This is Vikings uncensored, where fans can befans, unfiltered, unhinged, and uncensored.
(04:15):
Welcome in, everyone, to our very first episodeof Vikings Uncensored.
I am your host, Bubba Starts.
And with me, as always, is my boy, coach Cody.
Coach, welcome to the show.
How we doing, man?
Man, we got some really special guests.
Sir Picasso's in the house tonight.
(04:36):
We're gonna bring him on in just a second.
He's painting away on Facebook and also in reallife, working on some canvases.
We're gonna share some of his awesome stuff.
They just had a big event with Aaron Jones lastnight, so we're gonna bring him on to talk
about all of that in just a few minutes here.
But, coach, what a stinker on Sunday.
(04:58):
Man, that was unbelievable.
Just everything start to finish.
Well, it didn't start out that bad.
I'm not gonna be gonna lie, but just ending ina shutout, come on now.
Like
Like, at some point, just kick the kick thefield goal.
Take the points.
Right?
Take the points.
Get the goose egg off the board.
(05:19):
And at least there's one less thing to talkabout, right, over the course of the week
because there was so much bad, but oh mygoodness.
I'm glad I wasn't watching.
I was in the car listening.
What was the worst part was that I had walkedout right as, they recovered the strip sack.
So I'm, like, leaving, walking out the door.
(05:40):
By the time I got to the edge of my tiny town,I turn on the radio.
I get K fan on, Paul Allen's like, well, it'sten to nothing.
And I'm like, well, we just recovered a fumbleat the twenty.
What are you talking about?
But, yeah, it is what it is.
This is a place for all of us to commiserateover what has been an absolutely failed season
(06:03):
for the Minnesota Vikings.
Obviously, for some of you fans, we do apregame show two hours before every game.
Coach Cody, former GM and head coach of theSaint Paul bears, now working with the Wyoming
cavalry.
He brings in the, the analysis and the deepfootball stuff.
I'm just a guy who likes football and reallyappreciates the fans of football teams.
(06:29):
And, speaking of fans and and big super fans, member of the Viking World Order, let's bring
on sir Picasso here, better known as DarthViking to most.
What's happening, buddy?
How are doing tonight?
Man, what's good?
What's good?
How are you feeling, man?
Yeah.
I was just tuning into your live a few minutesago, and now here we are on my live.
(06:52):
That's we just live in front of camera thesedays.
Man, so you are.
I mean, if you go to promote yourself.
Right?
That's we're in a we're in a age of socialmedia.
And so, yeah, I felt bad.
Like, I actually shut my live off because myboys called.
And it was just well, one of my sons called me,so I'm like, fuck.
I better go back on quick because there was acouple people who were, you know, kinda vibing
(07:13):
out.
And and so yeah.
Yeah.
I'll give you a little glimpse.
So I'm working on a custom one of a kind threedeep like you've never seen before.
I'm not gonna give away the the overall of thiscanvas, the the subject, but it is it is it is
going to j.
(07:34):
This will be getting placed all over the how doI turn my camera around?
Oh, that
Oops.
I had to put I to put my flat bill on here too.
We'll see if he can get his camera flippedaround.
He's back.
There so how do I turn my camera around?
(07:55):
You might have to just turn your phone around.
Alright.
I'll do that.
Are you there?
Can be done.
So at the very bottom of my screen, it shows, arefresh thing.
So I'm like, oh, that that must be it.
That's not it.
So this is all spray painted.
You're so freaking unreal, man.
(08:17):
So this is literally nine by 10 inches on an 18by 24 canvas.
It turned out dope.
I'm gonna show you one of my favorite I shouldahad this all set up.
But like you said, I was live trying to showoff what I'm doing, and I'm painting, and I got
stuff going on in my own world right now.
No mother's switch.
(08:38):
I'll let there be love.
I mean, we got bro, we got stuff signed bylike, I've done work for Mike Tyson.
Oh, man.
So if we have any boxing fans in there, this isa two foot by three foot canvas.
It is the number one of two.
Mike Tyson owns the number two.
(08:58):
Mike owns the number two, bro.
I couldn't I couldn't give him the number one.
No.
You can't give up the number one.
I was like, it's for me, though, being a fan, bro, I'm telling you, like, it was super cool
for that.
Man, I got everything from we gotstormtroopers.
I got a number 405 Alexander Madison left.
(09:19):
We got some ninja turtles.
Those are sick.
Man.
Unreal.
Right, coach?
Honestly.
Honestly.
I have a
Justin like, I go by Sir Picasso.
I have a Justin Jefferson Picasso format.
I
gotta give me one of them.
I gotta give me one of them.
(09:39):
Oh, yeah.
All you gotta do is shoot me a message, andI'll I'll hit you up with this one right here,
bro.
Let
me Alright.
So right no.
But right now so 16 by 20, that's 400.
They go for $400.
Yeah.
That's still stealing.
Oh, yeah.
It's a it's a it's a one of a kind.
We got some Nasrid.
(10:00):
They
look like photographs.
Yeah.
Posters.
Right?
So yeah.
You're so good, man.
It blows
me up.
Dude, this is one of my favorites.
This is an old one.
I did this seven years ago.
Right?
Bob Lurzema.
Hey, bugging benchwarmer Bob, bro.
He's, bugging how great is that?
(10:23):
I had to bust my flat bill out because I knowyou're always rocking some sick headgear.
You had the pink one on the other day.
That was that one's awesome.
So I have 230 of them.
Man, put me the same.
I guess metallic gold, one of a kind, 12 inchautograph, Jordan Addison.
(10:44):
He told me flat out this was the biggestautograph he's ever done.
It's got that metallic gold inside.
Oh, man.
And here's the kicker, bro.
It don't even have to be sports, coach.
Picture you and your family, your pet.
I could paint anything, bro.
You want your kid to look like fucking SpiderMan?
(11:05):
I could put Captain America.
Alright.
Love it.
Oh, yeah.
We're we're definitely gonna have toexperiment.
Yeah.
Well and we always I I what I love is thatyou're always doing stuff for charity, and
that's what really attracted me to you andShelley and the Viking World Order everything
that you guys do.
(11:26):
Here, wanna show off the one that you did lastnight.
So there's the one that they auctioned off lastnight, guys.
My guy, Alvin Jones.
Oh, that was, Aaron Jones on that one.
Yeah?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So cool, man.
So you guys auction this one off live.
Right?
Yeah.
So they actually reached out to me last week,Friday.
(11:47):
I'm working on this.
I was finishing up another Canvas, and they'relike, oh, we really want you to do something
live at the new the new Topgolf in Woodbury.
And I'm like, I can't I can't spray live.
I wear a respirator to protect myself.
So and then also this is like, I know howTopgolf is.
Like, this is it's ink it's close proximity.
(12:08):
Right?
So spray paint can still stick to you, and Idon't want anybody else dealing with any of
that.
But I'm like, I can paint something and bringit with.
Yeah.
If you think you'll have time.
I painted that canvas in three days.
That's Oh, wow.
While working on this too.
I got and so this is a this is a branding deal.
(12:28):
Right?
So if you wanna do branding, you actually outof the deal, you get two eighteen by 24
canvases.
You'll be able to keep one for yourself.
Each one's gonna be completely different, butyou would keep one for yourself.
And then the other one you would use becausethe background would have a softer tone, you
can use the color.
You can use the portrait for clothing, forposters, for you own the rough, whatever you
(12:52):
want, whatever you want to put it on and sell.
That's up to you.
You've purchased that right.
So each canvas is gonna be different.
So when I say I'm working on this, I'm workingon this.
I got the other one right there.
Just one step ahead of it.
And so I'm always multitasking, bro.
And then, like you said, like, to be able to dosomething that for, last night's event was for
(13:14):
their all the way foundation.
And I kind of boasted a little bit That canvasright there, live auctioned over everything
else that they had, and that canvas sold formore than a Speedflex Justin Jefferson helmet,
full size.
