A week of Southern California hockey delivered everything: a Ducks road rollercoaster that turned into a statement OT win, a home-opener surge powered by net-front grit, and a Kings team battling penalties, pairing problems, and a second-period slump. We dig into why Anaheim’s offense looks sustainable—Kreider’s screens and tips, McTavish’s engine, Leo Carlson’s calm playmaking—and how the new alternates split is building a leadership core that matches their identity. When a power play adds a crease specialist and a young distributor, you don’t just score prettier goals, you bank harder ones.

On the LA side, the pieces are there: Byfield’s point pace, Fiala’s creativity, and a faceoff edge even against Crosby. The fixes are clear too. Reduce penalties that hand momentum away, re-balance the blue line so Brandt Clarke can drive transition minutes, and let a sturdier partner calm Cody Ceci’s swings. We talk Doughty–Anderson matchups, blocked-shot gaps, and the small decisions that turn one-goal losses into points.

Around the league, we hit the biggest ripples: Lane Hutson’s team-friendly extension and what it signals in Montreal, the Rangers’ early home scoring drought, a thicket of injuries reshaping contenders, and the familiar frustration of uneven officiating on dangerous stick work. It all ties back to one question: which teams have a plan that survives rough nights?

Come for the game recaps; stay for the line chemistry, special teams tweaks, and honest fixes both clubs can make right now. If you’re riding the Ducks’ momentum or begging for a Kings reset, you’ll leave with clarity, numbers, and a few spicy takes. Like what you hear? SPEAKER_00 (00:34):
Elite Sports and Entertainment Network presents
episode eighty four of RoyallyQuack.
How's it going, Wild Wing?
Quack.

SPEAKER_01 (00:49):
Let's go, ducks.
Fly together.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (00:56):
Now, okay.
That was not inspirational, bythe way.

SPEAKER_01 (01:03):
Quack.
All right.
Not gonna lie wearing this.
Now I can see why stormtroopersin Star Wars had the worst aim
possible.
Because I could barely see thisthing.

SPEAKER_00 (01:24):
So our good buddy Kevin has pizza bagels in the
air fryer and royally quacked onthe screen.
What a way to start the weekend.
Love it.
Hell yeah.
I love that.

SPEAKER_01 (01:38):
Awesome, Kevin.
It's pizza bagels in themorning.
I like that idea.
I'm a I'm a more of a theTostina pizza rolls kind of guy.

SPEAKER_00 (01:48):
Uh I I I had a little breakfast bar.
That's all I've had to eat sofar.

SPEAKER_01 (01:56):
Um, but I mean, what what a week for another great
week of hockey.
At least I got more than justone game to talk about this
week.

SPEAKER_00 (02:06):
Yeah, I wish I had less to talk about this week.
Yeah, it hasn't been an uh anoverwhelming awesome start of
the season for uh for Kingsfans.

SPEAKER_01 (02:21):
It's I would say it's not hasn't been bad, but
there is good things I've beenseeing for the ducks.
I've noticed already a hugedifference between last season
and this season, and and betterlike being better wise, like for
the positive.
So um, do you want to get intothe news real quick?

(02:46):
Yeah, let's do it.
All right, so I guess I'llstart.
All right, so Beckett Senecabecame the seventh youngest
player in NHL history to scorehis first goal in his NHL debut.
So it just tells you how well uhSeneca has been playing.

(03:06):
He's uh I believe what fourpoints in three games or three
points in four games.
No, sorry, three points in fourgames, I believe.
I'll have to double check, buthe's been playing well.
Got in that that Seneca McTavishand uh Cutter Gautier line has

(03:27):
just been definitely one of thebest lines for the Anaheim
Ducks, but we'll get back tothat later.
Um, and so last November Iremember us doing a report on
this podcast saying that the NewYork Rangers were sent an email
out to all the teams in theleague saying that Chris Kreider

(03:50):
and Jacob Truba were available.
I mean, obviously, we know wegot Truba already that year, but
let's take a little flashback toepisode 40 of Royally Quacked.
He's good at blocking the view.
He's he's probably one of thebest tip.
Oh let me um let me go back.
No, that's that's true.

(04:10):
Um, so for the first one, according to the bleacher
report, the ducks are apotential option for Chris
Kreider from the New YorkRangers.
Because they're looking, I guessthey're looking to shake things
up, and I guess him and Trubaare like the top two.

SPEAKER_00 (04:30):
Kreider's uh he's a goal scorer.
They could use him.
I mean, we couldn't use him.

SPEAKER_01 (04:37):
He that's see, Kreider is someone who I would
be very interested in gettingfor the ducks, just because as
we believe from a coupleepisodes ago, the mother-son
rant that me and my mom had onhere about like you know,
blocking the view of a goalie,Krider is someone that's really
good at that, and not only goodhe's good at blocking the view,

(04:58):
he's he's probably one of thebest tip um like tipping uh
players in the NHL.
Like he just knows how to directredirect pucks into the net.
I would say he's one of the topones.

SPEAKER_00 (05:10):
He's a he's a goal scorer, is what he is.

SPEAKER_01 (05:13):
Who would he's been a 40 goal scorer for many years?
So like I said, I'm shocked thatthey are even he's even
speculated to be on the tradeblock for one.
But like I said, if the duckscan get him, that would help a
lot.
I I can imagine him on a linewith you know zegris or or Leo

(05:35):
or even Terry.

SPEAKER_00 (05:37):
So I mean out of you know, I'm looking at the notes
after I mean that one, if ithappened, what are you willing
to give up to get him?

SPEAKER_01 (05:51):
See, I don't know what New York wants back.

SPEAKER_00 (05:55):
They're gonna want something serious.

SPEAKER_01 (05:59):
And it wasn't anything serious, it was just a
second-round pick in KerryTerrence, and it was a second
round pick swap.
So I would say good trade sofar.
I mean, everyone, I'm I'm not Idon't want to spoil anything too
much, but for the our gamerecaps later, but yeah.

(06:23):
There you go.
I I called it almost a year ago.
So, and then uh next bit of newsthe ducks attendance for their
mask giveaway for the homeopener is the most in franchise
history at the pond at 17,622people.

(06:48):
That's 102.6 percent of thecapacity at the at the pond.
The previous record was set inMarch of 2013 versus Chicago,
and that was 17,610.
So we had 12 more fans there, but and I can tell you this this

(07:08):
giveaway, everyone's ravingabout it online.
I've seen it from multiplehockey podcasts, multiple um,
like so like not just ducksones, like people that cover the
whole league, and they'reeveryone's raving.
Like, what a great giveaway, probably one of the best
giveaways ever in NHL history, and everything like that.

(07:32):
And that's not even talkingabout the game.
So, but like I said, great, whata great giveaway, even though
you can't really see what you'redoing when you're wearing it,
but then again, that's just me.
But I was excited to get that.
Let's see.
Uh, that giveaway, and this weekfor the kings has me ready to

(07:56):
jump ship to be a ducks fan.
Kevin, I boy, can come to theducks side instead of yeah, come
to the ducks side, Luke.

SPEAKER_00 (08:05):
Search your feelings, Luke.
I mean, Kevin.
Sorry, Kevin.

SPEAKER_01 (08:11):
Kevin, Kevin.
Um, um, but not not, and here'swhat I know a little bit of a
spoiler, but the Anaheim Duckshave won their 10th consecutive
season home opener.
That's the second longest in NHLhistory behind the Montreal
Canadians.
I believe it was like in theearly in the 50s that happened.

