Wrestling's invisible power dynamics take center stage in this riveting episode as WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long and host Mac Davis pull back the curtain on the forces that truly shape the industry. The conversation kicks off with a critical examination of WrestlePalooza's disappointing C grade from ESPN, prompting Teddy's observation that "ESPN people aren't wrestling people" - highlighting the disconnect between traditional sports analysis and professional wrestling's unique artform.

The discussion deepens when examining the John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar match that fell flat despite featuring two legendary performers. Both hosts lament the lack of compelling buildup and storytelling, revealing how even the biggest stars can deliver underwhelming performances without proper creative direction. This sparks a fascinating exploration of wrestling's most guarded secret: backstage politics and how jealousy can derail promising careers.

When asked about the breakup of the dominant tag team Doom, Teddy delivers the episode's most revealing insight: "They were amazing tag teams... the competition did not care for them being around because they were that damn good." This candid admission illuminates how excellence can sometimes be punished rather than rewarded when it threatens established stars. The conversation continues with speculation about John Cena's retirement opponent, women's wrestling priorities, and Teddy's surprising revelation that he would only return to WWE for Vince McMahon because "with Vince I'll be treated fair and I'll be treated right."

Whether you're a longtime wrestling fan or simply fascinated by the psychology of entertainment, this episode offers rare insider perspective on the invisible power dynamics that determine who rises, who falls, and who gets forgotten in professional wrestling. SPEAKER_02 (00:14):
And it's another Thursday night, which means it's
time for road trip after hours.
I'm your host, Mack Davis, alongwith me, of course, every week,
WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long.
Hey Teddy.

SPEAKER_00 (00:25):
Listen.
Oh that music was just horrible.
And the next thing, you got thenerve to have somebody in that
music screaming in thebackground like they're James
Brown.
Why would you do that to JamesBrown, legendary singer from
Augusta, Georgia?
God rest his soul.

(00:46):
So, ladies and gentlemen, I'mgonna say this right now because
I need help.
Will y'all please start sendingin some music that maybe we
could use for our intro?
Just pick out some and send itto us and let's see if I like
it.
Mac has not a clue about any ofthis music.
It's just horrible.
Horrible.

SPEAKER_02 (01:06):
He thinks we can play radio music, which of
course YouTube would block usfor.
Yes, they did.
Oh, that you did yeah, becauseYouTube flagged us for it.

SPEAKER_00 (01:23):
Oh that's why.
Well, dude, we ain't talkingabout that.
I'm talking about this horriblemusic that I just had to witness
as we came on the air.

SPEAKER_02 (01:31):
That's like late night music, late night.
Uh but it's not late night, it's7 p.m.
Well, look, for you at your age,it is late night.

SPEAKER_00 (01:38):
Not at all.
I don't go to bed early.
I'm not like all those otherseasoned people.
I stay up late.

SPEAKER_02 (01:44):
Well, let me ask you that this is something I never
have asked you.
How late do you stay up atnight?
Because I find as I get older, Ireally do go to bed a little bit
earlier than I used to.

SPEAKER_00 (01:52):
You keep saying you're getting older.
See, I don't use that term.
I'm seasoned.
I didn't say older gettingolder.
You said older.
That spot.
Oh, you don't even use thatword.
Okay.
I'm getting more seasoned.
Thank you very much.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.

SPEAKER_02 (02:08):
I teddy, look here.
In the wrestling world, thebiggest news really is the
WrestlePalooza event that uh WWEuh put on just recently.
And ESPN themselves on the debutof the WWE product on ESPN, ESPN
gave it a rating of a C.

(02:32):
What do you think about thattoday?
I mean, look, I I agree with alot of people who are saying
they expected a lot out of thisshow.
When you go back and look at thedebut of WWE on Netflix, that
was huge.
Big show.
They put a lot behind it.
They put a lot of words behindRussell Palooza, but they didn't
deliver.
I almost felt like that.

(02:54):
Maybe you know, Triple H pulledone of those Tony Khan kind of
moves where he over-promised andunder-delivered.
And I think that's why there'ssuch a sour taste in so many
people's uh mouths right now.
What do you think about thatrating from ESPN?

