Ever wonder what wrestling legends talk about when the cameras stop rolling? WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long pulls back the curtain on his WrestleMania weekend, sharing heartfelt reunions with Stone Cold Steve Austin, Rikishi, and other wrestling royalty at WrestleCon.

The wrestling world buzzed when Triple H kissed Shawn Michaels at the Hall of Fame ceremony, but Teddy offers a refreshing perspective: "That's real friendship right there." He reflects on their decades-long bond, reminding us that in wrestling, genuine connections run deeper than storylines. Meanwhile, Randy Orton's comments about "embarrassing" $30,000 WrestleMania ticket prices strike a chord with Teddy, who worries about pricing out devoted fans, especially families who can't afford such luxury.

What happens when a young talent like Bron Breakker aligns with "wise man" Paul Heyman? Teddy sees tremendous value in this mentorship: "He's going to learn a lot from those guys." This seasoned perspective extends to The Rock's conspicuous absence from WrestleMania, as Teddy suggests we might see the People's Champion make a bigger splash at SummerSlam instead.

With surprising candor, Teddy rates this year's WrestleMania a 9/10, though he acknowledges Sunday outshined Saturday. Macs biggest wrestling pet peeve? The death of true finishing moves: "People kick out of everything left and right," diluting what used to be storytelling magic. Through it all, Teddy's love for the business shines through, reminding us why wrestling's blend of athleticism, entertainment, and human connection continues to captivate generations of fans.

Join us every Thursday night at 7 PM Eastern for more unfiltered wrestling talk with one of the industry's most beloved personalities. As Teddy would say: "Holla, holla, playa!"

Speaker 1 (01:18):
We'll be right back.
We're actually here.
We're maybe just a few minuteslate, but you know, some of us
are a little slower than others.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
Hello everybody and welcome.
So what are you trying to?

Speaker 1 (01:29):
say Teddy Long.
Just like me, if somebodydoesn't remind me, every so
often I might forget something.
And tonight you were sitting inyour Well.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
I was playing Monopoly.
Monopoly is really a great gameI get into, so I forgot.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
So you play Monopoly with yourself or against a
computer.
Were you playing a board gameor a video game?

Speaker 2 (01:50):
I played a game on the videos.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
A game on the videos, Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
I got you.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Look, here we got somebody who's already popping
in here.
Who is it?
Steve Morris, hey, steve.
He says hey, teddy, did you goto the roast at Wrestlemania,
and where can I see it?

Speaker 2 (02:07):
I didn't go to the roast.
Uh, I had a chance to stop afew minutes in the hall of fame
and that was about it.
But, uh, I don't even knowwhere they had the roast because
I was doing so many otherthings.
I bought a WrestleCon too, so Ididn't.
I didn't get a chance to go.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Uh, man, not at all you know, teddy, uh, one of the
things I've seen and there'sbeen a lot of people who were
offended by things that weresaid at the roast.
I guess maybe today we'vetalked about this.
I think maybe even on sportsKida uh, that today's audience
doesn't really understand what aroast is and a roast is.
You actually poke fun atsomebody else and you have a

(02:44):
good time.
It's just put down jokes, isbasically all it is, and it's a
night that for years, was alwaysan acceptable type of program,
don Rickles being one of thebest guys from way back in the
day.
But it seems like a lot ofthings may have been said that
were meant to be mean and notfunny, and some of that we'll
talk about a little bit later aswell.

(03:05):
I do want to get Curly man inhere.
Curly man, hey, teddy, how wasyour WrestleMania weekend?
And, teddy, how was the weekend?
Anything you want to talk aboutfrom your time there?

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Everything was great, man.
Wrestlecon was good.
I always look forward for thoseevents WrestleCon and
WrestleCade.
Those are two big events and itbrings out a lot of guys that I
had the opportunity, guys andgirls that I had the opportunity
to work with and I hadn't seenthem in a long time.
And this weekend at WrestleCon,I had a chance to see Jim
Powers.

(03:35):
Jim Powers was one of the firstguys that I met back in WCW
Also had a chance to see JackieMoore.
She was there.
I think we're going to seeJackie Moore.
She was there.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
I think we're going to see Jackie in St Louis too,
Teddy, if I'm not mistaken.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Yes, she did tell me that she's going to be in St
Louis at the ICW Fan Fest there.
So good to see Jackie Moore.
I had a chance to see AxlDuggan and have some fun with
him while I was there, also gota chance to hang with Rikishi a
little bit.
He's doing a documentary, so wegot a chance to film some stuff
and get on the documentary forhim.