(08:35):
They won 11 straight.
But right now, the Anaheim Duckshave the current like active
season home opener win streak.
And then uh last bit of news forthe ducks is we have new
alternate captains on awaygames.
The uh the players that arewearing the A's is gonna be Leo

(08:57):
Carlson and Alex Kalorn, and onthe home games, and I noticed
this pretty much immediatelyduring the the player
introductions at the homeopener.
Was Mason McTavish and JacksonLacomb are wearing the A's, so
not Terry, not Ryan Strome, andyou know Ryan Strome's been

(09:18):
injured, uh, and everything.
He still hasn't played yet.
But I like that they're goingwith the youth movement for the
leadership.
That that's telling me a lotalready, especially with Leo,
McTavish, and Lacomb.
I could see those being thethree captains in the next
couple years.
Like, I my guess would beMcTavish is wearing the C, and

(09:40):
Leo and Lacombe are wearing theA's in the in the within the
next few years.
And then uh Quimville alreadysaid that that's that's probably
who they're gonna keep as thecaptains, and then they're gonna
switch.
So then McTavish and Lacomb willbe the away captains, and then
Carlson and Clorand will be thehome cap uh alternate captains.
So then that's that's it forthis week's of Ducks news.

SPEAKER_00 (10:04):
Yeah, yeah, not a whole lot of news, right?
Um I got King's news.
The but this isn't good news tome.
Kings and pending RFA, BrandtClark have yet to enter contract
talks per David Pagnota.
Well, we also have uh Kempe, which I mean, if if you listen

(10:30):
to Lockdown uh King's host EddieGarcia, he had speculation
because the GM for the Tampa BayLightning uh was at the home
opener, and then the next nightwas in Vegas, and he was
thinking, oh, maybe I mean I Ithink it was speculation on

(10:52):
Eddie.
I don't think I've heardanything else on the news about
it.
That oh maybe it's a you know, maybe a sign and trade, and you
know, they're gonna trade Kempeto Tampa Bay, who's who
obviously could use a playerlike that.
I mean, but you still, if you'regonna do that, you have to give
up something big.
But what it really came down tois the next episode, I believe

(11:17):
it was that unlocked on kings.
He he made the comment that he'salso the GM for Team Canada and
probably was scouting, possiblylike Dowdy and Byfield, who were
on the short list of possiblesto be on the team, and who
knows?
Maybe he was watching somebodyfrom the Avalanche or Vegas,

(11:39):
too.

SPEAKER_01 (11:40):
You just don't know.
You you can tell Kevin listensto our show.
Uh Tampa Based Jam was there tonegotiate a bag of pucks for
Phoenix Copley.

SPEAKER_00 (11:50):
Wow, Kevin, you took away my thunder.
I was that's the next part of mynews, but we'll let you say that
instead.

SPEAKER_01 (12:01):
Um, real quick, while we're speaking of locked
on kings and eddie, um, just uhwant to wish Eddie a late happy
birthday.
I I did text him on Thursday, itwas his birthday on Thursday, so
happy birthday, Eddie Garcia.

SPEAKER_00 (12:15):
Happy birthday, Eddie.
Have not listened to Locked onKings, it's a a definite must.

SPEAKER_01 (12:24):
Yes, and like I said, if you don't like
listening to our voices, I don'tblame you, but definitely go
listen to Eddie.
He has such a great voice forthat.
Yeah, well, he has great heknow, and he knows his hockey.
He knows his he does know hishockey, absolutely.
I I even as a ducks fan, Ilisten to Lock on Kings.

(12:45):
I haven't listened to it in awhile just because I'm still
catching up on my on the onesI'm listening to and everything.
Like, I listened to like youknow, the sheet, 32 Thoughts,
you know, all that other stuff, like kind of staying in tune for
with everything else.
Um, but I'll let you continuewith your King's news.
Yeah, yeah.

(13:06):
I just wanted to wish Eddie ahappy birthday at least.
I guess uh payback, right?
Hey, I I was wishing Eddie ahappy birthday.
Uh is that's part of King'snews, I would believe.

SPEAKER_00 (13:18):
Hey, hey, hey, kept Kevin.
Maybe uh coach taking up takingover the the royalty of instead
of being quack, so maybe youcould be the qu the quack to his
royal.

SPEAKER_01 (13:32):
At least it was royal news, not quack news.

SPEAKER_00 (13:35):
Okay.
Also in the news, and this isnot good news, is uh Los Angeles
Kings captain on Zay Kopotar isweek to week with a foot injury.
Believe it was sustained inMinnesota.
Um he was a game time decisionthe other night, but now it's

(13:57):
week to week.
And people are already probablygoing crazy.
Uh they I think people wantHiller's head.
Nobody's impressed with Hollandright now, and I gotta say, it
doesn't look pretty.

(14:18):
I mean, I could yell and screamabout this, but what good is
that gonna do to yell andscream?
Uh, people are upset.
The Kings are one three-one.
They played five games, theyonly have one victory, and their
stellar defense has been missingin action.

(14:38):
They have not played well.
I mean, they've been in thegames, don't get me wrong.
I think uh they had at least twoshootouts.
They won one in Vegas, they lostthe other one in Minnesota.
Um, but obviously everybody wasunderwhelmed this year, just

(14:59):
like they were last year withthe pickups that we had.
And honestly, I was last yearunderwhelmed, but I thought Rob
Blake made some great moves.
Fogle was very good.
Um, I mean, much better than Ithought.
Um Edmondson was ended up beinga good pickup.

(15:22):
I mean, but right now, uh CodyCC and Brian Doomlin are
terrible terrible playingdefense right now.
I mean, I think they're a prettybig good, pretty big minus on
five on five, especially.
Um, so I don't know.

(15:45):
We need to get our our acttogether.
Maybe we're gonna do it.
I mean, I mean, last year I waspretty much 500.
I am one and four after twoweeks of the season.
Cody is two and two.
I'm not used to being second tohim.
I'm used to being first.

(16:05):
So, I mean, if we don't pick itup, it it's craziness is gonna
happen.
Uh, people are already wantingheads to roll.
I mean, I we haven't even seenPerry on the ice.
I I've heard he's um he's beenskating and it he doesn't have
the no contact shirt on, somaybe he's gonna be a little

(16:28):
quicker back than we thought, and maybe he can bring a spark
to this team.
The other thing I don'tunderstand is why did why did
they move Dano up when Kopotar'sout when he's the third three C.

(16:51):
Now maybe I'm missing because Idid didn't really get to watch
these Kings games too much thisseason this uh last week.
I I was working most of theweek.
I I did watch the Winnipeg game, and they they I thought they
played pretty well, they justlost three to two.
Um but we need Brandt Clark.

(17:14):
He he needs to be at least thethird best defenseman in minutes
played.
I know the the Vegas game, heonly I think it was only out
there like for four 13 or 14minutes, but I know the reason
why is because he's not apenalty kill guy.
All the other defensemen areexchanging, you know, playing on

(17:38):
the penalty kill, and we wereshort-handed six times against
Vegas.
We're lucky we pulled out thatshootout victory against them.
Um, but there is still goodnews.
I don't want to be just uh youknow a downer on the kings.
You know, uh we've played fivegames, and right now, uh Quentin

(17:59):
Byfield's a point a game guy,he's got five points in five
games.
We need him to be doing this, sohe's he's doing some of his
share.
The only unfortunate thing Ithink with Byfield so far is his
defense hasn't been like it waslast year.

(18:20):
Excuse me.
He um he's he's been on the icewhen they're giving up goals too
many times.
He needs to fix that.
Clark needs to play.
I mean, he's he's got two pointsin five games, but he was a key
guy to help them win againstVegas.
So, and uh obviously that wasthe first week of games, so

(18:43):
we're not going to be talkingabout that game again.

