Speaker 1 (00:37):
The.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Lone.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
Ranger, I'm Ted
Aylong.
How are you my?
Speaker 2 (00:38):
friend.
I was watching the graphicsthere.
That's good.
Buckle up, Buckle up my friends.
This is always funny.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
We started this
several weeks ago, teddy and I
kind of decided we wanted toreally involve the fans into the
show, because that's reallywhat we started out trying to do
.
We wanted to get with the fansand really talk back and forth
with you guys, and this is ouropportunity to do that.
Like I said, we've done thisnow for several weeks and I've
enjoyed it so far, teddy, andI'm looking forward to seeing if
(01:07):
these numbers continue to grow.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Well, you know, I
think they just got to find out
that we're there and I thinkpeople now are getting it.
They know that we're here liveevery week and we're going to be
doing this show plus givingaway free T-shirts, and so the
thing that I really like aboutit is to ask Teddy, you know,
because I'm going to get somequestions, probably, that I
(01:30):
never thought I would hear andto get the opportunity to pick
one of those questions andreally like it myself and
whoever sends that, to get afree after road trip, after
hours T-shirt.
I think that's great.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
And it's really easy
to do, to be a part of the show.
Simply leave your questions andwe'll answer those questions as
we go through the show.
And the one that Teddy likesthe most gets a free as he
mentioned road trip after hourst-shirt and, as a matter of fact
, I'll show you what that lookslike.
Teddy, that's one thing aboutbeing live.
You don't have to be thatstraight up clean about
everything don't try to clean upyour mess okay, you made a mess
(02:01):
, you made a mess good lookingtshirt and it can be yours.
If we use your question and what?
We'll use everybody's question, but if he uses that question as
his favorite, you win.
That's simple.
I have to like it, you have tolike it.
Look here, while we're waitingfor everybody to get into the
room.
And I do want to mention thatif you're watching us right now,
(02:22):
please share this feed.
Let everybody know that we arelive right now.
Participate in the conversationand, again, we're trying to grow
these numbers, as Teddymentioned earlier on.
And the one thing I noticed, teddy, was last week, our live
numbers.
You know they've been slowlygrowing over the time that we've
started, but the viewsafterwards on YouTube, you, if
(02:46):
I'm not mistaken, I think we'reup around 6,000 for last week,
which is really good for a showthat we were really only even
trying to push for what?
Three months, a couple of weeks?
Yeah, well, a couple of weeks, yeah, I'm sorry.
Yeah, so I mean this.
This is a.
We're enjoying this.
Please help us grow this, andthat simply means share.
Let everybody know we're here.
Let's see how many people wecan get into the room at one
(03:07):
time.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
And let me give a
shout out.
I'm going to give a shout outto my man, michael Steele.
He's always with us every week, man, so I just want to give a
big shout out to him.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
Yeah, you know, I
haven't seen him in the room yet
, but I'm sure he'll pop in herebecause he's been here on every
show since we've started.
You're absolutely correct.
Uh, before we get into some ofthe questions, uh from the, from
the viewers here, let me askyou about uh, you know we're
closing in on eliminationchamber and wrestlemania, teddy,
but we haven't seen john cena, the rock, randy orton or roman
(03:41):
reigns, and we already know whatthe main events basically are
going to be for WrestleMania, which will be, let's see,
champion Gunther versus Jey Uso,and we know that the champion,
cody Rose, will end up facingsomebody from an Elimination
Chamber, but those other namesare nowhere in the mix.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
Well, you're trying
to get.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
you want them too
early Is it too early, though
we're not that far away.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
That's how this works
.
Okay, just hold on.
Okay, just hold on, they'regoing to give you what you want.
But if they give it to youright away, that means you're
running the show, and thatdoesn't happen.
They run the show.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
I just you know I've
said this and I think I may have
said this on another show thatwe've done Teddy but I don't
feel that energy that we hadlast year going into
WrestleMania.
It feels flat to me.
The main events are not thatgreat to me.
I keep telling you that's you, yeah, but I'm not the only one,
because you see other peopleonline commenting about the same
(04:38):
thing that this is justsomething that's wrong with this
year's WrestleMania.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Well, there's just
something wrong with y'all.
