contributed, and it he does agreat job.

(02:49):

Just like it, just like it.
It was funny.
Okay, I'm I wasn't mad.
It was it was it was all goodand fun.

(03:42):
I loved it, and uh Eddie's gotEddie Garcia's done it many
times to me too, and it's cracksme up every time.
Um, another quick announcement.
Um, just uh everyone, please gofollow the Mighty Ducks Club on
Instagram.
They're gonna be doing freegiveaways, they have a watch

So please go follow there, go tothe watch party.
I won't be able to attend thisone because I can't do weekday

Um, but I I hope to attend oneof these watch parties very

And I know they're uh he justbought some shirts, so go on
Instagram and you can uh ask himabout that.
And then uh before we getstarted, uh Kevin says, Good
morning, Gary and Cody.
Hashtag Hiller out, greatinterview with Jesse.
It was a great interview.
I we even I had fun with it.

SPEAKER_02 (04:47):
I gotta tell you, I don't like to hear myself talk,
so a lot of times I've alreadylived it.
I I won't listen to the episodesbecause I lived it, right?
Well, it popped on and startedgoing, and I gotta tell you, I
was laughing a lot.

(05:07):
Uh totally, I was totallyentertained, not by me, but by
Jesse.
He was awesome.
I gotta tell you, it was one ofthe most fun episodes we've
done.
Yeah, all easily, and it andthen you know, I get jabbed
typically just about every weekbecause Adam comes on and has to
say something, right?

(05:28):
You know, he has he has to getget me, and so it's always nice
to have someone get Cody once ina while.

SPEAKER_01 (05:35):
So, yeah, that's true.
And now you have Jesse and Eddieto help attack me.
Yeah, well, but it cracks me upevery time.
Uh yeah, yeah, that yeah, youguys were great on the episode.
Thanks for the bonus podcast.
I I wanted to surprise everyoneon that.

(05:56):
I I thought it would have been agreat surprise.
I want to start doing moreinterview podcasts like that.
So hopefully we can get do moreof that in the future because I
had a blast doing that one.
So um, you want to get startedwith uh team news?

SPEAKER_02 (06:13):
Sure.
Why don't you go ahead and startthis week?
All right, I will go we'll goright down the notes.

SPEAKER_01 (06:19):
Uh write down the notes.
So um the ducks have moved uhLukash Dostall to the injured
reserve.
Um, I think they just did thatso they can uh bring up another
player, um called uh uh actuallyno, I'll get back to that in a
second.
Um, but then Beckett Seneca justbecame the second fastest duck

(06:42):
to reach 20 points, and he hastied Paul Korea's rookie record
with an eight-game point streak.
And sadly, that did stay ateight, but we'll get to more of
that later.
And then the main reason whyDostal got moved to the IR is
because Peter Morazic will beout two to three weeks as he
recovers from the lower bodyinjury he suffered against the

(07:04):
Blackhawks.
It looked like a groin, so Ihope everything's okay with uh
Morazzik because he was he wasstarting to play a lot better,
in my opinion.
Um, so the reason why Dostal gotmoved to the IR is so they could
bring up uh batyets.
So now we have Vili Husso is ourI would say our number one

(07:24):
goalie as of right now, becauseour one and two are out right
now, and then butts is backingthem up, so but yeah, that's all
I have for uh for Ducks News.

SPEAKER_02 (07:39):
Well, I I think uh have some interesting things in
Kings News, but I'm gonna startoff the Kings made a trade, and
the Kings acquired forwardNikita Alexandrov from the St.
Louis Blues in exchange forforward a kill thomas.
And this is one of those oldadage things maybe new scenery

(08:01):
will make something happen forboth of these players because
they were pretty stagnant andand uh on the the big clubs, so
they got moved for each other tosee if that might you know make
a difference in their careers.
Then also the kings have signedforward Samuel Hillanius to a

(08:22):
two-year 875,000 AAV contractextension.
So two more years.
We got we we get Sammy just incase I don't know, he hasn't
played but two or three games, and I don't know if they I guess
this is a a protection.

(08:44):
Maybe if they did send him backdown to the AHL, maybe somebody
doesn't shy away from beingresponsible for two years.
Then, according to DailyFaceoff, here here's one for
you, Kevin.
The LA Kings and Peter Deborehave reportedly had advanced

(09:05):
discussions about bringing himin as their new head coach.
On another note with De Boer, heis said to be quite happy in his
current situation, meaning LAwould likely need to make a
substantial offer to secure himbehind the bench.

(09:25):
And I gotta tell you, let's doit.
Uh, we can't we can't score agoal for the life of us, and
then we play awesome defense, but every time we make one
mistake, and you gotta tell, Igotta tell you, every team makes
multiple mistakes in a game, butwe make one and they score a

(09:46):
goal.
We're not taking advantage ofthe mistakes on the other end.
We need something, we needsomething, something's gotta
change because we're we struggleto score.
So, not a little bit of a rantthere, but maybe a slight rant
about that.
I I know you King fans gotta befrustrated as I am.

(10:08):
Even when we were in firstplace, I was not happy how we
played.
That didn't last very long, tobe honest with you.

SPEAKER_01 (10:17):
Yep, and then Kevin said, best of luck to Akeel.
I really liked him, and I Ihoped it would have worked out.
I I heard great things about himand everything, and he seemed
like a great player.

SPEAKER_02 (10:28):
So well, you talk about a guy who who was
devastated with injuries in theyounger part of his career, so
he wasn't he didn't have thatchance to develop like a lot of
guys do.
I mean, he had multipledifferent surgeries to that kept
him out, you know.
I want to say at least threedifferent years, or he played a

(10:50):
lot less than a full season forthree years, and and that hurts
a guy's development.
So maybe going to St.
Louis, getting a uh a newscenery, you know.
I think he's got AHL ability.
I I think he would be a bottomsix guy for sure, but then
again, uh best of luck to uhkill Thomas.

SPEAKER_01 (11:12):
Yeah, agreed, and welcome to LA.
What was the name again?
Uh Alexandro Nikita Alexandrov.
Oh, that's a nice I like that'sa dope name.
Alexandrov.
Sounds very Russian.

(11:33):
All right.
Um, I'll I'll let you start offwith uh uh the first news
because that's something that'scloser to you than it is to me.
Uh Kevin says Dabor will want uhfree reign to change the whole
system.
I'm not sure the kings andRobotai would give him that
freedom.
I mean, yes, I agree with whatKevin's saying, but at the same

(11:58):
time, like the system that'sbeen going on hasn't worked, so
maybe a new system could work.

SPEAKER_02 (12:06):
Well, the system for the last 11 years has produced
four straight one round playoffexits, yeah, and before that,
and there I don't think we'vegotten past the first round

(12:28):
since we went to the StanleyCup, to be honest with you.

SPEAKER_01 (12:31):
Let's just say the ducks have won more playoff
series than the Kings have sinceyou guys won the Stanley Cup in
2014.

SPEAKER_02 (12:42):
Yeah, because we only go we've been out the first
round every time.

SPEAKER_01 (12:45):
Yeah, and the ducks haven't been in the playoffs in
the last seven, almost eightyears.

SPEAKER_02 (12:52):
Yeah, but they they were they were one of the top
teams before that.
Yeah, when the kings were werewallowing in the mud, yeah.
The ducks were at top of thePacific division quite a few
times.

SPEAKER_01 (13:05):
So no, I think we both I think 2017 was the last
year the both teams were out ofthe playoffs, and then you guys
we both were bad, but you guysgot just pushed better than the
ducks did because Bob Murraydidn't want to retool or

(13:26):
rebuild, and you guys did.

