Too often, we mistake sacrifice for control, believing that because we’ve given something up, God somehow “owes” us. Elder Glenn reminds us that true obedience is not bargaining with God, but loving Him enough to follow His commands wholeheartedly.
This teaching cuts to the core of our faith walk, showing that obedience is greater than sacrifice because it flows from love and trust, not obligation or manipulation. Elder Glenn encourages us to lay aside the mindset of transactional faith and embrace the higher call of surrender. When we offer God our obedience out of pure love, we position ourselves for His best—far greater than anything we could try to orchestrate through our own sacrifices.
