Speaker 1 (00:00):
no-transcript.
(04:37):
I love to advance the Kingdomof God.
Amen, amen.
And I don't know if you allknow, but we have been to a
conference over the last two anda half days and God poured out
some mighty blessings on ourlives.
He also gave us a lot ofrevelation, knowledge.
(04:58):
He also healed a lot of people.
A lot of people went throughdeliverance.
I mean, the power of God wasmoving, because our God is no
respecter of person, and so ifyour heart is to have him come
(05:18):
and bring breakthrough, he willbring the breakthrough.
Amen, amen, amen.
And so I have been prayingnearly this whole year that God
would awaken the sleeper, thatGod would awaken those who have
(05:41):
fallen into a deep slumber.
Many Christians have you see itinto a deep slumber.
Many Christians have.
You see, it's a spirit ofdeception.
That's what Satan does.
He brings deception upon ourlives and our hearts and he
begins to twist the truth sothat we begin to believe his
lies instead of what is true.
Do you believe that His liesinstead of what is true?
(06:03):
Do you believe that?
And the first thing you know, you're going down the wrong path
, you're going the wrongdirection, and when this happens
(06:23):
, we get entangled in thingsthat God did not mean to happen.
Sometimes the Lord will say Iwant you to go this direction.
And so you go the direction theLord is calling you.
And then all of a suddenthere's a shift and God says
you're not going to go that way,no more, I want you to go this
way.
That was just a season, and soeach of us in this room are in a
(06:49):
season.
Amen, you're all in a differentseason.
We're all in a different place.
I pray to god every day of mylife.
Lord, would you please make mea circle.
I want to be complete in you.
It's never going to happen.
I'm always an egg.
I just turn into an egg, like Ithink.
I think I'm striving and I'mgrowing and I'm becoming all
that I can become for JesusChrist.
And the next thing I know I'man egg.
I'm no longer the circle, because you know what?
(07:12):
I'm never going to get thefinished work until I meet
Christ in eternity.
That's when I'll become thecomplete circle in Jesus.
Amen, the complete circle inJesus, amen.
But he says that we are toreach for the prize of the high
calling of God, and so don'tever quit reaching.
(07:32):
Stay an egg till you get toheaven.
Amen, amen.
So what I wanted to share withyou first off this morning was
in the book of Songs of Solomon,in 416, it reads Awaken O north
(07:55):
wind and come, south wind, andblow up on the garden of my
heart.
Isn't that beautiful?
Awaken, awaken O north wind andsouth wind, come, blow up on
(08:20):
the garden of my heart.
Amen.
We're asking the Holy Spirit tobring each and every one of us
this morning new life.
You need new life.
Get a little stale, get alittle stagnant, get a little
status quo.
Blow up on the garden of myheart, north Wind.
Let the Spirit in His fragrancelift our hearts.
(08:48):
Let the fragrance of His gardenbe your aroma.
Amen.
You think that's beautiful.
The Holy Spirit is bringinglife and renewal to each heart
and each life this morning.
It's your choice.
(09:09):
You can receive it or you canlay it to the wayside.
But the Lord has told me todaythat the word that I bring today
is new life, it's refreshing,it's restoring, it's an
awakening word From your slumber.
Amen, amen.
(09:32):
So Many, many, many, many moonsago I was at a New Year's Eve
Prayer service and the LordSpoke directly to my heart.
I remember it was snowing and Iwas standing looking out a
window, seeking his face fordirection for Dave and I's life.
(09:53):
You know I do that every day ofmy life.
Lord, give Dave and I thedirection, show us where you
want us to be, show us where canwe help grow the kingdom.
Seeking direction.
And so he speaks to me as clearas a bell.
Revelations, whoopsieRevelations.
(10:18):
He says we overcome by the wordof our testimony and we love
our life not into death.
And I was like I know, that'sfor sure.
And he said the, the, the waysof your life, holly, the crooked
places, the straight places, the rough places, the smooth
places, the breakthroughs, isyour testimony.
(10:42):
And everywhere you go, youshare what I have done in your
life, because it's going tobring breakthrough, healing and
deliverance to all those that Ichoose for you to minister to.
So see, that tells me I won'tminister to everybody, I will
minister to the ones that hechooses.
(11:03):
And so this morning you arechosen, amen, amen.
And so a few months ago, onWednesday night, I taught on
Psalms 23.
And I believe that it was aneye-opener, the beauty and all
(11:27):
of the revelation that's inPsalms 23.