(04:10):
Also, dan Spivey God don't letme forget that Dangerous Dan
Spivey, along with Sid Vicious, who's passed on, but they were
the skyscrapers and I had theopportunity to manage them and
so it was so great to see DanSpivey.
And also, but not least, I hada chance to see my main man,

(04:30):
stone Cold, steve Austin, and hecalled me wanting to get a
picture, and we just were sohappy.
No, we still got that bond, butwe always called each other
Blackbird.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Yeah, and that was one thing.
I mentioned this on anothershow that had you called me up
and had Stone Cold with you.
That was going to be myquestion.
The only question I was goingto ask him is why did you say
Blackbird?
Why do you call Teddy Blackbirdso Stone Cold?
If you're watching this or hearabout this, that'd be a great
answer, because even Teddydoesn't know why you're calling

(05:02):
Blackbird.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Well, that was kind of our bond.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Did you get a chance to see Braun Breaker?
I know you were hoping youmight be able to run into him.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Did you have a chance to see him?
No, I didn't get a chance tosee him at all.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
You know Braun is aligned now with Seth Rollins
and the wise man Paul HeymanTeddy.
My initial thought when I sawthat happen, when I saw Braun
Breaker become a part of thestable of Paul Heyman's, I'm not
sure I like that combination.
I really don't.
I kind of like Tim Moore as a.

(05:36):
The way he felt to meoriginally was kind of like a
baby, a badass baby face.
You know he had some hardcoretendencies.
He.
At the end of the day he was, Ithought just you know, a
hard-ass baby face hey, man,he's a steiner and he's and he's
a.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Well, there you go.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Yeah, he's a steiner, I mean do you think that he
fits in the group with sethrollins and paul hayman?
Do you, can you see that assomething that maybe he needs,
or is he better off by himself?

Speaker 2 (06:07):
I think he needs that .
You know he's going to learnfrom that.
He's going to have some peoplethere Paul Heyman, and those
guys are going to be behind himand they're going to guide him
in the right direction and notgoing to let him go out and make
mistakes and stuff.
So he needs that.
He's going to learn a lot fromthose guys and, like I said,
they didn't call, they didn'tname him a wise man for nothing.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
He's certain that let me ask you something.
This has been on the internetuh for the last couple of days
now, but randy orton was seen ina fan video, uh, commenting on
the price of wrestlemaniatickets.
Uh, after hearing that the fanshe was talking to paid $30,000,
randy said quote.

(06:48):
It's embarrassing to me, to behonest.
So much fucking money for aseat end.
Quote.
Teddy, did you hear a lot ofpeople complaining about the
price of stuff while you werethere this weekend, or last
weekend?
No, no not at all.
I do believe that the pricesare way outrageous and I think
you're taking it out of thehands of a lot of people who are

(07:10):
true wrestling fans that can'tafford that kind of money.
Look, I couldn't take if I hadfour kids, even if I had two
kids.
Can you imagine the kind ofmoney you would have?
I mean, that's more than youwould pay for a home just to go
see WrestleMania as a family.
That just seems ludicrous to me.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
Well, they ain't looking at it like that, my man.
They're looking to buy thesetickets.
We're going to sell them to you.
So, like I said, man, you haveto also understand this too.
You may be complaining aboutthat ticket prices, but you're
going to get paid out of thatsame money.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Oh yeah, true too.
All right, great weekend atWrestleCon, crazy busy, 100%.
So glad I got to see Teddy.
Much love my friends.
Do you know who that is?
Before I even tell you who thatis, teddy, just by looking at
that picture do you know whothat is?
I see something called ameltdown, okay, well, what's

(08:08):
that tell you?
Think back into the days of WWE.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
Oh, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
I'm going to give you a hard time.
Keep going.
I'm going to give you someguesses.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Okay, I got a meltdown.
I don't know that doesn'tstrike a bell, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
This is somebody that you do know, in fact.
I'm going to leave you hangingon to that for a minute.
I'm going to let you keepknocking that around.
He was also one of those big, tall guys that I've said in the
past I always thought shouldhave been up against Undertaker
during those days and done morein the WD.
Ryan Clark there you go, thereyou go.
Yes, sir, you got to see himthis past weekend too, I guess,

(08:48):
did you?

