Speaker 1 (00:07):
Thanks for watching
what's going on.
(00:31):
This is Scalarius, I am JohnOlsen and with me, as always, is
DW, the Dueling Witch, tittySerene.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Sorry, the bottles
aren't as loud.
No're not.
That was my, not your father'srepair.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
Yeah, yeah, so that
was my yeah, I don't have that
right today.
Thank you for not um again.
Thanks for not selling the thename.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
Appreciate that well,
here here's the deal.
If anyone wants to uh uh, giveme, uh, endorse, endorsements or
suggestions.
I'm actually running out of myhard cider and hard root beer,
so I'm going to have to go tothe store, and so here's an
opportunity for someone to givea recommendation, if they have
(01:19):
it.
I have a recommendation for you.
Does it have THC in it?
Speaker 1 (01:25):
It does.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Okay, then I'm out.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
Okay, fine.
Whatever, you don't want totake the recommendation.
That's cool, dw, from you.
I don't, yeah, thank you.
So I know that you have beendying to hear this story, so I
have to tell you.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Yes, If you didn't
bring it up, I was definitely.
I was not going to let you passthis by.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Okay so go ahead.
So the saga of John and DrVisits has been going on for the
past what?
Several months now, right, yeah, so first of all, I want to say
this since I first startedtalking about eliminating the
thc drinks, drinking mostlywater and changing my diet up a
(02:14):
little bit, I've lost like 27pounds.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
So which, by the way,
way to go.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
That's, thank you,
that's uh, um, that.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
That's a considerable
amount.
That's something to be proud of.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
It is for a short
period of time, right, because
March 4th is when I got theblood test done, and it's April
something.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Yeah, yeah, did it
quick, but anyway.
So I kept talking about.
Dw is always like you never goto the doctor, you don't do this
, and I'm like, yeah, you'reright, because doctors are a
waste of time and you know, yada, yada, yada, blah, blah, blah,
blah, blah.
Obviously we are not going toget into the like, we're not
going to get endorsements fromhealth care facilities on this
(02:57):
show whatsoever, right?
Anyway, the other day I was atwork and I was doing my work
thing, which is I'm a manager ofa meat department in a grocery
store, okay, and I was cuttingchuck to grind into ground chuck
(03:24):
, and it just so happened I hadBack up hang on.
You were cutting it how I wasslicing it because you're
supposed to cut it in a strip,so it goes through the grinder.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
All right, you know,
it's just a chuck roll and you
just cut it up and take itthrough, so anyway.
So I was cutting it and theknife slipped, and when it
slipped it turned and went intomy right index finger.
(03:55):
Okay, Mind you, I'm left-handed, so therefore you know I didn't
.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
So you were cutting
your.
The knife was in your left handand it's okay, gotcha, were
cutting your.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
The knife was in your
left hand and it's okay, gotcha
.
So it went into my right indexfinger and it went it.
It went good.
Um, just to describe the injury, it uh sliced all the way the
nail.
Oh, geez and well me.
(04:25):
I was like, oh, oh damn, oh no.
All of a sudden I turned intochristopher walken.
Oh no, I cut myself, oh damn, anyway.
Um, yeah, I cut it pretty badand I was trying to get the
bleeding to stop.
The meat department looked likea murder scene, which was kind
(04:48):
of hilarious.
There was like blood spatterall the way across the door into
whatever, but anyway.
So I one of the guys that worksthere was like, hey, look at
this.
And he's like, ah damn, youneed stitches.
And I was like, oh, okay.
So I wrapped it up.
I wrapped it up and I was likelike, if I can just get the
(05:09):
bleeding stop, I'll be fine.
That's what I was saying.
If I just get the bleeding stop, I'll be fine.
So I wrapped it up and I had tokeep changing the bandage
because it just kept bleeding.
It was a gusher, um, but I hadother things I needed to do
before I was able to leave.
I had responsibilities, wait, wrapped, what Really really
(05:29):
tight, one more time and thenwhen I did that, just kind of
left, it Got all my stuff done.
Then I was like, hey, if I'mleaving, I'm leaving for the day
.
I'm not coming back, becauseyou know I live an hour away
from work.
Well, I left.
It was back because you know Ilive an hour away from work.
Well, I left.
It was like three hours afterthe cut and I drive to the
(05:51):
clinic to get it checked out.
I get in there and they startmessing with it and they told me
they were going to, you know, pull me apart and everything,
just to make sure, whatever.
And uh, the doctor said wow, and.
And I said, yeah, she was likestarting to heal.
So whatever you've done, you'vedone well, because it started
(06:13):
to whatever.
I was like wait, hold on.
So you're telling me I don'tneed to be here.
And she's like well, I mean,we'll put some glue on it.
But if you were here earlier, right after it, it would have
been a lot different.
And I said, what do you mean?
And she's like well, weprobably would have like, took
off her nail, stitched it, putthe nail back on whatever would
(06:36):
have been horrible.
And I was like, so hold on, Ijust need you to tell me in
front of my queen consort thatme doing this coming here was a
complete waste of my time.
And she goes well, I mean youmight need a tetanus shot.
And then she looked and shegoes nope, you're up to date on
(06:57):
that.
Yeah, pretty, no, we're justgonna glue it.
Then I was like, hold on.
So what you're telling me is Icould have just glued it, like I
thought I was going to glue it,and this up here was a complete
waste of time.
And she's like I'm not going tosay waste of time because it
wasn't.
You know, you need to get itcleaned out, yeah, so they put
(07:18):
glue on it, which I would havedone anyway, and I have done
since, because I busted it openlike three times would have done
anyway, and I have done since, because I busted it open like
three times, um, and I wouldhave been absolutely fine
without seeing the doctor.
So, um, although she would notsay that it was a complete waste
of time I am so yeah, okay Idid a medical procedure to
(07:46):
myself and I was fine, sotherefore, there it is.
No need to go to any doctorwhatsoever for anything.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
Well, all right, so
there's a few issues I have with
this.
Okay, First off, what happenedto the meat that you were
slicing when this happened?
Like did you just put it onspecial because it had you know?
Blood on it or no, that I mean, that was gone, if there was
anything, and it went bye-bye,so okay see, and here's the
(08:15):
thing, you claim that this is atestament to your the uh uh uh
uselessness of doctors and howgood you are at medical uh
procedures or the machinists ofjohn.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
Either way, right
well.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
But the, the smarter
thing to do would have been not
to cut yourself in the firstplace yeah, it was, you know
okay, help that, it was now okaybut here's, here's the bigger
question and here's what I I'vebeen thinking ever since.
A couple of days ago I had thisquestion which finger do you
use to stop the podcast, and isthat going to be a problem for
(08:56):
when we need to end this, because I know you have problems
ending early?
Is that going to be an issuewhen you click end?
Speaker 1 (09:02):
I don't have problems
ending early.
We've discussed this many, manytimes over many things.
There was a couple times whereI ended the podcast as
mid-sentence, as I was liketrying to say but not ending
which some might call early.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
You know, if the lady
is not satisfied, that's early.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
So okay, um, no,
don't just so it's not going to
be a problem.
No, putting this out there foreveryone to hear I am not,
there's.
No, no, ending early for me,what's that?
That's not an issue.
Now, the podcast sometimes youknow I'll be like and then it
(09:38):
just cuts off and whatever.
But, as you heard, last week'sepisode it did not happen.
So therefore, in last week'sepisode went a long time and it,
so this didn't happen.
So it's not going to happenanyway.
Yes, and it is that finger.
Anybody want to see it rightthere, I mean nobody's going to
see it, but you know whatever.
(09:58):
It's right there, all right.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
Don't don't see that.
There we go, Okay.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
All right, but yeah,
that't see that.
There we go.
Okay, all right, but yeah, that.
So that was.
That was the tale of the finger, of the podcast finger, or I
called it my comedy finger afterwhen I when I injured it.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
So I was like is that
finger funnier than your others
?
How was that your comedy figure?
Speaker 1 (10:19):
mr phalange.
Um no, so I no, it's not anyfunnier really, but like I said,
you know, if it you know, Iperformed later on that day and
if it would have been a badperformance I would have blamed
it on my my cut comedy finger.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
So did you really
during that performance?
Speaker 1 (10:40):
yeah, just that one.
But yeah, so that was thatwhole thing.
Hope everybody was quiteentertained by that.
I still have nine and threequarters of my finger, so wait,
nine and three quarters fingers, one, just yeah, it's still
there, just kind of hanging on.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
So now that we've
covered that, we need to figure
out or explain to people wherethey can find us.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
Where they can find
us.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
Oh yeah, Just in case
they wanted to ask questions
about my finger.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
You know, this might
be the day.
This is your heroic tale, ormaybe people want to know how
they can avoid going to thedoctor too or maybe they want to
know what you were doing, sothey can stop slicing their
fingers okay, I don't know ormaybe they want to know what
(11:35):
store you work at so they canavoid that store if they have.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
We're not going to go
to that so anyway, yeah, but
you know you might want to findus like, say, you want to start
with DW.
You can find DW, dw SereneComedian on Facebook.
You can find me, john Olsen, comedian 2.0, on Facebook.
You can find us both togetheron Facebook.
Not a couple, we're not acouple, but you can find us at
(11:59):
the Scalarius page.
Also, if you want to email us,you can email us, like, chat it
up with us.
You know you can do that atscalariuspod, at gmailcom or I
don't know.
You can find us on TikTok, youknow you can do that, or on
Instagram, also as Scalarius.
And then you know, if you wantto only if you want to you can
(12:20):
go back and listen to everysingle episode that we have at
scolariaspodbuzzsproutcom.
You can do that too.
And while you're doing that, you know you're hanging out
trying to find us and everything.
You know.
All these Scolarius guys arepretty cool.
I like them and you're like.
(12:41):
You know what I'm going torepresent, scolarius.
If you wanted to do that, youcould go to crowdmadecom forward
slash collections, forwardslash scolarius pod and you can
get a whole crap ton of merch.
Yeah, you get hats.
Yeah, right now it's summertime, so you can get the regular hat
.
You don't need the beanie, that's not until winter, but you
(13:03):
need to get just like abaseball hat with the sclarus
logo on it.
