The wrestling world stands united through triumph and tragedy in this deeply personal episode of Wrestling's Road Trip After Hours. Mac Davis and Teddy Long begin by previewing Saturday Night's Main Event, dissecting the potential outcomes for Drew McIntyre versus Randy Orton, Seth Rollins facing LA Knight, and the heavyweight championship showdown between Gunther and Goldberg. Their seasoned analysis reveals why Goldberg's "final match" might not be so final if championship gold enters the equation.

The conversation takes a poignant turn when Teddy addresses the recent passing of his son Antoine. With remarkable grace, he acknowledges the wrestling community's outpouring of support, specifically naming Stephanie McMahon, Triple H, Mark Henry, Bruce Prichard, and others who reached out during this difficult time. "When people do stuff like this, they don't have to," Teddy reflects. "That lets me know you ain't faking. You're real."

Through fan questions, listeners gain rare insights into wrestling's golden era. Teddy recalls his first meeting with Vince McMahon in 1998, shares what made working with Vickie Guerrero special, and reveals surprising friendships with stars like Rick Rude. The hosts explore the creative differences between wrestling then and now, with Mac noting, "When Vince was there in WWE, it seemed like there was more creativity and fun things that happened. Today that does not exist, at least not for me."

Whether discussing the roughest bump Teddy ever took (courtesy of Big Show), his approach to not dating talent ("You don't mix business with pleasure"), or humorous stories about fans who couldn't separate kayfabe from reality, this episode beautifully balances wrestling analysis with genuine human connection. Join these wrestling veterans as they remind us why the bonds formed through this unique industry endure through life's most challenging moments.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,

(00:26):
hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, we'll be right back.

(01:16):
Hello everybody, welcome to anall-new edition of Wrestling's
Road Trip After Hours.
I'm your host, mac Davis, and,of course, my tag team partner.
Every single week is none.
In fact, this show wouldn'texist if teddy and I hadn't
gotten together and said youknow what?
This might be a lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
And teddy here don't, don't, don't, don't, don't,
don't.
Blame that on me.
I was not the one that did that.
Okay, and then you're talkingabout your tag team partner.
I don't want to tag with you.
You never want to tag in.
I got.
Every time I try to tag you, this is what you give me.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
You snatch right back well, yeah, of course, I'm a
heel well, of course how did Inot know that?
Well, you should know that youride with me enough yeah I don't
know how the weather is whereyou are in atlanta right now.
Have you had any rough weatherlately over there?

Speaker 2 (02:02):
well, not where I'm at.
I'm around san diego springs.
We just had a little bit ofrain and that's about it for the
day.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Yeah, we've had a lot of storms just blowing through
here that we didn't even expectto come through and I know
there's a lot of places wherethe weather has been crazy.
So if you're in one of thoseplaces and they tell you
something about the weather andthey tell you to get in the
middle closet or somewhere inyour house, you something about
the weather and they tell you toget in a, you know, a middle
closet or somewhere in yourhouse, listen to what they're
telling you, because the damagethese storms have been making

(02:27):
lately, including the flooding, has just been incredible and the
amount of people who we've losta lot of children even from
those floods.
So, uh, pay attention to whatthose weathermen say out there
and get out of the harm's way,if at all.
Teddy, yes, this weekend is abig weekend for WWE and that's

(02:48):
because we have Saturday night'smain event.
Now, as far as I know, threematches for sure and one match.
I think that's still possible.
I want to go over these withyou before we get into the
mailbag and everybody'squestions here.
Just get your feel for what youthink might happen Saturday
night live on NBC.
The first match I'll bring upis Drew McIntyre versus Randy

(03:13):
Orton.
What do you see happening inthis match, teddy?

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Well, I don't know, man, these are two tough
competitors.
Both these guys are reallyabsolutely great in the ring and
I mean you're going to get yourmoney's worth when you watch
these two, but uh, for theoutcome, you know I, you know I,
I, we just don't know.
But I'd have to go with randyorton I I wonder if randy's um.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
Maybe you know they brought drew mcintyre back just
recently on a uh, on a wwe show.
I can't remember if it wassmackdown or if it was raw um,
but when he back, the firstthing they did is lay him out in
the ring.
He's been gone for a while andand he takes I think it may have
been an RKO from Randy Orton,as a matter of fact, and he just
laid out in the ring on hisfirst night back after so long.