(13:34):
So
Okay.
Go crazy.
I was yeah.
That's kinda like I was going, come on now.
Really?
I was shocked to find that out.
But it was really cool because, so Alvin andAaron are twins.
Alvin played for the Ravens, and he was on somehe was on another team too, wouldn't he?
(13:56):
But he don't I don't think he plays anymore, but it was also it's their birthday today.
So, yeah, that was one of my pictures of itbecause it's, like, bright.
You can see everything in it, man.
Like, it just the canvas itself, like, screamsshowtime.
Mhmm.
I incorporated pops.
You know, he lost his father, so I incorporatedthat on in the wristband.
(14:21):
Also, in the helmet in the bottom corner, it'sgot a German flag.
Like his mom, they're for the military family.
So and they were stationed in Germany.
So that that kinda touch base has a little homeplate for him.
So I wanted to make things really personal forhim.
But, yeah, for Alvin to purchase that canvasfor his mom was dope.
(14:45):
Like, I was I was kinda telling people on mylife, like, just to kinda set up the ambiance
is it was literally in Topgolf before you goout on a tier.
If you ever been there, like, on the tier whereyou tee off and play, it's kinda like just a
little clubhouse on the inside.
Right?
And Aaron Jones and Alvin just showed up.
So everybody who was already there is now inthe midst of this little area.
(15:09):
So that's how loud, like, people are talking.
They're trying to get his attention.
And my wife got a cool video.
We I think we posted it, but, Alvin went andbrought Aaron over to show him the Canvas.
And so I hadn't had a word of him yet, and Ihad no idea.
My wife was recording.
So I had just walked over, and he was showinghim.
(15:29):
He's like, yeah.
That's the guy.
So Alvin Aaron just comes up and kinda dabs meup.
And I kinda asked him.
I'm like, you remember me, and you can see himbe like, yeah.
Like, so and then they had this whole thing.
But over my shoulder, I hear the lady who'sputting it on, Carly, telling his mom, oh,
that's the guy who painted it.
She goes, that's so beautiful.
And then Alvin, like, kinda hits me.
(15:50):
He's like, I'm like, I gotta get this for moms.
So they ended up buying that canvas for theirmom.
That's awesome.
It was Yeah.
And all the money goes to charity, and it'sjust so cool, man, that you use these talents
that you've been given to just do so much goodin the world and to get these kind of crazy
(16:10):
opportunities.
I mean, you've done
Yeah.
You know, obviously, you showed us the MikeTyson one, and, I mean, there's stuff that you
can't tell us about.
People you've met and commission pieces thatyou've done.
You know?
I've seen a couple of your you you had to renta truck or, like, damn near had to rent a U
Haul to get one of these out, didn't you?
I I actually rented a Jeep Wagoneer, and I didwe did a little bit of research to make sure it
(16:33):
was wide enough because this local this companyout of Mankato commissioned four four foot by
five foot canvases, all at different individualimages, from Justin Jefferson, Randy Moss, and
Kevin Garnett, you know, the sports swap photo,Kirby Puckett, and then a Minnesota miracle.
(16:58):
But to get all of those canvases to fit in avehicle, I'm sitting there going, okay.
So we were originally going to rent a U Haul aswell because in my mind, I would just get some
Styrofoam, place them up against the wall, andwe just ratchet strap them to the walls.
Right?
But then I'm like, oh, okay.
Well, she I'm not going.
Then I'm looking at U Haul prices.
(17:19):
No disrespect, but I'm not paying for yourmileage and the vehicle.
It's just cheaper for me to rent a truck.
And I go, well, let's rent a Suburban orsomething, and we called locally.
They didn't have one.
Oh, we got a Jeep Wagon here.
And I remember when my buddy Eric flew in fromJersey, they rented one.
That thing is huge, bro.
And when I tell you this third row, everythinglaid down, these four foot these canvases fit
(17:44):
just snug.
Like, just like when the door closes, it was, like, nestled the canvases in.
Like, it was perfect.
But on top of those four big ass canvases, theyalso had seven sixteen by twenties.
So that was dope.
Yeah.
Those those came out fire.
And my wife, Shelley, did a phenomenal job withthe she does it like she's playing with AI and
(18:07):
doing videos, and, man, they're they'reincredible.
Last night's event, you know, right now I'mdoing a super fans calendar, right, to raise
money for veterans.
And little segue, Aaron Jones, I brought twocalendars up there to him.
I'm like, look.
Can you sign these for me?
(18:27):
So I'm gonna sell them to make more money formy cherry.
He's like, what?
Okay.
I'm like, I just wanna be honest with him.
I'm not keeping it.
I I sell to me, it's just cool having thatexperience of what I what I went through last
night.
But if I can use something like this calendar, like so regular wall calendars are $30 apiece,
but a autograph one of a kind Aaron Jones.
(18:48):
This is the only one.
Right?
I got some signed by TJ Hockinson who is asponsor of our pillars of valor.
He is a partner with that company to raisemoney for veterans.
I got four five of these.
I'm down to one left, but there is only oneAaron Jones one, bro.
You know what I mean?
Like so if you're a collector, I like thethings that nobody has, the rare things.
(19:10):
But if if I can combine what I do with myrarity because nobody spray paints on canvas,
nobody's you know, you don't get to get arandom calendar sign.
I will.
I don't want something that you have.
Yeah.
Live life one of a kind.
I I love I love the motto, man.
I I can't let you take all the spotlight.
We gotta feature the women of the North too.
(19:32):
So it's kind of a a competition between
I have one too.
Oh.
You.
You got one too here.
Oh.
I I stole some pictures off of Shelley'sFacebook before I jumped on tonight.
And, yeah, I just love what you guys are doingwith this.
And it heard earlier too.
Well and it's so cool because you get the Oof.
(19:55):
Yeah.
I will show I'll show you.
So, Devin
Here.
I'm a give you the stage.
Yeah.
Celebrity.
Right?
So this is January.
This is how glossy this page.
Like, it's these pictures are so freaking coolclean-cut.
You could see every reflection.
I apologize for my tablet being in thebackground.
(20:17):
No.
So the wall like I said, wallpaper the wallcalendars are $30.
She has desktop calendars.
They're four by eight.
These things are super slick.
Pop into place.
Set it on your desk.
There you go.
Switch it every month.
You get to see some of those cool super fans.
Like myself, we dress up I dress up as, DarthViking.
(20:38):
I can show you that one, but like I said, ifyou wanna see some of the other ones So this is
how the wall calendar will look.
Man, see that they are glossy.
Holy shit.
Almost can't even see
it on.
Yeah.
(20:59):
100%.
Like, it reflects its own TV.
They're on my phone.
But that's what I mean, man.
These things are sharp.
Anything we're gonna put our name on, bro, isgonna be good quality.
So and I like I said, we do a lot of donatingwhether I'm, you know, somebody's going through
some tough times and, you know, they've reachedout about raffling off a canvas or you know?
(21:23):
So that's what I was gonna tell you too.
Like, if that Justin Jefferson, sir Picasso thePicasso one right there, I've already said that
I'm gonna, like, raffle that off for a buddy ofmine whose son is going through, he just had
two brain surgeries, and he's in the hospitalnow because of swelling in his brain.
So I have to drain it out, and it's a it's aprocess, bro.
(21:44):
But even worse, like, it's it's costly.
You know?
And this is his kid.
He's 23 years old.
He's a great kid.
So that's why he said, if you wanna purchasethat, I'm gonna I'm gonna give you his PayPal,
and I want you to send him the money.
I'll mail you to Canvas.
Alright.
Bet.
I just try to help other people out, man.
And if I if I can do it just one shot, like, just give him something that's gonna give him a
(22:07):
peace of mind that covers at least one portionof the medical bill for this month, then, you
know, it takes a little bit off of his back, and I know the stress that he's got.
I got kids, bro.
Anybody coach, I don't know if you got kids.