SPEAKER_02 (13:29):
I don't know if that's what we that's what
that's what the difference was.
I think we retooled, I don'tthink we ever did a rebuild.

SPEAKER_01 (13:35):
Well, you traded main players away before we did,
and that started.
I would say I think you guysretooled more than rebuilt, but
you guys did what you needed todo faster.
Bob Murray took a sweet timedoing it, yeah.
So I uh I'll let you start withthe league news and uh uh the

(13:55):
mighty ducks club on Instagram, like I who I talked about
earlier.
They said, Let's go, ducks, andthis year we are going to the
playoffs.
Amen to that.

SPEAKER_02 (14:05):
I I have no doubt about that.
They've they're they're fun afun team to watch play.
I watched last night's game, andthat was incredible except for
Wednesday night.
I I'm I'm gonna not spoil youryour games, yeah.
I'm not saying anything else, but last night's game was very
exciting.

SPEAKER_04 (14:22):
Yes.

SPEAKER_02 (14:23):
Uh, Martin Jones has retired from professional hockey
at the age of 35 and joining theCoquittum Express and the BCHL
as the new goalie coach.
Yeah, I liked Martin Jones.
Martin Jones.

(14:44):
I think that one year we went tothe cup, uh Quick was hurt.
He and he won his first eightgames.
I think it was him.
Sure.

SPEAKER_01 (14:56):
Yeah, isn't it?
Wasn't it him?
What year was that?

SPEAKER_02 (15:01):
Um 14 or 12.
I'm talking the regular season, not the playoffs.

SPEAKER_01 (15:09):
Oh.

SPEAKER_02 (15:13):
Quick was out.
He won like eight, his eight, eight straight games, and then
quick came back and he hardlyplayed.

SPEAKER_01 (15:21):
Let's see.
I think it was him 23-2014.
Uh, he played in uh 19 games.
He started 18.
He had 12 wins, six losses, uh33 goals against, and he faced
500 shots.
He had a uh 934 save percentageand a 1.81 goals against average

(15:46):
with four shutouts.
Like I said, he was 16th in theCalder voting that year.
Yeah, and then 14 and 15, 15games played, 11 games started,
he was 45 and 2, 29 goalsagainst 307 shots with a 906

(16:11):
safe percentage, and then a 2.24uh goals against average.
So not as good of a second year, but not bad.
And then I think Jones just islike, Well, I'm doing pretty
good, I should be starter, butthey already had quick, and then
he went to San Jose right afterthat, or and uh Boston, Boston,

(16:31):
then San Jose.

SPEAKER_02 (16:35):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But he went to uh San Jose anddidn't he take him to the
Stanley Cup, but they lost.

SPEAKER_01 (16:42):
Yes, they lost, I believe it was to Pittsburgh.
That was 2016.
Yeah, there you go.

SPEAKER_02 (16:51):
Yeah, another ex-k goes to the Stanley Cup after
the Kings get rid of him.

SPEAKER_01 (16:58):
So, yeah, all right, and then let's see.
The next bit news is the uhRangers defenseman Adam Fox is
considered week to week with anupper body injury, and they're
saying the injury should notaffect his Olympic availability.

SPEAKER_02 (17:14):
And by the way, your mom said there was a ducks game
on Wednesday night.

SPEAKER_01 (17:18):
I I mean, you know, you you know, I will neither
confirm or deny that allegation.

SPEAKER_02 (17:25):
You know, um, the sarcasm that I and you you and
your brother have is starting towear on your mom because she's
becoming sarcastic.

SPEAKER_01 (17:36):
Good, she's joining the ducks side.
Good.
What do you mean, duck side?
Duck side, very good.
She's always been a ducks fan.
No, I'm never mind.
It's a dark side play on ducks,okay?
God, I need a new host, guys.
Anyone wanna join me, please?

(17:57):
I'm pretty sure mom understoodthat reference.
I know, and I just want mom tojust send me Captain America
going like you know, fromAvengers.
I just took it.
Shall we uh see?

SPEAKER_02 (18:12):
Mom got it.
Okay, on to the next news, Cody.
It's you.
I just said the Rangers one.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, you saved all these weirdnames for me.
You planned this out, didn'tyou?

SPEAKER_01 (18:27):
All right, fine.
I'll say it.
Alexi Toro Toro Pachankochenkois week to week after sustaining
burns to his legs in a homeaccident, and that was per the
St.
Louis Blues.
It was another very weird injuryagain.

(18:49):
So, first we had Jack Hugheswith the glass on cutting his
hand.
We had another um, was it ablues player?
Or no, it was the FloridaPanthers player.
Yeah, um, he had the barbecueaccident, and then now this one.
So very weird year for axe forinjuries this year.

SPEAKER_02 (19:11):
So, on the next bit of news, the NHL's putting in
you cannot barbecue during theNHL season.
No, um, blues.

SPEAKER_01 (19:22):
I that was just heard Gary Spink on Royally
Quacked.

SPEAKER_02 (19:28):
There you go.
You you know, I wouldn't doubtif some NHL teams might make
that part of a contract.
We probably will never hearabout it because they don't want
people to know.

SPEAKER_01 (19:40):
But if this is like the third third time someone's
been burned somewhere somehow, second time someone's been
burned, the other one was aglass cut.
Um, but per Cody and Gary onRoyal Equaced, everyone in the
NHL.
If you play, you get your ownpersonal chef to make you food,
and they have to spoon feed youeverything.

(20:02):
That way you don't cut your handlike uh Jack Hughes did.
Yeah, you don't get to cut yourwaffles, you don't get to or cut
your steak.
Nope, they do it for you, theyspoon feed you, or they put it
in a blender and you drink itthrough a straw.
That way, there's no injuries, nobody can choke, nobody can
stab themselves.
Everyone stays safe.
You heard it here on RoyallyQuack and you heard it here

(20:23):
first.

SPEAKER_02 (20:23):
Royally quacked breaking news.
Okay, back to back to leaguenews for uh blues forward Jimmy
Snuggerood will undergo surgeryfor a left wrist injury and will
be reevaluated in six weeks.
I loved watching him on teamUSA.
He's he's a great player.

(20:43):
I mean, I'd like to have him onour team.
Maybe he could score a goal.

SPEAKER_01 (20:51):
Well, I'm pretty sure if he went to the Kings, he
ain't scoring.
Probably true.
Um, speaking of blues forward,Nathan Walker has been placed on
IR and will miss at least eightweeks with an upper body injury.
Wow, we got a lot of injuries.
That's the third blues playerthat is injured this last week.

SPEAKER_02 (21:13):
The Flyers have announced Tyson Forrester will
be out two to three months withan upper body injury.

SPEAKER_01 (21:23):
Wow.
I'm gonna skip.
Oh no, not that one.
Um, Tyler Sagan has an A uh ALACL injury and will be out long
term.

SPEAKER_02 (21:34):
I heard it was for the season.

SPEAKER_01 (21:37):
I think it's probably for the season too, and
that's probably gonna be.
I know it's sad news that theDallas Stars are losing him, but
at the same time, if he's outfor the whole year, it works in
their favor even more in DallasStars' favor now, because with
his was it nine and a halfmillion cap hit, if he if they

(21:57):
declare him out for the wholeyear, um they can use the full
nine and a half million cap forthe season in the playoffs.
But if he's eligible to comeback, they can only use like
what 3.8 million, I believe whatit is, because of the new CBA

(22:19):
rules that they implementing.
So they could look it looks likeDallas could be a big team
that's gonna be adding addingsomeone.
And mom says, Honey, I know youhave the wrong one.