SPEAKER_00 (03:09):
Well, you know, I think you and I talked about it
earlier.
And, you know, it's like I say,ESPN people, they're not
wrestling people.
So maybe they might haveexpected more to come from
wrestling than what they got.
So maybe they didn't see that, and that's why they rated it
like that.
Because they're used to seeingbig numbers.
But when they see big numbers, they're using big stars, big

(03:29):
sports stars.
So uh I don't I think WWE andTriple A, whatever you know they
did, I think they gave them whatwhat they had.
That's all they could do.
So it was really left up tothem.
But when you're dealing withpeople that are not wrestling
people, it's hard to convincethem and explain to them, you
know, what this is all about.
So I I think they just did whatthey thought they had to do.
And that's I believe that that'sthe way they felt about it.

SPEAKER_02 (03:51):
I I just I well again, I just I didn't like the
program.
I all the way, Teddy.
I tried to watch it live when itwas taking place.
And after the first matchbetween John Cena and Brock
Lesnar, I turned it off.
I I was like, I'll just watchthe rest, you know, the rest of
it tomorrow.
Because it for me, it started soflat that I just like they can't

(04:14):
get any worse than this.
And these were two of the mainones I wanted to see, John Cena
and Brock Lesnar.
And you gave me that.

SPEAKER_00 (04:22):
Well, the thing I think they could have done, they
knew that this was a repeat.
You know, we've seen Brock andand uh uh Cena, you know,
before.
So if you're gonna do a repeat, then look like to me I would do
something to lead up to that.
Maybe I'd have had a locker roomfight, maybe I'd have had Brock
or somebody attack him in thelocker room or something to try
to take him out, so he's notable to even make the match, you

(04:45):
know, something to lead into it.
But that was no, there was nolead in for me.
It was just, you know, hey, it'sseen in Brock.

SPEAKER_02 (04:51):
Yeah, and it happened really fast.
I mean, despite the fact thatthey crossed paths a while back,
they really didn't explainanything until just before the
match, you know, actually tookplace.
And it was a match I was lookingforward to.
But you know, there's a goodchance that he lost uh being
John Cena to Brock Lesnarbecause maybe that's who he's
gonna face in his last match.
And if that's the case, youknow, then Brock puts John over.

SPEAKER_00 (05:14):
Well, if if that's true, you know what I mean, and
then you know, that's really theway to go, you know.
So we'll just have to see ifthat does happen.

SPEAKER_02 (05:21):
But is that who you want to see him wrestling,
though, in his last match?
Brock Lesnar, does that exciteyou?

SPEAKER_00 (05:30):
Well, it's according to who he's wrestling.
That's what would excite me.

SPEAKER_02 (05:34):
That's what I'm saying.
I mean, if does Brock Lesnar andJohn Cena, does that excite you
as a match again?

SPEAKER_00 (05:40):
Well, not me.
I'm not, you know, I'm not likea wrestling fan, you know what I
mean?
So that may a wrestling fan isdifferent, but to me, no, it's
not.
That doesn't excite me at all.

SPEAKER_02 (05:49):
Yeah, I I agree.
I we've seen it, been there,done that.
And I I really don't want to seeit for a third time, not for
John's final match.
Uh, and hopefully that's not thecase.
Maybe uh, you know, maybethey've they're just planning
something completely different.
We're getting a lot of folks inhere, by the way.
If you want to be a part of theshow, all you have to do is
leave us a comment in thecomment section and we'll share
it up on the screen and answeryour questions or uh reply to

(06:11):
your comments.
And pretty classy lady, as wewere talking about
WrestlePalooza, she saysRussalooza was trash.
Uh, it really was not the bestuh effort I've ever seen uh by
WWE.
Uh look here, I'm I'm afraid tosay his first name because I
know I'm gonna say this wrong.
And I'm afraid to say his othername because I don't want to put

(06:32):
I don't want to put him onblast, but this is one of our
independent wrestlers on inGeorgia that uh is on the
screen.
He's passing by, and heybrothers, good to see you.
Uh, if it's okay to put out youruh you know your other name,
just let me know.
We'll throw it up on the screen.
But uh I just don't want to sayit.

SPEAKER_00 (06:46):
What who who is so important that we can't call
their name?