(03:59):
I I wonder if maybe that's nota setup for Drew McIntyre to
come back, because you know howthey book now, it's 50-50 most
times.
If he got dropped by Randy, chances are that Drew may do
something to Randy at Saturdaynight's main event.
Would that be fair to say no,no, all right, here's another

(04:21):
one.
Now, this one, I thinkeverybody knows where it's going
to go Seth Rollins versus LAKnight.
What do you think?

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Oh God, I like LA Knight too.
La Knight is my man.
He really does a lot of goodstuff.
I'm really impressed with him.
You would think maybe Sethwould be the guy to take this
thing, but between these two youmight get a surprise.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Yeah, I really kind of wonder what may happen,
because LA Knight, he is a fanfavorite.
Seth Rollins, he's Seth Rollinsand you know I think everybody
expects him.
Yeah, that's just all you cansay.
Now here's the one thateverybody's tuning in for
Gunther versus Goldberg for theheavyweight championship.
Do you see?

(05:08):
Now they say this is Goldberg'slast match, but he's in a
heavyweight championship match.
If he wins, it can't be hislast match, unless he just drops
the title, which wouldn't makeany real sense, or we might get
a short run out of Goldberg.
What do you think?

Speaker 2 (05:25):
well, I think what you just said at the end there,
if he does, uh, win you knowwhat I mean comes out on top,
then, like you said, I thinkthey'll get a little bit of a
run out of goldberg.
I think he'll be around for awhile.
So I think to say that this ishis last match puts a lot on it.
You know, people, I mean thatthat kind of gives me a little
concern too.
Said well if you, well, if youcome back, you know, and just
for one match, you know whywould you do that?

(05:46):
You know.
But I did hear that he reallywanted to come back for his kid.
His son has grown up a littlebit now and he just wanted to do
something, you know, for hiskid or something.
So I don't know, man.
But then there's the otherthing too by the kid being big
enough now to be part of it,they may use the kid there
somewhere.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
And when we say kid, keep in mind we are aware that
this kid's in college and he'splaying football, so he's not
that same little kid that weremember the last time we saw
him on.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
TV.
That's right.
That's what I was saying.
Now that he's able to be a partof it, he may get involved.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
There were some other guys.
I think uh stings boys, or atleast one of them, uh had some
interest in wrestling.
Um, you got rick steiner and uhscott steiner's you know nephew
and son, uh in braun, and whoelse we got?
We got a lot of up-and-comingolder names that are coming back
with their kids now all at thesame time, which is actually

(06:46):
pretty cool because they canreally do something with that if
they really get these guysready, much like what we saw in
the Ruthless Aggression era, maybe when we started getting
Triple H with Randy Orton, batista, ric Flair it was
Evolution was the name of thegroup, and I think we can see
another one of those kind ofscenarios come back around again

(07:07):
, because some of these namesare really interesting that are
out there just kind of bubblingaround.
All right, here's one last match.
Now, this is one that I thinkmay happen, but it's not on the
card yet.
There is a possibility, thoughand keep in mind this is in
Atlanta, georgia, both homebases for goldberg and uh aj

(07:27):
styles and they say aj stylesmay still end up getting a match
with the uh injured.
Dominic mysterio, uh, if we'rein atlanta and this is aj's
place, do you see, aj winningthis match well, let me tell you
something.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
That used to be a time back in the day, you know,
when a guy was in his hometown.
You know that they put him over.
Well, vince, quit doing that.
Okay, guy in his hometown, vince would beat him.
Yeah, he'd embarrass himsometimes, yeah, right.
So, like I said, vince, I lovehim to death, you know, and I
wish he was still there, buthe's not there.
So there may be a change inthat, but that's kind of what it

(08:07):
looks like Anytime a guy's inhis hometown.
Maybe they want to do it forthe Atlanta crowd or whatever.
You know what I mean, but Vincedidn't look at it like that,
because that's just one night.
What are we going to dotomorrow night?
Right, all right.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Teddy, we're going to step away real quick and be
right back.
We're going to get in themailbag and, by the way, if you
want to be a part of the show,it doesn't cost you a penny.
All you got to do is leave yourcomments or, you know, your
questions for Teddy on thecomment section.
We'll bring it up on the screenand get on the show.
And is that what you'redrinking there?

