SPEAKER_05 (01:15):
Welcome back, hockey
fans, to Royally Quack, Episode
85.
It's hard to believe it's been85 episodes, huh, Cody?
SPEAKER_01 (01:27):
It's it is hard to
believe it's been eighty-five
episodes.
SPEAKER_05 (01:30):
Sometimes it seems
like it's been 185, and other
times it just seems like it wentby so fast.
SPEAKER_01 (01:36):
Yeah.
Like sometimes it feels yeah, like you said, 185 or episode
10.
SPEAKER_02 (01:41):
Like it it it's been
fast.
Um, but how how was your weekthis week?
SPEAKER_03 (01:51):
Crazy.
SPEAKER_02 (01:53):
I I know the
feeling.
SPEAKER_01 (01:54):
I was on call this
week so for work, so I
completely understand what youmean when you say crazy, because
each of the times the ducks hada game, I got a call this week.
SPEAKER_02 (02:12):
Yes, it is annoying.
SPEAKER_05 (02:14):
Oh yeah, I I would
find that annoying.
Yes, very much so.
Yeah, I had a guy get sick, goby ambulance to the hospital,
and I had to ride with it was anAM driver.
Because I'm the PM supervisor, Iwas the only one that could go
out and get the car.
So I had to ride and do likelike five dailies with one of my
(02:36):
drivers.
Then go to Hollywood, pick itup, and it took me just about
two hours to get back to LisoViejo.
And it was like And then umyesterday I hadn't been there
very long and uh our LAXmid-driver uh got hit by
something flying across debris.
(03:00):
Yeah, I hit his windshield.
Um it was not safe to drive, sohe pulled over.
So then I I was there in about50 minutes.
It was uh over off of right nearHawthorne exit on the 405 north.
And so I get there, give him acar, he takes off, and I they
(03:22):
tell me no, it they told me itwas gonna be from 241 to 311.
So I'm it's like 130 when I'mthere.
I just had my book on tape on, Iput my head back.
That wasted an hour because Ihad a nap for an hour.
SPEAKER_02 (03:44):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_05 (03:46):
But then again, it
you know, three uh three
forty-one came, four elevencame, and at four sixteen says,
If we haven't seen or heard froma driver, call, so I called and
it said the voicemail was full.
Then I called again and it wasbusy, and I called and I talked
to someone and shows, Yeah, yourdriver's uh just dropping
(04:07):
someone off at LAX, he'll bethere somewhere around four
o'clock.
So not a I I was there for twoand a half hours, and then uh
like I said, a two-hour driveback.
SPEAKER_01 (04:20):
Yeah, my last
weekend was pretty busy since I
was on call.
And of course, the guy that wason call before me, he had two
weeks straight of being on call.
And he only got one total call, didn't have to go out.
SPEAKER_02 (04:37):
I go on call.
SPEAKER_01 (04:40):
Luckily, nothing
happened on Friday night, but
then Saturday um I got twopeople that call that they were
out of gas.
So I had to go down there, putuh fill up their tanks, and then
do, but and I gotta do more thanthat.
I gotta like, you know, do aleak test to see it's like a
procedure, like we have to seeif there's a leak in their line
(05:01):
and all this.
I gotta relay their waterheaters and everything.
And then I had another customercall in the middle of when I was
doing everything, but theyweren't a customer, so I
couldn't do anything about it.
And then I was supposed to go tothe mall because they had the
Greek and wine festival there.
And I guess they're ourcustomer, and I was supposed to
(05:23):
go filter cylinders, and I calland they're like, oh no, we're
good for the weekend.
Um, and I was and like, hey, like if we need you, we'll call
you.
I'm like, perfect, sounds good.
So Sunday comes around, andnormally, like, I what I'll try
to do when I'm doing all theediting for like social media
posts for the podcast and allthe reels, I'll I'll try I try
(05:44):
to knock it out like as soon asI wake up that way I can just
enjoy the rest of the Sunday.
Um some or sometimes I'm justlazy, or you know, I'll do it
like sporadically through theday.
But I had a gut feeling I wasgonna get calls, so as soon as I
woke up, I knocked it all out,and it's like about 10 minutes
after I knocked it all out, Igot back-to-back calls.
(06:06):
And I had to go out and takecare of uh a couple customers.
Luckily, and then the Greek andwine festival people call me,
they're like, hey, we do needthe propane, we're almost out,
and we still have a lot ofpeople to feed.
And I was like, Alright, I'mlike, I got one customer ahead
of you, and I'll be right there.
They're like, okay, perfect.
I get there and they're like,and I'm starving.
(06:27):
I haven't I haven't really atemost of the day.
I was smelling all this great, like, cooked meat, like food
right there.
They hooked that, I can tellyou, they hooked it up.
They gave me this coffee, tastedamazing, and then they gave me a
euro, and I demolished it inlike about three bites, and the
thing was like like this.
(06:48):
They packed it and everything, and they're like, You want
another one?
I was like, Yes.
And I was like, don't I'm like,just don't tell my wife I'm eat
I'm eating I'm eating this.
She's like, oh well, you wantsome to go?
And I was like, Yeah, I'll taketwo to go.
So I got like four Euros forfree and everything.
SPEAKER_02 (07:03):
And I was f I was
full after that.
SPEAKER_01 (07:08):
Yeah, they were they
were really nice there and
everything, and then just beingon call this week too, so yeah.
I I it was nice getting a littlebit overtime this last week, but
enough about what what'sovertime?
SPEAKER_02 (07:25):
Oh, well, your
salary, at least you know what
you're making.
Um, you you want to get intonews now?
SPEAKER_04 (07:35):
Yeah, why don't you
go ahead and start?
SPEAKER_01 (07:37):
Okay.
You're on the top, so um I mean,I just that's just how I've had
it.
I don't if you ever want to gofirst, I don't care.
It's alright.
SPEAKER_04 (07:47):
You have a little
bit more news, and it gives me a
chance to put my games on mystreet uh extra screen.
SPEAKER_01 (07:53):
Okay.
So I'm I'm gonna skip the firstone, just I'm gonna come back to
that.
Lexus Downey posted that IanMoore returned back to Harvard
over the summer and finished hisdegree, earning it in economics.
He's a smart kid, and uh, you'llbe hearing a little bit more of
(08:13):
him lately.
Uh or, you know, in thisepisode.
So I forgot to mention this lastweek, but when the Ducks win,
um, they have a player of thegame item pretty much.
Like I think last year was thefireman helmet because of the LA
fires that happened last year.
Yeah.
This year, they're doing thecoat uh Coach Gordon Bombay's
(08:38):
Mighty Ducks jacket that he worein the first Mighty Ducks movie.
So that is the player of thegame item.
I do not want to be I do notwant to smell that jacket at the
end of the season.
SPEAKER_02 (08:53):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (08:54):
But I what a great
um tribute and everything with
everything with that.
Um next bit of news.
Um the ducks scored seven goalsin a game for the second time in
the 2025-2026 season.