Bobby, know, it's just like, could you imagineyour son having to have brain surgery and then
having to go back in and then finding out yougotta go back to the hospital because it's
(22:29):
swelling?
He's not like, his speech, he's not he justwasn't doing good.
And so he's getting better, but it it's thingslike that that break my heart, and I just try
to, you know, help as many people as I can.
And it's not about money with me with painting.
I guess so many people that, you know, they seewhat I do and think that I should be blown up.
(22:50):
But I feel
like And, honestly, if you had, like, an agent, coach Vincent Fortner Bay says, what's up,
coach Cody?
What's going on, coach?
So you probably can't see all the comments asthey come in, but that you could.
Right?
Like, if you had an agent and you wanted to golive in just the art world and sell your
paintings for like, bro, your stuff is stuff isunbelievable.
(23:15):
I've seen a lot of art in my life.
I've never seen anything like what you've done.
And and you've probably given away more moneyand, you know, like, than some people make in a
year.
Right?
Like, that you give away an art by makingthings available, whatever it might be.
That's what really attracted me to you andShelley and the VWO.
(23:36):
Obviously, sir Death has a massive platformonline on the social media.
He's always trying to, you know not necessarilystarting all these charities, but I know a lot
of people gotta come to him and say, hey, man.
Can you can you blast this link?
Like, skulls
Oh my god.
Mistakes.
Right?
You know, it's an it's nothing for me to shareit, and that's kinda why I was so attracted to
you guys.
(23:56):
We were up there for the Whiteout game lastyear and getting to meet everyone, and
everyone's dressed up.
And I just such a high vibe.
Last year's vibes around this team were a lotdifferent.
Right?
So it was coming in
to the
Whiteout game Monday night against the bearsand getting to experience all of that.
It just was like, man, I'd I'll give upeverything to be part of this crew.
(24:20):
You know?
And that's that was a big factor for me wantingto do, you know, the pregame show and now
moving into this during the week where weactually have a chance to talk.
Game day for you and for everybody else isbusy.
You know?
And unless we can start to do the pregame showat the tailgate, we ain't gonna see a lot of
you on on the program.
So it it was nice to get you on tonight.
(24:43):
I know you're busy.
I don't wanna keep you too long, but can youtell everybody where they can get the calendars
and everything before I let you out of here?
Oh, yes.
Just go you just shoot me a message either on,preferably on, my Marcus with my personal page.
You could shoot me a message.
But I have Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, and it'sall my Venmo is painting away, and my Cash App
(25:06):
is painting away, a w e y h.
So, I mean, you know, like I said, 100% ofthese wall counters go to support veterans and
pillars of valor.
You could check out the pillars of valor page.
You can see that it's a 100%.
Everything is like, they have to be legit forme to wanna mess with you know, to try and
(25:26):
promote you.
Yep.
Or even
put my name aside.
We've reached out to Zach as well, gettingahold of him to do some more stuff.
Obviously, veterans, you know, you can see thebanner behind me, Operation Combatic Veterans.
Zach's a great dude, bro.
Yeah.
Well and I'm looking forward to it.
I know in the season, and they got so muchstuff going on.
Hawk's doing a lot of things with them, and I Iknow he's busy.
(25:49):
But after this season or hopefully, you know, towards the end of the year, we can get
together and, yeah, continue doing exactly whatwe're doing right now, man.
Raising awareness, raising money for charity, and it just, like I mean, add Infinitum.
Right?
Like, keep this going.
If we all can do this for the rest of ourlives, I I think we'd be really happy, man.
So, Marcus, I appreciate you jumping on with ustonight, man.
(26:11):
I know you're a busy man, and you're doing yourthing, but I appreciate you.
Sir.
Alright, y'all.
I appreciate you.
Yeah.
I'm a I'm a watch for a little bit, but, yeah,I'm a get back to work.
Cool, man.
We're gonna talk some ball and commiserate alittle bit here with our fans too.
So that's sir Picasso.
Hey.
Don't ever give up hope on the Vikings, bro.
Just be patient.
(26:33):
Yeah.
I grew up a Cubs fan, man.
I'm flush on patience.
See?
But I but real shit, like, I just say realquick, I, people are always they're they're so
quick to give up on McCarthy.
They're so quick to get a look.
We drafted them for a reason.
Right?
Everybody has bad days, and people gottaremember too.
(26:54):
These guys are 20 years old.
20.
Half these half the people I talked to, my ageare in their forties, fifties years old.
I'm going, bro, were you great at what you didat 20 years old?
Shut up.
Let the man and also here's the difference.
You were just at work punching a clock.
He's trying not to get his clock punched by afucking six four, three hundred and fifty pound
(27:17):
linebacker.
By an animal.
K?
Like that.
Like that.
Let's breathe.
Let's give the man let's give some man somepatience.
Let's go.
He's looking fine.
Awesome, Marcus.
I appreciate you, man.
We're gonna see you around, and I I hope youget a chance to dip back in with us.
You know, obviously, not every week is apossibility, but I'd love to get Shelley on
(27:37):
sometime too and promote the women of the Northcalendar some more and all that.
I know she's got a secret Santa coming up too.
So I got a Always
something, bro.
Always something, man.
I love it.
It never ends.
Yes, sir.
That's sir Picasso, Marcus Way painting away onall the social media you find him.
Awesome, man.
(27:58):
So cool.
That that's why I started this show.
That's why I was so mean, yeah, we can talkball.
There's plenty of other shows that talk ball, but, I've been very fortunate to meet, you
know, hanging out at the Viking World Ordertailgate, seeing these super fans, and seeing
what they were about, which was, helping theless fortunate no matter who that is.
(28:19):
Right?
It's not just one charity that they're helpingit.
It's dozens or, you know, hundreds of them overthe course of time.
And, it it really drove home to me that, like, yeah, we all love football.
We love this team, but it's about more thanfootball.
And I think that, you know, you're a greatexample of that too, and what really attracted
(28:40):
me to you was that you're about helping youngmen and helping young men grow and especially
working in, you know, the indoor footballleagues or, you know, these smaller leagues.
You still got guys that are chasing a dream tomaybe get to the NFL or or to to keep playing
in general and to keep playing ball.
Can you talk a little bit about your experienceas a coach?
(29:04):
And to give our fans, since it's not a game dayand there ain't a whole lot to talk about
football wise with this team right now, I wannagive you a little bit to share, you know, a
little bit of your story, coach.
Well, I mean yeah.
I mean, I just I love helping helping otherpeople.
You know?
As a football coach, yeah, I wanna, you know, grow and succeed and elevate myself, but I want
(29:30):
my players to go further and beyond.
You know, that's just that's that should be acoach's mindset no matter what.
You know, putting the players first.
You know, I I love all my players, literallyevery single one of them.
You know, we do we're doing this together.
(29:50):
We're fighting together.
You know, I'm I know I'm not on the field, butI'm doing everything I can to help them, every
time, every game, every down.
You know?
And and I'm excited for what's to come.
You know?
I just I know I've got, you know, one player, formerly, from the Saint Paul Bears, and, you
(30:12):
know, he's gonna be playing in the a f one.
I got many more on the way.
It's just a matter of time.
And that's just, you know, just seeing theirgrowth, you know, over the years.
That makes me so happy.
You know, almost like a job well done type ofthing.
But, you know, there's more more players outthere.
And, you know, this these smaller leagues, these developmental leagues, you know, there's,
(30:37):
you know, never say never type of thing.
Like, there's always a way.
No matter what, there's always a way.
Kurt Warner back in the day, you know, he tooka unorthodox, route to the NFL and made a
career out of it, a really great career out ofit.
You know?
So, yeah, just, you know, just if you want itbad enough, you know, you'll do what you need
(31:00):
to.
You'll go through where whatever you have to gothrough in order to get it.
So I just want
some of those players.
We got one of your one of your former playersand a friend of yours, I know, but it's Jameis
Neal chiming in with the go pack go, get thatnonsense out of here, man.
