SPEAKER_03 (01:56):
Good morning, hockey
fans, and welcome to episode
ninety of Royally Quackt.
SPEAKER_00 (02:09):
Yeah, so ninety's oh
first comic.
Kevin, good morning, guys.
Hope you had a happyThanksgiving.
We did, Kevin.
How about you?
Yes, we definitely did.
It was nice.
Even though I was on call, but Ididn't have to go out on
Thanksgiving.
(02:31):
You know, I was kind of hopingfor at least maybe one or two
just to get that double time paya little bit, but I got 15
minutes.
SPEAKER_03 (02:42):
I I don't get
anything if I work extra
anymore.
Maybe kudos points, or maybethey might feed us.
They might feed us.
Well, we got fed when I workedthat Sunday.
And we got and we got and we gotsome kudos 'cause they give
(03:02):
kudos out and it's worth money.
I think we it was only likemaybe five bucks, but I got we
got the hat.
Awesome pastrami sandwiches, onion rings and uh chili cheese
fries.
It was pretty good.
Chili cheese fries sound good.
SPEAKER_00 (03:24):
Tommy's sounds good.
SPEAKER_03 (03:28):
Yes, you know, I I
have yet, I think, to go.
I you know when I stay atgrandma's and papa's during the
week, I have yet to go there andget any food.
Shame.
SPEAKER_00 (03:41):
I'm gonna have to
make that definite in the next
week or two.
Tommy sounds fantastic.
Oh so when we used to umpirewhen we were in Chino, when we
used to umpire at the big BigLou Dreams in Chino Hills, it
was on the way home, so it waseither Baker's or Tommy's most
(04:03):
of the time.
Every once in a while, in andout.
Did we really do ever really?
We didn't do very much of in andout.
SPEAKER_03 (04:11):
No, it was mostly uh
bakers and the taco burgers at
uh bakers, and then of coursethe chili cheeseburger.
SPEAKER_00 (04:23):
Oh my gosh, yeah,
it's it's one of our favorite
places.
I used to go to we had a Tommy'sby my old job, and I used to
love it.
Uh now I don't work over thereanymore, and now I've been I
haven't had Tommy's in oh no,probably well over almost a year
and a half now.
I miss it.
SPEAKER_03 (04:42):
Might be about a
year for me.
Some I sometimes I'll stop offin Corona.
SPEAKER_00 (04:48):
Oh, that yeah,
that's the one I it used to be
my by my old work.
Yeah, yeah.
But all right, well, you readyto get into to team news?
Sure, I'll let you go first.
SPEAKER_03 (05:02):
I go first most of
the time, but that's all right.
You went, I know you did go lastweek, so yeah.
Uh first bit of King's news.
Uh, King's prospect, JaredWright joins Kings of the
Podcast on episode 252.
So take a listen, get to knowJared Wright, he's a promising
young uh forward for the Kings, and you gotta love uh Hoven and
(05:29):
Burstein, anyways, because theyjust play off each other so well
on Kings of the Podcast, and Ilove how they have um the UFC
guy uh bring him in.
It's probably my favorite intro.
Yeah, something buffet, right?
(05:50):
Um, yeah, his his brother wasthe big boxing guy, he's the big
UFC guy.
I gotta tell you, he came upwith a great line.
SPEAKER_00 (05:59):
Yeah, uh he uh Kevin
said I liked Jared on the
episode.
He was very confident, yethumble and likable.
SPEAKER_03 (06:06):
Yeah, he's a great
kid.
And hopefully he's playing upwith the uh rain now.
The rain uh this year, if youdidn't know Kings fans, so much
younger than in years past.
I mean, they still have someveteran presence there, but a
lot of their prospects are now amajority of the team is their
prospects that have been draftedor signed free agently.
(06:31):
And um, if you get a chance, goout to Ontario and watch them
play.
It's great hockey, it's fun.
It there isn't a bad seat at uhthe Toyota Arena there.
So I would I would highlyrecommend it.
We're gonna have to do thatsometime soon, too, Cody.
What do you think?
No, agreed.
We definitely need to do thatone time.
(06:52):
So yesterday we had Perry'sreturn visit to Anaheim, and um
you know, unfortunately, I I hadto train yesterday, and because
my mind was on work, I Icompletely forgot about the
game.
So I had to ask my wife, I whois the shame, hugest duck fan,
(07:15):
probably she probably should beco-hosting the ducks podcast
with Cody.
SPEAKER_00 (07:21):
Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (07:23):
Um, how how he was
welcomed back to Anaheim, and I
guess there was some kind of alittle bit of controversy that
maybe he scored, maybe hedidn't.
But when I checked today's boxscore, Edmondson got the goal
and Perry didn't.
So I'm gonna assume he did notscore in his uh time back with
(07:47):
the first time back with theKings at the pond, but he still
makes a difference.
I think he's a difference makeron the team, and I I do believe
Kings fans are starting towelcome him a little bit more
because honestly, we all want towin, and he helps teams win.
So I don't think just not in thefinal.
(08:11):
Well, he has won a final, he'sjust like one and six and and
what team was that?
Uh yeah, I don't know.
Some team that likes to fly in aV and fly in a V.
And take out the trash.
SPEAKER_00 (08:31):
No, we clean up the
trash.
SPEAKER_03 (08:34):
Well, they're taking
it out of getting it out of the
way of the goal, that's forsure.
Anyway, so Perry's return.
We'll talk about how that gameended a little bit later, but
I'm sure most of you alreadyknow.
So it was a great game, verycompetitive.
I this is one thing I want tosay about the game, but I think
the rivalry is really back.
(08:55):
Yeah, and I I've been I I was uhprobably the biggest person on
the podcast thinking that theducks could fly this year, and
boy, I I think they flew pastwhat anybody imagined so far.
So, anyways, other king's newsis Drew skated for the first
(09:19):
time since the injury.
This was on Thanksgiving, he didit on his own, and according to
uh Coach Hiller, he's not closeyet, but at least he's skating,
so that's the first uh start.
So hopefully he'll be back intwo or three more weeks.
Um, obviously that puck did somepretty damn much damage to his
(09:43):
toe, and if you've ever had aninjury in your toe or you've
ever had gout, you know howdebilitating that could be.
Yeah, if not, it's not fun.
unknown (09:53):
Yep.
SPEAKER_00 (09:54):
Uh Kevin put in the
chat.
Uh, was it just me or didyesterday's game have a playoff
game feel?
Such a great game.
These are looking like the twobest teams in the Pacific.
Um, I'd say more than lately, yes, it did, especially in like
the last few years past, itdefinitely did have more of a
(10:15):
playoff game feel.
SPEAKER_03 (10:17):
Yeah, well, I gotta
tell you, um, and I was gonna
this isn't even King's news, soum was it me?
Is uh is is Verbeek possibly aGM of the year?
I didn't even think about bringsin brings in Quinville, gets
(10:38):
Kreider, he's made some greatmoves, and um they're they're
definitely flying together,yeah.
So um I I think everybody betterwake up and smell the coffee.
I think the ducks are real, andnot that well, it makes it more
(10:59):
fun for you and I if we'recompetitive against each other
um than it was for the last fewyears because it wasn't quite as
competitive, so it'll be fun.
We'll see what happens.
I'm smelling the coffee, yeah.
There you go.
Um, and this is a little bit ofnews.
I I know that uh Turcott didplay yesterday, but he was a
(11:22):
scratch against Ottawa, but alsowas the hardest working player
in practice and was praised byCoach Hiller.
So I'm gonna tell you we want tobe any good, we've got to have
Turcott step it up.
(11:44):
Not just him.
We got it byfield's got gottastart scoring some goals.
He's only got four goals.
He's gotta start scoring, youknow.
He plays defense well, but youknow, Cody watched the game uh
because he gets off early, so hewatched it last night.
I didn't get home to almost 11,so I have not tried to watch the
(12:07):
game.
But he said, I know Byfield hadan assist in the game, but he
said he he he didn't notice himas much.
So he needs to be noticed, heneeds to pick it up.
He he those two guys might bethe two guys that could drive
this team into a a longerplayoff than first round.
(12:28):
We need those guys to pick itup.
We don't have a lot of centersin our in our uh pipeline to
come up that you know to tocompete.
The ducks have a very goodcenter lineup, I think.
Yeah, so anyways, um, and that'sking's news for this week.
(12:49):
So let's go to duck news, Cody.
SPEAKER_00 (12:52):
All right, so on to
duck news.
Um, so for the first time, Ibelieve in an angel history,
when the ducks played againstthe mammoth a couple of a week
or two ago.
Yeah, I know.
Um, against the mammoth, allfour goalies in the game were
(13:15):
all from one country, they wereall from Czechia, or I I guess
is what Gudis and them like tocall they like they prefer it to
be called the Czech Republicbecause that's what it's called.
Um, so you had Dostal andMrazic, they're both from Czech
Republic, and then on the UtahMammoth, they had uh VTEC
(13:39):
Vaniček and then um the Velka, and they're both from Czechia,
so you had all four goalies inthat game from one country.
So I'm I'm not saying all fourgoalies are from the same
country, it's the first time, but all are all from the Czech
(13:59):
Republic.
Uh it's the first time.
So I thought that was kind ofsome interesting news.
SPEAKER_03 (14:05):
They they've they've
become somewhat of a a power,
yeah.
They are very competitiveagainst the USA, Canada, and
Sweden, and all of them, yeah.
And they're not an easy win, sothey've they've definitely
picked up uh their their thetalent level there, and it's a
(14:27):
lot of incredibly good playersare coming from Czechia.
Yeah, and I know the public ifthat's what they want it to be
called.
I'll respect that, yeah.
SPEAKER_00 (14:36):
Um, I know this next
news kind of spoils a little bit
later, but um, this is whatThomas Hurdle had to say about
his uh fellow Czech teammate, uhLukasz Dostal.
I was hoping he would play thiswell in February, not now,
because of the Olympics.
(14:59):
So that's a uh just a greatcompliment uh from him.
Um, and then next up, LeoCarlson becomes the first player
in Ducks history to record 60assists at the age of 20 or
younger.
Just another record that LeoCarlson's beating right now.
SPEAKER_03 (15:21):
He's really stepped
up his game.
Yeah, I'm I am totally, totallyimpressed with that kid.
Same.
SPEAKER_00 (15:32):
So and then uh
congrats to Roger McQueen on
being named Hockey EastCo-Player of the Week after
getting two goals and threepoints against uh University of
Massachusetts uh the lastweekend.
So congrats to Roger McQueen ongetting co-player of the week.