You know, a little spoileralert.
Um and the last time Anaheim hadmultiple seven goal games in a
(09:18):
season was in 21, uh 2021 and2022.
SPEAKER_05 (09:23):
Oh, what one other
thing to go with that?
I didn't spoil anything.
On the Bru on the what in theBruins game?
SPEAKER_02 (09:33):
I'm talking about to
them.
SPEAKER_01 (09:35):
Oh, yeah, but I mean
they don't know the scores.
I mean, I by the time they'relistening to this, the game's
already over, okay.
But alright.
Next bit of news.
In the week after the fantasticopening uh Wild Wing Mask Knight
giveaway, which you know, youknow, this one, um, the Anaheim
(09:58):
put it out there that they canbuy it on the team store.
The ducks sold 4,700 of them.
And this is a core uh this isfrom Elliot Freeman.
The orders came from all 50states in the USA and 12
countries, including Brazil,China, France, Hong Kong, Italy,
(10:20):
New Zealand, and Spain.
And then he also added, imagineenjoying the scenery in a
Vietnam of Vietnam Oh, Venetian,sorry.
SPEAKER_05 (10:32):
Venetian gondola.
SPEAKER_01 (10:34):
So we're recording
this, we're recording this at
almost 8.30 on Saturday night.
I'm tired.
It's been a long day.
A Venetian gondola, and someonepasses by in a Wild Wing duck
mask.
Sorry.
It's 8 30 at night.
A little tired and everything.
Um I mean, I'm still I'mdrinking coffee right now, for
(10:54):
God's sakes.
I can't do that or I won't go tosleep.
I'm I'm pretty tired, so it'llbe fine.
And then I know some spoilernews for the next couple.
Um, but Ian Moore will draw infor Radico Gudis because Gudis
got an injury in the Nashvillegame.
It's considered lower body andhe's considered day-to-day.
(11:16):
Uh, Chris Kreider hasn't playedthe last three games um due to
illness.
He remains out.
And then um, this is adefinitely big spoiler, but oh
well.
Um by the time we're alllistening to this, uh, the news
will already be out.
But Mikhail Granlon um suffereda lower body injury during the
Tampa Bay Lightning game.
(11:37):
We're not doing a recap recapthis week.
We're gonna save it for nextweek because we already had that
planned.
And then last bit of news, notreally news, but something I
wanted to add.
Um, but I feel like in and Ithink it's like the key at the
Kings 2.
Which I think arenas need morecrowd involvement in games.
(12:00):
So, what I mean by that, like, okay, Dad, when we went to the
Galaxy game, and yeah, see youalready know what I'm saying,
right?
Yeah.
So, and I and I love that.
And the Ducks used to do this.
Where um before uh Tim Kepp uhKepler, the national anthem
(12:21):
singer for the Anaheim Ducks, before him, I can't remember her
last name, but her first namewas Dawn.
And during the National Anthem, when they says the word Dawn,
everyone in the arena yelled,Dawn.
And it was a I love and I lovethat because you know, so the
crowd got involved andeverything.
(12:42):
And what I noticed when I waslistening or watching the
Nashville game, that the crowdgets into it with the the PA
announcer.
Like, and it it reminded me ofthe LA Galaxy games.
SPEAKER_04 (12:56):
I know where you're
going with this, and I love it.
SPEAKER_01 (12:59):
And it reminded me
of the L Galaxy games.
Uh so I don't know if you peopleknow this.
Like, I'm gonna just say thename because it's one that when
we used to go to the games, itwas said a lot.
Like, so say uh Yassi GiassyZardes scored.
I think that was Zard.
Was it Giasi Zard?
SPEAKER_06 (13:17):
Zardis, I can't
remember his first name.
SPEAKER_01 (13:19):
So yeah, or uh how
about this?
We'll just do Landon Donovan, you know, Galaxy Great.
So whenever he would score, theP announcer would go, and score
by number 10, Landon, andeveryone in the crowd will go,
Donovan, and then number 10,Landon, and then everyone in the
crowd will go, Donovan, and thenthe announcer would be like
(13:41):
thank you, and everyone in thecrowd will be like, You're
welcome.
Like I love that.
I love it.
SPEAKER_06 (13:48):
Could you imagine?
SPEAKER_04 (13:49):
Okay, since it's
Anze Kopotar's last season, he
scores a goal, and then goalscored by Anze, and everybody
goes, Kopotar!
SPEAKER_05 (13:59):
Yes, Anza like,
Kopotar! Thank you, you're
welcome.
That shows every player on theice that the everybody's into
the game.
SPEAKER_01 (14:12):
Yes, I I I want and
I know and the Nashville people
like and I know like whenNashville scores, they sing this
chant like you suck, you suck.
You know, you know, I've heardit before because I think the
San Diego goals, they do it too.
Um, but like I want that.
I I and I loved it when we wereat the Galaxy Games watching
(14:36):
that.
And I I and I I know afterwatching the Nashville game, I
was like, wow, I think hockeyneeds this more everywhere.
I'm not just talking about forthe Ducks or just the Kings.
Seattle, when I was there, theydidn't they had a little bit of
involvement, but not like thatlike that.
But Nashville, applause.
Like I I will give you credit.
(14:57):
I love it.
SPEAKER_02 (14:59):
And I I think all of
hockey needs more of that.
SPEAKER_05 (15:03):
Hockey needs
excitement and I think I've said
it in years past, and not too Imean, we're just in between
Kings and Ducks news right now, anyways.
So yeah, but you know, on the shon a shootout, no holds bar,
they can do whatever they want.
They got one attempt, they coulddo whatever they want.
(15:27):
Yeah, have you watched any ofthe reels for hockey players,
and a lot of it comes fromEurope because they're allowed
to do it.
I mean, you got a guy doing apirouette with a puck on his
stick, comes back, boom, boom, the goalie has no idea what
happened, and it's an easy goaland everybody's y screaming and
yelling.
(15:48):
You want to make the gameexciting again?
Let the excitement happen.
Let it happen.
Um I really think that you knowthe shootout would be almost I
they're probably thinking aboutnot doing it anymore.
I mean, they're even talkingabout maybe ties again.
(16:09):
I go, because what do we whatwhat happens?
Get the puck, hold on to thepuck, skate in, skate out, you
know, keep changing guys outtill you get that one little
break and then somebody goesscore, but everybody's falling
asleep during the five minutesthat it happens.
Now I know why they do itbecause they're not giving the
other team a chance to score.
(16:31):
But if you can do whatever youwant, and if and like I think
we've talked about this inoffseason episodes, um like a
shot clock.
You know, you can't just hold onto the pure.
You get the pure, a clock startsjust like a basketball, you
know, they have a 24-secondshot, you know.
(16:51):
I understand.
SPEAKER_01 (16:53):
It would be hard for
them to do that.