SPEAKER_01 (18:47):
Why do we uh Kevin says, Why do we keep falling
apart during the second period?
We're playing well in stretchesthan fall apart during the
second period.
Well, you know, they the longchange affects them too.

SPEAKER_00 (19:01):
I I think they're still trying to find their
complete identity.
Some of these players are tryingto make their their games fit
into the plan, and it's ithasn't totally worked yet.
Now, that doesn't mean it won't.
I mean, you sometimes you got togive it time when you have
change.
Yeah, and does anybody realizethat 25 of the starting lineup

(19:26):
was different this year thanlast year?
We have five new players, youknow, that are in that the
starting lineup, meaning there's20 players that dress to play,
you know, and that's forceberg, even if he's not in that, he's
the backup, so he's he's astarter if that if if need be to

(19:50):
come in and play.
And you also have both Doomlinand uh Cece, and um the one we
haven't seen is Perry.
Um, Armia's been decent, butlike I said, we need to pick it
up, we need to start playing.

(20:11):
Maybe they're gonna do thattoday.
Of course, they're I thinkthey're playing one of the
favorites for the EasternConference myself.
Uh, the Hurricanes.
They're tough.
I mean, that's not an easyvictory, even if you're playing
at home.
It's not an easy victory.
So, but that's King's news forthe week.
Sorry to be the what DebbieDowner or whatever you want to

(20:34):
call it.
But you know, maybe next weekwhen I'm on here, things have
switched around, and um maybemaybe we're gonna talk about
some victories.
Yeah, let's hope so.

SPEAKER_01 (20:49):
So on the on the league news, yeah.
Uh so Vincent Trochek of the NewYork Rangers is week to week
with an upper body injury.

SPEAKER_00 (20:59):
So, you want to know what's funny?
I have I have Trochak and I haveKopitar, and they're both out on
my fantasy team, and you'reprobably the top base-off guys,
too.
They're two of the best, yeah.
And uh, I bet you they're bothtop seven.
Probably, I would say in theleague, in the league, so that

(21:22):
definitely hurts.
It it hasn't stopped me fromrolling, though.
That's the only good news forhockey for me this week.

SPEAKER_01 (21:28):
Oh, yeah.
I I would I you should not talkabout anything about losing
players.
You're kicking my butt rightnow.
In fan, I want it's like by ahundred points.

SPEAKER_00 (21:37):
Sorry, Cody.
I told you I was really happywith my draft, but I can tell
you where I and I was we talkedabout this before we came on.
Um, my goalies may be a littleweak.
Uh the rest of my team.
I I was never happier with adraft than I was.
So usually I'm very unhappy, right, Cody?

(22:01):
Yeah, well, you're alwaysunhappy.
I'm I'm happy for not eventalking about hockey, you're
just usually unhappy.
Thank you, son.
Anytime.
Love you.
I love you too.
We'll go back to the leaguenews.
Uh, sabers forward Josh Norriswill miss at least eight weeks
with an upper body injury.

SPEAKER_01 (22:21):
Man, that guy just can't stay healthy, and so much
talent, too.

SPEAKER_00 (22:28):
You know, there and the next bit of news was
expected within from last weekto the next couple of weeks.
This this was gonna happen,Cody.
I'll let you, yeah, and it'syour turn.

SPEAKER_01 (22:41):
So you so speaking of people taking sweet deals
like McDavid and everything, I Ithink this is a really good
deal, but the Montreal Canadianshave signed defenseman Lane
Hudson to an eight-year 8.85million AAV contract extension.
They got him under 9 million.

(23:03):
That's under what Luke Hughes isgetting, under what Jackson
Lacombe is getting.
And honestly, like I'm surprisedhe signed this contract, but
it's not that much below.
No, it's not, yeah, like what50.15 percent uh 150 150,000.

(23:23):
So um, I get I guess I'd takeit.
Yeah, I mean, I I would I wouldjust I would take the difference
between the two a year and behappy.
Um, take the 150k a year.
I'll take that.
Um, but but what what a sweetdeal this is for both Hudson and
the and the Canadians.

(23:44):
Like I mean, they have theircore locked up for years now.
The only person of their corethat's not locked up, I believe,
is Demidoff.

SPEAKER_00 (23:57):
Yeah, you know, um I I was on the um Hockey Princess
podcast, and I and I mentionedthis.
Um, you know, that what a what asweet deal McDavid gave to the
Oilers for the next two yearsbecause he thinks they could
possibly win it in the next twoyears.

(24:18):
But what's gonna happen ifEdmonton falls apart in two
years?
I I think there's two teams, Imean, three teams.
I even had three teams that hecould possibly go to that have a
lot of young talent that mightcome you know through and be

(24:38):
that I mean he would be the guyto lead them to maybe greatness,
and one would be the MontrealCanadians.
They have a they have a lot oftalent on that team.
That I think they're gonna be aplayoff team this year.
Um, the Chicago Blackhawks aregetting better.
Um but the but the team that Ithink is most ready for that in

(25:01):
in the next couple of years willbe the Canadians.

SPEAKER_01 (25:06):
No, the Anaheim Ducks.
I would say it's the Ducks andAn and Montreal.

SPEAKER_00 (25:11):
Like those are like the two, like well, I think I
think the Ducks are definitelythe most young talent, you know.
Yeah, I would say like this iscoming from me.
I would say it's Montreal andand Anaheim.
Yeah, but I think Chicago'scoming up too in two years.
They're gonna, you know, ifthey're still bad, they're gonna
have a couple more draft picks, and if they do well with them, I

(25:33):
mean they gotta they got someyoung talent on that team.
I mean, their problem is isthey've been trying to play
Bedard in a play a position Ithink he's not best for.
Yeah, um, I think he would bebest to be a winger and not a
center, um, just because he'she's small, you know.
They need to put a bigger centerto play with him, and uh because

(25:55):
he can do everything else.
Let go to his strengths.
Yeah, I know that's not even a aducks or a king's information,
but it is hockey, and we lovehockey.
So we're gonna go back to thenews.
Um, I'll get off that high horseand excuse me, more Canadian
news.
The Canadians are signing JeffGordon and Kent Hughes to

(26:19):
five-year extensions.
Uh they they both deserve that.
I I totally agree.
Um, they both do.
They've the the Canadianssurprised everybody last year.
They were pretty good and andpretty tough to to play.
So, and I think they're evenbetter this year, and uh Lane

(26:42):
Hudson's uh a big reason why.
Uh, he he's he's an incrediblyyoung, good, talented
defenseman.

SPEAKER_01 (26:50):
So, yeah, uh yeah, uh I agree with Gary McDavid to
Anaheim would make a ton ofsense.

SPEAKER_00 (26:59):
Yeah, well, as much as I would hate to hear it, and
then you know, I could sit thereand be Cody for the next four or
five years.
Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_01 (27:14):
I I'm as much as I would love to see McDavid in a
ducks uniform, I don't thinkit's gonna happen.
Yeah, we'll see.
So, um, next bit of news is theNew York Rangers become the
first team in NHL history to beshut out in each of their first
three home games of a season.

(27:35):
And you know what the funnything is about that?
So the Rangers have had threehome games, did not score one
home home goal.
The Ducks with Krider.
One home game.
Uh uh, I'm just talking aboutjust one home game, he has two
goals.