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Orange juice Orange juice yes.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Man, that looks good.
I love orange juice.
I'm one of those cats that whenI get up in the morning I don't
want anything, but I do want aglass of juice.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
That's the one thing I require when I get up in the
morning, that orange juice inthe fritter in the morning.
It is outstandingly cold.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
Man, what a great drink you know what somebody
brought to me the other day andI haven't had one of these in a
long time in a glass bottle, ayoo-hoo.
Oh man, that sounded so goodbecause you can pick them some
of the guns in the freezer andget them kind of where they get
ice crystals in it.
Yeah, yeah, oh, that's so goodon a hot summer day to have that
Yoo-Hoo.
Oh man, I'm going to have to gobuy a damn Yoo-Hoo after this

(09:18):
is over with.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Yeah, sure.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
We'll be right back Letters.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Oh, we get letters.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
We get your letters every day.
Mailman, mailman, mail today.
Reach right in and pull one out.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Oh, letters, I love those letters.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
Let's find out what you've got to say.
Mailman mail today.
You gotta love those road tripafter hours singers.
They do a great job on thatmailbag stuff.
They're horrible.

(10:03):
They're just horrible.
Look, I don't want anybody tothink that's watching right now
that we're ignoring, uh,something that's happened
recently and I think we need toaddress that before we get into
the letters here.
Uh, teddy I, I I'll let youtake it from here.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Go ahead, brother well, uh, basically, I guess, uh
, what max want to talk about isthe passing of my son, antoine.
He passed, I believe, lastThursday.
We found him prior day.
He was in his home and he wasunresponsive.
So basically I'm waiting on theautopsy to let us kind of know

(10:41):
what really happened.
And he was laying on his bed, still had his clothes on and
everything, and one of hisfriends came there and found him
in the house.
So we're just waiting to seewhat happened.
And a lot of people acknowledgethat and text me and stuff from
the WWE and I want to say thosenames now too, so to let them
know how much I appreciate it.
And Mark Henry was one of them, bruce Prichard, michael Hayes,

(11:07):
the Godfather, eric Bischoff, natalia Ron Simmons, jbl and
Stephanie McMahon she reachedout and she spoke on behalf of
her and Triple H, you know, andgave me their condolences.
So thank you so much, stephanie.
And I also want to acknowledgeHerb Simmons, you know, another
guy that I want to let peopleknow.

(11:29):
When people do stuff like this, they don't have to.
So anytime they do this, thenthat lets me know.
You know you ain't faking youreal, you know, and they really
do care.
So these people that Imentioned have shown me that
they do care.
So, you know, like I said we,nothing we can do is God's call.
So, uh, I just want to thankeverybody.
If I didn't get a chance tothank you or if I didn't, you

(11:50):
know, for some of the peoplethat came on Facebook and
Instagram and all that, I maynot be able to meet you, so, but
thank you so very much, thankeverybody for you know, for
coming out and thinking aboutAntoine.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Yeah, I know, nick Patrick.
Um, uh, yeah, thank you.
Thank you, man Robert.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Gibson too, right, robert?
Yeah, man, god at least.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
When that happened, you know, a lot of people didn't
want to bother you, so theystarted reaching out to me and I
started talking to a lot ofthem and I got to point one
thing out.
I don't think you've evennoticed this, but when I posted
that news, that news was notposted by Teddy or myself.
Somebody else found out thatnews was not posted by Teddy or
myself.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
Somebody else found out that was a site called
Wrestle-ish.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
Yeah, and they put it out there and it was something
that we had to jump on almostimmediately as soon as I saw it,
because I wanted people to knowthat we're not trying to ignore
anybody.
But at that point we don't knowif all the family knows the
news yet and it came out alittle bit early.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
And the main thing is , I didn't give them permission
no, no, they never contacted me.
You know, it's really strange.
I'm really not angry at them.
I mean, what they did put outwas nice.
I appreciate that.
Thank you so much.
But it must, they must have alittle bit of guilt or somewhere
, because now I don't see themno more on instagram.
That's why, you know, I guessthey must have quit following me
or something.
So I don't know.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
But, like I said, I was going to tell you, teddy,
the one thing that when I didpost that, there were over 10,
this was yesterday, so I haven'tchecked it today Over 10,000
people reaching out telling you,uh, condolences and prayers to
the family.
Um and uh, I was driving Teddycrazy.
My wife kept telling me youneed to check on him again.
You need to check on him.

