What's
up mass savvy geeks.
Welcome back to another episode, round two of Deadpool and
Wolverine.
I'm going to kick this episodeoff with a crazy revelation for
you all.
I think what I'm about to saywill be the biggest twist of
anything that you can possiblyimagine for this film, by the
way, before I go forward, I wantto let you all know, this is a
(00:23):
spoiler Laden episode.
That means if you have not seenthe movie pause.
Subscribe.
Give a comment saying you loveme and then you can come back
and watch it.
I don't want anyone to have thefilm room ruined.
Are you ready?
Ready for this huge revelation.
I'm about to tell you thatdance.
That everybody is doing from theopening scene of Deadpool.
(00:46):
Yeah, he didn't make that dance.
That's actually instinct standsfrom the music video and their
live shows, I guess.
When that, when that song cameout, a lot of us, including me.
We're in our diapers.
In-sync bye-bye.
Bye came out in 2000.
I was eight years old when itcame out.
Yeah, that's crazy.
That I also am guilty ofthinking that Deadpool created
(01:08):
that dance.
Or they choreographed it for thefilm.
I mean, It's everywhere rightnow.
Tick talk.
Tick tock.
No Instagram, YouTube.
It's like all these videos.
There's so many videos of peopledoing that.
Dance is gone completely viral.
I don't even know if all thesepeople saw the film.
When I saw it.
The first time.
It was like a surreal experiencefor me.
(01:30):
To put in perspective.
If I ever have a kid, I want toname that kid, Logan.
Because of how significant thecharacter Wolverine is to me, to
my childhood and to the adult.
I am now I say adults with anasterisk.
Um, we're all a little bit of achild.
So, yeah.
Hugh Jackman came back.
It was a big deal.
I remember seeing Logan intheaters with my friends.
(01:53):
And when that cross fell downand it made an ax at the end of
Logan, I bawled my eyes out.
I ugly cried.
It was just embarrassing, hysterical, crying, snot.
Like I was so heartbroken forWolverine dying.
And then.
All these years later, it wasteased.
That he was coming back.
And then all these years afterthat, he actually came back and
(02:16):
I was sitting there watching it.
I was wearing.
Uh, my Wolverine and Deadpoolshirt, I had a first edition
Wolverine PSA.
Or whatever the.
Uh, grading company, it was aPSA 9.8.
Uh, PSA 9.7.
I think it's CGC.
I forget what the gradingcompany is for comics, but you
know what I mean?
I'd have these graded firstsession comics in slobs with me,
(02:38):
along with all these Funko popsthat I bought in this popcorn
bucket, like I was decked outfully ready for this experience.
I was.
On cloud nine.
I couldn't believe what I wasseeing.
I was just so excited.
And I think in that excitement,I let some things slip past me.
And I miss stuff, you know, Ithink I didn't give the proper
(03:00):
evaluation of the film.
I don't think anyone can give aproper valuation film after one
viewing, but I think.
When I.
Did my previous episode, some ofthe things I said, I don't think
we're a hundred percentaccurate.
cause I'm I just was soenthralled with everything
happening.
I was so excited that I actuallyliterally missed stuff.
(03:20):
Like I would just be like, oh myGod, it's Wolverine.
And then there'd be dialogue andI missed it.
And I own up to that.
That's what happens.
I think even when I recorded theepisode, I wanted to make sure
that I let people know that Ihave to watch it again.
And I still think my rating isaccurate.
I would give it an 80.
I give an 88 on the savvy meter, which is out of a hundred.
(03:40):
And I think that's around whereI thought it was going to be.
Once I saw it again.
This film from the get-go justgrabbed you.
It was hilarious.
Like I said that dancing is goneviral.
It's so awesome.
Everybody's doing it.
Um, and.
From there.
We, we kind of kick off withwhere Deadpool's at emotionally.
(04:00):
And then my previous review, Ididn't.
I feel that.
The emotional side of the filmwas as well presented as the
first two dead pools.
And I want to walk back thatcomment.
I think it is.
And I think it's actuallybetter.
I hit the, the point of thisfilm.
What drives Deadpool this wholetime was.
To feel wanted to feel that hematters.
(04:23):
And I think that's something wecan all relate to.
I know, I find myself justsitting at my desk sometimes and
just thinking to myself, what amI doing?
Like, is this really me?
And my happy is am I on the pathto doing something that I think
matters?
And that's the important thingis like, what do you think.
Matters.
Because it can mean a lot ofdifferent things.
(04:44):
So a lot of different people.
And I think that's somethingDeadpool had trouble reconciling
with throughout the film.
Until the end, when he realizedwhat really mattered.
What makes him matter?
Is his family has found family.
Which is why that one line atthe end just hits you so hard.
It's a really strong.
Aspect of the film.
(05:05):
And I take back what I said,what I don't take back.
What I said is that Ryanrun-ins.