Or you know we have t-shirtslike dw has a here's the thing
t-shirt because you know he saysit quite a bit.
You'll you'll hear it throughthroughout the episode.
Sometimes I make a tally.
You know I'll be like one, two, three, four.
I don't go much more than thatbecause I just can't, because I
don don't say it a lot, thankyou.
(13:24):
So you get the here's the thingT-shirt.
Also, you can get my favoriteT-shirt because I have no idea
who John Olsen is.
You can get that T-shirt.
Or you can get in a hoodie aswell.
There's dog bowls, dog leashes, dog collars.
Also can be used for cats orferrets.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
I was going to say we
call them pet bowls because we
don't want to discriminate.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
Maybe a pet, I don't
know.
You can use the leash on agoldfish, I don't know.
Maybe.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
I did see someone
walking their cat the other day.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
Fair enough, you can
do that.
It's all there, all of it.
Just go to crowdmadecom, forward slash collection,
forward slash ScalariousPod, andyou can find any and all that
stuff.
Or you can just go tocrowdmadecom and type in and
look for Scalarious.
You can do all that, alright.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
Now we've covered all
that.
I think it's time we getrocking.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
Are we rocking or are
we rolling?
Speaker 2 (14:33):
We'll do whichever
all right.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
Okay, google it which
one we're doing Rocking or
rolling, all right?
Well, you know, dw, the firstthing you need to do is pack
your bags, buddy, because we aregoing on another trip, but this
trip, I mean, it's in the US,okay, but it's on the East Coast
.
So I hope you like steel.
(15:00):
I don't know, just maybe steel.
Oh, the office is from there,it kind of yeah.
So I mean we could hang out inScranton.
Maybe you know, take anotherlittle tiny trip, go to Scranton
, check out all the cool, likethe steam town mall.
You know there's a Chili'sthere.
Now that actually is office.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
Go there.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
That's actually is
off the scenes.
We can go there.
Yeah, we can do all that, butfirst I think we should go and
hang out at a very cool hauntedlocation.
What do you think?
Yeah, alright, we'll do that.
You know, I think we need to goto a very cool haunted
attraction.
That happened to be a poor farmat one point and it was also a
nursing home.
Yeah, it's got a lot of hauntedhistory, so to speak, and we
(15:51):
have the owner and team of thisplace right here on our show
tonight.
So Carrie Dale Sandy fromHaunted Hillview Manor how you
doing.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
Great, glad you're
here Awesome.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
I am happy to talk to
you, so I guess I don't know
how do you want to start?
Do you want to tell a littlebit of history about the place
and then we can go into whathappens there or what Sure.
Speaker 5 (16:30):
Why not?
Speaker 1 (16:30):
Yeah, let's do it All
right, carrie.
So tell me about HauntedHillview, manor.
Speaker 5 (16:40):
Well Haunted Hillview
Manor is going to be 100 years
old next year.
It opened its doors in 1926.
Well Haunted Hilby Manor isgoing to be 100 years old next
year.
It opened its doors in 1926.
And prior to that there werethree poor farms in the
Newcastle area.
To give you an idea whereNewcastle is, it's on a river,
(17:05):
steel town, a lot of old moneyup there.
It's about an hour fromPittsburgh, so we're on the west
side of Pennsylvania, not theeast side of Pennsylvania, and
it's an old town.
Hillview was a product of threepoor farms.
A lot of people don't know whata poor farm is.
I tell people it's a homelessshelter that's 24-7, 365 days a
(17:30):
year.
Except to live there.
You have to work there orcontribute.
That said, three farms cametogether and Hillview opened,
but it it was called.
What was it called prior tothat?
Speaker 4 (17:45):
you guys um lawrence,
county lawrence county home for
the poor and aged right so howdo it?
Speaker 5 (17:53):
yeah, it didn't get
its name until the hill view,
until there was a contest, Ibelieve somewhere around the 30s
or 40s, and hill view cameabout.
Did I get that right?
You guys, I get that.
Nope, 50, 1950s, 1920s, 70s.
Okay, I'm totally off, um, buthillview.
(18:14):
Hillview changed its name a fewtimes, so but what's really odd
and unusual about hillview tome is that many of the people
that were in the poor farm livedthere their whole lives until
they were elderly.
And it's so unusual to havethat kind of a story that people
(18:37):
lived there a long time, and Ifind that really quite quite
interesting.
And I find that really quitequite interesting.
It has a rich history.
It's creepy up on a hill.
It's on 13, 14 acres.
It had an orchard.
It has a bunker in the back ofit.
There was a burial ground.
Now that's not on our property,it's called the Lawrence County
(18:59):
Cemetery.
It's still a cemetery.
I don't know that they'reburying anybody there, but they
got in a little bit of trouble.
Let me make sure I get thisright.
You guys got a little bit oftrouble and mass burials,
shallow graves, probably notreally create.
You know doing the right thingwith how to process, um, our
(19:21):
dearly departed, so to speak.
So, um, it's, it's kind ofinteresting there.
Uh, there's a morgue on the.
There was a morgue on the umproperty, um surgical units, um,
and we had children.
When I first came about theproperty after my mother um
(19:41):
bought it at auction, I had noclue there were children there.
I knew of a nursing home calledHillview Manor and that was it.
We've got a whole bag ofeverything at Hillview.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
Wow, that's really
cool.
We have a poor farm.
That's literally what.
Are you going to say it'sprobably about three miles from
me, dw, maybe on White BearAvenue?
Are you gonna say it's probablyabout three miles from me, dw,
maybe on white bear avenue areyou familiar with?
Speaker 2 (20:08):
it yeah, you don't
know the farm I, if it's the
place I'm thinking of.
I've been there a couple oftimes.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
I just yeah, they
used to have a farm.
Um, they used to have it belike the haunted farm or
something like that, like aroundhalloween.
It's over by I mean it.
It's, uh, it's past 36, so isum, it has the.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
The one I'm, the
place I'm thinking of, has had
like art shows and stuff there.
Yeah, yeah, okay, yeah, I havebeen there.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
So and that place has
, uh, the burial ground right
there, but nothing is, there'snobody, that's uh marked or
anything like several thousand,I guess, people just buried in a
little.
I mean that place is not verybig.
I mean the cemetery is I don'teven know if it's 3,000 square
(21:02):
feet, it's not very big at all.
So there was a lot of peoplethere, yeah.
So poor farm.
I know about them Well for themost part, and I know that
there's a possibility of someparanormal activity happening.
So what led you so?
(21:23):
Did you know the place washaunted when you purchased it,
or no, was it not at all okay no, no, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 5 (21:32):
Um, my mother had an
interest in old buildings like
this.
Our family had done some oldschools and converted them to
apartments and and they were.
The buildings were in the 1930s, mostly early mid 30s, and so
my mother saw this buildinggoing up for auction.
(21:52):
Little old lady goes toNewcastle and I are away from
Pittsburgh and buys a buildingone Saturday morning my brother
Buck Hilder, and with the intentof turning them into condos or
apartments, like we had done.
It was going to be a ratherlarge project.
The building had been shut downa year prior to it going up for
(22:16):
auction and unfortunately shepassed away shortly after
purchasing the building.
She passed away shortly afterpurchasing the building and
while we were dealing with theestate, figuring out what to do,
(22:36):
my brother vowing that he wasnot going to do apartments in
Newcastle and have to take careof all kinds of other stuff too
we were relieved of some of thecopper in our building, so to
speak, by some pirates of sorts, and it rendered the building
pretty much useless.
And God bless them.
I hope they got something outof the deal.
(22:57):
And it really was a headache.
And we were approached, myfamily was approached my brother
and I about by somebody localwho had done research on the
building.
There's a lot of like newspaperarticles and you know um
different people that hadexperiences, that had worked
there and police officers andall this and and this gal came
(23:20):
and wrote my brother a letter orgot him on the phone and said
do you know?
Your building is haunted.
We said like Ghostbusters.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
That's all we knew.
Speaker 5 (23:32):
We're just business
people and we're like what is
going on here.
So she ended up doing someearly investigative work, later
on rented the building for us tostart ghost hunting and later
on my brother and I kind of tookthings over um, and it's grown
(23:52):
to what it is today, which is avery odd place to come and visit
, and Sandy and Dale are one ofquite a few um staff members
that we have that do tours andinvestigations and special
events and, um, it's quite a mixof stuff at our.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
So we're gonna go
kind of all over the place here,
but that's okay, I like.
I like going all over the place.
It makes it a little bit morefun.
But I want to ask about thetours first.
Um, are the tours strictlyhaunted tours or is it like if
you don't want to deal with theparanormal, can you go in there
and have a tour of the building, about its historical factor and
(24:35):
everything?
Speaker 5 (24:36):
yeah, sandy, why
don't you tell them about the
day tours and stuff that you do?
Speaker 4 (24:40):
mostly okay.
Um, during the day you can dothat you can book a one and a
half hour tour, which is justthe history of the building and
we take you around and show youthe building.
And then if you wannainvestigate paranormally, then
you can book a three hour daytour and then you get an hour
and a half tour and then an hourand a half on your own to
(25:02):
investigate.
Speaker 5 (25:04):
And like that first
hour and a half we're giving you
the history of where we have alot of paranormal activity and
(25:26):
known individuals that lived athillview documented um, pictures
of many of them, um, andartifacts and and stuff.
So it I like the history of thebuilding and the and in general
, newcastle's of an old town, um, and we're south of of the
(25:47):
central part of newcastle, we'rein shenango township.
It still has the same zip code,so to speak, but um, it's a
very palatial and it, it itlooks ominous at times up on the
hill, but the best way to getthat just the tour is, like
sandy said, a day tour.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
Oh, okay, so this is.
You said paranormal hotspots inthe building.
So I'm just going to let.
Nobody can see this.
Obviously, everybody can hearit, but nobody can see it.
Carrie, you're at home, butSandy and Dale I'm glad too,
Sandy.
I'm going to come back to thatin just a second.
(26:26):
Sandy and Dale are sitting in ahallway.
I can see the hallway.
Dw can see the hallway.
So I have to ask that hallwaythat you're sitting in is that a
hotspot?
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (26:40):
Absolutely.
