On October 12, at River Corner Church, Pastor Jeff continued our “8 Commitments” series with “Committed to A Shared Statement of Faith,” drawn from 1 Timothy 4:1–16.

In this message, Pastor Jeff McLain reminded us that good doctrine keeps us anchored when the waves of culture crash against us. Drawing from Paul’s words to Timothy, we were challenged to “train ourselves to be godly,” recognizing that faith, like fitness, requires practice, discipline, and perseverance. Doctrine is not about winning arguments but about shaping our lives and keeping the church healthy and strong. As a community, we are called to stay rooted in Scripture, accountable to one another, and centered on the teachings of Jesus—so that when the world swells with confusion, we remain grounded in truth and grace.

About River Corner Church

River Corner Church is a simple community of Jesus followers, rooted in Scripture, prayer, and life together. We are not driven by flash or size, but by a desire to be faithful right here, right now in the place God has planted us. Since 1760, our church has quietly sought to love God and love our neighbors—gathering around the table, caring for one another, and welcoming others into the presence of Christ. Our hope is not to be impressive, but to be surrendered, formed, and active for Jesus in the ordinary rhythms of daily life.

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