And I'm just going to read itto you.
The Lord is my shepherd.
I lack nothing.
Did you hear that we lacknothing?
Because of God's provision, because of his glory.
(11:47):
You know, a lot of us may berich in things of this earth, a
lot of us are rich in thetreasures of the Lord, and
blessed are those that have itboth.
Amen, amen.
But when you are walking withthe Lord, his word tells us
right there, you shall lack nogood thing, you shall not want
(12:11):
anything.
When you are walking with theLord, when you're being led by
the Lord, when you're beingobedient, there's the kicker
right To be obedient.
Number two he makes me lie downin the green pastures and he
leads me beside the quiet waters.
Now, when God says to me Holly, come to the green pasture, lay
(12:38):
down near the waters, this iswhat he's saying to me Girl, you
have spun out of control.
Saying to me girl, you havespun out of control.
You have went 90 miles an hourwhen I've called you to go 50.
You have just overextended, excuse me, my grace.
So now it's time for you tocome lay in my green pastures
(12:59):
near the water of the livingword.
See, when he calls us to thegreen pasture, he is calling us
to a place of refreshment, aplace where he's going to
restore us, a place where he'sgoing to give us revelation.
But if I continue going 90miles an hour out of control
which I do, and I admit it, daveis like get the lasso, we're in
(13:23):
.
But I'm so zealous about thekingdom of God.
There's so many things I wantto do that I don't have enough
time in a year to get done, andso I try to do a little bit of
everything.
But I do know when you do that, something lacks in your life,
(13:45):
and I've always been 100% inorder Family, god, church,
ministry.
My husband never lacks, my homenever lacks, the church don't
lack and my ministry don't lack.
But it's so important to keepthose four God, family, church,
(14:06):
ministry you have to stay inbalance or you will tip.
God showed me when I firststarted Table Talk that if my
roots got bigger than my fruitno, if my fruit got bigger than
my roots that my ministry wouldtip and falter.
And so, slow and easy, steady,25 years almost, and we've kept
(14:31):
the balance.
So you have to keep the balancein your life.
He refreshes my soul and heguides me along the right path
for his name's sake.
So we want to stay on the paththat God has called us.
We don't want to get on thewide path, we want to stay on
(14:53):
that narrow path so that we stayin alignment with him.
Amen, amen.
Even though I walk through darkvalleys, I will fear no evil,
for you are with me, your rodand your staff.
They will comfort me.
You prepare a table before mein the presence of my enemies.
(15:14):
Is that beautiful when yourenemy thinks that he has plowed
you down, ran you over and leftyou for dead?
Right in front of them, godwill rise you up.
Let his glory shine through you.
Amen, amen.
You anoint my head with oil andmy cup, your cup, overflows.
(15:39):
Isn't that beautiful.
Surely, your goodness and yourlove will follow me all the days
of my life and I will dwell inhis house forever and ever and
(16:00):
ever.
How far is ever?
Forever, amen, forever, amen,amen.
So so just let the Psalms 23just sink into us for a minute
(16:27):
of all the wonderful blessingsand promises that he has in
there for us.
Amen.
So then we're going to look atthe shepherd.
How, the how, our good shepherdin psalms 23 takes care of us.
(16:47):
He loves us, he loves each andevery one of us, and he will
leave the 99 to go get the 1.
Are you so thankful that he didthat for you, for me, because
(17:09):
let me tell you something aboutsheep.
Sheep, they're not thebrightest candle on the cake,
they're just not.
And so they're easilyfrightened.
They're just not, and sothey're easily frightened.
They're easily intimidated.
You know, they get their littlehead stuck in fences, they get
(17:32):
caught in the thicket.
They follow another sheep, theyjust follow that sheep, follow
that sheep Boop Right off thecliff Boop.
Maybe ten of them Becausethey're following the sheep
instead off the cliff Boop.
Maybe 10 of them becausethey're following the sheep
instead of the shepherd.
Amen, when that little sheepgets caught his head in that
(17:54):
fence or he gets caught in thatthicket, do you know what he's
thought?
Ah, look at that pasture fieldover there, man, does it look
like it's got good oats andgreens on it?
I think the sun's brighterthere.
Hey, you want to go with me?
Let's run over to that field, let's go over to that pasture.
Well, it ain't no different.
(18:18):
It ain't no different over here.
Oh, I don't know how to go back.
I'm scared.
Where's my shepherd?
I'm scared.