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, I got a chance to sayhello to Brian.
Yeah, man, he's a super greatguy, man.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Yeah, he's one of the nice guys.
Anytime I've ever needed to getan interview or something, he's
always been available and he'sbeen on road trip after hours.
As a matter of fact, you can uhjoin us uh for that, uh on the
recorded programs that we havesome of the stars uh on our
youtube page right here ifyou're watching on youtube.
If not, is that road trip afterhours, teddy?
Um, logan paul made an offer tostone cold.

(09:20):
Did you hear about this?
No, before wrestlemania, loganpaul had made an offer the stone
cold and he said quote, bro, weoffered steve a million dollars
to be in the prime bottle.
Now, teddy, I don't know if youknow what that is, but the
prime bottles is this.
It's like their mascot somebodydressed up in a costume that

(09:41):
runs around looks like a primebottle.
He said he offered uh steve amillion dollars to be in that uh
bottle, but he didn't do it.
So instead he ran a poor womanover with an atv.
Don't even think he consideredit for a second.
Imagine if he had revealed hisface in the prime bottle and his
fucking stone cold steve austin.

(10:01):
He could have done anything, which is why I think it would
have worked.
Ultimately Maybe one year.
End quote.
I'll be honest until hementioned that I didn't think
much about that little costumeguy that runs around the prime
bottle.
But that would be something Icould see Stone Cold doing,
because in the past, in theAttitude Era, he did stuff like

(10:22):
that, didn't he?

Speaker 2 (10:23):
He didn't run around with no ball and you know not
when he ran around it wasserious business.
Yeah, okay, he would chase youwith that atv.
You know, just like he did onwhat we're going to talk about
now.
But I mean, they didn't.
I don't know what's the bigdeal.
Thanks, man.
You know, if your people can goback, they can remember he
chased me.
I had to run from that andevery time I I turned around and

(10:45):
look, it was closer and closerand I had to keep going because
I know we're on live TV.
He's going to run over me if Istop.
So you know what I mean.
That was just, I think was anaccident, and you know I don't
see what the big deal is.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
Now, when it comes to the to the person in the
audience that ended up gettingbecause he ran into the
barricade, when you watch thevideo she doesn't even react
until maybe a couple secondsafter the impact.
She thought, oh, maybe I shouldfall down, and just fell back.
It's almost fake.
I'm not going to say it wasbecause I don't know.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Not to say fake, let's call it a work.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Yeah, maybe it's a work, You're right.
All right, let's see what wegot here.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
You never know what's going on.
You never know what's happening.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Not at all.
Oh, Mr Long, cool.
Somebody just must have poppedin and saw your face on here.
Kaju or somebody Kawai Kajumaybe.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
Okay, all right, well holla before we got that right.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
He said he was watching some old wrestling and
this cat shows up everywhere.
Uh, so I guess he's talkingabout you also.
Now here's somebody who's beentrying to get in touch with me
over and over again doingdifferent things, but benjamin
you, he says.
Hello.
Mr long, could you remind usagain the story of how Doom
became tag team champions backin the day?

Speaker 2 (12:04):
Thanks, yeah, I know Benjamin.
I've known him for a long time.
Good to hear from Benjamin.
The way the Doom defeated theSteiners at the pay-per-view was
called Capital Comeback inWashington DC, and that's how
they became the world tag teamchampions that night.

(12:25):
And it was also the night that,uh, I had this match with paul
lorin and I had to get my, myhead shaved and all that, which
was some idea that didn't makeany sense.
But anyway, don't worry, that'sin the past, but that's how
they they banners that capitalcomeback and, uh, that that's
when they beat the Miners atCapital Comeback and that's when
they became World Tag TeamChampions.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
And we've got to step away real fast.
I want to tell you a little bitabout the SICW Fan Fest that's
coming up.
Teddy will actually be gettingthe Lifetime Achievement Award
at that event, but do you wantto know more about it and how to
get those tickets?
Here you go and we'll comeright back with Ask Teddy.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
SICW Fan Fest 3 is almost here.

May 16th and 17th, st Louis.
Get up close and personal withwrestling legend SICWorg.
Come on, do it right now.
Sicworg, don't wait.

