Devonnie (00:03):
Welcome to Romance
Rec.
We are three romance obsessedbesties, sharing book recs
broken down by genres andtropes, so you can be sure
you're getting exactly what youwant out of your next read.
Hey guys, this is Dev and I amcurrently reading or listening
to plus sized player by DanielleAllen.
Jordan (00:22):
Woo.
Hi, I am Jordan and an hour ago, finished the Dream Thieves Book
two in the Raven Cycle by MaggieSty, fan Ter.
So I'm in between
Devonnie (00:37):
oh,
Christina (00:38):
hi guys.
I'm Christina and I currentlyjust started reading City of
Ruin, which is book two of theWitch Walker series by Carissa
Weeks.
Devonnie (00:47):
Yes.
Christina (00:50):
Okay guys, so buckle
up for some bookish banter.
Jordan (00:56):
for the last time in
season two, or.
Devonnie (01:00):
you guys all sad
listeners?
This is our last episode forseason two.
Christina (01:06):
Yeah
Devonnie (01:07):
what a whirlwind of
book recs we've had.
So
Jordan (01:10):
Geez.
Devonnie (01:11):
exciting.
Today's episode is actuallybrought to you by some
attendees.
We had at our last meetup, ourGallant Times's event, we
actually had winners of our whatwas
Christina (01:22):
extremely hard
trivia.
Hard, brought to you by Devin.
Jordan (01:25):
level.
Devonnie (01:26):
yeah.
I'm, yeah.
I'm not gonna lie to you.
Don't pick me to do trivia'causeit's gonna be hard if you like
hard things.
I'm your girl.
If you don't.
Find somebody else to do it.
So yeah, they won
Jordan (01:39):
everything hard and she
All hard.
Yeah.
Devonnie (01:43):
all the time.
Anyway, they won trivia and soone of the prizes of that was to
basically pick our, pick anepisode for this season.
And we were assigned friends tolovers, which I can say we all
probably equally hate.
I don't know.
Do we
Christina (01:57):
Oh yes.
Devonnie (01:58):
How do you guys
Jordan (01:59):
no, I love, I like it.
I enjoy
Devonnie (02:01):
it's just me.
It's just me and Christina.
Cool.
Cool.
Christina (02:03):
I do not like
Jordan (02:04):
I, no, I enjoy it.
I enjoy it.
Devonnie (02:07):
I will say, you know
what, hate is a strong word.
I don't enjoy friends to lovers,but it,
Jordan (02:11):
It's not when you seek
out.
Devonnie (02:13):
yes, not one I seek
out, but the ones I've read hit
I have some wrecks for y'allthat really hit in the Friends
lovers department, you know?
But yeah, it's not my favorite ttrope.
Jordan (02:23):
You gotta dig through
them though.
I feel like it takes a while toreally get to,'cause some people
like I, and I think we can just, yeah, and I think we can discuss
this as we go.
Sometimes I don't quite followlike the logic of some of the
things and,
Christina (02:37):
Agreed
Jordan (02:38):
but I think when it's
good because that's it can be
like the ultimate pining, youcan get the ultimate pining out
of that and the buildup and theslow
Christina (02:48):
and I will agree that
the best relationships are
founded in a friendship.
A hundred
Devonnie (02:53):
Yeah.
Right.
Christina (02:54):
I just don't think
you need to be friends for two
decades to get there, but that'sjust me.
Devonnie (02:58):
And most of the time,
like most of the time in French
lovers too, they're like.
They've been harboring thesefeelings for years and I think
that's what takes a'cause.
Like baby girl, sir.
Stand up, like somebody saysomething.
'cause
Jordan (03:12):
The friendship
Devonnie (03:14):
The friendship can
burn.
What if there's a lovingrelationship on the other side,
you know,
Christina (03:19):
it burn.
Devonnie (03:20):
let it burn.
Anyway, we'll get into it andlike I said, it's not my
favorite trope, but I do havereally good wrecks that I stand
behind.
So I got a little bit ofeverything
Jordan (03:29):
So I will say that the
group that chose this, and I
talked to one of the members ofthe group that did trivia,
right?
Shout out em.
I love her so much.
She is one of our besties.
She listens to, everything, shecomes to all of our events.
I worked with her years ago.
She's so sweet.
I love her.
Her handle on Instagram is bookreading princess.
(03:50):
M she was, I was messaging herabout this trope.
And I was like, okay, you recco, this is the trope your group
chose.
You gotta tell me like, do youhave some good books for me?
Devonnie (04:01):
Yeah.
Jordan (04:02):
Ahead of this episode
and She listed somehow out.
She's honestly.
And I take those all with agrain of salt.
I don't know why we chose thatone.
We couldn't really think ofanything.
And that was the name of ourgroup for trivia was Friends to
Lovers.
So here we are, thank you all somuch.
Christina (04:18):
Wow.
Devonnie (04:18):
Wow.
So they punished us.
Yeah.
Jordan (04:21):
are here to do their
homework.
We are here and that's what thepod is.
Anyways, that's what we are herefor.
And after all that said, I hadeight friends to lovers and I
read two specifically in thelead up to this.
'cause I wanted some freshstuff, but I have a lot.
So that I enjoyed that.
I enjoyed.
Christina (04:40):
You know, when a
teacher tells you, write three
to five sentences, I wrote threesentences.
Okay, that's, I did the bareminimum I had to do for this
episode.
I'm like, no, thank you.
Jordan (04:49):
But on that note, I will
share my first quote because
this is one of my favorite.
Series of all time, and it justso happens to be a friends to
lovers.
Okay.
This is from Sinner's Playgroundby Caroline Peckham and Susie
and Valenti.
Devonnie (05:06):
Of course.
Going out with a bang.
Jordan (05:09):
I had to, there was just
a part of my soul that was
always going to ache for theboys.
These men had once been andwould recognize them even in the
dark because they grew up aslike kids before romantic
relationships came into play.
And there's just something aboutknowing someone their whole
life.
Devonnie (05:30):
Yeah.
That's so sweet.
Jordan (05:32):
yeah.
And it's why choose so all thebest things.
Christina (05:35):
Okay, well I have a
quote.
Devonnie (05:37):
perfect.
Christina (05:38):
also from a
recommendation today, and I felt
like it really kind ofencapsulates friends to lovers
how there's always like theseblunders going on and no one
really knows what's happeningtill it's happening.
So the quote is from the bookHim by Serena Bowen.
Oh wait, it says Jesus.
Good thing he's not a trafficcop because he's sending enough
(05:58):
mixed signals to cause a 10 carpile up.
Devonnie (06:01):
Oh my gosh, that's
cute.
Very funny.
Okay.
Okay.
This quote is from one of mywrecks.
I'm gonna share it because it'sjust so ridiculous and I think
outta control, but it is frombehind the Camera by Chelsea.
Curto We'll get into that in abit and it's.
What about the plates?
(06:21):
I tease and he opens the door tohis bedroom.
Washing dishes is one of yourfavorite pastimes.
I think.
Fucking you into the mattressmight edge it out, so I'd like
to give that a shot.
Christina (06:32):
Ooh.
Devonnie (06:33):
Yeah, the whole
fucking into the mattress thing.
I, feel like that's justsomething that gets me, like
Jordan (06:38):
No.
Very
Devonnie (06:40):
the mattress Very
specific.
It like just pulls a certaintype of visual for me, you know?
Jordan (06:46):
I do know.
Let's take a moment and let thatvisual
Devonnie (06:49):
Yeah.
Uhhuh,
Jordan (06:52):
Thank you.
Devonnie (06:53):
right?
Jordan (06:53):
Thank you, Chelsea.
Devonnie (06:55):
Yeah.
Thanks Chelsea.
Jordan (06:57):
Well, I'm gonna jump in
and I'm gonna start because I am
the most excited for this, andI'm gonna just get us going.
I will say, I'm not gonna talkabout Sinner's Playground, the
book, my quote came from, because I've talked about it on
another episodes.
I just go look it up if youhaven't.
Okay.
Or better yet, go back andlisten to our whole catalog,
you'll hear.
So my first recommendation todayis called The Pact by Bell
(07:19):
Harper.
This is an Omega verse, whychoose friends to Enemies to
Lovers?
Okay.
Christina (07:29):
Wow.
Packs a lot in there.
Jordan (07:31):
I mean, yeah, and it's a
light bully romance.
So
Christina (07:36):
It's up your alley.
Jordan (07:38):
it's right up my alley.
It follows Mila, Roman, Jace andHunter from high school through
college.
And so it, it has alternatingtimelines.
So with the change in chapters, you get not only change of POVs,
but change of whether we'reseeing them as teenagers or
we're seeing them as youngadults.
(08:00):
So Mila and her boys were thebest friends growing up.
Like they were their own littlegroup.
They were super tight.
No one could get in there.
They'd spend every day, all daytogether during the summers.
I mean, they had their owntreehouse in one of the kids'
backyards, and it was theirspot, right.
Mila and her boys and everyoneknew it too.
(08:20):
Also, she didn't know this atthe time, but like all the boys
in the school knew to stay awayfrom Mila like that.
That was a no go because theywere looking out.
So,
Devonnie (08:32):
off limits.
Jordan (08:33):
yeah.
So when she emerges as an omega,'cause remember this is an Omega
verse.
The
Christina (08:39):
Of
Jordan (08:39):
all, the boys are
obviously a pack, right?
But she emerges as an omega andthe nature of their relationship
begins to change.
But due to her abusive home lifesecret, like with this shift in
becoming an omega, things changevery quickly and very
drastically at home.
