Microphone (2- USB Audio CO (00:00):
All
right folks.
(00:01):
We are finally here.
It is the combination of anentire year's worth of watching
movies.
I'm at the end of the MCUrewatch, I am at the end of
season four of my podcast.
Also it's the beginning of 2025.
Spoiler alert.
I am here to talk Deadpool andWolverine.
(00:21):
A movie filled with cameos.
I felt in honor of that movie, Ishould have the best cameo of
all time and bring back a fan.
Favorite gen savvy.
Welcome back, Jen.
Thank you excited.
Uh, yes.
Yes.
I'm just, I was just fixing hermic.
(00:42):
I'm rusty.
This is our season finale.
And then we will be coming backon February 16th to start season
five.
I thought it'd be a cool way toend.
And we take a couple of monthsoff like we did last year, we
usually start on my birthday.
That's why it's February 16th.
And I'll also be when the newcaptain America.
It will be the perfect movie tocover.
Yeah, captain America four isgoing to be a banger.
(01:05):
It will be a great way to kickoff.
Th this a new season of theshow.
We'll see how the whole season'sgoing to go.
I don't know.
Honestly, I'll be real with youall.
I don't know how often I'm goingto be able to, um, upload
episodes this year because Iwill.
I have I'm back in school.
So it's going to be really busy, but I'll try to put as many
episodes as I can.
(01:27):
Just being real with y'all.
cause I love y'all.
I'm saying y'all now, too.
It's.
My new era.
It's my y'all era.
This was my third time seeingDeadpool, Wolverine.
Jen.
It was your first time.
Tell me what you liked about it.
I, well, I think I liked it themost out of the Wolverine or
sorry, the Deadpool movies.
(01:48):
Because I not, I think I've saidthis before, too.
I'm not typically a fan of theDeadpool movies.
I find them too.
Like vulgar in a way.
That's just not like my sense ofhumor.
That's fair.
Um, but I actually did find thisone really, really funny, and I
liked that it still had like anelement of heart to it.
And then action was like reallygood too.
(02:08):
And obviously I love Wolverine.
So that made it better as well.
So definitely my favorite of theWolverine.
Oh my gosh.
The Deadpool movie.
The Deadpool movies.
I liked it better than the solarWolverine movies too.
Yeah.
It's a fun.
It's different.
It's fun.
Blue Ray, this is 4k.
(02:30):
Please still books, sun.
I think.
A lot of people were expectingthe world when this movie came
out, because it is such a bigdeal at Hugh Jackman came back.
Like a massive deal.
They were able to get them.
And I think.
Uh, it exceeded expectations,honestly.
I really liked it.
The cameos made sense.
(02:51):
They weren't just, they were fanservice, but at the same time
they served a purpose.
The narratively made sense.
Like, I didn't think they werejust shoving it in our face.
I will admit I have a biastowards Wolverine.
I've always said that we'regoing to have to name her
firstborn child, Logan.
Logan for listening to us in 20years.
This is where I finally admittedto the world.
(03:13):
I just love Wolverine.
I don't know what it is.
I think everybody has acharacter that they connect with
someone that means a lot tothem.
And that's Wolverine to me,every superhero character, we've
talked about how much we loveSpider-Man Wolverine is tops to
me.
Fun fact, uh, they wrote theentire script with, uh, like a
presentation.
You have a song, right?
(03:33):
Like a prayer.
That Madonna song.
Yeah.
So they wrote the song, like thetheme of the movie, the song,
the theme of the movie, whenthey're writing the script.
They're thinking like a prayer.
So they really.
Uh, when they were done writingthe script, Ryan Reynolds is
like, oh crap.
I hope she lets us use the song.
If you went to her housepersonally to request the song.
(03:54):
Oh my gosh.
And she gave it to them and theyhave an orchestra version.
They have the battle Royaleversion.
They have a dead.
The, um, original all in an EAPon apple music and Spotify.
But it is not on the vinylrecords.
I know you're going to get me avinyl for Christmas, right.
The guardians will make a lot ofsense too.
Because the guardians have like,Actual songs.
(04:15):
It's like, you're listening to,it's not like score.
I though they did have a onewith score on it, but I didn't
feel like getting that one.