Ryan Reynolds is taught to say,as a plural.
Uh, it's not plural, but.
Pitch deck when it is what I'mtrying to say.
His stick is a little too much.
And this film and it does takeaway from the dialogue of other
characters.
There are so many excellent.
Characters in this film.
(05:25):
Like if I had to.
If I had to rank all the cameostoo, I'll rank the camels later,
but for right now, I want totalk about.
His stack and I think he needsto pull it back a little bit.
I know it's all about Deadpool'shits in the title, but I didn't
feel like.
They had a good balance of ithere.
In the previous two films.
Even the second Deadpool film, there's a scene where he's like
(05:48):
dying at the end and you keepthinking he's dead.
And it's like, ha ha.
That's a little funny.
But then they kept going.
It's like, they don't know whento stop.
That's really the worst thing Ican say about the film, because
I loved it.
Let's talk positive.
It's a long week and let's havesome fun.
Deadpool Wolverine hadeverything you could have hoped
for.
I take back when I.
(06:08):
I don't know if I was feelingdiscipline.
I don't know if I said it, but Idefinitely don't feel
disappointed.
Sing it a second time andproperly paying attention.
If I had to rank.
My favorite cameos.
I apologize if I'm leavinganyone out.
But my favorite.
Let's do my favorite threecameos.
It would be.
Can you count X 20?
Three as a cameo because she hada pretty important role in the
(06:30):
film and she stays at the end.
Uh, I say we can probably leaveher out.
She's not necessarily as much ofa.
But then if you leave her, I'lldo leave the other cameos.
I don't know, I consider her nota cameo because she joins the
universe after.
So I'll leave X 23 out.
My favorite cameo of the filmwould probably be.
(06:50):
Chris Evans as.
Um, human torch.
That's my number one.
Favorite cameo.
My second favorite would be, um,It would be gambit.
So Channing Tatum is gambit.
I actually want to see more ofhim as gamut.
It's funny because that's kindof like, How Deadpool's started.
It was a character Ryan Reynoldsreally pushed to bring to the
(07:12):
screen.
And who knows, maybe chattingteam could do that with gambit.
We're approaching the immune erafolks as possible.
So that's my second favoritecameo.
My third favorite cameo would beblade.
Blade was sec.
I loved blade.
And then a little luck.
The Deadpool does.
And that's another thing.
I think Deadpool broke thefourth wall a little too much.
But.
(07:32):
Uh, it's not like that much of adeterrent.
Our main villain was CassandraNova, who was.
We didn't get as much screentime with her as I would have
hoped.
But the screen time we got withher was very, very compelling.
She was an awesome villain.
I really liked paradox is kindof a secondary villain and the
TV as a whole.
Um, Yeah.
I just think.
(07:53):
Concentra Nova was so Opie theway they finished your office.
Like the only way you could gether.
Like, I dunno.
I dunno why she was contentstaying in the void, but she was
Emma.
Corrine's the actor who playedCassandra Nova.
She did a great job.
The actor who did paradoxesfrom, um, succession who ends up
being the CEO in the end.
I don't watch succession, but Isaw him on the casting thing.
(08:16):
So for those of you who watchsuccession, that's who that guy
is.
I just don't.
I'm all over the place, butwhatever I'm like Deadpool.
Me and dad pull, share ADHD.
I just don't.
Like the idea of a.
Anchor being to me, that's sostupid because eventually
everybody dies.
So you're telling me that I likea universe is going to just die
(08:37):
2000 years after an anchor beingdies.
It doesn't really.
Work for me.
Like I think the concept ofanchor beings really stupid and
I don't agree with it.
I wish they just kept it.
Like.
I don't know, maybe they couldhave just not done the anchoring
as a concept and then have thereason why the TV wants to
destroy his time because deadpulled it, all that messing
(08:58):
around.
And that's why they wanted to.
They wanted to prune it.
That would have made sense.
I mean, you didn't have thisstupid concept.
And obviously this concept isgoing to be.
Tied into secret wars.
It's so obvious that the secretwars is going to be all the
anchor beings.
From all these differentuniverses dropped on this planet
and they're going to fight itout.
The last anchor being standingis the one whose universe gets
(09:22):
refilled.
That's clearly what they'regoing to do.
And it just felt like more of ameans to an end than a.
A plot device that made sense.
You could have studied theconcept of anchor being, but not
at a high to be where itdestroys a universe.
You know what I mean?
I just didn't like that.
That's an a, I forgot to mentionthat as things I don't like.
There's way more things I dolike, though.
That dead pool scene at the endwas whole Arius where they're
(09:45):
like fighting all the deadpools.
And then you have dog pool.
If anyone knows who lady pool isa comment on the YouTube
channel.
And please let me know.
I heard it's T.
Um, not to have, so it's I heardit's Blake lively, but that did
not sound like Blake lively.
There's no way.
That's Blake lively.
