I really didn't have anyaspirations in actually doing
anything like that.
I was at a signing and agentleman came up to me and he
was like, hey, you ever thinkabout doing a YouTube channel?
So you know, I get approached alot about doing stuff like that
or whatever business deal.
And I was just like yeah, yeah,yeah, whatever.

And he was like no, I'm serious.
I was like okay, man, give me acard and we'll talk.
So he walked away from me and Isomething just said you know
what?
This could probably be legit,it could probably be something
that's real.
Why not take them up on theoffer?
Sometimes you'll get a thousandoffers, but that thousand, that
thousand one, is the one thatdoes it for you.

And they were legit.

They came down to my place andthey had the microphones, they

done some stuff in independentwrestling and they always would

I may never have done that spotbefore.

And I just cracked up because Iknew exactly what you were
talking about snooker, they saidwhen he was selling out Madison
Square Garden with Roddy Piper.

Sometimes he wouldn't show up at the shows, you know,
and the one time that everybodyfrom back in the day seemed to
have the same story and theytell it to a teeth, where he
sold out Madison Square Garden,the line is around the corner
trying to get into the garden tosee him and Piper go at it.

He looked at the marquee.

He looked at the limo driver.

But Jimmy Snooker, to me thatwas me telling him no, when I
was with you.
I was very nice on the video.

I heard somewhere in an interview uh, before I saw
that video where you haddiscussed.
That was somewhere else and youhad kind of said that bubba at
the last minute said devon,that's your spot.
And you're like, oh hell, no,it's not no no when it came to
your matches and some of thelayouts of what we saw with you
and the hardys and everyone elsewho was the mastermind behind
that was.

But the main person was MichaelHayes, to be honest with you,
because he was our producer forjust about every one of our TLC
matches, our Raw and SmackDownmatches.
He was the guy.
So you know he would come to us.
And Vince, you know.
Vince knew that when a certainproducer would click and Teddy

can testify to this when therewas a certain producer that
clicked with talent, vince wouldkeep that producer with that
talent Smart.
So to have the Dudleys and theHardys and Edge and Christian
all together to have that oneguy, michael Hayes, be able to
work with us and to be able tocreate chemistry with all of us,

that was great and we just hita home run.
Every single time.
We all had the input with whatwe wanted in the matches and
everything.
So it wasn't just one of usbasically that was instrumental
in putting everything together.
It was all of us as acollective unit.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
We all did it how did you end up now, when you talk
about some of these big matches?
All the high spots in some ofthese matches involved you, and
you did not care for heightswhatsoever.
So how did it end up that youwere the one taking those spots?
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Well, a lot of times, yes, and I was afraid of it.
But at the same token, you knowwhen the adrenaline is rushing
through your body and I thinkmentally I knew this, even
though I was afraid of going up,whether it be the top rope or
hanging with Jeff 25 to 30 feetup in the air.
I knew once we startedproceeding to the spot and

whether it would be climbing upa ladder or what have you.
I was pretty much able toovercome that fear because,
number one, I got Vince McMahonwatching in the go position,
which is the gorilla, and youknow you better do right.
That's one.
And two, you know you're infront of the crowd so you don't
want to look like an idiotbecause you're scared to go up
the ladder.
You can't be scared, so you gotto go.
(09:09):
I think that was one of thereasons why I was able to do all
of that was because I just knewI put myself in that
predicament where, if I go outthere, I got no other choice but
to do it.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
And the worst thing you can do is to let Vince know
that you're scared or you don'twant to do something.
That's the worst thing youcould ever do.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
You don't ever tell Vince that you don't tell the
guys you're working with thateither, because won't they put
you in that position every timeif you're selling?

They'll sue you right off.

I would say the first four years of WWE.

I loved ECW, it was great, butit was the beginning of

there at that point, so weweren't on superstar status at
that point, although ECW, I willalways say, was my first home,

it was the place where I learnedso much.
But the WWE, when we got thereduring the attitude era on fire
unbelievable.
I had never witnessed anythinglike that before in my life and
to this day I haven't witnessedanything like that before.
How healthy I was in terms ofbody, wise, I wasn't hurting.
You know, everything was strong.
I had no fear of anything.

And you know I would take abump and be like would not know
what would happen if I went thewrong way on a bump.
You know, because when you'reyoung you don't care.
You know, you think you'reinvincible.