Looks like he's finally startingto settle a little bit more now
(15:55):
in the college game.
I mean, could you really but uhhe was out for most of the
season last year?
He's going against bettercompetition.
It's probably gonna take him alittle bit longer.
Uh, I wouldn't be surprised ifhe stays another year in the
NCAA and then and then gettingbrought up because I I know next
(16:15):
year, after this season, hecould go to the AHL because
he'll be overage.
He'd be at the right age to beable to go to the age straight
to the AHL.
Plus, he doesn't have that a uhthe Canadian juniors where you
have to be if you don't make theum the big club, you can't play
(16:36):
in the AHL, like with Green Treeand Seneca that we thought we
were gonna have this year.
That won't be McQueen's problembecause he's coming for the
NCAA.
Uh, and then Kevin said, agreedon Leo, he's going to make us
Kings fans sad for over adecade.
I hope it's a lot longer than adecade.
No offense.
(16:59):
Um last bit of news is some sadnews for the Ducks fans, and I'm
pretty sure we all already heardabout it.
Um, but Lukash Jostal is out.
Oh, actually, I need to updatethis.
Oh, where'd it go?
I didn't update that one.
There it is.
Uh Lucas Stillstall has an upperbody injury and will be out two
(17:20):
to three weeks.
Um, so the ducks did call upVili Husso, and you'll hear that
name later.
So um, yeah, not good news youwant to hear.
I I don't know, there's no wayof telling how he got the
injury.
Um, they didn't say, but I meanan upper body injury.
(17:42):
Let's just hope he comes back, you know, completely healthy
within those two to three weeks, and the ducks can keep flying
like they are right now.
SPEAKER_03 (17:51):
Well, let's go on to
league Dallas Stars forward Miko
Ratnan has been suspended onegame for boarding flames forward
Matt Coronado.
The one game suspension isautomatically utilized in
accordance to with Rule 23.6 ofthe NHL rule book stating that a
(18:13):
two that two-game misconduct anda 41-game span results in a
one-game suspension.
Ratness Ratnan previouslyreceived a game misconduct in a
November 18th game against theIslanders.
So that's not a name you wouldexpect to be doing something
(18:38):
like that.
SPEAKER_00 (18:38):
Yeah, especially
back to back.
I didn't even know that was evena rule.
Um, but real quick, Adam, I willanswer your question that you
sent me later.
I'll answer that that one later.
Um, but uh no, I I didn't evenknow that was a rule where if
you get two get make get twogame misconducts within 41
games, it's an automaticone-game suspension.
(19:01):
The first one I'll give him moreof a pass on, um, just because
you could tell he was kind oftripped, but I mean he still
could have held up a little bit,but the second one was bad.
So um, I think the one gamesuspension is pretty deserving.
So, but yeah, uh really nothingelse to add on that.
(19:23):
Um, let's see.
Next bit of news is um speakingof written in uh game
misconduct, the first one wasagainst the Islanders defenseman
Alexander Ramon Romanoff, andbecause of that hit, he will
miss the next five to six monthswith a shoulder injury.
So it looks like he's probablyout for the rest of the season
(19:46):
with that injury.
SPEAKER_03 (19:52):
Yeah, it's my turn.
I know.
Sorry.
Um, Montreal have signed UFAforward Alexander Tessier to a
one-year, one million contract.
Recently had deal terminatedwith the St.
Louis Blues.
We've seen a bit a bit of themovement on those on different
(20:14):
players this this uh part of theyear.
I think there's a maybe one ortwo more in our notes, maybe.
Uh it was a lot more.
SPEAKER_00 (20:23):
They were last year,
uh last week.
Oh, last week, okay.
Yeah, it was um not it was um ohgod, what was his name?
I forgot the guy's name already.
Um but um the price on RyanO'Reilly, if the predators
decide to move him later thisseason, would be a first round
(20:46):
pick plus uh uh a level aprospect.
So the predators want somethingbig in return for uh Ryan
O'Reilly.
Okay, I mean he's a a a gooddecent cap hit, it's not too
much, I think it's like four anda half million a year.
You got someone that could winface-offs, has leadership
(21:10):
quality, can do well in theplayoffs.
So, but I mean, I think he'swhat 35 though, so yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (21:19):
How much how much
you want to pay for a guy in the
twilight end of his career, ofcourse.
SPEAKER_00 (21:23):
And and you'll have
him for this year and next year.
SPEAKER_03 (21:27):
So, yeah, so Scott
Wedgewood has been added to
Canada's list for potentialOlympic participation per Darren
Drigger.
He's played well, I think he hasthe most wins in hockey, right?
SPEAKER_00 (21:48):
Uh, as of right now,
I believe, yeah.
Uh, but you know, I 100% agree,Adam.
I don't think he he's worth thatprice.
Agreed.
SPEAKER_03 (21:56):
Yeah, but if you're
on the cusp, he could be the guy
that put you over that anotherhe's a good player still, yeah.
But that's a big price, I agree.
I don't know if I'd want to paythat.
SPEAKER_00 (22:09):
Yeah, no, uh, but
Scott Wedgewood's God, he's
played very great this year.
Um, I would say he's probablythe top, he's either the
favorite or the runner up forthe Vesna right now.
Yeah, I know I have him on myfantasy team.
I honestly I have not paid anyattention to that.
(22:32):
Every week I just hit quicklineup, and I don't even know
who's injured or who's not, so Iprobably should get better at
that.
SPEAKER_03 (22:39):
I I do the quick
lineup too, I do try to watch it
when I can, but a lot of times Ido forget.
But I've got a I've I've got I Idrafted a pretty great team and
I've made some few moves.
I think I'm setting pretty rightnow, so I'm not too worried
about that.
SPEAKER_00 (22:55):
Yep, and then uh
next up is the Flames have
signed general manager CraigConroy to a multi-year extension
per Elliott Freeman.
I mean, they already signed Hut,they signed Huska.
They you know they've got theygot Wolf signed long term, so I
I think they're just trying andCraig Conroy's, I think, done a
decent job there.
SPEAKER_03 (23:16):
Yeah, I think it's a
two-year extension from what I
uh read other places.
SPEAKER_00 (23:20):
Okay, I did not know
that.
SPEAKER_03 (23:22):
Yeah, I I saw it
somewhere this morning when I
was doing a little bit ofresearch.
So okay, then the MontrealCanadians have claimed forward
Sammy.
Is that Blaze Blaze off waiversfrom Toronto?
I know I saw that he was put onwaivers.
Toronto previously claimed Blazefrom Montreal in October.
(23:46):
Oh, so he's just going back andforth, back and forth, back and
forth.
Yep, sort, sort of like thatfickle teenage girl on dating
two different guys.
SPEAKER_00 (23:55):
So wow, that took a
turn.
Um, speaking of Montreal, thethey have signed defenseman Mike
Matheson to a five-year sixmillion dollar AAB contract
extension.
There, there was rumblings aboutum extension with him, they just
didn't know how much or howlong, but it's it's done, it's
(24:16):
signed, and they have uh theKenny's have Matheson signed for
five years for six million ayear.
Good little deal, yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (24:27):
The Vancouver
Canucks would want a young
prospect or at least a secondround pick for Kiefer Sherwood.
SPEAKER_00 (24:37):
I guess that seems
more reasonable than the Ryan
O'Reilly one.
SPEAKER_03 (24:42):
Absolutely more uh
or the the or was the big part
of that one.
Yeah, it was head is isn't heone of he isn't he their goal
scoring leader or pretty closeto it?
SPEAKER_00 (24:54):
He is their leading
hits and leading goals leader
right now, and those are twothings most teams want.
Yep, and he already he broke thehits record last year by like a
a lot.
So if you want someone that'sjust gonna hit everything in
sight, call Vancouver and scoregoals, and yeah, yeah, he's
(25:16):
scoring goals.
SPEAKER_03 (25:17):
That's just a bonus.
Second second round pick soundslike it might be worth it to me.
What do you think, Cody?
SPEAKER_00 (25:25):
Um, for the ducks,
no, but I can see for other
teams, yes.
I was talking in general, Cody.
Oh, in general, then yes.
SPEAKER_03 (25:38):
Sorry, I'm just
trying to think of my team
first.
Well, your team right now seemsto have good continuity.
Why would you want to change it?
Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_00 (25:48):
All right, and then
um Jack Roslovic's injury is
worse than expected, and he willmiss at least a couple of weeks.
There is no information on whatinjury it is, um, but it looks
like he's gonna be out a couplemore weeks.
SPEAKER_03 (26:04):
I guess Kasperi uh
Kapanen could also be out for a
few weeks.
SPEAKER_00 (26:09):
Yeah, and then also
Jake Woolman is out uh Saturday,
so today.
Um, but he could play soon.
I hope so because I have himtoo.
SPEAKER_03 (26:22):
I'll Islanders
forward Kyle Palmeri will miss
six to eight months afterundergoing surgery for an ACL
tear in his left knee.
But before he got off the ice,he stole the puck, made a pass,
and got an assist and a goal ashe was exiting the arena.
(26:43):
Yeah, and this was after he gotinjured.
SPEAKER_00 (26:47):
Absolutely after he
got injured.
He literally uh stick lifted theguy's stick, stole the puck,
passed it over.
He got the secondary assist onthe goal, and then he you could
just the whole time he just hepassed it off and then just
continued to go to the bench andback to the locker room.
So I'm like, wow, that is a veryhockey thing to do.
(27:08):
You get injured and you're stillplaying, you don't quit on your
team, even when you suffer anACL tear on your knee.
SPEAKER_03 (27:16):
Remind reminds me of
Kobe hitting two free throws
after tearing his Achilles, andhe did it without looking like
he was in pain at all.
SPEAKER_00 (27:27):
Yeah, unlike um you
know, no, I was gonna say Labum
James um got hit in his eye andthen kind of get escorted out in
a wheelchair and even Adam 100hockey player move right there.
Yeah, I don't know if you ifanyone else saw, but it was it
was great, it was a great littleplay.
SPEAKER_03 (27:49):
You know who I don't
know anybody who wouldn't want a
kid like Kyle Palmeri on theirteam.
SPEAKER_00 (27:55):
Honestly, I missed
him at after we traded him.
I I've missed him.
SPEAKER_03 (28:01):
I've kept an eye on
him his whole career.
He's just one of those guys Ilike to watch play.
He's not a superstar, but boy,he helps teams win.
And he does everything he needsto to help you win, so you gotta
love a guy like that.
SPEAKER_00 (28:18):
Yeah, superstar
versus half a star.
I just love that reference inthe longest yard.