(13:30):
Teddy's like just tell her Isaid, leave me alone.
But yeah, man, we, we're sorryabout that, teddy, and no parent
should ever have to go throughthat.
So I just want to throw that outthere before we got into the
questions, because I know a lotof people may want to say
something and we just wanted toaddress it before we got
underway well, I, you know, likeI said, I really hadn't talked

(13:50):
about it myself on my Facebookor anything.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
I said I'll wait tonight until we do it on our
live show.
So if anybody want to questionor say anything about it, I'm
here to answer your questions orwhatever you, whatever you need
from me all right, let's see, let's get into these.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
We do have a bunch of people waiting in the chat, so
let's get these up here.

Speaker 2 (14:42):

on me.

Speaker 1 (14:46):

Yes, you know, I asked thatquestion today.

inquire about that.
So, you know, go to Sportskeeda, become a member and pull up
all the podcasts that you wantand cause there's a bunch of
them there.
All right, let's see what elsewe got.
We have Michael.

(15:34):

We have, uh, michael.
Hey, teddy, sorry to hear about.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Uh, antoine, uh, why, why were you never gm of raw?

Speaker 1 (15:39):
I'm sorry, uh, that name is antonio okay mac, no, I
saw that, but he said sorry tohear about antonio, but uh, yeah
, no, yeah, you're right.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
I thought okay, my bad, that's okay.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
That's okay.
Hey look, you wouldn't betelling me if you didn't give me
shit.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
I have been GM of Raw .
Before I was GM of Raw and ECWand SmackDown all three of them.

Speaker 1 (15:59):
You were actually.
You debuted as a generalmanager on Raw, didn't you?

Speaker 2 (16:04):
Yes, and I did it, but not full-time.
Maybe that's what the guy'stalking about.
I wasn't there full-time, butthere was a special occasion
that I was put in a position tobe general manager of Raw that
night, yep.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
All right, let's see Pretty classy lady saying
sending my condolences.
Teddy, very sorry to hear aboutyour loss.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Thank you very much.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
Let's see Plot Twist Jones.
He's also saying he's sorry forthe loss and I knew we'd get
some of these to the finalsignal, praying for you, my
brother in Christ, Thank you.
And let's see, this is whathappened on on the Facebook and
Instagram and everything.
And the other day, justeverybody, I mean the sympathy
that came out.

(16:43):
Hey, Teddy, sorry for your loss.
That's out.
Hey, teddy, sorry for you lostthat.
Some zach uh pod twist jonessaying whether he, and he's
right too.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
Sometimes the dirt sheets are sickening, yeah,
because they all lie.
They're just like you know, just to get people to read them,
or.
But the name of the game now isnumbers, and they'll do
anything social media, whateverfor numbers.
So that's why it's just badthat somebody will even take the
, you know, play with the dead, you know know what I mean To get
numbers, so, but that's the waythe world is.
So that's why you know itdoesn't bother me, yep.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
Michael, saying my condolences and love you, Teddy.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
Thank you, Michael.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Let's see.
Also, we have the final singlesaying holla at me, player, if
you need anything, herb Simmonspopping into the room as well.
Now, good to see you, herb.
Uh, good evening gentlemen.
Glad to see you guys.
Hope you're doing okay, teddyand you.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
You had to be.
You're not able to see herb nowbecause herb has lost that
weight and he's got himself inso tremendous shape.
Man to you know, you just don'tknow who you're looking at
right now.
That's her playboy simmons.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
I kind of like that name Herb Playboy Simmons,
that's got a read through itthere.
Ralph Cutt, Rick Ruby.
Hey, Rick, good to see you.
Good evening, Mac.
And Teddy.
Yeah, good to see you.
I think we have another one inhere.
Teddy, have you ever made a tagteam match against the
Undertaker?