And so the little sheep triesto wander its way back, it gets
caught up in the thicket.
And, oh my gosh, here comes thepredator, the wolf, and he's
(18:39):
right ready to eat that littlelamb.
And what happens?
The shepherd lifts that littlelamb up, puts him in his arms
and cuddles him and he says comeon, let's go home.
Let's go home, my sheep.
(18:59):
Amen, the good shepherd.
He loves us so much.
You know how much he loves you.
He gave his life for you.
That's how much he loves youthat you and I could have
eternal life.
For how long?
(19:20):
Ever and ever and ever.
Amen.
So there it was.
He left the 99 to go get me.
I am ever grateful that he leftthe 99 and came and got me.
Do you think he only had tocome get me once?
(19:40):
No, there's many times.
He left the 99 to bring me backto the fold, because you know
why I'm not the brightest candleon the cake.
Amen, amen.
And so God values each one ofus so much that he will bring us
(20:02):
back when we have wandered off, that he will bring us back when
we have wandered off.
The shepherd rejoices when hefinds the one.
He's happy.
He's exalting you because hefound you.
Amen.
He does not desire for one ofus to go to a devil's hell.
(20:23):
He does not desire.
He desires us to be in the fold, amen.
Now we're going to switch gearsa little bit and we're going to
talk about he knows my name.
Does he know your name?
He knows my name Louder, talklouder.
Move my thingy up like thisthat better.
(20:44):
Okay, I am soft spokenUnlessder Talk louder.
Move my thingy up like thisthat better.
Okay, I am soft spoken, unlessI'm at home.
In Jeremiah 1, it says Before Iwas formed in my mother's womb,
before you were born, think ofthat.
(21:04):
He set us apart, made usdifferent, for a plan and a
purpose, amen.
So after he went and saved usand knows our name, now he's got
(21:25):
a plan and a purpose.
Amen, amen, amen, because youare unique and called by name.
Now, have you ever heard himcall you by name?
Have you ever heard it?
Amen.
Once you hear it, you'll neverforget it.
(21:47):
You will know when the Fathersays Dan, dan.
It'll be subtle and it'll bestraightforward Tanya, tanya,
penny, you'll know.
You'll know, you'll know, amen.
(22:16):
God has a plan for our life andwe should seek to fulfill that
plan, amen.
You'll think, oh, I just sithere, I just come to church.
That's what I do.
I just come to church.
I come to church on Sunday.
I just come to church.
(22:38):
Do you hear me?
I just come to church.
Oh, I don't get involved.
No, I don't do that.
Teach Sunday school?
No, god's never called me tothat.
Oh, help clean?
No, no, no, I don't do that.
No, no, no.
(23:00):
Smudge on the window oh, I'llget somebody to wash that.
See, god's called each and everyone of us to serve.
We are called to serve NotPastor Michael, not Pastor Roger
, not me, not organic church, but God.
We are called to serve him, whether it be a small or big.
(23:29):
You are called to serve Becauseof who he is.
You should want to servebecause of who he is, amen.
So in Isaiah it says God knowsmy name.
Isaiah 49, 1 and 2,.
(23:50):
God called me before I was born, while I was in my mother's
womb.
He named me.
Now, what do you think of that?
He named me Now.
My sister, bonnie, named me,but he evidently put Holly in
her heart, right, holly Ann,that's what my sisters call me.
(24:14):
Holly Ann, it's not just Holly,it's Holly Ann.
But he knows my name, he knowsyour name when we were in the
prayer room this morning.
All these girls are talkingabout well, they knew my name.
He knows your name when we werein the prayer room this morning
.
All these girls are talkingabout well, they knew my name.
Well, hey, that person knew myname.
I'm like how ironic we're goingto talk about.
He knows my name, he knows yourname, amen.
(24:41):
See, when God knows your name, you have an intimate
relationship with him.
It's unique, just between youand him.
No, he don't have arelationship with me like he
does, dave.
My relationship with him andPastor Michael's looks totally
different, and so it's unique, you're unique.
(25:04):
It's totally different, and soit's unique, you're unique.
He called us to be set apart, sanctified and made different.
Amen.
Years ago in the prayer room, that's what we prayed, I mean
probably 25, 30 years ago.
Oh Lord, please sanctify us,set apart, make us different.
(25:27):
Father, make us different forthe sake of the kingdom.
And then people are like youknow that Holly, daisy, she's
different.
And then I'm like well, howcould they say that about me?