All right, uh, you ready to gointo game recaps?
Sure.
All right, I'll start since Ihave more games, and then we can
combine the last two together.
SPEAKER_03 (28:42):
Well, my last game
and your last game.
SPEAKER_00 (28:45):
Yeah, that's what I
meant.
SPEAKER_03 (28:46):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_00 (28:47):
Okay, so um
understood.
But and by the way, I do want tomention I nailed this prediction
to the T.
I guess the winner, and I gotthe score right.
Are we talking about the GoldenKnights game?
Yes, we're talking about theGolden Knights game.
unknown (29:08):
Okay.
SPEAKER_00 (29:09):
Hold on.
I'm good.
Sorry about that.
Are you allergic to success?
Oh that's something I would behappy allergic to.
Uh um, but the ducks win in atthe pond against uh you know the
(29:32):
people that we hate over inVegas.
Um we won this one in overtimefour to three.
And it was just another gamewhere we give up the first goal,
we give up the lead right away, but the decks do come back.
So let's go into the scoring.
And this is all in the firstperiod, right here.
(29:52):
Shea Theodore um gets a scoringstart in in this game, gets his
third goal of the year, and thenBraden uh Bowman gets his fourth
of the year to make it 2-0 uhVegas, and then Jackson Lacomb
gets a scoring started for theDucks, gets his second of the
year assist from Seneca andGauthier.
(30:14):
That was Seneca's ninth assistand Gauthier's 13th assist.
So now it's 2-1 Vegas, andthat's at the 743 mark, and then
Olin Zellweger, another uh D-mangoal.
Um, he scores his third of theyear, Terry his 18th assist of
the year, and Truba's ninthassist.
So now we're tied at 1817 mark.
(30:36):
So quick scoring with the ducksright there, right, right there,
and then almost 10 minuteslater, Thomas Hurdle on the
power play gets his ninth of theyear.
So now it's three to two Vegas, and that's all in the first
period.
All right, all right, just sayit.
All right, the the God.
(30:57):
I love you, I love you, Adam.
Um Adam put in the chat.
Uh just say it the goldencheaters.
There you go.
Uh I'm just reading, mom.
I'm just reading the quote, thethe comment, but I agree 100%.
Um, Troy Terry gets us uh tiesit up 3 3 in the second period
with his seventh goal of theyear, Leo Carlson's 18th assist,
(31:19):
and Lacomb's eighth assist.
So now we're tied 3-3, and thatwas a 1350 mark in the second,
and then we had no scoring atall in this uh after that, and
even in the third period, noscoring, and then we go into
overtime again against the theVegas Golden Cheaters is what
(31:43):
Adam called it.
Um it's it goes back and forth, but you could tell Vegas just
completely dominated uh theovertime, and then um the newly
signed Mitchell Marner for theVegas goes behind the net and
just coughs up the puck straightto Cutter Gautier, and cut and
(32:03):
cutter grabs it and just slidesit five-hole on uh Akira Schmid,
and that's the game winner.
So the ducks come from behindagain, and that was Cutter's
13th goal of the year, unassisted, and the ducks win it
in overtime four to three.
Like I said, I called thefour-three win.
(32:23):
Hallelujah! I'm the best.
No, I'm just kidding.
Um, I'm just happy I called it.
Um, but uh at during this game, they did have a watch party at
the Noble Aleworks.
Um, go follow the Mighty DucksClub and follow the Halos in the
Mfield.
They've been doing some live uhwatch games there.
Um, go check it out.
(32:45):
Um, but yeah, just because I'mprobably gonna be doing one
soon.
It's not set in stone yet, butkeep an eye on it.
Um, Adam says that was thesweetest no-look goal I've ever
seen.
Yeah, I agreed.
I I think Cutter just grabbed itand just shot it.
So, and then we'll move on tothe stats.
(33:07):
Um, the ducks outshot Vegas 33to 32.
Um, the face-off percentage isstill horrible for the ducks.
Uh, we had 33.9 percent, Vegashad 66.1.
Um, Vegas was one for four onthe power play.
We were oh for two.
We did out hit Vegas 19 to 15.
Uh block shots 20 to 14 in favorof Vegas, and the ducks have
(33:31):
officially won the season seriesthis year again because we only
play Vegas three times thisyear, and we won the first two
games in overtime with exactscore four to three both times.
And your three stars of thegame.
Uh Lukash Dostal was the numberthree star uh with a 906 save
percentage and a 281 goalsagainst average.
(33:54):
Uh Cutter Gaudier was the numbertwo star with one goal, one
assist for two points.
And your number one star wasJackson Lacomb with one goal,
one assist for two points.
And that is it for our firstgame of the week.
SPEAKER_03 (34:10):
Now, this was a
different kind of week,
hockey-wise fans.
Let me tell you, we played on uhwhat Monday and Friday, yeah,
because of the holiday, yeah.
Well, you know, when the kingsin Ottawa get together, it seems
like it's this total defensivebattle because the prior game in
(34:34):
Ottawa, that was a one-nothinggame.
So to go to the scoring inMonday's game, we go to the
third period, and slow startingWarren Fogle got us fourth from
Armia, his sixth, and Edmondsonhis eighth to put the kings up
(34:58):
one to nothing at the 531 mark.
But Fabian Zetterland scored histhird from Matt and Paulo his
third, and Jensen is fifth atthe 1049 mark to tie the game.
We go to overtime, and BrandClark on the power play gets his
(35:20):
third from Edmondson his ninth, and Perry his sixth at the uh
1350 mark of the third period.
And we don't go to overtime, andwe win a game in regulation.
Kings fans don't be shocked, don't pass out.
They actually won a regulationgame.
(35:43):
So let's let's let's go to thestats.
We got out shot by Ottawa 28-22.
Um, the hits were um, we wereout hit 22 to 14, outblocked 14
to 8.
Giveaways were tied at 12, andthey had four takeaways.
(36:04):
We had two.
Let's go to the three stars ofthe game, and we had an all
kings three stars of the game.
It was Warren Fogle with uh onegoal as the third star, Darcy
Kemper, the second star with uh964 save percentage and 1.01
(36:28):
goals, uh goals against average, and the number one star Brand
Clark with the game-winninggoal.
Well, we're done with Monday.
I'll be back when we get toFriday.
SPEAKER_00 (36:46):
Yeah, all right.
So the Ducks, this was probablythe first game all year where I
feel like the Ducks should havewon but lost.
Um, so the Ducks hosted theVancouver Canucks for the first
time this year.
Um, the Ducks lose this one fiveto four in embarrassing fashion.
(37:08):
Um Linus Carlson got the scoringstart in this game.
So again, the ducks give up thefirst goal, and not just the
first goal, second goal.
Um, but Leo Carlson got uh notLeo Carlson, Linus Carlson got
his fourth of the year uh to getthe scoring started, and then
Evander Cain, who we all can'tstand.
Um, he got a power play goal, his fourth of the year, and now
(37:31):
it's 2-0 Vancouver, and that wasafter the first period, and then
Jackson Lacomb again gets thescoring started for uh Anaheim
on a power play assist fromCoder Gautier.
So that was Lacombe's third goalthe year, and the Cutter
Gautier's 14th assist, so it's2-1 Vancouver, and that was at
(37:52):
the nine-second mark in thesecond period, and then uh
someone who I would love to haveon my team, but I hate playing
against is Connor Garland.
Um, honestly, this was just anice little play.
He just stole the puck, embarrassed Drew Hellison, and
then embarrassed uh Morazzick inthis game.
(38:12):
I mean, there wasn't reallynothing Morazzick really could
have done much on this, um, justgreat stick handling on
Garland's part.
Uh, but that was Garland's sixthgoal of the year, so it's 3-1
Vancouver.
And then Leo Carlson at the16-19 mark gets his 12th goal of
the year.
Troy Terry's 19th assist andZellweger's fifth assist of the
(38:34):
year.
Uh, made it 3-2 uh Vancouver ona back-handed shot.
And then what a this just tellsyou how much Becca Seneca is
maturing in this game already.
Um makes the McTavish scores hisfifth goal the year, but this
goal does not happen withoutLacomb and Seneca.
(38:56):
Lacomb uh got the puck out ofthe D zone uh and got it to
McTavish.
McTavish slid it over to Seneca, and Seneca just kind of like
hesitated and he looked like hewas in a shoot, and then just
slid it over.
And McTavish had a wide opennet, wide open net.
It was it was a beautiful play.
(39:17):
Um, so now we're tied 3-3.
Um, going into the third period.
Like I said, all around greatplay.
And then the third period, MaxSasson scores for Vancouver to
make it 4-3, and that was on atip-in shot at the 1558 mark,
and then the and the duckspulled a goalie, and Drew
(39:39):
O'Connor scores his seventh yearon the empty netter, so it's 5'3
uh Vancouver.
But then Cutter Gaudier gets onegoal uh at the 1953 mark on a
tip-in shot.
That was his 14th goal of theyear.
Lacomb's 10th assist andKreider's sixth sixth assist of
the year.
The ducks fall 5-4 in overtime, but the real like robbery of
(40:05):
this of this game was Troy Terrynot getting a goal.
Troy Terry, I want to say, hitabout four posts this game, and
and and fours maybe like beinglike generous or not like or not
generous.
Like, I want to say we I want tosay the ducks hit at least six
or seven posts, and Terry hitabout four or five of them.
(40:27):
It was just one of those kind ofgames.
Um, but the ducks fall to thisuh first game of the season
series against the VancouverCanucks.
And when now we'll go to thestats.
The Ducks completely outshotthem 41 to 28.
Uh, the Ducks finally, I want tosay this is either the first or
second time the Ducks have won aface-off percentage.
(40:48):
Um, the Ducks had 50.8 toVancouver's 49.2.
The Ducks had six power playgoal, uh, sorry, six power play
chances, but only scored once.
Vancouver had uh three chancesand only scored once.
And by the way, there was thatone call in this game where the
guy completely cross-checkedMcTavish from behind, like
(41:12):
blatantly.
They called the cross-check, butthen they called McTavish for
embellishment.
And I'm sorry, but when you gettwo-handed, stick to straight to
the back, you're gonna go downwhen you're not expecting it.
And they called him forembellishment.
It it was just a let's just saya BS call on that one.
(41:32):
Um, but the hits um we outhitthem 15 to 13, and Morazic, like
I said, well, he was he wasgreat this game.
The all the goals were scoredlike in weird ways, like tip in
or just an unlucky bounce offthe boards.