Oh, man.
Jameis.
Oh, man.
(31:21):
Killer.
He's a killer on the field.
He's he's the dog linebacker.
But, yeah, you can get that you can take thatpack shit and get out of here.
I've Tony Hicks commented earlier.
I didn't wanna put it up while, while Marcuswas here, but I think this is exactly how we
all feel about the Viking season right now.
(31:43):
Yeah.
It pretty much sums it up.
I mean You
you you took the uncensored straight to themax.
I appreciate that, Tony.
Thanks for tuning in.
Yes, sir.
Oh, man.
That's basically how I feel.
Know, I don't have any any backings.
When Max threw that ball off.
Know, I'm not I'm not even mad at that.
(32:06):
I'm more mad at the fact that, you know, atthat point in the game, you would take them
points.
You know?
You'd know you're playing against Sam Darnold.
You know what kind of quarterback he is.
We're our defense came to play.
You know?
And you take the points.
That way, you're not playing from behind, andyou don't have to get away from the run.
What did we run?
Six times?
That's oh, man.
(32:27):
That made me wanna puke.
Unbelievable.
Unbelievable.
Help your guy out.
You know?
Right.
And, well, it would have tied the game up, man.
An easy chip shot ties the game, and it justhas such a different feel to it.
And you talked about something when you weretalking about your experience about the coach
should be there to make his players better.
(32:47):
And I just feel like what's been exposed overthis season is Kevin O'Connell's stubbornness
and refusal to do that.
Now a lot of people that don't know about, youknow, my history I grew up.
My family's from Chicago.
I grew up rooting for the bears my whole life.
It was last season when they were in the dumps, but I watched that team quit.
(33:09):
Right?
And I was finally like, man, I've given thisteam so much of my time and attention, and
these grown ass men out here making millions ofdollars just just laid down.
Right?
And I've never seen that from this Vikingsteam.
And I know we may see that moving through therest of the season.
I don't think so.
But one thing that my good buddy, Draft DoctorPhil, on their show, keeping it 100 on the tape
(33:33):
never lies network, he would always say, and hewas you know, obviously, the bears had a lot of
turmoil last year with coaching and rollover.
And but you have to the play caller's job is tohelp the young player out.
And, obviously, Caleb Williams with the bearslast year had a miserable season.
Right?
I mean, he set records for passing yardsbecause the bears have been so atrocious at QB
(33:55):
forever.
No kidding.
You know, you you have to have a strong runninggame to match up with that.
And I've learned so much about football fromwatching my friend's YouTube show and watching
them grow, and he breaks down tape.
And, I mean, he does it all.
I've learned so much from just watching himbecause I didn't play the game, coach.
I I I played, you know, like, seventh andeighth grade.
(34:16):
I think I maybe played my freshman year, andthen I hung up the cleats.
It wasn't for me.
Right?
But always driving home that the coach's job isto help the players on the field perform at
their best.
And I feel like what we've seen out of KOC, andnot just this season, it's been all the time,
that he wants to be the quarterback so bad.
(34:41):
Right?
He's trying to live vicariously through thatheadset so bad that it is hindering his team.
And I think he's a great leader of men.
I think he still has those qualities.
But as a play caller, he cannot get out of hisown fucking way, and it's atrocious to watch
(35:02):
time after time after time.
And I think it's he's being exposed to thepoint, coach, where I think he came out with
some comments today that yeah.
Our our boy Willie chirping in, and Willie's aa Chiefs fan, right, down there in Missouri.
(35:23):
And across the board, a lot of teams to to manytry to fit the player into a box instead of
putting the players in a position to succeed.
Right?
And I feel and it's crazy this year because thestats reflect that strong running game.
The stats for this Viking were top 10 rushingyards per attempt.
(35:44):
You just have a coach that six attempts with anundrafted rookie quarterback.
What the hell are you doing?
And I think a lot of fans who were putting thisall on McCarthy two weeks ago are are waking up
to this now.
Right?
Like, the veil has been lifted now where it'slike, oh.
Oh, this guy's a problem.
(36:05):
Right?
Like, his his insistence on passing 80% of thetime is an issue when you have a absolutely
beat up offensive line.
You have two horses in the background.
Aaron Jones, we've obviously talked a lot abouton this episode for different reasons, but, you
know, this Jordan Mason looks like a prettygood back too.
(36:28):
Right?
Like
Yeah.
Yeah.
What are we doing?
You know, it it's it's tough.
And like I've like I've been saying, pastcouple weeks and just conversations with you,
during the week, you know, just, you know, being that coach to to want to, put your
players in the best position.
(36:50):
You know?
And with all the success that KOC has had overthe past few seasons, I kinda feel like he's
got that, you can't tell me nothing attitude.
And once you get that, everything starts toturn.
You know, the game's constantly evolving.
(37:11):
So as coaches, you have to constantly evolveyourself.
You know?
Yeah.
We should have ran the ball more.
I don't know why in the hell we didn't.
I don't know why we didn't take the points whenwe did.
Jordan Anderson, that first the first, like, few throws that Brozmer had, you know, it was a
(37:35):
I think it was a slant or a post or something, over from the left side, and he he just dropped
it.
He he it it was a perfect throw, you know, downthe field over 10 yards, and he just dropped
it.
The one to Jefferson.
You know?
Yeah.
It was a little bit behind him, but you gotyour hands on it.
(37:56):
Jefferson, we've seen you make harder catchesthan that.
You gotta come down with it.
Wide receivers have to help them out too.
You know?
That that's just all around bad football, badcoaching.
Man, bad GM moves.
They released Thielen after trading a fourthround pick for him.
(38:20):
And I'm like, what are we do we're just givingaway players.
You know?
And I think a lot of people justified the tradefor Thielen because you didn't know if you were
getting Naylor back, and you had kinda let nowand I don't know if anybody really you know,
Harrison Phillips.
You you trade Harrison Phillips, and I think alot of people justify that trade because you
(38:40):
kinda flipped that pick to get feeling, andthere was just a lot of thing.
And now you essentially gave away both guys fornothing.
Right.
Just gave Addison gave away Addison was onsuspension.
Right.
Right.
Well and I think that nailer injury reallyworried them, I guess, but still, man.
Like, what about type felt?
(39:01):
Like, what what about the guy that you draftedthat's on the team already?
You know?
Like, there's so many questions.
And I, you know, I think KOC is safe for thisyear.
I think Quasie's gone.
I think he's a Black Monday casualty.
There's just too I'm surprised, honestly.
He didn't get fired after the statementreleased with Thielen.
(39:22):
I don't know the Wells.
I'm a relatively new to the team, right, andfollowing this team, so I don't know a lot of
the history and what these owners are like.
There's some people that think Quasi's kindasafe and coming back regardless, but you can't
fuck this draft up, man.
You got 10 picks, and you need you need 80% ofthem to hit and to become if role players at
(39:45):
least on this team.
You this team is if you don't hit, you'relooking at a massive regression next year and
not not necessarily a rebuild of the roster, but everybody in the front office and coaching
staff is getting fired if you have a repeat ofthis season next year.
Oh, most definitely.
Most definitely.
Midseason, they won't even I wouldn't evenwait.
(40:08):
I wouldn't even give it the whole season.
If it looks if it looks like it this next year,I'm clearing house.
I'd clear house.
Obviously, things aren't working.
Changes need to be made.
I kinda agree with you, though.
I think KOC is safe.
(40:28):
He's just, you know, built too much credibilityover the past few years.
One season, you know, going into it, there weresome people that were like, is JJ McCarthy
ready?
So, I mean, Kwasey for sure, I would I won'teven let him mess up another draft.
(40:49):
I wouldn't even give him a chance to mess upanother draft.
10 picks?
No.
I'm not I'm not doing that.
No.
Mister Pink, I appreciate the comment.
I I think you're right.
Jefferson has to have a say because he's yourfranchise.
He's the one that people are still taking theirkids to go see on Sunday.