Um, but I did look at there'sactually two versions of the
Wolverine Deadpool soundtrack onvinyl record as well.
One.
It has really cool.
Like a yellow and red.
Pieces to it, but, um, and ithas a lot of songs too.
(04:36):
Like a lot of the pop songsthroughout, like it has the
Backstreet boys song and theAvril Levine song, like.
They didn't have Madonna.
Just doesn't have the Madonnasong.
Can't not have a done it's, likeI said, it's a foundational song
for the movie.
Like the movie is.
The choral version of it, likethe actual, just the regular
limit.
Um, Like a prayer song byMadonna.
It's not on there.
(04:57):
So do they have the orchestraversion?
Or the court.
It is choral version of word, choir version, I guess.
Yeah, that's it?
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
Uh, what was your favorite scenein the movie?
Mm.
Um, the end scene.
When there.
Am I, am I putting spoilers?
No, it came out.
Four months ago.
(05:18):
Oh, Okay, so Deadpool,Wolverine.
And we watch July.
Okay.
So yeah.
Um, the final end scene whenthey're connecting, trying to
destroy the machine and it'slike a prayer.
Choir version.
I don't know.
It just.
I honestly.
Every time I watched that.
I don't know why, if it's thewhole thing with Wolverine, how
(05:38):
much I love him as a characteris it's.
I feel connected to the messageof the film, like personally,
And I really liked all the SteveRogers stuff.
Or the Johnny storm.
And storm the cameos.
They were it made sense?
Yeah.
They were great cameos.
I love him.
They're supposed to be, not justsome, they schlop some famous
(05:58):
person in the movie, so peopleare like, whoa.
It served a purpose.
Um, Something about, wait, whatabout you?
Uh, Yeah.
You know what?
I'll tie into what I was goingto say to that too.
Yeah.
My favorite scene was the finalelike you like.
And I also like the final.
Uh, FA big fight with aDeadpool's.
(06:19):
Oh yeah, me too.
That was probably a runner-up.
I just think where I'm at in mylife right now, how I'm feeling.
About things personally.
The message of the film, whichis finding your purpose and.
And realizing that, you know, his family is his whole world,
like stuff like that.
It just really is something I'mconnecting with right now.
Um, speaking of family, if anyof you are listening to this on
(06:40):
the plane, I wish you a safeflight.
They're fine right now.
Most likely.
Yeah, I just, ah, I can't.
It just hits me, man.
Every time I listen to thatscene.
I just tear up.
Everyone's going to rip on me,my friends.
Loser emotions.
Where are you showing emotion,bro?
It's not cool anymore to pick onpeople for that.
(07:02):
Yeah, I identify as a personwith feelings.
Uh, Let's talk about the boxoffice numbers.
Actually, let's get into that.
Cause that's every episode ofthis MCU rewatch, I've talked
about the numbers.
This is wild.
So the budget of this film was$200 million.
That's basically half the budgetof the marvels.
(07:23):
I think the marbles was likethree 70 or something like that.
I don't know, I don't get howthese, how did they get so cheap
with all these cameos?
If anyone's listening that worksin the industry.
Yeah, you're right.
And they had all those cameos.
What the hell, please tell mehow.
Um, The marvels has such a highbudget.
It's an hour and 40 minutes.
This film.
And it's, it's like.
(07:44):
The, um, Losing my words,Deadpool Vareen is like the
blockbuster, these superheroblockbusters.
It's exactly what you expect.
Expect these things to looklike.
And it's almost half the budget.
This big, massive blockbusters.
A lot of it was CGI.
I guess the marvels.
(08:04):
Yeah.
You're not you weren't in theMarvel's up.
So, but we watched it together.
Yeah.
Now let's talk about the.
Box office.
That's the number I said budget.
Oh, If I'd said box house, Imeant it was a bunch of 200.
Imagine this film did 200million.
The boss.
That'd be horrible.
No, the box office of this filmwas$1.3 billion.
(08:26):
Nope.
First.
It made more than a billiondollar profit.
Oh, nice.
Yeah, absolutely.
Massive box office numbers.
Now the we're at the end.
I want to talk about.
The MCU.
We've we've talked aboutDeadpool, Wolverine.
This is probably my third upstime at that point.