(09:00):
And I'm not gonna talk thespecifics about it because
that's, you know, a big mysteryin the book, but she's ripped
from their lives without a word.
So she basically to themdisappears overnight after
making some big statements andpromises to each other.
And it's caused years ofabandonment and resentment
(09:20):
between her and the boys untilshe literally bumps into them
the first day at college.
She literally turns around, theydon't recognize her at first and
like it's this whole thing.
But of course there's a mistakeat housing and she gets put into
(09:41):
their suite
Devonnie (09:43):
of course.
Jordan (09:44):
because duh.
There is some light bullying andthere it should not be possible
for an Omega to be even behoused with.
Alphas like it's not.
But anyways, it is just likethings and how their past truths
are revealed and what reallyhappened on both sides and then
not only that, but they alsohave, they do, this book does a
(10:05):
great job of unpacking like whothey each became because of
this.
Does that make sense?
Like the way they all chose tohandle their different traumas,
they do a great job inrepresenting those and unpacking
them.
So some of the characters have aharder time moving forward than
others, but they really tried toget the help they need and I
just really enjoyed it.
(10:27):
So yeah.
That's the pact by Bell Harper.
Devonnie (10:31):
I love that.
Jordan (10:32):
Yay.
Devonnie (10:33):
Cool.
Christina (10:33):
have one quick
question, Jordan.
When you say light bullying, some of us don't recognize what
you consider light bullying.
So tell us on a scale of one to10, what is this light
Devonnie (10:42):
Yeah.
Christina (10:43):
I go into it.
Jordan (10:44):
That's a good example.
Like they're just really, they're really rude to her.
They go out of their way.
I think they're mostly just, I'mtrying to remember if they
actually do, it's why it'scalled light bullying.
It's not like they're settingher up.
It's not like they're settingher up for these big things.
Christina (11:03):
It.
So there's no big
Devonnie (11:03):
being rude.
Jordan (11:05):
like it's even described
like under Jean, it's called
light bullying.
Like in the description for the,Good
Christina (11:10):
I just know sometimes
we're on different wavelengths
for light bullying.
Jordan (11:14):
Mm-hmm.
They do have sex with otherpeople in the living room while
she's home.
So there's
Devonnie (11:20):
That's rough
Jordan (11:21):
there's shit that
happens.
Devonnie (11:22):
But also she left.
She left, and they don't know
Jordan (11:25):
She's, and she's caught,
like looking around the corner
and watching them, and it's
Devonnie (11:29):
Oh, Mila.
Mila.
Christina (11:30):
voyeurism.
Devonnie (11:31):
Don't get caught,
baby.
Jordan (11:34):
there's yeah.
Devonnie (11:35):
Okay.
Yeah.
Well, I guess y'all just gonnahave to read that.
Jordan (11:39):
Definitely.
Devonnie (11:40):
All right.
I guess I'll go.
Okay, so my next rec is actuallytwo, and I'm pretty sure I've
spoken about the Love through aLens series by Chelsea Kdo
multiple times ad nauseum, likey'all are probably sick of it.
But I do love Chelsea.
And this series like was one ofmy favorites.
The first this series kind ofblossomed out of her just
writing a novella, I think.
(12:01):
And then we got an entire seriesout of it.
And so the two books are caughton camera and then behind the
camera caught on camera followsSean Holmes and Lacey Daniels.
And they are.
Respectively, the best friendsof the people in the novella
camera chemistry.
And because those two peopleended up in a relationship, Sean
(12:22):
and Lacey end up spending a lotof time together.
Lacey is like this free birdalso in fashion.
But Sean is a NFL coach for nffootball team.
Yeah.
And basically they're justreally good friends.
They're there for each other.
They were forced proximity inthe respect that their best
friends got together.
(12:42):
But they, you know, they'refine.
They're best friends.
They all hang out.
And then one, yeah, they vibe.
One day Lacey comes to a gamewith a date and the date is like
effing awful.
Like the date is so bad.
Yeah.
And something happens on thedate, but basically I think a
kiss cam.
(13:03):
Moment tries to happen and thedate could it was like not
happening.
So Sean takes it on himself tonot have his girl be
embarrassed.
Are you kidding me?
He's not gonna have her therefloundering, looking crazy.
So I think he goes and kissesher because her date refused to,
and she's like panicking.
So he kisses her.
And then basically, you know, inthe age of social media, rumors
(13:26):
fly, oh, co NFL Coach SeanHolmes was kissing this girl
who's the girl, blah, blah, blah, which pretty much changes
their friendship.
They try to fake a relationshipthrough the holidays because
there's a lot of uptick and it'sobviously mutually beneficial.
And throughout this friendshipthey realized wait, you're my
person.
You're always over here everyThursday so we can play video
(13:46):
games and eat pizza.
Why don't we just do that?
As like boyfriend andgirlfriend,
Jordan (13:52):
With orgasms.
Why don't we do that withorgasms?
Devonnie (13:55):
And there, some of the
hottest scenes happening here,
Sean, the man that you are.
But it's so cute.
He, it's so tender and you seetheir friendship way before you
actually realize that they'reinto each other or before they
come to the realization thatthey're into each other.
So it's very cute, it's verywholesome.
But once that for instance, thelovers parts hits balls to the
(14:18):
wall.
It's so good.
And then book three
Jordan (14:20):
are flying
Devonnie (14:22):
balls are actually
Christina (14:23):
Heavy on balls.
Devonnie (14:24):
lots of balls.
And then the other book isbehind the camera, which.
Book three, and it basicallyfollows Maven Wood and Dallas.
What is Dallas last name?
I can't remember.
But Dal Dallas.
Lansfield Maven is actually thedaughter of the main character
(14:48):
in camera chemistry.
So the couple that gets togetherthere, the guy is a single
father and his daughter isMaven.
Maven is also Sean's, likegoddaughter.
Goddaughter, like his very uncledaughter, dad, vibes between
Maven and Sean.
Jordan (15:02):
Not the guy that she's
getting with Christina.
That's a
Devonnie (15:05):
yeah.
No.
Oh,
Jordan (15:06):
also.
Also, I would just like tointerject that Chelsea and she's
talked about this on her socialand stuff, had to do a little
finagling'cause she messed upwith the time jump and how old
Maven was.
And she's you guys are justgonna have to play like fairy
land in that and
Devonnie (15:20):
yes, exactly.
And which honestly, it was veryeasy for me to ignore that if I
didn't dig too deep, like it was
Jordan (15:26):
don't think about
Christina (15:26):
Just reading for the
vibes.
Devonnie (15:28):
Yeah, exactly.
But Maven, let's, Maven isSean's goddaughter Sean.
Sean is the NFL coach.
Right on that team is DallasLansfield.
Dallas is a single dad, and hehas a baby girl that we call
Junebug.
And basically Maven is in apredicament where she needs a
new job and she becomes Dallas'snanny.
They start off as friends.
(15:48):
Like it's very much friendship, like again, mutually beneficial.
And then it's not, then it's, mydaughter really loves you.
Then it's, we're making dinnerand having drinks, and now we're
having sex.
It's, you like see thefriendship kind of developed
between them, which is reallycute.
It was really sweet.
And Maven is like a, she's Idon't think she had one bad
(16:09):
character.
Like I couldn't find a flaw withMaven.
So she was very sure of herself.
She knew what she wanted and shewas willing to take risks.
Yeah I thought she was like areally well written just like
wholesome character.
And then Dallas, of course, he'sa single dad.
He wants to make sure he picksthe right woman to be around his
daughter.
And when he found that in Maven, you know, they, you see their
relationship progress as well.
(16:30):
They each have to go go throughtheir own hurdles.
But like these two books in thatseries I think are really good.
And I know you're probablythinking, why didn't I include
the first book in the FrenchLovers?
'cause that is not French toLovers baby.
They meet at a photo shoot andthen they together.
Like it's very much so InstaLove, if anything
Jordan (16:48):
so good though.
That was
Devonnie (16:50):
is
Jordan (16:51):
Chelsea book and
Devonnie (16:52):
It is really good.
And I think you don't have toread their book first, but those
characters are in books two andthree, and so it's way better,
you kind of, it sets the playingfield, so if you do, you are
looking for a little spice, well, a lot of spice.
And also friends to lovers.
I would definitely check out TheLove through a Lens series by
Chelsea Kdo.
I love Chelsea.
I love her work.
She's cranking out books likecrazy right now, but yeah.
(17:15):
Yeah, check this out.
So that's my French to lovers.
The, and again the key to Frenchto lovers is you have to see
them as friends.
They can't, it can't just belike, oh, he's my friend, but
I'm in love.
I need to see some of thatfriendship develop.
And I think these books bothhave that.
Christina (17:29):
Nice.
Okay, so my first recommendationis people we meet on vacation by
Emily Henry.
I think this was my first EmilyHenry book.
Actually, I don't think I'veread one before first, so I'm
excited.
So this book follows bestfriends, poppy and Alex who met
in college and we're surprisedto find out they're both from
neighboring tiny towns inIndiana.
(17:50):
And so that's how they firstmet.
They have nothing at all incommon, like the most opposite
people on planet earth.
But they agree to car will coolcarpool back to Indiana together
because might as well share thegas, right?
And then on their drive back, maybe they feel, realize they
have one thing in common, sothey're like, let's hang out
this summer.
Right?
(18:10):
And they.
Decide to hang out.
And Poppy confesses, like sheloves to travel, but she's never
traveled.
That's all she wants to do inher life.
And Alex is oh, I've nevertraveled either.
It sounds like fun.
So then they decide they'regonna travel together to
Vancouver Island.
So that's their first summertogether ever.