This is the most haunted areaof the building, even though
it's the newest.
It's a new addition.
It's actually the most hauntedarea.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
Really.
So what kind of stuff happensthere?
Speaker 3 (26:56):
No, you muted me I
unmuted.
A lot of things that happen herein One North.
We get shadow figures thatcross the hall.
We get shadow figures that willcome out of the room and come
up the hall a little bit andthen go into another room.
You hear a lot of metalequipment like heart monitors
(27:18):
and stuff like that and just alot of moaning like people were
in pain because the very end ofthe hall was like the most
critical when it was a nursinghome, like that was pretty much
hospice at the end of the halland then the nurse's station
(27:40):
behind me.
You can kind of see it, I'mtrying to figure out how it is.
It's back here.
It's a little white thing.
That's the nurse's stationthere, the most critical of the
patients who weren't ready tomove on.
I guess, for lack of a betterterm, they were directly across
(28:01):
from that nurse's station.
So, um, yeah, this is, uh, myfavorite hallway, the the entire
building.
Speaker 1 (28:09):
So is there a day
that you are there, specifically
in in the hallway area, thatthings don't happen?
Speaker 3 (28:19):
Um, I mean, I, I
can't say for sure, but um, I
mean, I guess we, we kind ofjust do this on on their time,
and you know their terms.
Um, you know, like, uh, likewhen I I actually correct tour
guys when they say, oh yeah, youknow, if you do this, you will,
(28:40):
and I say, don't ever say youwill Cause, cause then they
expect it.
Um, you know, you have a better, you have a good shot, is what
I'd say.
Something like, something likethat you got a good shot of
seeing this shadow figure, butum, yeah, it just depends on
what you're into so my stafflaughs at me because I don't
ghost hunt but I definitely getcreeped out in this building and
(29:06):
stuff's weird.
Speaker 5 (29:08):
And two years ago,
down at the very end of that
hallway which is a long, longhospital hallway you know, these
are rooms with patient theywould have two or three beds in
them, a bathroom and all thatand this, this came on in the
seventies, but we was.
I think it was Halloween nightor somewhere right near
Halloween.
We had a lot of people in thebuilding and we were just
(29:32):
cleaning up.
I was cleaning up to go home.
It was about 11 o'clock, 1130.
And some gal runs in and said Igot something on my video feed
and it was a full apparitionfigure at the very end of the
hallway.
I mean there's 30 rooms downhere down the hallway and at the
(29:56):
end of the hallway they had adark, full humanoid looking
figure that moved across andthen moved back and we we have a
we do an actual scare house outback in our field in some
outbuildings near the cemeteryand the bunker and I'm I'm
always the skeptic and she showsus this video and I said, well,
(30:20):
hold on, I'm not the person tojudge here and I gathered
several of our staff and I saidyou know what, Go shoot the
video again exactly where youwere, just so we can see what it
looked like and what you caughtagain.
And we put them side by sideand I was like, oh gosh, there's
something there.
It was terrible, In my opinion.
(30:41):
It was terrible and everybody'slike, wow, this is so cool and
I'm like, get me out of here.
Um, so we we started questioningwhether it was somebody outside
.
Maybe somebody came in from adifferent door, which the doors
are closed, and we knew it.
And I'm radioing people likewere you down there?
Were you down one north?
(31:01):
Where's the?
You wasn't no carrie, nobody'sthere.
I was like, oh my gosh, so weget some really crazy stuff and
sometimes it's really a big deal.
And I said, well, I think youshould send us that footage
because I think you're gonna winour best, best evidence award
this year because it was good.
Speaker 1 (31:21):
So that's the kind of
stuff we get down one north and
it's freaky so I was sittinghere thinking I'm like, well,
you know, these guys are sittingthere, the cameras behind them,
you know, like the cameraspointing down the hallway and
everything.
I'm like what are the chancesthat you know we're sitting here
chatting throughout this orwhatever?
And I see movement or whatever.
(31:42):
Um, I I've had a couple ofepisodes where people were in a
haunted location and I'd seesomething and I'd be like, oh,
that's weird.
They were able to debunk it, soit was, you know whatever.
Like I'm just kind of hopingthat you know peek over dale's
(32:02):
shoulder there and I, I seesomebody you know coming at me
or whatever.
I think it would be kind of fun,um, and then dw would be able
to say that he witnessedparanormal activity and no I, I
would completely dismiss it.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
You know you would
say see something?
And I'd be like no, that, thatnothing.
Speaker 5 (32:23):
And see now, dale
does.
He's part of one of our um,well, two, two of our, our
employees do the lives every oneWednesday night and Dale's one
of them and they're one of thebest ones to debunk because
they'll have their foot.
Now.
Usually the lights are out andthey'll have some lighting here
and there, but I can't tell youhow many times.
(32:44):
I'll watch them on the live andI'm like is something there and
everybody's texting the sametime and then they're trying to
debunk and we get a lot of stuffthat they'll say no, that's a
spider on the camera or whatother things do you guys debunk?
You've got dale sandy.
Speaker 4 (33:02):
Um, I mean, they'll
work sometimes orbs, but it's a
link or dust.
Speaker 5 (33:08):
People think it's
orbs yeah, and but I can tell
you there there's.
There are enough days thatthey're.
You know, dale's got every kindof equipment known to man, I
swear, and it's going down thehallway blinking and people are
handheld things and spirit boxesand whatever all these things
do.
I kind of know how they work.
(33:30):
They definitely know how theywork and I have to say that
we're a little amazed.
I mean, we did have somebody on, we had a celebrity of sorts on
Saturday and he's looking forfootage because something was a
coin, was was thrown at him.
Is that what happened saturdaynight?
And yeah, dave schrader likeI'm not 100.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
Sure, I think dave
listens to the program, probably
to make fun of me and dw, butthat's cool.
But I think, um, he could makefun of me all he wants, that's's
fine, he's a cool guy though.
Speaker 5 (34:04):
He's a good ghost
hunter.
I don't know what was happeningSaturday night, but they got a
lot of stuff and he's likeCarrie, can you send us footage?
The room we didn't he was in,we did not have footage, but
whatever he got, what's hisrecorder, dave?
What kind of Dale, what kind ofrecorder does he have?
Some funky recorder?
Speaker 3 (34:26):
Yeah, the DR-60.
Sorry, I set my camera up sothat you can see that one north.
Yeah, I see that.
Speaker 1 (34:34):
Yeah, it looks cool.
I'm enjoying the view.
Speaker 5 (34:38):
I'm sitting here, my
eyes are peeled on it because I
want to see if something happensand I want to be able to say
hey, dw watching it yeah it'sstill nothing yeah, you know, my
thing is, when people ask me,is it going to happen, I'm like
don't expect anything and be inmore than likely something's
(35:01):
going to happen.
I people get all kinds ofsounds they're talking to
there's, uh, there's spirit boxand I mean, sandy, what do you
guys get down at one North?
I know there's some roomeverybody's been talking about
with some mirror or something.
Speaker 4 (35:15):
Yeah, there's a room
144 with something.
Something happened in that roomand if you go take a picture in
that mirror with a flash, yourface comes totally.
It looks really weird.
I had like a long tongue comingout of my mouth, like a red
tongue, like long, like a lizard.
Somebody had no face, somebodyelse had, like their eye was
(35:39):
drooping.
It's really weird and in theserooms.
Speaker 5 (35:42):
They're full length
mirrors on the wall, like
between stations where theirbeds would be, so they're kind
of standard rooms on.
You know where, you know howyou go in a hospital room and
there's a light above the headof somebody's bed.
There's they're still therewith pool stations and stuff
like that.
Now, other parts of thebuilding don't quite have all
(36:02):
that because it's much olderpart of the building, but one
North is still somewhat intactwith certain things and it's
just kind of freaky with some ofthe stuff that happens in
different rooms.
And then, of course, on our liveor people write us or email us
and say my family member spenttime here when they were an
(36:27):
elderly patient and they were inthis room.
So staff will go out and try tocontact and see if they get
stuff.
And you'd be surprised whatformer nurses and employees have
told us about the building andthe creepy things that happened
to them while they worked there.
And it's kind of neat when youstill have people that are
living while they worked there.
Um, and it's kind of neat whenyou you still have people that
are living that either workthere or had loved ones there.
(36:49):
So that's kind of rich for us,and, and and.
Getting the story straight.
You know, or right, not justlike you know, we have this
empathy, you know, make it, uh,beefing it up to make it better
or whatever.
Speaker 1 (37:05):
You don't have to do
that, just get it straight and
yeah, give it straight is right.
Speaker 4 (37:10):
I'm hearing noises
right now and there's nobody in
here but me and dale, and I hearnoises coming from behind me
better you than me keep that micon.
Speaker 1 (37:21):
I want to hear them.
Um, so, all right, okay, I Iwant to take this and step back,
I guess a little bit behind thecurtain of obscalarius,
whatever.
So I reached out to you, carrie, and I was like, hey, I want to
do an episode on this, reallycool.
I was like, I believe, uh, howI and I was like what a haunted
(37:43):
nursing home need to talk to you, or something like that.
It probably wasn't exactly likethat, because that is more
excited than I ever get, butanyway.
So I did reach out and I'm like, hey, haunted nursing home, we
should chat.
Speaker 3 (38:02):
And you were very
cool.
I was skeptical, chat and umyou were very cool.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
I'm skeptical.
You were very cool and youcalled me and you're like this
is where I.
I love this because I want, Iwant to talk about this
specifically.
You called me and you were likea paranormal and comedy podcast
.
What do you do?
Make fun of the paranormal?
And I was like wow, no, no, wedon't do that yeah, but that was
(38:29):
a great question because I wasworried.
Speaker 5 (38:32):
I was like what do
you?
What are you gonna do?
Speaker 1 (38:34):
right?
No, it's, it's more.
I'm quite interested in it.
I I've lived in it.
I've had a a ha.
I've lived in it.
I've lived in haunted homes.
I've had experiences my wholeentire life.
I was a ghost hunter, all thatstuff.
Dw does not believe in any ofthis shit and I'd rather the
(38:57):
same way, totally I understand.
Yes so it works right.