And I think US Bank is gonna sell out.
(41:10):
You're right.
You're gonna have 70,000 people in there nomatter what because and especially when tickets
get cheap that a lot of people Brandon Herrerachiming in to said, what's up,
Tony?
Man.
That, yeah, it's all it's almost nice forpeople with families because the tickets get
cheaper.
You can't afford to bring the three kids out toa game maybe and enjoy it.
(41:36):
But that that goodwill only lasts for so longtoo.
You know?
There's a lot of people that have alreadycashed their chips in, moving on to the wolves
in the wild.
They're tuning out of Vikings football and notconsuming it.
And it it's it's unfortunate that the seasonhas gone as poorly as it as it has for so many
(41:57):
reasons because the expectation was set sohigh.
Right?
14 wins last year with Sam Darnold.
I think everybody was in like this.
The 2025 is our year.
Right?
Let's go.
JJ's gonna step up.
And I think, you know, JJ looked to me like aguy who hadn't played football in a year.
(42:17):
And, unfortunately, that knee injury sidelininghim.
And it's not like, you know, I think he was onthe bench all year last, but, like, they had
planned for a red shirt year.
You don't sign Sam Darnold, who was a provenstarter in the league.
Now is he a top tier guy?
I don't think anyone's fighting you on onwhether he is or not.
But but you signed him to be the starter.
(42:40):
Right?
And you were hopeful that JJ would be able tosit back and learn the game, get all the
practice reps, and he didn't.
And, unfortunately, you, you really you reallymessed up this year putting him in a position
that he was never ready to step into.
You know?
And it seems like the move is, and BrandonHerrera asking if the Vikings entertain calls
(43:02):
about Jeddah.
I don't think so.
Not right now.
You go, you know, one and four to start nextyear.
I think he's demanding a trade at that point.
And and at that point, you know, you're gettingpennies on the dollar on that deal.
From what I've heard, I don't understand allthe contracts and everything, but the the money
(43:23):
you you you're not just trading him.
Right?
Nobody's taking on the money of his contract.
Right?
Is it 30 or $40,000,000 a year?
So you're talking about a ton of dead cap spacein there.
So it's not as easy as it is in some of theother sports or that it was traditionally in
the NFL, you know, ten years ago.
A lot of things have changed on that front.
(43:44):
So, you know, Jets is on this team.
JJ is on this team whether people, you know, want that or not.
I think, you know, with the arm talent that hehas, I think if he would have had that red
shirt year, he's a different quarterback thisyear.
Right?
If he's able to correct the footwork and theprocessing and to get all those reps on the
(44:07):
practice squad last year, especially with asgood as the defense was, right, that he would
have been a totally different player this year.
Unfortunately, that didn't happen.
And this year, the, the front office didn'thave a plan as far as, like, what happens if we
gotta pull the ripcord?
And if Carson Wentz was your answer, what thefuck were you thinking?
(44:28):
You know?
Like and and I think that's why Quasi is gone.
Right?
I think that's why Quasi is absolutely out ofhere because you need big changes on this team
over the course of this offseason to even thinkabout being a con not even a contender, just
(44:48):
like being watchable next year.
No.
Yeah.
I agree.
I don't think, I don't think we entertain anycalls, for Jefferson.
If we did, then you're basically starting allover again.
Yeah.
You know?
On 2020 on the twenty twenty six, twenty sevenseason.
(45:11):
If you trade jets in the offseason, you'vedeclared to your fan base that we are in full
rebuild mode.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And to answer Brandon's question, I agree withyou.
I think he's safe this year.
Like I said, he's had, you know, so muchsuccess in these previous seasons.
One year, we're gonna be like, it might havebeen a fluke.
(45:34):
Whatever.
We'll give him that chance.
But like I said, next year, shit better be acomplete turnaround.
I think it starts out warm next year.
Right?
Like, it's on medium to start
the year.
It has to.
Yeah.
It has to.
It it's already heating up now because ofstatements he made today.
(45:54):
He actually and I actually appreciate thisbecause you don't see it a lot from KOC, but
you heard him in his press conference.
I don't know if it was today or yesterday, butyou heard him kind of admitting that, yeah.
I didn't put our players in a good spot.
And I don't know if that's kind of the veil ofthe coach of the year, you know, coming off of
(46:16):
his eyes and and him taking a long look in themirror to go, okay.
I need to readjust how I'm coaching and callingplays, or it's going to end with me not having
a job, you know, sometime next year either.
And I think that I think he's a smart enoughindividual to do it.
I think he has enough I think he has enoughmentors in the league.
(46:41):
A guy like West Phillips isn't sticking around.
I know their relationship is strong.
I honestly think KOC I think his system isgood.
I really think it's him as a play caller.
And a lot of people are calling for him to giveup play calling and those things.
I don't think you're gonna see that either.
It means too much to him.
But he needs to take a long hard look in themirror and to make a bunch of adjustments this
(47:02):
year and how he's starting to call games andand address the issues moving forward even if
you know, hey.
We're gonna you know, I there's been a lot ofMac Jones talk, mister Pink coming back in, and
that's getting warmer.
I don't know enough about Mac Jones to make a ajudgment call on that.
Aaron Rodgers' name is obviously getting thrownaround again.
(47:25):
I don't know how much I'm into that.
I think it's, I think it's honestly more canKOC take this offseason?
Because when did JJ come back?
I mean, from that MCL, I'm that was, like, anine, ten month deal.
So it's not like he was out practicing and ableto work out in February, March, and April.
(47:46):
It seemed like he was really just getting backaround the time that they had their, you know,
off season team activities and getting startedinto that, which are really condensed.
You're not getting a ton of time to do things, you know, in that time.
So he probably didn't get any time with hispersonal quarterbacks coach last season and
over the course of the offseason to work onsome things.
(48:08):
I think, you know, I I don't know, man.
I don't know what they do.
Brandon, you got some great quiet we're gonnahave to bring Brandon Herrera on to freaking
cohost this show with us at some point, Cody.
What do you think of that?
Is it a good buddy of yours?
I mean, I do I do podcast or interviews withthem, for the Coast to Coast Sports Network
(48:32):
Entertainment Network.
So Okay.
Brandon, shout out to you, man.
It runs just smooth.
Let's do it.
I've been I've been tapping in and seeing yourguys' content online.
Obviously, I'm producing so much over here thatI can't, but I knew the name looked familiar,
Brandon.
Shout out to Coast to Coast, Sports Network, everything you guys are doing over there.
We'll be sharing more of that stuff over onthis channel, and, we'd love to have you in,
(48:56):
man.
Actually, you know what?
I'm gonna send you a link.
Coach, you go ahead and answer the question.
I'm gonna dip out and see if I can send him alink on Facebook, see if he wants to jump in
with us.
Yeah.
No.
Go ahead.
Do that.
Do that.
But, I mean, do we focus on o line in the nextdraft?
Yeah.
We have to.
(49:16):
We have absolutely no depth.
Absolutely no depth.
Do you see what happens when our starting fivecan't play?
It's just a dumpster fire.
Absolute trash.
The by getting the veteran QB, I mean, eventhough everyone is all, oh, hey.
(49:39):
All we do is rent a quarterback.
All we do is rent a quarterback.
Well, I mean, we might have to go back torenting that quarterback because, you know,
with the play calls right now, the court thequarterbacks are getting no help.
So we're we're gonna have to do something.
(50:00):
I really wish we would've done whatever wecould to keep Sam Darnold.
I know it was the money and everything, but, Imean, damn, one more year of Sam Darnold
getting, chemistry with the receivers andeverything.
I think it could've been nasty.
It's weird to say Sam Darnold, but I think itcould have been nasty.
(50:22):
Yeah.
Alright.
He's gonna come and tap in with his coach.
That's exciting.
Let's go.
About that.
That's exactly why we wanted to start this showwas to give some fans.