Um, but morazzic had 23 saves on27 shots, and then Tulapilo was
the goalie for Vancouver, hesaved 37 shots on 40 out of 41.
(41:59):
Even mom says that uh that was aBS call, so even mom agrees with
me on that one.
SPEAKER_03 (42:05):
Okay, so um, here's
a question to both of you what
does BS stand for?
SPEAKER_00 (42:13):
Um, you want me to
say it right now?
I will say it.
Not really, but I just thoughtit would be funny.
SPEAKER_03 (42:20):
You you asked, I
will say it.
Well, mom capitalized BS, so ifyou want to say it, I guess it's
okay with her.
SPEAKER_00 (42:30):
All right.
Um we'll go to the three starsreal quick.
It says it means full.
Let's move on.
Um, Jackson Lacomb is the thirdstar of the game with one goal,
two assists for three points.
Uh Sassin was the number twostar for Vancouver, uh, with one
goal, one assist for two points.
And then Troy Terry was thenumber one star with uh zero
(42:53):
goals, one assist for one point.
But like I said, um Troy Terryjust it was a Troy Terry game,
and he just was completelyunlucky.
Oh, here we go.
Uh there's a lot of uh a lot ofhockey goals, not much can be
done about those.
Yeah, like I'm not blamingMrazic for that for that loss at
(43:14):
all.
Well, bull snarky.
There you go, dad.
There's your I know BS CaptainChaos strikes again.
Mom says, I know you I know whatyou want.
I mean, we are allowed like somecussing words before we go into
like explicit territory, so butif I'm gonna use it, I want to
(43:36):
use it for like a good reason, you know.
Okay, so all right, you I'm I'mgood with that.
All right, you're ready to gointo um and I'm I'm not gonna
take uh credit for this.
Um, but the late arrivals theyput as their newest episode
title, they recorded last night.
Um, last night, yesterday wasnot Black Friday, it is now
(44:00):
called Orange Friday.
Orange Friday.
I'm not gonna take credit forthat.
But it was them.
I'm not gonna take credit forit.
So I want everyone to know.
But you read it again to thisgame.
It was a great game, it was agreat game.
SPEAKER_03 (44:19):
The rivalry is back,
people.
It definitely is.
SPEAKER_00 (44:24):
Yeah, so you want to
talk about your first period
goal?
SPEAKER_03 (44:29):
Sure, I guess I
could take that one at least.
Um, in the first period, thekings uh at the 1748 mark go up
one to nothing on AlexLaFerrier's sixth goal from
Morris fifth, and Doomlin hisfourth on a tip-in shot.
So after one period, it wasKings one, ducks nothing.
(44:54):
Then we go to the second period.
SPEAKER_00 (44:57):
Yep, and then that's
when Chris Kreider ties it up on
the power play for your AnaheimDucks, and it was a quick power
play goal.
It was a great overall play fromTroy Terry.
He just waited for Kreider andCarlson to crash the net and
just found an open seam.
Kreider blocked out.
I want to say it was MikeyAnderson from uh getting in
(45:19):
front of him, and Kreider waswide open and was just a great
uh tip in play.
Uh, so Kreider gets his 11th ofthe year on the power play, Troy
Terry his 20th assist, and LeoCarlson's 19th assist.
And uh, here's from Adam.
It was a great stress-filledgame for both teams.
No, actually, that's a great wayof putting it.
SPEAKER_03 (45:41):
It's no doubt about
that.
It was definitely like I said, that's what the rivalry is
definitely back.
SPEAKER_00 (45:49):
Mom says it's my new
favorite Orange Friday thing to
do.
I agree.
I just wish I could have watchedit live and not get it spoiled
for me.
So, you want to talk about thenext goal?
SPEAKER_03 (46:02):
Well, the Kings then
take the lead at the 10 03 mark
on a goal from Kevin Fiala, histenth from Quentin Byfield is
14th, and Brad Clark is eighthon a snapshot, and the Kings go
up two to one.
SPEAKER_00 (46:20):
And here's Kevin.
Finally, a Kings game.
I didn't want to fall asleepduring.
Thanks, Ducks.
That how true is that?
SPEAKER_03 (46:30):
I mean, it we
haven't been playing very
exciting hockey.
We we're not scoring goals.
I know some of our guys aren'tplaying that well yet.
SPEAKER_00 (46:44):
We're in second
place, yeah, two points behind
the ducks, who are scoring goalsto me, it seems like at a range
of giving up goals and giving upa lot of goals, to be honest.
SPEAKER_03 (46:56):
Well, yeah, but that
what do you want to see when you
go to a hockey game?
SPEAKER_00 (47:02):
Goal goals from my
from from just my team.
I want to see 30 to nothingducks every single no, I'm just
kidding.
SPEAKER_03 (47:11):
Yeah, and if it was
Christina, she could care less
about the goals and just havethem be fighting.
SPEAKER_00 (47:16):
Oh, yeah, she would
just I hopefully they bring one
of those like hockey fighting uhlike boxing matches that we uh
we talked about before, and justthey need to have one at the
pond, and there's I'll takeChristina to one of those.
Um, but so we had these threegoals in the second period, all
(47:38):
within pretty much two minutesof each other.
Boom, boom, boom.
So you had the Kreider goal atnine minutes, and then the Fiala
goal at 1003, and then OlinZellweger ties it up with his
fourth goal of the uh of theseason, Alex Klorn his seventh
assist, and Carlson his 20thassist.
And so we were tied 2-2 at the11-02 mark on a wrist shot from
(48:00):
Olin Zellwegger.
Um, and here's Adam.
Uh, the Ducks Brock has said itright.
This team just knows how toscore.
I agreed, they do.
SPEAKER_03 (48:11):
Yeah, totally unlike
last season.
SPEAKER_00 (48:14):
Yeah, uh it's
amazing when you happens when
you actually have a a coach thatknows what he's doing.
Yeah, that is that is a dig atum what's his name last year?
He's no, we don't talk, we don'tsay his name on this podcast
anymore.
Oh, yes.
I I'd rather say Beetlejuicethree times, I'd rather say
(48:35):
Voldemort, I'd rather sayDolores Umbridge than that other
that one guy.
Now you've made me sad justhearing those three names.
Yeah, you're welcome.
You well, you brought youbrought you said the the name I
didn't want to hear, and you yousaid it.
SPEAKER_03 (48:53):
I might say it again
if you're not careful.
SPEAKER_00 (48:56):
Well, I'll keep
Dolores Umbridge, Dolores
Umbridge, Dolores.
All right, let's talk about yournext two goals in the third
period.
Well, give it away.
Why don't you the game alreadyhappened?
SPEAKER_03 (49:14):
So in the third
period at the 323 mark, Alex
Turcott finally gets his firstgoal of the season from Brand
Clark his ninth, and Doomlin hisfifth on a tip in shot, and the
Kings take a 3-2 lead.
Three minutes and 30 secondslater, Joel Edmondson gets his
(49:36):
second from Anderson his fifth, and Trevor Moore his sixth on a
slap shot.
That's the one I think they gavePerry possibly the goal, but it
got pulled back to yeah, that itwas it was the Edmondson goal
that uh and and that's the onewhere that Perry was thought to
(49:57):
maybe tip it, but after reviewum or the players talking about
it, it ended up being anEdmondson goal, and that put the
kings up four to two.
SPEAKER_00 (50:08):
Um, Kevin does bring
up a good point here.
Are we allowed to say NeilBrown's name?
He is Voldemort level two, andhonestly, he has a good point
because he has cursed both teamson this podcast.
So we will now refer to him asVoldemart.
(50:31):
Kevin, that is a great point, and then Adam says, How can you
give it away?
The graphics already give itaway.
Which, how does the graphicslook?
Please tell me they lookamazing.
They look great.
I think they that's a fantasticjob, Cody.
SPEAKER_03 (50:48):
Thank you.
SPEAKER_00 (50:48):
I like doing these
things, they're fun.
All right, but let's now move onto the scoring where the ducks
tie it up because obviously wesee it, and thank you, Kevin.
I appreciate it.
Um, but Pavel Minchikov gets hisfirst of the year to make it
four or three Kings.
That was Seneca's 11th assist ofthe year, and McTavish's 11th
(51:09):
assist of the year, and that wasat the 1042 mark.
And great play by Seneca, hesees Pavel wide open in the
slot, and honestly, like I don'tknow how Minty really got the
puck off because it the puck wasjust moving and moving.
Um, and uh it was just a weirdplay all together, and you know,
(51:32):
Minty got it off, so it looksgood.
It was a great, uh, great goal, and then Leo Carlson ties it up
at the 1820 mark, uh 29 mark inthe third.
Lacomb his 11th as this of the11th assist of the year, and
McTavish's 12th assist, and sonow we're tied 4-4 after three
(51:54):
periods.
Um, and I like what Adam says.
The ducks side looks amazing, the Queen side needs a logo
revamp again.
Oh, actually, hold on.
Before we get into overtime, Idon't know if you noticed this,
but the kings were wearing theirsilver helmets with the away
jerseys.
Have they been doing this thewhole year now?
(52:16):
I'm not sure.
I haven't paid, I don't payattention to the helmets.
SPEAKER_03 (52:20):
I'm watching the
players.
SPEAKER_00 (52:22):
I I'm curious now.
Like, have the kings beenwearing their silver jerseys
away now, or was that justbecause it was against the
ducks?
SPEAKER_03 (52:31):
I'm curious.
SPEAKER_00 (52:33):
I think they should
have been in black and black
against orange, but then again, especially for black Friday, or
I mean orange Friday.
Well, black or orange Friday, either one, or both.
Orange is the new black.
SPEAKER_03 (52:48):
There you go.
Yeah, we already said that lastweek.
I know somebody smart said itfirst.
Yeah, you're welcome.
I said it.
No, no, you didn't.
I did.
So I you watched the game, Cody.
What happened in overtime?
SPEAKER_00 (53:09):
Um, honestly, there
was a couple times where I
thought the kings were gonna winit, but who so say saved us, I
would say, on a couple plays, you know, it was the typical
like back and forth.
I would say this was more backand forth than we've normally
seen in overtime, especiallywith these with the especially
with the kings, is the kingsaren't really like a back and
forth kind of team.
(53:31):
Um, both teams had theirchances, um, and everything.
I would say Kings, I would say Iwould say had more chances in
overtime than the ducks did.
So um it was fun.
Uh oh, and then here, oops, uhsee.
Uh, this was the second time, possibly second straight, where
(53:52):
they wore their silver bucketswith the road white.
I honestly I like the silverhelmets more with the white
jerseys than I did with the newalternate jerseys.