Speaker 2 (18:04):
Why are you going to do that?
The Undertaker is a single.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
Was there ever a time and that's a good question
Actually, you never.
You never said no, I know whathe's saying.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
It wasn't ever a time that Undertaker tagged with
somebody and then I put them ina tag team match.
Yeah, yeah, well, I don'tremember doing that.
If I'd have done that, itprobably wouldn't have been
anybody but Kane.
I don't really think I everseen Taker tag with anybody.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
Did you ever go against Undertaker, or was he
always?
I mean I, I know that he, youknow he did a lot of things to
you, but did you ever go afterTaker on screen?
I mean trying to bury him oranything like that.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
No, you can't bury the Undertaker.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
Well, no, I know that storyline was.
I wonder if you could.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
No, well, we tried to .
Vince tried to do something onetime.
You know where he was trying toget me to turn on taker.
You know he, he tried that andwe talked about a little bit
doing the promos and stuff, youknow, and he said to me well,
you know, taker's gonna get you, yeah, yeah I still.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
my favorite line is buckle up, teddy, let let's see.
We got Ron in Memphis asking doyou remember your very first
conversation with Vince McMahon?

Speaker 2 (19:17):
Yes, I do.
The first time I met him is Iwent there in 98 and I started
refereeing and one night he wasgoing to the Gorilla Summit.
He looked and he spotted me andhe stopped and he saw me and he
came over and he shook my handand welcomed me into the WWF.
That's what it was then and meand him talked a little bit and
that was it.
That was the first conversation.

(19:37):
But after that I became gm andkind of, you know, got real, you
know kind of close with him alittle bit.
There we had a chance to talk alot of time but I didn't bother
him unless he wanted to bebothered.
You know I wasn't one of thoseguys running up to him every
time I read how'd you like mymatch, vince I?
You know all that.

Speaker 1 (19:53):
I wasn't that guy how often would you say you would
see vince, I mean, and actuallyspeak to him?
Was it not as much as peoplewould think?

Speaker 2 (20:00):
Well, you see him every day, you know.
But I mean, my thing was withVince.
You know TV, you know.
You had to learn when to speakto Vince you know what I mean.
Sometimes you know it's best tolet Vince speak to you, and
that's what I would do.
I would wait and see what kindof you know.
Where are you doing that player?
You know so that let me know.

(20:22):
All right, I can talk to himtoday, all right let's see, we
got another one in the chat here.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
Rough cut rick uh saying hey, dirt sheets are the
devil.
That's why on falls counteverywhere.
Nice plug we focus on the factsand storylines yeah, nice plug
gotcha hey look, uh, seriouslythough.
Uh, just just so we can makepeople understand.
When we were talking aboutearlier, about you know, we
appreciate all the love andsupport that was shown to Teddy

(20:48):
from you know all the varioussites.
It was just in the verybeginning, it was kind of early
and it should have come straightfrom Teddy or the family, not
from a dirt sheet.
That's all we're saying.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
And that site was Russell-ish.
That's who they were.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
All right, let's see we also have it's slow getting
up here tonight.
The final signal, teddy Iwatched your videos from 2014
when you were the GM onSmackDown.
You had the best matches puttogether and I love the old
Vince McMahon era day.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
I miss it.
I miss it too, man, and Icertainly miss Vince.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
And you know, teddy, we were on Sportskeeda the other
night and you and I wereplayfully going back and forth
to each other, but those are thekind of things that I miss.
You know, when Vince was therein WWE, it seemed like there was
a lot more creativity and funthings that happened.
It wasn't just wrestling, itwas.

(21:44):
He would produce a show thatyou wanted to see what would
happen next.
Today that does not exist, atleast not for me.
In wrestling, I'm not so gluedto the TV like I was back then.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
Do you feel like there's a need to bring back
some of those things that weused to do to make the product
better.
Well, you know, what can youreally say?
You know, sometimes that may bea good thing and then in
another way, it may be a badthing.
You know, what makes theproduct better is the persons
that are out there in the ringthat make you believe and make
you believe in what they justdid and what they just said.
That's what makes the productbetter when you make the people

(22:26):
believe that what, what hashappened with you, is real.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
But we don't see the days anymore Like the Vince
McMahon limousine blowing up.
You don't see that type of TVanymore.
You know that.
I think that may have been aVince thing.
I think Vince understood thatthere had to be more than just
the middle of the building wherethe ring is, that there's more
to the story and more you can do.
That's why he would go out.