That's why the dynamic of meand him I understand.
Yes, yeah, so it makes it.
It works right.
That's why the dynamic of meand him and the show and
everything it works out.
But I just wanted to say, likeyou asked a question that I'd
never had to answer before butat the same time made me think
(39:19):
about reaching out to people andhow I do reach out to them and
say, say, hey, this isParanormal Comedy podcast, blah,
blah, blah.
I'm wondering if they think I'mgoing to, or me and DW are
going to, roast them the wholeentire time.
Oh yeah, so when?
Speaker 5 (39:39):
I was coming from Was
we have a lot of people that
want to film at Hillview RightPodcasts mostly film, and and
everybody wants to ghost huntand put it all out there on
YouTube and all that.
And we've had some interestingYouTube channels saying all
(40:01):
kinds of stuff.
Like this was an insane asylumand there was all this terrible
stuff happening and if you go onour tour, there were some very
unfortunate things that didhappen from time to time, but
for the most part, this was anice place to be, to be Okay, um
(40:29):
, it's had a rich history and,um, you know, I I I'm a former
school teacher and usually whena high school or college student
says I want to do a project ora documentary and blah, blah,
blah, I was approached bysomeone to do something on
mental illness and the treatmentof patients and all of this
stuff and I'm like hold on.
Um, first of all, this isn't amental institution.
(40:49):
Um, do I think there were peoplethat were down on their luck
and sometimes people that don'thave a home, have some some
issues to work through in theirlives, and do I think there were
very ill people here physically, maybe mentally too, and I said
, you know, I really want thisto be respectful and that's
(41:10):
where I I get really protectiveof this place.
And so when I heard that and Iwas like, okay, tell me your
story, tell me who you are andlet me decide from there, and it
I I think you know, once yousaid I've lived in a home that's
haunted.
I've done this, this is whatI'm about.
I was like, okay, it just sohappens.
Speaker 1 (41:33):
I'm a comedian as
well, so that's where the bread
and butter comes from.
Right there Is that we had thatcomedic.
I guess overtone Angle orundertone Angle.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
Undertone yeah,
that's a good way to put it.
Speaker 1 (41:52):
It's our gimmick.
Baby, it's our gimmick.
Speaker 2 (41:55):
Definitely not
impressions, but you know.
Speaker 1 (42:00):
So yeah, so, anyway,
I wanted to share that a little
bit with carrie.
Um, that our conversation thatwe had, because I thought it was
really cool and just you knowif anybody's listening to this,
no, we're not going to make funof you, but we might have some
fun, you know, just sayingthrowing it out there.
(42:20):
Um, oh, there's a lot of stuffI have to ask about this place.
Okay, so, carrie, have you everbeen in the building by
yourself?
Speaker 5 (42:32):
Unfortunately, many
times.
Speaker 1 (42:34):
Okay, and what's the
percentage of times that you've
been by yourself, thatsomething's happened to you been
by yourself?
Speaker 5 (42:51):
that something's
happened to you.
Um, I'm not collecting evidence.
Okay, not looking to collectevidence.
I think things follow mesometimes.
Okay, I think I catch somethingout of the corner of my eye and
it totally unglues me okay I dohear a lot of noises when I come
in at times, um, and I justkind of say, could y'all just
(43:16):
stop, because it just is not mything.
Now said, I'm running a hauntedproperty, go figure.
So there is a couple places inthe building I'd rather not have
to walk through andunfortunately one of them is
(43:37):
main corridor to where theseguys are standing right now and
it goes to the back of ourbuilding and I have to go
through there and it justdoesn't work for me and it
didn't work from.
I put down a dog two years ago, sadly, and he didn't like this
part of the building and theyknow, they know they definitely
(43:59):
know, and we've had other petscome through the building that
don't like these areas.
But one of the places I don'tlike is called the Time Clock
Hall.
It's a real short littlehallway that leads right to this
hallway that Sandy and Dale areon, and I keep thinking I see
something out of the corner ofmy eye and I don't want to see
(44:19):
it.
Now, everybody that comes in mybuilding wants to see that.
Am I looking to take a pictureof it?
No, do I want to talk to it?
No, so, that said, I don't haveevidence other than how creepy
I feel and how I want to get outof there.
And no, I don't want to be inthe building by myself, and
(44:41):
Sandy knows I will call her andsay want to go, he'll be with me
today.
Speaker 1 (44:45):
That's code for
carrie's yes all right, so I I
have to ask you this then sohave you ever been through a
haunted attraction like uh,universal studios, has the
universal haunted or whatever,or like the um, the haunted
houses and things like that?
Have you ever been throughthose, carrie?
Speaker 5 (45:08):
In my life.
Speaker 1 (45:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (45:10):
Two.
Speaker 1 (45:11):
Okay, All right.
So this is where I'm getting atwith this.
I think I'm a wimp.
Speaker 5 (45:18):
That's what I am.
Speaker 1 (45:20):
So what I'm asking
basically with that is you know,
when you go through there, youknow you're there, you're
excited, you want to be scared, but you're also kind of unnerved
at the same time.
Is that the kind of the feelingthat you get when you're in the
Hillview Manor?
It's kind of like the unnervingit's totally different.
Speaker 5 (45:41):
I've been to two
haunted houses in my life early
20s I, when I was in my twentieswell, I won't tell you how old,
I am now a little older andwithin the last maybe four or
five years, okay, very goodhaunt.
I had met the owners at onepoint, I think they put out a
(46:04):
really good product and scares, and I knew I was going to go and
get scared and jump and screamand do all that stuff.
And I did all of it, okay, andI said, gosh, I'm glad that's
over with, because I don't liketo be scared.
And Dale was with me, remember, you were there and they all
laugh at me because I'm a wimp.
(46:26):
But this is different.
You know a haunted house, youknow you're going to get scared,
right?
This is a place that's justempty and serene and stuff was
going bump in the night andstuff was moving around and
stuff is.
It just is totally different.
I don't know why.
That scares me more, okay, orit just unnerves me beyond
belief and everybody's like butthat's why we're here and I'm
(46:48):
like good, you stay, I'm goinghome.
So they will tell you this isthe truth.
Speaker 1 (46:56):
All right, I'm going
to get.
I'm going to get back to you, terry because I want to ask you
like business things about it,not like you know what's your
profit is and everything that'skind of my business.
I'm gonna get back to youbecause I want to ask you like
business things about it, notlike you know what your profit
is and everything that's kind ofmy business, but you know
business things about it.
So, sandy and dale, I need toknow since you're there all the
time and obviously you'reliterally in the heart of the
(47:19):
paranormal activity right nowwhat, what is the scariest thing
that's happened to you?
One at a time, obviously, butwhat's the scariest thing that's
ever happened to you in thatbuilding?
Speaker 4 (47:31):
okay, one north where
we are.
I was very new here, a new tourguide, and it was around three
o'clock in the morning.
I was locking up and I went allthe way down this hallway to
the right and there's a room, the last room.
When I looked in there I saw aman sitting on the bed, all
dressed in black, and I got sofrightened that I ran to get my
(47:54):
co-worker and I said you have tocome with me.
I saw him twice.
Then we find out from ghosthunters that there was a priest
in that room that was dying ofbrain cancer.
Every time I go in that room myhead hurts me so bad I can't
explain it.
So that's, that's the scariestthing that happened to me here
wow, okay.
So before I get to dale, I haveto ask you this when you say you
(48:17):
heard from ghost hunters, areyou talking about like a group
of ghost hunters, or are youtalking about like taps, like
jason hawes was there and talkedto you, or no, um, I'm talking
about, like, a lot of people whocome here, and then we did have
a youtuber here and I, when Igave him the tour, I didn't tell
him about that room, becausethat room is not on the tour and
it just happened to me and Isaid nothing to him.
(48:39):
And when he came andinvestigated, he saw the same
thing I did.
Speaker 1 (48:43):
Wow, okay, and that's
right down the hallway that I'm
looking at right now.
Speaker 4 (48:47):
Yep, On there.
It'll be on your right righthand side.
The last room on the right, andthat's was critical care.
Basically, down that hall waspeople who really weren't going
to make it.
Right, I'll be damned so thatwas that scared me, like I was
really scared.
So that scared me, I was reallyscared.
I was wondering if I was goingto continue the work here after
(49:08):
that.
Speaker 1 (49:09):
That's how scared I
got.
Well, that's a full-bodyapparition, you saw.
I mean, they say Holy Grail, that's the Holy Grail.
Speaker 4 (49:17):
Yeah, and I saw it
twice, two different occasions,
and now I won't go in there.
Speaker 1 (49:22):
Do you go buy it?
Speaker 4 (49:25):
I go buy it because I
have to.
But I won't go in there.
Do you go by it?
I go by it because I have to,but I want to go in it.
Speaker 1 (49:27):
We have the door shut
now.
If you go by it, do you seeanything in there?
Speaker 4 (49:33):
The door is shut now,
so I don't see anything.
Speaker 1 (49:35):
That's crazy.
Speaker 2 (49:36):
Alright.
Speaker 4 (49:39):
I could just walk to
the front of the door and I
immediately get a headache.
Speaker 1 (49:44):
Wow.
Yeah, that's probably notsomething you want to do.
All right, dale.
How about you Go ahead, dale, you're on.
Speaker 3 (49:55):
Nothing really scares
me, but the most recent thing
that had happened to me was inthis hallway.
I went down to lock the doorsat the end of the night and I
got.
I got to about the nurse'sstation there where, where my
phone's sitting, where, from theview you're seeing, I was
coming back from that end of thehall up towards like where my
phone is, and I could hearrunning behind me and it sounded
(50:18):
like a human being runningafter me.
So I turned around to make surethere was nothing human or
living coming at me and it kindof stopped right before I turned
around.
So I walked about 10 more feet, got to about where we're set up
right now and I can hear itagain and as I'm hearing it.
I turned real fast and it'sstill running but there was no
(50:39):
one there and I was like, well,at least I know it was a spirit,
not a human or somebody living.
So it didn't scare me.
I just I was glad it was aspirit.
Speaker 1 (50:50):
So did you?
Did you feel anything like?
Like?
Did it go by you, you know?
Or was it just?
