I am thrilled to be joined by Latonya Maley, MPH (they/she) ~ Interim Executive Director of Affinity ~ a social justice organization serving the needs of the Black LGBTQ+ community with a particular focus on Black women. Latonya shares about Affinity's programming + events. We chat about the power of intergenerational + intersectional community as an antidote for isolation, the use of language as the work of liberators, + the energy of unearthing the seeds of our ancestors. They walk us through the process of being witnessed in our authentic selves, engaging in restoration after inevitable interpersonal harm, participating in a collaborative vision, + creating safe spaces, one connection at a time.

The Brothers Ortiz
The Brothers Ortiz is the story of two brothers–both successful, but in very different ways. Gabe Ortiz becomes a third-highest ranking officer in all of Texas while his younger brother Larry climbs the ranks in Puro Tango Blast, a notorious Texas Prison gang. Gabe doesn’t know all the details of his brother’s nefarious dealings, and he’s made a point not to ask, to protect their relationship.
