In this episode, Jen Underwood and I talk about living a life that we carefully created, developed, devised, and were really good at. We also talk about waking up to that not being who we really are and allowing ourselves to nurture the process of self-discovery and exploration to find our true selves. We both feel that being authentic is the process of coming home to yourself, and we are SO on the same page about how once you start being true to you, the path will literally be lit in front of you. When you are following your heart’s desires, the universe supports you in a new and different way as if it was waiting all along for you to show up authentically.

1.    Model the life you want your kids to have for themselves

2.    Allow the process of self-discovery to happen by exploring what lights your heart up 

3.    Take off the “Jen suit” and stop being guarded, stop holding back your truest self-expression

4.    Listen to your body and your energy, it will tell you where it’s right for you to be

5.    Find community in the spaces where you feel like you belong, build families with them, it will fill you up, build trust, and light up your energy. Support networks are critical, and they help keep you focused

6.    Being authentic is the process of coming home to yourself

7.    Once you start being true to you, the path will literally be lit in front of you

8.    Just like our kids need to tell us how they feel or what they want every day, the universe doesn’t know what we want until we start showing it – aka following our heart’s desires

9.    You have to do the work first, explore and unearth what you are excited about, and the universe will be like “thanks, I’ve been waiting for you to show up”

10. Show the universe what you want, then let go and trust. The universe will show you how to trust by how it supports you and has your back. Your anxiety will literally melt away