(27:57):
Shouldn't shouldn't haveshouldn't have got rid of him,
right?
Is that what you're saying?
They should have kept him.
I forgot which podcast I waslistening to.
They were saying that uh there'snow the the bamboo no curse with
crut Kreider in New York.
That's why they can't score agoal at home.

SPEAKER_00 (28:13):
And and it's shocking because I I thought
they'd be better, but thenagain, I mean, there's another
team that's not performing up towhat people expected, just like
our our kings are the Rangersare not performing like
expected.
They have a lot of talent on theteam, and they have the the
goalie who they think is thegoalie of goalies, yeah.

(28:33):
So now on to board more bad newsfor the Florida Panthers, but
they still keep winning.
Yeah, Dmitry Kulikov is out forfive months after surgery on a
torn labrum.
A lot of injuries are happening, yep.

SPEAKER_01 (28:55):
All right.
Um, Jacob Markstrom of the NewJersey Devils is out a couple of
weeks with the upper bodyinjury.
My third fantasy player out oninjury was and you're still
kicking my butt.

SPEAKER_00 (29:12):
Yeah, and I'm I'm kind of surprised about this
next news, but you know what?
The rich get richer and the poorhave kids, as Mr.
Sharp used to tell me in historyclass.
The Vegas Knights have signedgoalie Carter Hart to a PTO

(29:33):
professional tryout and areexpected to officially sign him
when he's eligible to returnfrom suspension on December
first.
I don't know what what what'sheart?
Well, heart will start workingwith the Henderson Silver
Knights in the eight.

SPEAKER_01 (29:55):
And it's fixed.

SPEAKER_00 (29:59):
Okay.
That's okay.

SPEAKER_01 (30:01):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (30:02):
So heart to heart.
You know, it used to be a TVshow.

SPEAKER_01 (30:07):
Yeah.
Uh, I I know there's a lot ofdrama with that, with everything
going on with what happened withthe heart and the five other
Canadian hockey players.
Um, but like I said, I I kind ofexpected him to go to either
like Vegas, you know, a morelow-key media place.

(30:32):
Like I know Vegas is morelow-key.
People were saying like heshould have gone to Florida
where he could have learnedunder Bob or even Vasilesky or
something, but I think Bob wouldhave been more of a under better
one just because you knowPoprovsky's you know, what 38,
37, 38, and on the yeah, lastyear of his contract.

(30:54):
So yeah, you never know.
Um, but like I said, I Iunderstand all the drama with
everything going on.
So um, but the next up is uhsome another more injury news.
The senator's captain, BradyKachuk, is set to miss six to
eight weeks after undergoingsurgery for a ligament issue in

(31:16):
his right thumb.
God, both Kachuk brothers areout.

SPEAKER_00 (31:19):
That's just so so you know, the whole thing about
the Four Nation faceoff whenthey played Canada, and when
what the first nine seconds wehad three fights, and um, two of
the three fights, the uh Kachukwas in, and now they're both
hurt.
And I think he got I think uhMatthew got actually hurt in the

(31:42):
fight.

SPEAKER_01 (31:43):
No, Matthew got hurt later on.
It was he did like a turn, likethey showed a clip of him, like
when he felt but who knows ifthe fight led to that.

SPEAKER_00 (31:54):
I you know that is true.
I mean, because that they werethey were throwing, baby.
Those oh yeah, flying, you know.
Um, and it I know it's excitingfor us hockey fans to watch
that, uh, but sometimes youknow, we don't want to see guys
missing six to eight weeks orthree to four months, like uh

(32:14):
Matthew Kachuk's gonna do.
It's just been a crazy season.
The entries have been piling up,and this next bit of news
perplexes me because let me justsay it and then we'll talk about
it.
Jackson Blake receives themaximum fine of$2,358.94 for his

(32:39):
two-handed overhead slash on theducks Jacob Truba on Thursday
night.
Maximum fine.
Where the hell do they come upwith two thousand three hundred
and fifty-eight dollars andninety-four cents?

SPEAKER_01 (32:55):
It's based off of their contract.
It's like a percentage of thecontract.
Is that the maximum they couldfind a player?

SPEAKER_00 (33:05):
I mean, just make it $2,500.
Everybody has to pay for it.
What you know, why two thousandthree hundred and fifty-eight
dollars and ninety?

SPEAKER_01 (33:12):
Well, okay, so okay, so all right, so say Capri Soft
does the exact same thing, youknow, 2500 2500 to him is toilet
paper, you know, for probably tohim.
But the Jackson Blake, you know, someone who hasn't, I mean, he
has an eight-year contractalready, but I don't think it
hasn't started yet, so I thinkhe's still making like his
rookie deal, you know.

(33:34):
I mean, 950k to 17 million.
I mean, 250 or 2500 is a bigdifference between those two.

SPEAKER_00 (33:42):
So I I've got a proposal.
Uh I'm just gonna bring it up.
I think we should talk to theNHL, and I think Royally Quack
should get every fine for stufflike this that happens.
We'll be glad to take yourtoilet paper off of you.

SPEAKER_01 (33:57):
But I I mean, okay, okay.
First of all, we're talkingabout money.
Why now?
I don't want anyone's toiletpaper.
Okay, I was put that out there.
There, there's the you know, thedisclaimer.
I don't know.

SPEAKER_00 (34:08):
I think they understood what I meant, Cody.

SPEAKER_01 (34:10):
I'm putting it out there.
You never know nowadays.
Okay, I'm putting thedisclaimer.
We do not want anyone's toiletpaper, we want the money, okay.
Okay, disclaimer, but yeah, I II think he should have got a
game misconduct for that becausethat was intentional what he

(34:31):
did, and I've seen people getgame misconducts for a lot less
than what he just did.
He did get a major though, right?
No, he only got a two-minuteminor.

SPEAKER_00 (34:42):
So, so how does he get that?
And Alex Turcott.
I know I know he pushed the guyinto the boards, but it wasn't
like it was a lot of effort intoit, and he gets a five-minute
major, and that guy gets atwo-minute penalty.
See, there's there's where theygotta they gotta start fixing

(35:03):
this and becoming a little moreuniformed on how they're gonna
dole out the justice to makethese players play the game as
fair as possible, it needs to bedone right.
Because I know again, Eddietalked about it on the lockdown
kings.

(35:23):
He talked about after he lookedat he thought it it was a bogus
call.
He said when he saw the replays,he understood why they called it
because it was into the boards, even though it wasn't as
violent.
But slashing a guy, I mean, comeon, yeah.
That I mean, he swung the stickhard.

SPEAKER_01 (35:46):
Yeah, uh I haven't seen the play.
You'll have to show me the playthat you're talking about, and
then I because I I don't knowwhich play you're talking about,
but but the Jackson Blakeliterally like tomahawked.

SPEAKER_00 (35:58):
I think I think I think that should be an
ejection.

SPEAKER_01 (36:02):
Uh that's what I was saying.
It should have been a majorbecause I mean, I mean, what
happens if he hits truba in thein the face or hits anyone and
makes and can injures like Imean, and you he he deliberately
did it.
It wasn't like an accident orduring it wasn't even during the
play.
There was you know, like rightby the bench, you know, they

(36:24):
always like will push each otheror get in each other's way.
You know, there's always alittle stuff going on right
there.
True, and Jackson Blakeliterally turned, and then I it
was deliberate, you could tell.
If it wasn't deliberate, I wouldhave been like, okay, two-minute
minor, I'm good with that, andeverything.
So I got you.

(36:45):
I yeah, but um, well, that's itfor the league news.
You want to get ready again togame recaps?
Sure.
You want to start or you want meto start?
Um, you got better news than Ido.
I guess I could start.

