I'm Robbin, your empowermentcoach.
Welcome to the Nest, as we arein North Carolina and we've just
experienced such a big stormthat hit our region, impacted
thousands of people.
People lost everything.
I begin to think about whenstorms come in our lives, when,

(00:38):
out of the blue, somethinghorrific happens and it impacts
everything.
Have you ever had a storm comeunexpectedly and it was not a
small storm, not like a littlerain that you drive and you're
driving in one spot and it's dry, and then the next thing you
know you keep driving and it hasrained somewhere else and you

(01:02):
can drive through that storm.
It's interesting, because thepavement is dry on one side, but
then it's not on the other side.
No, this is not just a tropicalstorm, this is a hurricane.
It's a big storm.
It comes with a lot of wind andit comes with a lot of rain,

(01:23):
and it comes with a tornado thathas the ability to lift
everything in your life up andturn it upside down.
It is the husband that walks inafter 15 years and says he
wants a divorce.
It's not just a little drip,it's not a drizzle.
This is a full-fledgedhurricane.

(01:43):
It comes to interrupteverything in your life.
It turns everything upside down.
It's the sudden loss of afamily member, a beloved mother.
Out of the blue, it wasunexpected and it hit your life
and it turned everything upsidedown.
And it turned everything upsidedown.
This hurricane has come andtossed up roads where people

(02:09):
can't drive anymore, they can'tfind food, they don't have
electricity.
What about in your life?
Have you had a storm hit youout of the blue that turned
everything upside down?
It took you up in a whirlwind, almost like you're inside the
eye of the tornado.
You're inside the storm and itturns you upside down and you

(02:33):
don't even know which way you'regoing.
It has impacted your finances.
It has impacted your emotions,it has impacted your children.
It has impacted everything.
It's the kind of storm thatcomes to wipe you out.
It can be deadly.
It came out of nowhere.
You didn't even have anywarning.
There was no beep on the radio.

(02:55):
It was so quick that you almostdidn't even get the warning
signal on your telephone thatsomething has come that has the
ability to wipe out every partof your life.
It impacts your job, it impactsyour children, it impacts your
finances.
It's the kind of storm thatcomes to destroy you, to destroy

(03:16):
your mental capacity, todestroy everything in you.
It upsets your mindset.
It upsets your money.
It upsets your relationshipswith your family.
It is a big mindset.
It upsets your money.
It upsets your relationshipswith your family.
It is a big storm.
It's a hurricane.
How many of you have had ahurricane hit your life and
turned everything upside down?
And now you got to rebuild.

(03:36):
You got to start from scratch.
You got to start from thebeginning, because now you don't
have anything.
You don't have your ID, youdon't have food.
Everything is having to beshipped in Because you are in a
place where you have losteverything Because of an
unexpected storm.
It snuck up on you.
You weren't expecting it.

(03:57):
Everything was fine, it wassunny, you were good, you were
working, you were happy, youwere going out, you were having
fun with your friends.
But now it's time to rebuild.
The storm is over and nowyou're looking at the remnant of
what used to be.
You're looking at all thethings that used to be standing

(04:21):
where your neighbors used to be,where your house used to be,
and now you've got to figure outhow do I start over after the
storm, after the divorce, afterI get over the shock that he
wants a divorce.
After I get over the shock thatyour wife walked out and left,
after you get over the shockthat the mistress is pregnant,

(04:43):
after you get over the shockthat you lost your job of 10
years and now you have no income.
After the shock of the hurricane, now comes the time that I need
to start to rebuild.
I'm looking around in confusiontrying to figure out where do I
even start?
How do I start rebuilding again?

(05:05):
But you got some people thatcome and they come together and
they give you some aid.
They'll let you talk to themand they'll give you some good
counsel and say you know whatit's going to.
Be all right, I went through adivorce and I'm better now.
I'm healed now.
So now I begin to learn how tobegin to build my self-esteem

(05:28):
back up.
I begin to learn how to get myfinances back together.
I began to learn how to get myfinances back together.
I began to, day by day, sometimes hour by hour, having
to rebuild after somethingimpacted me to such a degree
that it tore up everything, notone thing.

(05:49):
It wasn't light winds, it wasthe kind of thing that the trees
came and everything isdestroyed in my life.
I got to start rebuilding now.
But now I have some help.
I have some friends.
I have some girlfriends thatwant to take me out and tell me

(06:09):
that it's going to be okay.
I have some people at work thatare telling me who's hiring
again and they're sendingbecause you were so stuck in
that one place.

(06:36):
Now I have to move, I have tochange and I don't have a choice
but to go through the open door, because the other door has
slammed behind me.
I don't have a choice but to goforward, because everything
that was behind me is gone.
So now I can rebuild myconfidence and I can rebuild my
finances.
And now I got a better job.

(06:57):
And now later, after I'mrecovered, I look back and I'll
never remember what my old houselooked like, because the new
house is bigger and it's betterand everything in it is new.
I don't have to fix anythingbecause now everything in it is
new and I don't have to begin torebuild because now everything
is new and I don't have to beginto rebuild.

(07:17):
Now there's a new relationshipand this man treats me like a
queen and he don't even want tothink about divorce.
Sometimes the storm comes toclear out, old debris, to clean
out old things so that you canbegin to build again.
The hurricanes come, theydestroy, the uproot, but it's

(07:38):
not over, because I'm not dead.
It didn't take me out.
I'm still here, which meansthat I have another opportunity
to rebuild.
I have another opportunity tostart again.
New relationship, new job, newclothes, new car Everything's

(07:59):
replaceable.
Well, when the hurricane comes, hold on, just know the storm
will not last always.
The sun will shine again, youwill have a new relationship,
you will have new friends, youwill get new clothes and a new

(08:19):
job.
After the hurricane, after thestorm comes, the clouds will
leave, the sun will start topeek through again and you'll
smile again.
You'll laugh again, you'll goout again.
You'll rebuild after the storm.

(08:39):
I'm going to rebuild because thestorm does not last always.
Joy is coming in the morning.
I'm going to survive this storm, no matter how big it is,
because it didn't take me out.
I'm still alive.
I'm still here, which means Ihave the ability to start over.
I won't allow the hurricane, the big storm, the unexpected to

(09:06):
stop me, to keep me from goingto my next level.
It might have come just toclear out the old, the old stuff
I was holding on to and didn'twant to let go of, and a storm
had to come to take it away, just so I would have to rebuild.
Just so I would have to rebuild, just so I would have to get

(09:27):
into a better place in my life.
Storms are going to come.
They may come unexpectedly, they may be big ones, but it's
okay.
The sun will shine again andyou will live again again, even
through the hurricane.
This is Robin from Robbin's.
Nest.
We're survivors, even after thestorm.