SPEAKER_02 (06:50):
This is one of the independent wrestlers in Georgia
that uh you would know if I saidit, but this is his real name,
and I do not want to give awayhis ring name right now.
Uh why because he may not wantpeople to know what his real
name is, Daddy.

SPEAKER_00 (07:02):
Who cares what his ring name is?
He ought to be able to, he oughtto want somebody to know who he
is everywhere.

SPEAKER_02 (07:08):
Uh Miz John Smith, you know him.

SPEAKER_00 (07:10):
Uh that ain't Miz John.
That's mission.
That's what I said.
Mission.
No, you didn't.
You just said Miz John.
It's Mizion.
Oh, Jesus.
Like Miz, Mission.
Did did Bill have to leave thatany of those pictures cracks
with you or something?

SPEAKER_02 (07:25):
He probably did.
Okay.
He is stopping by saying, Hey,Teddy Long and Mac Davis.
And uh he's also saying that uhTeddy Long is the life of the
party.

SPEAKER_00 (07:36):
Uh oh, well, you know, Miz John, he's the guy
that had the opportunity tomission championship wrestling
over in the out of Detroit.
And uh I had a chance to go up acouple of months ago and work
with him and uh had a great showup there, and uh he did a lot of
things for a lot of his talent.
Uh some of those guys thatworked real hard for him.
You know, he you know put him inthe hall of fame and gave him
plaques and had a nice dinner.

(07:57):
And I mean, he had a great setupfor his talent.
He really looked out for thepeople that that's worked with
him and helped him out over theyears.
So uh I had a great time upthere, man, and I wish them all
the best.

SPEAKER_02 (08:07):
Yeah, he was also a guest on the show.

SPEAKER_00 (08:09):
Uh yeah, him and his son too.
Uh yeah, his son was there.
Got what a great kid he is.
Uh, I involved him in a match, made him special referee.
So that thing was really good.
We had a lot of fun with it.

SPEAKER_02 (08:20):
And he was saying too that Wrestle Palooza was
good, it just missed a few bignames.
Roman, Randy were missing.
Uh yeah, they they were some, but they had enough, I thought,
star power on that show that itcould have been better.
Um, I of course that depends onhow you see Cody Rhodes.
Is Cody as big of a star as theythey allow you to make, you
know, what you believe that heis, or you know, or some people

(08:43):
don't think so.
I think he's doing a great job.
Um, let's see.
When it comes to Zach Minger,he's popping in the room as
well.
He's saying National Comic BookDay, pretty classy lady, Mac and
Teddy.
So you're stopping by saying hi.
Zach's good to see you.
Well, thank you, Zach.
And also Casey Gilbert in here.
Hello, Teddy from Casey Fox.

SPEAKER_00 (09:02):
Okay, Casey Gilbert, you know her, Mac.
She's an indie wrestler, she'sbeen around for a long time.
She's out of the Carolinas.
Uh, she came down and did somework with uh face-to-face at one
time.
So uh good to hear from you,Casey.
Hadn't seen or heard from you ina while.
Hope you're doing good.

SPEAKER_02 (09:17):
I'm gonna have to go back and see if I can remember
who she was.
Uh I'm sure I would though.

SPEAKER_00 (09:21):
She's from the Carolinas.
Uh, she's on she does a lot onthe independent scene and stuff.
So Casey's been around for awhile.
But she came to face to face, she did some work down there
with Faye.
Uh, what was Faye's last name?
Remember Faye?
Golly, I can't think of her lastname.

SPEAKER_02 (09:36):
Damn, Teddy, I don't.

SPEAKER_00 (09:38):
Uh okay, don't worry about it.
Somebody don't know who we'retalking about.
We're talking about Faye uh inthe Carolinas that be with Dre
and all those guys up there, that she's done a whole lot of
work around the Carolinas.

SPEAKER_02 (09:50):
Let's see.
Uh Ms.
John also saying that uh lastmatch should be Edge.
Of course, the problem is Edgeis an AEW for right now.

SPEAKER_00 (10:00):
See, now not now you see why I told you I told him to
leave it alone.
Yeah.
Now you see when I told you Isaid, leave this alone, all
right?
Now you see what he just did.

SPEAKER_02 (10:12):
All right, guys, we gotta step away real quick, uh,
tell you about an importantevent that is coming up in
October.
Uh, and then we're gonna go intothe listener mail bag and take
more of your questions, commentsright here on Road Trip After
Hours.