They go to Vancouver Island andhave an amazing time.
And so it becomes tradition forAlex and Poppy to go on vacation
(18:32):
every single summer together.
And they go traveling all aroundthe world.
And so the book is set up whereyou have like modern this summer
and then like 12 summers go thenthis summer, then 11 summers go
and it goes back and forth everysingle summer to kind of see
their relationship.
But as they get older and havecareers and stuff, they stop
hanging out.
Really?
Right.
And Poppy is like miserable.
(18:52):
She misses having her bestfriend Alex around.
So she calls him up and she'sHey, let's go on one of these
vacations again.
And he's well actually, I'vealready gotta go to my brother's
wedding.
And she's that's okay.
We'll make your brother'swedding in Palm Springs, like
our destination.
And he's okay, sure, fine.
And so she decides she's gonnahave this perfect trip to make
Alex be friends with her again.
(19:13):
So she plans this amazing trip, right?
But everything goes wrong onthis trip.
So, the AC goes out in theirAirbnb and it's like a hundred
degrees in Palm Springs.
They have this faulty rental carwith a tire that bursts in the
middle of the road.
And then a kid like has diarrheain the pool and they have to
empty the pool so they can'teven go relax in the pool.
(19:33):
It's like awful.
Alex is having a miserable timeand Poppy's trying to finagle
this.
Trip to work.
Right.
It's rough,
Devonnie (19:43):
It's
Christina (19:43):
couldn't go worse,
but
Jordan (19:45):
Well, and they're
already tense, right?
They're already like, theirrelationship
Devonnie (19:50):
It's not seamless.
Jordan (19:51):
their relationship is
strained to begin with.
So.
Christina (19:54):
So pop's really just
trying to bring this whole trip
together and she finally is justplease let's be friends.
And he's we're not even friendsanymore.
Devonnie (20:04):
Good god.
Christina (20:06):
It's so rough.
Devonnie (20:07):
Yeah.
I'm like, I'm having secondhandembarrassment for Poppy.
I'm like, girl, why are youtrying so hard?
Jordan (20:13):
Well, and the reason
that they fell out, sorry, I
read this one too.
The reason they fell out issuper Aw.
It feels super once you learn,'cause you don't know why they
fell out for
Christina (20:23):
Yeah.
Till the end of
Jordan (20:24):
Remind me, I haven't
read it for quite a while,
Christina.
And then once you find out, you're like, oh, this is more
awkward than I thought.
Christina (20:32):
So you have to kind
of find out if their 12 years of
friendship is enough to last thechaos of this trip, or if it's
gonna really like, be the finalstraw of their friendship.
So it's cute and fun.
It's a quick little, like summerread.
You could read it in a day.
It's a good one.
It's all, it's like warm littlebeach read I think.
So it's just a fun little bcelebr.
I will say though, there is,it's closed or romance, so Yeah.
(20:55):
Mostly it's not a lot.
Jordan (20:57):
I wouldn't say it's
closer.
I would say there's just not,they don't really, there's not a
lot of action.
'cause when they tried, therewas issues,
Christina (21:07):
Yeah.
Jordan (21:07):
not with them, but like
the air, like There's just not a
lot.
Christina (21:11):
out and the Airbnb,
it's a hundred degrees.
No
Devonnie (21:13):
Hot and sweaty.
Yeah, that's too much.
I must have go into cardiacarrest, please.
No thanks.
That's crazy.
Okay.
Christina (21:20):
Yeah.
But I thought it was cute.
Jordan (21:22):
I'm glad you thought it
was cute, Christina.
Christina (21:26):
Thanks.
I do not think, Jordan did
Jordan (21:29):
I
Devonnie (21:29):
I have a rough time
with M Hen but I tried reading
this one and actually donatedthis book where I gave it away
during one of our book events,
Jordan (21:37):
did I.
Devonnie (21:38):
because yeah, it's not
my favorite, but I will say
there I have an m hen rec onthis.
I'm gonna give y'all,'cause Ifound a book that I actually
liked by her.
No offense to Emily Henry, butthat's not my girl.
Okay.
Okay.
Jordan (21:51):
Thank you, Christina,
Christina (21:53):
you?
Devonnie (21:53):
Yeah.
Jordan (21:54):
positive tonight.
Well, I'm gonna bring it back toChelsea Curdo, because Chelsea
has another friends to Lovers.
This is in a different series, but you see the characters that
Dev just mentioned actually.
In the background and in thelarger friend group from the DC
Stars series, and this is bookthree in that series called
(22:16):
Slapshot.
It just came out this lastFebruary 2025.
This is professional hockeyplayer, Hudson Hayes.
He needs a chef he can trust tobe in his home.
He has had chefs like steal hisunderwear.
He has had chefs lie about beingchefs just so they could get
(22:36):
into his house.
Like just all this stuff, right?
Christina (22:40):
He cannot catch
Jordan (22:41):
had no, he's had it,
he's had it and he doesn't have,
he's a professional hockeyplayer.
He does not have time to be, youknow, cooking his own homemade
food that's gonna fit hisdietary needs so he can like,
get his calories in, he can gethis protein, he can get
whatever, you know, he needs.
He needs some help.
(23:02):
Now Michelin Star Chef MadelineGalloway enters the scene.
She needs a job after herrestaurant is bought out and
she's let go because they decideto go in a different direction
with the, they change the wholemenu and everything and they
have their own thing.
And she is living in Vegas.
She's a single mom with herdaughter Lucy.
(23:25):
Her daughter is deaf.
She was born deaf.
And so she's very aware.
She doesn't wanna make herdaughter move, if she doesn't
have to you know, moving any kidis a lot moving.
A kid who can't alwayscommunicate with the general
(23:46):
public is gonna be a wholenother thing.
So, but.
She finds at the bottom of herpurse after this ordeal, and
she's trying to figure out whatto do.
A number that she got fromsomeone over in DC that she met
this wonderful woman who wassigning with her daughter after
a hockey game because herdaughter is obsessed with
(24:09):
hockey.
And if she ever needs a job tolet her know, because I, they,
it was a connection from anotherbook.
So This is a little deal in thisbook, but, so she calls it up
and she's Hey, do you know ofanyone or do you know of
anywhere with a job opening fora chef?
And she's well, if you wanna doa personal chef, like Hudson's
(24:30):
the nicest guy I know.
And also you guys, Hudson is thenice guy on the team.
He is so sweet.
He's the one everyone can counton, he's always there and he's
so nice.
And he's not a playboy.
He doesn't get around.
You know what we do?
We do sometimes.
Well, nevermind, because in thisbook, nice guys do finish last,
(24:51):
but they finish last in thebedroom because they're
thoughtful like that.
Christina (24:55):
We love that.
Jordan (24:56):
She goes out, she meets
Hudson.
It's very professional.
She's I have my daughter, sothis needs to be a serious
thing.
He offers her more than she wasgetting paid.
I mean, he's taking care of it,right?
She tries to find affordablehousing in DC
Christina (25:11):
Good luck, sorry.
Jordan (25:13):
That she feels
comfortable bringing her
daughter into.
And so after all these differentthings, she can't find anything.
So like her and her daughtereventually move in.
But the biggest thing is becauseshe is a single mom especially,
and she's providing for herdaughter, and he is her boss.
She's this cannot we have tomake sure that we have
(25:34):
boundaries for our personallives, like this needs to be a
working relationship, but theyget to know each other.
And this happens over months,right?
They become friends.
Like they work.
Together on things.
He helps her out with Lucy.
Like they hang out all togetherand it's just so sweet.
He secretly learns ASL so he cancommunicate with Lucy, but he,
(25:59):
this is the thing, he doesn'ttell them he's learning until
he's feels like he cancommunicate back and forth at a
good enough level.
So he's like getting tutored bykids at the college.
He's doing all this stuff andany
Devonnie (26:14):
Oh, that's so sweet.
Jordan (26:15):
Yeah, it is.
And so, they really get to knoweach other and they are just
friends and they really are.
And of course, you know, yeah,he's this like professional
hockey player.
He's attractive, but she's Ihaven't had those kinds of
feelings for anyone since beforeLucy was born.
And that was like nine or 10years ago.
Devonnie (26:34):
Right.
Jordan (26:35):
and she's got some
trauma from her husband of many
years leaving her.
Their daughter was born becauseshe was born deaf.
So there's like things to workthrough.
Yeah.
People are just great.
So it, it was just really nice.
It was really sweet and theyreally did get to know each
(26:56):
other and they were friends fora long time before they kind of
found themselves in certainsituations where they're like,
well, we lived.
I just see your lives.
Were already interconnected andbest friends when the romance
hit, so, and when the romancehit,
Christina (27:18):
It really hit.
Jordan (27:19):
yeah.
He'll talk her through it.
He'll
Devonnie (27:21):
Ooh, we love that.
Jordan (27:23):
a while and,
Devonnie (27:24):
We love that.
Love that.
Jordan (27:26):
yep.
Devonnie (27:27):
Okay, I have my next
wreck.
It's actually by Tara dewitt,which I love.
Tara.
I'm a Tara.
Tara Sta I just love her andthis is funny feelings.
And in this we also have a deafdaughter, which is.
Interesting.
So carrying that Meyer Rigan hasa daughter named Hazel.
(27:47):
Hazel is death, and this storyfollows Meyer and Farley.
Farley Jones Farley is acomedian.
She's like loud and like chaos.
And Meyer is essentially an excomedian who is now he's he's an
ex like standup star and he'snow Farley's manager, if you
will.
(28:07):
They've been friends for likeover a decade, I think at this
point.
Or no, not over a decade.
It only a couple years actually.
