Mindf*ck Monday | Sassy Politics with Christi Chanelle
Episode Title: Charlie Kirk Is Dead and Now We’re All Targets

Episode Summary:
Charlie Kirk is dead — and America is losing its mind. In this episode, I break down the chaos since his murder: the doxxing site targeting 30,000+ people, mass firings, and the arrest of suspect Tyler Robinson — whose background and life story are a lot more complicated than the media wants you to believe.

I’ll talk about why I even had to private two of my own posts, why this moment should scare every one of us, and why honoring Kirk with flags at half-staff and a rumored statue feels like political theater funded with our dollars.

Plus, I’m digging into Fox & Friends’ “just kill ’em” moment, the ICE shooting in Illinois, and what all this means for free speech, dissent, and the future of democracy. This one is raw, honest, and very human — because I’m scared too.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
If you think the last two weeks were heavy, buckle up
, because what just went downwith Charlie Kirk's death isn't
just a headline, it's a turningpoint and the way our country is
reacting it's a giant redflashing warning sign about
where we're headed.
I'm Christy Chanel and this isSassy Politics.

(00:24):
Hi, I'm back.
I've been on a two-week break.
Thank you for hanging aroundand still being a part of this
movement with me.
I moved, I'm in a new houseboxes everywhere, but I'm happy

(00:50):
and building my little bedroomstudio.
It's kind of cute.
I still have to do thebackground and get the walls and
get everything set up, but Imanaged to get my little studio
set up so I could get an episodeout on Mindfuck Monday.
I'll give you a full house touron YouTube later this week, but
today we need to get serious, because I know you're feeling it

(01:12):
.
I'm seeing people say thatthey're taking a break from
social media.
It's just too damn heavy, andthey're right.
It is heavy, but that's why wereset, recharge and then refocus
, because we need you in thismovement Full force, full stop.

(01:33):
I'm back, I'm refocused andwe're going to go through this
together, because we areliterally documenting history
and we are documenting ourrising.
So let's do it.
Charlie Kirk was shot at aTurning Point USA event at Utah

(01:54):
Valley University in Orem, utah, and immediately before there
was even a suspect.
President Trump came out andblamed radicals on the left.
His exact words the radicals onthe left are the problem.
They're vicious and horrible, although they want men and women

(02:16):
sports, they want transgenderfor everyone.
They want open borders.
I'm not sure what that has todo with anything Clearly nothing
.
Then this was jarring Jarring.
Elon Musk followed up with theleft, is the party of murder.

(02:40):
This is not just a hot take.
This is assigning guilt to anentire political group before
facts are even known.
Then a website popped upcharliesmurdererscom.
It's creating a searchabledatabase of over 30,000 people,

(03:04):
they say celebrated Kirk's deathor opposed him.
You can search by job title, state or industry.
I am absolutely not forcelebrating death any death but
this is terrifying.
This is doxing.
People are losing their jobs.

(03:25):
I've seen reports of teachersresigning or being fired,
employees at Delta and AmericanAirlines allegedly being let go.
This is not accountability.
This is harassment.
If you disagree with me, youhave the right to do so, but you

(03:46):
should not lose your job, yoursafety or your ability to feed
your family because of youropinion.
If you think this is okaybecause they're on the other
side, just know, the next timeit could be you.
Now, after all that crazinessand accusations, they have a

(04:07):
suspect, 22-year-old Tyler JamesRobinson.
He was arrested after a 33-hourmanhunt and charged with
aggravated murder and firearmdischarge.
Here's what we know.
He was in an electricalapprenticeship program at Dixie
Technical College.
His family is conservativemembers of the LDS Church.

(04:31):
His grandmother even came outpublicly saying we are MAGA to
push back on rumors that he wasa radical liberal.
Yeah, that would be really abad thing.
Huh, he was living with liberal.
Yeah, that would be really abad thing.
Huh, he was living with atransgender roommate, reportedly
a romantic partner, who iscooperating with investigators

(04:52):
and had no knowledge of any plot.
Bullet casings found at thescene had anti-fascist or meme
engravings.
I've heard conflicting reportsabout that.
I've heard that it was reportedby the Washington Post and then
retracted.
I've heard that the roommatewas not necessarily a romantic
partner and they weretransitioning.

(05:13):
We don't know.
We don't know and honestly Idon't know that I would trust
anything that's out there rightnow.
Truly, because the things wesee with our own eyes.
They tell us we haven't seen.
So I question every singlething that comes out of their
mouth.
This is where it gets messy.
Early on social media tried topaint him as a liberal, a

(05:37):
Democrat, wearing a certainshirt, but those photos turned
out to be of a doppelganger.
It wasn't even him.
There are conspiracy theoriesnow that this was a MAGA eating
MAGA.
That Kirk wasn't far rightenough for some extremist groups
and that's why he was targeted.
Nothing has been confirmed.