I loved it.
The film was hilarious.
(08:46):
It was emotional.
They toned back.
Um, The Ryan Reynolds stick, where he talks too much.
I first, the first film.
The first film.
I actually, I'm going off alittle bit here, but the first
time I watched it.
I actually thought that hetalked too much.
And I miss some stuff, but Ithink I was just so in awe of
seeing my idol, Hugh Jackmanback on the big screen that I
(09:09):
miss some things.
And he offered balance to itbecause it wasn't just like
Deadpool.
The main character.
Yeah.
But the second one, the secondwatch.
I mean, I paid more attention tothe film.
I watched it properly and it gotbetter with each watch.
Each time it got better.
This film is.
Just so well done.
It's everything you could askfor.
(09:31):
Hugh Jackman is the definitiveWolverine.
Ryan Reynolds was the definitivedead pole.
It's something that he wanted todo when he first did Deadpool's
house Hugh Jackman on, and youcan see why, because they just
have such a good like buddy kindof road trip comedy, like
dynamic.
And it, it, it translates sowell to the big screen.
(09:51):
All the cameos were interwovenwith the story.
So well, The dead pool corpses.
Amazing.
All those little.
Uh, Metta jokes were so greatthat proposal.
The proposal.
So you have that on Blu-ray.
Hey, Teo.
I love that movie.
And actually remember when hewas in that first Wolverine
movie.
When like, um, when he wasweighed.
(10:13):
I watched that movie so much.
I think I have, I want toBlu-ray to Deadpool one.
Uh, no, no.
The proposal.
Oh, the Wolverine.
Um, when.
When Ryan Reynolds is playsweighed on there.
Oh, the first time.
Yeah.
Cause like the opening fightscene with the swords, like I
remember just like loving thatscene and that's really the
reason why like bought thatmovie.
(10:35):
Uh, speaking of the openingfight scene with the swords and
Deadpool, Wolverine is.
In my opinion.
My favorite.
Cause they're my favorite.
I was literally like, oh, sorry.
In sync dot.
I was literally doing that.
Yeah.
Oh my God.
Excuse me, go back to 2003.
I don't know what that means.
(10:55):
Deadpool.
Yeah, that was my favoriteopening scene, but, uh, I was
doing the dance and everything.
So good.
I like now that I'm at the endof this.
MCU rewatch.
I find myself looking back MCUroot.
Trademark mark savvy.
I found myself looking back onthe MCU as a whole and.
(11:16):
It's the whole point of this isI wanted to go back and rewatch
these films with a fresh lens.
And see how I ranked them all.
I want to see how I feel aboutall these moves, I think all the
films were just so much fun.
Like, I don't know.
I just liked this stuff.
I'm not saying that they're allOscar worthy.
I think they probably have ofthe 34 movies.
(11:36):
They probably have like, 15legitimately like high quality
films and that's really good.
That's all.
That's a lot for superheromovies.
Starting from the last.
The worst.
MCU film, I'm going to end offand wish you all a happy new
year.
With my MCU power rankings.
The final cuts.
(11:57):

I compiled this list after eachmovie all fresh in my mind.
I will say this.
Deadpool.
(15:11):
Brene being as good as it is.
Has put a lot, has given me.
A lot of hope for the future.
But a lot of that's it's afickle thing.
Hope.
If captain America force sucksass.
Then people are going to losethat very quickly.
I think like, at least this didhave the common thread of the
TVA.
Like from the TV shows.
(15:32):
From, um, some of the other, buthere's actually, that's a good
point.
Here's my one criticism, anchorbeings are stupid.
Who do you think is an anchorbeing in our reality?
It's uh, he said it's Tonystark.
In our reality.
Our reality.
Yeah.
Like Trump.
I'm choking on.
Sorry.
Sorry.
Don't cancel it.
That was a joke.
(15:52):
If you're asking me who I thinkthe anchor being is it's Oprah.
But like I'm the anchor beinghomey.
Everyone's the main character,Does that mean no, one's the
main character of their ownreality.
That's true.
That's a good point.
But, you know what I want youall to know.
You're all the main character ofmy reality.
Thank you so much for listeningto me throughout the year.
(16:14):
It's been a great year for thepodcast.