Maybe half a decade.
But she's really good withHazel.
She knows a SL so she'sconstantly in communication with
Hazel and it's just giving Soanyway Meyer and Farley, so it
follows Meyer and FarleyFarley's, a standup comedian.
(28:29):
Meyer is an ex standup star witha daughter named Hazel, and
Hazel is death.
Farley comes into their life andMeyer, I guess, sees something
in her, right, like he, she'sgonna be the big shot.
He's gonna be her friend, butalso her manager.
It's like really platonic.
Their relationship is very muchlike platonic.
I do think it's a little bitlike one of those friends to
(28:51):
lovers where one of them has thedeeper feelings.
And Farley, she kind of knew shewas into Meyer for a little bit,
but she has him as a manager.
He's a really good friend toher, and so she didn't wanna
ruin anything.
Something happened.
She's basically presented anopportunity, but it comes with
needing lots of publicity, people talking about you.
(29:11):
When you're in entertainment, you kind of need good press, bad
press.
You just need press.
You need people to be looking atyou.
And so she gets into this fakerelationship with Meyer.
So it's a little bit of fakedating as well.
And yeah, they kind of justexplore like these fake moments.
And Meyer is like grumpy.
Okay.
(29:31):
I don't know if I wouldnecessarily call Farley
Sunshine, but Meyer is grumpy, like grunts annoyed with
everybody, hates people.
You know, he's very much, I lovemy daughter, I like Farley and
that's it.
But you see him open up andstart to realize how deep and
intense his feelings are forFarley and that she's been there
the whole time and that hisdaughter loves her.
(29:53):
And you see all of this yeah.
Build up.
And there are some like tensemoments where, you know, career
kind of gets in the way andstuff.
But it is so funny.
Farley is hilarious.
Like she is actually so funny, which means I think Tara is
funny for writing her and Ialready think Tara's hilarious.
Like Tara Det girl.
I love you down.
I love your writing so much.
(30:14):
But yeah, so this one you kindof see, like I said, Farley I
feel like has a, has feelingsfor Meyer before they get into
whole, the whole French tolovers things.
But it's really good.
It's also low key a workplaceromance because comedians, yeah
it's very trope filled.
Yeah, absolutely.
There's fake dating, Frenchlovers, workplace romance
grumpy, chaotic.
(30:35):
I don't know.
Farley is not sunshine, but sheMaybe, yeah, black cat, both
like a smiley face.
I don't know.
She's just something different.
I really enjoy this.
I think this is good for peoplewho maybe don't want just
straight French to lovers.
Wanna see that angst and thatpining.
And also one of the charactersreally like, Ooh, I wanna jump
his bones, but I can'tRespectable
Jordan (30:56):
In a respectful way.
Devonnie (30:58):
Yeah, in a response.
And it is slow burn.
It is very slow.
I will say it is a slow burn, soyou do get pining and yearning
and all that stuff.
So yeah, that's my wreck.
Funny Feelings by Tara Dewittand the cover is so cute,
honestly.
Christina (31:12):
Oh.
Jordan (31:12):
All of her covers are so
cute.
Devonnie (31:14):
Yeah.
Christina (31:16):
Okay, so I have
another one that kind of goes
with Jordan.
It's another hockey romance.
But this is a hockey romance.
Jordan (31:23):
Ooh,
Christina (31:24):
Yeah.
Something different.
So this story follows JamieCanning and Ryan Wesley, their
two hockey players who grew upas best friends since middle
school.
They both went to hockey summercamp together every summer in
Lake Placid, New York.
They always refer to it as theplace of the miracle on Ice
happened, you know, in the 1980Olympics, the US hockey team won
the gold.
So it's like a really specialplace for hockey players.
(31:46):
I guess it's like there.
Place to go hang out.
So they love the summer camp.
It's like the best of the best.
They're both there.
And they spend every summertogether.
They write letters back andforth during the school year,
and then they like send eachother funny packages throughout
the year.
Like they'll send someone a gaggift and he'll send the same box
back with another gag gift.
So they've just been living thisway since 12 to 18.
It's their final summer beforethey go off to college.
(32:09):
And Ryan, who, he goes by hislast name, usually Wesley pushes
his best friend Jamie to suckhis dick the night before they
leave.
Yeah.
It was like a shootout.
Jordan (32:19):
do you mean he pushes
Devonnie (32:20):
What do you mean
pushed back up?
You can't just drop that andgoing
Jordan (32:24):
Like
Christina (32:25):
They do a hockey
shootout and the winner gets
says oh, the winner, the loserhas to suck the winner's dick.
Right.
And so he purposely throws it.
So he gets Ja.
So he gets him to suck his dickbecause he doesn't think his
friend will.
Devonnie (32:40):
pinched.
Jordan (32:40):
is this only between the
two of them?
Do other people know about it?
It is just pray.
Okay.
I was like,
Christina (32:45):
I love that.
So any who then Wesley feels badfor pushing a straight friend
Jamie to suck his dick.
So,'cause
Jordan (32:53):
Yeah.
Devonnie (32:54):
Yeah.
Christina (32:55):
Well, he didn't think
he'd go through with it, so he
feels bad.
Devonnie (32:58):
Well, that's bad on
Jamie too, because Jamie
could've said, no, Jamie, pleasestand up.
What?
Anyway, continue.
Christina (33:06):
I mean, some people
are closeted.
Here we go.
Devonnie (33:09):
True.
That part.
Jordan (33:11):
Some people need the
dare.
Some people need the dare.
Oh.
No, I'm not gonna pick truth.
I'm not gonna pick truth.
Dare what?
Do you dare
Devonnie (33:19):
Yeah.
Jordan (33:20):
Oh, no,
Christina (33:22):
Oh, I have to suck a
dick.
Devonnie (33:23):
a little dick.
Oh,
Jordan (33:27):
for how long do I have
to do it?
Until you come.
Okay.
Darn it Maybe just hold.
Maybe just hold my hair.
Just pull my hair a little bit.
Christina (33:39):
Exactly.
Devonnie (33:42):
Anyway, so he forces
Jamie to suck his dick and.
Christina (33:45):
And then Wesley feels
bad about it, right?
So he goes off to college.
He like immediately cuts himselfoff from Jamie, right?
Jordan (33:51):
because he is
embarrassed.
Christina (33:52):
yeah, he feels so
bad.
Jordan (33:54):
That's a me move.
dumb.
Christina (33:59):
Suck and leave done.
Jordan (34:01):
No, not like that.
Not like that anymore.
Devonnie (34:09):
Asterisk.
Christina (34:12):
oh my
Jordan (34:13):
Ah, I missed this
Unhinging.
This is perfect.
What a way to end the season.
Christina (34:18):
go off to college and
they never talk in separate
colleges, like literallyopposite ends of the country,
right?
Anywho, now they're in thefrozen four, which is like the
final four for college hockeysports.
Lo and behold, their teams areplaying for the championship.
Wouldn't you know it?
Jordan (34:33):
Loser.
Has to suck the winner's Dick.
Got it.
Devonnie (34:39):
Not the bringing the
back, bringing the deer back.
Christina (34:42):
Anywho.
Wesley goes to Jamie's roomafter Jamie's team loses.
He wants to say, oh, you know, good game out there and stuff,
but who answers the door?
But Jamie's girlfriend andWesley, he is just, he goes out
drinking.
He's done with, he's so madbecause this has been who he is.
Pined after for years.
Poor guy.
He's heartbroken.
So, but he
Jordan (35:03):
about that blowjob for a
long time.
Sorry.
Christina (35:07):
Exactly.
He calls up his old coachingfriend and he is look, I know
that Jamie still like works atyour summer camp to mentor the
kids.
So sign me up.
I'll come work for you too.
'cause he's what a better way.
Jordan (35:20):
Why?
Devonnie (35:21):
Wesley, my God, Wesley
is so thirsty.
Christina (35:25):
He gets there and
guess what?
Their roommates history willcall them roommates.
Devonnie (35:32):
That history, we call
them roommates
Christina (35:33):
and wouldn't, you
know, maybe Jamie isn't as
straight as we're led to believewith
Jordan (35:38):
also, people can be bi,
Devonnie (35:40):
right?
Christina (35:41):
he finds that out.
He looks up both.
He looks up both porn, so hereally likes the gay porn.
And then he turns on the lesbianporn and he likes that too.
And he's huh, that'sinteresting.
My dick responds to both.
So
Devonnie (35:51):
I love a good
scientific research moment.
Christina (35:54):
yes, it was, it
really was.
Jordan (35:55):
Really difficult.
Work really hard.
Devonnie (35:57):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Christina (35:58):
really hard.
Really have to dig in deepthere.
I just wanna say that this is abook full of two 22-year-old
boys, so it's gonna be a littlejuvenile.
There's gonna be a little ballbusting, literally.
So just expect some.
Some of that, you know, thelittle, our back and forth
arguments where we're like 30year olds and we're like, shut
up and just kiss already.
Devonnie (36:18):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Right.
Christina (36:21):
you get there, they
have two little twin beds.
They try to push'em together.
They end up pulling theirmattresses on
Devonnie (36:25):
Oh.
Christina (36:26):
to snuggle.
It's so sweet.
Devonnie (36:28):
Oh,
Jordan (36:29):
that sounds really
uncomfortable.
Like my back hurts thinkingabout
Devonnie (36:32):
Oh my God.
Christina (36:33):
They're 20.
Okay.
Devonnie (36:34):
about that.
Ray.
They're young and limber.
Jordan (36:37):
I slept so many places.
I don't
Devonnie (36:39):
Yeah.
Like when you're 22, you cansleep on the hood of a car all
night.