(22:51):
He'd take Brad Shaw and Jay Imean Ron out to the bars and
tear up bars everywhere.
You would see people on the topof bridges chunking belts out
know belts out into the you knowthe ocean.
That's real.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
That's what I feel like is missing today.

Speaker 1 (23:09):
I think that's what they need to tweak back into the
show to make it entertaining.
Hell, you know that's just me.
What do I know?
All right, let's see.
Not much.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
You're like me.
That's me, Matt.
What do I know?

Speaker 1 (23:20):
Yeah, michael, hey Teddy.
What was it like working withVicky Guerrero?

Speaker 2 (23:32):
Vicky Guerrero was a sweetheart.
I love to work with her and hadsuch great times with Vicky and
a lot of stuff that Vicky didto me.
I told her to do those things, you know, because we had to come
up with stuff to do and she waslike Ted, are you sure?
I said yeah, yeah, but workingwith her was just absolutely
great.

Speaker 1 (23:43):
Man Like I said she's a sweetheart.
All right, let's see.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
Aaron on Facebook.
What was your go-to snack forroad trips back in?

Speaker 1 (23:57):
the day.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
Oh God, back in the day I ate pretty good.
Like I said, when you're on theroad you know you can eat
really decent.
So I'd be.
Basically we'd stop at somehamburger joint and before they
closed up or something and getsome food to ride with.
But I always get, uh, if I gota hamburger, I just get one
piece of bread and I take themeat, and that was it.
That's why I'd get threeburgers.
I got three pieces of bread andthree uh, three, uh patties I

(24:17):
can see.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
Uh, chris wants to know who was the nicest and
friendliest wrestler you've evercome across, male and female,
by the way oh god, man, the guywho would be golly man.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
There's so many guys that were just so extremely like
Rick Rude was a really nice guy, man, really.
Oh yeah, man, and I know youthink that's hard to believe now
.
Yeah, but I rode with him andit was.
You know, I swear to God I'drather ride with him than some
of the boys.
You know what I mean.
And he was real nice to getalong with.
Some of the ladies I workedwith, like Vicky she was great

(24:56):
Tori Wilson, golly, jackie Mooreshe was good to work with.
Trish, stratus, lita All thosegirls were real nice, had great
attitudes and they were great towork with.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
It's funny because you brought up a couple of names
.
This isn't the next questionthat I got here that is from
Hank, who's asking date, marryor kick to the curb or just
friends?
Let's put it that way.
There's none of these women youwould kick to the curb.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
Well, yeah, there's some of them.
You'd kick to the curb.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
Okay, I don't think in this group you'll find one,
though, but here we go.
Now you've got three ladiesthat I'm going to give you, and
this is the ones you've got tofigure out.
Which one are you going tomarry, which one are you going
to just date?
You know what I mean?
Or just be friends?
Here are your names.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
Rhea Ripley, trish Stratus and Miss Jackie.
Well, I know already where Istand with Miss Jackie, okay, so
I love you.
Jackie, see, there you go.
I appreciate that.
Now, there you go.
You should ask you thatquestion.
Oh my, God.

(26:15):
So I wouldn't marry none ofthem, but just to have fun and
be Trish Stratus.
So Rhea Ripley would just be afriend.
Just be a friend.
Yeah, I don't blame you, wouldn't marry none of them, but
just they'd have fun and dropit.

Speaker 1 (26:21):
Beatrice gratis, and what about?
So rhea ripley would just be afriend yes, be a friend yeah, I
don't blame you.
She's got a boyfriend thatwould kill you otherwise that's
what I'm saying, all right, let's see.
Uh, we do.
Uh, I think we got somebodyelse on here.
Let's see plot twist.
Jones, teddy, did you work withfreddie?
Uh, friends junior, yes, why doyou think he left?

(26:41):
Because he seems to really lovewrestling.
He was, or did, open his owncompany.
I don't think it's still openanymore, but tell you, how was
it working with him?

Speaker 2 (26:50):
It was nice.
He wrote some of my stuff thatI did.
Yeah, he was a real nice guytoo.
He had a great attitude, Ithink I don't know, but I just
think he couldn't take Vince.
You know, you know Vince didn'tplay man.
That man was strictly business, you know, and you didn't have
thick skin and you, you, you,you can't take this.
You, you got to be a man there.
So that might've been.