(13:25):
Do it right now.
Sicworg, don't wait.
Make plans May 16th and 17th atthe Hilton St Louis Airport.
Sicw Fan Fest 3.
Letters oh, we get letters weget your letters every day,

(13:48):
Mailman, mailman mail.
Today, Reach right in and pullone out those letters.
I love those letters.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Let's find out what you've got to say.
Oh boy.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
Mailman Mail today.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
Okay, hey, if you want to be a part of this, teddy
will take questions right here.
We got some that came in bymail or through social media and
you can also join us in livewith your questions.
All you have to do is leavethem in the comment section.
We'll throw them up and Teddywill answer anything and
everything.
You may not like what he says, but he'll answer it, I promise.
All right, teddy.

(14:34):
This comes from Barbara askingTeddy what was your reaction to
oh yeah, you and I actuallymentioned this ourselves, I want
to say just a couple of daysago, I forgot about this what
was your reaction to Triple Hkissing Shawn Michaels at the
Hall of Fame?

Speaker 2 (14:56):
Well, I really didn't think nothing of it.
These guys have been real goodfriends and they've been friends
for many, many years and in aday when I was, you know,
working, I always heard that, uh, when I came in, uh, sean
michael was one of the guys thatuh kind of took him in under
their wing and helped him out.
Also heard the terry tell guythat was close and helped Hunter

(15:20):
out.
And also Flair was anotherperson that those three guys
were the guys that I kind ofunder the wing and took care of
him and and helped him out.
So I think that's just him andSean that just have had a great
bond for years.
I mean I've been right therewith him, with DX and all that,
and they're just real goodfriends and so I don't think
people should take things thewrong way because I'm kissing

(15:41):
man and, you know, didn't go tothinking something else.
I mean that's just that to methat's real friendship right
there.
You know what I mean.
That's that they've.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
They've been together , they've been together man look
, teddy, I I know we're friends,but I ain't ever gonna kiss you
on the mouth.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
I'm sorry well it's, a lot of people probably
wouldn't do it either I.
I wouldn't kiss somebody.
Well, I don't know.
It's up to see what that personhas really did for me in my
life.
But, like I said, I'm prettysure a lot of people wouldn't do
it.
But I don't think there'snothing about that.
I think there's just they'relooking at what they came from
and where they're at now.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
I even think that maybe they were just doing that
to create a stir.
They just did that for the heckof it, Because I also see
Triple H as he's walking away, almost kind of cracking a half
smile.
You know, like he knew what hejust did.
You know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
Well, they all.
You know, they never quitworking.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
No, never, never, Never stopped working.
All right, zach Smith-Burton.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Hey Zach, what was your favorite part of
WrestleMania?
I think seeing Jey Uso win thetitle.
I think that was my favoritepart.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
What was your worst part, Teddy?
Do you have one that you reallywere disappointed in during
WrestleMania?
I know you can't say a wholelot, but you don't want to hurt
anybody's feelings.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
No, if I had something that was bad, I would
say it.
I didn't get a chance to watchit like that.
I was watching bits and pieces.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
I the one thing and I'm trying to make sure I'm not
going to step on someone'squestions here.
So give me just a second tomake sure I'm not going to give
anybody a hard time with theirquestion here.
And I don't Let me ask youabout Charlotte Flair and
Tiffany Stratton.
That match, teddy I I waslooking forward to this match.

(17:27):
I wanted to see the fire thatthey had in their promos come
alive in the ring.
I didn't feel like we got that.
I don't know who's settingthese matches up, you know, for
the girls, or if they're doingit themselves, but there are
times when it feels likeCharlotte Flair may have been
sandbagging a little bit duringher match.
It just didn't come off well.

(17:47):
In fact, if I had to pick amatch one of the matches that I
think were weak fromWrestleMania weekend that would
have been one of them, and itdisappointed the hell out of me.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
Yeah, well, I didn't get a chance to see that one at
all because, like I said, I wasthere but I'm trying to get home
too, so I was trying to get aflight out and stuff.
So I've seen this in bits andpieces but I didn't get a chance
to watch that one at all thatwas unfortunate.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
What else we got here ?
We have uh frank from the gasstation.
Logan wants mac on the primebottle for 15 dollars.
I'd go for a little bit morethan that, but not much.
What else we got here?
Plot twist, Jones, Weird.
I don't kiss my friend of20-plus years.
I think you're right, Teddy.
There is a difference, especially when we grew up.

(18:32):
Look, men didn't even hardlyhug when I was a kid.
I mean that was strange.
And then you start seeing menkind of hugging a little bit and
then patting each other on thebacks.
There was always a cool hugthat men had.
But times have changed so muchthat I just don't know what is
acceptable and not acceptableanymore.
But again, I'm not going tokiss you.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Well, you're looking at two guys that came up with a
struggle.
Both of them are millionaires.