Well, I pray to be different inthe sight of the people for the
sake of the kingdom, amen.
So if you're going to pray, tobe sanctified, set apart and
made different.
Then you're going to get alittle static in your life, you
(25:49):
know, and it isn't always goingto feel good, but we're among
good company, because everythingdidn't feel good to Jesus
either.
Amen.
You know, when you have trialsand tribulations, you're in good
company because that's whatJesus had.
You know.
So don't, despite those times, those are times where God's
(26:12):
going to grow you, he's going tomanicure you, he's going to fit
you into the place that he hasplanned and purposed for you.
So don't let those dry, desolate times discourage you
and be like that little sheepand run over to the other pastor
, because I'm here to tell youain't nothing any better over
(26:33):
there than it is here.
It's all the same cat's kittens.
Amen, amen, amen.
So God sees that we are uniqueand he knows that each and every
one of us we might not knowthis, but he knows that each and
every one of us have worth andvalue.
(26:54):
Each and everybody in thissanctuary this morning has worth
and value for this world, forhis kingdom.
The smallest act of kindnesscan bring the greatest change in
people's life.
When I was a young girl, I wentto the Denison Foursquare and I
(27:19):
was just hitting and missing, you know, just a hit and a miss.
And I was getting ready to walkout the door that day and the
pastor's wife grabbed my arm andshe said Holly, we'd like to
see more of you around here.
Well, ding dong daddy, that'sall I needed was to know that
somebody wanted that I had value, that I had worth.
(27:40):
And then the next thing thathappened was oh my goodness,
they was going roller skating.
Well, that was my number onething and I was in.
And that's all it took to gethere today was for somebody to
say we'd like to see more of youaround here.
Value, worth, you each have.
(28:01):
That.
You know.
They edified me, they upliftedme, they encouraged me, they
exhorted me, and the body ofChrist needs that.
You know.
They edified me, they upliftedme, they encouraged me, they
exhorted me, and the body ofChrist needs that.
Amen.
And so he knows my name and myGod knows me at the very core,
(28:23):
the very core of me.
He knows me, core, the verycore of me, he knows me.
So yesterday morning, that's alltestimony, guys.
So yesterday morning, about aquarter after six, I wake up, I
(28:44):
no sooner have my eyes open andthe Holy Spirit is right there
and he says to me in such a tonethey're not yours, they're mine
.
I said what?
They're not yours, they're mine.
(29:04):
He said everything in they'renot yours, they're mine.
He said everything in thisworld is mine.
Everything you have is on Lend.
Everything we have is on Lend,I'm telling you.
He took me behind the woodshedand he gave me a good talking to
and it put me in a mood.
(29:26):
Do you ever get taken behindthe woodshed once or twice in
your life?
It's about my third time, youknow.
He told me a few weeks agohunker down, girl, find your
refuge, it's coming.
When God talks to you like that, those are attention getters.
Do you ever have your mom goright here on the side of your
(29:48):
hair and give you a little pull?
That's an attention getter.
That was an attention getter.
They're not yours, they're mine.
Nothing is yours, nothing.
Everything you have is on loanfrom me.
That's powerful guys, verypowerful.
(30:09):
And so I go down to the meetingroom where all these people are.
I don't want to be there.
I don't even want to be aroundthem.
I don't even like myself.
Yesterday morning, how couldanybody else like me, you ever
get there?
I can't stand me.
How could anybody else stand meand ever get there?
I can't stand me.
How could anybody else stand me?
And now I'm supposed to enterinto worship.
(30:29):
You know they have me in thefront row.
I'm one of the pastors, I'mhaving issues and so I sat with
a friend in the back for a whileand we just chit-chatted and
fellowshiped and pretty soon Imade my way up front and I'm
trying to enter into worship.
(30:49):
I'm trying to press through andall of a sudden he speaks to me
.
He says go to the green pasture, lay beside the water.
Let me wash you with my word.
To the point.
Tanya came to me and saidPastor Holly, are you okay?
I'm like, I'm fine.
(31:10):
Thank you for asking.
I am fine.
God's just doing the work in me.
It's good Because you know Iwasn't that zealous person.
Come on, let's go.
I was quiet before the Lord andI'm sitting there and I'm
sitting there, just God.
(31:31):
In our life, like I said earlier, I am always asking for
direction.
I need direction.
I need direction for Table Talk, ministries, like in my
personal life.
I'm solid, but Table Talk hasalways been up in the air.