SPEAKER_02 (22:30):
I have the wrong hat on.
I wore it on purpose.
Go Rams, yeah.
Go Rams.

SPEAKER_01 (22:36):
I'm uh all right, we'll skip the next one and
we'll uh go to the the next one.

SPEAKER_02 (22:43):
The NHL has announced the 2026 Heritage
Classic will take place onOctober 25th with the Winnipeg
Jets hosting the MontrealCanadians at Princess Auto
Stadium in Winnipeg.
Yeah, that's awesome.

SPEAKER_01 (23:04):
Um, the next bit of news is the Tampa Bay Lightning
have signed pending UFAdefenseman Ryan McDonough to a
three-year extension worth 4.1million AAV.
Wow.

SPEAKER_02 (23:20):
And a judge has ruled that the case involving
retired NHL player Ryan Kessler, who faces two misdemeanor counts
of criminal sexual conduct, willproceed to trial.
The alleged victim is a now17-year-old girl who was a

(23:41):
friend of his daughter.
That's sad.

SPEAKER_01 (23:46):
That is very sad, yes.
All right, and then the the lastbit of news the main arena,
which is still not fully builtyet for the NHL, or not the NHL,
the hockey Olympics for inMilan.
Um, we'll have a sheet of icethat is 90 196.85 feet by 85.3

(24:12):
feet, which is more than threefeet shorter than the NHL
standard dimensions.
The NHL has no control over theconstruction of the new rink,
and concerns within the leagueare growing.
The league is still committed tomaking it work per Emily Kaplan
of ESBN.
And I also heard that if thereis no if the if it's nothing's

(24:37):
finished, nobody's going.
And that was per um can'tremember his first name, but uh
Daly is his last name.
Uh yeah, Bob I know who you'retalking about.
Some like something like that.
Jim Daly, I I can't remembersome white guy name.
Um Daly.
Um so yeah, and he said no one'sgoing.

(25:01):
If but I didn't know this.
So the the rink is uh 200 feetlong, so it's over three feet
shorter, it's a foot widerthough, right?
It's 84 feet wide.
They're saying they're sayingit's no like 0.3 feet wider, so
like three inches, isn't it likeyeah, or like something like

(25:24):
that?
It's like barely a little bitwider.
Um, but I didn't know this, butI guess in the Nashville
Pittsburgh um global series gamein was it Sweden?
I guess they had the samedimension.
So what they did was with themissing three feet, they just

(25:46):
took it out of the neutral zoneand kept the offensive zones the
exact same standard.
And then Anaheim El Grand Pato,Scotty on Instagram says, Let's
go, Ducks.
Amen to that.
So things are not looking good,uh, very good in Milan right
now.

(26:07):
Um arena wise.

SPEAKER_02 (26:09):
You know they're gonna play.

SPEAKER_01 (26:11):
I hope so.

SPEAKER_02 (26:12):
No, they'll play.
Yeah.
They'll work it out.
It's gonna get played.
It it it would it would hurthockey if they don't play.

SPEAKER_00 (26:22):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (26:23):
And we need hockey, hockey to keep growing.

SPEAKER_01 (26:27):
True.
But there's nothing the NHL cando.
So uh ready again to gamerecaps.
Yes.
Alright, I'll I'll go first justbecause I have one one extra
game and it'll it and then we'lljust switch off.
Sounds good to me.

(26:49):
Alright.
Get to talk about these fungames.
So last Sunday, the Ducks werein Chicago playing the
Blackhawks, and the Ducksstarted very hot this game.
Um, in the first period, CutterGautier scored his 15th of the

(27:09):
season, 15 seconds in.
That's right, you heard 15seconds in.
Uh, Cutter Gautier tied JoshManson, um, who also scored 15
seconds in on November 28th,2018, uh, for the second fastest
goal to start a game in Duckshistory.
The record is held by none otherthan Paul Korea, who did it in

(27:32):
eight seconds on March 9th,1997.
But it doesn't stop there.
Olen Zellweger got his fifth ofthe season at the 47 second mark
of the uh of the first period.
So with a not even the firstminute has passed, and the ducks

(27:52):
are already up to nothing.
Uh, by the way, Terry andCarlson each had the assist on
the first goal, and they eachhave 21 assist.
And on the second goal, Terrygot his 22nd assist, and Cutter
got his 15th assist of the year.
And then at the 10-25 mark,Chris Kreider uh scores his 12th

(28:13):
of the year, Seneca his 12thassist, McTavish's 13th assist
to make it 3-0 Anaheim off of adeflected shot.
Ducks were just straight updominating at this point, and
then somehow someone took Ican't remember who took the
penalty at this time.
Um, but Tyler Batuzzi got apower play goal to make it 3-1

(28:39):
uh ducks, and that was the firstperiod.
And after that, it was allBlackhawks.
The ducks just pretty muchstopped wanting to play.
They just they're like, Yeah, wewe gotta, you know, we scored
three goals in the first 10minutes of the game.
We're good, we're set.
Uh no.
Um, Ryan Green at the 643 markin the second period got his

(29:03):
fourth of the year to make it3-2 Anaheim, and then Colton
Dock.
Yes, that last name does soundfamiliar.
That is Kirby Doc's youngerbrother, uh, scored his third
goal on the power play, and nowit's 3-3 Anaheim, or yeah, 3-3
tied now.
So now we go into the thirdperiod, and I we had a this is

(29:26):
when Mirazik got hurt, so ViliHusso came in.
Uh, I want to say Vili Hussocame in like what?
I want to say like what was like12 12 third 12 to 13 minutes
left in the third period, andthen Connor Bedard unassisted
got his 15th year to make it 4-3Chicago.

(29:47):
One, that's not Husso's faultbecause all the ducks just
decided, oh, we got possession, fly the zone, let's get out of
here.
But nope, they turned the puckover.
Bedard was all by himself rightin front of a very cold Villy
Husso, and he, I mean, Bedardright there is gonna score.

(30:07):
It's there's no doubt about it.
So he got his 15th of the yearto make it uh 4-3, and then
Bedard um got the empty netterto make it 5-3 Chicago, and that
was his 16th of the year, sothat's your final is 5-3.
Um, little known fact is ifBedard played the Ducks every

(30:30):
game, he's probably gonna beatWayne Gretzky's record in no
time, uh, point record.
So here's all Bedard's statsagainst the Ducks.
In his first game against theDucks, he had one assist.
Um, in the second game, he hadone goal, four assists for five
points that night.

(30:51):
And then uh the third game, thatlast game of that year on March
21st, 2024, he had zero points.
First time the ducks held heldhim pointless.
The next game, um, November 3rd,2024, three assists.
November 19th, 24, two assists.
And believe it or not, I wasactually at this game, and I

(31:12):
actually thought he had a lotmore points than this.
But on March 1st, 2025, yes, Iwas at this game because I was
very mad.
Um, he got zero points, andsomehow the ducks still lost six
to three, and then uh um October19th of this year, uh 2025, he
had one assist, and then thislast game, two goals, two

(31:35):
assists, four points.
So in eight games, 16 points, three goals, 13 assists, and we
still have to play him one moretime.
Let's just say Bedard is a duckkiller.
For once, I would like to knowthat the ducks are killing teams
like Bedard kills the ducks.

(31:56):
That would be nice to know foronce.

SPEAKER_02 (31:58):
So, what you're saying when they go duck season,
rabbit season, Bedard's goingit's duck season.
Yeah, okay, easily got it.