Speaker 1 (18:59):
Making all kinds of money.
Let's see Wrestle UK.
Hey guys, catch you every weekhere in the UK.
What are your honest opinionsand I think we just did this Of
Wrestlemania this year Overall?
Teddy, let's just do.
I know you're going to hatethis, but on a scale of 1 to 10
1 being the worst, 10 being thebest when do you put

(19:20):
WrestleMania this year?

Speaker 2 (19:23):
Number nine, really, number nine I'm missing a little
bit of a few things, notnothing major, you know what I
mean.
There's some little minorthings that could have been done
better.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
But you know you learn.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
Well, yeah, you learn from that.
So now you know not to makethat mistake no more.
So in know not to make thatmistake no more, and all to me,
I think that show was a betternight.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
See, I look at it.
Saturday's show was it wasn'tthat good at all.
Sunday's show was better.
If you had to pick one of thetwo nights, sunday night was a
much better show, but in the endI'd give it maybe a five and a
half or six Teddy.
It just didn't.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
But again, but again.
You and I we understand, weknow there's so many people that
don't know.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
But now, when you go online, though, and you start
reading some of the comments, there are a lot of people who
thought this was a very weakWrestleMania, and they were also
surprised by the one thing I dowant to talk about.
That is the Rock.
The Rock did not show up atwrestlemania.
I can't tell you how manypeople I know, teddy, that
really expected to see him onwrestlemania and were

(20:29):
disappointed that they didn't.
And then, when they didn't hearfrom him at wrestlemania, he
shows up and makes an excuse onthe pat mcafee show for why he
wasn't there.
That made zero sense in thestoryline.
It's a big mess as far as I'mconcerned.
What were your thoughts oneverything that went down?

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Well, I ain't about to spoke at it.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
That's just it.
He created the storyline of I'mgoing to take your soul or, you
know, give me your soul.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
Well, like I said, it's not over.
You know, did one little dealthat WrestleMania where he
doesn't show.
You know, give me your soul.
Well, like I said, it's notover.
You know, there's one littledeal there at WrestleMania where
he doesn't show.
You know what I mean.
But you got SummerSlam comingup and I think you know if
you're thinking like I would bethinking just as strong went
into WrestleMania.
You got to be double strong nowto go into SummerSlam.
You got to follow that.
So I think to maybe have Rucksave him to bring him in for

(21:20):
SummerSlam, to make the bigscene there would be the thing
to do.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
Let's see we have Plot Twist Jones again saying
I'm not kissing my mother orfather that way Definitely for
the laughs.
Yeah, I think that's probablywhat it was too.

Speaker 2 (21:40):
Michael Steele popping in saying yeet, yeah,
what do?

Speaker 1 (21:41):
you say to that Michael, let's see Zach in here
again.
Dom winning was amazing.
I did like seeing Dom win.
I did not expect that Teddy, was that something you saw
coming, because I really didn't.
He was a last-minutereplacement in a match that I
just didn't think.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
You know that he'd be the one going over.
That's exactly how they shoulddo it where you don't know, Yep.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
All right, let's see what we got here Creatively.
I'm sorry, I don't think it wasgood.
Raw was better.
I agree with that.
Now that's something I will say.
A lot more surprises and energyfelt like it was on the Monday
Night Raw after WrestleManiathan I got on WrestleMania
weekend.
That's a good point, jones,really good point.

(22:24):
Let's see what else we got here.
Curly man, hey Mac, I know thisis Ask Teddy Wanted to ask you
a question.
Okay, where can we see any ofyour past matches on YouTube?
You actually can find them onthe same channel.
You'll find Road Trip AfterHours.
There's a few of my matchesthere.
I don't post many of thembecause it's independent

(22:45):
wrestling.

Speaker 3 (22:45):
They're horrible.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
They're not horrible, but actually there's some in
there.
There's some cage matches.
I did more of the hardcorestyle kind of things cage
matches, tlc matches, those kindof things but go by.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
You'll find some of that stuff in the library here
and I wanted to touch on thattoo.
Yeah, a lot of jokes aside, mac's a hell of a worker.
That's how you mentioned Istarted going to the Indies and
stuff and that's where I startedseeing Mac and I started seeing
him work good, and that's whenI went up to him.
I'm like that, had the WWE oranybody in those guys ever
approach you or something?
But Max, he's certainly good inthe ring.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
I appreciate that.
Yeah, I.
Unfortunately, I suffered aneck injury that took me out of
wrestling for 10 years and thatpretty much stopped my chances
of ever doing anything like that.
That's the Well.
Stay off your knees.
Stay off my knees.
Let's see here, teddy, anythingwill come out of your mouth.