SPEAKER_00 (36:58):
All right, go for it.
We'll get we'll get your sadnews over first.
So, first of all, um, you know,we had one of the toughest
starts to the season uh playingvery talented teams, Colorado at
home, Vegas on the road, andthen a couple days later we
played in Winnipeg.

(37:19):
And you know, we ended up beingcompetitive in this game, but
they ended up losing 3-2 inWinnipeg.
Um and the Kings I they onlygave up a goal in the second
period, but and had two.

(37:40):
So going into the third period, the game was tied.
And the one thing that the Kingsoutshot Winnipeg.
The Kings did better atface-offs than Winnipeg.
The the killer here again ispenalties.

(38:03):
The Kings with penalties, theyhad them in Vegas.
They had they gave up five poweror six power plays in Vegas,
five power plays or four powerplays in Winnipeg, and it gave
up a goal, and they lost by agoal.
Um, most everything was prettyeven, but Winnipeg 28 block

(38:29):
shots, the kings 11.
And if I remember right lastyear, they were pretty good on
block shots.
So, what's the difference hereis people aren't giving their
all on defense.
So, but let's go over thescoring real quick.
Um, X-King in the first period,X-King Alex Ayafalo scored on

(38:52):
the power play, go uh assist byum Kyle Connor and X-King Gabe
Villardi to make it one tonothing.
In the second period, MikeyAnderson gets his first from
Dowdy, his second assist, andAdrian Kempe, his second assist
to tie the game one-one.

(39:13):
Then Kempe got his first goal ofthe season from Kopitar, his
third assist, and Kuzmenko hissecond assist.
And the Kings are up two to one,but it didn't last maybe a
little over nine minutes to havethe lead, and Mark Shifley, who
always seems to kill the Kings, scores his first from Barron,

(39:37):
his first assist on a backhandedshot to tie the game, and then
at the 1147 mark of the thirdperiod, Shifley gets a second
from Morrissey his first andVellardi his third.
Do you think we could have usedVellardi instead of having
Dubois?
I mean, just gonna say anotherlittle dig right now.

(40:00):
Um I'm I know I'm not yellingand screaming, but I'm a little
ticked off at my kings rightnow.
So that was the game winner.
Um, let's let's go to the stars.
Um, third star, obviously.
Uh Vesna trophy winner.
Uh Connor Hellebuck was thethird star.

(40:22):
He had a save percentage of 938.
The second star was our ownAdrian Kempe, goal and assist
for two points.
And the number one star, obviously, with the game winning
goal, and two of the three goalsfor the Jets was Mark Scheifley.
So that's how the game ended.
3-2.
We were competitive, you know, just we're not winning.

(40:48):
I still think we're being atleast somewhat competitive, the
except for the first gameagainst Colorado.
We lost 401 in that game, butwe've been in competitive in
most of the other games, andthat's that's the game one.

SPEAKER_01 (41:02):
So our game won.
We the ducks played their secondgame of the season, and this was
at San Jose.
Um, what a game this was.
Um, so this was a back and forthbattle.
So in the first period, TylerDeFole, X-King, um, scores his

(41:26):
first goal of the season and uhassists from Will Smith and
Michael Celabrini.
Wow, what a trio they are.
Um, he scores on a slap on aslap shot uh to make it
one-nothing at the 340 mark.
And then for the second goal, the sniper himself, Ryan Reeves,

(41:47):
scored gets his first goal since2023, I believe.
Um assist from Adam Godet andNick Letty and on a wrist shot,
which Morazic so to shape savedthat one.
That was a bad, bad goal forMorazzik.
Um, so now it's 2-0 at the 11-12mark, and then Cutter Gaudier

(42:10):
gets his first of the seasonwith McTavish and Gudis getting
the assist on a wrist shot, andthat is at the 1153 mark.
So that two nothing lead onlylasted about 45 seconds, and
then Beckett Seneca on the powerplay gets his second of the year
and ties it up at the 1514 markon a wrist shot, and McTavish

(42:32):
gets his second assist of thegame, and Owen Zellberger gets
the secondary assist.
So now it's 2-2 after one.
Second period, Mario Ferrarogets his first of the year on a
wrist shot at the 521 mark.
Assist from Will Smith andCelebrini, and then at the 6-19
mark, Calorne ties it up withassists from Calorne, and that's

(42:54):
Calorne's first goal of theyear.
Um, so we're tied 3-3 at 6-19,and then former duck John
Kleinberg on the power play getshis first of the year to make it
4-3 San Jose, and then AdamGodet on the power play gets his
first of the year and makes it5-3 San Jose.

(43:15):
And then just before the secondperiod ends, Chris Kreider on
the power play gets his firstgoal as an Anaheim duck.
What this is from Carlson andTerry.
So now it's 5-4 after two.
And so we go into the thirdperiod, and Jeff Skinner gets
his second of the year at the553 mark on a wrist shot.

(43:37):
So now it's 6'4.
Uh San Jose.
And at this point, I'm ready tolose my mind.
My hair was going gray.
I was I was so I was so donewith this game.
I mean, just the penalties, andjust six goals from the San Jose
Sharks.

(43:58):
And we're gonna get to that in abit too.
But let's move on with the thescoring.
And at the 1029 mark, CutterGaudi gets a tip in shot to his
second of the game.
McTavish his third assist of thegame.
Seneca gets his first assist ofthe year, so now it's six-five
San Jose.

(44:18):
And then the ducks pull theirgoalie and with less than a
minute left.
Chris Kreider gets a second ofthe game to tie it up on a wrist
shot with assist from Carlsonand Terry.
So now we're tied 6'6.
And we're now we're going intoovertime.
And the Sharks started with thepuck puck, they won the

(44:39):
face-off.
And I don't think they I don'tknow if they actually got a good
shot or not, but on the ducks'very first shot, Leo Carlson
takes it up and gets an assistwith Granlin, and he scores the
game winner in overtime to gethis first goal of the year.
So the ducks win this one atwith 45 seconds into the

(45:00):
overtime.
And on a wrist shot fromCarlson, game winner.
We go home.
Thank you.
Finally, oh we we that was ourfirst technical lead of the
year.
Technically, um, so the duckswin this one 7-6 in overtime,

(45:21):
shots on goal 44 to 23.
Face-off percentage.
We're still lacking on theface-off percentage.
Um, it's 58 to 42.
Power play, two for four.
Uh each team was two for four.
Um hits 24-20 in favor of ducks, block shots 18-12 in favor of
San Jose.

(45:42):
Giveaways, uh 20 to 15 in favorof San Jose, and then each team
had three takeaways.
So the decks get the first uhwin of the year against uh San
Jose, uh the division rival.
So the three stars of the game, definitely not Peter Morazic.

(46:03):
Um, Leo Carlson is the thirdstar.
Um, he had one goal and twoassists for three points.
Uh, Will Smith and MacklinCelabrini were the other two
stars.
Will Smith was number two,Macklin Celabrini was number
one, and they both had threeassists for three points.
So then that's it for our firstgame of the week.

SPEAKER_00 (46:25):
So the Sharks have two of the three, the top two
stars, and yet they lost thegame.

SPEAKER_01 (46:31):
That's because they're the home team.
Which I will say this this isone thing I'm happy that the
decks are still staying with.
We've had two away games, andboth times we've worn the orange
helmet on the road.
So I like that.
Let's keep that up.

SPEAKER_00 (46:48):
Okay, yep.
Well, our next game was onMonday the 13th, and we went to
Minnesota, and this did not lookgood to start with.
Um, I'll just go right to thescoring.
First period, Spurgeon gets onthe power play.

