Those are the questions we answer with our guests this week.

We discuss The Raft Project and what it means to hold space for community and connection for yourself and for others. Andy shares his stories of struggling with his mental health and shares a few strategies that help him to this day. Kayla explains the importance of vulnerability and how the summer of 2020 opened her eyes to truths that not everyone in America is treated equal.

We discuss some heavy topics and yall know comedy is my medicine. This space is safe for open and necessary conversations - this is one of them.

Get ready to dive into what Resilience In Action means to both Kayla and Andy.

Bio:

Kayla and Andy Izard are authors, speakers, founders, and facilitators changing the way the world does connection. Their movement, The Raft Project, is making support normal and expected. Along with creating a safe space for real conversations in their community, they've poured their hearts into a book, Good, and You? How to Get Real Support Instead of Faking It, which released spring 2023. Good, and You? explores support and community in a real, practical, lively way.

After Andy’s prolonged mental breakdown in 2018, they doggedly pursued an open support group concept to process what they were experiencing. They knew they needed support – what they didn’t expect was so many others looking for the exact same thing.

While Kayla has BA in Communications and Andy in Psychology, this movement is built mostly on lived experience and an unwavering passion to do good for other people and themselves.