SPEAKER_01 (10:26):

Fame Awards Ceremony.
Live from Albany, New York.
We welcome the class of twentytwenty-five.

(11:50):
Oh, we do letters, we get theletters, every day.
I love those letters, let's findout what you got today.
Oh boy, today.

SPEAKER_02 (12:19):
Uh bob bop bop bob when it comes to uh music.
He loves that music right there.

SPEAKER_00 (12:24):
No, I do not.

SPEAKER_02 (12:27):
That's another one of the songs he can't stand.
All right, let's get into themailbag.
Uh leave your questions in theroom.
We'll throw it up on the screen.
There's a lot of questionscoming in.
So uh just make sure uh you getin the uh in the group there.
We still have about another 15,20 minutes here, we can go and
uh take all those questions.
Uh let's see.
Uh Milton in Georgia writes,Teddy, with all of the new shows

(12:51):
that WWE is producing, do youthink it's hurting them overall?

SPEAKER_00 (12:58):
Well, I don't know.
We'll just have to wait.
You know, so that certainlycomes in the long run, you know
what's gonna happen.
Uh, I think it's a lot ofwrestling.
I have to agree with you, man.
It is just, I mean, it's justtoo much wrestling.
You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_02 (13:12):
So I that there's a lot of uh of content that the
WWE produces on a weekly basis, not just raw and smackdown.
There's a lot of other programsas well and other things that
they do.
Um, but I go back to the factthat if you're that busy and the
quality of your product isstarting to drop, then you need
to adjust somewhere because youcan't let the product's quality

(13:33):
go down.

SPEAKER_00 (13:34):
Right.
Well, you have to it's like theguys, you have to repackage.
You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_02 (13:39):
You gotta recruit.
Yeah, but right now it justseems like they just want the
money.
Uh, let's see.
Pretty classy lady saying, isTriple H mad and jealous of John
Cena?
And is that why he's ruining hisretirement tour?

SPEAKER_00 (13:54):
I have no idea.

SPEAKER_02 (13:56):
Wouldn't it surprise you that uh past uh, you know,
any problems?
I'm trying to think of a niceway to say this, I'm not gonna
say it nice.
Well, you know, sometimes shitin the back just stays around,
it never goes away, and peoplehold grudges for a long time.
Uh, do you think that that ispossible still in today's
wrestling?
Uh, not necessarily in thiscase, where people can still get

(14:17):
screwed by somebody else.

SPEAKER_00 (14:19):
Oh, yeah, no doubt about it.

SPEAKER_02 (14:21):
Yeah, I I I I I think so too.
And uh, and I I kind of knowwhat uh she's trying to say.
Uh, let's see.
Uh-huh.
Skrilla.
Uh Skrilla.
Okay, here's somebody that's anindependent wrestler in the
state of Georgia.
Uh, that uh is somebody that Iwould I I enjoy seeing.
Skrilla the great is in here,Teddy.

(14:43):
You know Skrilla.
Uh yeah, yeah.
He uh he stopped by earlier anduh just want to make sure that
uh we said hello to him.
Skrilla really, I don't know howpeople have not seen more in
him.
The talent that this kid has isreally, really deep.
And you need to check on Skrillathe Great if you haven't done so
already.
He's in Georgia, I'm sure he'soutside Georgia as well in South

(15:05):
Carolina and places like that.
Uh he does one hell of a job.
Uh, Chris in the room.
Hey, Chris.
Uh, by the way, we got a pictureof him.
I need to find for next week uhto put up of him in our t-shirt
because he was one of ourt-shirt winners uh on a previous
episode, which by the way, Teddywill pull uh somebody's question
from tonight to be tonight'swinner of a free t-shirt uh from

(15:27):
Road Trip After Hours.
And Chris says, Hey, you betterdo what Teddy says, or he'll get
uh D Lo to do you like he didTommy Dreamer with that kendo
stick.
You know, Teddy, uh have youever been hit by foreign objects
in wrestling?
I mean, like kendo sticks oranything like that.
Have you ever taken one of thosekind of shots?
Yeah.