It's just I want more for it.
You know, because I'm going 90miles an hour and all of a
(31:56):
sudden, y'all can believe thisor not, but this is the truth of
anything I've ever seen in thespirit in my life.
They are praising andworshiping.
You know how loud that gets?
Loud, loud, loud.
And I'm just standing thereseeking his face beside the
(32:16):
still waters, just meditating onthe word of God, and all of a
sudden I hear Holly Above theworship.
Holly and I looked and what Isaw?
Unbelievable.
(32:38):
There's Jesus.
He has on an oatmeal color gownwith a brown wrap around it and
he is standing in a field ofwheat and this weed is blowing.
And he says I'm here.
I'm like, oh my gosh, whateverin the world could that mean?
(33:06):
I am telling you life-changing,life-changing.
So I press into worship.
They pray for everybody.
We have deliverance on one ofour friends.
The day goes on and here is aspiritual mother of mine
(33:29):
Actually, it's Judy that's goingto speak next week and I said
to her I said Judy.
I said I've seen the mostamazing thing.
I said Jesus was standing in afield of wheat on a mount and he
said here I am, I'm right here.
And he said here I am, I'mright here and Judy said oh,
(33:54):
holly, that's the weed in theterror Right, the weed in the
terror, terror.
And I'm like well, what's that?
And she's like well, honey, you're the weed.
I said I'm the weed, I'm theweed.
I said, what?
Said what's the terror?
She said it's the weeds.
I said, oh my gosh, thank god,I'm not a weed, I'm a terror.
I mean, I am the wheat.
(34:18):
You, how amazing to be the wheatand not a weed.
See, I'm with him.
I'm with him, and wherever hegoes, I will follow.
Wherever he leads, wherever theSpirit leads me, I will follow.
(34:38):
And so, at this time, he saysnothing, you do nothing.
You serve me with all of yourheart, amen, amen.
So I want to read thatscripture to you.
It's in Matthew 13, 24.
It says another parable he putforth to them, saying the
(35:02):
kingdom of heaven is like a manwho sows good seed in the field.
But while the man slept, hisenemy came and sowed terrors,
weeds among the wheat.
And when it went his way, butwhen the grain had sprouted and
produced a crop, there wereweeds also.
(35:23):
There were also weeds.
So the servant, the owner, cameand said to him sir, did you not
sow good seed in your field.
How then is there weeds?
And he said to him the enemy.
The enemy has done this.
(35:43):
And the servant said to him doyou want me to go?
Do you want us then to go andgather them up?
No, well, let them grow uptogether, then we will uproot
the weeds so that the wheat willnot be disturbed.
(36:06):
Okay, so the farmer, thecharacteristics the farmer is
the son of man, the field is theworld.
The field is the world.
The seed, the good seed, wasthe son of the kingdom, the
(36:32):
weeds was the evil one, theenemy.
The harvest is at the end ofage and the reapers are the
angels.
So the farmer who sows goodseed in his field, the enemy
(36:54):
secretly planted those weeds.
And so how many of us heretoday Are wheat but the enemy
has planted weeds in our field?
Got you distracted?
(37:21):
The farmer, the seed he sows isthe word of God, the enemy he
sows false teachings, evilinfluence.
Amen.
(37:47):
Anyone recognize that in yourlife?
What are weeds in our life?
They are all unwanted thingsthat creep in over our lives
before we know it has evenhappened.
And as these weeds creep in toour harvest field, they choke
out.
They choke out the life, thelife-giving flow of Jesus Christ
(38:11):
.
See, we are the wheat.
The weeds are Satan and allthat crud that he tries to grow
in our lives.
You know, the one thing that hesows, that he is so good is
that deception, deception.
See, jesus says keep your eyesfixed on me, keep your eyes
(38:35):
fixed on me.
Satan comes along, brings alittle deception person.
You know, it's like squirrelthat's shiny Squirrel.
Right, god says keep your eyesfixed on me, keep your eyes
fixed on me.
Ungodly weeds are distractionsthat prevent spiritual growth.
(38:56):
Listen, with Dave and I, daveand I, we have to come to a
place in our life where we arein a good place, where we are
both growing together.
All right, that right, dave.
We both grow together here.
But, like Pastor Michael said, dave is the head of our
household and I do submit to him.
(39:18):
But I have an opinion, I have athought.
We rash it.