I don't know, I mean it was.
Speaker 3 (51:04):
I mean it was like
running towards me and when I
turned around I could still hearit, but it like died away, so I
didn't.
I don't know if it like raninto a room, I don't know, but
that was the latest thing that'shappened.
Speaker 5 (51:22):
I mean, a lot of
people get their hair played
with and people every once.
A lot of people get their hairplayed with and and people.
Every once in a while peopleget scratched, don't they?
That kind of unnerves me alittle bit every every once in a
while.
Yeah, and people get touched onthe shoulders, back of their
head, guys get locked in thebathroom somebody pushed me on
(51:44):
the second floor, but when Itell people it wasn't a
malicious push?
Speaker 4 (51:48):
it was like somebody
was playing a game with me, like
tag, you're it, and they pushedme.
I thought it was Dale playingjokes on me, but he wasn't there
.
Speaker 3 (51:57):
I can't blame him for
everything.
I'm sorry, tag out of nowhereis not fun Just saying
Especially if there's nobodyaround you, no what the hell was
that?
Speaker 1 (52:09):
that's mv.
Yeah, dw you.
What would you do?
You'd pee yourself, say cripersor something.
Speaker 2 (52:17):
I don't know I don't
say that in normal life.
Why am I gonna start saying itat that moment?
Speaker 1 (52:25):
that's good shit, all
right, so wow, I mean it sounds
like you just have.
I'm assuming where they'resitting is, like I said, a hot
spot, but is there activitythroughout the whole building
and all the grounds?
Speaker 4 (52:44):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (52:45):
Or okay, Even outside
Wow.
Speaker 5 (52:51):
In the back, how many
entities are really on the tour
?
I mean, last time I counted itwas like maybe 13 to 15 or more.
What do you?
I think it's close to like 16now.
Yeah, I mean some people go toplaces with like one ghost, but
that might be a house orsomething.
(53:12):
I mean this is a massiveproperty of close to 80 000
square feet, I think, orwhatever it is.
I mean it's a big building and,um, you know, we just had
somebody say, oh my, my, my auntor somebody worked here.
Can, and you know we just hadsomebody say, oh my, my, my aunt
or somebody worked here.
Can you see if you knowwhatever, and my, you know, my
grandfather worked here, or they, they, they lived here, and can
(53:34):
you try to connect?
And those are kind of cool tous because then we try to get as
much information to just seemaybe what part of the building
they, they were, they had a roomin, and then try to connect.
And it's kind of cool, you know, and you'd be surprised what we
get.
Speaker 2 (53:52):
That is cool.
Speaker 1 (53:55):
I need to know about,
like, the business side of this
, and what I mean by that islike okay, so it's a haunted
attraction for those who want tocome in and investigate after
tours, or are you allowing teamsto come in and spend the night
for a rate, and things like thatso um, we go to about 3 am on a
(54:17):
public investigation as well asa private okay um, we start
anywhere from six or seveno'clock and go till three, but
we have, we have the ability todo a three-hour tour, six-hour
tour, and explore sorry tour andexplore some, sometimes frames,
just let you explore, becausesome people have been there so
(54:37):
many times they don't want tokeep taking the tour.
Speaker 5 (54:40):
Um, but there's a lot
of options for people.
Um, you can't sleep hereovernight.
Typically we're going to gotill midnight or three o'clock,
depends on what tour option youpicked.
Um, teenagers, uh, cannot comein by themselves.
Um, until you're 18.
(55:01):
You have to have a parent orguardian, you know, and you need
to be with them at all times, because we're in the dark, you
don't know who you'reinvestigating with.
We don't know these peopleeither, you know.
So teenagers need to beaccompanied by an adult, which
(55:22):
is fine, you know, and we evendo a teen hunt, but it's during
the day and around Halloween andstuff, and it's a lot of fun,
and parents are on the tour withthem and it's a fun day, but
for the most part, adults only.
Speaker 1 (55:39):
That's what I like.
Adults only Keep the kids outthere's a time and a place yeah
yeah, we we really have on apublic investigation.
Speaker 5 (55:50):
We've had a couple
young ones where they have to
talk to me personally and youknow, the school teacher that I
used to be comes out and I starttalking about the rules and
what we got to do to protectchildren and all this stuff and,
and you know, mama bear comesout, you know, kind of thing.
Speaker 1 (56:09):
So okay, you have the
ghost hunts that you can do
until 3 am.
Or you know, whatever, what doyou?
How many people are usuallythere during a public ghost hunt
, like, how do how many?
Speaker 5 (56:28):
It varies it varies,
public ghost hunt, like, how do
how many?
It varies, it varies, um.
We've had some quiet littlenights where we might have five
to ten people in here, and boyare they happy because they're
like woohoo, we just got a gooddeal, because a private
investigation will allow you tohave 10 to 15 people in here of
(56:48):
your own choice for a price, buta public investigation you're
with.
Whoever signs up for that night, I will tell you we're very
busy around Halloween, just likehaunted locations.
Everybody thinks it's morehaunted in October, and that is
not the case.
It is, yes, haunted, veryhaunted, but it's very haunted
(57:09):
at October, and that is not thecase.
It is, yes, haunted, veryhaunted, but it's very haunted
all the time, um, even duringthe day.
Yeah, one of our tour guidesstarted coming when I think he
was 17 ish and he came everySunday paid like 2525 back then
and he came every Sunday and ifhe was lucky, there might only
(57:33):
be three people in the building,a couple and himself and it was
like, woohoo, I got thecheapest seat I could get, right
, and I got everything.
And we tell people, day toursdon't have as many people on as
a night tour, right?
So it's a great way toexperience the building very
inexpensively and, yes, it'shaunted during the day.
(57:55):
That said, the most we've everhad in the building for an event
and it's usually when a tourgroup comes in and they do all
kinds of stuff or a bigheadliner I think the most we
ever had in the building was 90,but I would say on a on a good
night, the average is between 25and 30 on a really good night,
(58:17):
okay.
Speaker 1 (58:19):
Hey, dale, did you
hear something behind you?
Yes, okay, so one, two, three, four something behind you?
Uh, yes, okay, so one, two, three, four.
Um fourth door on the right, Isaw movement down below the
brown um, you know the, therailing or whatever it was about
(58:41):
coinciding with you turningaround that just, I don't know.
I was listening to carrie and Ijust happened to see, um, the
movement there.
Uh, because your, uh, yournameplate says mr hillview, but
okay so, but there was movementabove the w of the hillview.
(59:02):
That's what I was seeing and Iwas like, oh shit, there it is.
And yeah, so there was.
Uh, it's probably I can see awheelchair there, and then all
the way down and right aboutthere, is that 144 okay, that's
(59:27):
room 145 uh to you.
Are you to your left right now?
Speaker 3 (59:35):
yep, yep, right
around there okay, yeah, um, I I
always see something not thisway, like right in here say I'm
glad, I'm glad you're able tosee it yeah, so, um, like I said
, uh just to um, you can see.
Speaker 1 (59:58):
I mean, obviously I'm
going to see movement.
That's not supposed to happen.
And you have one person.
You have two people in onecamera, one person in the have
one person.
You have two people in onecamera, one person in the other,
one person in the other and onethat's empty.
And there's movement on theempty camera, obviously that I
know that there's, you knowwhatever.
And then so um, dale's uhinquisitive turning around at
(01:00:21):
that very moment kind of made mego okay, yep, there's something
, something up.
Speaker 5 (01:00:26):
So well, you know the
last couple of years, the last
couple years, I don't know whatcolor Was it dark?
Wasn't there something kind offloating around one north that
was kind of like a white mistything towards the ground, or
what was going on, the last thateverybody seemed to be
capturing on video and stuff.
Speaker 4 (01:00:45):
Some people were
seeing a nurse dressed like in
like from the 50s, like an oldnurse's uniform.
A lot of people see her downhere okay, it wasn't a naughty
nurse?
Speaker 5 (01:00:58):
no, I would have
known yeah, but wasn't there
something that that people weregetting that was more towards
the ground?
Was this towards the ground?
It was this towards the groundthat you were seeing, john, or
what, what was it?
Speaker 1 (01:01:11):
uh, halfway, about
halfway up the wall, yep roughly
.
Speaker 5 (01:01:14):
You know wherever the
, you know how they have the,
the railings along the sideright for people to walk it was
right about the railing sidethere yeah yeah, dale's walking
down there right now.
Um, I don't know.
I mean I it's weird, becauseI'll watch them on the live
every once in a while and, likeI said, I'll, I'll be texting
(01:01:34):
the same thing and people, otherpeople are seeing.
It's like, almost immediately, everybody's saying did you see
that here, did you see?
And and it's all coming in.
That's kind of weird to me.
Um, I guess that's what it'ssupposed to be, but it's just
like because I would say I'm notseeing it.
I'm not seeing it, or you know,am I making this up or what's
(01:01:56):
going on?
You know?
Speaker 1 (01:01:57):
I'm digging this
because the dale, like it was
valid, that was a valid thing.
He was reacting to what I wasseeing and I was like boom and
DW's still over there, goinglike I didn't see nothing well,
I should warn you the last timewe did a podcast where he
thought he saw something, itturned out to be keys yep, but
(01:02:19):
there was no keys down there.
He went down there and lookedthere's nothing there.
Speaker 4 (01:02:23):
I was just saying,
that was pretty cool, there was
some validity here.
Speaker 1 (01:02:28):
So that was pretty
cool.
There was some validity there, because he reacted as about I
was going to say, hey, likethere's whatever.
So pretty awesome.
Wow, I'm impressed.
Dw, do you want to pack up andreally go to Pennsylvania?
Speaker 4 (01:02:51):
I guess well.
Speaker 5 (01:02:53):
You and I will go get
ice cream.
They can stay in the buildingthere we go.
Speaker 2 (01:02:57):
I was going to say
Carrie is a huge advocate for
not even setting foot in thebuilding.
So I think she's going to be onthe other side, okay.
Speaker 1 (01:03:07):
So, first of all, dw
is very food motivated.
Okay, like you offered icecream, it's happening.
Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
There was like we're
still looking for a haunted
bakery.