SPEAKER_01 (32:07):
There is no other season for Bedard, yeah, pretty
much.
Um, let's see, but uh the threestars of the game.
Uh Batuzi was the number threestar with the one goal and one
point.
Um green was the number two starwith the one goal, and then of
course, Bedard is the number onewith the two goals, two assists

(32:28):
for four points.
Um, I just realized I didn't putup the thing.
Oh, let me make that fullscreen.
Give me a second.
There you go.
Make that nice and big for youguys.
Yep.
The shots on goal 26 to 18.

(32:50):
We won the face offs 53.7 to46.3.
Power play was crap again.
Oh for three.
Well, uh, they were two forfour.
We out hit them 22 to 15.
Spencer Knight is just a dog.
He, you know, he's looking good.
He stopped uh 23 uh shots out of26.

(33:12):
Uh Mrazic stopped uh 13 out of16.
I thought who so had more, I sawhim make another save, but I
guess they just didn't count it.
But they're saying he only hadone shot on goal, and that was
the only shot, and that was theBadard uh go-ahead goal.
So that is it for that one.

(33:35):
Okay, want to move on to youryour game.

SPEAKER_02 (33:38):
Yes, uh we played the Vancouver Canucks, and let's
get to the scoring real quick, and it started good.
And after the first period, theKings are up one to nothing.

(34:04):
But just as our power play endsin the second period, Vander
Kane, who's just he's I think aKing's killer, at least one of
many, um, he comes out of thebox, gets a breakaway, and ties

(34:26):
it up at the 252 mark of thesecond period.
Assist from O'Connor, his fifth, and Myers his sixth.
Third period, a lot of action, but no scoring.
So we go to overtime, and inovertime, it's uh Adrian Kempe

(34:50):
on a snapshot at the 358 mark, giving the Kings a win in
overtime for once, assisted byByfield as 15th and Fiala his
eighth.
And you know, we start off theweek with a victory.
Yay! And let's go to the stats.

(35:16):
The Kings out shoot uh theCanucks 23-20.
We lose in face-offs 53 to 47.
The Canucks were 0 for 3.
We were 0 for 4 on the powerplay, which somehow we better
start fixing, or we're nevergonna we're not gonna be a
playoff team if we don't fixthat.

(35:39):
Hits were 16 for the Canucks, 14for the Kings, block shots, 13
for the Canucks, 11 for theKings.
Of course, we win this one justabout every game.
Giveaways.
We gave away 15, they gave away11, and the Canucks had six
takeaways, we had four.
Let's go to the three stars ofthe game, and they're all kings.

(36:03):
Kopitar is the third star with agoal.
The second star was uh AntonForrestberg, uh, with a save
percentage of 950 and uh goalsagainst of 0.95, and then Adrian
Kempe, the number one star witha goal and an assist, and that's

(36:26):
game one.

SPEAKER_01 (36:27):
Yep.
Uh, real quick on Instagramlive, Anaheim El Grand Pato
Scotty.
I will get to your question whenwe get to that game later.
Uh, I just want to give them aheads up.
So now we'll move on to let'ssee if I can pull it up.
Boom.
All right.
So Ducks played the blues onMonday in St.

(36:51):
Louis.
Let's get this thing up.
Boom.
And boop.
There we go.
Um, the ducks win this one fourto one over the St.
Louis Blues, which is now ourfirst win over the St.
Louis Blues in almost fouryears.
You heard that right.
Four years that was our firstwin.
Crazy.

(37:12):
Um, Mason McTavish got thescoring started with his sixth
goal year, with a sweet play byBeckett Seneca to get his 13th
assist of the year.
That made it 1-0.
Anaheim at the 633 mark.
And then Jordan Cairou uh gotthe scoring started for St.
Louis, uh, got his eighth of theyear to make it one one tie.

(37:36):
And then Pavel Minchikov um gotuh scored, and right after this,
that was the ducks um secondgoal on five shots.
And I'm not gonna lie, both uhgoals were pretty lucky.
I'm not gonna lie, uh, for theducks because Jordan Bennington

(37:58):
was just crap, and then rightafter the mid shakov goal, he
got pulled.
And let's just say he had veryharsh words to uh Jim
Montgomery.
So uh then uh Joe Holford camein, and so then we had no
scoring in the second period, and then the third period it was
all ducks.
Uh Leo Carlson got his 14th ofthe year assists from Gudis and

(38:22):
Minchikov to make it three uhthree one Anaheim, and that was
off a tipping shot at the 558mark, and then Chris Kreider got
the last goal on the emptynetter.
Uh, that was his 13th of theyear.
Leo Carlson's 22nd assist of theyear.
So the Ducks win this one 4-1 inSt.

(38:43):
Louis.
Like I said, the first timewe've beaten St.
Louis in almost four years.
Here are the stats.
The Ducks outshot them 26 to 22.
We got demolished in theface-off percent uh percentage,
but what a shocker.
Uh St.
Louis had a 64.8 to the Ducks35.2.
Both teams were 0 for on thepower play, and I'm not gonna

(39:06):
lie, the refs were bad in thisgame.
I s I swear they were like therefs were just calling like
every little thing on the ducksin this game.
Like, I think Calorne literallylike was like, hey Kairu, and
then up penalty, you can'tbreathe on Kairu.

(39:27):
It that's what it seemed like.
It was very soft calls, and theyweren't calling it both ways,
just put it that way.
Um, but at least the ducks heldthem um goalless on the power
play, so that's good.
Uh, we did out shoot uh out hitthem 17 to 15.
Um, and then the Husso stoppeduh 21 shots out of 22.

(39:49):
As I said before, Bennington umstopped three out of five, and
then Hopper stopped 19 out of 20because uh you know the empty
knitter doesn't go towards him,so yeah, and then oops, don't
want to show that.

SPEAKER_00 (40:08):
I don't want to see that any more than you guys do.

SPEAKER_01 (40:11):
Okay, uh Kevin said uh I uh I watched the St.
Louis game and last night'sDucks game against the Caps.
Man, they are so much fun towatch.
They are fun.
I'm glad you said those twogames alone and not the other
one in the middle.

SPEAKER_02 (40:28):
Yeah, Jesse Cohen uh you know texted me and said,
Wow, they sucked.
Oh, he oh, he texted you.
No, I'm just kidding.

SPEAKER_01 (40:39):
Oh, I was gonna say I was like, wow, all right.

SPEAKER_02 (40:42):
Uh I just thought I'd throw some more misery on
that one game that you're gonnatalk about next.

SPEAKER_01 (40:47):
Oh, that's gonna be a very quick recap.
Very quick.
I like I don't we're talkingabout Guinness World Book of
Records recap.
Yeah, I missed the most fun onein the middle.
That was not the most fun one,Kevin.
Okay, not the most fun one.
All right, you want to move onto yours?

SPEAKER_02 (41:10):
Sure, let's go.
We play the Washington Capitals.
Let's go to the scoring in thefirst period Tom Wilson gets.
His 16th on the power play fromLeonard is ninth and Ovechkin is
14th.
Yeah, Tom Wilson's having anall-star season right now.

(41:32):
Yeah.
He's got to be in the top 10 or15 in goal scored.
Looking, he's he's looking likea superstar right now.
So after the first period, itwas one-nothing capitals.
The kings do get on the board.
Adrian Kempe once again gets hisninth from Copatar his ninth,

(41:56):
and Moore his seventh at the 528mark on a tip in.
And after two periods, we'retied one-one.
Go to the third period.
And Anthony Beauvilli.

SPEAKER_01 (42:14):
Beauvillier.