(23:46):
Andre the Manlet Weird itfinished 20 minutes early.
I was thinking the Rock wascoming out and then it ended.
I did too, andre.
Teddy, I don't know if you gotto see that part of it, but when
we got to the end ofWrestleManiamania and it was all
over with, I kept thinking, okay, I'm waiting for the rock,
waiting for the rock.
I even saw the credits waitingfor the rock.

(24:08):
He never showed up and at thatpoint I was just like okay, this
has been piss poor.
It really took me at the end ofthe night, took away from what
I'm used to getting atwrestlemania.
I don't think there was ever atime and you can comment down
below and tell us, but I don'tthink there was ever a time that
Vince McMahon endedWrestleMania on the champ, not

(24:32):
winning on the baby face, notgoing over and everybody going
home feeling good.
Wasn't that usually the casefor WrestleMania, teddy?

Speaker 2 (24:38):
Yeah, well, yeah, but you know when I well, this
wasn't wrestlemania, it wasanother pay-per-view.
You know, bench bluest quadsout there and batista and uh,
trying to remember where theyboth come over at the same time
and uh, we had to go go alongwith that, you know.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
Get into another one I'm sorry, I was just waving at
maggie uh, she was in heresaying hello everyone uh hello,
maggie, and listen, let mecorrect y'all.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
When max on his knees , it's with his wife.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
Okay, let me get that he didn't mean that honey,
she's right on the other side ofher going what good very good,
oh god, yeah, well, it isthursday night.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
Share your stories.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
We want to hear no, you don't want to hear that.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
We want to hear you know like you got any old road
stories.
Well, we want to know if y'allgot any old bedroom stories.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
Hopefully my grandson's not watching.
All right, let's see Plot twistJones in here again.
He said I used to be a hugerock fan, but I honestly don't
need or want to see him again, especially if he's just throwing
a wrench into what's going on.

(25:53):
Well, good point is a very goodpoint, and there are a lot of
people who feel that way, and Iknow that not everyone feels
that way.
Some people loved wrestlemaniaand thought the ending was
perfectly you know.
Fine, it's just like ice cream.
We all have different flavorsthat we like, and some like
chocolate, some don't.
All right, let's see what elsewe got here.
I do want to bring up, uh, yourgirl, naya jacks, teddy.

(26:14):
She was at this roast and uh,she was making some comments.
I think a lot of it was justpure jokes, but she did get on
the kind of a serious side andfelt like she was taking some
jabs at Charlotte Flair.
She made fun of her failedmarriages and she even kind of
referenced Well, I don't getinto some of the stuff, but

(26:35):
anyhow, there seemed to be somereal heat between Nia Jax and
not between Nia Jax, but betweenCharlotte flair and the other
girls backstage.
Would you find that surprising?
Because I don't.
I think that would happen withanybody.
If it's not Charlotte flair, would be somebody else.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
I mean, I don't really know.
I don't understand none of it.
Like you know, like I said, Idon't keep up with the dealers.
I you know I've watched Nia andyou know and her stuff, but,
like I said, I don't watch allthe player that much.
I really don't even know her,so I don't even know what's it
really all about.
I really don't.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
I wonder too, teddy.
I often say that kayfabe isdead, although I do believe that
kayfabe can be brought back tolife if it's used properly, can
be brought back to life and usedif it's used properly.
And there are some cases duringwrestlemania weekend uh, up
until the time that we're on theair right now that I feel like

(27:32):
maybe we're getting worked alittle bit in certain places.
But I'm okay with that.
I like to be surprised ifwrestling is not surprising.
It's not really.
That's one thing people loveabout wrestling.
They like the surprises.
They don't want to know what'sgoing to happen and when it's
going to happen.
They want to be surprised bythat.
Would you agree with that,teddy?