(15:47):
Let me ask you because I've beenhit with a lot of things.
I've been hit with chairs, I'vebeen hit with bricks, uh, I've
been hit with a lot of crazyshit.
But uh the kendo stick hurt me,I think, more than anything else
that it was ever upon my body.

SPEAKER_00 (16:02):
It feels like you've been shocked.

SPEAKER_02 (16:04):
Oh man, it is horrible.
And just the sound itself.
I know a lot of people thinkthat it gives a lot when you hit
somebody.
I'm telling you, I have hadwhelps that have lasted for a
week or more from a kendo stick,uh, more so than anything else I
have ever been hit with.
Those sons of guns hurt and theyhurt bad.

SPEAKER_00 (16:22):
Yeah, I will.
Yes, they do.

SPEAKER_02 (16:25):
Yes.
Uh, let's see, Seth Turner.
Now, this is uh with the, ofcourse, the uh International
Professional Wrestling Hall ofFame.
Uh, he is the leader of theentire outfit.
And Seth saying, is that mad dogMac Davis?
Uh, I gave him hell because hegot that wrong recently, but
it's good to have you in here,Seth.
Looking forward to seeing yousoon, brother.
Uh, same thing, uh Seth.
Uh, I look forward to it.

(16:46):
I always do every year.

SPEAKER_00 (16:47):
All right, holla back, Seth.

SPEAKER_02 (16:49):
Scott Lance.
Hey, Mac and Teddy.
Hope y'all are doing well.
Teddy, why did WCW split Doomup?
They were an amazing tag team.

SPEAKER_00 (16:59):
You just answered it.
He just answered his ownquestion.

SPEAKER_02 (17:05):
Oh, well, and explain what you mean, though,
because a lot of people it mayhave gone wrong.

SPEAKER_00 (17:08):
That's why they were split up, because they were
amazing tag teams.

SPEAKER_02 (17:12):
Yeah, yeah.
They did the competition did notcare for them being around
because they were that damngood.
Uh yeah, that's what Teddy'stalking about.
Yeah, it's and it's sad.
And we're just talking about howpeople can ruin, uh, ruin
something for a person's uh, youknow, push or anything else
because they have animositiesfrom something else.
Uh, and uh in one of thesecases, it is jealousy, and

(17:33):
jealousy lives in the lockerrooms of professional wrestling.

SPEAKER_00 (17:36):
Yeah, it's always somebody worried about somebody
taking their spot, and they'lldo anything to you to say their
spot.
They don't care.
What some people I can't say itabout everybody, but there's
some people that do care andhave a heart.
But the majority of these guys, they don't give a shit about me
or nobody else.

unknown (17:53):
Nope.

SPEAKER_02 (17:53):
All right, let's see.
Pretty classy lady popping insaying, Cena's last match should
be versus cowboy Bob Orton.

SPEAKER_00 (18:01):
Is that a joke?

SPEAKER_02 (18:02):
Uh yeah, I think she's being funny.
Yeah.
And Benjamin, uh, good to seeyou in here, Benjamin.
Uh, why did the Oksana storylinestop us uh Oksana?
Uh, and would you be happy forher if she went into the WWE
Hall of Fame, the same asStephanie McMahon uh the other
day?
Thank you very much.

SPEAKER_00 (18:21):
Well, yeah, so uh uh Oksana's story started because I
think they they weren't reallyhappy with her.
So, and I think that she gotreleased right after that.
So I don't know.
I thought she was very good, youknow, with the accent because
she really was from the anothercountry, you know.
I thought that you know put alot of life into it.
But uh, like I said, she wasreleased right after that.
So I don't know.

(18:42):
Maybe it's like I said, somebodywasn't happy with her, and I
don't think you'll ever see hergoing into the Hall of Fame.

SPEAKER_02 (18:48):
And here's one of our uh independent uh wrestling
fans that come around to a lotof shows.

SPEAKER_00 (18:53):
Yeah, that's Ellen.
I know her.
She always comes with hergrandson.
I think that's her grandson.

SPEAKER_02 (18:58):
And that's her that's her son.
That's her son.

SPEAKER_00 (19:00):
That's her son.
All right, all right, all right, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, I know Ellen.
She's a great woman and a son.
I love him.
I always have something to givehim when I see him.

