RED Episode 267 MIDPOINT MADNESS Veterans Day 5K and Brunch at Ten Twenty-Five
SHOUT OUTS
Thanks to all our patrons and everyone in the Runcation Nation for your support and encouragement. Because of you, we have been able to keep the show going over the last two years, and now that the races are returning, we look forward to meeting up with you, too!
We received a shoutout from Judy Gerber for Linda Myers this week! She says, “Shout out to my sister-in-law Linda Myers doing her first half marathon at Wine and Dine this weekend. 💪🏻”. Way to go, Linda! We were cheering you on virtually, too! And as it turns out, Linda got a PR! Congrats, Linda.
We also want to congratulate Dean on finishing the challenge at this race weekend.
Judy was not feeling well during the half and had to DNF. Judy, we know how that feels, and we had to DNF at this race weekend a few years ago. We want you to know that the comeback is much sweeter than the setback. We can’t wait to celebrate your next finish line with you.
If you want a shoutout for you or someone you love on the show, email us at info@runeatdrink.net or call us and leave a message at 941-677-2733.
For anyone who would like a shoutout on the show, please don’t forget to send them to us. We do our best to collect weekly shoutouts, but please send them our way! Please send them to info@runeatdrink.net or call 941-677-2733!
Thank you to Joanne Blatchley and Dean Gerber, Associate Producers of our show. Thank you to Josh Ozbirn, Executive Producer of the podcast, too! We couldn’t do it without you.

RUN
This week, we recap our recent training plan updates and our local Midpoint Madness 5K for Veterans Day. We know it has been a minute since we had an episode where we shared our updates with you, so we are excited to get you up-to-date! From training for the Disneyland races to preparing for the Donna Marathon Weekend and beyond, we are letting you know what we have been training to accomplish!
Run this race if you are ever in our neck of the woods and want to see a beautiful view from a bridge over the stunning blue water. The bridge we run over is typically not closed to traffic, and it was so nice to run over it and see that water and the fantastic view of Fort Myers and Cape Coral.
Here’s a link to the race if you ever visit us in November:https://runsignup.com/Race/FL/FortMyers/MIDPOINTMADNESSVeteransDay5K
EAT
Ten Twenty-Five is a local spot in Fort Myers and Cape Coral. It has been here for a while now, and we have heard from several of our running friends how good the brunch is at the Cape Coral location. So, we decided to check it out! Dana went savory, while Aimee had the best of both worlds! We recap our excellent service and meal at this local hotspot.

DRINK
Ten Twenty-Five has some tasty signature cocktails. They have a cocktail bar in addition to the main restaurant at the Cape Coral location that is worth checking out. It has a speakeasy feel, different from the restaurant and bar right next door, but the same excellent service is available on both sides.
We indulged in the specialty Old Fashioned Menu, the innovative cocktail menu and sampled local beers on tap. All the offerings were tasty ways to toast the 5K!