(27:12):
You know about him coming fromHollywood with all that, with
his father and all this, youknow that background, following
them around.
You know he probably felt likehe didn't have to.
You know, put up with that.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
Yeah, Rough cut Rick saying hey.
Teddy, during your tenure asmanager in WCW, can you remember
the roughest bump you ever tookand who gave it to you?

Speaker 2 (27:32):
I think the roughest bump I ever took.
It was Big Show.
And when I first startedworking there, I was refereeing
and Big Show grabbed me and hedidn't tell me and he went to
throw me out.
I was refereeing and Big Showgrabbed me and he didn't tell me
and he went to throw me out onthe floor.
And when he grabbed me andthrew me so quick he didn't give
me time to catch the secondrope there, to grab that rope
and break my fall.
So I went straight on throughand I'll never forget that's the

(27:52):
night I walked back in Gorillaand Vince stopped me and told me
he said don't you ever letanybody else do that to you?

Speaker 1 (28:01):
Yeah, I'd love to know from Big Show if we ever
get him on, to see if he evercaught hell about that from
Vince when he came through thecurtain.
I'd be curious.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
I don't know whether he did or not, I don't remember.
I think after Vince said thatto me, I walked on, I believe.

Speaker 1 (28:13):
Joseph, any fond memories or stories from Houston
wrestling?
I was born in 85, so I missedthe heyday, but love the stories
.
Hower at you and Rufus and theMag Daddy.
With love from H-Town.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
Well, I love you man over in H-Town Houston Wrestling
.
Only time I really worked inHouston is when the WWE went
there, you know for a TV or alive event.
So I enjoyed Houston.
It was a great time.
I enjoy going there all thetime.
In fact, after I started goingthere, I ended up meeting one of

(28:47):
the rappers there, a guy calledLittle Flip, and so I was able
to get on some videos withLittle Flip, on some rap videos,
and do a lot of stuff therewith him.
So Houston was a nice town.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
All right, let's see.
We have Denise Riley.
Oh, hey, she's saying tellTeddy, I'm watching.
I think he can see now thatyou're watching, and let's see
Joey77.
Hey, teddy, I watched yourwedding in WWE.
I thought that wedding was oneof the best ever.
How was it doing the wedding?

Speaker 2 (29:19):
Well, let me tell you something.
I'm so glad that this questioncame right after Denise said she
was watching us.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
Denise is a very special lady.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
Yes, she's a very special lady.
Yes, she's a very special lady.
And the only thing I canremember about that wedding is
there was somebody there thatcame to me and told me they
hated it, and I was trying toexplain to them.
This is not real, I don't care,I don't care.
And then I would say, well, no,you don't understand.
And the next thing I hear I'dhave killed that bitch, teddy.

(29:53):
I swear it's a true story, youcouldn't smarten her up.

Speaker 1 (30:01):
No, no, just wasn't going to happen.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
No, no, no.
I kept telling her.
I said this is not real, Idon't care.
I don't care.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
Good thing you didn't have one of those shower scenes
with one of the girls, likethey used to do back in the day.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
Oh, don't say that, because she's still watching.

Speaker 1 (30:17):
I'm still waiting.
By the way, I went out and hadsome banana pudding.
Today.
I found some banana pudding inthe store because I haven't had
any real homemade banana pudding.

Speaker 2 (30:29):
I don't care where you got it.
I don't care where you got itfrom.
It ain't Denise's bananapudding I I had.
I don't care where you got it.
I don't care where you got itfrom, it ain't denise's banana.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
Let's see we also have, uh, the final signal.
Say my last condolences.
May your son, may your son, rest in the arms of jesus.
Thank you all right, uh, we gotuh one more question now.
We got time in here.
We're actually a little bitover, but that's okay here.
It's just one more questionhere, teddy.
Uh, quentin, did you ever datewhat I hope denise keep watching

(30:58):
.
I didn't see this.
Did you ever date any of thefemale talent in wcw or wwe?