I I I knew I I get what you'resaying, and I totally agree, but
it would be hard to make thatkind of play in game because I I
feel like possession changes alot quicker than like basketball
does sometimes, yeah.
SPEAKER_05 (17:12):
You know, but not
really, because it doesn't
change a whole lot in overtimeanymore.
You might get one or two rushesper team in five minutes.
Now, how many rushes do you getin a uh with five on five like
that?
You'll probably get at leastthree or four each team in five
minutes at least.
SPEAKER_01 (17:31):
Okay, but you're
you're going into stuff in game.
I'm talking about crowd.
SPEAKER_05 (17:36):
Well, that would get
the crowd into the game.
SPEAKER_01 (17:39):
True.
SPEAKER_05 (17:39):
Let's get the crowd
back in the game.
Okay, no, I agree.
We anything else you want to sayabout that?
We can get off that now.
SPEAKER_01 (17:46):
No, I uh I I'm good.
I it's just I I I love thatbecause it reminded me of when
we went to the Galaxy games.
SPEAKER_03 (17:54):
So I love uh I love
that so um on to King's news
Corey Perry is back in action.
So fans, what are your thoughtson Perry?
SPEAKER_05 (18:11):
I was listening to
King's Talk after um the Dallas
game.
It's a new guy.
He's telling everybody, youknow, tell me you love Corey
Perry.
People would call up.
One girl said, you know, I can'tstand Corey Perry.
(18:34):
And I mean, and he acceptedthat, but he was trying to tell
everybody, you gotta love CoreyPerry, you know, and people had
different takes, and he wastelling them, you know, you're
you're co-hosting this with me.
And somebody wins when he doesit.
So I gotta say that's a new newtwist on the uh post-game show
(18:55):
or post-game talk with theKinks.
I'm kind of used to the way itwas, but I I gotta say I love
the enthusiasm this guy had.
He's gonna take me some time toget used to him.
But you know I I I miss JesseCohen still.
I just Jesse had this way abouthim.
(19:16):
So but you know, he's bouncedback, he's got still all the
king's men, he's got uh RoyalHalf, I think he's doing now.
So um he was just on locked onKings too.
If if you guys want to hearabout what happened with Jesse
Cohen.
Because you know, he wasbasically the guy doing a lot of
the media stuff for the Kings.
(19:36):
So anyways, let us know whatyour thoughts are.
And I I'm uh you hate him if youplay against him.
You love him if he's on yourteam.
And I gotta tell you, he'splayed like three games, and I
can see why the teams would lovehim.
I mean, he just does a lot ofthat dirty little stuff, and he
(19:58):
at 40 years old, he's stillcompetitive.
So I'm not saying I love him,but I don't hate him being a
king because I I think he scoreda goal, maybe had a couple
assists already.
We'll have to see.
I can't I I don't know whathappened uh if he had anything
today.
As we're doing this a littlelate.
Um and when we go to ourpredictions, those were done
(20:19):
before any of the games today.
SPEAKER_01 (20:21):
Yeah.
And sorry, we'll both vouch forthat.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_05 (20:25):
Yeah.
Uh you know, Cody had a thing todo, so uh we didn't live stream
today.
We'll be back live streamingnext week.
Uh and we're sorry for any ofyou that uh missed the live
stream.
That's gonna happen a few timesa year.
So uh the other great news, uhCopatar's back versus Nashville
(20:46):
tonight tonight.
So um and then other news, uhBurroughs is expected back in
early November.
He's been out I mean, even partof the preseason.
Here here's my question inKing's News.
What happened to our penaltykill?
(21:06):
I go, I I think we might be theworst team in the penalty kill
after being best or second bestlast year.
We gotta pick it back up.
So now for my King's News, I'mgonna give you my pluses, my
minuses, and my equals.
Minus pluses are they're playingwell.
Minuses, they're not playingwell.
(21:29):
Equals, they're okay.
So pluses, obviously AdrianKempe over point of game.
Um Quentin Byfield, a point ofgame.
Fiala leads the team in goals.
I think well, I think beforewhen I wrote this he did.
It might be Kempe now.
Uh Clark has played well,Dowdy's played well, Kuzmenko's
(21:49):
played well.
These are my minuses.
Fogle, Deneau, Moore, LaFerriere, Goalies, Naaminium,
Dumulin, Sisi, and Helanius.
So those guys gotta pick uptheir game if we're gonna be a
playoff team.
If not, we are not.
(22:10):
Equals Anderson, Turkot, Armia,Kopotar just because he's only
played in half the games.
He is a point a guy for fourgames.
Uh, but he hasn't played, sothat hurts us, so he's an equal.
And Malai.
So those are my pluses, myminuses, and my equals for this
(22:30):
week.
We can now move on to leaguenews.
Do you want to start it, Cody?
You want me to?
SPEAKER_01 (22:37):
I'll start it.
So um on Thursday this week, they had a flashback game,
pretty much.
Or uh this throwback Thursdaykind of thing, where they had
the Colorado Avalanche versusthe Carolina Panthers, uh, not
Carolina Panthers, CarolinaHurricanes, but the Colorado
(23:00):
wore their Quebec Nordiques newuniforms, and the Carolina
Hurricanes wore their HartfordWhalers uniforms.
So we had the Nordiques versusthe Whalers kind of game.
SPEAKER_05 (23:14):
That's kind of cool.
SPEAKER_01 (23:15):
Yeah, I I I I love
that throwback.
I I I I do love the throwback.
The heart honestly, like thoseheart is the Hartford Whaler
like logo one of the best logosin history?
It's right up there.
That's just I would say it's upthere.
Yeah, the the Hartford.
I love the logo and and thecolors I love and everything
(23:39):
too.
It's like I even though it'slike the complete opposite of
the hurricanes, but it's such agreat look.
And I know everyone was sayingwith this game, like, like, hey,
should since was it onNordiques, they have a the
number eight is retired for oneplayer.
I can't remember the player atthe top of my head, and that's
(24:00):
Kale McCarr's number, and number19 is retired for the Whalers,
and Keandre Miller wears thatnumber for Carolina.
Should they for each of thoseplayers not wear those numbers
for that game?
It it was a big thing.
SPEAKER_05 (24:21):
Did they?
SPEAKER_01 (24:22):
They wore their
numbers, I believe.
SPEAKER_06 (24:24):
Well, I you know,
why would they change?
SPEAKER_01 (24:26):
No, I uh I I get
what people were saying, but
it's not like it was WayneGretzky's number or somebody
like that.
Yeah, no, a group.
SPEAKER_05 (24:35):
I mean, it was a
maybe a really good player, but
they're not those teams anymore.
They're they move on to adifferent city, and you I don't
know, are are the mammoth gonnado that with all the coyote
stuff?
No, well that's different allthat.
SPEAKER_01 (24:50):
That's it's come
that one's completely different
because it's a whole new team.
SPEAKER_05 (24:56):
In a way.
SPEAKER_01 (24:57):
Yes, in a way, yes.