You'll be fine.
Like
Jordan (36:44):
a sink in the, yeah.
Anyways, you know,
Devonnie (36:46):
Yeah.
22 is something different.
Us in our thirties, I'm notsleep.
I can't do it.
I need a king-sized bed pillowtop, like
Jordan (36:55):
No, I get to VRBO and
like I jump on that mattress and
I'm like, oh, gross.
Like this
Devonnie (37:03):
Very judgmental.
yeah.
Christina (37:06):
I have a$50 pillow I
take everywhere, so I get it.
Devonnie (37:09):
See, yeah.
Christina (37:12):
Anyways this book
does have a sequel called us and
then a novella follow up afterthat called Epic.
So it is part of a series.
I haven't gotten to read theother two yet, but I do love
these two characters.
They're super sweet and it'sjust kind of cool to see like
their relationship grow fromlike best friends who send each
other gag gifts to like gaggingon Cox.
You know, like that's how itgoes.
Jordan (37:32):
You've been waiting to
drop
Devonnie (37:34):
yeah, I know you
wanted to say that.
one.
Jordan (37:36):
that was
Devonnie (37:36):
Not gag gifts to
gagging.
Yeah, That was perfect.
Love that.
Thank you so much for that.
Christina (37:42):
So read him.
Jordan (37:44):
Okay.
I'm gonna take us in acompletely different direction.
Usually we're pretty smooth onaccident, like with these, but
like the last big rec I have issuper sweet novella called
Please Be Mine, by Kay Cinco.
This is an indie author I found,I read this book in February on,
(38:10):
what is it called?
Fable, sorry, I read this onFable in a book group, monthly
book group with Stacey Hicksfrom Romance Landia Bookshop,
who we interviewed last year, who she was our first interview
actually.
I know she carries a lot of Kskobooks.
But, so this is a novella aboutJake Talbot, who's coming out of
(38:34):
a dark six years of a deepdepression in addiction.
Okay.
Christina (38:39):
Aw.
Jordan (38:40):
out wild and wrangled.
Devonnie (38:42):
Yeah I forgot that it
was on my shelf and that I
haven't read it yet.
Sorry.
I was looking, I was justlooking at my shelf.
I'm sorry.
I pulled out Wilder wrangledguys.
I feel, I was thinking thatmight be friends to lovers.
I know.
I just, I got distracted bypretty books.
Christina (38:57):
squirrel.
Devonnie (38:58):
That's, yeah.
That I, yeah.
That moment was given squirrel.
Christina, I'm not gonna lie toyou.
I looked over,
Jordan (39:04):
shiny.
Devonnie (39:04):
pretty.
Yeah,
Jordan (39:06):
I was like, does she
have this book?
Does she have kko?
This is wild.
I don't remember seeing.
Oh, okay.
The wine is whining.
Christina (39:14):
please.
Trauma, we were talking abouttrauma
Jordan (39:16):
Thank you.
Yeah.
I'm like addiction de deepdepression and addiction.
Devonnie (39:20):
Oh
Jordan (39:21):
Look at, Okay, I'm gonna
start this over.
Devonnie (39:24):
Okay.
Please, I'm gonna mute myself.
Jordan (39:28):
Okay.
So Jake Talbot, who's coming outof a dark six years of deep
depression and addiction hismother passed away years ago.
So while cleaning out hismother's house to sell,'cause he
is getting ready to sell it hefinds a piece of paper wrapped
like in a pair of pants thatwere like thrown in the corner
(39:49):
of his old room.
And the last time he wore thesepants was to his mother's
funeral, right?
Like he was.
He was on he was not doing wellbecause depression and big
moments like that already inlife are kind of hazy anyways.
So he finds the name and addressof his high school best friend.
(40:10):
Okay.
They did marching band together.
They were really big into band.
Christina (40:14):
We love band
Jordan (40:15):
going, yeah.
They were besties.
And on a whim he writes to hisold high school best friend not
even knowing if the letter willstill reach her.
Right.
She might not even live at thisaddress.
Yeah.
He's I'm not gonna look her upany other way.
I'm just gonna set if thisletter gets to her.
Awesome.
And it finds her.
(40:36):
And she writes a letter back thewhole book is that the letters
they send to each other, andthen occasionally they'll talk
about things that happened inhigh school.
And it is just so cool.
They, through these letters, they tell each other the things
that they've missed over thelast six years.
(40:58):
They rebuild their friendshipand they really gain a deep
understanding of where the otherperson is in life, the things
they've been through.
She is now the band teacher andleader of a band for like their
old high school's like rivalschool and.
She teaches and does all thisstuff so that kind of comes into
(41:19):
play.
It's just, it's really, it justfeels really deep and meaningful
and it's super sweet.
Kind of heartbreaking at times, but just the way it's written is
really cool because it's allletter form and they sign it
differently.
Then they get bring up their oldhigh school nicknames and it's a
novella.
It's 73 pages.
(41:40):
So it's a short read.
But just really moving.
It's cool and I like when thishappens, it that people,
characters find each other afterthey've already decided to
change and have already mademoves to change you know, to
heal themselves.
It's not like they find eachother and use each other.
(42:01):
To heal and move forward as acrutch or anything like
unhealthy like that.
They've already taken the stepstoo and they've, yeah.
Christina (42:09):
That is so sweet.
That sounds amazing.
Jordan (42:12):
Yeah.
It's cute and they don't, theydecide not to look each other up
like online.
They just talk about it and it'sjust, it's cute.
Christina (42:20):
Oh,
Jordan (42:22):
Oh, I know.
Sorry.
No,
Christina (42:24):
Aw.
No.
Jordan (42:25):
truth or dare blowjobs
here.
Devonnie (42:27):
Yeah, I know.
That was actually very sweet.
Very sad.
Very demure
Jordan (42:31):
Very cutesy though.
That is pretty cute.
Devonnie (42:33):
Yeah, very cutesy.
Okay.
I've been to, I have two recsleft and I've been toying with
which one to go with next, but Ithink I'm gonna save the most
salacious one for last.
So my next rec is actually trulyEmily Henry.
So I wanna bring it back to mhen book that I actually really
enjoyed.
(42:53):
I've only read one other fully.
I dnf most of her books, I'm notgonna lie, but I read book
lovers.
I did like it.
I think the main character ofthat book was very strong and
flawed and I loved watching hergrowth and just also just
watching her exist.
Jordan (43:07):
I liked
Devonnie (43:08):
But this book, yeah,
book Lovers was I think, good.
Nothing else I can tolerate.
I'm so sorry.
Funny story,
Christina (43:14):
you feel.
Devonnie (43:17):
Funny story by Emily
Henry is so I, okay.
I li I'm pretty sure I was likereading this because you know, I
love to read and listen at thesame time.
I'm pretty sure I was readingthis on my Kindle and also
listening to it and I had somuch fun.
This is the most chaotic Fredlover when I tell you the tea is
(43:38):
hot in this book, let me set thescene.
We have Daphne and then we alsohave Miles.
Is his name Miles?
One second Miles.
Okay.
I didn't, okay, lemme tell youabout, I'm so sorry, but this is
so chaotic.
It's so messy.
Emily Miles and Daphne.
Are in separate relationships.
(43:58):
They're not even friends y'all.
They don't know each other.
Okay.
Right.
They, the, there are two maincharacters.
Right.
So eventually there are loveinterests, but at the be they do
not know each other.
Daphne is She's, she loves herfiance Peter.
And they have a story about howthey met.
Right.
I know.
I, first of all, I hated Peter.
I'm scarred by a Peter,
Jordan (44:19):
pumpkin
Devonnie (44:20):
Yeah.
But I hated Peter I can't do it.
So anyway, they're one of thosepeople who like, when they're at
the function, when they're atthe party, when they're talking
Peter Honey, tell them how wemet.
And then they go into this long, sickening story about how they
met.
They have one of those storiesand it's a story that they, it's
like a bit they do all the time.
Peter will tell the story andhe'll say, yeah, all these
(44:41):
things.
He's kind of, well off.
Daphne pretty much uproot herlife and moves to Waning Bay,
Michigan, where Peter's from andhis family is and everything to
live there and support herfiance.
And like, when you're gettingmarried, those decisions make
sense, right?
You uproot your life, you makethose decisions because it makes
sense.
You're getting married.
Married, so, but she doesn'tknow any, she's not from this
place.
(45:01):
So she moves there.
She has no friends.
She's a children's librarian.
Christina (45:06):
I love that
Devonnie (45:06):
with her.
work.
I do love that for her.
And one thing about m hen shegonna put a bookstore somewhere
in her novels, right?
Because like book lovers wasaround an agent of, anyway, you
know what I'm saying?
So anyway, Daphne is inMichigan.
She doesn't have a, she doesn'tknow anybody.
She's working as a children'slibrarian.
Her coworkers are like, she'svery secretive.
(45:27):
Like we don't really know her.
Is she in witness protection?
Like, why aren't we friends?
What Daphne's very isolated fromeverybody.
one day Peter is telling thestory of how they love each
other and he realizes, oh, I'mactually still in love with my
childhood best friend.
Christina (45:47):
No.
Devonnie (45:48):
Yes, girl.
He realizes he's actually inlove with his childhood best
friend.
And you know what, Petra, that'sthe childhood.
Petra was a little sneakywhenever she
Christina (45:58):
Petra and
Jordan (45:58):
Petra and Peter.
Devonnie (46:00):
Petra and Peter, sick.
You see why I don't like
Christina (46:02):
What is their ship
Devonnie (46:03):
you do
Christina (46:04):
Pet.