SPEAKER_02 (19:08):
Yeah, you know, I I think we may have talked about
him before on the show, but uh,she takes him everywhere.
If he wants to go see wrestling,I mean, there's not a weekend I
can think of where she's notwell at a wrestling show on at
least a Friday, Saturday, if nota Friday, Saturday, and a
Sunday, uh, where she will takehim anywhere to make his heart
full.
And I gotta tell you, I a lot ofrespect for Ellen because I've

(19:30):
seen what she's done over theyears.
Uh and props to you.
Um let's see, Wilson in Texas,Teddy, if you could have been in
any storyline, what would youhave liked it to have been?

SPEAKER_00 (19:45):
Well, I really never thought about that.
I mean, I had enough stuff on myown plate, you know, so I never
did think about doing nothingelse.
Only thing I really well, Idon't regret it.
I don't think I really wasdidn't like well, I'll say I
wasn't happy about is I nevergot a chance to work with Hogan
for his doing a story.
Uh I don't even think I had achance to even do a promo with
him or anything.

(20:06):
So that that was something Iwould have uh liked to have
done.

SPEAKER_02 (20:08):
Was there ever something creatively that you
always, you know, you drivearound thinking, man, you know,
one day I'd like to do the storyand I'm doing this, and you
know, this this would be reallycool, you know.
But you it just never happened.

SPEAKER_00 (20:20):
Well, no, I never even thought about it because I
knew whatever I presented, itwasn't gonna happen.

SPEAKER_02 (20:24):
Yeah, well, okay, yeah.
There's no drive to think aboutit if you know it's not gonna
happen.
Right.
Uh let's see.
Uh Mijan uh Mijan, I'm sorry, saying, Houston, Jinya said he
loved the night you ordered MarkHenry to take out Goldberg.

SPEAKER_00 (20:40):
Okay, yeah, that was back uh in my heel days.

SPEAKER_02 (20:43):
Look, I want to mention too, uh, keep getting
your questions in here.
We'll keep throwing them up onthe screen.
I did want to bring up, I forgotto do this at the start of the
show.
Uh Santino Morella says thathe's pretty confident that TNA
will surpass AEW as the numbertwo company in wrestling.
What do you think about that?
I think so.

(21:04):
I think it's very possible.

SPEAKER_00 (21:06):
Yeah, yeah.
Like I said, I just don't liketo talk.
Uh, you know, and I'm just gonnatry to keep quiet on some of it,
but the the some of thebackstage people there, people
back behind the scenes there inthat AEW, you know.
Uh that's all I gotta say.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (21:21):
All right, let's see.
Uh this is pretty much somethingwe talked about earlier, but
we'll bring it up again.
Celia on the Baidu asked, whowould you place as John Cena's
last match?

SPEAKER_00 (21:35):
Uh, you know what, man?
If it were me, and I know itwouldn't happen.
I and like I said, I may be justthinking outside the box, but
you know what I would like tohave.
I would have brought someone inspecial, and I mean, I maybe,
you know, I don't know where tosee with, you know, I'm pretty
sure he might would do business.
But Cena and the rock and uhStone Cold Steve Austin, that's

(21:55):
what I would have liked to see.

SPEAKER_02 (21:57):
Yeah, I you know, I know that it keeps coming back
time and time again, storiesthat Austin's gonna come back
and wrestle one more match, andthere's even a lot of talk about
it for 20 uh 27 when they're inSaudi Arabia.
Um, but I I I'm afraid, youknow, here's where I am when it
comes to Stone Cold.
I'd like to see him come backmaking an appearance.
I don't think I want to seeStone Cold wrestle again because

(22:20):
his kid he left wrestling theright way to me.
He he he left, he said goodbye, and he never went back.
And I still remember him as thatass-kicking individual, Stone
Cold Steve Austin, because ofthat.

SPEAKER_00 (22:33):
Well, that's why it would work so good, because he's
one of those guys that didn't goback on his word.
He didn't go back, but justhere, you know, where do you
build it right and get a storyto go?
And you know, then that'ssomething that may excite him
there that makes him want tocome back.
Yeah, it's easy to do.

SPEAKER_02 (22:47):
All right, Scott Lance uh saying, Hey, this is uh
for both you guys.
Why does WWE not push the bestfemale wrestlers, Rhea Ripley,
Charlotte, Nattie Ninehardt, over the Barbies on the roster?
They have always done this allthe way back to and before
China.