SPEAKER_05 (24:59):
So it's it still
brought all the old coyote
players that were still undercontract, came with them.
So all right, is that it on thatone?
SPEAKER_02 (25:10):
That is it for that
one.
SPEAKER_06 (25:11):
Okay, Brad Marchant
has been fined five thousand
dollars, the maximum allowableunder the CBA for unswordsman
like conduct.
SPEAKER_03 (25:23):
Really?
The rat during Saturday's gameagainst the sabres.
So did you see what he did?
SPEAKER_01 (25:37):
I did not pretty
much uh Brad uh Rasmus Dolen, I
don't know why I was thinking acompletely different name, uh
kind of cross-checked Marshanfrom behind.
And Marshan kinda did not likethat, and when Dolene kind of
(26:00):
came near him, kind of trippedhim, and then just started
fighting him, like punching himon the ground and everything.
And when Marchand went to thepenalty box, he took Dolen's
helmet with him, and in thepenalty box ripped out the the
chin strap on Dolen's helmet.
SPEAKER_02 (26:20):
Yeah.
It was pretty funny.
SPEAKER_01 (26:22):
I I mean, not for I
don't think Dolene thought it
was funny.
SPEAKER_04 (26:26):
That was cor Corey
Perry-esque.
SPEAKER_01 (26:28):
Yeah, very Cori
Perry esque and everything.
Um and so he and then Iapparently Rosmus Doline had to
wear another guy's helmet justto even keep playing.
SPEAKER_06 (26:43):
So, yeah, that's
pretty much why I'm surprised he
didn't get suspended some games.
SPEAKER_01 (26:48):
So there was a
reason why we think he didn't
get suspended.
Because if you look at the netthe next note, you'll see why.
Because it's the very next game.
It was in Boston.
It was in Boston.
SPEAKER_06 (27:02):
His first time back
playing it uh in Boston since
being traded.
SPEAKER_01 (27:07):
Exactly.
So Marchand is back in Boston, first time playing in Boston
since being traded, and it wasactually the same day he
debuted, made his NHL debut forthe Boston Bruins only 16 years
later.
So October 21st, he made his uhwas it what year was it?
(27:30):
I have it right here.
Uh let's see, uh, of two uh hemade his NHL debut on October 29
or 21st, 2009.
And then on October 21st, 2025,he played his first game back in
Boston.
SPEAKER_07 (27:50):
Wow, couple of
firsts.
SPEAKER_01 (27:53):
Yeah, I that's
crazy.
And then um uh I don't know ifyou know this one, so I'm gonna
steal the next one too.
SPEAKER_06 (28:01):
I figured you were.
So he he he steals from me allthe time.
SPEAKER_01 (28:07):
Well, you don't know
what it is, do you?
No, I don't.
So last week in the was itFlorida?
Oh, I forgot who it was Floridaand someone.
I I forgot who the team was.
It doesn't really matter.
Um Florida used a challenge onthe goal.
And they wanted it, they wantedit a goal, but so the referee
(28:32):
comes out after the challengeand he goes, Alright, after
replay, we have a goal.
Oh, and then he goes, Oh, wait, wait, no, no, I'm sorry, I'm
sorry.
Due to replay, the player, Ithink it was considered offside,
no goal.
He all said it like literally,he said it was a good uh a goal,
and then he's like, Oh, wait,no, that's not right.
And he changed it like it was Iget it.
SPEAKER_06 (28:58):
You know, I think I
did see this now that you
mentioned it.
SPEAKER_01 (29:01):
Yeah, like I said, I
thought I thought it was funny
more than anything.
In Paul Maurice, they pannedhim.
Like you could tell like hewanted to be mad, but he kind of
thought it was probably funnywhat happened.
So, and then Florida ended uplosing the challenge and then
got a uh a delay of gamepenalty, yeah.
(29:21):
So I thought it was funny.
I thought it'd be funny to talkabout too.
Like I I feel for the referee.
You know, it's not something youwant like a national televis, uh
on a national televised game, and he just completely messes up
the call.
But hey, he fixed it, he got itright.
That's the main thing is you getthe call right.
SPEAKER_02 (29:43):
Alright, I'll you
you can you can take the next
one because it's prettyself-explanatory.
Alright, never mind, I'll takeit.
SPEAKER_05 (29:56):
Ottawa's put out an
eight-year contract extension on
the table for restricted freeagent Shane Pinto.
Nothing totally imminent, butthat's what's on the table for
who else but Elliot Friedman?
SPEAKER_02 (30:15):
Yep.
Yeah, I I mean I think hedeserves an eight-year contract.
He's playing out of his mindright now.
SPEAKER_05 (30:23):
I I picked him up.
SPEAKER_01 (30:25):
Oh, smart.
Smart.
Alright, and then uh next bit ofnews is the Predators send Brady
Martin back to the OHL for therest of the season.
SPEAKER_02 (30:38):
And then this next
one I have.
have it right here somewhere.
Alright.
This is as of Thursday.
SPEAKER_01 (30:49):
I I think this is
before the like the Ducks versus
Nashville and the Kings versuswhoever they played on Thursday.
I forgot.
Dallas.
Dallas.
Oh most post and crossbar hitsthis season so far.
Do you want to take a guess onwho's in the the top 10?
SPEAKER_03 (31:09):
Or top five?
I would I would be guessing it'sprobably an Anaheim duck.
SPEAKER_01 (31:16):
No no this is just
as a team.
Together all as a team.
SPEAKER_06 (31:21):
Okay the Anaheim
ducks.
SPEAKER_01 (31:22):
They're number two
with 14 crossbars in the world.
SPEAKER_05 (31:26):
You wouldn't put it
in there if it didn't have ducks
in it so that or Kings you don'tknow that they hit hit a few
today.
SPEAKER_01 (31:35):
The ducks have been
hitting a lot of crossbars and
posts I've noticed that too.
But yes I probably wouldn't haveput that the notes but um so
I'll just tell you Buffalo isnumber one at 15 Anaheim has 14
Minnesota has 14 Calgary has 12Pittsburgh has 12 Washington is
12 and all these teams have 11Carolina Florida Montreal Tampa
(32:00):
Bay and Vancouver so that's allfrom Thursday like based off of
Thursday.
It's probably changed by now butI don't have those exact uh
stats right now so you knowthat's not even a shot on goal
right it's not a shot on goal Ialready knew I knew that as a
(32:20):
goalkeeper in soccer I knew thatyeah I mean we shoot them on
they just don't go in yeah it'sonly considered a a say a shot
on goal is if it goes in or thegoalie makes a save I knew that
so Utah's Alex Kerfot Kerflet isout eight to it's been one of
(32:45):
those days it's been out eightto ten weeks after surgery on a
core muscle injury yep and thenthe Golden Knights are expected
to convert Carter Hart's PTOwith the club to a two year two
million dollar AAV contract perDarren Drager.
He's eligible to play as soon asDecember 1st and the Canadians
(33:11):
for Patrick Laney will missthree to four months after
undergoing on a core muscleinjury also.
