"Au revoir, Shoshanna!": Hans Landa (Inglourious Basterds)

Talk about a smooth operator with the brutality to match it! Hans Landa, portrayed by Christoph Waltz, was a masterclass in how to nail being a villain... To me, Inglourious Basterds isn't the same movie without his inclusion, and the irony of his character's arc is one of the best in recent memory. Quentin Tarantino's masterpiece of a movie happens to be my favorite movie of his, and by Tarantino's own admission, Hans Landa, may be the best character he's ever written. Landa uses his hubris and intellect to steal almost every scene he is in, and that's saying a lot when he's sharing screen space with Brad Pitt! "I love rumors!