SPEAKER_02 (42:15):
Beauvillier.
Thank you.
Gets a six for McMichael, his11th, and Ovechkin is 15th at
the 118 mark.
So right at the third period, and Washington's up two to one.
Kings pull the goalie, or yeah, pull the goalie, you know, got

(42:37):
quite a few attempts, but justcouldn't.

SPEAKER_01 (42:52):
Is it me or is it or did we lose dad?
I don't know what's going on,Dad, or did we lose you, or am I
the one getting stuck?
Oh, okay, cool.
Because we've had it where Ididn't hear my dad on the

(43:14):
stream, and I'm like, wait, what's going on?
So it's not me this time.
Cool.
Alright, um, I don't know wherehe left off.
Dad, if you're out there, saycream cheese.
Nope.
Okay.

(43:35):
Well my dad's very uh okay, let's go.
I think he had to restart hiscomputer.
So I'll just do uh I don't Idon't know if he went over all
the goals.
Um, but yeah, Potras scored umthe empty netter to make it uh

(44:00):
3-1, and that was the end ofthat.
And we'll move on to the shotson goal.
Each team had 25 shots on ongoal.
Uh the kings lost the face-offpercentage 53 to point 0.1 to
46.9 percent.
Um uh the kings were 0 for 2 onthe power play.

(44:22):
Uh Washington was 1 for 2.
They were uh Capitals outhit theKings 20 to 13, but that's not a
shocker.
And then Logan Thompson stopped24 out of 25 shots, and Kemper
stopped 22 out of 24.
And then let me pull up thestats for the three stars for

(44:45):
you guys.
Hey, it's just me.
It's weird.
All right, give me a second topull it up because I was not
expecting my dad's internet togo out.
Let's see, the three stars ofthe game would be uh Adrian
Kempe with the one goal for onepoint is the number three star.

(45:07):
Uh Ovechkin is the number twostar with two assists for two
points, and Anthony Bevelierwith the one goal uh and one
point is the number one star.
So that would be it for the uhfor the Washington Capitals
game, and then I'll pull up mygame.

(45:29):
Let's see, the game I reallydon't want to talk about.
Uh okay, Gary's paused on my endtoo.
Great, it's not just me.
Um, it's just um Thompson andKemper should both be considered
for Canada.
Um it seems odd that they're notboth shoe-ins for no, I
completely agree with you.

(45:51):
I think um Thompson and Kempershould both be on Team Canada
because Biddington's been crap.
Um Aiden Hill's been hurt allyear, and then what's the other
one?
Um Montabeau hasn't been verygood, and those are the three
goalies for Canada for Nations.

(46:11):
So I think it should be Thompsonum Tamper and oh god, what's his
name?
What's the other goalie's name?
Um, that's Canadian that'splaying well right now.
I can't remember.
Are you back?
Yeah, I don't know whathappened.
I I already I already finishedyour game for you.

(46:32):
Oh, great.
Yep.
All right.
Are we ready for this next gamefor me?
I guess so.
So did I lose internetconnection?
Yeah, you froze, and it wasn'tme this time.
Kevin confirmed it with me.
Adam says it's just Gary beingold.

SPEAKER_02 (46:55):
Well, there we go.
There you go.
Makes up for Jesse, right now.

SPEAKER_01 (47:00):
Alright.
Um, so all right.
Here, read, and then there,read.
Alright, on to your game.
Is that it?
I don't want to talk about it.
Um, long story short, Duckssucked that game.

(47:22):
And welcome to the uh NHLVadaslav the Titans.
He came in in the third periodand gave up more goals.
I really don't want to talkabout that game whatsoever.
It was not good from beginningto end at all.

(47:43):
Okay, so on onto your game.
There we go.
That that's it for the that mygame.
Okay, so I don't want to talkabout it anymore.

SPEAKER_02 (47:55):
Okie dokie.
Uh, Thursday, we play theBlackhawks at home, and of
course, there's no scoring inthe first.
It was uh back and forth.
Um, but in the second period, duck killer Connor Bedard gets
his 18th on the power play fromBertuzzi his 10th and Nazar his

(48:15):
14th, and it's 1-0 Chicago.
Then Wyatt Kaiser gets his firstfrom Nazer his 15th, and Moore
his fifth on a wrist shot justbefore the second period ends,
and Chicago goes into the thirdperiod, beating the Kings two to

(48:36):
nothing.
Then Trevor Moore in the thirdperiod, Trevor Moore gets his
fourth from Warren Fogle, hisfirst.
He only has one assist.
No wonder we can't score.
It's it just seems to be aproblem.
We can't score.

SPEAKER_01 (48:51):
I mean, it's hard to have scoring leaders when you
only score like one to two goalsa game.

SPEAKER_02 (48:57):
So it's now 2-1 Chicago, and that's how the game
ends.
I mean, like I said, I can't bemore disappointed right now in
the way the Kings are playing.
I'm all for give the boardcontrol.
Let's get out of what we'redoing, let's try to at least
play some exciting hockey.
If we're gonna lose, let's playexciting hockey.

(49:18):
But we got outshot 36 to 27, 36to 27 by the Blackhawks.
We in the face-off circle, itwas 55.9 percent for us, 44.1
percent for them, but they wereone for three on the power play,
and our pathetic power play wasanother 0 for 4.

(49:40):
Hits, we outhid them 20 to 13block shots, they got us 25-20.
Uh, giveaways, we win that oneevery game, 19 to 15, and
takeaways.
We lose that one.
They had six, we had four.
We go to the three stars of thegame, and it better I'll be
Chicago, but it's not Kemperactually was awesome in this

(50:02):
game.
They should have probably scoredseven goals, but you know, he
had a 944 save percentage, uh,210 uh goals against average as
the third star.
Was the second star with twoassists, and Kaiser uh was a
number one star with one goal.

(50:24):
Yeah, at least they got it.
Okay, one game, you guys don'tget a goal.
Okay, so we had four goals andthree games.
You guys at least you're scoringalmost four or five goals a
game, except for Utah.

SPEAKER_01 (50:44):
Shut up, Adam.
Uh, and agreed what Adam said asad debut for ECHL goalie.
Yeah, so Vladislav Batayetsstarted in the ECHL this year,
then got moved up to the AHL,and then now he's a backup right
now for the ducks.
So I guess I'm not blamingwhatever the whatever happened

(51:07):
on Wednesday.
I didn't watch that third pairbecause I had to go to sleep for
work, and then I woke up and sawthe score.
I'm like, yep, it's not worthwatching.
Um, that's why I didn't want toeven really talk about that game
because it wasn't even good atall for anything.
Um, I'm not blaming any goaliesfor that loss.
I it is it was everyone I'mblaming for that loss, down to

(51:30):
the guy that was passing outpopcorn.
No, I'm just kidding.
Um yeah, he skipped you, right?
Yeah, he skipped me, bastard.
No, I'm just kidding.
Um, but like that was just afull Anaheim ducks team loss on
Wednesday.
That's I don't that's whythere's really nothing to talk
about.
Everyone sucked on that one.

(51:50):
Um, but yeah, uh uh it was a saddebut for Petites on that.
And then Kevin says Kemperlooked like he was wondering
where his help was all night.
Don't blame Kings players fortheir frustrations at the
moment.
This is really tough stretch.

SPEAKER_02 (52:06):
It is a tough stretch.
I'm frustrated.