Speaker 1 (01:03:17):
There we go in this
show is to do the podcast live
from a haunted bakery, just sohe can have a donut and then the
.
Speaker 2 (01:03:26):
the whole episode is
going to be John, did you see
that?
Did you see that?
And me going?
No, but this donut is deliciousWell there is.
Speaker 5 (01:03:36):
What is it?
May's Donuts?
That local place that makestheir homemade donuts will find
you amazing.
Speaker 3 (01:03:43):
There you go, all
right.
Speaker 5 (01:03:45):
That might work.
Speaker 3 (01:03:45):
I'd have to bring.
I'd have to bring Orums.
Speaker 5 (01:03:48):
Oh, yes, absolutely
Another another well-known
bakery down not far fromHillview, oh wow.
Speaker 2 (01:03:56):
See.
So I would.
I would see nothing andconsider it a success because I
had you know two and a halfdonuts Exactly.
There we go.
Speaker 5 (01:04:06):
Okay, I will tell you
a story.
Do we have time, or was it?
Speaker 1 (01:04:11):
we're fine.
Speaker 5 (01:04:12):
So, um, I can totally
relate to you, um, because dw,
um, my brother was a totalnon-believer and and I say was
so, um, I lost my brother a fewyears back, bit tragically, and
(01:04:32):
won't get into that, but I hadto give a tour about six months
after he had passed and I washere again, right at that nurses
station that you're looking at,with about 15 people and a
little school teacher psychic,go believe, go figure and she
(01:04:53):
was the sweetest, sunniest, mostwonderful gal.
And we're talking about thenurse who kind of ruffles papers
and has a patient across thehallway, build boots and all the
activity that happens right atthat nurse's station that you're
looking at.
And this little girl says tosomebody is somebody not taking
their medication?
(01:05:14):
Somebody needs to take theirmedication?
And she's pointing to this guyand he's like she goes, are you
taking medication?
And he goes nope, she goes, areyou supposed to be taking
medication?
And she, he goes, oh yeah, andshe goes, the nurse is telling
me to tell you take yourmedication.
And then the next thing shesaid is somebody having trouble
with their feet?
(01:05:34):
And nobody's saying anything,is somebody having problems with
something near their feet?
And I was like, oh my gosh, Ihad just coming out of boot from
Achilles tendon surgery and Isaid, okay, that's me.
And she leaned in and said thisis for you.
You're working too hard, you'reall stressed out, you're really
(01:05:55):
nervous, you're this, you'rethis.
And I said, yeah, I know.
And then she looked at me kindof she knew my brother but
didn't only met him a few times.
And she looked at me and shesaid this is for you.
And she leaned in and said hewants me to tell you he believes
(01:06:16):
.
Now, we never had that codebetween my brother and I.
I never told people that.
Well, I would tell people as Istarted a tour, see that guy
outside having a cigarette.
He didn't believe in any ofthis stuff.
And people would laugh.
And he gets so mad at me andsay why do you tell people that
(01:06:37):
I go?
Because it's the truth, saysthat to me and it freaked me out
.
So for the non-believer, youjust never know.
Just saying I'm hoping.
Speaker 1 (01:06:54):
I'm hoping one day
we're gonna go into a place and
he and he's gonna have thatexperience that he can't, that
he can't explain.
That's's the thing, becausehe's going to try to pull up
everything.
Well, it was a breeze.
It was a breeze that camethrough the doorway on the left,
(01:07:15):
or something like that, andhe's going to try to explain it.
I want him to have thatexperience where something
happens and he can't explain it.
Speaker 5 (01:07:32):
And I'm going to say,
DW, better you than me.
Speaker 4 (01:07:38):
Well, this is the
place to come, because I was on
the fence before I startedworking here and I'm not on the
fence anymore.
I'm 130%.
Speaker 1 (01:07:46):
believe now the fence
anymore.
I'm 130, believe now, and thefrequency of the hauntings is is
it?
I'm just going to ask this.
I'm going to see how many ofyou, or what the numbers are
between all of you.
So what, in your opinion, isthe frequency of the haunting
(01:08:07):
meaning?
Like your opinion, is thefrequency of the haunting
meaning, like the percentage oftimes that you walk in the door,
that you're, that you are goingto have an experience?
Speaker 3 (01:08:17):
uh, me personally I
would say it's somewhere roughly
around 70 75 okay about thesame all.
Speaker 1 (01:08:26):
So three times out of
four Yep, right, yep, roughly
Okay.
How about you, carrie?
Speaker 5 (01:08:37):
I'm just creeped out
all the time, so I'm just I
don't think I'm a good source.
Okay, so just the building.
It's just creepy, and when Istart thinking something's
following me, then I think itreally is following me and I
don't want to think about it.
There you go.
If they know this, they laughat me.
They still, even though I saythis a million times, they laugh
(01:08:58):
at me and it's, it's what it is.
So you know, I started my ownparanormal group with my, my web
developer and it's calledscaredy cat paranormal dw.
You can be a part of it if youwant, as the chief skeptic.
Speaker 2 (01:09:13):
But, seriously.
Speaker 5 (01:09:14):
We made t-shirts and
everything.
Scaredy Cat, Paranormal.
That's what we are.
There you go.
Speaker 1 (01:09:20):
That's funny because
you would have to not really be
that scared to do this.
Speaker 5 (01:09:26):
We went on TikTok and
said we don't even want to
ghost hunt.
That's exactly what we said.
And the weird thing is stuffdoes every once in a while right
.
Maybe three times I'veseriously gone ghost hunting
with a few people.
Speaker 4 (01:09:42):
Things happen we try
to get her to come more often,
but she won't no see, is thisgood, Is this good?
Speaker 5 (01:09:51):
And they're like yeah
, carrie, it's good, are we
getting some?
Yeah, we're getting some.
Speaker 1 (01:09:57):
That's funny.
Speaker 5 (01:09:58):
It's just I'm not a
good source, folks.
I'm just I'm not it, I'm not it.
Speaker 1 (01:10:04):
You just write the
checks.
I do tell people that, yes, there you go that's, that's how
it goes, that's awesome, okay.
So, yeah, I don't know man it,I could talk about this all
night.
We probably shouldn't, because,um, yeah, we just shouldn't, we
shouldn't talk about it allnight.
(01:10:25):
So I'm going to go with this.
I guess, if people want to gothere and they want to hang out
and they want to do all the funstuff oh, wait, hold on.
There's one more thing I wantto talk about before I go into
this, and here it is, because Iwas this.
What happened?
I was going to say, if theywant to do this, this, this, I
(01:10:46):
was like, oh, question that Ithought of earlier.
And here it is.
Do you guys do a haunted housething there around Halloween?
You do, we sure do.
Okay, this is fun, little, interesting, little side mission
here.
So if you guys are doinghaunted house things, what does
(01:11:10):
the activity do during that?
Speaker 4 (01:11:15):
it's off the chain.
Speaker 5 (01:11:17):
Go, go ahead, sandy
dale go ahead.
Speaker 4 (01:11:20):
Well, I'll say
something.
I'll have dale some.
We do a haunted like a jumpscare in the back of the
building and we said that in theback it's haunted also.
Well, we have actors that youknow haunt back there and they
see things, shadows andeverything going through the
woods out there too.
So it's haunted, yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:11:42):
So we have a field
scare and we have another
building that we use.
It's like a big, huge garagethat we have a haunt maze in
there and then a field scare.
And we have another buildingthat we use.
It's like a big, huge garagethat we have a haunt maze in
there and then a field scare.
It's not in Hillview Manor,it's out behind, near.
There is a bunker that goesunderground and there is a
cemetery, not on the property, like I said before, but, like
(01:12:04):
Sandy said, it was creeping ouractors out because stuff was
running around and it wasn'tcritters.
It wasn't critters, wow.
Then we had some employees catchum by taking some pictures that
they had put up some balloonsum, at the end of a haunt and
they were taking pictures and,lo and behold, there was a
(01:12:26):
disembodied face that showed upin the middle of these balloons
and we tried to recreate it,recreate it.
We did a YouTube video on itand we can't explain it at all.
So it's weird, because we'reworking back there putting the
haunt together and there's allthis racket on the other side of
(01:12:48):
the building.
I'm like do we have critters inhere?
What's wrong?
And they're like no carry, nocarry.
I'm like could we just stop.
So I throw the radio on as loudas I can because I don't want
to hear all this area.
Not, it's terrible, it'sterrible.
And're like let's get all ourequipment out here so it ramps
(01:13:10):
up, just like it's like well, onthe tour, they.
They tell you that there were alot of parties at Hillview for
the nursing home people.
They'd celebrate Halloween andEaster and all this stuff, and
they put up decorations, like alot of places do.
So they like a party right.
(01:13:30):
So when we have our scare house, it's like having a party.
Speaker 1 (01:13:37):
So they're coming out
to support the cause.
Speaker 3 (01:13:43):
That's pretty awesome
Some people think it Go ahead
Dale, go ahead Dale, and we'dstill decorate, decorate, we'd
like to decorate that's yeah, that's good yeah that is good.
Speaker 1 (01:13:58):
I I like the idea
that you do a haunted house
basically in a haunted location.
That's just it.
It screams hell house.
Speaker 5 (01:14:09):
To me it's a movie
and it's pretty badass people
get excited because they comeand they think they're going to
be in the building, even thoughwe advertise that this is
outside the building, this isbehind the building, and then
we'll also sell you a tour ofthe building right after you go
through.
And they're like sell you atour of the building right after
(01:14:30):
you go through.
And they're like, oh my gosh, you know like how cool is this?
That the place is reallyhaunted and there's a haunted
house behind it.
And then when you start talkingto us and we're like, yeah,
we're getting creeped out backthere too, as we're haunting you
, stuff's haunting us, that'sjust.
You know, that's a little toomuch for me, but you know, here
again, it's pretty awesome.
Speaker 1 (01:14:50):
I dig every single
bit of hillview.
I'm telling you that right nowI want to go.
So do you guys go hunting?
Speaker 5 (01:14:59):
with dale and sandy.
Speaker 1 (01:15:01):
All right, tell me
how y'all did me and dw can go
ghost hunting with dale andsandy we can do, do it.
Speaker 3 (01:15:07):
We're waiting for you
.