That's all I can say was wrongwith this year's wrestlemania.
Well, there's just somethingwrong with y'all.
That's okay, because I I don't.
I mean, I see it, it's there.
To me the hype is good.
I was in uh, uh, uh, or wherewas uh, indianapolis, indiana?
I was there with the raw rumblebut yeah, where it?
was.
I was at a big signing there, man and and I mean people were
(05:04):
it was unbelievable, man, howexcited everybody was for that
Royal Rumble.
So if they ain't that excitedfor the Rumble, it'll be three
times that for WrestleMania.
But I think we just got to takeour time, wait it out.
You know they don't want torush everything because things
could change.
You know, you never know whatwill happen there, but I'm
excited about it.
Know, like I said you, you havethe right to have your opinion
(05:24):
and the fans, they have theright to have their opinion, but
I'm excited you know and Iimagine that's the case with
everybody who's watching, somepeople like it, some people
won't, but what are yourthoughts on wrestlemania?
Speaker 1 (05:35):
those of you are
watching or listening right now
what are your thoughts onwrestlemania this year?
Do you feel it has the sameenergy and excitement that we
had this time last year?
Leave us a comment, let us know.
Um, let me ask you too, nowwe've got those two main events,
like I mentioned.
Uh, teddy, you know we have theelimination chamber to decide
who's going to face cody.
We already know jay uso isagainst gunther, with names like
(05:58):
cena, rock, orton and roman.
Where do you see these guysshowing up?
Uh, in wrestlemania.
What would you like to seehappen?
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Well, it's kind of
hard for me to answer that.
You know what I mean.
What I would like to see happenmight not even happen.
So I don't even want to youknow kind of comment on it,
because, like I said, in thebusiness, now the business has
changed, you don't know whichway they're going.
You know what I mean and Ithink that's good so they can
keep people from you know.
You know like oh.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
I know what they're
going to do now you know what I
mean.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
So, like I said, I
just like to sit back and I just
like to watch and see if I wasright about something, or if I
was wrong about something, or ifI was halfway right or halfway
wrong.
So we just, we just got to waitand see what's going on now.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
I know you tossed
around an idea on our other show
that we do with Sportskeeda, and you had mentioned that you
wouldn't have a problem withRock and Cena.
And when you said that, thatwas really Teddy, I'll be honest
with you.
I couldn't see John Cena inWrestleMania in any big match.
It just wasn't working for me.
But when you mentioned that Ican see John Cena and the Rock
(07:04):
facing each other as anattraction match, it doesn't
take away from anybody else onthat card or anybody in the
company, and it makes everybodyget a win-win, wouldn't you
agree?
Speaker 2 (07:13):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
Yes, where would you
go?
Let's say, we do get Cena andwe do get the Rock.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
I would go with the
Rock, would you really?
And I would have Rock come outand cut one of the biggest
promos to embarrass him of hislife.
And Rock can do that.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
Yes, and he's got
ammo to do that.
Because, teddy, I mean, let'sface it it wasn't that long ago
that John Cena was busting theRock's balls about being in
Hollywood and saying he cameback to work in the WWE.
But he really wasn't, he wasjust there for special occasions
.
Well, you know, whatever youwant to call him John Cena
(07:50):
hypocrite, very possibly becausehe's doing the same exact thing
.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
He's doing the same
exact thing.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
You're damn right,
and that's where I think the
story could be.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
I'd like to see Rock
cut one of those promos on him,
because sometimes them promosare so good, man, they'll shut
you down, oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
We've seen both of
them go back and forth in promos
in the past and, uh, I meanI've seen the rock leave John
speechless and I've seen John dothe same thing with the rock.
They're really good.
That's the reason I like thatidea, because I can see the
buildup for that, and a lot ofthat's just trash talk, and if
you can do that leading up to it, that kind of gives me the
(08:28):
excitement that I'm looking for, cause I want to see what I feel
is a fight going on.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
Well, sometimes it's
real talk.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
Oh, that's true too.
Now I'm sure the rock has notforgotten that.
You know, john Cena was givinghim crap all those years ago.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
I can't wait to, like
all those years ago.