And they've been playing prettywell without him yeah I I I
think Liney is only those likespecialty players like someone
you want on the power play andthat's it.
(33:33):
He's a goal scorer that's forsure he is a goal scorer he is
and the last bit of league newsis the Nash uh Nashville's
captain Roman Yossi is out weekto week with an upper body
injury out again yeah he's he'shad some injuries issues that's
liney too he's been injury pronea lot very very true yeah all
(33:58):
right you want to you want doyou want to start with the game
recaps or you want me to start?
SPEAKER_05 (34:02):
I'll start I think I
had the first game right
Saturday you did have the firstgame yep game take your time I
(34:24):
was moving it up instead of overso the the Kings played the the
canes didn't start out prettyeither I see that so let me
start with the scoring firstperiod um it was the Jordan
(34:47):
Stall show he got his secondfrom Carrier and Martinook at
the 12 second mark to make itone to nothing how lovely was
that and then um and then he gothis third at the 358 mark so
(35:11):
within four minutes the Kingswere down two nothing.
Uh from Riley his second andChatfield his second on a slap
shot.
So after one period two nothingKings second period holy bully
canemi scored his first from uhMiller for his first 343 into
(35:40):
the second period three tonothing so not look it was like
a kind of bleak bleak for theKings at that time and then uh
Trevor Moore got his second uhfrom Dano and Edmondson a minute
later to make it three to onethen on the power play Andre
Kuzmenko gets his second fromByfield his fourth and Kempe his
(36:02):
fourth at the 1604 mark and it's3-2 then we go to the third
period and at the 1102 markKevin Fiala get his gets his
fourth from Adrian Kempe hisfifth and we go to overtime
didn't last too long in overtimebut a minute 45 seconds in Seth
(36:26):
Jarvis gets his sixth from Ajohis sixth and Miller his second
on a wrist shot and Carolinabeats the Kings 4-3 in overtime
but being down three to nothingcoming back shows shows some
some grit Carolina really justkind of dominated this game in
(36:49):
most every category 40 shots to28 62% to 38% in the faceoff
circle.
Now the Kings were one for oneon the power play and they were
oh for three yay penalty killfinally worked um hits the kings
(37:09):
out hit him 29 to 18 block shotswere even at 2020 giveaway six
kings 21 gains 16 takeaways 6gains 7 kings 4 and then let's
go to the three stars uh AdrianKempe with two assists was the
(37:31):
third star Jordan Stahl uh withtwo goals is the second star and
Seth Jarvis scoring one goal isthe first star.
Just because I guess he got thegame winner I would have given
it to Stahl.
I mean he did I thought he didmore and that that's that game
(37:51):
uh do you want me to just keepgoing or you want to do your
next your first game?
SPEAKER_01 (37:55):
I'll do my next one.
SPEAKER_05 (37:56):
I'll do my first one
we're gonna do them in date
order then?
SPEAKER_01 (37:59):
Yeah we can do that.
I mean no I mean now our datesmatch up now after this one.
SPEAKER_05 (38:04):
Right.
SPEAKER_01 (38:05):
So but we'll just go
back and forth.
Okay we'll do it that way justgo back and forth that's fine um
so the Ducks head over toChicago and I believe this is
the first game of the five gameroad trip um did not start off
very good I mean no score forthe first two periods so pretty
(38:26):
pretty normal I guess in thesekind of games and then Frank
Nazar god that c that contracthe signed is gonna look like a
bargain by the time that's over.
He scores his third goal a yearto take it 1-0 Chicago and
that's at the 943 mark in thethird period and then Mason
McTavish scores his first of theyear oh and by the way you
(38:51):
ruined this game for me a littlebit because remember you said
what a shot by McTavish and Iwas watching this game I'm
watching this game I'm like okaywhy would my dad text me that if
you know McTavish had a niceshot and it didn't go in so I'm
just like waiting I'm like okayMcTavish is gonna score
(39:13):
obviously but God okay you hadto wait the game I had to wait
almost the whole game that wasmy whole idea it wasn't the
whole game because I was able towatch the first period and then
I had to go out on call and thencome back luckily the call the
(39:34):
call wasn't very far from methank god um but you texted me
that I'm like why why would youdo that to me I will say you've
been on call way too much I'm oncall about every five weeks
seems like you're on every weekto me God I don't want to be but
at least the overtime's nice sobut okay but what a shop on
(39:58):
McTavish like that was no it youwere right just you didn't have
to say it before I watched itand I don't know how he made
that but he did like heliterally like I think that was
the only chance of that puckgoing in was that shot.
(40:19):
I don't if he was off by like acentimeter that's not it's not
going in so the duck uh theducks tie it at the 1924 mark uh
on a power play goal by makesmtavish and then we go into
overtime and overtime did notlook pretty um leo and McTavish
(40:41):
uh are at like the end of theirshift and just did not get back
in time Chicago had like a threeon one then it was a big
scramble and then uh Bedar gotit to Donato Donato put it in
for the overtime winner duckslose in overtime we do get the
point but we lose in overtime Ijust don't like losing to
(41:03):
Chicago on the shots on goal 39to 30 in favor of Anaheim
face-off percentage we're notwinning faceoffs it was uh 56 to
44 power play one for five wegotta get more than that even
though I believe this was ourfirst first game without Kriner
(41:24):
so the the power play's been alittle off since without him but
we gotta figure it out withouthim in the lineup as well 30
hits to 28 in favor of Anaheimblock shots uh 12 to 9 in favor
of blackhawks giveaways was eventakeaways we uh Anaheim at 8 uh
(41:44):
this was the first game againstthe Chicago Blackhawks out of
three so now Chicago has a onegame lead on us on that three
stars of the game was FrankNazar with uh the one goal
Donato was the third star withone goal one assist and Spencer
Knight was I mean I would sayhe's easily the first star he
(42:07):
was the only reason why Chicagowas even in this game um yeah
Spencer Knight was the numberone star only gave up the one
that one goal which I mean likeI said it had to take a perfect
goal to beat him on that one andthat's what happened.
I mean the Ducks had 16 shots inthe first period 17 shots in the
(42:28):
second and 13 in the third andthree in overtime uh yeah he the
ducks got goalie'd in this gameso it happens yep so on to your
next game so the Kings are inSt.
SPEAKER_05 (42:42):
Louis on Tuesday the
21st and Cisco to the score for
a first time in a long time theKings take a 1-0 lead and Alex
Laferrier finally gets his firstgoal from Major in Kempe early
(43:03):
at the 147 mark to put the Kingsup one to nothing then it's kind
of quiet second period that's itin the first period there was
nothing in the second period butwith the 218 mark on the power
play Justin Fall got his firstfrom Thomas his second and Kairu
(43:26):
his third to tie the game andthen the game goes to overtime
and on the power play AdrianKenbe gets his third assists
Kuzmenko his third Fiala hissecond at 150 of the overtime
(43:47):
period for the Kings to win twoto one a little bit about the
stats Kings outshot him 2818 onthe faceoffs Kings got lost this
again they used they used to bebetter.