Sometimes I win, sometimes hewins, sometimes it's just an
awesome compromise, okay, butwhen he thinks one thing and I
think another, we pray, god, wewant your perfect will in this
situation, not Dave's, notHolly's, yours, because that's
(39:41):
the will we will follow.
You know, we will be led by theSpirit of God.
Every decision you make in yourlife.
You should pray about that.
Seek God, don't just fly by theseat of your pants.
You're going to end up flat onyour face.
Amen, believe me, we've beenthere Years, years, years ago,
(40:05):
before we knew.
But listen, you can't say youdon't know, because Pastor
Michael and I, we tell you.
And before you knew, ah, youweren't responsible, but now
you're responsible.
Amen, amen, amen.
So ungodly weeds, worry health, jobs, things that take our focus
(40:29):
off of God and onto situations.
Now listen, I know what it'slike to be sick, but you know I
was talking to a lady at theconference.
I pray for myself.
God, heal me.
When I had acid reflux, gerd, Iprayed for myself.
I know the scripture, psalms103, bless the Lord, o my soul
(40:54):
and all that is within me thathe will deliver me from all of
my illnesses.
Amen, pray for yourself.
Go to bed at night, anoint yourhands wherever you're sick.
Pray for yourself All weekend.
Diver's techolytis I'm tellingyou, it gave me the worst pain
in my side and it moved down mystomach.
(41:15):
And you might not believe it,but that pain makes you feel
crippled.
It's hard to walk.
Every step is a jar.
Every step hurts your tummy,it's unbelievable.
But you're my healer, father.
I thank you, father, that youknow there is absolutely no
(41:36):
diversectolitis in heaven.
So how is it in me?
It's not In the name of Jesus.
I declare it's not Well.
Don't hurt.
I declare it's not well, don'thurt today.
Praise the lord.
Praise the lord.
Pray for yourselves.
Lay hands on yourself.
Lay dave, he's sleeping.
He has no idea.
(41:57):
Half the time my hands are allnoined up and I'm praying for
him.
The other morning I was in I oh, I don't know.
I had some stuff come at mesideways and I was so frustrated
when I went to bed and I musthave really been stirring in my
sleep because when I woke up hehas his hands on my hands.
Lord Jesus put the helmet ofsalvation on her.
(42:17):
Clear all confusion.
But thank God for a husbandthat will do that, amen.
Thank God for a wife that willdo that, amen.
Thank God for a wife that willdo that.
Just like Pastor Michael said, nobody prays more for Dave than
me.
Amen.
Listen, when you ask me to prayfor you, I'll pray for you.
(42:38):
But ain't nobody going to prayfor you like you're going to
pray for you?
Amen.
Nobody's going to pray for Daveand I, like I'm going to pray
for us, like he's going to prayfor us.
Nobody's going to pray for Daveand I, like I'm going to pray
for us, like he's going to prayfor us.
Nobody's going to pray for Tinaand Mark like Tina's going to
pray for him, because you knowwhat we value each other.
When people say, hey, will youpray for me?
Sure, I'll get to it.
No, stop right there and say, hey, let's pray right now.
(43:00):
Let's pray right now, let'spray right now.
And so the enemy comes to getour focus off of God.
One of the weeds I'm tellingyou is a lying spirit.
You know, in John 8, 4, 4, ittells us that Satan is the
(43:24):
father of liars.
The father of liars, and if youare caught in that snaggly
little trap, you're being led bythe wrong father.
Amen, amen.
It also says in Revelations 21,8,.
(43:44):
Now, this is hard to buckle up.
There is no room in heaven fora liar.
Little wait, little wait,little.
Because you know what?
There ain't no gray area in God.
He's all light.
Amen, amen, amen, amen.
(44:10):
So other weeds that get sowedinto our wheat is greed,
jealousy, arrogance.
Let me tell you about jealousy.
I know I know, am I late?
Okay, jealousy.
Let me tell you about jealousy.
I know, I know, am I late?
Okay, jealousy.
I sniff it and I can see it amile away.
(44:31):
If anybody has jealousy againstme, you bet you I already know
it, because it smells like soffaand it's a big old green fluff
all around you.
So if you hold jealousy, theHoly Spirit knows it, and by
George, he gave me a gift.
(44:51):
I know it too.
And so lay that thing down, ripthat root up.
Don't operate in jealousy.
It will hinder your whole lifewanting what somebody else has.
Well, maybe, if you just think,if I get on my own path, god
might give that to me too, but Ithink I'm just going to stay
(45:12):
over here and want what theyhave, amen.