Speaker 1 (01:15:09):
You might be waiting.
It's going to be hard to gethim back.
Speaker 2 (01:15:14):
Ice cream.
Traveling with John is Acolossal pain in the butt and
the thing is On the podcast.
We've done imaginary trips andeven those suck Because we're in
paris for five minutes and he'slike all right, ready to go.
It's like I haven't eaten yetand we're leaving what the frick
(01:15:35):
?
So I don't travel with john ifI can avoid it.
So well, you know it'd be funto offer ice cream and donuts, I
mean really, maybe I'll go bymyself and then that way, john,
okay yeah, thanks man, Iappreciate that.
Speaker 1 (01:15:52):
So do you guys do
conventions there like
paranormal conventions?
Speaker 5 (01:15:59):
we do.
Speaker 1 (01:16:00):
I was going to say
it's a big place.
I bet it'd be pretty awesome.
Do you have one coming up?
Speaker 5 (01:16:06):
yes, hillcon.
Hillcon is in July 19th atHillview.
Prior to that we have a littledifferent one, but it's we call
it psychic fair and it has big, really interesting ghost hunt at
night because four psychics golive at different parts and
they're reading our customersand pulling everything in from
(01:16:31):
the building.
It's pretty much all hands ondeck.
Sandy and Dale have been kindof leaders of this stuff before.
Along with others, they'releading investigations, taking
people around.
We get obviously a lot ofpersonalities that come out, but
Hillcon's a big night.
We have a bunch of speakers anda couple of nice headliners.
(01:16:51):
This year it's Heather Taddyand Lauren Hellickson.
Speaker 1 (01:16:55):
Oh nice.
Speaker 5 (01:16:56):
They're a great team.
They're going to be a greatteam and Heather is near and
dear to us.
She's a Pittsburgher, soHilvie's like her little niche,
little area.
That, heather, what do you wantto do?
Okay, I'm coming and can wedress up?
You know she's a lot of fun andLauren is just as high energy
(01:17:17):
and she's the tech girl, soit'll be a powerhouse on Hillcon
night.
So come on out and we just keepadding all kinds of events.
We have a mystery dinnertheater, whodunit, which is kind
of creepy because you got tokill somebody in hilvy and
honestly they're not gettingkilled.
But we're play acting and thewhodunit arguments in our chapel
(01:17:40):
over whodunit is a lot of fun.
So that's coming up in may.
It's a lot of different things.
Check our website out.
Everybody's got some kind ofthing going at these haunted
places and we're no different.
But we're pretty proud of a lotof them, that's for sure.
Speaker 3 (01:17:54):
Well, that's a good
segue.
Why don't you?
Speaker 2 (01:17:57):
tell us about your
website where people can find
you, all the social medias thatyou guys do and stuff like that
well, we're on most socialsocial media.
Speaker 5 (01:18:08):
Sandy's our local
marketing girl.
She's boots on the ground.
But you can go to hauntedhillview manorcom and you can
look up all our public andprivate investigations and
special events and especiallyhill con and psychic fair.
And you know you missed DaveSchrader.
(01:18:30):
He was there Saturday night.
He's he's always.
Um got a good show and umactually was pretty excited.
He had something actuallythrown at him and some what is
it?
Evps guys, Is that the soundstuff?
Evp?
Okay, Got it.
I can tell how much I know um.
But yeah, there's a lot.
There's a lot going on um righton our website.
(01:18:53):
We're on um tiktok.
We have some fun walk with meseries, kind of creepy through
the building um that um one ofour gals is doing.
And we're on instagram andobviously heavily on facebook.
And dale is one of our mainguys who runs our lives on
Wednesday night.
So Wednesday night he'll viewseven to 9 PM and we call it the
(01:19:17):
double D's.
Dale and Donnie run that showand they have a lot of guests on
it and we you know you can signup on our website, send us an
email and say hey, I want tocome to your live, can I be your
guest?
Kind of like you asked us to beyour guest.
Same idea and um, it's fun,it's a lot of fun, and dale sets
(01:19:37):
up the camera, kind of likethis.
But usually they turn out thelights and all kinds of creepy
stuff is happening and equipment.
And what did I say?
I wanted the kids in thebuilding to jump rope.
The other night.
Speaker 3 (01:19:50):
Oh, yeah, my trip
wire.
Speaker 5 (01:19:55):
What I didn't know is
these things are expensive, and
they said if we get somethingto jump rope with, that carry,
we're buying four of them.
Okay, so I don't know what I'mtalking about, I just entertain
myself.
Speaker 1 (01:20:10):
I mean, you do a good
job, you're entertaining me.
I appreciate the stories, especially the fact that you're
scared to go in your ownbuilding.
That's badass to me.
Yup, I mean, it's just fun.
Dale's gonna turn the lightsout sorry.
Speaker 4 (01:20:28):
Dale's gonna turn the
lights out.
Sorry, sandy, dale's going toturn the lights out so you can
see what it looks like when it'sdark here.
Speaker 1 (01:20:35):
Ooh, maybe I'll see
more.
You just might A lot of thingsgo bump in the night, so to
speak.
Speaker 4 (01:20:45):
I just saw something
again.
Me and Dale are hearing stuffall night behind us yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:20:51):
so I'm just saying
like it kind of darted out of
that room.
Speaker 4 (01:20:58):
That's what you see
down here.
Speaker 5 (01:21:00):
We were redoing our
gift shop, opening it up and
doing some different stuff, andI was up working on things
during the day with a fellow whowas putting the flooring in and
I went out, was up working onthings during the day with a
fellow who's putting the theflooring in, and I went out into
our main hallway and he goes.
We got all kinds of racketgoing on today and I'm like um,
like, like seen or unseen, andhe goes.
(01:21:21):
You know what I mean, carrie, Igo.
Could you just tell him to bequiet while I'm in the hallway?
And it calmed down Really.
Yeah, I came out about 20minutes later I said, is it a
little bit better out here?
And he goes well, yeah, I go.
Well, tell them they canentertain you.
It's just when I come out, justtone it down and that's it.
(01:21:45):
That's funny and when they messwith my computers, computers and
electrical equipment, I justsay can't, can y'all leave this
stuff alone?
And it usually fixes itselfkind of fast.
I think that's accommodating.
I appreciate that.
I just don't want to see it orfeel it that's funny.
Speaker 1 (01:22:02):
I I'm sorry, I just
think that's that is so good,
like I like your perspective, because we don't see that a lot
on the like when we have peoplethat are um owners of, uh,
haunted or the proprietors, Iguess, of haunted locations or
whatever they're all like ohyeah, I love going in and
everything and see whatever youwere, just like you know it's
(01:22:26):
haunted, you just don't want tobe there right that's so cool.
Speaker 5 (01:22:31):
I love that yeah on
occasion I will accommodate my
staff on staff appreciation dayand go ghost hunting for maybe
an hour and yes, things happenand I'm ready to go.
They, they gave me a t-shirtparanormal investigator.
Cause I always, I always tellpeople you know how you're a
(01:22:53):
paranormal investigator, andthey say how black t-shirt,
white print paranormalinvestigator.
Speaker 1 (01:22:59):
That's funny, cause
all of our t-shirts are black.
They are black.
Speaker 5 (01:23:03):
They are black.
Yes, and I'm like we instituteda pink one about a year ago
Cause we felt, like you know,I'm like we instituted a pink
one about a year ago because wefelt, like you know, he'll need
to go pink for breast cancerawareness too, but we needed
pink in our world.
I like pink, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:23:19):
That's funny.
That's pretty awesome.
Speaker 5 (01:23:21):
We're trying to
branch out from black with white
print.
We still have a lot of that, though, I have to say.
Speaker 1 (01:23:30):
Like I said, every
bit of our merch is black with
white print.
It's still badass.
People like it.
Speaker 5 (01:23:42):
I got my black on
here.
We go Me too.
Speaker 1 (01:23:54):
We get down to the
end of the shows and we do some
fun stuff.
We ask questions just to get toknow our guests a little bit,
just superficially.
Right, just barely breaking theskin, unlike my cut we talked
about earlier, anyway, and it'scalled this or that.
So, basically, we ask aquestion, or two questions, and
you just decide which one youlike.
(01:24:15):
Or it could be both, or neither, or whatever, but the answer we
just need an answer, that's allit is.
So, with that being said, Iwould like all three of you to
do this or that.
Are you down for that?
(01:24:36):
Sure why, not Very cool DW.
Yeah, I believe it's my turn.
Speaker 2 (01:24:45):
It is your turn.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 1 (01:24:47):
All right, so go for
it.
This is good because I'm gonnado some fun pennsylvania-esque
jokes.
So hope you guys are sportsfans, because that's about the
only thing I know aboutpennsylvania.
But here it goes.
The awesome goes, the awesome.
Badass Pittsburgh Penguins orthose dastardly Philadelphia
(01:25:14):
Flyers.
Speaker 2 (01:25:22):
Three confused looks.
Speaker 4 (01:25:27):
I'm from Jersey, oh
devil's fan.
Speaker 1 (01:25:29):
I got you, I'm from
Jersey.
Oh, devil's fan penguins yesalright.
Speaker 5 (01:25:35):
Dale's not going to
answer, right Dale no, I said
penguins, oh you did saypenguins.
Oh, I thought you were going tosay something else alright,
that's good.
Speaker 1 (01:25:47):
Alright, so might as
well go for the other.
Oh, I thought you were going tosay something else.
All right, that's good.
That's good, all right.
So might as well go for theother rivals in another game the
okay Pittsburgh Steelers or thedefending Super Bowl champions,
philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 4 (01:26:07):
My Eagles 100%.
Speaker 5 (01:26:11):
Coming back with the
Steelers.
Sorry, and I said it rightSteelers.
Speaker 3 (01:26:16):
Steelers yeah, sorry
guys.
Yeah, no need to be sorry atall.
Speaker 1 (01:26:24):
Look, I don't know if
you see this, but I conform to
nobody.
That's the Raiders hat baby.
Speaker 5 (01:26:32):
Guys, I'm going to go
black and gold all the way, so
just you know.
You know where we're, where westand, OK born and raised.