Devonnie (46:06):
The, it's actually
just Peter or just Petra.
It's sickening.
But she had to have make themunlikeable because they are
truly unlike It's peepee.
And they stink.
So it tracks anyway, theyrealize they're in love.
So they, Peter breaks up withDaphne goes to
Christina (46:26):
is off.
Devonnie (46:28):
Petra is in a
relationship.
She breaks up with Miles.
Okay.
You remember, you
Christina (46:33):
Oh no.
Devonnie (46:35):
lemme get there.
Christina
Jordan (46:36):
Did I
Christina (46:37):
This happened in real
life.
Devonnie (46:39):
Petra breaks up with
miles, right?
So now Daphne's like, where thefuck do I live?
I can't be here in the house.
I'm pretty sure Daphne had toleave their house.
I'm
Christina (46:52):
I'd be kicking him
out.
Jordan (46:53):
maybe, you know what,
maybe I read the beginning of
this
Devonnie (46:57):
Maybe.
Yeah, it, I really enjoyed it.
But the tea is too hot.
Get, so anyway, Daphne and Milesmove in together.
It's just a, like no one elsecould understand how effed our
lives are except you.
'cause you're also going throughit, right?
This woman who you wanted tomarry, who you wanted to be with
just up and left you for herchildhood best friend.
(47:18):
So they have that like in sync, like that camaraderie, but they
didn't know each other beforethis.
Now they're thrusted into beingroommates.
So each of them has somewhere tolive.
So each of the, but Miles isvery unserious.
Miles is a sommelier.
I'm gonna take that back.
Christina (47:33):
I love that for him.
Devonnie (47:35):
No.
Miles is a waiter.
at a winery.
Jordan (47:37):
So he wishes he were a
sommelier.
Christina (47:41):
still amazing.
Jordan (47:42):
Hey, I have nothing
against waiters.
I serve tables for 10 years.
I like but we know, which is whywe can say, we
Devonnie (47:50):
exactly.
Exactly.
Jordan (47:52):
you're not a sommelier.
Devonnie (47:53):
yeah.
So You waiter
Jordan (47:56):
all the bottles when we
open them.
Devonnie (47:58):
yeah, miles is the
complete opposite to Daphne.
Daphne's high, strong andordered and you know Miles is
free thinking.
Like he, yeah, he walks out theroom, he's high as a kite.
Daphne's can you not smoke?
What are you doing?
Can you not smoke in a house orsomething?
They have that kind ofrelationship, so you honestly
don't, they're not friends atthe beginning of this book.
They're adjusting to stillliving together.
They're going through themotions.
(48:18):
They're like in this situationbecause their exes suck and are
now happy and
Christina (48:23):
trauma to friends, to
lovers.
Devonnie (48:25):
Right?
Anyway, they decide.
Miles and Daphne, I thinkthey're both going to try to
make their exes jealous, right?
So they get together and it'sfake dating essentially.
And they like try to, You know,I know fake dating?
finds me.
And you know, I think that ifI'm gonna do friends to love
her, I think I I think I needthe fake dating in there.
(48:47):
I, for some reason, I don'tthink I could just do straight
friends to lovers.
So,'cause all my friends tolovers Rex, I think have a bit
of fake dating anyway.
They decide to get together.
It's like a bunch of aadventures.
There's photo op, there's likegetting people jealous.
There's exes actually gettingjealous, which is crazy.
It is so much
Christina (49:07):
chaotic.
Devonnie (49:07):
in this book.
It is chaotic and that's why Ithink that's why I like it.
'cause typically the reason whyEmily Henry doesn't always land
for me is because it just feelsvery tame.
It feels very low stakes.
It feels like they're while shedoes write serious situations
and lots of trauma, the peoplefall flat, the characters fall
flat.
For me, the story just kind offalls flat.
But this, I was like, I can'tbelieve this is happening.
(49:28):
Oh my gosh.
And Miles was so funny andDaphne was unintentionally
funny.
Like it, it was just, honestly,I
Christina (49:35):
there washing her
dishes, gasping.
Devonnie (49:39):
Because, you know, I'm
listening, I'm like death mild.
That is me.
The whole time I'm listening tothis.
I did give it four stars, so Ithink I really did enjoy it.
Enjoyed the
Christina (49:49):
Hi, honor.
Devonnie (49:50):
Yeah.
Hi.
Hi.
Yo y know that five starscoveted, so I do enjoy it.
I think you'll enjoy it.
It's really cute.
It's really funny.
It is so unhinged at moments andit's, I also think there's an
element of very se likeseriousness, you know, because
again, Daphne picks up herentire life and moves to be with
this man and is like not thebest situation.
(50:11):
You know, she becomes isolatedand she kind of has to like,
grow herself.
She has to develop.
So it's really fun to see.
And it's also nice to see herrelax and enjoy life the way
Miles does, you know?
So yeah, good job.
M hen you killed it there.
Opposites in the worst way and.
It,
Christina (50:30):
Come together.
Devonnie (50:30):
came together.
Yeah.
They Oh, they come together.
Jordan (50:34):
Yeah I do wanna say
we've kind of, while we've given
you to m Hen I, and, but we'vekind of hated on Emily Henry as
a writer.
I just wanna make sure we letpeople know we do not dislike
her.
Devonnie (50:49):
No.
Jordan (50:50):
We do not, I do not have
anything against her.
I don't even have anythingagainst her books.
It's just not for that's notwhat I want to spend my time
reading.
I think are so many people thatlove her books and good for
them.
Devonnie (51:04):
a cult
Jordan (51:04):
Yes.
Good for you guys.
I'm so glad you guys have that.
And it's you're having fun withthose books and that's what
you're looking for.
We just, we need a little bitmore drama, I
Devonnie (51:14):
We need a little bit
Jordan (51:16):
that's like the one
thing we all have in,
Christina (51:17):
full of drama.
Jordan (51:18):
The one thing we all
have in common.
I feel like we all need, like
Devonnie (51:22):
we need a little
Jordan (51:22):
we need, either we need
like death trials or we need
angst, or we need we needsomething like we don't want,
like we don't, I don't do cozythat
Devonnie (51:33):
Straight, cozy is
tough for me.
Straight
Christina (51:36):
We need to be second
Dicks.
Jordan (51:40):
Well, yeah.
Devonnie (51:42):
And that's what it is.
So anyway but see, okay.
Real quick little tangent.
But that is what I love aboutthe podcast and what I love
about readers is that like wewill read things that may not
necessarily be our cup of tea orread authors who, and okay, I
wanna say this.
If you have an author who youhave completely written off who
you're like, I'll never readanything.
(52:03):
They write, and if it's likeserious reasons, then obviously
do not read that author ifthey're triggering you,
whatever.
But I will say if there areauthors who you just feel like.
They don't write my style.
Try to go through their catalog, see, read some of the reviews
and see if you like somethingthat they've written.
Because when I read the blurbfor Funny story, that's what
(52:23):
pulled me in.
When I read Emily Henry's otherblurbs, I'm like, oh my God, I'm
gonna fall asleep.
I can't do it my love.
But this caught my attention.
So I would say if you're likestruggling with an author, just
dive into their catalog.
That is what reading is about.
You don't have to necessarilylike the author or the trope or
the genre, but find somethingthat might work for you.
Open up your mind enough to say,I'm gonna give this a shot.
(52:45):
And if you don't like it, youdon't like it.
You just read a book you didn'tlike And you could also DNF
Right?
You know?
Jordan (52:50):
DNF.
Looking at you,
Devonnie (52:52):
There's so many books,
right?
There's so many books to read.
Not Christina being silent thiswhole time.
Christina's yeah.
Okay.
Alright.
Christina (53:02):
Well, I was just here
to say maybe you don't like
Twilight, but you'd like thehost by Stephanie Meyer.
Jordan (53:06):
Okay.
The
Devonnie (53:07):
what I'm saying?
Yeah.
The host is so good.
The host is good.
Christina (53:11):
it's one of his
favorite books ever.
Actually,
Devonnie (53:13):
Yeah.
Jordan (53:14):
good.
Devonnie (53:14):
it is good.
But I'm not gonna lie, I, asmuch as I tease about Twilight
Baby, I was in line every timethat book came out.
Whenever a movie dropped.
Guess who was in the theater?
Me.
Okay.
Yeah
Christina (53:25):
I picked up Midnight
Sun at midnight.
I was
Devonnie (53:28):
Yeah.
So just
Christina (53:29):
I was in my thirties
and I was there.
Devonnie (53:31):
expand your horizons.
Take a risk, take a chance, andjust read.
There's so many books, and ifyou hate it,
Jordan (53:39):
It is in a book.
Devonnie (53:40):
Yeah.
Period.
Oh
Jordan (53:43):
Oh, my daughter's been
watching that.
No, my daughter's been watchingthat.
Reading Rainbow.
Devonnie (53:49):
that our
Jordan (53:50):
No, most of our
demographic is actually
Christina (53:52):
People better know
LaVar Burton.
I'm gonna fight them if theydon't know LaVar Burton,
Devonnie (53:57):
Period.
Christina (53:57):
gonna
Jordan (53:58):
And his daughter too is
amazing.
Mika is so cool.
Devonnie (54:02):
Yes.
Oh, okay.
So that's our tangent.
Jordan (54:05):
Christina, do you have
any more?
Did you do.
okay?
You have one more?
Ooh,
Christina (54:09):
I do.
This is a long time coming byMeghan Quinn.
It's number three in a series.
Jordan (54:16):
I don't know if I've
read that.
Devonnie (54:19):
I'm sorry.
round of applause for this.
The Kane brothers eat down.
Continue.
