilidade de regulamentação como suplemento ou cosmético.