(47:09):
His first from Johansson issecond, and Rossi is third.
Rossi's on my fantasy team.
Way to go, Rossi.
That's the only reason I likethat is it gave me some points.
Now it's one-nothing.
Um wild.
Then the 17 million dollar man,Karil Caprisov, got his third on

(47:31):
the power play from Boyam andTeresenko at the 16-13 mark, and
it's two to nothing.
Now that's two power.
What happened to the penaltykill, boys?
Um, it's it's non-existent rightnow, and we just keep doing
penalties.
Not to make it any better forthe kings, but Matt Boldy gets

(47:53):
his third on the power play, allin the first period, from
Teresenko is third, and EricksonEck is third.
So after the first period, it'sthree-nothing.
Minnesota.
Second period, Kings play muchbetter.
They don't score, but neither dothe wild.

(48:15):
So now we're gonna go to thethird period, and this is where
it gives you a little bit ofhope about the kings.
Kevin Fiala scores his secondgoal from Armia, his second
assist, and Brad Clark, hisfirst at 353 mark to make it
3-1.

(48:35):
Then finally, on the power play,Quentin Byfield gets his second
from Kempe his third, andKopotar is fourth at the 622
mark, and it's now 3-2.
Then obviously, with the with uhthe goalie pulled, uh the kings

(48:58):
score at the 19-14 mark to tieit.
Kempe is second from Byfield hissecond, and Dougie is third.
So now we go to overtime wherenobody scores.
Then we go to the shootout, andbasically Capri Soff, Kempe,

(49:21):
Boldy, Moore, Teresenko, Fialaall failed.
Then, of course, only good newsfor me is it's Marco Rossi
scores um on the shootout, andthen Kuzmenko um fails, and the
Kings lose in a shootout again.
Um four to three in Minnesota, but a nice comeback.

(49:46):
Three goals in the third periodto tie the game.
Uh, at least made it exciting.
They did turn the tide and andgot the momentum their way, but
just couldn't finish off thegame.
So that's game two for lastweek.
Cody, go to your third game.

SPEAKER_01 (50:04):
All right, our third game was well, third overall
game, our second game of theweek.
Um, was the Ducks home opener.
I mean, I already kind of gavestuff away about this.
Uh, I I was at the game, it wasso much fun.
Um, I got my new hat, I got towear my new jacket that my wife

(50:26):
bought me for my birthday.
Um, the only thing that suckedwas like the whole rain
situation.
Uh, I couldn't get out to thethe orange carpet event, but I'm
kind of glad like I didn'tbecause from what I heard is
they made it a lot differentthis year with the rain and
everything.
They just made it like onestraight line, so it was kind of
harder to get autographs andpictures of the players.

(50:50):
So um, but if anyone has uh thefan fest tickets, let me know.
I'm interested in that.
I would like to try to go tothat if I could.
Um, but let's go back to thegame.
Um, so the ducks host the Crosbyand the Pittsburgh Penguins, and
the guy that's going for theRocket trophy this year is

(51:11):
Justin Praz Brazo of Pittsburgh.
He gets his the first goal ofthe game at a minute and three
seconds in on a tip and shot, and that's his fourth of the
year already.
Um and uh Evgeny Malkin's goingfor the oh what was it?
What's the most points?

(51:33):
I forgot Rocket is goals what'sthe most points?
Heart?
No, no, that's the MVP really.
Um anyways, but well, if theGenny Mulkin already has should
be the it should be the GretzkyAward, yeah, yeah.
Um, but uh Evgeny Mulkin alreadyhas six assists of the season

(51:57):
already.
So the um Pittsburgh goes up onenothing, and then six minutes
later, former Anahybe duckRicard Raquel gets his second of
the year assist from Shea andCrosby to make it two nothing uh
Pittsburgh, and then at the 942mark, Chris Kreider gets his

(52:20):
third of the year on the powerplay assist from Leo Carlson and
Michael Granlin uh to make a2-1, and that was on a tip-in
shot.
A lot of tipping shots you'llhear on this, and then um just
before the first period ends,Carter Gaultier gets his third
of the year from Pavel Minchikovand Beckett Seneca to tie it up
on a slap shot.

(52:41):
That was a great play, greatpass by uh Minti there across to
Cutter to tie it up.
So now we're tied one or sorry, two after one, and then second
period.
So it only took us three gamesfor the ducks to get our first
lead in the game of the year.

(53:01):
Uh Drew Hellison gets his firstof the year from Chris Kreider
to make it three two ducks, andthat was at the 948 mark, but
that lead did not last longbecause at the 1701 mark,
Anthony Manta gets his first ofthe year.
So now we're tied uh 3-3 aftertwo, and the whole third period

(53:22):
is back and forth, back andforth.
You know, everyone has theirchances, and then with about
what a minute and 45 secondsleft.
Um, I forgot the player's name, but one of the Pittsburgh
players, um, when he went to uhI can't think of the word to

(53:45):
dish the puck out of thedefensive zone, he threw it over
the glass.
Delay of game penalty.
And sure enough, the ducks go ona power play with what a minute
and 45 seconds left.
And I and at this point, I'mlike, in my mind, I'm like, the
ducks are gonna score the gamewinner right here.
And uh I'll I'm gonna let thethis video do do the rest

(54:06):
because this is like literallyright after the the face-off.

(54:46):
So he gets his fourth of theyear.
Yep.
So he gets two in one game, andthat was the game winner, and
that was assists from Troy Terryand Leo Carlson.
I would have had it right at theface-off, but then they stopped
the they dropped the puck, andyou know how they always you
know reset, and then I couldn'tget my camera going back up in

(55:07):
time.
So I missed the the face-off,but that was the gist of the
play.
But what a way to win uh andeverything.
Like I said, the 10thconsecutive home home opener
win, the most in uh active rightnow.
So I'm happy that they won whenI was there.

(55:29):
I can't it's usually they don'tthe ducks usually don't win when
I'm there, so and I'm happyabout that.
They finally won a game at homewhen that we were there.
So what a great way to win, youknow.
Got my mask.
I got to talk to DJ Jojo, met alot of great people, saw Kyle
from Locked on Ducks andeverything.

(55:51):
Um, I didn't get to see Trentbecause I think they had their
own 21st duck thing, so uh it'sit sucks because I wanted to say
hi to Trent.
Um, but you know, hopefully uhthe next time I go, I'll be able
to see Trent and everything, andwe get another win the next time
I go.

SPEAKER_00 (56:08):
Art Ross trophy, Cody.

SPEAKER_01 (56:10):
Art Ross, thank you.
And here's the three stars ofthe game, real quick.
Uh Hellison is the third star ofthe game with the one goal.
Cutter Godier with uh one goalis the second star, and of
course, your number one starwith the game winner with two
goals and one assist, ChrisKreider.