Of course they don't haveKopotar who's probably top five
(44:09):
in the NHL and faceoffs uh 53 to47%.
Each of them were one for threeon the power play um hits St.
Louis 20 Kings 11 blocks ninefor uh the blues 14 for the
Kings here's the the Kings keepleading the giveaways 19 to 12
(44:32):
and but they did out take uhtake away them 7 to 3 let's go
to the three stars of this gameum Jordan Bennington who made um
I think 37 saves so his goalsagainst average is 1.94 and his
save percentage was 9.29 umKemper was a second star he was
(44:57):
he had a 940 uh four savepercentage and uh goals against
of uh 0.97 and obviously thenumber one star Adrian Kempe
give him a contract please onegoal and one assist if he wants
12 million give it to him let'sgo all right on to your next
(45:18):
game Cody next game let's seewhere'd it go give me a second
while I pull it up all rightnext game right here so the
ducks head over to Nashville forgame two of the road trip and so
in this game you didn't spoil itfor me but you did say something
(45:42):
that but like I said you did notspoil this one all you were
gonna say is you're gonna laughso I didn't give anything away
no no I I didn't say you did Isaid you didn't give anything
away you didn't spoil anythingbut you just text me this this
game's gonna make you laugh sowhat this is game what number
(46:04):
let me go to my notes gamenumber six and it took us six
games to finally score the firstgoal of the game and uh if you
would have given me a millionchances to guess I still would
have never guessed who scoredthe first first goal of the game
(46:24):
for the ducks this season andthat was Ross Johnston.
SPEAKER_01 (46:29):
So Ross Johnston
scores the first goal of the
game assist from Gudis and Mintyat the 852 mark and then Tyson
Jose ties it up for Nashville sowe're tied 1-1 after one and
then Leo Carlson gets his thirdgoal of the year assist from
Truba and Cutter to take thelead in the second period but
(46:50):
then Philip Forrestberg gets hissecond of the year to tie it up
at two and then Cuttergote getshis fourth of the year on a
snapshot at the 1507 mark assistfrom Truba and so now it's 3-2
Anaheim and then we and thenBeckett Seneca also gets his
third of the year assists fromMcTavis and Johnston yep so
(47:13):
right now with this BeckettSeneca goal Ross Johnston gets a
goal and an assist not bad for ahuman trap a human traffic dog
yeah so as soon as that assisthappened I'm like uh oh I think
I know what my dad's talkingabout so now it's the Anaheim's
(47:35):
leading 4-2 um after two andthen Troy Terry scores his first
goal of the game fine uh year ofthe finally uh paling gets his
first uh point as an Anaheimduck and then Ross Johnson gets
his second assist of the gameand not only does Johnston get a
three-point night nope he toppedit off by getting the Gordy Howe
(48:01):
hat trick by getting in a fightso he had a goal an assist and a
fight to complete the Gordy Howehat trick and never would have
thought that Ross the bossJohnston was gonna be Ross the
boss that's his nicknameapparently human traffic cone no
(48:22):
hey it's fine I he proved I Ithink it was maybe a great
cronin thing with Ross the bossbut I mean he is playing better.
I mean that's what I don't thinkI've called him the human
traffic cone this season yet.
Yes you have have I have oh Ididn't think I have I thought I
(48:43):
was waiting at least all rightsomeone quote me on that if I if
I've called him the humantraffic cone this season so far
I've I didn't if anything it wasmaybe once but anything anyways
so the ducks win this game fiveto two um we outshoot the
predators 32 to 28 hey wefinally won the faceoff
(49:05):
percentage 55 to 45 0 for 5 onthe power play but like I said
we gotta fix the power play it'slooking good we gotta finish on
the power play ducks led the uhgame in hits with 23 to 16
Nashville led in block shots uh11 to 9 giveaways uh 13 for
(49:27):
Anaheim 16 for Nashville andseven takeaways for Anaheim to
Nashville's five so the duckstake uh the first game of the
season series over Nashville 5to 2 and here are your three
stars of the game Tyson Jost uhwith one goal he's the number 3
star and then Cutter Godier isthe number two star with one
(49:50):
goal one assist for two pointsand who's the number one star
you might ask the human trafficcode Ross the boss Johnston with
a goal two assists for threepoints and the Gordy Howe hat
trick that I believe that washis second career multipoint
(50:11):
game and you want to know whothe other time he had his
multipoint game was against theAnhib Ducks when he was part of
uh the Islanders there were fanswaiting outside of uh Honda
Center for him I just sent you apicture well you saw what I sent
you right yes I did like when assoon as I realized it I was like
(50:34):
okay that's funny like I saidyou didn't spoil it I will say
you did you finally didn't spoilthe game but and then as soon as
he got that assist I'm like ohcrap I know what he's saying and
yep he completed it with threepoints and the Gordy how hat
trick so you know Ross Ross goodjob you know you you get I'll
(50:58):
give you some leeway now youknow you're you're not the human
traffic cone right now butyou're Ross the boss Johnson
right now.
SPEAKER_02 (51:08):
So that completes
our second game of the week.
SPEAKER_05 (51:11):
So we'll go on to
our third game of the week and
Thursday we are in Dallasplaying the stars and we got off
to a decent start even in thisgame even though I think we were
we were kind of outplayed butscoring his first goal as a king
(51:31):
at the 1848 mark on the powerplay from uh Fiala his third and
byfield his fifth is Corey thescorey Perry I don't know if I
can get used to that so uh Kingslead after one one to nothing
and then in the second period alot of trade talk about this
(51:56):
gentleman but he's on the powerplay too Jason Robertson gets
his third from hints his sixthand Johnston his third at the
458 mark and it's one to one umin the second period then
another newbie to the Kings gothis first probably the most
(52:19):
controversial pickup of theKings Cody CC got his first from
Kempe his seventh and LaFerrierehis first make a 2-1 Kings at
the 627 mark on a slap shot butagain the penalty kill fails in
the third period and WyattJohnson gets his fifth from
Hence his seventh and ratten inhis fifth at the 232 mark on a
(52:44):
snapshot and we go to overtimein overtime man this says 37
seconds it seemed like threedays but Kempe got his fourth
from byfield to sixth to win thegame at the 37 second mark do
(53:05):
you see did you see thecelebration he did?
Yes horns down yeah you knowwhat that means right uh I don't
know what horns down I know theydo the horns up in Texas though
for like the University ofTexas.
Yes that's why it's horns downthat's why he did that he's like
not horns up it's horns down sothis is not bad for someone
(53:28):
that's from Sweden that knowsthat yeah well he's been in
America for a while yeah true soget this the guy who has a multi
point game is the third star andthe game winner Jason Robertson
is second star now I gotta say Istill would give Darcy Kemper
(53:50):
the first star.