Speaker 2 (27:54):
Well, yeah, yeah, I mean, you're not going to get
away from my old school.
The only thing that's going tohappen you're going to dress a
little bit, but it's alwaysgoing to be there.
So, like I said, we have todeal with the change of times
now and the way things are going, and we just got to.
You know, get ready for that,Get ready for the change,
because we see so much stuff andI know you do too in wrestling

(28:15):
matches.
That would have never happened10 years ago, I mean.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
I wouldn't even dream of doing it.
One of the worst things and Iget asked this all the time
what's my biggest pet peeve inwrestling?
In today's wrestling it's thenon-finishers.
There is no finisher anymorebecause people kick out and pop
out of finishers all the time.
You've killed what people cansee coming.

(28:40):
You know, whoever the wrestlermay be builds to the moment to
deliver that finish and that'spart of the story and the
excitement as they get closer toit.
And when you don't have a realfinisher and people are kicking
out of everything left and right, it takes away from what used
to be old school, easystorytelling.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
Well, it's old school , easy, entertaining.
There you go.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
Let me ask you one more thing, cisco and Frisco.
I'm sorry, cisco and Frisco,I'm begging you.
I know I'm jumping all overmyself.
Now Should WrestleMania go backto a one-night event?
Good question.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
Well, if they're doing good with two nights, you
know, if it ain't broke, why fixit?
So if one man I would, I wouldcontinue to go with that.
But I think they're going tohave just a little.
They're going to need a littlebit more showman.
You know what I mean.
They're going to have to pep itup a little bit.
If they're going to go to twonights, they're going to have to
involve some entertainmentinvolved, you know, along with

(29:42):
the ring too.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
I do believe that WrestleMania this year could
have been much better than itwas had they only been there for
one night.
Because, teddy, what you'retrying to say too is you don't
have enough super talent to filltwo nights of WrestleMania, but
you did have the talent to pulloff one night of WrestleMania
and make it extra special.

(30:04):
So I agree with you.
I don't think we're in the erawhere we were in the Attitude
Era, where they had a lot ofstars.
Nowadays, we're still buildingthem.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
Well, that second night, you know I would.
If it had been me on the secondnight, that's where I would
have put Travis Scott.
I wouldn't even have had himinvolved in the ring, in no mess
.
Maybe I would have had himbackstage involved in a promo
with Cody or something like that, to be in the ring.
I wouldn't have done that, butI wouldn't have performed the
second night.
See, that takes care of thatsecond night.

(30:33):
You know that concert is goingto go what?
Maybe an hour, that's about it.
Then it goes back to wrestling.
But that would be somethingdifferent.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
I got so tired of hearing the theme song for
WrestleMania by the time it wasover with.
They took a song that I thoughtwas good in the beginning and I
hate it now.
I hate it.
It's just like God, that's allI hear.
Fiend, fiend, fiend, fiend.
It just makes you want to throwsomething at the TV.
All right, teddy, let's pick aquestion.
Anybody in particular you'dlike to hand the T-shirt to this

(31:03):
week for the best question?

Speaker 2 (31:05):
I'm going to hand it to the guy that didn't have a
question for me.
He had a question for you.
I'm going to send him thatT-shirt.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
Let's see, that's Curly man.
So, curly man, get in contactwith me.
Send me your email and contactinfo and I'll be in touch and
we'll get that shirt right outto you.
Teddy, I've enjoyed this.
We do this every Thursday night, 7 o'clock, live Eastern
Standard Time, and we appreciateeverybody who pops in the room
and joins us, especially when itcomes to leaving us questions

(31:32):
and being a part of our show.
Teddy, anything coming up foryou before we get out of here.

Speaker 2 (31:38):
I don't know the name of the event, but I'm better
than you.
I'm going to be everywhere ofthe event, but I'm better.
I'm going to be somewhereFriday and Saturday I'm going to
be in Indianapolis, indiana, atsome kind of coming call.
I don't know, but I knoweverybody in Indianapolis.
They know what I'm talkingabout.
But that's where I'm going tobe Friday and Saturday this

(32:00):
weekend Indianapolis.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
Indiana.
If you're in Indianapolis, youdon't know where the hell he's
going to be, do you?

Speaker 2 (32:06):
Neither does Teddy Maybe somebody ought to meet me
at the airport and take me whereI'm supposed to be.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
Careful.
You don't know who might pickyou up at the airport, teddy.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
No, I'm not getting in no.

Speaker 1 (32:18):
Alright, guys, we're out of here.
We'll see you again 7 o'clocknext week, right here for Road
Trip.
After Hours I'm Mac Davis andthat is WWE Hall of Famer, teddy
Long.
See you next week.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