And then mom says, uh, don'tforget to talk about Lacomb and
his defense.
He saved a couple of uh a coupleof goals, and a couple times he
played played over two minutes.
Yeah, that's true.
(54:12):
I I there was one I think wherewho's so was down and out, and
Lacomb stopped the puck fromgoing into the net.
Um, but like I said, it it was agreat game.
Like I said, a couple of thegoals I think who so could have
stopped, but who so also madesome fantastic saves in this
game that kept the the ducks init.
(54:34):
Like I wanna say there was liketwo like one-timers that Husso
had to go from one side to theother and made just fan just
made a fantastic save.
Um oh here it is.
Umso stood on his damn head andthen some.
That was from Adam.
And mom also said our specialteam played the whole time, too.
Yeah, on that one of the powerplays, the ducks literally our
(54:57):
PP1 team literally played thefull two-minute power play.
And just kept we just couldn'tget the puck.
Uh we just kept the kings hemmedin in their own zone the whole
time, and just we but I don'tthink we I don't think we put it
in the net on that one.
No, we had no power play goalson that one, so but I would say
over time was both I would sayboth teams have their chances,
(55:19):
but I think the kings had betterchances.
Then we go to what the shootout, right?
Yeah, and then we go into theshootout.
Uh Leo Carlson, Leo Carlson wentfirst, and he had Kemper beat,
but just lost possession of thepuck.
Um, so Leo Carlson did not scoreon that one.
(55:40):
Um, let me just tell you whatbecause I watched it.
SPEAKER_03 (55:43):
You watched it.
I'm gonna let you keep goingwith it because I don't know
what happened.
SPEAKER_00 (55:48):
Uh yeah, Kevin Fiala
went next, and Kevin Fiala
actually beat Huso, but he didnot beat the net.
He hit the post.
Yeah, he had Husso beat and hehit the post.
Honestly, it was a great shot byFiala.
Just you know, but just he beateveryone but the post.
SPEAKER_03 (56:07):
Yeah, that happens a
lot to us.
Yeah, so we do a lot.
We hit the post more than we hitthe net.
SPEAKER_00 (56:13):
Yeah, um, and then
Troy Terry comes in and scores,
you know, in Troy Terry fashion.
Great, uh great goal, uh, on theshootout goal.
So the ducks are up one-nothinguh in the shootout, and then
Adrian Kempe comes in.
I can't remember what he did.
I can't believe if he missed orhe he shot it right.
SPEAKER_03 (56:36):
I did see uh a
little bit of a replay on uh NHL
network, and he shot it right atlike the five-hole in whoso made
the save.
I did see that one, yeah.
SPEAKER_00 (56:47):
And then Mason
McTavish uh to seal the game,
put it again, five-hole uh uh onthe on the goalie on a shootout.
He I would say Mason McTavish,he might be one of the best
shootout guys in the league now.
I think it's probably him andZgress right now.
SPEAKER_03 (57:06):
Because I could tell
you, you know, Camp Bay's pretty
good, Fiala's good, but afterthat, we don't have anybody that
can shoot.
SPEAKER_00 (57:14):
Yeah, I mean, I mean
nobody that do well, I think.
I don't know how he is with theshootout.
Um, but mom says, uh, he gotbetter as the game went on.
I I I I think she's talkingabout uh Vili Husso, and 100%
agree he did get better as thegame got on.
Uh mom also said, uh, love thatgoal, and she did send that
(57:37):
picture of uh McTavish puttingit between uh Kemper's pads for
that shootout win.
So the ducks win in a shootoutfor the first uh freeway faceoff
of the year.
Like I said, all around, what afantastic game to watch.
Um if you if you want to seeplayoff hockey like in the
(57:59):
regular season, these are thegames to watch.
Yeah, it's gonna be a battle forthe whole season.
Yeah, and then uh let's go overthe stats.
You want to go?
I'll let you go first.
SPEAKER_03 (58:12):
Oh shots on goal.
Kings outshot him 34-31.
SPEAKER_00 (58:18):
Never wait, nope.
I didn't update that one.
Sorry.
SPEAKER_03 (58:22):
Was it was it 31?
No.
Sorry, 2731.
SPEAKER_00 (58:27):
Sorry, I forgot to
update your side on that.
So you I don't I don't havewell, I guess I can't.
All right, so the the Kings had27 shots on goal.
Um and then they won theface-off percentage 52 to 52.7
to 47.3.
Um the power play.
(58:50):
Uh the kings only had one powerplay chance.
Uh, and they were 0 for 1.
The ducks had two, they were 1for 2.
Um, ducks had 18 hits, the kingshad 14.
Uh block shots 24 to 21.
The kings had uh 24 giveaways.
The ducks had 19 giveaways to 13for the kings, but the ducks had
(59:13):
11 takeaways to the kings three.
Wow, that's a big difference.
Yep, and then you want to talkabout the third star?
SPEAKER_03 (59:21):
Uh let me go down
there.
I don't even know.
I don't know.
SPEAKER_00 (59:26):
Third star was Kevin
Fialo with a goal.
Yeah, I would say Fiala wasgreat in this game.
I he I I would say he'sdefinitely I would say one of
those duck killers.
He always plays good against theducks.
I want to say, like, they weretalking about on the broadcast
last night.
They were saying, like, in likethird was it, like 30 games or
whatever, he has like 28 pointsagainst the ducks.
(59:50):
So he's always been he's alwaysplayed good great against the
ducks.
Um, the number two star of thegame was Jackson Lacomb with the
assist and one point, and thenLeo Carlson was the number one
star with uh one goal and twoassists for three points, and so
that concludes game one of thefreeway face off this season.
SPEAKER_03 (01:00:14):
Yes, so we go to uh
our overall standings and
predictions, and Cody, you goteven at 12 and 12.
Okay, I suck at nine andfifteen.
Oh wow, after 24 games on 9 and15, you're 12 and 12, which at
(01:00:35):
least you're at 500.
SPEAKER_00 (01:00:37):
Yeah, I'll take 500
on that.
All right, and then we do haveuh um people from the Instagram
live.
Uh Mighty Ducks or sorry, HaloHalo 714 says Quack City, and
then uh the Sund said, I don'tknow what's up with the Kings.
(01:00:58):
Uh big time shooters, Campbell'sshot felt low effort.
SPEAKER_03 (01:01:03):
It did feel low
effort.
That's the only one I did see,and he's better than that.
I think I think we have a lot oftalent on that team that could
be good in shootout, but theycertainly aren't doing it this
year because we keep gettingbeat in the shootouts, yeah, and
then uh mom.
SPEAKER_00 (01:01:21):
Put uh let's go
ducks quack quack.
Amen to that, and then uh Adamput Fiala's gonna be future
Kempe against the Ducks becauseKempe was always a duck killer,
now it's gonna be more Fiala.
SPEAKER_03 (01:01:33):
Seems like I think
Kempe will still probably be in
that category with him.
It would be nice to see somebodyjoin them because the like I
said, the ducks of overallscoring is better spread out
than the kings is.
Yeah, you know, and we're notscoring enough goals, and we
(01:01:57):
don't we're not very good in theshootout most of the time.
I think we've won one, maybe twogames at it, but we've lost
quite a few.
I mean, another one goal game,we lead another overtime game,
and we were leading the league, and I think overtime uh games
and one goal games, yeah.
(01:02:19):
So uh the nice thing is is uhlike I said, I I I you gotta be
pretty happy.
I mean, if I was a duck fan, I'dbe pretty happy with I what
they've done so far, canespecially compared to last
year.
But you know, I'm looking at theKings, they're same gate, some
same amount of games, they'retwo points behind the ducks, and
(01:02:40):
I feel like they haven't playedthat good.
Yeah, is it just me that feelsthat way?
How do you guys feel?
I I'm just curious.
Um I think we could be so muchbetter than we've been.
I think if by Byfield couldstart being more like Carlson,
that's what I expect from him.
(01:03:02):
Carlson's doing a fantastic job.
He needs to be like that, but Ican tell you one thing he rings
it off the post, he's he's ringsit off the post, I bet you at
least triple the times hescored.
And how many people do that?
I mean, is that bad luck?
(01:03:22):
You know, is he trying to be toofine?
I don't know.
He's gotta start scoring somegoals.
We need him to get going, youknow.
I think you know, in our future,he has to become a 3C or a 2C in
the future.
Yeah, we need him to pick it up.
(01:03:42):
It it's gonna be interesting tosee what happens the rest of the
season.
I mean, I'm disappointed, andI'm in second place and I'm a
playoff team.
I should I be that disappointed?
SPEAKER_00 (01:03:57):
I mean, would you be
disappointed that right now at
Thanksgiving break you don'thave to play the Oilers right
now?
SPEAKER_03 (01:04:06):
Well, that would be
a blessing, but I mean, you're
looking at I mean what's greatabout this season is our hated
teams are below us, and Vegaslooks very beatable right now.
Um, even the Oilers are beatableright now.
(01:04:27):
Um, Southern California's, Iguess, if you really want to
talk about it, we're rocking thePacific.
So, yeah, and yet I still feellike uh we got so much more to
do.
SPEAKER_00 (01:04:41):
Yeah, yeah.
So we we do have a couplecomments in the in uh Instagram
live.
Um uh the sun put happy belatedThanksgiving, boys.
I'm grateful for great hockey,uh oh, for a great hockey game,
even though the kings lost, feels like a revival of the
rivalry.
SPEAKER_03 (01:05:01):
Oh, absolutely
totally agree with that.
SPEAKER_00 (01:05:03):
And then he also
asked, Is there anything you
guys are particularly gratefulfor, both hockey related and
not?
SPEAKER_03 (01:05:11):
Well, I'm I'm really
grateful we're above the Oilers
in Vegas right now.
I mean, I can't tell you thatmakes me very that that makes me
a very happy hockey fan.
And what's really interesting isI was on um the hockey princess
podcast, and I made a commentabout how upside down this
(01:05:38):
season's been, and I think sheran with it because I think it
was she said something in herpodcast about that being upside
down.
Oh, she did totally agree when Imade the comment too, and I'm
sure she's probably noticedthat.
I mean, who who expected theducks to be on top?
Who expected you know some ofthese teams that are in the
(01:06:00):
playoff hunt to be there?
Uh Montreal's played well.
Um, I I'm I'm surprised by thesharks, you know, they're
throwing promise, a lot morepromise than I thought we'd get
from them this year.
So there's uh it's in Seattle,yeah.
Uh Seattle's been crazy goodthis year, but you know what?