Speaker 2 (31:07):
no, that that yeah, a lot of guys did that, though a
lot of guys, you know, likeaustin, you know, I think, uh,
he met his wife, that I believethat when he first got married,
you know I didn't never do thatbecause that see, always I come
from the old school and that'ssomething you don't do.
You don't mix business withpleasure and pleasantly, you
don't date the women that ownyour job.
So I, like I said I'm from theold school.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
No, I never did that did that, thank God for ring
rats, okay.
Oh, wow, you done put over thering rats.
What, what?
I didn't say that I didn't know.
You knew anything about anyring rats?
I don't know anything aboutring rats, brother.
Oh sure you don't.
All right, you got to pick oneof these questions for tonight

(31:49):
to be the t-shirt winner thisweek.
Who's it going to be?

Speaker 2 (31:52):
Well, it'll be the person that wanted to know had I
ever put Undertaker in a tagteam match?

Speaker 1 (31:57):
All right, let me see I got to go back and see if I
can find that real quick.
Why don't you tell everybody, teddy, anything that's coming up
for you that we need to talkabout?

Speaker 2 (32:05):
No, I'm going to be taking it easy here the rest of
July.
We got some stuff coming up.
In August I'll be talking moreabout that.
I'm going to be up in Bellevue,Michigan, Going to be at Dragon
Con in Atlanta, Going to beover in Albany, New York, I
think August the 5th over therefor Immortal Championship

(32:26):
Wrestling.
I'm doing something with themgetting some type of an award.
So quite a few things are goingto be happening in August, but
with what's been happening, youknow, with my son and everything
.
So this this month here I'mjust going to, you know, just
kind of take it easy and geteverything done.

Speaker 1 (32:39):
Understandable.
All right, plot twist Jones.
That is our winner this week ofthe road trip after hours
t-shirt.
If you will just shoot me someinformation and we'll make sure
that you get that T-shirt.
Teddy, I'm out of here.
I hope you have a good eveningand tell Rufus I said hello,
wherever he may be.

Speaker 2 (32:58):
Where is he, rufus?
Let's see if we can get himbefore we go out.
Rufus.

Speaker 1 (33:02):
Rufus.
Let me tell you I've met Rufusagain for the first time since
he was just a little puppy andhis head's bigger than Teddy's
head.
Now Teddy's got a peanut head, but his dog, he's got a head on
him.
Anybody that ever thinksthey're going to walk up on
Teddy with that dog around, goodluck, you'll get eaten alive.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
You've got a cantaloupe head.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
Yeah, I do have a cantaloupe head.
It's got a little fuzz growingon it, maybe mold or something.
Let me tell you, rufus is, he'sknow what he's doing now.
He knows I'm calling him andwants him.
He ain't gonna come.
No, he's not wait.
Mostly a pretty classy lady,mac.
I thought you had on a slingfor your back, uh, but no, uh
actually.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
Uh, you're right, pretty glad he's working it,
he's, he's, he's working thegimmick brother, believe me yeah
, I got a few more days ofhaving to wear this sling.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
I had a shoulder, tricep and bicep surgery done a
couple weeks ago, and so I'mlooking forward to getting out
of this damn sling.
I already told Teddy.
I told you the other night Idon't even know why I'm wearing
it, because I'm moving it aroundlike I shouldn't be, but it
doesn't hurt, that's probably agood thing you got to take it
easy, man, don't get in a hurry.
No, no, because, like I told you, I got to go.

(34:12):
Once I get out of here, I'mgoing to get back in that gym
and hit it hard like I used toand see what kind of shape I can
get back in at my age.
So all right, let's see.
Is there anything else?
I hate cutting anybody off.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
Michael.
Hey, teddy, what was it likeworking with Drew McIntyre,
great guy.
I had a great time with Drew.
He probably remembers when Drewwas the one that Vince, he was
the chosen one and he had me onmy knees and he went to the
thing where I told him this too.
I said, well, he said what canwe do?
I said I tell you what you do.
Everybody loves their grandkids.
I said so use that.
I said I'll go to walk out ofthe ring and you hit me with
what are your grandkids going tothink of you?
Then I'll stop and I'll pauseand then I'll turn and then I'll

(34:56):
look at you.
But now you know you got me.

Speaker 1 (34:59):
All right, guys, we're out of here.
We hope that you'll come backand see us again next week.
Thank you so much for being apart of the show this week and
all the nice comments for Teddyand his loss, and thank you
everybody.
Yeah, it really does mean a lot.
We'll see you back here nextThursday night, same time, same
place, seven o'clock Eastern.