Maybe you desire to preach theword, maybe you desire to have
ministry in the church, butyou're so busy concentrating on
what that person has that you donot begin to walk out your own
walk.
Dig into the word of God.
(45:33):
God, how can I become a pastor?
I remember the first time I evertold somebody I wanted to be a
pastor.
I was about 19 years old and Isaid to Pastor Dan Milburn
Pastor Dan, I want to be apastor.
And he says, are you sure?
I'm like, yes, I'm sure that'swhat I want to be, that's what I
(45:53):
want to be, that's what I wantto do.
And from then on I've been on apath, but I never, ever coveted
his ministry.
I knew I could glean from it,but I never was jealous, never,
ever in my life would I bejealous of Pastor Michael.
(46:14):
I am how do I say that?
Like I exalt him.
I'm just like you go, pastorMichael, you go, go go, because
in my heart of hearts I'm veryproud of our pastor.
You know, truth of the truth.
(46:38):
He just kind of threw into thewolves, yeah, but look, look
what God, look what the Lord hasdone and that you and I, we get
the great privilege of sittingunder his ministry and allowing
him to shepherd us.
And maybe he'll have to leavethe 99 sometime to come get you.
But you know what he will He'llcome get you and he'll bring
(47:00):
you home.
And you know what?
The prodigal.
What did they do with theprodigal, my gosh?
They got him a beautiful robe, put a ring on his finger, they
killed the fatty calf.
The best was for that one thatleft.
I know that's a littledifferent story, but it all
chimes Amen, amen.
(47:23):
And so another thing that wehave to do to get rid of weeds
in our wheat, we need toprioritize.
Is that a bad word?
Prioritize?
Prioritize our time.
I remember one time years agowe was having a woman conference
and I had this ratty old watchand God said give me your time.
(47:45):
There you go.
From that moment on, god had mytime.
It was an activation, so justgive your time to the Lord.
You say, well, I have to work, Ihave kids and I have a house to
clean, and I have this and Ihave that.
Hey, I have to work, I have ahouse, I have a husband.
(48:09):
But you know what?
Seek ye first the kingdom ofGod and all these things shall
be added unto us.
Amen.
You know, wednesday nights onehour.
Kingdom of God and all thesethings shall be added unto us.
Amen.
You know, wednesday night onehour.
I usually have everybody out ofhere by a quarter of eight,
unless the Holy Spirit's moving.
Wednesday night, one hour, outof your day, out of your week.
(48:34):
What are you going to give thismorning Two.
Wednesday night one.
What are you going to give thismorning, two.
Wednesday night one what elseAny other time?
Women's meeting, couple hours, you know, notch it out, stay
with it, stick with it,prioritize your time.
You know, in the last days itsays in the book of Timothy that
(48:59):
what Satan's going to do iskeep us busy, Busy, busy, busy,
busy, busy, busy, busy, so busythat we can't even serve the
Lord.
And do you know, it's okay towatch it on the internet, it's
okay to hear it through thephone or however you do that.
But there is nothing like beingassembled together with the
body of Christ, being assembledwith your brothers and your
(49:22):
sisters.
Help carrying one another'sburdens, praying for one another
, loving one another, going outto lunch with each other.
You know we are family.
When you asked Jesus Christinto your heart, you became a
part of the family of God, amen.
(49:44):
So when your family is havingevents and having dinners, do
you go to them?
Yes, so when your church familyhas an event or a dinner,
should you come to it?
Yes, make yourself available Ifthe doors are open.
(50:05):
Be in church.
It's going to be lots betterthan watching that.
Hey, 911, chicago Met, chicago.
What Fire?
Because you know those are onWednesday night.
Yeah, so isn't it better to bein the presence of God than in
(50:28):
the presence of, I'm going tosay, cbs?
I don't know, I'm just sayingAmen, amen.
So how do we uproot theseungodly weeds?
First of all, we practicediscipline.
Father God, I am determinedthat this year I am going to do
(50:53):
such and such and such for you.
Then carry through, not justthe first week of January, not
the third week of January.
Come July, say whoo-hoo, I'mstill doing it, jesus, I'm still
on track with you.
I got my eyes fixed on you, jesus, I'm not being distracted.
That should fuel your fire.
(51:14):
That should give you someserious whoo smoke in the spirit
.
Amen, do you look at it that way?
Do you look at it that way?
Well, there's a new perspective.
