Amber Guyger Trial - Part 1 of 5 | Wreckless Mistake or Premeditation?

On September 6th, 2018 Amber Guyger returned to her apartment complex, South Side Flats, after completing her shift for the Dallas Texas Police where she worked as an officer on an elite crime response team. Amber walked down the fourth-floor hallway to apartment #1478. The doors locking systems utilize unique key cards with electronic chips. Amber claims that she inserted her card which caused the door to fully open as it was already ajar a little bit. With the door fully opened Amber saw that the apartment was completely dark except for the silhouette of a man. Amber claims she thought this was a burglar in her apartment. She drew her weapon and gave a couple of verbal commands, which went ignored,  then she fired two shots. One of those shots hit the man in the torso. But it wasn't Amber's apartment. It was the apartment directly above hers that belonged to Botham Jean a 26-year-old accountant working at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Botham would die from the event leaving his friends and family shattered and a community with tons of questions.  Was it a mistake? Did Amber have past interactions with Botham?