I can't wait to, like I said,we don't know yet, but if it
happens, I can't wait to seeRock that promo he's got for him
.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
Yeah, I agree, and
when you said that, like I said
the other day, when youmentioned that, I just kept
thinking, man, that would begreat, that would be something I
would watch.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
Yeah, because I'd
like to rock, to just shut him
down.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
Yes, yes Again, if
you want to get into the
conversation here, all you haveto do is leave a comment and
we'll throw it up on the screenand Teddy will answer anything
you ask.
You may not like it, but hewill answer it and also the one
that he chooses as the bestquestion of the evening.
We'll get a free road tripafter hours T-shirt.
So make sure you get thosequestions in.
(09:21):
Teddy Carlito I just noticedrecently commented on his final
match to maybe be againstDominic Mysterio.
Have you heard this?
No, I haven't.
It's pretty cool.
He says quote you know, itwould probably be kind of like
it's a hair match, like hairversus something, hair versus
(09:42):
mustache against DominicMysterio.
That may be it, yeah, and thenmaybe I get my head shaved and
ride off into the sunset.
I like that idea.
When's the last time we've seena hair versus hair match, a
real hair versus hair match, andthese two guys could pull that
off?
Yes, yes, I agree, that'sanother possible WrestleMania
(10:05):
moment we might get, orsomewhere down the line, because
, I agree, I would like to seethat and carlito has earned his
way to that, don't you think?
Speaker 2 (10:12):
oh, he's a phenomenal
worker man outstanding.
I had the opportunity to do inmy career.
I had the opportunity to workwith him.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
What a great guy to
work with now when carlito, when
you had you worked with himone-on-one on several occasions,
correct?
Yes, any memories with Carlitoyou can share.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
Well, the last promo
we did, I think he was trying to
get me fired and then theMcMahon come out and reinstated
me and straightened all that outand he got ready to take the
apple, to take a bite of theapple, and he threw it up and I
caught it and I bit the apple.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
Now.
So that was like I mean, youhad to be ready to catch that
apple too.
Yeah, because otherwise, I mean, if you missed the apple, you
were alive, right?
Speaker 2 (10:51):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
If you had missed
that apple, you'd have been
chasing an apple on TV.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
Well, I'd have been
chased out when I got in the
back.
Yeah, I bet you would have.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
This would have been
cutting a promo on me.
Let's see Central Travel Sports.
Hi guys Still remember drivingdown 64 West from Richmond,
virginia, and Teddy Long flew byin a Lincoln town car.
We caught up and he rolled downhis window and screamed what's
up player?
Awesome memory, teddy, do you?
Speaker 2 (11:23):
remember that?
No, I probably was heavyintoxicated at that time.
I don't remember that.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
You're honest, right?
Dave Crone, do you still stayin touch with the Mokies?
Speaker 2 (11:39):
I did see the Mokies.
It's been a while, I mean maybethree or four years.
I went to Winston-Salem for theWrestlecade up there that they
have every year and I had achance to see the Malkish there,
man.
They both of them are stillfunny, great guys, man.
I enjoyed seeing them because Ihad a chance to referee some of
their matches and to reallywork with them back in the day.
(11:59):
So it was good to see theMalkish.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
And let's see what
else we have here.
Jim Hoffer, hey brother, howyou doing With the rumors of
demolition possibly going intothe Hall of Fame this year?
Do you have any stories withthem and how do you feel about
them being called a ripoff ofLOD?
Speaker 2 (12:18):
Well, I don't have
any experience with well, both
of them I had a chance to workwith.
I had to work with Bill Leedymore than I've worked with
anybody when I startedrefereeing.
Bill Leedy was a mad superstarback in the NWA days, so working
with him was great.
He was what a phenomenal workerin the ring.
So that's what I remember aboutBill and the other guy when
(12:38):
I've refereed a lot of hismatches too.
So I don't think they should be.
They're not no ripoff of LOD.
I don't.
They've been in, I've seen them.
That style is whole, totallydifferent from the LOD.
I mean, you've got a right tohave your opinion, but I don't
see that.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
You know it's funny
because I do.
I think that's only because Isaw the Road Warriors first.
