far from home is the final movie
of phase three.
The best phase Marvel has everdone.
And let's be honest people it'snot even close.
This has been the golden age ofMarvel.
I have no doubt about that.
Spider-Man may not have been thebest movie in the phase, but

An amazing Spider-Man film.
But I want to take a second totalk about phase three because.
It's over now, we're sayinggoodbye to phase three.
And I just want to give myappreciation to Marvel for this,
this whole time period.
Phase three, kicked off withcaptain America, civil war

that's May 6th, 2016, and itends off with the movie we're
going to talk about today.
Spider-Man far from home on July2nd, 2019.
So that's a three-year spanwhere they put out 1, 2, 3, 4,
5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 movies.
That's 11 movies.
In three years.
If they did, then now we'dcomplain that they're putting

But I don't know how they didit.
These were just absolutebangers.
I would say the weakest one isprobably captain Marvel, but
even captain Marvel wasn't thatbad.
But outside of captain Marvel,every one of those films could
have made a case for the top 10on my list.

in this entire phase.

movies.
But the infinity saga had onetoo.

I can't believe how good thisphase was.
I'm really gonna miss it.

It kind of goes downhill fromhere.
The next phase phase four has 1,2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 movies.

I've been complaining thatMarvel's been putting out too
much stuff.
And that's why it's the productshave suffered, but I just
realize in this moment, How goodthe content was.
And it was more quantity.
In a shorter amount of time.
That's wild.
I think maybe.
I don't know, maybe COVIDderailed a lot of it.

They, they had such, um, Withthe infinity sack, it was such a
big buildup in, in such a.
Big accomplishment.
There was maybe like a toughtime finding a way to move
forward after they should havegive themselves another break.
Cause we only had, we had a twoyear break between far from home

and black widow.
But it probably would have beena one-year break if it wasn't
for COVID.
So, what I would have done is Iwould've had a solid five-year
break, five years, have an exactplan, know all the moves you're
going to do.
You know, far from home.
I always get the mix-up it's farfrom home, not Noel noisy homes.
The last one.
All the homes get me tripped up.

But far from home was a greatway to.
Put a cherry on top of this epicphase a little, I think they
should have just ended with endgame.
I come on wise, far from home,the last movie of the face.
Why not start phase four.
With far from home.
If anything, what they should'vedone is far from home.
Should've kicked off this nextera because it's Spiderman
trying to move on from Tonystark and missing him and

grieving feeling that loss thatwould have been an excellent way
to kick off the next.
Era of Marvel.
They should have just done that.
If I had to say one issue withfar from home and really.
Kind of this whole saga or thiswhole trilogy of Spider-Man
films, it would be, I wish.
Spider-Man had more stories.
Ground level, you know, in NewYork.

You had the first movie then thenext two.
He's not even there.
He's all over the place.
Like, I guess you could arguethat the last movie was.
It took place in New York, butit wasn't really grounded.
Like Spider-Man's a groundedcharacter.
I want to see him.
Street-level and I know that'swhat we're going to get in the
second trilogy, but I think itshould have been the other way
around start him street level.

And then as he grows and hispopularity grows in the
university, accomplishes morethings, then he has these more
grander level threats to dealwith.
Then he gets involved in themulti-verse and space and all
that stuff.
That to me is a more naturalprogression than what we've seen
Spiderman do.
And in saying that I still lovethe film.
I thought the humor was great.

Mysterio, we all knew he wasgoing to be a bad guy going into
the movie, but I still thoughtit was great watching how it
happened.
the trickiness of mysterial wasalways a favorite of mine.
Like when I play the Spidermangame, the second one miles
Morales, and Spider-Man.
And miles.
That one.
I love that game and I love theside missions with Mysterio.
So yeah, naturally I loved themovie, right.

Uh, it was the way theyportrayed.
That was really good with the.
The tr, like I said, thetrickiness and you don't know
what's real.
And the drones.
Making everyone believed thatthese elementals were real.
It's natural default to kind ofa Spider-Man silliness.
And a lot of these Spidermanmovies, because it's kind of a
hallmark.

Trait.
Of the character.
That goofiness.
And I get it, but I found.
In this movie, they kind ofbounce it out really well with
the grief that Spider-Man wasfeeling over Tony stark.
Everywhere.
I look, I see his face.
That's what he says in thetrailer.
They cut it in a way that he sawlike spike, uh, iron man's, a

mural.
It's this constant theme offeeling like he can't do what
he's not good enough.
He, and also trying to balancethe fact that he wants to have a
normal life with MJ and.
You know, hang out with Ned,just your typical kid.
Stop.
But I think.
He realizes in this film that hereally can't.
It's he has a responsibility.

Tony stark gave him thatresponsibility with Edith.
Either Edith or these glassesthat he gets in the movie that
are basically this crazy defensesystem.
And.
Um, the whole point of Mysteriowas he was tricking.
Spider-Man to giving it to him.
So then he can use it to kind ofmake himself look like this big
hero to the world.
It was really well done.
Great story.
I didn't like how.

Nick fury was.
Uh, scrawl, like, did thatreally have to happen in this
movie?
do we need that reveal didn'treally serve any purpose.
And it was an after creditscene.
If it just ended there.
Then no one would have knownwatching back, he didn't really
act like Nick fury, but youcould have made him act like
Nick fare, wrote a differently,you know what I mean?
I really, um, loved happy inthis film, that one scene where

Peter Parker looks to happy.
He's in tears, scared.
He's going to get all hisfriends killed, killed.
And it just says, I really misshim.
The happy to as I miss them too,man.
And then, um, Peter Parker goesand he starts to build a suit
again.
Cause Mysterio destroyed it.
And what he does is he puts hishand through this hologram, any

kind of starts like messing withthe hologram.
And it's it mirrors when Tonystark was doing that with
Ironman happy looks at him like.
Like a tears in his eyes.
He sees Tony stark and PeterParker, then it's just as
beautiful moment.
I thought that was my favoritepart about the film.
Just Peter Parker.
Dealing with that.
Loss and, and mourning his, hishero and his, his really Tony

stark was his only father likefigure he had.
If he's mourning.
Tony stark.
After this movie, I'm mourningthe loss of phase three.
Because now we got to move on tophase four.
Which still has some greatmovies in it.
Maybe in this rewatch, when Ilook at them again, The com.