And we have so many great, broadcasters andpodcasters and guys like Marcus, you know, Sir
Picasso that, we always have room for specialguests on here.
So really stoked to see Brandon tap in with us.
(50:44):
I'll keep my eyes on the studio for that.
But, yeah, lack of depth, and that comes backto Quasie.
Right?
I mean, that is a 100% on Quasie because thosedrafts are where you restock those.
So you can go out and rent a few guys to getyou over the hump, a Hargraves, and a Jonathan.
Right?
Like, but none of that works if you don't haveother horses in the stable to lighten that load
(51:09):
and to bring more to the table.
And, unfortunately, for for this Vikings team, man, like, it's glaring.
It's glaring the lack of depth across theboard, even the guys that you would expect.
I mean, obviously, we're hearing a lot of, TyFelton and some of these other I mean, Dallas
Turner really didn't get a shot until Grunardand Van Ginkle got hurt this year.
(51:33):
And now look at him.
Like and I don't know if that's coaching too.
I don't know if it's the coaches who are like,I'm not putting them out there or if it's, you
know, Kwazi holding some of these guy.
Like, I don't know where the disconnect is.
And, I can't wait until we get credentials oneday, coach, so we can ask the hard hitting
questions to the people that know.
(51:54):
But, I mean
You'll you'll you'll have the credentials, andI'll be the coach answering the questions for
you.
Let's go.
I know you posted a video.
God.
And I you know what?
It's AI, but it's a dream, right, to be outthere.
And, you know, hey.
This team and this front office and theseowners, they love Minnesota guys.
So you got a shot, coach.
(52:16):
Hey.
I mean, I already got some people pulling forme.
I just gotta keep doing my work.
I'll get dancing.
Hell, man.
They freaking gave the ghost of Adam Thielen.
They gave him a the fourth round pick away forhim and then brought him back.
Here we go.
Big b, Brandon Herrera jumping in with us.
What's up, sir?
Nice to meet you, man.
What's up, guys?
(52:37):
Thanks for the invite.
Cody, how's it on, man?
Thanks for the invite.
Hey.
It's my pleasure.
My pleasure, man.
I love what you're doing out there, and I'dlike to give you a tell people a little bit
about your network and what you guys got goingon.
I know you've had coach on for a coaches showReally?
For over a year now, it seems like.
It's been on for a while.
Yeah.
You know, it's Coast Coast EntertainmentNetwork.
(52:59):
We do a lot of sports shows.
We got a wrestling show that we do.
Wednesdays or Thursday mornings, we have a rankthem show, which me and my buddy, Tim Hendrix,
do where we rank different topics for the day.
We do a football show on Wednesday at nightcalled Primetime Blitz where we do predictions
(53:20):
each week.
But yeah.
And then coach coach coach coach Cody comes outonce in a while, talks some football.
It's always a joy having him.
Good friend of mine.
So, yeah, we definitely enjoyed what we do anddefinitely try to hop on and promote our shows.
So
(53:40):
Yes, sir.
Yes, sir.
Yeah.
That's awesome.
That's awesome, b.
I love what you guys got going on.
You know, I I referenced some some otherYouTube channels, that I watched, you know,
growing up a bears fan.
I started following draft doctor Phil and thekeeping it 100 when it was on another network
and, the bears barroom and started followingthis and really getting into this.
(54:04):
And I've always loved, I mean, talking.
Right?
That's how I became a podcaster to begin with.
And and most of my stuff's always been focusedon music.
Right?
I'm a songwriter.
Mhmm.
Songs that you'll hear throughout the show, those are those are my songs and a way for me
to expose people to my music.
And I just I love sports, man.
And I am not always like, I consume a lot ofsports content, but at the end of the day,
(54:27):
like, I got shit I wanna say too.
And, you know, with StreamYard and some ofthese platforms that we have now is like, why
not?
And on a whim, I kinda asked I was sitting hereand like, man, there's no Vikings pregame show.
Like, everybody at Purple Daily obviously hasall the postgame and daily shows coming out,
but nobody's doing any pregame action.
(54:48):
And, I'm good friends with the Viking WorldOrder.
You know, Marcus was on with us and Shelley andso many of these people.
And I really wanted just to shine a light onthe good that they're doing.
Right?
The the money that they're raising forcharities and to kinda give a fan aspect of
what we're doing and to make the hang like atailgate, right, where we can sit here, we can
(55:09):
talk some shit to each other, we can bring onopposing teams fans as well and just have a
hang.
And that sounds like exactly what you guys gotgoing on over there at coast to coast as well.
Oh, yeah.
We I mean, most of our you know, I'm inMinnesota.
We got a guy down in in Texas.
We got some people, you know, that come on tobaseball that live in New York.
(55:31):
The people that put together the network, theylive out in Port Portland.
My buddy, Tim Hendricks, he's actually over inItaly, so that's why he's out of new shows.
So yeah.
So that's why Coast Coast comes about.
Yeah.
We just wanna voice our opinion and kinda liveour dreams of reporting on sports, talking
about sports, you know, try not to make it somuch bias.
(55:54):
I mean, yeah, we all, you know, kinda have ourhomer takes here and there.
But, again, you know, I'll sit there and talkabout how bad I think the twins are, the
Vikings are, and, you know, get called the bad.
We get paid all the time, but it's justhonesty.
You
know?
Yeah.
So, Brandon, what were your thoughts onSunday's game?
(56:20):
Oh, what were my thoughts on Sunday's game?
Well, I mean, he made rookie mistakes.
I mean, that pick six was a rookie mistake.
He should've just, you know, took the sack.
And it it you know, it's kinda like baseball.
You know, I I hate when the player looks atthat third that third strike right down the
(56:41):
middle on a three two count or whatever.
You know, it's kinda like that.
You you should've took the sack.
You grew up you grew up playing quarterback.
You, you know, you know when to take the sack.
The team just looks all disarrayed.
That offensive line, you know, can't block.
I think that's why that's what a lot of JJ'sproblems is and, you know, he just doesn't know
(57:02):
if he's gonna get the block, so he has to bequick.
You know?
And I always reference John Madden all thetime.
John Madden always says if you win the line ofscrimmage battle, you're gonna win the game.
You know?
So you gotta have a good office line.
You gotta have a good defense line to win thegames.
You know, me and Cody's talked about that, youknow, through, you know, through his, you know,
coaches experience.
(57:23):
And I think that's what the Vikings need tofocus on.
Yeah.
I don't think they need to entertain calls forJefferson, but, again, you know, it's gotta be
in the back of, you know, all of our minds.
What are they gonna do?
What's when's Jefferson gonna finally say, hey.
I want out and, you know, what can we get forhim?
You know?
And I kinda hope they keep them around, but,you know, you know, what are they gonna do this
(57:46):
off season?
I mean, that's, I think, the million dollarquestion right now.
Yes.
Yeah.
And everything has a price.
Yeah.
It's the day that he asked for that trade, man.
You're like, it's gonna be a decade or moreuntil we're good again.
Right?
Like, I don't know.
Like, that would be the most demoralizing thingto happen to this fan base.
(58:06):
Mhmm.
And that's why you I think that's why you gottaget rid of Quasie sooner than later.
You have to have somebody with the and it'shard to go out and get somebody that's never
done it before in that GM spot to plug in forthis draft.
Right?
Like, you gotta you have to be able to hiresomebody that knows this league, that knows
(58:26):
coming in already.
And that's maybe why Quasi keeps his job isbecause you're in such a pivotal time in the
franchise that you can't pivot last minute andexpect someone to rebuild the team on the fly
with no backing.
Like, you almost need to you need to have a GMnow.
Like, fire Quasi tomorrow, find a new GM, andhire someone, you know, before this season's
(58:51):
over so that they can get the legwork inassessing this draft class so that you can make
these picks.
Because I don't think you can wait till BlackMonday and, well, you just say it's not
possible.
Well, Bubba, that that's a good point.
I I keep to bring it up too.
