Bio:

Dr. Johnson has twenty years of experience as an higher education administrator, coach, educator, and mentor. Dr. Johnson’s interest is working with students to ensure they have and accessible and equitable educational experience. He currently serves as the Director of Multicultural Affairs at the University of North Georgia where he creates opportunities for all members of the campus community to engage in meaningful experiences to help build cultural competency and develop students’ sense of belonging.

Dr. Johnson is a lifelong learner, as a first-generation student he earned his bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education (Sports Administration) from Lock Haven University. He then went on to earn his master’s degree in Sports Coaching from the United States Sports Academy. Most recently in 2021 he earned his doctorate in Higher Education Management from the University of Pittsburgh where his research focused on what supports and hinders Black and Latinx students at Community Colleges.

Personally, Dr. Johnson is the husband of his college sweetheart Ildiko Benoit-Johnson and the father of three wonderful children Alaina (13), Savana (11), and Ace (8).