SPEAKER_01 (52:10):
So all right, and then to the game that just
happened last night.
Let me get everything sorted outon this one.
Last game we need to talk about.
At least this one is at leastthis one was was exciting.
Um but here it is.
Bam.
So the ducks uh host theWashington Capitals, and Tom

(52:33):
Wilson got the scoring startedon this one with the 17th of the
year, uh, to make it one-nothinguh capitals, and then Cutter
Gautier on it.
I mean, I I don't know how manytimes I'm gonna say this, but
Beckett Seneca is the mainreason why this goal even
happened.
Um, Cutter Gautier got his 16thgoal of the year to tie it up

(52:54):
1-1, and then Seneca got his uh14th assist of the year, and
Jackson Lacomb also got anassist on that play, and then
Ethan Frank in the second periodgot the scoring started
unassisted and to make it 2-1capitals.
That was his fourth of the year, and then Ross the boss Johnston

(53:15):
with his second goal of the yearon a tipping shot to tie it up
2-2.
What I mean, is is Ross the bosslike now?
Like, what the hell's going on?
I'm liking it.
Um, Gudis with his fourth assistof the year and Zellwerger's
sixth assist of the year.
So now we're tied to two, andthat was at the 6'19 mark in the

(53:39):
second period, and then AlexiProtoss got uh his ninth goal of
the year to make it 3-2capitals, and that was just a
little over a minute and 20seconds later.
But back at Seneca again makingplays, gets his eighth of the
year to make it three-three.

(53:59):
And guess who got the assist?
Ross, the boss Johnston.
Yep, you heard that right.
Ross Johnston, not the humantraffic cone anymore.
No, he's not right now, he'snot.
He's playing like a boss.
Okay.
Um, so now we're tied 3-3, andthen we go into overtime.

(54:21):
And all I can tell you is LoganThompson should be the number
one starter for Canada.
Because if it wasn't for LoganThompson, the Ducks would have
scored like 10 goals inovertime.
I know it's not possible, butthe Ducks were just dominating,
they had plenty of shots.
Thompson stood on his head.
I I could have sort of he evenmade like a little like sliding

(54:43):
kick, um, like like old DomakaHashik kind of move with a pad
set.
It it was like I said, he wasplaying crazy in this game.
Um, but the ducks go intoshootout, and now we're gonna
get into um what uh one of ourquestions was from the Instagram

(55:05):
live.
Um, Anaheim L.
Grand Pato Scotty says, What doyou think about the Leo Carlson
shootout goal?
Um, I think the ducks shouldhave had all three goals scored
on this one.
Um I my dad says otherwise, butI think it was still one shot
because it looked like the puckwas on a stick the whole time.

(55:27):
Just saying.
They said it was a second shot.
I did not see it.
I watched it.

SPEAKER_02 (55:34):
It I could see that it looked like there was a
second time.
No, uh it went to the wholevideo review, it was pretty easy
to see everything.
It wasn't like crazy secondshot, it was just slightly
moving.
It didn't really matter, theywon, anyways.

SPEAKER_01 (55:54):
Yeah, but uh even Kevin says uh Thompson was
unbeliev unbelievable inovertime.
That cartwheel save was insane.
Yep, see, told you.

SPEAKER_02 (56:03):
Yeah, Kevin, he's one of my fantasy goalies.

SPEAKER_01 (56:06):
Yeah, it's a great goalie to have.
Um, I think it I think Carlson'sgoal should accounted because I
think that goal was going in nomatter what, because if you look
at Thompson's leg, it was goingback the whole time because of

(56:27):
the way he was moving.
So I think no Eve no matterwhat, that puck was going in.
So, but I digress.
Uh, we're gonna move on.
We're gonna finish uh the stats, the ducks outshot uh Washington.
Oh, let me get the stats up now.
Uh here we go.

(56:49):
Um the the ducks did outshootthem uh 38 to 21.
The ducks win a shootout or notshootout, the face-off 5-4 or 54
to 46.
Uh both teams were over on thepower play.
The ducks just can't seem to umto score on the power play

(57:12):
anymore.
Um, we got out hit 21 to 18.
Um, but Vili Hussa was fantasticthis game.
He stopped 18 shots out of 21.
Thompson stopped 35 out of 38,which is crazy.
Um, but the the Carlson goalshould have counted, but Terry's

(57:33):
was was great, and then McTavishjust I liked how he scored his
goal because the first two thathe scored this year, he put a
five-hole on each of thegoalies, so I think that's what
Thompson was thinking becausethat's what McTavish has been
doing, but then he no, he shootsbefore that, and just I think he
just stuns Thompson on that.

(57:55):
So great, great all-around gamefrom the the ducks on this one.
Um, I'm gonna get the threestars uh up, and then uh we'll
get to the comments.
Uh, three stars of the game.
Uh Ross Johnson with the uh wasa number three star with one

(58:17):
goal, one assist for two points.
Carlson was the number two star, and and then Beckett Seneca was
the number one with the onegoal, one assist for two points.
And then uh Adam says, uh thatTerry double clutch or double
touch goal.
Carlson really could go eitherway, it's a matter of

(58:37):
perception.
Well, my perception is right.
That's all I'm gonna say onthat.
Um, but you know, uh now we whatdo you want to go to next?
Uh game predictions.

SPEAKER_02 (58:53):
Let's do it because we suck at it.
That's sure.
We're we're both under 500 afterlast week.
I went two and one.
What a shock.
And I'm now a 11 and 16 for theseason.
And what am I you went one andthree?

(59:14):
Okay, and you're 13 and 15.
Okay, we're so we're bad.
We're well, I'm really bad.
You just got worse than youwere.
You you were doing okay for Ihave been terrible all season.
Yeah, it's just the opposite oflast year.
I seem to be able to do a betterjob than you, but you had a

(59:36):
great comeback last year andmade it close.

SPEAKER_01 (59:39):
Yeah, uh, Adam put Thompson expected five hole,
McTavish surprised uh surprisedhim with glove glove side.
Yeah, I agreed.
Like he definitely surprisedhim, and I like that move that
uh McTavish did.

SPEAKER_02 (59:52):
Yeah, I'm surprised.
You know, he kind of hesitatedright there.
That's where you come out andcut the angle off, and Thompson
didn't do that.
Um, that might have stopped thatgoal, but McTavish got him right
where he wanted him, and hestayed there.
That Thompson has to come outand like try to poke check that
that puck away from him.

(01:00:14):
He didn't do it, so so good forMcTavish.
That was I that was an awesomeshot, yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (01:00:22):
So sure, all right.
Um, you you want to do yourpredictions real quick?

SPEAKER_02 (01:00:27):
Yes, today the Kings play Chicago.
Hopefully, we get retribution.
I'm I'm praying for goalscoring.
Maybe I should just put a one ora zero by the kings, but I
didn't, so I'm hoping for achange of offensive something

(01:00:48):
for the Kings.
Uh today they play Chicagoagain.
I have them winning 3-2.
Monday they play Utah.
I have them losing 5-3.
I I Utah.
I like Utah.
Uh I think they're up and Ithink they're up and coming.
Um, and then they play theKraken, and I have the Kings

(01:01:10):
beating the Kraken 5 4.
I know I probably that's crazy,but I'm just hoping to get for
the Offense to start gettinggoing because it's boring right
now.
They're playing boring hockey,it's not exciting.

SPEAKER_01 (01:01:29):
Um, Kevin says, uh, I'll be at the Seattle game on
Wednesday, my first Kings gameof the season.
I hope Gary's prediction isright.
Thanks, Kevin.
Oh, wait, Kevin, how do you doyou live in the Seattle uh area?

SPEAKER_02 (01:01:42):
Yeah, he's in Washington, right?

SPEAKER_01 (01:01:44):
Oh, uh production.
The word is offensiveproduction.
I I don't remember what yousaid.