You know, we always talk about how bad thecoaches, how bad the players are, why they
signed it.
You know, nobody talks about, well, what aboutthe staff that goes out and scouts these
(59:16):
players or makes recommendations?
Yeah.
It's not
the GM and it's not the owners to say yes andno.
But, again, you know, they're doing their jobor they're they're saying, hey.
We need to take this guy or we need to signthis guy, and it turns out to be a flop.
I mean, when do we hold them guys accountable?
It's not just coaching.
I mean, these guys are pro athletes.
(59:36):
They should be able to know what goes on.
But, you know, I mean, I think I think Kwesi isprobably probably on a very, very hot seat
right now, especially if this turns out to bewhat you said you know, what we kind of think
is gonna happen is, you know, they're gonna notwin the rest of the year or win maybe one game.
(59:56):
You know, Bubba, I'm with you.
I think they just cut ties now and try to finda replacement, you know, soon.
I thought there was gonna be a statement afterhis statement on feeling that was literally
well, we thank you, Queasy.
We appreciate it.
Adios.
Because that I mean, to me, that's a fireableoffense.
(01:00:18):
Like, everything that happened around that day,I don't give a shit if he's a nice guy.
I don't fucking care, to be perfectly honest.
You traded a fourth round pick for this man tocome in, not do a fucking thing, and then
you're gonna cut him because his his camp iscoming to you and saying, hey.
We wanna go play for a contender, man.
Get out of here.
(01:00:38):
And I think a lot of Minnesota fans are toonice to feel in, and those people even asking,
like, man, that's I'm gonna come back and signa one day contract.
Look, bro.
We we don't want you, man.
Like, I you're gonna turn your back on the teamwhen things are going bad and and you were here
for the good days.
And then you go to the Steelers?
Yeah.
That's what shocked me.
(01:00:59):
You went to the Steelers.
I I would go, like, not the
Bears or Buffalo.
Maybe KC, but, yeah, I think I I think BuffaloBills would have been a better fit for them.
And, yeah, this scares me.
Reunite with
Koc and Kwasey bring Mac Jones to save theirasses, and that's what scares me is you go and
(01:01:24):
rent a who hasn't proved it at all in thisleague.
What did Mac Jones have?
Like, four good games?
You know?
Like
If we do that, I'm switching sides.
That was a tough one because, you know, I I Idon't know.
I mean, yeah, we got the weapons, but still, you bring Mac Jones in here, you still have to
bolster that office line.
(01:01:45):
I mean, I wouldn't trust anybody with thatoffice line, you know, right now.
Some way of sense.
Yeah.
See and talk about that.
Now we didn't do a postmortem on the Green Baygame, coach.
I I would love to know because you went backand watched all the tape, and everybody just
buried JJ after that game.
He doesn't have it.
(01:02:05):
But Micah Parsons destroyed this team.
Oh,
yeah.
Handed.
Single handedly destroyed that offensive line.
Everybody got their jockstrap taken by MicahParsons that day.
So to put it all on the 22 year old kid'sshoulders, I thought was very unwarranted, but
I I feel like and that's not even trying to belike an apologist to JJ.
(01:02:28):
He's been historically bad.
But can you talk about what you saw on thetape, coach, of the inefficacy of the offensive
line?
For this seahawks game?
No.
For the packers game where you actually had allfive.
Right?
You had your starting line right in the game.
(01:02:49):
And
Yeah.
Starting five.
And yeah.
I mean, I mean, that was one of my keys to thegame.
We had to stop, Michael Parsons.
We had to win that battle up front, and we justgot worse.
We got, like they put hands on us and didn'tlet go.
You know?
It it was ridiculous.
(01:03:09):
It is almost embarrassing.
But the but that's what's gonna happen.
I mean, Michael Parsons is just a beast.
You you're not gonna stop him.
You can only just try to contain him.
Limit his disruption.
You know?
So is it coaching then?
Because at the end, they finally started tripleteaming his ass and saying, we're not gonna let
(01:03:32):
this man beat us anymore.
Why wasn't that the game plan from the get go?
And It
should have been.
It should have been.
And you're going into the game.
The man is.
He's been in Dallas for how long?
I watched him destroy the bears last year.
That's great.
Single handedly wrecked that game against thebears line.
(01:03:53):
That was kind of the end of the season, honestly, for the bears because I think it
might have been that following week that theywere in San Francisco, and the team checked
out.
I watched the players check out.
They're just like, oh, we're fucking over this.
You know?
Yeah.
And More that was the problem.
It's just it's just coaching, all the wayaround.
You know?
And it almost makes me wonder, is is theresomething going on with our running back
(01:04:19):
situation?
I mean, we're not running them.
When we do, we're getting, you know, x amountof yards per clip in top 10, whatever in the
league, but we're only running them, so manytimes.
Six times in the first half, you know, butAaron Jones, every time he gets hit, he he's
(01:04:41):
hurt.
Yeah.
You know?
And then at the end of the game, Jordan Masongets hurt.
So it's like, are you are you just hiding thefact that they're hurt and just trying to pass
more?
What's going on?
Yeah.
This Mac Jones comment, man.
Like, yeah, he went sick, but San Francisco isa good team.
(01:05:01):
Francisco.
A good coach.
Like, it's
not like Mac Jones put the team on his back.
And and that and that's the thing is everybodysays that, oh, we need to keep the we should've
brought this guy.
We should've brought this.
Look what they're doing.
But it's not gonna say that they're gonna dothat here in Minnesota.
I mean,
you know,
our office align is garbage.
(01:05:22):
Yes.
We got the best probably the best combo ofreceivers.
The run against pretty decent, but if you can'topen up those holes and block, it ain't gonna
mean nothing.
I mean, I said this back, when we first startedcoast to coast back in, what was it, '18 when
we had Case Keenum.
I said they bring Case back, you draft LamarJackson, and then you have an open competition.
(01:05:45):
I got laughed at.
And it's just like they're like, well, lookwhat kids did outside of Minnesota.
You're right.
He fit Minnesota.
You know?
He doesn't fit anywhere else.
You know?
And and that's one thing I think a lot ofcoaches need to do is fit their game plan to
what their team could do instead of trying tofit the team to their game plan.
I'm not gonna lie.
That pissed me off when we didn't bring himback.
(01:06:07):
That pissed me off.
And
you signed Cousins for a guaranteed contract, which now everybody's getting guaranteed
contracts because of it.
Mhmm.
Oh, man.
Yeah.
This is this is rough.
And I think what a lot of obviously, last yearwas, an amazing year.
14 wins.
(01:06:28):
It takes a lot to do that, but your defense washistoric in takeaways.
And Sam Darnold didn't win 14 games.
And I I don't think I don't know how fans don'tsee that.
When you're getting short fields and quickchanges, right, and, coach, you can kind of
attest to this as a defense and, you know, youroffense goes out there and you're right back on
(01:06:52):
the field, you're not fresh.
Right?
You're not you're not at your best.
And I think the Vikings offense last yearcapitalized on that, and especially KOC knows
how to capitalize on that.
Right?
His offense is built for a tired defensebecause you now can play these long developing.
These pass rushers aren't fresh.
(01:07:12):
And because you just won't commit to a runninggame, you're not gonna wear any of these guys
down with your play calling that I think a lotof people, like, forget.
You just they just see the stats in the wincolumn after the season's over and forget that.
Like but, yeah, the reason that you had allthose touchdowns was because you were getting
(01:07:32):
the ball on the 30.
Right?
You were getting the ball in the red zonebecause your defense took the ball away, what,
39 times last year?
And now we have nine.
Yeah.
No inter did we get an interception this week?
I was listening to the game, so I might havemissed something.
I know the defense played well this week, but, yeah, I know we got
the No.
No.
(01:07:52):
But no interceptions.
Got a bunch of forced bundles.
Seven games now in with no interceptions?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Aaron, yeah, I think the Vikings gettingMcCarthy on the draft was like, yeah.