Maybe someone else voice it.
And Blake lively was just in thecostume.
But it doesn't make senseeither.
For those of you who watchwelcome to Wrexham.
(10:06):
They noticed a, um, a Wrexham.
Logo or the Wales logo on one ofthe Deadpools that.
Uh, Deadpool was actually playedby Paul Mullins, I think is his
name.
He's the star striker forBrexit.
So it was a cool little cameo.
Rob McEleney actually had acameo too, but I guess it was
cut.
Which is disappointing.
But overall, the three camerasthat I liked the most were blade
(10:29):
three.
Gambit second, and I am alreadydrawing a blank.
Chris Evans is the human torchfirst.
The cameos were great, but theyaren't.
What made this film great.
What made this film?
Great.
I'm being honest was Wolverine.
Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
Crushed it, he was everything Icould possibly hope for.
And more.
(10:50):
My understanding is it.
He's from an alternate timelinewhere Hugh Jackman.
Or he Jackman's Wolverine.
I mean, doesn't join the X-Menin days of future past, and they
all get fuck AFT.
Hoof almost swear there.
I can't swear on this podcastbecause then I can have comments
on YouTube.
That's actually fact, you got toput the, no, I'm not
(11:12):
kid-friendly thing.
If we're going to have comments.
The action was APIC.
The fights between Deadpool andWolverine were so good.
The van scene was awesome.
The scene at the very, verybeginning of their Friday in
front of 25th, 24th.
20th century Fox.
Oh my God.
I can't talk right now.
Those fights in.
The fight scenes betweenDeadpool and Wolverine were all
time for me.
(11:32):
I just loved the one in the van.
That was hilarious.
I love the one in front of 20thcentury, Fox symbol.
And when they first come to thevoid, they just F each other up.
That was great.
The final Deadpool file, like Imentioned was the best one.
I would go.
That's my favorite then thevaccines third and the fight
when they first get to the voidis second.
(11:53):
One thing I notice is.
Okay.
So.
This timeline is the sametimeline as Logan, which means
that.
When Deadpool takes place likethe current time.
Of Deadpool.
There is a Wolverine in thatuniverse, which means there's a
child version of X.
or whatever.
X 23.
I mean, So right now, when wesee the characters at the end,
(12:15):
they're having that final dinnerscene.
You have an adult X 23 and ahuge Jackman's Wolverine, right?
At that same time.
There is.
Uh, child's version of 23 and ayoung version of Logan
happening.
I just think that's a littlestrange.
How a doorbell is dog pool, bythe way.
Adorable meaning ugly, but in aQA.
(12:35):
They should do a plush of docpool.
I would actually buy a plush, adog pool.
Would you let me know in thecomments?
Wolverine and deadbolt to sumup.
Had great action.
Great heart.
Wasn't perfect.
It had its flaws.
But the strengths were so strongthat I still have to give it a
high rating.
That final climax of the film.
(12:56):
Where Deadpool Wolverine.
Are like, they, they.
Both decide to make thesacrifice.
Like, it was almost like a blackwidow Hawkeye thing where
they're fighting over, who madea sacrifice, then Deadpool
decides to do it in the end.
And then he's like trying to.
Complete the circuit of them.
Anti-matter matter thing, butthen he keeps, he can't reach
the other side and that's when.
(13:17):
Wolverine grabs his arm andstabs the thing and they ended
up making the circuit and.
That's when.
Uh, Madonna comes on like aprayer, which has been the
whole, like kind of theme, premise of the F uh, not premise
the heart, the spine of thefilm.
Like there's.
Throughout the whole film, youhave like hints of the song and
it's in the, it's a big part ofthe trailer and all that.
(13:39):
So that plays.
Wolverines shirt rips off andhe's just so sure.
It's.
That's so funny.
There's so many funny points inthe movie, too.
Uh, I think Deadpool.
And then after that Deadpoolsays.
Hold hands while listening to.
I'm paraphrasing, but he saidsomething like.
We were holding hands whilelistening to Madonna.
(14:01):
We're F in indestructable.
They come out and it just themusic and the slow motion walk
with Wolverine shirt off.
The girl that was there was justlike, oh my God.
The chubby guy that was there.
I was like, oh, They all justlike are an awe of Wolverines.
Jackness.
Hugh Jackman.
Paul Wolverine, you hold aspecial place in my heart.
(14:21):
I'm not even done seeing you intheaters yet.
What a great way.
To kick off.
The Mutan era of the MCU.
And you can't kick off themutiny or the MCU without paying
home much and saying a thank youto the X men and the mutants of
the past, which is what they didand a beautiful montage.
(14:42):
To green days, Tom of your life.
None of the immune air actuallyis here, though.
I gotta warn you.
Marvel.
You got some big shoes to fill.
So as mark savvy of savvy geeks.
Signing off to my new remix thatjust came out today.
CN next week, folks.