(01:06:23):
I think we've said the last fewyears they were talented, and
what happened?
Why why weren't they winning?
You know, so you know, to haveSeattle in the mix, they have
the talent there.
It's it's just that they didn'tput it together.
You don't think they have talentthere?
SPEAKER_00 (01:06:42):
Uh, talent, as in I
would say all four lines are
like middle six players, theydon't have any like number one
players on their uh I would sayon their squad.
I would say the closest personthey have is being like a number
one player might be BrandonMontor and Joey DeCord.
(01:07:06):
But after that, it's not wellDeCord's been playing, he's been
rocking it.
SPEAKER_03 (01:07:11):
So, but he wants to
play for he wants to be
considered to play for somebodythis year in the Olympics.
SPEAKER_00 (01:07:18):
All right, I we do
have a couple more comments I
haven't gotten to yet.
Um, from Ducks R i said ourbottom six has slowed down
significantly in production thelast couple of weeks.
Um, I would say this because wedidn't, you know, Granlon's
still out.
Um we just got paling back, andI think that's gonna be a big
(01:07:38):
help.
Um, because I paling was ourthird line center last night,
and they had Ryan Stromecentering the fourth line.
Yeah, I saw no Vetrano in thelineup.
Vitrano played, did he?
Yeah, he was on the fourth linewith um Strome and Johnston.
Oh, okay, and then also uh Ducksare are god.
(01:07:58):
I I love your name, but it's sohard to say at the same time.
He says our standard is a bitdifferent than LA's right now.
If you told any Ducks fans lastsummer they'd even be in a wild
card spot at Thanksgiving, we'dbe ecstatic, let alone first in
the division.
And honestly, 100% agree.
(01:08:19):
I was not expecting that.
I and I think even I said beforethe season started, I expected
us to be in the wild card hunt.
I mean, things can change, there's still what six uh like
less than 60 games left, 55 to60 games for some teams, so
there's still a lot of timeleft.
(01:08:39):
Uh, and then he also said, nodisrespect to Seattle because
they've earned their spot, butif they take a playoff spot,
that's a blessing.
It's that's a blessing for itfor everyone.
And I forgot, yes, Vince VinceDunn is a great player.
I I did forget about him, but Imean on their forward lines,
(01:09:00):
it's me, what maybe MaddieBeneers and um Chandler
Stevenson, but though thosearen't like I would say number
one players, and uh Adam Brollsays, uh, just like the great
Urbrooks said, not the mosttalented team, but the right
team in Seattle.
(01:09:20):
Well, that's true, and maybethey got the right coach there
to coach that team.
And then also uh Desmond in theInstagram live said, ha ha ha, I
agree.
I love to I love to see theOilers tank, even it, even if I
feel bad for McDavid having tosit through it.
(01:09:41):
So um, but let uh the one thingI'm definitely grateful for is I
would say that just how theducks are playing overall this
year, like Carlson playing theway he is, like how I think how
this is probably what Verbeekthe uh saw in Carlson before you
know that's why he draftedCarlson over Fantilly in that
(01:10:04):
draft.
So I I'm you know, and this youknow how Quenville's coached
this squad with I would say alsoto uh McGill and Woodcroft as
well, like them, you know what agreat coaching staff that is,
and then also you know, Dolstalland Lacombe helping us out
defensively, and I would sayTruba as well has played very
(01:10:28):
great this year, and Kreider.
SPEAKER_03 (01:10:33):
Well, I'm gonna go
back to what Kevin said.
Um, if we want to be elite, wegotta have elite coaches like
that.
And why is Newell Browns stillrunning the power play?
Because he created one play inthe power play that was
(01:10:57):
considered incredible becausehe's not familiar, it's not it's
not working in Los Angeles.
Just gonna say it, not working.
Let's wake up, guys, and and getsomebody in there that can fire
up.
We we have enough talent on thepower play to score a lot of
(01:11:19):
goals.
Let's get somebody in there thatcan take that talent, use it
effectively and with purpose.
And I mean, this is one fansaying something.
Um I think like what the Codytalked about, the ducks when
they revamped their coachingstaff, they did a fantastic job
(01:11:42):
of it.
Uh why are we settling forNewell Brown?
I mean, I I I heard for whatlast two years Cody complained,
or maybe not last year, becauseI think Newell Brown was on our
team, but the two years prior tothat, he hated Newell Brown, he
wanted to get rid of him, and Igo, Yeah, you guys dump him and
(01:12:07):
we pick him up for our powerplay.
I don't know.
SPEAKER_00 (01:12:14):
What's that for?
That you guys have them.
Um Kevin says, You could tellthis king's roster and talent is
shackled by the coaching staff.
Yeah, now agree.
Now, do you think it's justNewell Brown, or could it be
like a Hiller problem, too?
SPEAKER_03 (01:12:35):
Yeah, a lot of
people don't like what Hiller's
done.
Um, he got us 105 points, that'swhy I think he's still behind
the bench last year, which wasthe best we've ever done as far
as a regular season.
But I have to admit I'm nottotally thrilled with him.
(01:12:59):
I go, he's gonna have to provethis year to me that he's worthy
to stay the coach, and I'm notsure whether I I'm it's it's
iffy with me right now as a fan,and I I know I have a guy at
work who's a big skin Kings fan.
(01:13:19):
Um he he would have uh hadsomebody grab him, put a sack
over his head, put him in one ofthose containers and put him on
a liner to nowhere.
That's how much he liked him.
SPEAKER_01 (01:13:34):
Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (01:13:35):
Steve, that that was
that was your comment for you if
you ever watch our podcast,Steve.
SPEAKER_00 (01:13:41):
Yeah, um let's get
into game predictions real quick
before we forget, like we did acouple weeks ago.
Um, so the ducks play tomorrow,11:30, against the Chicago
Blackhawks in Chicago, and I'mpredicting a 4-3 win for the
(01:14:03):
Ducks, and then literally thenext day, so we have a
back-to-back uh against St.
Louis in St.
Louis, and I'm predicting a 5-1loss, just because the Ducks
always do bad against the Blues,no matter how good the Blues are
or how good the Ducks are, theDucks just seem to lose.
(01:14:25):
What was the score?
Or the which one blues five-oneloss.
I have a feeling the blues aregonna score within like the
first one or two minutes, andthen just dominate after that,
and then the ducks will somehowtrade for Robert Thomas, and
then the ducks win the StanleyCup this year.
No, I'm just kidding.
Um, and then Wednesday, theducks uh head back home and play
(01:14:49):
against the Utah Mammoth.
I'm gonna say a 5-4 win for theDucks on that one, and then the
Ducks finish up the week uh homeagainst the Washington Capitals,
and I'm going to say a 6-4 winfor the Ducks.
SPEAKER_03 (01:15:12):
So you had three
games, correct?
Four.
SPEAKER_00 (01:15:18):
Oh, you got a game
Sunday, I forgot that Sunday
against the Blackhawks.
We're gonna get to that.
I already have it in the notesto do more of that, so don't
worry, we'll get to more ofthat.
And what'd you say for thatgame?
For the Blackhawks?
(01:15:39):
Yeah, 4-3 win.
SPEAKER_03 (01:15:45):
So you have three
wins and a loss.
Okay, going to my predictions,Kings play the Canucks tonight,
and I predict a 5-3 win againstthe Canucks.
Thurs or Tuesday they play theCapitals, uh, 4-3 lost to the
Capitals, and Thursday they playChicago, and I have a 5-2 win
(01:16:10):
against Chicago, so I only havethree games, yeah.
SPEAKER_00 (01:16:15):
So that's what I
Kevin put Hiller is great at not
losing and getting results inzero pressure games when it
matters, or when the oppositionis really at their best, we
stand zero chance with thisstyle where we play not to lose.
God, that sounds like the lastyears with Eekins and Cronin.
(01:16:38):
Oops, I said the name.
SPEAKER_03 (01:16:41):
Oh Voldemort,
Voldemort, Voldemort.
I agree with that, Kevin.
Yeah, we're playing not to lose.
That's a that's a great way ofputting it.
Yeah, I think well well saidcompared to what I said.
So I'm gonna go.
I'm going with what you said,Kevin.
(01:17:02):
Thank you.
SPEAKER_00 (01:17:03):
All right, and then
we're gonna get we're gonna fit
we'll end the episode with uhquestions and what we're
thankful for, but just kind ofgetting a little off the hockey
topic, and I heard this kind ofon they were talking about was
it I think it was the emptynetters or what chaos?
I forgot which podcast it was,but they were talking about you
(01:17:25):
know who Cam Scattaboo is,right?
Yeah, so I guess on a podcast hewas just recently on, he asked
the question, it's the tacodebate.
Does the taco dominate you, ordo you dominate the taco?
So what he means is when youbite into a taco, do you turn
the taco to eat it, or do youturn your head to eat it?
(01:17:49):
So if you dominate the taco, youturn the taco to eat it.
But if you turn your head to eatthe taco, then the taco
dominates you.
Do you know if you eat a taco, does a does the taco dominate
you, or does the or do youdominate the taco?
I I thought it was hilarious, and I thought it would be kind
of funny just to add that in.
(01:18:10):
Okay, I have no idea.
I would say it's a little bit ofboth for me.
I would say like it's like50-50.
I would say.
SPEAKER_03 (01:18:21):
I guess I turned my
head.
I guess the taco dominates me.
SPEAKER_00 (01:18:25):
It even says a
little bit of both.
We dominate each other.
Okay, it was the empty netters.
I said it was okay.
I knew it was either emptynetters or what chaos because
they usually go off topic withfun stuff like that.
I think it was empty netters.
Um, I I love um God, they're sofun to listen to.
Um, so everyone just watched thenext time ever you have tacos,
(01:18:48):
you'd be like, Wait, you'regonna think twice, but maybe
before eating a taco next time.
SPEAKER_03 (01:18:54):
Well, I'm gonna tell
you this.
One thing I know about a taco,when I'm done, it's gone, and
I'm still here.
SPEAKER_00 (01:19:01):
Yeah, I I was I
would say more than often I
don't I would say 100% of thetime I dominate the taco.
Taco dominates me for sure.
Don't want to waste anyingredients.
See, that makes sense.
I get that.
That's why I say I'm like 50-50on it.
Like, I think sometimes we'reall like okay, I can turn
(01:19:23):
certain tacos, and there's sometacos where uh you have to like
you know turn to make sure youkeep everything in the taco.
SPEAKER_03 (01:19:31):
It's like me if if
there's I gotta have lettuce in
the taco, I gotta have it.