That was my first exposure toanything like that and so I grew
up watching that, and when Isaw the LOD come in I did feel
like they were trying to stealmaybe a little bit from the Road
Warriors.
They may not have been exactlylike them, but there was
(13:17):
obviously an intent.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
Here's why I think
the people got that mixed up is
when I think they should neverput the paint on.
If they ever put the paint on,I think that may not ever happen
, but people start linking itwhen the demolition put the
paint on.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
So that's where I
think that come from patrick
soans popping in saying helloplayers, hey I know, patrick,
how are you?
Speaker 2 (13:39):
patrick, hadn't heard
from you in a long time.
Another nice guy, mac patrick.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Now, where's patrick?
Where is he?
Patrick?
Where are you from, by the way,if you're still with us where
you're from?
I know that I've seen this nameseveral times and he's from
down here in georgia.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
You probably met him
on some of the independent shows
oh okay, oh, that makes sense.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
That makes why I
understand his name's kind of
rocking around in my head alittle bit here.
Yeah, so look here I saw whereMatt Hardy had commented on a
recent edition of the ExtremeLife of Matt Hardy and he said
he was talking about thecraziest fan interaction and how
it came.
And it came through the US MailTeddy, get this.
(14:19):
He says, quote we had a PO boxand there was this young lady
who sent me a vial of her blood.
In the note she said, quotewe've met and I know you and I
know you don't know me well, butwe are connected, we are linked
.
I need you to take this blood, put it into a syringe and put it
(14:44):
into your own blood vessels.
If you put my blood into yourblood vessels, then give me a
vial of your blood.
This is my return address andit will always be linked.
We can always feel one anotherend quote.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
And so there's still
vampires around.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
Man, have you ever
had something that freaky with a
fan before?
Always feel one another endquote and so there's still
vampires around.
Man, have you ever hadsomething that freaky with a fan
before?
That's a vampire.
You ain't kidding, you wantvials of blood.
Something's bad wrong with you,I'll tell you.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
If somebody sends me
a vial of blood, I'm going to
take their address and name andI'm going to give it to the
police.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
I remember my first
time of having a fan in radio
and the guy that I was livingwith leaves the door open all
the time.
I worked overnight, so I wasworking midnight to six and then
I'd get in, you know, get somesleep in and wake up around
lunch.
Well, my roommate decided thathe'd leave the door open and let
the pizza girl, who's had a hotfor me for a while, just walk
into the room.
(15:42):
I woke up and this freaky chickwas in my room, butt naked,
teddy, butt naked, trying tomove into the bed with me
because she was that freakingnuts.
There are people out there likethat that really think there's
a connection just because theysee you on TV or because they
hear you on the radio.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
Oh, I've had that
problem.
I've had those stalkers.
Okay, I know about all that, but see you, get away from them,
they're trouble.
Yes, yes, I just told you wherehe's from North Atlanta.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
Let's see.
We also got Jim back in here.
Can't wait to catch up with youguys at SICW Fan Fest 3.
We are looking forward to that.
That is coming up May 16th and17th.
If you want tickets and to findout who all is going to be
there, because Teddy and I willboth be there Bill Apter will be
there.
There's a whole list of namesthat will be there.
This event is really good.
(16:35):
Teddy and I have been everyyear for the last several years
since they started and I cantell you this is one of the
better ones that we go to.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
And this year, you
know, it's really going to be
special for me, because they'vealready contacted me and told me
that they're going to be givingme the Lifetime Achievement
Award.
So that's something that a lotof people don't get, and to get
that, you know that's reallyspecial, and I'd like to thank
Herb Simmons and his staff, andalso you, mac.
You know you made all thispossible too, so we'll see you
at SICW.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
You want tickets for
that?
Go to SICWorg.
That's where you get all theinformation, let me mention Nick
Rittenhaw.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
He'll beat me up if I
don't mention Nick's name.
Speaker 1 (17:14):
Who's that Nick?
Speaker 2 (17:14):
Rittenhaw had a lot
to do with it too.
Thank you, nick Mac's trying toact like he don't know you.
I don't, nick, who don't makehim any more.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
T-shirts nick as a
matter of fact, and the ones
we're giving away.
Uh, let's see what else we gothere.