Jordan (54:25):
They eat down.
Christina (54:26):
This is number three
in the.
Jordan (54:30):
Damn.
I need some of what Deb ishaving because
Devonnie (54:34):
it's this wire from
Costco.
It was 1199.
And when I tell you it got meturned up, I will have to share
'cause like I've never had wine.
Wine so hard.
Jordan (54:45):
you need food.
Christina (54:46):
Thanks, Costco.
Jordan (54:47):
Christina.
I'll mute Deb now and
Christina (54:50):
Costco White, if
you'd like to sponsor us.
Message diff
Jordan (54:54):
Oh my God.
Can you imagine Kirkland?
Dogs?
Hot dogs, and Kirkland Wine.
Christina (55:00):
Wieners and Wine.
Okay.
Anyhow, this is book numberthree in the Cain Brothers
series, but you can read it as astandalone because it's its own
individual story.
It just has tiebacks to othercharacters.
This book is kind of like a takeon my Best Friend's wedding,
right?
It follows two best friends,Ophelia, she goes by Leah and.
(55:21):
Breaker.
They meet as juniors in collegein a secret scrabble society.
And this is top secret, like yougotta know special codes to get
in.
It's crazy, right, Kate?
They bond not over, not onlyover their love of Scrabble, but
also all things nerdy.
I absolutely just was lovingthis, right?
They're like Ray Low fans, Lordof the Ring fans.
It was getting me as a nerdgirl, but they really bond over
(55:43):
Leah's fanfic.
She wrote, it's a supernaturalfanfic called Lovers Not
Brothers.
It ships Dean and Sam, and yes,
Jordan (55:51):
Oh, what?
I have to read this now because.
I am a huge supernatural fan.
I went to Supernatural Con yearsago up in Vancouver.
I like, I have cosplay, genderbent, Dean.
Okay.
I'm listening.
Christina (56:06):
Okay, so she's just
in love with this.
Lovers, not brothers.
She wrote it.
He's like fangirling over her.
He's you wrote this.
Oh my God, you're amazing.
And so he's continue writing, because she had stopped writing.
And she's okay, I will you be myfriend?
'cause she's a new transferstudent as a junior to this
college.
And she's I don't have anyfriends.
And he's yes, I'll be yourfriend.
And that's the beginning oftheir friendship.
(56:28):
And fast forward next chapter,it's a decade later, and Leah's
guess what?
I'm getting married and theyhave been best friends.
This whole, their whole, youknow, 10 years.
They even have an apartment nextto each other.
They share like a wall.
They like knock secret codes onthe wall at night to each other.
(56:48):
They have a pizza and like boardgames night every single week or
dinner like he brings orwhatever kinds of dinner.
He's a billionaire by the way,but he's so down to earth.
He's staying in this littleapartment.
He could afford a Malibu homeand he's staying in like
downtown LA'cause that's whereshe wants to be.
Like, he's like he'll, he's wellpuppy.
He falls her wherever she goes.
She going to the beach.
He's going the beach.
(57:08):
He's we are going to the beach.
Like he's wherever she is,however, he does not like her
new fiance.
The new fiance is Brian.
Brian is like trying to become abillionaire, but not in a good
way.
He's like into insider tradingand like bad deals and all this.
And he's it's not good.
(57:29):
But Leah does not like being inthe middle of.
Breaker and Brian's little tthey're having, right?
So she's like, just let's befriends.
And they're like glaring at eachother from across the table,
like not having it.
Okay.
So she has to tell him, I'm nowengaged to this guy you hate.
And he's damn, that sucks, buthappy for you.
Right?
(57:49):
And so Leah goes out to dinnerwith Brian and to see Brian's
mom and Brian's mom's guesswhat?
I already booked you a venue infive weeks for your wedding.
You don't have a choice in whereyou're getting married.
Too bad.
Devonnie (58:02):
Hate it.
Christina (58:04):
Exactly.
Her name is Mrs.
Beaver by the way.
And they call her the be
Devonnie (58:10):
Yeah.
They call her the beef, and
Jordan (58:12):
Wait, who is.
Okay
Christina (58:14):
Brian's mom, her new
future mother-in-law.
Jordan (58:16):
dude.
Christina (58:17):
She has Monster in
law written all over her.
She's you're gonna wear my veil.
You're gonna get married at thischurch.
Oh, you're not Catholic.
Too fucking bad.
Oh, well you're getting marriedhere, you're gonna have this,
you don't get to carry.
She's I wanna carry daisies atmy wedding.
'cause her parents died andshe's it was my mom's favorite
flower.
And she's I don't care if a shitwhat your mom liked, you're
carrying red roses.
It's like awful.
She's just this horrible person.
(58:38):
So Leah's like dying inside andshe's I don't know how to stand
up to this woman.
And then she's Breer, will youplease come be my man of honor
and will you come help me do thewedding planning?
So like I can have a little bitof myself in this wedding.
And he's absolutely, girl.
Like I'm there.
Let me back you up.
Right.
Okay, so he's helping her pickout flowers.
(58:58):
He's helping her at the church.
He's going around with her.
Then they go to pick out thedress, right.
Leah puts on her dream weddingdress and Breaker sees her and
cue the part of the movie wherethere's all these flashbacks,
but you see it in a new light.
He's looked back on the 12 yearsof his life and he's what the
fuck was I doing?
This was the woman for me.
(59:19):
He is like, all along, it's beenher.
No wonder I haven't been able toever have a girlfriend, right?
Because it's always been her inmy mind.
Right?
He has a new plan.
Instead of helping her like planthe wedding, he's gonna break up
her wedding.
That's his plan.
And not tell her.
She doesn't get to know.
Apparently he's got this secretplan going
Jordan (59:37):
It sounds like this
female main character doesn't
get to make any decisions inthis book.
Christina (59:43):
for a while.
No, you are right.
right.
She doesn't because breakershaving this old thing too.
And then breakers guess what?
You're gonna do this and you'regonna do this.
So you're right, she doesn'thave a lot of choices.
Finally, Leah stands up forherself a little bit, puts her
foot down.
You know, it's a great scene.
(01:00:04):
Breaker is the fastest reboundthat's ever rebounded on this
whole planet.
You blink and you miss it.
It's like the next page.
It's crazy.
But it is very spicy.
Like it's hot.
Damn.
Is it hot?
That's all I gotta say.
Like this man.
Jordan (01:00:22):
When Megan Quinn is on,
she is on.
Devonnie (01:00:27):
The Cain Brother
series.
I read this entire series andwhen I was foaming at the Mouth
for Breakers book, because youget hints about it, like in the
first two books, they're alwaysmentioning his best friend, and
then you finally see the bestfriend and you're like, oh my
God.
And yeah it's really good.
They are very compatible is allI'll say.
And also like you're right OPH,she doesn't get to make a lot of
(01:00:50):
decisions and I hate that the bepisses me off.
The fact that I know her as thebeav and that everyone calls her
the be also pisses me offbecause why is that your name?
Why are you a tyrant?
Why have you planned this girl'sentire wedding with no input
from her?
And Why?
is your son a little bitch whowill not?
That's the worst
Christina (01:01:07):
That's the part.
Would not stand up for her.
Just rolls over.
He is well, my mother wants whatI want and
Devonnie (01:01:12):
yes.
Christina (01:01:14):
I wanted to eat this
man off a cliff.
Jordan (01:01:16):
P-S-A-P-S-A for all of
our female listeners.
All of our women, all thegirlies, non-binary.
Anyone else?
If you have, if you are singleor you are dating and you are
thinking about getting marriedor when you do, your in-laws are
important, like to kind of likefigure out what that dynamic is
(01:01:39):
gonna be about.
But the most important thing iswhere does your husband stand?
If there are issues or if therewill be, that is the most
important thing.
Does your husband have your backfirst and foremost,
Devonnie (01:01:52):
Right.
Christina (01:01:52):
Snaps
Jordan (01:01:53):
because they absolutely
should.
Sorry,
Devonnie (01:01:56):
And if he doesn't run.
Jordan (01:01:58):
Yeah,
Devonnie (01:01:59):
I am sorry.
That leads me quick tangent,Quin Tangent.
I'm watching Extracted on Hulu.
I don't know who, what serviceprovider does this right?
But I'm watching Extracted onHulu and they're extracted.
The premise of the show is thatyou have loved ones that are out
in the wilderness and people areback home and HQ and they can
send their loved ones survivalthings to help them win
Christina (01:02:19):
Not the Hunger Games
Devonnie (01:02:21):
Yes, girl.
It is the hungry games in reallife.
And yes, you can send sponsoredgifts.
I, that's crazy.
I didn't realize it was theHungry Game.
It's the Hungry Games and it'sin British Columbia.
'cause you know, it's beautiful, but they're trapped in the
wilderness.
There is one couple this, oh mygod, this sweet woman, I think
her name is Ashley.
She's engaged to someone and herteam is her fiance and his dad.
Right.
(01:02:43):
This man, Ashley, struggling tomake a fire.
She can't make a fire.
He gets multiple opportunitiesto send her like cheat code gas
stuff, lighters to help her makea fire.
He one the first time she can'tmake it.
He said, I'm not marrying her ifshe can't make a fire.
He says that out loud in public, number one.
Number two, he refuses to sendher the easy way out.
(01:03:05):
So watches her struggle, becold, can't boil water, instead
of sending her a lighter runfrom the people who would rather
teach you a lesson than see yousurvive.
That is terrifying and I justhope that when she finishes the
show, I don't know if she's beenlike extracted yet, but I hope
(01:03:27):
when she finishes, she watchesit and see that her fiance did
not have her back.