SPEAKER_02 (01:01:52):
Uh yes, Mr.
Brawl, Mr.
Teacher Brawl.
Thank you for the the correctionon grammar.
I appreciate it.

SPEAKER_01 (01:02:00):
Um, but um I I I can I I didn't know you were oh, I
live uh I live on the Canadianborder in Washington, so about
an hour and a half from Seattle.
Oh, okay.
Cool.
All right, and then mypredictions um the ducks play
tomorrow, Sunday, um I againstthe Blackhawks, and we finally

(01:02:25):
get to play at the pond againstthem.
And I'm predicting a 4-2 winbecause I do not want to get
swept by the Blackhawks thisyear, and where we should have
won each of those games.
Um, and then the ducks will playin Pittsburgh to start the
five-game road trip, and I'mgonna I'm gonna predict a 4-3
loss to Pittsburgh, and then theDucks will play uh on Long

(01:02:49):
Island against the Islanders.
I'm predicting a 5-3 win, andthen I'm just doing this one
just because by the time werecord next week and everything,
this game will already beplaying, so I'm just gonna
predict it now before thepodcast starts.
Um, but the ducks will beplaying in New Jersey against
the Devils next Saturday, andI'm also predicting a 5-3 win on

(01:03:12):
that one.

SPEAKER_02 (01:03:13):
Should I write that down?

SPEAKER_01 (01:03:15):
Yes, for next week, because that game starts at 9 30
in the morning.

SPEAKER_02 (01:03:21):
Okay, um, go you have uh ducks beaten Chicago
4-2.
What was Pittsburgh?
Pittsburgh a 4-3 loss.
And a win against uh Islanderswas it 5-3?

SPEAKER_01 (01:03:36):
5-3 and then a 5-3, both last two 5-3 wins.
Yeah, if anyone has anyquestions, drop them in the chat
now because we already got twoquestions.
Um, I'll start with uh DeSun onInstagram.
He put, do you have a take onthe quickly disapproved Peter
Debore rumor of being in talkswith LA?

(01:04:00):
So it's towards you, Dad.
I gotta tell you, we're playingnot fun hockey.

SPEAKER_02 (01:04:09):
You know, if I'm gonna lose, I'd rather lose 5'4
than 2-1.
You know, we're we're barelyscoring.
I I'm ready for a change.
Me personally, I'm ready for achange.
Yeah, and I know there's otherhockey.
I have a guy at work, he's beencalling for Hillers since before
the season started, you know, and Deborah is a proven guy that

(01:04:34):
he he's not liked by players, but he has a proven to improve
that team, and he gets results.
It may not be a Stanley Cup yet,but he gets close, and that's
better than we've been doing.
Yeah, so that would be my takeon that.

SPEAKER_01 (01:04:54):
Yep, and uh Kevin agrees.
Give the boar the keys, let himtake over and do things his way.
This hockey is nauseating.
Thank you, Kevin.
Yeah, um, all right, and then wehave another one from Adam Broll
on Instagram.
Um, with the current goaltendingstruggle going on for the ducks,
why do the kings still suck?

(01:05:19):
It took a turn.
It didn't.
That question took a turn.
It did.

SPEAKER_02 (01:05:24):
Um I can't even I don't even have to answer that
one.
The the thing about the ducks,to be honest with you, their
goaltending isn't what's winninggames for them.
It's it's there, they they'vebeen incredibly good

(01:05:46):
offensively.
Take away the one game thisweek, you know.
Uh I think Husso's been fine ingoal.
Yeah, I I don't think he's hurtthem.
And I I didn't, I mean, uhDostal has been good, but I
thought he was better last year,to be honest with you.

(01:06:07):
He said the reason they won wasbecause of Dostal.
They're not that's not true thisseason, so well and that's my
take on that.
Uh Cody, but that's a duckquestion.
Why didn't you go with it?

SPEAKER_01 (01:06:19):
So I agree to a certain point.
I think last year the ducks hadto rely on Dolstall more because
we weren't scoring as much lastyear.
So I think that's why Dostal wasbetter last year.
I do deagree with you on that.
And but I think that's whyDostal hasn't like he's been
good this year, but he hasn'tsaid that he hasn't had to been

(01:06:41):
as good just because we'rescoring more, there's more to
his game, and we don't have umVoldemort coaching like last
year.
The the he hit who should not benamed.
Um but you said Voldemort.
I'd rather say Voldemort.
Um, Adam says, I like King'shockey right now.

SPEAKER_02 (01:07:01):
Yeah, Jesse Cohen says never mind, I'm not gonna
say it.
Yeah, don't um he he was funnywith Cody, he'd be really harsh
on you, Adam.

SPEAKER_01 (01:07:12):
Oh, it was funny.
I mean, if I could take it, Adamcan easily take it.
Um, I think Adam's hurt a lotworse than playing hockey and
being in the military alone, orwhen he umpired, or umpired,
yeah, that's for sure.
Um, what was gonna say, but I Ithink with that, like, yeah,

(01:07:33):
Dostal's been was better lastyear because he had to be better
last year, yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (01:07:39):
Because so I don't think their goaltending, even
now.
I mean, obviously, the Utah gamewas that was a whole north
thing.

SPEAKER_01 (01:07:48):
I'm not blaming that that was just Layman Batites.

SPEAKER_02 (01:07:52):
That was a whole team that that was that that
would the team just didn't playwell that game, but they what
did they do?
They come back and they beat theCapitals, who are a pretty good
team, yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (01:08:03):
Yeah, and we can't we stayed with them the whole
time and everything.
So, like I said, it so they theystepped it up.

SPEAKER_02 (01:08:09):
So, I mean you're gonna have games where you you
suck.

SPEAKER_01 (01:08:14):
Uh, I would have stood toe-to-toe with him.
Um, I would have stoodtoe-to-toe with him.
Uh, might not have been able toshow that podcast.
And then uh Kevin also said whoso came up big with a save last
night during OT, just like hedid against LA.

(01:08:37):
And listen, who'so has not beenuh the issue at all, in my
opinion.
It's a whole team thing that'sbeen bad.
So like I said, it's not I thinkit's more the people in front of
the Duck Skoldies that have beenthe issue more than anything
else.

(01:08:58):
That's been the issue.

SPEAKER_02 (01:08:59):
The the the team defense could be stronger, yes,
and that that includes everyplayer, uh just a little bit
because I tell you, if they dothat and keep that offense
going, who's gonna stop them?
Because their offense is justfun to watch, yeah.

(01:09:21):
You know, Seneca's been a hugesurprise, yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (01:09:25):
And and he is now the rookie point leader right
now.
Yeah, well, so he's BeckettSeneca's looked fantastic.
I I mean to be honest, when Isaw him at the during the free
away face or not the the rookieface-off, and a little bit of

(01:09:45):
the preseason and training camp,I was like, Man, he needs to go
back to juniors and work on hisgame.
Like I and I think you thoughtthe same thing when at the
rookie face-off.
I did, and I gotta tell you.

SPEAKER_02 (01:10:01):
He's been a huge surprise, and he's a big reason
why you guys have played betterbecause he's he's made a
difference in quite a fewthings, but not just him.
Carlson has really taken thatpossible.
I don't I I would agree withyou, Adam.
And yeah, that's really hard forme.
That's hard for me to say.

SPEAKER_01 (01:10:39):
And they're talking about um as his nickname, the
wall from St.
Paul, uh, Jesper Wallstadt, thegoalie from uh Minnesota.
Yeah, is I mean, he has what in10 games, he's played in 10
games this year and has fourshutouts.