We have, uh, tony hunterpopping in.
I got one for that damn good tohear from tony hunter.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
Ladies and gentlemen,
y'all don't know tony hunter,
man, very good friend of mine,uh, one of the greatest all-time
wrestling promoters.
I mean just just absolutely afantastic guy.
I've had the opportunity towork with tony out here on the
independent scene at differentarenas and different stuff.
He always been professionaltake care of your man.
I mean, he's a promoter thatevery guy in this business want
(18:00):
to work for.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
And it's funny, we
were just talking about Herb
Simmons, and Herb and Tonyreally are two promoters and in
the wrestling business it's verydifficult to find promoters
that you can trust.
There's been a lot of hooplaonline about that recently.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
I've been out here
and I had the opportunity to
experience a couple of them andI say a couple because it don't
take, but maybe one time to foolme.
So I've had a chance to be withthat part too.
But, like I said, with TonyHunter, you ain't got to worry
about that.
Your hotel, everything thatneeds to be done is done and,
like I said, I love Herb Simmonsto death.
Don't get me wrong.
But Tony Hunter, he can't matchup to Tony.
(18:38):
I'm going to tell you thatright now Tony is one of the top
.
We need to get him a crown likeking of the promoters or
something like that.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Yeah, we need to get
Tony a crown.
We really do.
Next time we see him we'llprobably see him in Jacksonville
, I would imagine.
Yeah, he'll be there, we'llfind a crown for him and we'll
get him on road trip after hoursand present him with a crown.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
Let's get into
something here hey.
Tony Hunter.
Thank you so much, man, forchecking in.
Man Love you.
Player.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
Let's see, we also
have in here Stephen Bruce.
I believe that's Buddy LeeParker's boy, isn't it, stephen
Bruce?
I think so.
Anyhow, he's saying hello and,as a matter of fact, yes, it is.
I am Sarge Buddy Lee Parker'sson.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
Hey, what's going on,
Stephen?
I know you're a big man now.
It's been a long time sinceI've seen you, man.
Well, thank you for checking in, man.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
All right, what else
we got in here?
We have Patrick Someone'spopping in.
Stephen, tell your dad hello,I've been mia due to major
surgery.
Oh, patrick, I hopeeverything's okay.
I'm finally getting back in thefold.
I hope to see you soon, steven, and uh, let's see also.
Uh well, steven came right backand said, replying to someone's
, I will.
So, teddy, what else we gothere before we run out of time,
(19:48):
because we're going to run outin just a moment?
If you got questions, get themin before we run out of time.
It's only a 30 minute program,so-minute program, so get those
in as soon as you can.
Let me ask you, teddy.
There were a couple questionslast week that I saved over, so
let me mention these while I gota chance.
Samuel, that was in Texas, wasasking Teddy, what was your
go-to move when you were tryingto catch the eye of a woman?
Speaker 2 (20:14):
I didn't have a go-to
move.
I just walked right up to herand said hey, you want to holler
at me?
Speaker 1 (20:24):
He didn't waste money
on drinks.
He didn't waste money on food.
It's like either you do or youdon't.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
No, no, I didn't have
none of that, okay.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
All right, let's see
Cheeky.
And Cherokee also wrote whatwas the single worst thing to
happen to you in your career, and why does it involve John
Laurinaitis?
Speaker 2 (20:46):
Well, I don't want to
talk too much about that
because, john Laurinaitis, Ithink they you know he's in that
mess with WWE and all that.
So I don't want to talk toomuch about it.
But I'll just say this you know, john Lawren Ivers hated me for
some reason.
I have no idea.
I've done my.
That's what really gets me.
I can understand it if I was ascrew-up or somebody that messed
up.
You know what I mean.
(21:07):
I can understand, but I've donemy job.
Vince McMahon would have notkept me in my position for nine
years running his company if Ihad not done my job.
So for somebody to be mad at mefor doing my job and to screw
my pay around and to keep mefrom getting stuff that I
(21:28):
suppose I've been getting, Ican't accept that.