(05:57):
We don't have a motive yet, solet's not hunt anyone down today
.
Okay, these are early reports.
This is still speculation.
I will keep covering this as welearn more about why this has
happened, but one thing we canall be sure of is we will
absolutely be blamed, no matterwhat the result.

(06:20):
While we wait for real answers, the response is already being
sculpted.
We have flags at half-staff,the vice president personally
walking with his casket to theplane, nfl games holding a
moment of silence, and now I'mhearing they want to erect a
statue of him.

(06:41):
Who's paying for all of this?
Is this coming out of ourpockets?
Because if this is a privatething, if Trump and his allies
want to fund this through aGoFundMe, fine, but taxpayer
funded political theater for aman who was a podcaster, not an

(07:02):
elected official, not a soldier.
I think we should have a say inthat.
And something else worries methis kind of exaltation doesn't
just honor someone.
It rarely stays neutral.
It draws lines, it signalsalliance, it builds myth, and we

(07:24):
are living in a moment wheremyths can be lethal.
This is where it stops beingpolitics and starts being
personal.
People are scared, I'm scared, and I am a white American woman,
arguably one of the mostprotected demographics in this

(07:44):
country.
Woman, arguably one of the mostprotected demographics in this
country.
I am not the one most likely tobe targeted and yet I am
second-guessing everything I say.
I even privated two of my ownposts about Charlie Kirk, not
because I celebrated his death, not because I said anything
hateful, but because I didn'twant to end up on a list.
Hateful, but because I didn'twant to end up on a list.

(08:09):
If I feel that way, someone whohas built a platform, who has
access to a microphone, who candefend herself publicly imagine
what it feels like to be Black, latino, indigenous, asian,
lgbtq+, an immigrant or anyonewith fewer protections an
immigrant or anyone with fewerprotections.
Imagine the fear of being puton a list when your very
existence is already politicized.

(08:30):
This is why I speak out, because if I am scared and I
have relative privilege and aplatform, then we know there are
people who are terrified intosilence and this is where the
trust starts to break down.
It's like walking into a crowd, looking around wondering would

(08:52):
you hurt me if it came down toit?
Would you put me on a websiteif you knew my real views?
Would you cheer if I lost myjob?
That is not a healthy democracy.
That is a society tearing atthe seams and to everyone saying
you're being dramatic.
Let's look at the rhetoricwe're normalizing On.

(09:13):
Fox Friends host Brian Kilmeadesaid on live television that the
solution for mentally ill, homeless people who refuse to
help is to just kill them.
Let that sink in.
A national morning show hostsuggested killing human beings

(09:38):
and no one on set even flinched.
Even flinched.
I took a moment of silence forthat because I wanted you to
really hang on that lastsentence.
He later apologized, called itextremely callous I don't give a
fuck.

(09:58):
Okay, I don't give a fuck.
You said the quiet part outloud, but the words were already
out there, and words like thatdo not just disappear.
They soften the public to stateviolence.
They make it easier for someonewatching at home to believe

(10:21):
that some lives are disposable.
And they're not.
And this is not just talk, itshows up in real life.
Just last week in Franklin Park, illinois, an ICE officer shot
and killed 39-year-old SeverioDeLegas Gonzalez during an

(10:43):
arrest attempt.
Authorities say he tried toflee and dragged an officer with
his car, but he died on thespot.
People in this community areshaken.
They are asking was deadlyforce the only option?
Was this necessary?
And this is what I mean when Isay the fear isn't just
ideological, it's physical, it'sthe state deciding who lives,

(11:09):
who dies, and the rest of uslearning to look away.
And yes, we've all seen thecoverage of his wife, erica.
She is stunning, the perfectpageant queen, which makes sense
because she literally was one.
During the time that Trumpowned the pageant system.

(11:30):
She gave a statement that wasraw and emotional and, honestly,
kind of militant and again Isay that with compassion she
just lost her husband.
But it was also a reminder thatthis is about more than one
man's death.
This is about where we go fromhere.

(11:51):
We are no longer living in acountry that waits for truth, we
convict based on politics, based on skin tone, based on who
you love, and that should scareevery single one of us love,
and that should scare everysingle one of us.
I'm just an average American, like many of you, who is scared

(12:18):
of what happens next, scared ofneighbors, scared of what
speaking out might cost me,scared of what it might cost you
.
But silence isn't the answereither.
Reset, recharge, refocus.
Reset, recharge, refocus, because this movement needs you
and we will keep documentinghistory together.

(12:41):
And before we wrap up, let metalk about where this movement
is heading, because I ambuilding this with you in real