SPEAKER_02 (01:10:57):
Well, you know, there's a lot of competition for
that right now, yeah.
But like, but I think I thinkBeckett is right there, and and
you know, just because he's aduck, I'm not gonna say, Oh, I'd
vote for Wallstead or Schaefer.
I I would say he's the frontrunner to me.

(01:11:18):
I I I just I mean Wallsteadwould be the next.
I mean, he's uh he's been he'sbeen fantastic.

SPEAKER_01 (01:11:25):
Uh a hundred percent agree.
I'm like mom says Becca is justgetting warmed up, like and you
could tell, like, his game isinvolving each time, like in the
first like two or three games, like he was making you know,
just not the right passes, hewasn't making the right moves at
the right time, but you couldtell over time, like he's

(01:11:46):
learning, like he's not makingthe same stupid plays or the
mistakes that he was doingbefore.
He needs to clean up his uhpenalty taking.
That I wish uh I think he needsto clean up.
He's been taking a little toomany penalties, but like I said,
he's a 19-year-old rookie inthis in a very fast-paced game.

(01:12:07):
Um Leo Sywa Leo's looking like afranchise player, makes me sad
to say it, but I wish uh QuentinBiofield would play more like
him.

SPEAKER_02 (01:12:18):
Well, yeah, well said, Kevin.
Totally well said, but thenagain, if you you heard the
Jesse Cohen interview, it'sreally hard for someone to be
the number one when you're thenumber one is still there, and
he and he he asked us, and weonly had some football
references that were where theythey've maybe had tutelage like

(01:12:43):
uh Rogers with uh Favre or Lovewith Rogers, or the only one I
can think of that went reallywell, and I don't think they
ever I never heard a bad thingwas Young and Montana.
Montana got traded, Youngstepped in, you know, for but
those are all footballreferences.

(01:13:04):
So, you know, maybe next year, hopefully, Byfield's gonna step
up like Carlson has this yearbecause Carlson has been
incredible, yeah, and he looksso comfortable out there.
And when I I thought he was notprogressing until I saw him in
the uh four the face-off lastyear, the four nations, yeah.

(01:13:28):
Four nations.
He went out there and stepped upafter that.
He really did.
That's where that was a keymoment for him.
And you know, I gotta Leo's justfun to watch.
And I'm a I'm a hockey fanfirst.
I mean, I I I don't mind goingwatching him play.
Him, Seneca, and I go, can youimagine when you guys go to

(01:13:49):
Philadelphia and Gothier goes onto the ice and they're gonna
really scream because you guyswon that trade hands down.
I mean, everybody's hitting onon ducks, right?

SPEAKER_01 (01:14:06):
And I think this is mom talking about Beck and
Seneca, he's being a playmakerout there, and he is like and
you could tell, like, oh, thisducks team is definitely
different.
I'm taking away the the Utahgame, that's just a horrible
example.
But like it's a it's a totaldifferent team this year, and

(01:14:28):
like I said, it you can justtell like everyone is evolving
their play a lot, yeah.
Like Trubas looked better, likeuh, I mean, Lacomb, I mean
Lacombs, the points aren'tthere, but he's not playing bad.
Well, he started slow, he's beenpicking it up.
No, I wouldn't say points wisepoints wise, yes, but he like

(01:14:51):
his overall play was not bad.
I've I haven't had any issueswith Lacomb's game because I
think last year was differentjust because we had no offensive
support, so he was one of themain ones.
Now we have more offensivesupport, and he's playing what
he needs to do to help that.
So, like I said, I'm not worriedabout his points.

(01:15:13):
He's playing fine, in myopinion.
He's playing a lot, he's putlike I want to say he's like
seventh or eighth in time on iceaverage this year.
So I'm not worried aboutLacomb's like points as long as
he keeps playing how he he needsto play, I'm fine with it.

SPEAKER_02 (01:15:31):
You know, I I do believe he's picked it up
already, though.
No, yeah, he no, he has.
Yeah, he had a slow startoffensively, he's picked it up
lately, and you know what, he isa defenseman, and the number one
job of his as of a defenseman isto play the defense, keep keep
everybody away from theirgoalie, you know, make plays.

(01:15:53):
And I don't think he didn't.
I thought he did that in theearly part of the season, he
just wasn't scoring, so butyeah, I think he's picking it
up.
I think he's picking it up.
It's it's fun.
Uh, they're a fun team to watch.
I mean, you thought it was gonnatake three years, they they
fooled you, and they are doingit this year.

(01:16:14):
We'll see if that can besustained over a long period of
time, but right now they haven'thaven't proven that they're
going to you know fall like theydid that one December uh few
years ago, January.
Was it January?

(01:16:34):
It was after it was January, yeah.
They were in first place, andthen they ended up yeah, they
ended up not even close.
So I I can't I cannot see thathappening with this team.

SPEAKER_01 (01:16:47):
No, not with this what I've seen, not with this
coaching staff and roster,everything.
And and mom says the next fewyears are gonna be fun.
Lacomb has saved a lot of goals.
Like, see, that's another reasonwhy I'm not worried about him
because his defensive game hasgotten better.
He has saved, he's fast, he hebacks check like players.

(01:17:09):
If and that's another thing theducks are horrible at letting up
is those like uh like two onones, those fast break kind of
plays, you know, breakaways, twoon ones, three on ones, like
those, like the ducks needed toget a lot better at that.
And I say that's definitely likeI would say one of their
kryptonites like right now, it'sjust because they're all like

(01:17:30):
rush, rush, rush, and nobody'sgetting back, so it's leading to
those plays like that.

SPEAKER_02 (01:17:36):
Yeah, well, it's the dirty hockey they're missing.
Yeah, I mean it's that hockeywhere you sacrifice your offense
to make sure the team doesn'tscore, and I mean, gotta take a
look at how much they're scoringand how much fun that is to
watch, and it's hard not to getcaught up in that.
So I I mean, I I played streethockey and I wasn't very good

(01:17:59):
when I first started playing.
I got better and better, andonce I started scoring goals,
uh, there was there was a fewtimes my defense lacked and we
we got scored on, and then youknow, you have to play that
two-way hockey if you want to bea winner.
I think that's what the ducksneed to look to learn right now
and and put into their game isthat two-way hockey mentality.

(01:18:22):
You know, the whole team, all 23players on that roster are doing
that, and they could be scary ifthey do that, so yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (01:18:36):
Um yeah, anything else you want to add before we
get out of here?

SPEAKER_02 (01:18:41):
Oh, no, I have spoken.

SPEAKER_01 (01:18:45):
I have spoken.
Um, but um, like I said, everyeveryone, thank you for tuning
in to episode 91, the LeoCarlson episode.
Is that what it's called?
I mean that yeah, that's whatit's called.
It is now.
I have spoken.
Uh God, I I swear if we have aHalloween episode, we we should

(01:19:07):
just both dress up as that guy, just keep saying that the whole
episode.
Um, I have spoken.
Um, but no, everyone, thank youfor tuning in to episode 91 of
Orly Quacked.
Um, another another fantasticone with all our get our uh
comments from our listeners andeverything.

(01:19:27):
Um, even even you, Adam.
Chaos.
Even though you don't know howto spell chaos, but I'm glad you
can cause it.

SPEAKER_02 (01:19:36):
Yeah, he corrects my grammar and then he has spelling
mistakes.

SPEAKER_01 (01:19:40):
Oh my co-s um, it's a shame we have fun doing this.
Yeah, um, no, like I said, fantastic episode.
Um, be on the lookout.

SPEAKER_04 (01:21:23):