And this man maybe I'm sayingthis and this is a God-heaven
truth this man I walked up tohim and asked him why I didn't
have an action figure and thething he said to me out of my
mouth, that the consumers toldhim that they would not buy my
doll.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
And I still have a
very hard time believing that to
be true at all, because everytime we've talked to people, and
we've talked to people whocollect you know those, uh, and
the action figures or whateverthey want to call them but that
these things are very popularand when you talk to those
collectors, they want a teddylong doll.
They don't want a teddy longdoll and five different person's
(22:06):
packs that you put togetherit's just just like I said.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
I've done my job for
nine years.
Okay, are you gonna tell mesomebody ain't going to buy?
And the person that I went towas Undertaker.
I went to Taker because Takerwas the locker room captain.
Because it hurt me, I went toTaker and I said man, do you
just know what I just?
He just told me and Takerdidn't have no words.
You know what I mean.
How can you say that tosomebody?
(22:30):
So that's all I'm going to sayabout John Laurinaitis.
Like I said, he hated me.
I guess I'll just be straightup with you.
I've done my job.
So the only thing he could hateme was for the color of my skin
.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
Well, imagine that
that wouldn't be the first time
you dealt with that in yourcareer, but it's still at the
same time.
I understand If you're doingyour job Exactly, man yeah,
doing the best I can, butsomebody just comes in that
decides they don't like you andyou're gone.
It's just that freaking easyand that sucks, and he ain't the
(23:01):
only guy.
You know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
I started my job and
there was still people in his
corner that were against me too.
He wasn't the only guy.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
Hey, look here.
I remember your Hall of Famespeech, when you were looking
down at the crowd, at one personin particular, to let them know
basically, F you, I got where.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
I got, without any
help from you, right, exactly so
let's see.
This is what I said to him.
I said, for all you naysayersthat said I would never go
anywhere and I'd never beanything, I told him.
I said God, and Vince McMahonproved you wrong, didn't he?
Speaker 1 (23:34):
Yep, If you want to
go back and figure out who he's
talking about, just watch theHall of Fame speech.
I think you'll probably figureit out.
Let's see what else we got here.
Irving Mike LaRue.
Hey, buddy Teddy, what got youstarted?
On the Undertaker?
Well, I don't understand thatquestion what got me started on
the Undertaker?
Speaker 2 (23:53):
I guess started
working with him maybe.
Well, if I can answer that, youknow me and Taker go way back.
You know, we were in the NWAtogether.
We were in WCW together it's meand Mark Callis.
So we go way back, man, and Iremember the day that Taker left
WCW and went to WWF.
So that's how me and Taker hada relationship and Taker kind of
made it possible for me to meetbest, because when we were
(24:15):
doing the Undertaker thing Imean the thing where Taker
kidnapped me and I was in thecoffin and all that and told me
to buckle up that was VinceMcMahon's idea.
He wrote all that and by mebeing involved in that, I had
the chance to go in and talkwith nobody but Vince and Taker
and I mean that's a big step,but I didn't let that go to my
(24:35):
head, you understand A?
lot of guys they think that nowI'm in here with the balls, you
can't touch me.
That's wrong.
Okay, don't let nothing likethat go to your head.
Accept it.
Thank God that you're in thatposition, but continue to do
your job, and that's what Icontinued to do was my job.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
So that's kind of why
I'm kind of pissed a little bit
.
Man, you know, I really don'tblame you.
I've told you this before,teddy.
You and I've talked privatelyon road trips or anything else
that we've done, and and I'vesaid this and I don't know if
I've just blatantly come out andsaid it the way I'll say it now
but you lost money.
Money was taken out of yourpocket because you had to play
the game and I couldn't Icouldn't even ask for a raise.
No, and that was wrong.
(25:17):
I guarantee you that you didn'tmake nearly as much money as
you should have and had theopportunities that you should
have, because you had to playthe game.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
And that's the only
way I kept a job is I had to
keep playing the game and takethe low money.
That was a referee that wasmaking more money than me.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
Not right at all.
Michael Steele popping in.
Teddy is the GOAT GM.
Yes, he is.
I still believe that I thinkNick Aldis does a pretty good
job right now, though, teddy, what are your thoughts on Nick?
Oh, I love.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
Nick Aldis man.
I talked to him the last time Iwas there.
I love him, man.
He's done an outstanding job.