I heard somewhere in an interview uh, before I saw

That was somewhere else and youhad kind of said that bubba at

And you're like, oh hell, no,it's not no no when it came to
your matches and some of thelayouts of what we saw with you
and the hardys and everyone elsewho was the mastermind behind
that was.

all were.
But the main person was MichaelHayes, to be honest with you,
because he was our producer forjust about every one of our TLC
matches, our Raw and SmackDownmatches.
He was the guy.
So you know he would come to us.
And Vince, you know.
Vince knew that when a certainproducer would click and Teddy

can testify to this when therewas a certain producer that
clicked with talent, vince wouldkeep that producer with that
talent Smart.
So to have the Dudleys and theHardys and Edge and Christian
all together to have that oneguy, michael Hayes, be able to
work with us and to be able tocreate chemistry with all of us,
(07:51):
that was great and we just hita home run.
Every single time.
We all had the input with whatwe wanted in the matches and
everything.
So it wasn't just one of usbasically that was instrumental
in putting everything together.
It was all of us as acollective unit.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
We all did it how did you end up now, when you talk
about some of these big matches?
All the high spots in some ofthese matches involved you, and
you did not care for heightswhatsoever.
So how did it end up that youwere the one taking those spots?
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Well, a lot of times, yes, and I was afraid of it.
But at the same token, you knowwhen the adrenaline is rushing
through your body and I thinkmentally I knew this, even
though I was afraid of going up,whether it be the top rope or
hanging with Jeff 25 to 30 feetup in the air.
I knew once we startedproceeding to the spot and

whether it would be climbing upa ladder or what have you.
I was pretty much able toovercome that fear because,
number one, I got Vince McMahonwatching in the go position,
which is the gorilla, and youknow you better do right.
That's one.
And two, you know you're infront of the crowd so you don't
want to look like an idiotbecause you're scared to go up
the ladder.
You can't be scared, so you gotto go.
(09:09):
I think that was one of thereasons why I was able to do all
of that was because I just knewI put myself in that
predicament where, if I go outthere, I got no other choice but
to do it.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
And the worst thing you can do is to let Vince know
that you're scared or you don'twant to do something.
That's the worst thing youcould ever do.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
You don't ever tell Vince that you don't tell the
guys you're working with thateither, because won't they put
you in that position every timeif you're selling?
Speaker 3 (09:38):
They'll sue you right off.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Right off.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
They'll go straight to Vince and tell him they'll
sue you right off.

five-year period, where wouldyou go back?

I would say the first four years of WWE.
Don't get me wrong.
I loved ECW, it was great, butit was the beginning of
everything.
You know social media wasn'tout, the money wasn't really
there at that point, so weweren't on superstar status at
that point, although ECW, I willalways say, was my first home,

it was the place where I learnedso much.
But the WWE, when we got thereduring the attitude era on fire
unbelievable.
I had never witnessed anythinglike that before in my life and
to this day I haven't witnessedanything like that before.
How healthy I was in terms ofbody, wise, I wasn't hurting.
You know, everything was strong.
I had no fear of anything.

And you know I would take abump and be like would not know
what would happen if I went thewrong way on a bump.
You know, because when you'reyoung you don't care.
You know, you think you'reinvincible.
That is what I would love to donow.

Just stay in that gym and keep moving.

That's all you have to do.
A lot of times when I'm doingcardio or something, I think
about Teddy, because I knowwhere he was before he got into
great shape and what he did tostay there.
There were times when we'd beout and we would be at the
restaurant downstairs at a hotelor what have you.
Teddy would come down there, hewould get his food, sit down,
maybe sit down and eat with us,and there'd be a whole thing of

bread right there that they gavehim.
He'd sit there and pour somemilk or whatever inside the
bread so he wouldn't eat it.

That's dedication right there.

Absolutely, I mean there's stuff like that.
So you know, when you seesomeone that really doesn't have
to work out like that, but theydo, that kind of gives you an
inspiration to really go outthere and to make yourself
better.
Because you know again, nobodywants to live to 200, but I
definitely want to live to 100.
I want to try to at least,because you know I've got small

kids and I want I.
I've always said this.
I don't want to try to at leastbecause I've got small kids and
I have always said this.
I don't want to go before theyunderstand what death is.
I don't want to go before theyunderstand why daddy's not here
anymore, why did God take himaway?
I want to be able to get mybody right, eat right and to do
the right thing and exercise.
Exercise is the biggest thingOnce you retire and stop.