I mean, it's I like the crunchof the lettuce, it doesn't
really have a whole lot offlavor, but that crunch when I
take a bite of the taco, I lovethat part, and I gotta say I it
(01:19:54):
probably dominates me till it'sgone, yeah.
And I think at the end I win.
So I'm I I guess I have to say Iit's both for me too.
SPEAKER_00 (01:20:05):
So doesn't in the
Instagram live chat says the
taco domination is the dumbestand funniest thing I've heard
today.
I'm grateful for that.
And he's he put and he put alaughing emoji and everything.
So that's why I put it in there.
I thought it it's so stupid, butit's funny, and just kind of
(01:20:27):
keep get us off topic a littlebit and have some fun.
Um, I mean, look at it.
We're getting a bunch ofcomments about it.
Uh, it was like our whole candydebate.
Um, Adam says, a hard shelltaco, I move my head to eat it.
Soft taco, I just smash it likea burrito and don't move my
head.
See, you could you now it's thehere's the next question: what
(01:20:49):
is the best taco?
Is it a hard shell, soft shell,or street taco?
SPEAKER_03 (01:20:58):
As Justin would say,
it's white lady tacos.
That's the best taco.
White lady tacos.
SPEAKER_00 (01:21:07):
Yeah, even good,
yeah.
Adam is right.
The soft ta the soft streettacos you could just roll roll
up slightly and nothing fallsout.
So now here's the thing.
I don't like yes, I like theones that like mom makes, like
the ones that you those the corntortillas that you fry and make
(01:21:30):
uh put them in oil and then youmake them into a like a hard
shell.
SPEAKER_03 (01:21:34):
I like those more,
but they're not a hard shell,
it's a chewy shell.
SPEAKER_00 (01:21:41):
It's a chewy shell,
yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (01:21:43):
Yeah, and and and
that is the perfect taco shell.
SPEAKER_00 (01:21:46):
Yes, so for me, I
like the ones that you can get,
like at Del Taco or Taco Bell, whatever, like the hard shell
ones.
I don't like those ones becauseI feel like they break so
easily.
I'm usually a flour tortillashelf taco person, or are even
like the jack-of-the-box kind ofshell, like those kind of like
(01:22:09):
shells are honestly.
I think one of our favorites isum the El Polloco crispy taco.
Oh my god, it's so good! Like meand Christina get every time we
go there.
I made the mistake of gettingthem and then letting Christina
bite one, like let her try oneof mine, and then I lost the
taco.
(01:22:31):
Um and then I honestly I I'm nota big street taco person.
I'll I'll eat them, but it's I Ithink it's like the hard shell
or the or the what you said, thecrispy shell, and then I would
(01:22:52):
say hard shell than streettacos.
I don't know.
I just feel like the streettacos are just kind of dry for
me.
Well, yeah.
Um, let's see.
SPEAKER_03 (01:23:04):
So we're Kevin, you
don't have Del Taco or Taco?
SPEAKER_00 (01:23:08):
Now that you brought
up Del Taco, Taco Bell, uh Del
Taco over Taco Bell, I miss ituh very much since moving away.
Oh no, it's the opposite.
I'm sorry, Kevin.
I disagree.
It's Taco Bell over Del Taco.
Uh and then he also said, uh, tome, the street tacos are my
favorite.
It's it's really because of thesalsa they give.
(01:23:29):
The tacos are uh are a gooddelivery method of the salsa.
SPEAKER_03 (01:23:35):
Oh, I gotta have
pico de gallo.
You gotta have a little bit ofhot sauce, cheese, lettuce, and
mom's chew, uh chewy taco shell.
That's the way to go.
Hands down, and I gotta tellyou, I would take Jack in the
Box tacos over Del Taco or orTaco Bell.
SPEAKER_00 (01:24:00):
See, you gotta try
the El Pollo Loco one, and it
might change.
SPEAKER_03 (01:24:04):
I haven't had the El
Pollo before no, that's what I'm
saying.
SPEAKER_00 (01:24:06):
You gotta try it.
I I will send you what the whichone to get.
It's it's it's me andChristina's go-to.
SPEAKER_03 (01:24:15):
So we were talking
supposed to talk about what
we're thankful for.
Are we thankful for Taco Bell?
SPEAKER_00 (01:24:20):
Before we get to
that, we have one more comment
in the Instagram live fromDesmond.
He says, Taco Bell all the way, live moss.
All right, and then uh here Igo.
Um Kevin put El Pollo Loco Tacosand Burritos are so underrated.
100% agree.
Um, street tacos, like thelittle mini quartet with meat,
(01:24:42):
cheese, avocado, and so yeah.
If they have all those in it,then it's probably a lot better.
I think it's just maybe it's theone that we get here.
And the mom says the Taco BellDorito Taco Supreme, and then uh
no tomatoes, Jack in the Box isthe best fake drunk tacos ever.
And you gotta have them whenthey're fresh, you can't have
(01:25:04):
them after like 10 minutesbecause they're they're just
bad.
But all right, now we're donewith the taco debate.
If we have any more comments onthe taco debate, we'll add them
later, like in later episodes.
Um, wow, the taco thing wentfar.
Yeah, it did, and I'm glad Iadded it now.
Um, all right.
(01:25:24):
So now that Thanksgiving haspassed, what are we thankful
for?
SPEAKER_03 (01:25:31):
What are we thankful
for?
Adam now I want tacos.
Um thankful for family, thankfulfor a job with a purpose,
thankful for my church familyalso.
(01:25:52):
I'm very thankful that we havesuch a loving church and friends
that we can always count on.
Yeah.
But I mean, just I'm totallyblessed.
SPEAKER_00 (01:26:03):
No, uh, I agree.
Uh, you know, I'm thankful foryou know, everyone being healthy
in our family, you know, gettingspending time with you know,
grandma and papa the last coupleweeks, going out and visiting
them was so much fun.
Um, you know, we had I know wehad our Thanksgiving last
Sunday, and you know, the allthe great food, the great
(01:26:24):
family, and everything likethat.
You know, and I'm thankful formy my in-laws, you know, they
you know help us with uh youknow everything, you know.
And then, you know, of course,my wife, you know, she I
wouldn't, she's my rock, Iwouldn't be here without her.
Um, and tell you you wouldn't behere without me and your mom,
(01:26:46):
that's for sure.
Okay, first of all, nope, no,nope, we're not getting there.
We're not getting there.
We're not getting there.
We're not going there.
Um, but you know, I it and Ialso I want to be thankful for
all the people that we've metdoing this podcast, you know,
you know, with Eddie Garcia,Kyle Carr, Doug Stolhan, you
(01:27:09):
know, Dylan, Colby, everyonethat we've had on here, we've
had so much fun, and even uh allthe extra people that we've met,
uh also it's just it's beenamazing to do like I didn't
think that when I started thispodcast that it would have gone
to 90 episodes like it is thatwe're at now, and I'm having so
(01:27:32):
much fun with everyone.
I've I've met we've like I said,we've met great people along the
way, absolutely been a blast.
So and also it I and I'mthankful that I get to do this
with you every week.
Well, thank you.
SPEAKER_03 (01:27:47):
I um I was so
reluctant because when you kept
going, you know, I need to findsomeone, and and we I I I gave
you names and it just didn'thappen, and then I it came to my
head, how about a rivalrypodcast?
And I go, Oh god, do I reallywant to say something like that
(01:28:08):
and commit to this?
Because this really isn't what Ithink is my real cup of tea.
Yeah, I didn't think so.
At least it wasn't really mineeither.
But you know, I I stepped out infaith to bring it up because
after I said it to you, I whenwe talked about doing it, I was
(01:28:30):
so scared the first episode.
I'm sure everybody saw that.
I don't think I don't think Iwas comfortable at all in what
we were doing, but you know howmany dads get to do this with
their sons, you know, especiallytheir grown-up son who's married
and has a life of his own andactually tolerates me as much as
(01:28:56):
he does.
So um, I I am truly thankful forthat.
I I do talk about it all thetime, yeah.
And with people and tell them,oh yeah, hey, listen to Royally
Quacked.
Yeah, I mean, like there's a alady in uh Long Beach whose
son's played hockey, and whenshe told me that, I go, Hey, you
(01:29:17):
know, we do a Kings and Duckspodcast, Royally Quack.
The next time I saw her, shesaid she'd actually listen to
us.
SPEAKER_00 (01:29:24):
Oh, that's awesome!
SPEAKER_03 (01:29:25):
So, um, you know,
she's over there at APMG in Long
Beach.
You know, if you're listening,uh missed you yesterday.
You guys were close when we wentby to pick up, so but it's
that's been truly a blessing, and I mean my love for hockey
has grown through this too.
(01:29:46):
Yeah, it's been something that Ikind of did on my own for a long
time, just because um noteverybody was as into hockey as
I I was, and and I feel blessedthat you have taken up the
mantle and maybe taken it evenpast my passions.
(01:30:07):
And you know, our executiveproducer participates every week
talking on the podcast, tellingus when we've been bad boys and
sometimes when we've beenfantastic, yeah.
And she's become a bigger hockeyfan because I don't think she
knew what hockey was until shemet me.
SPEAKER_00 (01:30:28):
Yeah, that's why
I've uh uh my my my wife still
thought she thought the HondaCenter is where they sold
Hondas, and she still thoughtthe ducks were called the Mighty
Ducks.
But I see I've heard that frommultiple people since then.
SPEAKER_03 (01:30:45):
Well, I just want uh
Adam shared this.
I'm thankful for my family andfriends, but also thankful for
this family right here.
I may not always be present onthe show, but I always make my
mark.
Oh my god, do you ever make yourmark?
Oh god, and I appreciate youguys tolerating me.
And honestly, Adam, I appreciateyou tolerating us.
(01:31:07):
Just yeah, right back to youguys.
SPEAKER_00 (01:31:09):
It's okay to cry,
guys.
It's okay.
Yeah, let me just let me getsome water and just tear tear
tear.
SPEAKER_03 (01:31:16):
Yeah, here, here,
here's here's something, Adam.
You haven't been on in a while.
When when do you want to comeback?
And Kevin, too.
SPEAKER_01 (01:31:24):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_03 (01:31:25):
You know, so I mean,
anytime you guys want to pop in,
just yell.
SPEAKER_00 (01:31:30):
Well, I we all know
Adam just invites himself.
He'll literally message meFriday night, hey, I'm coming
on.
Okay.
I want to say it's happened atleast twice, at least.
And I mean we and we have openinvitations for a lot of people,
and we love it.
SPEAKER_03 (01:31:48):
And the thing is, is
he comes on and we have fun, we
pick on each other like crazy.
