After a tense battle with a monstrous worm, our heroes face new mysteries: Bolete is afflicted by glowing blue veins, creates an animated mushroom, and Kellen miraculously sprouts feathery wings. Their search for Old Man Engelroot leads to a confrontation in a study, where he's guarded by ice sentry elementals and hides a suspicious secret.