Speaker 3 (01:26:41):
All right, but if I
had to choose between Pittsburgh
or between the Steelers and theEagles, I'd pick the Eagles.
Speaker 2 (01:26:46):
That's right, because
he can't pick Pittsburgh, right
I?
Speaker 3 (01:26:51):
hate Pittsburgh.
I hate the Steelers.
Speaker 5 (01:26:55):
Okay, so he knows
what's going to happen to him in
the basement, in the boilerroom, then.
Speaker 3 (01:27:00):
I have an
understanding with George we're
good, was that a frat?
Speaker 1 (01:27:04):
What's going on?
Speaker 5 (01:27:04):
now we have an entity
that is a big Steelers fan and
there's Steelers stuff all overthe board.
Speaker 2 (01:27:10):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 5 (01:27:12):
And he's been known
to throw things at people who
are not Now.
He's back in the 70s, when Igrew up Big time 70s Steelers
fans.
So you better watch yourselfdown there, Dale.
Speaker 3 (01:27:31):
Me and him have an
understanding.
We're good.
Speaker 5 (01:27:33):
All right.
Speaker 1 (01:27:37):
I'm wearing a Raiders
hat.
He's going to be throwing shitat me too.
Speaker 3 (01:27:43):
What's he do?
Speaker 5 (01:27:43):
with guys with hats
on Dale?
What's he do with people withhats on with?
Speaker 3 (01:27:47):
different teams.
Speaker 5 (01:27:48):
Knocks them off.
Speaker 1 (01:27:50):
I'm only wearing mine
today because I haven't shaved
my head.
Speaker 2 (01:27:54):
The thing is I didn't
do this on purpose.
I'm wearing my Vikings.
Speaker 3 (01:27:59):
I've seen it.
That was the first thing henoticed.
Speaker 1 (01:28:05):
That's awesome, all
right.
So we're going to go into thefood.
The food, and you know, becauseit's dw's favorite.
So, and why not?
Dw's favorite meal, breakfast?
If you were gonna havebreakfast, would you want your
Over easy?
Speaker 4 (01:28:24):
Over easy Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:28:28):
Bacon or sausage.
Speaker 4 (01:28:30):
Bacon, bacon.
Speaker 3 (01:28:33):
Bacon.
Speaker 1 (01:28:36):
Toast or bagels.
Speaker 3 (01:28:41):
Bagels.
Speaker 4 (01:28:41):
Either.
Speaker 3 (01:28:42):
Bagels.
Speaker 1 (01:28:45):
Okay, biscuits and
gravy or hash browns biscuits
and gravy without the gravy allright, I'm with the biscuits and
gravy all the way.
It's a little fatty.
I'm trying to stay away from itright now, but you know that's
(01:29:05):
what I'd be, that's what I'd bedoing.
Okay, we're gonna go into thethe ultra fun stuff paranormal
or comedy paranormal both.
Yay, I knew carrie was gonna saythat all right, and since you
know we're on the comedy alittle bit, what is the best TV
(01:29:29):
show in a workplace?
Parks, and Rec or the Office?
The?
Speaker 4 (01:29:37):
Office.
Okay, dale's at a loss forwords.
Yeah, I know.
Speaker 1 (01:29:46):
I mean you could say
many others, like WKRP in
Cincinnati, I mean there'sDating ourselves.
Speaker 3 (01:29:55):
Well, it's either or,
so I have to choose one of them
two.
Speaker 1 (01:29:59):
It's played by the
rules yeah, it's too hard.
I mean it's not really, it'sthe Office.
Speaker 3 (01:30:06):
But I mean, you know,
I mean it's not really.
Speaker 1 (01:30:08):
It's the Office.
Speaker 3 (01:30:09):
But I mean, you know,
I just think it was Aubrey
Plaza's character in Parks that.
Speaker 2 (01:30:16):
I loved she was yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:30:21):
She can be in
anything I watch Right Just
saying here's a guy, I'm justheard not carried was just
hilarious I love it.
Speaker 5 (01:30:36):
Yeah, okay, someone
just moved down one north, you
guys yep you saw it too.
Speaker 4 (01:30:42):
Yep, oh, my god,
almighty, we're hearing these
bangs and everything.
Yep.
Speaker 1 (01:30:49):
Yep, we're sitting
here in the middle of this or
that and, booyah, paranormalactivity happening.
Dw's over there just going.
I want my donut, that's allhe's thinking.
Speaker 2 (01:30:57):
All right.
Something's wrong with mypicture because I didn't see
anything.
Speaker 1 (01:31:01):
No, it's right around
the same area and it's been
happening the whole time.
Okay, we're gonna get to themeat of the matter here.
This one's always always super, super fun benito mussolini or
(01:31:26):
john olsen john olsen john orJohn Olson, john Olson, john
Olson.
Speaker 2 (01:31:34):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:31:42):
For our listeners at
home.
Dale just shrugged in confusion.
He's either shrugging askingwho in the hell is John john
olsen, or I have no idea whojohn olsen is or benito
mussolini's.
Not that bad, maybe I'll gowith him.
I don't know which one he'sthinking I also like that.
Speaker 2 (01:31:58):
There was a big pause
before anyone answered, so it
was like I was like what's themeaning of this?
Speaker 5 (01:32:04):
oh, it's fun, that's.
That's the meaning of it.
Speaker 1 (01:32:07):
It's fun.
That's the meaning of it.
It's fun.
You ask if it's.
Speaker 5 (01:32:12):
Mussolini, with
everybody.
No, we change up the evilcharacter.
Speaker 2 (01:32:19):
But you'll be
surprised how many people say I
don't know who John Olsen is,and how many people say, well,
if we're talking road trip, yeah, I'll go with oj over john
olsen so yeah, it's a veryhumbling question because john
re-evaluates his life choicesevery, every episode, yeah so
(01:32:44):
all right, so I failed.
Speaker 1 (01:32:47):
You're fine.
These are the ones that arestaples, at least when I'm
asking.
So I have to ask you know, andthere is this Would you rather
go to the wonderful, wonderful, fabulous Las Vegas, nevada or
New Orleans during Mardi Gras?
Speaker 3 (01:33:07):
Mardi Gras.
Speaker 4 (01:33:08):
Mardi Gras, been
there Neither.
Speaker 5 (01:33:13):
Neither I'm in.
Speaker 3 (01:33:15):
Square Square.
Speaker 4 (01:33:22):
You would like Mardi
Gras, maybe.
Speaker 1 (01:33:25):
Alright, okay, so if
you were going to go to neither
one of those places but you weretagging along with your friends
, would you want to drive or fly?
Fly fly drive.
I'm with you, dale, I'm withyou, we'll drive alright.
So I mean, that was this orthat.
(01:33:46):
You guys are freaking awesome.
Uh, dw, do you have anythingelse?
I, I don't think so um the.
Speaker 2 (01:33:56):
The only question I
didn't get to answer or didn't
get to ask was I was wonderingabout the psychic teacher, if
she, at the beginning of thesemester, can go to her students
and say, um john, you're gonnafail, and so that's the way she
can predict the future.
And then at the end of thesemester, it's like see, I was
right, you're just.
Speaker 1 (01:34:17):
Yeah, that's a that's
a first of all.
Speaker 5 (01:34:19):
It wouldn't have
taken a psychic well, I'd hope
as a teacher they would thinkthey'd never think you would
fail, because then they weren'tdoing their job and trying to
that that's true.
Speaker 2 (01:34:36):
You shouldn't have
that, that mindset, going into
it right, exactly, yeah um, yeah, so you have your psychic
teacher question answered.
Speaker 1 (01:34:49):
That's good.
Movement's still happening downthe hallway, so that's been
pretty awesome and consistent,so I hope you guys have a fun
rest of your night there, sandyand Dale while Carrie's at home,
all right.
(01:35:12):
So yeah, I just want to saythank you for coming on.
This has been really fun, veryinformative and, I don't know,
maybe I I might do this off airand get a hold of dw and see if
we can make a trip out there foryour uh hill con or whatever
and and do some fun stuff there,so you could do this or that
(01:35:34):
there we go, I do, I do the showthere.
Absolutely I would do it, Iwould literally record this
podcast right there in thathallway with you three with well
, no, she'll be zoom, but Sandyand Dale will be there with us
and then I'll be with Carriejust going.
Speaker 2 (01:35:57):
So how?
Speaker 3 (01:35:57):
is it John?
Speaker 5 (01:36:00):
this is Carrie and DW
coming from Orr's Donuts.
Or what's the ice cream placedown the street we could give a
plug to.
Oh, it's so good Creamy.
About a mile down the street.
Remote See, we could patchright in.
(01:36:22):
We'll get a hotspot on ourphone.
We'll plug into y'all and talkabout it.
Speaker 1 (01:36:27):
We'll figure it out.
I'll do it shit.
Why not let's go?
Speaker 2 (01:36:31):
I got this, that'll
be chocolate or vanilla we'll do
this or that in the ice creamshop that's I like it.
Yeah, there are no, there areno losers in that game.
Speaker 5 (01:36:46):
That's right.
Thank you all for asking us tocome on.
I was a little skeptic at first.
Yes, thank you.
This was very, very nice.
You guys were great.
Speaker 2 (01:36:59):
Thank you.
Speaker 5 (01:37:00):
I appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (01:37:03):
Thank you for coming
on, and I'm glad I get to hang
out and see paranormal stuffwhile I'm recording the podcast.
That's pretty badass.
Last time this happened, wewere at a strip club and, yes,
we were doing the podcast and no, there wasn't any strippers, so
we go to a haunted strip club.
Speaker 2 (01:37:19):
I see zero ghosts and
zero naked ladies In that this
or that.
That was a lose-lose situation.
Speaker 3 (01:37:31):
Pretty much yes.
Speaker 1 (01:37:33):
All right.
Well, we got to get out of herebecause you know it's getting
late and they have to go home, otherwise those entities are
going to keep them there.
We don't want to have thathappen.
All right, so well.
Again, thank you for coming on.
This was a whole lot of fun.
(01:37:53):
Greatly, greatly appreciate it,and you guys might know what
this means.
It means that you guys havebeen amazing.
We have been scolarius and weare out Later.
