En México siempre celebramos todo con comida y las festividades de los días de Muertos no son la excepción. Las ofrendas con las que se rinde homenaje a los difuntos, incluyen sus platillos y bebidas favoritos, además de diversos elementos, como las veladoras, el papel picado y las flores de cempasúchil, que guían a esos espíritus golosos a la fiesta.
La flor de cempasúchil, rica en carotenos, no sólo sirve de ornato sino que es usada en la industria para producir colorantes naturales, así como en la medicina popular y en la gastronomía mexicana.
Y si hablamos de estas festividades es obligado hablar del pan de muerto, infaltable en toda ofrenda, con sus múltiples formas, aromas, colores y sabores de las diversas regiones del país.