And would instead love to watchher struggle and teach her a
lesson and make sure she knowshow to start a fire.
Then send her fucking lighter soshe can light some shit and boil
water.
Christina (01:03:41):
It reminds me of my
favorite quote.
It says, it's not your job toset yourself on fire to keep
Devonnie (01:03:47):
To keep ever warm.
Exactly.
Jordan (01:03:50):
in season three, we will
be giving you dating advice and
we will have callers call in
Devonnie (01:03:57):
Yeah.
Jordan (01:03:57):
and we will be giving
you relationship advice.
So that's season three.
Devonnie (01:04:04):
Sorry, I have to go
for that tangent'cause that
pissed me off.
Okay.
Jordan (01:04:07):
between me and you, we
got it.
So sorry Christina, I feel likewe always do this to your books
because you have such greatthings to say about your books.
Like I love the way yousuccinctly wrap.
I love the way you describe thebooks you read for one.
I've always loved it.
You're so good at it.
And, but it always like inspireslike Yeah.
Let's talk about, so I'm sosorry.
I'll mute.
Christina (01:04:25):
It's fine.
I was really comforted in All Iwanted say is, it was a really
funny book.
Like seriously laugh out Loud.
I'm like dying laughing, readingthis.
Like she's where I can't evenexplain it, but there's like a
scene in the Catholic churchthat just, I was dying with the
veil.
I was dying.
Kay.
I won't say any more than that, but it's so funny.
And then it's so spicy.
He takes charge.
(01:04:45):
This is where the billionaireshines.
He's girl, you gonna listen?
Devonnie (01:04:48):
Yeah.
And we love to hear it.
Christina (01:04:51):
She's been into
vanilla sex.
She's I've never experiencedthese things.
She's well, guess what?
I'm gonna try it too.
Devonnie (01:04:56):
Yeah.
Poor thing has been so deprived.
She had no idea that what thepossibilities of sexual
relations could be, so
Christina (01:05:04):
And he showed those
possibilities.
Devonnie (01:05:06):
Yeah.
I love
Christina (01:05:07):
Yes, he did.
So enjoy reading.
A long time Coming by MeganQuinn.
Jordan (01:05:12):
Perfect.
I do have honorable mentions'cause like I said, I had a lot,
so aside from the Harley Quinnseries by.
Caroline Peckham and SuzanneValenti.
I have something cheeky by TinKin Lamb, and I don't remember
if I ever talked about that one.
I feel like I did.
That was really good.
Look it up.
It's also has Asian-Americanrepresentation really great,
(01:05:36):
like different cultures arereally well represented.
Her Greatest Mistake by HannahCowen another hockey romance.
I talked about it on fakedating.
I believe I mentioned it at theend too, as an honorable mention
before we came by.
Sloan St.
James has a bit of, it's a bitof a mystery.
(01:05:58):
They were friends growing up andshe went, yeah, she went missing
Devonnie (01:06:06):
yeah, I have that on
my Kindle.
Jordan (01:06:08):
Yeah, as.
A child and they were bestfriends.
So the mailman character is bestfriends with her older brother.
He's like a part of their familypretty much.
She didn't know she thought shewas adopted by the woman she
believed to be her mother.
And it's just kind of unravelsand them meeting again and
(01:06:31):
stuff.
So Switchboard by Duet, byHeather Long, I've talked about
this in another episode too, butI just wanted, I consider this a
friends to lovers because she, their operator, their handler
and she is their eyes and earsfor these three different guys
for different missions that theydo thieving and mercenary work
and stuff.
(01:06:51):
So they are good friends foryears and then she goes missing
and they have to work togetherto find her.
And then finally.
Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas.
Their pen pals.
What is it?
With me and pen pals tonight?
They're pen pals since likefourth or fifth grade for a
school project.
They keep writing to each other, but then by happenstance, he
(01:07:16):
transfers schools, ends up inher school and she doesn't know
that's him.
And he goes by a different nameso she doesn't find out.
And to him, she's a completelydifferent person than the way
she portrayed herself.
So he feels really lied to.
Yeah, I talked about it a longtime ago.
I think he feels lied to.
So it ends up kind of being abully romance because it's
(01:07:38):
Penelope Douglas and it is highschool, but it's so good.
There's a couple scenes inthere.
I just pretend they're incollege and it's so good.
Devonnie (01:07:50):
To
Christina (01:07:50):
Use your imagination,
huh?
Jordan (01:07:53):
Yep.
And that is friends to loversfor me.
Devonnie (01:07:58):
Oh, I have some
honorable wrecks.
The other book I was gonnamention, which is Give Me More
by Sara Cate.
It's from the Salacious PlayersClub.
I think it's either book threeor four, sort of my favorite
books.
And the reason I put this as afriend's to lover's options
there's a married couple.
So it starts off with two bestfriends.
The two guys are best friends, then they see a girl and both of
them are, you find out later, both of them are interested in
(01:08:20):
her at the same time, but onemakes a move and then they get
married.
They eventually get married, andthen it's the, like the married
couple and the best friendDrake.
And basically they go throughlife together.
They're always together like thebest tease are together.
Eventually it gets into a space.
I honestly don't even know howwe get here, but Drake realizes
(01:08:44):
he's in love with his bestfriend and he maybe always has
been.
But the other best friend, Ithink his name is Hunter hunter.
He is kind of up in the airabout his sexuality.
He was raised very likereligious and no, that's gay
kind of vibes.
So he has like trauma behindthat, but I can't remember why
(01:09:05):
one day he asks his best friendto sleep with his wife.
I don't, I think it's like akink thing.
Salacious Players Club is,follows like a sex club.
So there's definitely lots ofkink exploration and people, you
know, doing things.
But he asked him Drake to sleepwith his wife and Drake does.
And then it comes up that he'salso in love with his best
(01:09:26):
friend's wife.
So it's, I think his friends tolover number one, it is friends
to lovers because the two menare friends and then eventually
becomes lover lovers becauseit's MFM.
But their relationship ishonestly so beautiful and all
three of them are reallyfriends.
So it's just very heartwarming.
But the Spice, the SalaciousPlayers Club, I wanna say it has
(01:09:48):
six books.
Maybe six books.
And this is book three.
This is my favorite book of theentire series.
I love this book down.
I love it.
So watching Hunter explore hissexuality and come to terms with
it was very beautiful and likeeye-opening.
So I love that for him.
And that's again, give Me Moreby Sara Cate.
I also wanted to mention Next toYou by Hannah Bonum Young.
(01:10:10):
Yeah, I know I can't go like anepisode without mentioning
Hannah Bonum Young.
I'm obsessed with her.
I love her.
Next to You, follows Mattias andI can't remember the female main
character's name right now, but.
They're actually, they're alsobrought a friendship where
they're brought together bytheir friends falling in love
essentially.
And you get to see them realizethat, damn, we love each other.
(01:10:34):
We're like really good friendsand we're so supportive and I
love your family.
Let's explore this really good.
I have a super indie author, adorable Hucklebee, Ordaz Rules
of Association is a book two inher series, seaside Mergers, and
it follows two best friends whotheir siblings have gotten
married and they kind of justrelated to each other and then
(01:10:57):
they realize, oh my God, are wein love?
I think we might be.
And so they explore that yeah, funny how that works, right?
So yeah, those are like my extrahonorable mentions.
But again, they're great friendsto lovers and I think all of the
recs I've mentioned today, theycan be like basic friends to
lovers, but I think some of themhave a little more if you want
super spicy spice, go straightto give me more.
If you want extreme slow burnrules of association and caught
(01:11:22):
on camera and next to youactually by how to bottom young.
So I think I got a little bit ofeverything in there for like
people who might be hesitant forthe genre, pick it up
Christina (01:11:34):
Yeah,
Jordan (01:11:35):
I was gonna
Christina (01:11:36):
many tropes.
Jordan (01:11:36):
yeah, I was gonna say
that was it over me?
What is it by Sara Cate?
What was that one?
Devonnie (01:11:43):
Give me more.
Jordan (01:11:44):
Give me more.
Give me more.
Sounds like a, the same premiseas gifting me to his best friend
a novella by Katee.
Robert.
So good.
And it's kind of the samepremise where.
are on a retreat like thismarried couple and their best
friend who's always around.
(01:12:05):
It's you know that old thepopular thing was you and me and
Devonnie (01:12:09):
me
Jordan (01:12:09):
and my friend Steve.
Devonnie (01:12:11):
Steve.
Yeah, Yeah.
Jordan (01:12:12):
it's very much, yeah.
The three of them are very muchlike that and the guys have been
friends since like college daysand these are like grown ass
adult, like older.
And so part of the things thatthis married couple likes to do
is you know, talk about herbeing with is like ups.
I don't know if they actuallyhave before, but it's like one
(01:12:33):
of the things they've kind ofbeen working up to and talked
about a lot.
And then they're snowed in overat Christmas with the best
friend and.
So then they set it up for herto be with him and him to walk
in on the it's just, it's likethat experimentation and then it
ends up just like she, it's morelike the woman is, sees it and
it's you two need to figure thisout.
You two need, I'm gonna leave.
(01:12:54):
I'm gonna lock you in this room, and you two just need to bang it
out or something.
I'll join you later, but rightnow you two just
Devonnie (01:13:01):
Literally the same is
giving me more, and I love that.
So, yeah.
Cool.
Oh my gosh.
Is that it?
Is that our friends lovers?
Is that the end of season two?
Jordan (01:13:12):
this is the end of
season two, so thanks
Devonnie (01:13:15):
bitter.
Jordan (01:13:16):
Yeah, thanks everybody
for.