SPEAKER_00 (23:06):
Well, that course, and I can't, excuse me, I can't
answer because I don't I don'tknow.
Uh what I see, what I'm doing, you know, with the women's
division, uh the women's talentthat are out there now.
You know, I think they're doingthe right thing with some of
them.
Some of them I don't know.
I don't watch it, you know, thatmuch to keep up with it, but uh
I don't know where there'sanything wrong.
Maybe he sees something that Idon't see.

SPEAKER_02 (23:27):
I I think that they're just going with they
think is the most popular femaleuh on TV.
It's not it doesn't reallymatter, you know, if they're the
best athletically, it's you knowwhat's drawing the most numbers.

SPEAKER_00 (23:38):
Well, it should matter, you know what I mean?
Like, yeah, they should takethings serious, you know what I
mean.
Not only the person need to lookgood, but they also need to know
how to work.

SPEAKER_02 (23:46):
Yeah, and look, there's uh Natty.
Uh let me tell you something.
She has done some recent matchesoutside of WWE where she just
kicks ass, and that is thecharacter people want to see in
WWE.

SPEAKER_00 (23:58):
Well, she's the real deal, she she comes from the the
the heart family and everything,so she got it right.
Okay, she knows exactly what todo in that ring.

SPEAKER_02 (24:06):
And let me tell you something, Natty.
Uh, whatever she's been doing inthe last few years, the the
workout programs, whatever itmay be, uh, you look better now
than you did 10 years ago.
I don't know how you did it, butyou look a lot better than just
10 years ago.
Just incredible.

SPEAKER_00 (24:20):
Yeah, I know how she did it.
She changed that diet around andstart taking that gym more
serious.

SPEAKER_02 (24:25):
Well, she's she's kicking ass now.

SPEAKER_00 (24:27):
Yeah, she looks great, she looks absolutely
great, man.
And like I said, I've known herfor years and years, and what a
sweetheart of a lady, man.
Her and her husband, man, whatwhat great people.

SPEAKER_02 (24:36):
I bet she'd be a fun interview.
That may be somebody I need totry to reach out to because I
bet you she'd be fun tointerview on our show one day.
She's got that kind ofpersonality.
I think she'd uh she, yeah, that'd be that'd be really good.

SPEAKER_00 (24:49):
Well, I may can get in touch with her.
I don't know because she did uhtext me after uh the passing of
my son, so she texted me hercondolences there.

SPEAKER_02 (24:57):
So I let's see uh Ms.
John saying, I really think theuh they're missing the mark with
these general managers.
A Teddy Long one night asgeneral manager would be great
TV.
I wouldn't lie, I think thatwould be great TV, Teddy.
And I'm not saying that becauseyou're here, but the fact is
fans love Teddy Long.
And if you can get a show whereyou've got a special uh, you

(25:19):
know, guest uh general managerfor the night, Nick Aldis for
some reason's gone, and you stepin and you make a tag match and
these other things.
I think people would love that, and I do think people would
watch it.

SPEAKER_00 (25:31):
They had me though, like I said, the last time I
went to TV there and I talked toone of the writers, and I was
asking him about what I wasdoing, and he told me, he said,
Well, we had you coming out, youknow, doing making a match.
I said, Well, what happened?
He says, Well, uh, and I won'tcall a name, they thought that
was too much.

SPEAKER_02 (25:50):
All right, let's see.
Chris saying, Who do you see nowthat could benefit from someone
with your caliber of knowledge?
And would you love to have afinal run if you could?
Omos comes to mind.

SPEAKER_00 (26:05):
No, I mean, I I if it was done right, you know
what?
I'll be straight up with you.
The only person I really wouldcome back in this business for,
and if they it should happen tocome back, that would be Vince
McMahon.
That's the only person I want towork for, because I know with
Vince I'll be treated fair andI'll be treated right.
But these other people I can't,I can't trust them.
So I'm saying I don't want noone more run.

(26:26):
That's you know, they don't everhave to call me.
That's on them.
And I'm you know what I'msaying, because I if I'm gonna
go back and be treated right, you know what I mean?
I got no problem with that, butjust you know, no.

SPEAKER_02 (26:37):