SPEAKER_00 (56:30):
Excellent.
So on to the third game for theKings, finally back at uh at
home at Staple Center, and we'reobviously playing the Penguins
after they were disappointedlosing to the ducks, and this
really actually started off likeI was thinking, okay, we're

(56:52):
finally getting it together.
Um, so start off the scoring.
Warren Fogle with his first fromuh Trevor Moore his first and
Cody CC his first.
So it's nice to see some othernames in the scoring column for
uh goals and assists.
Then um in this uh also in thesecond period, Kevin Fiala got

(57:16):
his third from Byfield his thirdand Armia his third to make it
two nothing at the 904 mark.
So going into the second period,it is two nothing Kings, and it
was looking good.
Then obviously, uh as Cody said,Avengie vengie Malkin Evgeny

(57:38):
Evgeny Malkin on the power playgets his first from Rust his
second and Carlson his first atthe 637 mark, and it's now two
to one.
And then Connor Dewar, uh lessthan a minute later, scored his
first from I don't even know howto sell this A Saria Acaria and

(58:04):
Shay.
Shea got his fourth assist.
Acaria's first tied it up 2-2,and the the Kings just kind of
fell silent after the firstperiod.
In third period, Holander scoredhis first from Raquel his
second, and uh Watherspoon hisfirst, and then uh the Sid the
kid got an empty netter at the1929 mark from Watherspoon his

(58:28):
second and Carlson his second, and that's how the score ended
is Kings uh lose to the Penguinsfour to two.
And I can't remember the lasttime I remember him beating the
penguins, we just don't playwell against them.
Um we were we outshot him 32 um26, and what mace me is this

(58:51):
stat.
If anybody knows anything aboutSid the Kid, he's probably one
of the face-off best face-offguys in NHL history.
Kings won 61 percent of theface-offs to 39.
Wow, then again, Pittsburgh wasone for two on the power play,
and the kings were oh for two.

(59:12):
You know, the kings out hit him23 to 13.
But again, our block shots wereI think week it was only 10.
Uh, and the penguins had 15.
Giveaways was 16 for the kings,15 for the penguins, takeaways
three kings, zero for thepenguins.
Again, we lose four-two.

(59:32):
Let's go to the three stars ofthe game.
Uh Fogle was the third star witha goal.
Um Seal offs.
How do you have Sheelofts?
Sheeloffs, uh, the goalie.
Uh, the kid from Vancouver thatthey picked up uh was the second
star with a 938 save percentage, and then Hollander was the

(59:57):
number one star with a goal.

SPEAKER_01 (01:00:00):
that ended our week with the kings going 0-3 me
going oh and three all right soon not not a happ not a happy uh
kings fan so on to our last gameof the week um the ducks host uh

(01:00:22):
the carolina hurricanes and itell you this the carolina
hurricanes they look good i i itdidn't look like boring hockey
to me the how they were playingum but seth jarvis gets his uh
starts the scoring off in thisone his fourth of the year and
shane gostosphere gets hisfourth assist of the year so

(01:00:42):
that the canes lead 1-0 afterone and that was at the 1454
mark in the second period on thepower play Seth Jarvis gets his
second of the game so we're nowwe're on hat trick watch um Seth
Jarvis scores with uh JacksonBlake getting assist and
Gostasphere again getting theassist so it's 2-0 Carolina at

(01:01:04):
the 1022 mark and then LeoCarlson gets his second of the
year first of the game fromassists from Calorne and
Hellison to make it 2-1 at the1132 mark and then after that
there was really nothing muchafter that for the ducks in the
third period they gave up justanother uh first NHL career goal

(01:01:29):
alexander Nikishkin gets hisfirst of the year so now it's
3-1 Carolina um and Gusfirkagain with another assist and
then uh one more goal fromSebastian Aho and assist from
Seth Jarvis so now it's 4-1Carolina and that will be your
final uh the ducks like I saidthey didn't look bad Carolina

(01:01:52):
just looked better in this gamethat's how I would probably say
it um much better on the faceoff this game uh we won at uh 58
to 42 uh shots on goal uhCarolina had 32 we had 24 0 for
four on the power play justcarolina's power play just it it

(01:02:12):
looks really good and like theythey just shut you down uh and
everything like I would say likethey have probably the one of
the best defense I think theywere number one in the penalty
kill last season as well so andthey had almost the exact same
people coming back um but we had31 hits to Carolina's 19 each

(01:02:34):
team had 16 block shots Carolinahad 22 giveaways we had 15 but
Carolina had four takeaways andwe had one so Carolina takes uh
game one of the season seriesfour to one and then your three
stars of the game wow i'mactually shocked that gossip is
not on here uh alexander is thethird star with his uh one goal

(01:02:59):
leo Carlson is the number twostar with one goal and then Seth
Jarvis is the number one starwith two goals one assist and
we're talking about a guy thathad one two three assists in
this game Shane Gospel Spherehad three assists and he's not
even one of the three starsthat's a travesty yeah by the

(01:03:19):
way it and we almost had agoalie goal in the or not goalie
goal a goalie fight in this gameum so we had a lot of penalty
minutes at like at the end ofthe second period I'm gonna read
off the penalties real quickFrederick Anderson gets two
minutes for uh goalie leavecrease lucas got two minutes for

(01:03:42):
goalie leave crease KeandreMiller two minutes for roughing
and removing opponent's helmetmason mtavish uh mix mason
mtavish gets two minutes forroughing Logan stakehoven and
Logan Steakhoven gets twominutes for roughing mason
mtavish so yes it we ended upgetting we did end up getting a
power play out of that uh theonly reason why Dostal even left

(01:04:06):
his crease is because FreddieAnderson left his crease first
it took attend uh the fight andLukosh was like well if you're
leaving I'm leaving and I I likethat so I wouldn't say it was
almost a goalie fight but it itI that one when the game that we
went to with the Ducks Kings onethat one was a lot closer to

(01:04:27):
being a goalie fight than thisone was so yeah well uh Gibson
would have got an instigatorpenalty because he was the
instigator on that one what washe though Copley punching
Vitrano that is the instigatewith the blocker that's and he
and and he got kicked out of thegame for it yes but that's not

(01:04:51):
an instigator an instigator is ii mean who knows what instigator
he goes to the he goes to thered line and starts tapping his
stick come on out of here soflurry flurry that same year
went all the way across and saidlet's go let's go and he didn't
get an instigator should have noyeah so oh by the way i forgot

(01:05:15):
to mention in the home openerwhen we got the game we got um
before we went back to our seatsthey were already playing um and
i talked i i went up to theusher i was like i'm so jealous
of the job you have you get paidto sit here and watch the ducks
play so he's like well you wantto do it and I was like I would

(01:05:36):
love to so I got to tell peopleto not go to their seats while
they were in play and then afterthe goalie made the save I made
sure we were at stopped and thenI let everyone go back to their
seats and then I did too so Ithought that was kind of I had a
little fun with that I mean canyou not say that's not me though

(01:05:59):
no I can't say that you're notshocked one bit are you no not
at all so I you know what I amshocked about huh I haven't seen
one comment from Captain Chaostoday.
I know that is shocking I mean Ihope he's not sick or something
well I mean maybe he's playing Ido have extra I do have a mask

(01:06:20):
and it's funny because hemessaged me at the game he's
like I'm so jealous you get amask and I was like and it's
funny because Christina's like Idon't even want mine I don't
know what we're gonna do with itand I was gonna um do a giveaway
but then um I told Adam he canhave it but then I met up with
DJ Jojo he gave an extra maskthis actually will lead to our

(01:06:41):
little giveaway so I'm gonna doa giveaway I'll announce the
winner next week so I do have anextra wallowy mask and all you
gotta do is you have to followRoyally quacked and you have to
follow the Mighty Ducks Club onInstagram and you and I will do
a post you have to tag threepeople in the post and I will

(01:07:06):
select a winner next week soundsgood it's that's it simple you
have to follow two accounts andtag three people on the post and
you you and you cannot tag me onmy personal you can't tag my
dad's personal and you cannottag the role quacked account no

(01:07:26):
you have to tag three differentpeople three new people three
new people there we go all rightsounds good so uh I'm I I wanted
to get that out there I'll I'lltry to do a post about that
later um so let's do uh gamepredictions let's do it so I'll
let you start because you wantyou said you want to do