I think they picked the rightguy for that.
He's mild-mannered, you knowwhat I mean, but when it's time
for him to step up and do thedeal, he's right there.
So I love Nick man.
Good position for him, man, andcongratulations to him and much
success.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
I agree, he feels
authentic, and that's difficult
to do with the GM sometimes, somebody that you feel has true
power.
Teddy, you were that way.
Everybody knew if Teddy said it, that's what was going to
happen.
That's just it.
Teddy's law was law, and I feelthat way with him as well.
Now I feel like Nick has got alittle bit of that kind of look
I'm coming out and you're goingto listen to what I got to say,
(26:24):
or there's going to be an issue, and I like that.
So let's see Jim hopping inasking another question what was
your favorite thing that yousaved during your career?
As a reminiscence?
Speaker 2 (26:36):
I got a pair of my
referee pants that I wore when I
was back in the day referee andI saved them.
I got them right now.
Speaker 1 (26:43):
I think it's kind of
odd too.
I think you've said before youreally don't have much on the
walls from your wrestling careerand stuff like that.
You really don't put that kindof stuff up.
Is that true?
Speaker 2 (26:51):
I got pictures on the
wall.
In fact I'm in my room now.
I got pictures on the wall.
In fact I'm in my room now.
I got pictures of the lategreat Eddie Guerrero.
He's in here.
The late great Chris Benoit ison this wall Right there.
You can't see it.
It's a picture of me onSmackDown.
I got some me, you and NickHoffman there, me and Michael
Cole that's kind of right behindme there.
(27:11):
So I have a few picturesoutside too, man.
So I have a few picturesoutside too, man, boogeyman's on
my wall.
So I got some stuff.
I've been moving by myself, nowjust me and my dog.
So I got a poster there fromBill.
After that I got in 1998 orsomething like that.
Pro Wrestling Illustrated gaveme the award.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
Wow, can you show it
to us yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:32):
Yeah, I'll get over
here.
This is it right here.
Can you see that?
Speaker 1 (27:39):
Yes, I can.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
That's cool.
The Team Award Teddy LongManager of the Year, as voted by
the readers of Pro WrestlingIllustrated Magazine.
Bill After gave me that.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
That's very cool, and
to get something like that from
Bill After at a time toobecause you know we've talked
about this before Teddy likethat from Bill After at a time
too because you know we'vetalked about this before Teddy.
But people, uh, who are youngerreally don't understand the
value of what those magazinesmeant to the wrestling business
at that time, because that wasall we had, yeah, so so to get
an award at that time from BillAfter and to be recognized by
(28:10):
those magazines meant a lot, andactually those type of things
made men's careers inprofessional wrestling.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
And to make a long
story short, so if I was doing
my job back then getting awards?
Speaker 1 (28:23):
what happened.
Imagine that, eddie, you got topick somebody to get a shirt
tonight.
Who are you picking?
Speaker 2 (28:31):
Oh, man, I tell you
what.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
What was your
favorite question?
Speaker 2 (28:35):
It's been some good
questions here.
I think I like I'll pick theone, that where we had to kind
of put the guy a little bit andlet him know that demolition was
not a big rip off of LOD.
So let's give him a T-shirt.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
All right, let me go
back and make sure I can see who
we have here that did that.
I believe that was Jim, wasn'tthat Jim?
Hang on for a minute Listen mymemory is as bad as yours.
I can't get.
I got to get a mouse.
I've learned that.
Now for the screen here.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
Oh, come on Both of
us need to be on yes it was Jim
Jim Hoffers.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
Hey, jim, we'll get
that out.
It's an XL t-shirt, so I shouldbe able to fit that in there.
Perfectly fine, just give usyour address.
If you'll shoot it to me, I'llkeep that private.
It won't come up on the screen, but I'll keep that private, and
then I'll get that in the mailto you and then, as a matter of
fact, we'll see you in St Louis, most likely for SICW FanFest 3,
(29:29):
and if that's the case, teddyTeddy and I will even autograph
that for you, because we likeyou, jim.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
Now we're here for
that autograph.
That's going to be part of thecombo.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
That's part of his
combo.
You've got to talk to him, it'salways business with.