He finally played a really goodgame um they were outplayed and
he was the difference maker inthis game just like last year
but is that gonna continue?
SPEAKER_01 (54:03):
We'll see um so
Kemper was the first star let's
go to the stats and see how badbad it really looked in the
stats Kings were outshot at 3125but in the face-off circle
without Kobitar 60 to 40 60% to40 LaFerriere uh won eight out
(54:28):
of nine byfield looked good Nanolooked good we were 33% on the
power play one for three but onthe penalty kill we were two for
five we gave up two for fivethat's forty percent that's
terrible so the hits were 1814uh stars block 16 14 kings
(54:52):
giveaways of we won that oneagain too 20 to 15 we don't want
to win that one people if youdidn't know takeaways were five
apiece so two games in a rowcould it be a winning streak
will it continue that will becontinued to next week's episode
(55:13):
on to your last game Cody allright this last game was let's
just say it's it was a game umit was the game of the backup
goalies in this one so thatshould tell you there's a hint
right there so the ducks winthis one 7-5 in Boston all right
(55:36):
so in the first period C CMiddlestad gets his third of the
year to open the game of scoringand of course the ducks continue
to give up the first goal of thegame again um and then Drew
Hellison ties it up uh to makeit one for his second goal of
the year Nestoranko gets hisfirst point of the year and
(55:59):
Granlin gets his first assist ofthe game and fourth overall in
the season so hint there.
So now we're tied one apieceafter one second period Morgan
Geeky gets his fourth of theyear to make it two on Boston
and then Cutter Gautier fifth ofthe year and then assist from
Lacombe his second and Carlsonhis fifth.
(56:22):
So what we're in what gamenumber seven right now yeah game
number seven cutter already hasfive goals if you guys remember
right cutter didn't score hisfirst goal till like what the
16th game of the year yeah butwhat did I tell you just wait no
(56:44):
I told you he's gonna go off youyou were talking about uh
McTavish and I go guy the guythat's gonna take off is is
Godier he's a goal scorer hejust has a nose for it you can
see it when he plays oh yeah ohyou could tell right away and
he's not just a shot he he's aplaymaker too yeah but I mean
(57:05):
he's gonna score goals becausehe's just got a nose for it and
I told you I told you look outhe's gonna be he's gonna be like
byfield yeah key for you guys tosucceed yeah he's the key guy
yeah so then Jacob Truber getshis first of the year Nestor
(57:25):
gets his uh second assist of thegame yeah second assist of the
game and then Granland getsanother assist his fifth second
of the game fifth of the year sonow it's three two Anaheim and
then Mason Low Right on thepower play ties it up three
apiece so now we're it's tiedthree three after two periods
and then Michael Granlin finallygets his first goal as an
(57:48):
Anaheim duck on the power playassist from Terry and Vitrano so
now the ducks lead four to threeand then Sam Kalangelo gets his
first of the year uh from Palingand Truba so now it's 5-3
Anaheim and then David Pasternakgets his fifth goal of the year
on the power play so now it's5-4 Anaheim then Geeky Morgan
(58:11):
Geeky gets his fifth of the yearso now we're tied 5-5 and that's
at the 1457 mark but then neverfear Troy Terry gets a second of
the year Nikita Nesterko getshis third assist of the game and
Granlin his third assist of thegame um so a 6-5 Anaheim and
(58:37):
then Michael Granlin on theempty net scores his second of
the game second of the year hisfifth point of the game but get
this Nikita Nessukro gets hisfourth assist of the game so the
ducks had a guy with five pointsand four points in this game and
(58:58):
I believe that was the I want tosay the first time in I don't
know how long we had a oh sinceI think 2015 that the ducks had
a guy with a five point nightand that was Michael Granland's
first career five point game soshots on goal the ducks got
completely outshot this game 42to 30 lost in the faceoffs 58 to
(59:21):
42 power play um the ducks wereone for three not bad but the
penalty kill was absolutelyhorrendous in this game I I
gotta look up I want to sayBoston in their two power plays
so that's a in two power playsthat's a total of four minutes.
(59:44):
I don't think they had more than20 seconds on the power play in
this game.
SPEAKER_02 (59:52):
Boston scored I want
to say on the first shot each
time yeah it was bad.
SPEAKER_01 (01:00:04):
Let's see the hits
uh we got out hit only by one 18
to 17 block shots we had 22 to15 giveaways we let in that 20
to 18 takeaways we only had onetakeaway to Boston's four um
Peter Mrazic uh I'm gonna talkabout you for a second hey I
(01:00:25):
know everyone has bad games butyou know it's okay to stop the
puck it's okay you can do thatthat's your job in two games
you're two oh one oh but yet
SPEAKER_02 (01:00:40):
You've given up 11
goals in two games.
SPEAKER_01 (01:00:44):
And I believe he's
at like a 878 save percentage,
which is not good at all.
I'll have to double check thatactually.
Um but it's just not very good.
I'll see if I can pull it up.
SPEAKER_02 (01:01:03):
Let's see if I can
pull up for the ducks.
Oh, he is at an eight, oh, an831 save percentage right now.
Yikes.
SPEAKER_01 (01:01:16):
Um so let's go to
the three stars of the game.
Okay.
Like I said, I never understandthe three stars of the game.
I'm gonna I'm gonna change it.
You know, I'm gonna take oneplayer out and add one player
in.
I'll keep the Poster knock onein.
He's the third star of the game.
He had a goal and assist.
We'll keep him.
(01:01:37):
Second star of the game, theyput Troy Terry for the one goal,
one assist for two points.
Yeah.
I'm gonna put Nikita Nestorenkoas a number two star.
Four assists in the game, youdeserve to be a star.
SPEAKER_04 (01:01:51):
Really?
SPEAKER_01 (01:01:51):
So, yeah.
So Troy Terry, nothing againstyou.
You you're playing great rightnow.
Thank God you're finally playingyou're you're you're getting
used to the system.
You're playing great, but I'mgonna slide Nikita Nestoranko
into the number two star, andthe number one star as obvious
is Mikhail Granlin.
Two goals, three assists forfive points.
SPEAKER_02 (01:02:13):
So good night.
Um so I know we haven't donethis yet, but who's your player
of the week?
Of this week?
Of this last week.
Okay, that's an obvious one, Iguess.
SPEAKER_01 (01:02:29):
For me, oh god,
that's hard.
Like, I've liked the way certainplayers have played.
Granlon's been picking up TroyTerry's looking a lot better
now.
I mean, even Trubas looked good.
Um McTabach has looked good.
Seneca's looked a little offlately, you know, but he's a
(01:02:51):
rookie.
That's fine.
I understand that.
I'm about to go with eitherGranlin or um the other one that
scored quite a bit.
I mean, cut coming cutterslooked great too.
Carlson is just he's a gamechanger, man.
Like, he looks so good.
Like, I'm not a stat person, Idon't know like the whole goals
(01:03:15):
for percentage, you know, goalsum like all that core C I don't
understand any of that.