You know, we have to recognizethe weeds that have taken root
in our life.
But God, he is patient.
(51:39):
Aren't you thankful he'spatient with us?
I'm thankful he's patient withus.
You know he gives us time.
Then he might take you behindthe woodshed a little bit if you
don't smarten up real quick, you know, and go back here and
give you the business.
Martin up real quick, you know, back here and give you the
(52:01):
business.
So I think, a weed that wereally need to uproot and rip
out is surrender.
Because that's what we have todo to get over our busyness, to
(52:22):
get over distractions, to getover blowing with the wind.
We have to surrender.
This morning in the prayer room, I asked them to build an altar
up on their hearts this morningand surrender all to Jesus.
Surrender all them things thatkeep you so busy, all those
things that get you distracted.
(52:42):
You know Satan is not going tobring something to you that
looks like an old piece of dirt.
Would you be interested in achunk of dirt?
Would you be interested in achunk of dirt?
(53:04):
Would you be interested in anold rock?
Would you be interested in apound of dirt this high?
No, but if he brings somethingto you that's shiny and pretty
and bright and sparkling, that'sdistraction.
Somebody's saying to you well,we will probably do this for you
(53:26):
.
This could possibly happen.
Who's speaking to you?
Is that weeds?
That's weeds.
And so we need to surrender ourhearts and our lives and make
(53:47):
God first place.
Amen, because I'm telling youon that mount, with all that
beautiful wheat and my Jesussaying I'm over here.
I'll never forget it.
Life changing, life changing.
(54:09):
Did I have to go through arough patch to get there, of
course, but I had perseveranceand I pressed in and I trusted
that he wasn't going to leave mebecause my mind had that
undeception.
Do not let the enemy bringdeception into your life.
If you feel that how that worksis with deception of people,
(54:35):
when you're with the peopleyou're supposed to be with, you
feel awesome, but when you'rewith people that you're just
acquaintance with, you get offand you feel that off.
And then you come back overhere with your people and you're
like, oh yeah, this happens infamilies, you have that in your
families.
(54:56):
Or you have people in yourfamilies where you're just off
and then you come over here.
It's good.
So this to me, this is thewheat or this is the wheat.
So it's your choice todaywhether you want to live among
the wheat, the beautiful wheat.
(55:16):
I'm beautiful and Jesus sayingI'm over here.
(55:36):
That's amazing to me.
I know it happened to me.
I know it happened to me and Ipray you never have to go that
route where he'll say that toyou, but just have that
experience with Christ.
Amen, amen.
So let's begin to uproot.
(55:58):
See something else?
Oh, another route.
God wants you and I to have anawesome root system.
Psalms 1 talks about the treethat is planted by the living
water and its roots run deep andits leaves never wither.
Never wither, because they'reby the living water, they're by
(56:22):
the word of the Lord, and thatword nourishes them, keeps them
strong.
Amen.
That's where I want to be.
It's by the river of the livingword of God, amen, amen.
So we have to fix our eyes onJesus.
We have to learn to forgive, and that don't mean you forget,
(56:47):
but that means you forgive.
You lay that offense down andyou ask God to forgive you in
that area, and that might takeyou a year, but someday you'll
look back at that and it won'thurt like it did, amen.
So this is my last scriptureGalatians 5.1.
(57:13):
Steadfast, therefore, in theliberty wherewith Christ has
made us free.
Do not be entangled again withbondage.
Do not get entangled in thoseweeds.
Don't let them weeds getwrapped around.
You know what them weeds willgrow.
You in one place.
(57:34):
Hold you right there.
You cannot move forward in thekingdom of God.
Do not get entangled, do notget entangled.
Do not get entangled.
God wants you and I to makespiritual progress and walk in
(57:58):
freedom.
He wants the yoke of bondage tobe broken off of us and he
wants us to be able to standsteadfast in our liberty and who
you are in Christ.
And so this morning, my prayeris that you would remain in the
wheat and do not allow thoseweeds to come and tangle you.
(58:21):
That you would remain in thewheat and do not allow those
weeds to come and tangle you andto get you off the plan God has
for you.
Amen, amen, amen.
Well, I am going to close inprayer and then I'm going to
have them play a song.
Spirit Lead Me, and if youdesire to leave, you may leave,
(58:46):
but if you desire to stay in thepresence of the Lord, I would
gladly pray for you.
Come up to the altar, just letthis song, the words, wash over
your soul and let it benourishment to your root system.
Amen, amen.