(01:07:49):
something a little differentthis time well yeah um I'll
explain after I I uh I'll giveall three of my games here
pretty quickly uh we are playingthe hurricanes tonight and I
think the hurricanes possiblycould be in the cup from the
east they're that good and Ihave them beating the kings

(01:08:12):
tonight 5-2 so a loss uh tonightagainst the hurricanes 5-2
they're pretty good then onTuesday we are in St.
Louis playing the blues I'mgoing to predict that we'll lose
that game four to three thenThursday uh we're gonna play the
Dallas Stars and I'm predictingwe'll lose that game five to two

(01:08:36):
now you're going why thenegativity Gary I'm going well
last week I picked them to winall three games and we lost so
this time I'm picking them tolose all three games so we will
win them that's my that's whatI'm gonna do all right uh I like
the thinking drop the mic allright so the ducks play tomorrow

(01:09:05):
we start a five game road trip Ibelieve this is tied for the
longest road trip of the year umso we start tomorrow in Chicago
um that's funny because whenthey when they were talking
about this yesterday on the latearrivals podcast and everyone
knows my hatred for the ChicagoBlackhawks and I I predicted an

(01:09:30):
80 to nothing win for theAnaheim ducks but I was just
joking um but I'm beingrealistic I'm predicting a ducks
win and I'm gonna I guess thescore is gonna be five to two so
you were on late arrivals againno no no that I was just uh I
was watching uh Kyle Carr was onlate uh late arrivals last night
oh so I wanted a tune I was wellI was watching live and

(01:09:53):
commenting and I was kind oflike their captain of chaos ah
yeah okay not as bad as I meanno nobody can be Adam kind
captain of chaos though he takesthe cake on that but yeah I'm
predicting a 5-2 win in Chicagoto start the the road trip and
then on Tuesday we go over toNashville um and I'm predicting

(01:10:17):
a 4-2 win in Nashville for theAnaheim ducks and then to end
the week I believe that's thelast game before our next
podcast um on game is it numberseven the ducks will be in
Boston and I'm actually predicta four three loss against Boston

(01:10:38):
Boston looks sneaky sneakilygood right now so they they they
have been playing well so scarywell yeah so I I'm predicting a
four three loss on that one okayso okay so so prediction wise
you what what are our recordsright now I'm one and four okay

(01:11:01):
you're two and two i'm two andtwo yeah okay you went two and
one this week and because Ithink I got the Carolina game
right and I got the Pittsburghgame right right actually I
think you went three and oh yeahI was gonna say I thought I

(01:11:23):
predicted the Carolina wouldbeat the ducks so I I lied
you're three and one way to gosomebody's got to be good at it
in the yeah that sounds aboutright because I did sorry I
thought the duck I predicted theducks would beat Seattle and I
was wrong and I was like wait Iwas like wait which game did I
get wrong because I knew theducks would I know I yeah you

(01:11:43):
went three and oh I went oh andthree a total reversal of the
way it went last year hopefullyI can make a comeback well there
was a there was at one point ofthe year that I I was making a
little bit of a comeback butdidn't last long yeah well the
kings were much better at leastso far than they last year than

(01:12:05):
they were are this year so likeI said I really could care less
if I win that I want the kingsto win first so if I I went oh
in 82 and the kings are winningand make the playoffs I'll be
happy yeah so just gonna saythat so do you have any as after

(01:12:27):
the first we'll say two weeks ofthe season how you feeling about
our division standingspredictions and playoff picks I
know it's still really early totell but how you feeling about
it so far I feel like uh a lotof it I'm missing the boat on

(01:12:49):
right now.

SPEAKER_00 (01:12:50):
Yeah like I said I know it's still really early I
mean Vegas is up there um I'mtrying to remember I know the
kings are like third from thebottom yeah uh so uh another
question so I'm on Dopplerhockey or dober hockey it's what

(01:13:12):
the 32 thoughts people uh weresaying like for like line
combinations and stuff like thatfor the kings defense you want
to know who has the best uh orwho's given up which pair
defensive pair has given up themost goals Dowdy and Anderson

(01:13:35):
that's one of them yes they'vegiven up five and there's
another pair that's given upfive and I'm pretty sure you
might be CC and Doomlin.

SPEAKER_01 (01:13:44):
Yeah so but now here's the thing Dougdy and
Anderson yes they've given upfive goals but they're on the
penalty kill most of them on thepenalty kill I don't I don't
know I I I can always do evenstrength and see how that is um
but no so yes they have given upfive goals but they've also

(01:14:06):
helped four goals four right sothey're a minus one right CC and
Doomlin five goals against zerogoals four so they're a minus
five right I I knew that washappening already yes so I was

(01:14:27):
like um not a very good pair Ilooked at the ducks one yet
let's see ducks generate reportright now if I was Hiller I
would move move doomlin to playwith um Clark Clark and then
Edmondson to play with um ccyeah and I think that might

(01:14:53):
solidify it a little bit becauseI think doomlin is a little more
offense and so you have yoursecond pair would be a little
more offensive and I that mightput more pressure on the team
and they might be able to getmore penalties and and maybe
actually score some goals andthen Edmondson can solidify how

(01:15:13):
bad CC's been because he I thinkhe's been the worst of of all
the defensemen on the Kings lastquestion I'm going all over the
place with these things you wantto guess who the top five power
plays are currently uh I wouldhave to I would be guessing
because I don't know okay I'mI'm guessing because you're

(01:15:37):
asking the question the ducksare in there the ducks are
number five at 26.7 percent umwait till you hear who the other
four are like one of them youwill not I I you would not
expect the other three yeah youwould expect to be there well

(01:15:57):
see I'm trying to thinkEdmonton's always pretty good
but Edmonton's not even top tenright now they are number 12
Colorado Colorado is number 24wow um buffalo buffalo god no

(01:16:24):
are they oh well that's justthey're 15th all right I'm gonna
tell you this all West teams allWest or West conference all West
there's two central and twoPacific that are Minnesota would
be up Minnesota's number one at43 and a half percent okay um

(01:16:52):
Vegas Vegas is number four at28.6 so you now you need number
two and number three one Pacificone central um Pacific what
didn't you say the ducks werenumber five I'm saying the two

(01:17:15):
teams left number two and numberthree one's a central the other
one's Pacific um Winnipeg noWinnipeg's number seven at 25 um
Dallas Dallas is number two at38 and a half percent now you

(01:17:38):
just need number three and it'sa Pacific team and I'm gonna
remember I gave you a big hintsomeone that you would not
expect to be there San Jose SanJose at 31.3 yeah they they they
got a there'd be another teamthat McDavid could go to no

(01:18:01):
they've got a lot of number oneno it's either Anaheim or stay
in Edmonton or go east or goeast yeah I don't I don't think
he's ever gonna leave I don'tthink so Edmonton unless unless
they just totally completelyfall apart.
That's what I truly believe soyeah all right all right well uh

(01:18:25):
are you ready to get out of hereI am I I know you're tired of
talking about this week it'sbeen it's been a busy uh uh week
anyways so with work and soforth and uh but you know it can
change in a moment maybe maybethey'll shock me and beat the

(01:18:47):
canes tonight I I would I wouldbe excited at that yeah uh
Freddie Anderson did he lookedgood the other night um but like
I said I don't know who theirbackup is or but I mean they
already had two days off so Icould see uh Anderson going back
in but all right well if ifwe're gonna get out of here um

(01:19:07):
that's gonna be a wrap of weektwo uh of the regular season of
Royally Quacked uh I hope youhad as much fun as we did

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