I'm an eye test kind of person.
I like watching the game, seeinghow they play, but man, Cutter
and Leo are just they're they'rethey're dominating the games
when they're in.
Like you can tell what whenthey're on the ice.
I'm I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna gowith Granley because he had the
(01:03:36):
five point night.
So that's gonna be my ducksplayer of the week.
So um, but before we get out ofhere, and we uh I do wanna or
let's do the predictions first.
Yeah, I forgot about that.
Let's do predictions.
SPEAKER_05 (01:03:51):
You have three
games, I have four.
Let me just do mine real quick.
SPEAKER_01 (01:03:56):
Yep, you knock yours
out.
And we like I said, you and Iwill both vouch for each other
that we had these picks inbefore tonight's game, even
though we're both wrong.
So it's not like you're blowingit now.
Well uh everyone is gonna know.
SPEAKER_06 (01:04:14):
Okay.
SPEAKER_05 (01:04:15):
Uh Kings reads, I
have the Kings winning five
three.
Then tomorrow they're playingthe uh Blackhawks, I have the
Kings win in five two.
Then the Sharks uh win sevenfour and then against the Red
Wings 4-3.
SPEAKER_01 (01:04:33):
7-4.
Going for the touchdown, huh?
SPEAKER_05 (01:04:36):
Well, we're not
playing very good defense, so I
gotta give them some goalsbecause those they they they got
a talented offensive team.
SPEAKER_01 (01:04:45):
True.
Um the Ducks played, you know, early uh on earlier today.
I don't know why I have Sundayon there on my thing, but it's
Saturday.
Um I have the Ducks winning 3-2.
I'm obviously wrong on that one.
Uh and then Tuesday, the Duckswill play their fifth game of
the road trip.
They finish up in Floridaagainst the two-time defending
(01:05:07):
champions.
I have that one, I have themlosing that one four to three,
and then the Ducks uh come backhome on Friday on on Halloween,
and Gibson's first game backafter being traded in the
offseason, and I have the Duckswinning this one four to two.
So that those are our gamepredictions.
(01:05:28):
Um, you want to add anythingelse before any we get out of
here?
And I announce the the maskgiveaway winner.
SPEAKER_04 (01:05:35):
Oh, you have a
winner.
SPEAKER_01 (01:05:37):
Yep, so we had a
total of let's see if I can
count.
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten,
eleven, twelve, thirteen,fourteen, fifteen people.
Um uh put in for the winner.
Uh, you want you want to do youadd anything else before I
(01:05:58):
announce the winner?
unknown (01:06:01):
No.
SPEAKER_01 (01:06:02):
Alright.
So I'm gonna spin the wheelright here.
SPEAKER_06 (01:06:05):
You got a wheel
you're spinning?
SPEAKER_01 (01:06:08):
Yeah, I have a wheel
I'm spinning.

So, you know, next time you seehim and say hi, like, hey, I won
that mask because of you onRoyally Quacked.
So um, what you want to addanything else before we get out

SPEAKER_05 (01:06:59):
No, it's been a long
day.
It's late.
We're later later than we'veprobably been.

(01:09:41):
I know we got the World Seriesgoing on right now.
It's tied 1-1 right now.
SPEAKER_02 (01:09:47):
Uh who's your pick
for the World Series?
SPEAKER_05 (01:09:51):
Mine?
Yeah, it's hard to go against ateam that spends$330 million on
payroll.
SPEAKER_03 (01:09:59):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_05 (01:10:00):
Um and I you know,
I'm an angel fan first.
I don't hate the Dodgers, but Ithey they become the New York
Yankees in a way to me becausethey just keep buying everybody
up.
They bought all the pictures, they bring everybody in, they
spend all this money, and youshould win.
Um I would not cry if the BlueJays beat him.
(01:10:22):
So Wouldn't cry.
SPEAKER_01 (01:10:25):
I I I wouldn't mind
the Dodgers winning, but I know
there's certain reasons why Idon't want the Dodgers to win,
only just because of the they'resaying if the Dodgers win that
there's probably not gonna bebaseball for a while because of
the CBA, because they want asalary cap to prevent this from
happening.
Yeah, yeah, exactly.
(01:10:46):
Um but at the so this is theonly reason why I would want
Toronto to win is because Ithink it'd be funny how the
Raptors and the Blue Jays win aring ring before the Maple Leafs
do.
And if Toronto's considered, youknow, Maple Leafs more.
You know, and because theRaptors won it in 2019, and I I
(01:11:11):
just think it'd be funny if thethe Blue Jays won.
And I like Vladimir Guerrero uhJr.
and everything.
SPEAKER_04 (01:11:17):
The Blue Jays have
won two World Series.
No, no, no.
SPEAKER_01 (01:11:21):
No, I know I'm just
I know.
I'm just saying with especiallyjust with everything going on
right now with the Toronto MapleLeafs.
Yeah, that's why I think it'd befunny.
SPEAKER_05 (01:11:31):
So you think that uh
baseball is really pushing for
us, they're the only major sportthat doesn't have a salary cap.
SPEAKER_01 (01:11:40):
Yeah, uh that's what
I've heard.
I don't know if it's set instone or anything, but yeah,
that's just what I've heard.
SPEAKER_05 (01:11:46):
It would definitely
even in out of playing field.
SPEAKER_01 (01:11:49):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_05 (01:11:50):
Can you imagine?
SPEAKER_01 (01:11:51):
And I want to if
we're gonna do if if baseball
does a salary cap, they need asalary floor.
Because like teams likePittsburgh, Tampa Bay, that the
Oakland or Sacramento.
You know, make baseball well itwould be Las Vegas, hopefully a
(01:12:13):
new owner, or who knows what'sgoing on there.
But I want these teams spendingmoney to because like like if
those team like hockey, exactly.
SPEAKER_05 (01:12:25):
So you spend so much
money, but you don't have to
spend to the cap.
But yeah, it gives that that'swhat makes it overly
competitive.
That's why every night the gameis played.
Um there are very few just easygames.
I mean it might be seven to two,but it's highly competitive.
SPEAKER_02 (01:12:47):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_05 (01:12:48):
So I mean you watch
them play.
It it is.
So and if baseball could bethat, you know, there's hope for
the angels.
Maybe uh what's his name again?
Sell the team.
SPEAKER_01 (01:13:01):
That's the lo that's
the only way I'm gonna see the
Angels be better is when Artiesells it.
I I'm yeah, let's I'm I'm Idon't want to talk about that,
but um, but alright, you readyto get out of here?
I'm tired.
Yeah, I know you're tired.
Yeah, so alright.
Well, we'll see you guys nextweek on Royally Clock, and just
(01:13:21):
remember, let's go, ducks.
SPEAKER_05 (01:13:23):
Go Kings Go, see you
next week.
SPEAKER_00 (01:13:37):
Royally Clock, the
podcast goes, the Lower and
Good.