But you know, the true thing is,is we are a family, so it's been
awesome.
This podcast has been great.
Truly thankful for all of youwho listen to us every week.
Um, it is it is a family, soyeah.
(01:32:12):
Also thank you, thank you now.
Because uh I love doing this, Ilook forward to doing it every
week.
It's one of my highlights.
So I appreciate you guys.
SPEAKER_00 (01:32:22):
Uh before I forget,
I I want to say like a huge
thank thank you to you know KyleCarr from Lockdown Anaheim
Ducks, Eddie Garcia from thePuck Podcast, and Lockdown LA
Kings, um, and even like youknow, Duck Stallhand from the
Puck Podcast and the laterrivals guys, because they've all
(01:32:43):
shared you know our podcastswith on their podcasts and their
social media.
So you know, I'm very thankfulfor them for doing that too.
If I'm missing someone, I'm I'msorry, but I just want to say
like huge shout out to all fourof those podcasts, you know, for
shouting us out, talking aboutus.
(01:33:06):
You know, uh I we gotta get thelate arrivals guys on soon.
SPEAKER_03 (01:33:11):
Um god, we gotta
talk food with them.
SPEAKER_00 (01:33:14):
Yeah, yeah, for
sure.
SPEAKER_03 (01:33:17):
Um, Lou doesn't like
the bread at Cain's.
That's crazy.
The toast.
SPEAKER_00 (01:33:23):
I mean, we gotta
bring him on.
All right, and then uh uh justto son from the Instagram live.
He says, I'm thankful for myfavorite father-son hockey duo
and your live stream when I cancatch them.
God bless you all.
God bless you too, man.
God bless you too.
Thank you for that.
Thank you for tuning in live.
Yes, I appreciate it.
(01:33:43):
Um, like I said, so I know it'sa Saturday morning, not everyone
could they you guys want toenjoy your your weekends
sleeping in and um and andeverything like that.
And what you know, you want towatch be with family on Saturday
mornings, but if you guys arehere, we're thankful for that.
And we honestly we appreciatefor all our listeners as well,
(01:34:04):
you know, all the followers, youknow, thankful for keeping us
going because I don't know if Ican keep doing it if we were
only getting you know just ourfamily listening to the podcast
and everything.
So thankful for that.
And then also Adam says, uh, toadd on, I'm also thankful for
you guys putting me in touchwith Kyle.
It's always uh great to link upwith a fellow veteran hockey
(01:34:26):
player, and like and also ashout out to the Patriots hockey
too.
Oh yeah, most definitely.
SPEAKER_03 (01:34:32):
Um we I hope we're
invited.
I I I do really actually believewe're invited to next year's
golf uh uh tournament, and andthen the uh the state classy,
state classy one, San Diego.
Yeah, I'm looking forward tothat.
I am I am so looking forward.
Um, if we could get uh the dateson that so we can make sure
(01:34:57):
we're available because I had somuch fun at that uh golf
tournament.
Yeah, I I thought it was notgonna turn out as great as it
did, but it was incredible.
SPEAKER_00 (01:35:10):
Absolutely, you're
invited.
Love it, but thank you, Adam.
SPEAKER_03 (01:35:15):
Appreciate that.
SPEAKER_00 (01:35:16):
It's awesome.
I I guess I I wanted to makesure we got a shout out to you
know, especially the PedroTalkie, you know, them putting
up with us during the golftournament, you know, them you
know, wanting to interview andtalk with us.
That was great.
Then none of them had to do it,but they all did it and
everything.
And you know, I'm glad because Iguess that that was so much fun.
(01:35:39):
And like I said, uh a huge shoutout to like I guess all the our
followers, you you know, DM us,follow us, um, and everything
like that.
Like I said, huge, a lot of fun,um, and thankful for everyone
that's helped helped us alongthe way.
Um, oh, and like, you know, Ican't almost forgot, like, you
(01:36:00):
know, DJ Jojo, shout out to him,Trent Sullivan as well.
Like I said, if it wasn't for DJJojo, I wouldn't have been able
to do that uh the while we maskgiveaway.
Adam, I still have your mask.
Don't worry, it's literallysitting right here next to me.
I still have your mask.
Um, because he called itliterally when I was at the game
(01:36:20):
before the game even started.
I I think I put took a picturewith it or something.
He's like, Oh, I'm so jealous.
I was like, Oh, I have an extraone.
He's like, All right, dibs.
I was like, Okay, it's yours.
And then uh Adam put also thecharity game is on December
20th.
It's the rain teddy bear tossgame, too.
So everyone be ready for that.
(01:36:42):
Is that a Saturday?
Uh let's see.
I'm not tracking right acalendar right now.
That is a Saturday.
SPEAKER_03 (01:36:51):
Okay.
So we we might have to just workthat in.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_00 (01:37:02):
Um anything else you
want to add before we get out of
here?
Oh, actually, no, sorry, Ialmost forgot.
We do have two questions.
Okay.
SPEAKER_03 (01:37:14):
No, you're no, I'm
busy.
I'm busy on the 20th, I guess.
SPEAKER_00 (01:37:20):
All right.
So, question one from Instagram.
Question one.
Uh, from this is from AdamBroll.
Uh, why is Gary so old?
SPEAKER_03 (01:37:32):
Why am I so old?
Yeah, um, I gained about 20years every time you come on the
podcast.
SPEAKER_00 (01:37:40):
That's why I I feel
like every time Adam puts a
comment, your your your rightyour facial right here gets
grayer and grayer and white andwhite.
So, what's the other question?
Question two is also from Adam, but it's an actual hockey
(01:38:02):
question.
Um, with Dost Wall out, willHusos serve as a viable backup
to keep momentum going?
I think after we saw last night, that's a yes, and I think
Mrazic's playing a lot better.
Uh you know, I think we're gonnahave a lot closer games than
we've had you know in the past.
(01:38:25):
So we're fighting we might begiving up, you know, maybe one
or two more goals, but I thinkthe way we're scoring, I think
we'll be fine.
But maybe with Mrazic playing alittle bit more, and you know,
we saw what Villy Husso did withus last year and then and then
last night.
I think we'll be fine with themas the you know, maybe they
(01:38:46):
might be.
I hope they kind of split time alittle bit, you know.
Whoso gets a game, Marazzik getsa game, whoso gets a game,
Marazzik gets a game.
Because I think that might bebetter for both of them, so not
one of them is taking up toomuch uh of a of a workload and
then tying themselves out.
And I honestly and it's onlyhopefully for hopefully just
(01:39:11):
three weeks.
So that I mean, we've alreadyplayed what two games since his
injury, so maybe another maybeeight to ten games, you know,
they just split time, you know, four to five games each, and
just you know, and this is thisis gonna be a big test right
here on how well the ducks arewithout their number one goalie.
(01:39:35):
So and honestly, and it was sucha great question, and that's why
Adam said, like, are you gonnaanswer my question now or later?
And I was like, Oh, we'll saveit for later because I wanted to
add the the first one with it,too.
Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_03 (01:39:49):
Okay, but yeah, um,
unfortunately, on the 20th, um
your mom is going with yourgrandmother to Barry Manilo, and
I am taking care of Papaovernight.
SPEAKER_00 (01:40:07):
Got it.
SPEAKER_03 (01:40:08):
So there is no way I
can get out of that.
I'd have to drag Papa with me,and that would be a chore.
SPEAKER_00 (01:40:15):
Yeah, so sorry,
yeah, and then uh Adam Assel,
even though he's a known he'sknown as a king, Peter Budai
could be the greatest ducksgoalie coach.
The strides he made with Gibbyand Dostal last year and Mrazic
this year are phenomenal.
No, I uh honestly I a hundredpercent agree.
I've I like the way Peter Budaiis coaching.
(01:40:38):
Uh I uh uh and I agree, like Ithink he could be one of the
best ducks uh goalie coachesever because like I said, Gibby
definitely turned a table lastyear, he was a lot better as a
goalie last year.
Dostalls looked solid, and thenMrazic.
I know he had the first shakycouple games, but I I would say
(01:40:59):
like that Minnesota game, nothis fault.
Um, what was the other game?
The the Canucks, not his fault, you know.
So it when he's getting beatsome off of like just turnovers
or weird bounces, and he's notgiving up that many goals.
And like I guess I would sayMurazik and Husso have been very
good so far, I would sayoverall.
(01:41:19):
So I agree.
I think I think he's also helpedHusso as well.
Because I mean who so got youknow, he was in the AHL with the
with the Red Wings, and youknow, he was getting paid what
four over four million dollars ayear, and he was a gel goalie,
and you know, we traded him forpretty much nothing.
And I mean, yeah, he's a gelgoalie now just because of our
(01:41:43):
situation, but I I I think who Ithink after Miracy's contract is
done this offseason, I thinkGusa would be a great backup for
Dostall.
So um you have anything else toadd?
I think that's about it for me.
All right, well, again, um, Iguess we're gonna wrap it up.
(01:42:05):
Um, what a great episode again.
Um, hold on.
Uh let's see, Adam put I'mcurious to see what he's gonna
do with Huso for the time being.
I I think it's gonna be like anevery other game thing.
That's what I'm hoping for.
That way they're Morazic or Husois not getting so much work all
together.
So, like tonight we'll probablysee, or sorry, tomorrow we'll
(01:42:28):
probably see Mrazic, and thenoh, I mean, obviously, since we
have back to back, we'llprobably see who's so on Monday,
and then I think it's gonna belike every other game they'll be
playing.
So, but uh well that wraps it upfor episode 90 of uh of Royally
Quacked, and what a greatepisode! Thankful for everyone
that tuned in and commented andand everything like that.
(01:42:52):
Um, Adam Quack Quack Quack, goodday, boys.
Now, um, yeah, let's just getout of here and I'm just
thankful for that both of ourteams are in a playoff spot
because I didn't think that wasgonna happen, you know, for
another year or so for now.
SPEAKER_03 (01:43:11):
Well, let's hope
hope it continues until the end
of the season, and may we get toplay each other in the Western
Conference Championship.
Well, we can't, can we?
SPEAKER_00 (01:43:24):
Well, I mean, we
could only if one of our teams
is a wild card.
Well, we'll see what happens,yeah.
So, but you know, they thank youeveryone for tuning in to

SPEAKER_03 (01:45:04):

might me from last week, huh?
That was like two weeks ago, Ithink.
Oh, was it okay?
Yeah, but um, but everyone's I'mold, so you know, I'm really
old, right, Adam?
SPEAKER_00 (01:45:15):