We're moving from you Jefferson type shit.
Jefferson have too many QBs already, andVikings owners know a rookie QB wouldn't fit.
(01:08:17):
I don't.
I don't know.
I don't know.
And then he kinda continues here.
They know what they're doing.
Vikings can easily go Ohio wide receiver oneand Viking Vikings new you don't pay the man
like you did and extend him if you don'tbelieve that he is a vital part of your team.
I don't I don't believe that.
(01:08:39):
And, unfortunately, you guys I think you guys
hit hit on on the the nail.
Nail, when I first joined and was watchingguys' podcast.
Jefferson's gotta be a part of the off seasonprocess.
He's gotta they gotta sit down with them and belike, hey.
What do you want?
What do you think we need, you know, to keepyou happy, keep you here?
(01:09:00):
I mean, even maybe you bring in Jordan Andersontoo and, you know, TJ Hockison and sit them
down and be like, okay.
You guys are our three weapons.
What
do
you guys need?
What do you guys think we we need to do in thisdraft or in the off season?
I think Hawk's gone.
Maybe you bring in Addison, but with his offthe field issues this year, he comes back.
He's underperformed.
(01:09:21):
I was in a different chat, and I I think I saidAddison was a wide receiver three because
that's probably where he fits in on, like, aRams team.
Right?
He's undersized.
You you gotta kinda gadget him a little bit toget him open.
He's not separating.
Like, to me, that's not wide receiver two.
Right?
That's not a that's not a a second option, opposite of Justin Jefferson who oh, so, like,
(01:09:45):
my Justin Jefferson moment, we were at thecolts, we were at the 33 comeback game a few
years ago, my wife and I.
Yeah.
Don't bring that up on coast to coast becauseTim Hendricks is a colts fan.
So
Dude, that game and I was still like, I wasrooting for the Vikings because I didn't have a
dog in the fight, but Mhmm.
I watched him, like, walk up, and I'm gonna I'mgonna maximize my screen so I can kinda stand
(01:10:08):
up and show you guys this.
But I watched him just hand fake someone.
I can't get to myself on here.
Right?
I'm a minimize Cody, and I'll remove you guysreal quick.
Maybe.
I can get to this.
But, no, he literally just, like, threw hishand out on the goal line and the quarterback,
woo, out of frame.
Right?
And you're like, that's the respect you have tohave for this man.
(01:10:32):
Right?
That's the respect you have to have for thatspeed and separation that you're going on that
first movement, and that guy was off thescreen.
It was like a magic trick.
Like, the guy was gone.
Yep.
Yep.
And you have that.
See, but here's the problem is that Addison hasnot been on.
Right?
Yes.
He's a one on shitty teams.
(01:10:52):
Right?
Yeah.
He's a wide receiver one On bad teams.
And that was kinda someone's reiteration.
It's like, man, yeah, I just don't for me,especially in this day and age, because the
(01:11:17):
talent level of the NFL is so high now and yourcornerbacks are getting bigger, The cornerbacks
I think the average size of cornerbacks, itisn't five ten anymore.
The average size of these cornerbacks, peoplecoaches are going for guys that are six foot
one that can keep up, that can not fall down.
Addison is undersized, and that's a realitywith it.
(01:11:38):
I know people are in love with him, but youcombine that with his he cost you three games
this year.
Right?
He was not available for three games because heput himself above the team.
To me, that's selfish, and that speaks to theplayer that he probably is in training during
the off season.
Right?
A guy talk about a guy.
He doesn't look like a freaking four four orwhatever he ran at the combine anymore to me.
(01:12:02):
Didn't look like he's got that breakaway speedthis year.
He's living off that 40 time from the combineand and and not excelling, not going out like a
jets does and working out in the off season tomaintain that high level.
I don't think guys respect how fast it fades inthis league because there are dogs coming every
(01:12:23):
single year through that draft that it's theirdream to play on that field.
And if it's not their dream to stay there, they're gonna take it from you.
And and, coach, maybe you have more insight tothis than any of us, right, as a coach and
someone who's loved the game.
Can you kinda speak to what it takes seasonover season?
I mean, you're a champion.
You've been there.
You've coached these guys.
(01:12:43):
Like, what does it take to maintain that in theoff season to maintain that level?
You gotta keep working.
You gotta treat I always tell my players, ifyou wanted to pay you like a business, you
gotta treat it like a business.
You gotta go to work, every day, perfectingyour craft.
You know?
And Jefferson does.
(01:13:03):
He does do that.
He does put in the work.
Addison just like you said, I I think he's justyou know, that one year of success kinda got to
his head.
I mean, what was it?
Last year, he got that speeding ticket becauseof the the dog needed to go to the yeah.
Dog.
Happened to that dog?
(01:13:24):
What happened to that dog?
You know?
We never heard nothing.
Like, what are you what are you doing?
You know what I'm saying?
But that's, that's also where he needs somementorship.
He needs, a Jefferson to just be like, hey, man.
Like, instead of going out doing some dumbshit, why don't you why don't we kick it?
You know?
Why don't we just go work out?
Go go train?
(01:13:45):
You know?
But, yeah, you you always have to keep like Isaid earlier, the game's always evolving, so
you have to.
There's nuances, all the time.
You know, I personally, in arena football, youknow, the my d b's, I love my tall d b's just
(01:14:05):
because, you know, the the speed of some ofthem, the length, their jumping ability, it
just gives us that much more of an edge.
Yeah.
I mean, as a fan, I mean, we we saw this happenback when Moss came in.
Everybody started getting the taller dBsbecause especially the division, they wanted to
(01:14:28):
stop Moss.
That was their whole game plan.
You know?
Now when you go up against the Mike did that.
Yeah.
Packers did it.
The Packers did that.
They just kept drafting DBS.
Yep.
Yep.
You know?
And, I mean, honestly, what I would do if I'm aViking or going up against the Vikings, I'm
just putting pressure on the offense, you know, because right now, they're showing that they
(01:14:48):
can't stop anybody.
So, I mean, the defense is scary.
I like the defense.
How do you go from four three to four or 14 tothree to four and eight?
Have you watched the season?
That's how you do it.
I mean Well, and You know, when when you gottwo of the worst games a quarterback can do and
(01:15:11):
they come out and compare it to it, thequarterback would've dropped back and and and
touch on ground the ball 20 times, thequarterback really would've been better.
How is that possible?
I I don't know.
I I think that's a funny step, but
yeah.
That's ridiculous.
It is it is ridiculous.
It is ridiculous.
But, yeah, there there's something I mean,we're not in the locker room.
(01:15:34):
We can only you know?
But, you know, every time they show the win,the team's all hyped up and, you know, they're
getting the game balls and stuff.
And I I just, you know, I just don't know whatthis team is doing.
No.
And it unraveled this season in so many ways.
I mean, I don't think Darisaw was ready to comeback losing not having Addison for those first
(01:15:59):
three games, and then Naylor getting hurtcaused you to make a bad decision on the
Thielen.
I don't know why you let Harrison Phillips go.
Is it just a roster spot when and then thisyear starting out, you can't stop anybody
running the ball, and he was by far your bestrun defender on the line.
Right?
So it's
like I know, like, there have been a lot of baddecisions.
(01:16:20):
And
it's They may beat John Rod Robinson looks likeBarry Sanders.
I mean, he ran all over us.
I know.
I love that.
He's on my fantasy team.
But, yeah,
he he he was a throwback to bear.
Yeah.
They couldn't stop him.
You know, I mean, even week one, I don't knowhow what happened in that fourth quarter or
(01:16:41):
second half.
I mean, we look like a totally different teamthat, you know, it's just like, okay.
We got it.
You know, JJ looks like he can, you know, definitely bring us back if times are needed,
then he goes out and does a disappearing actand, you know, that's what he does.
Now, coach, I I
know we didn't want you know, obviously, wejust started the show a few weeks ago, but are
(01:17:03):
do you go back and watch the game film?
Did you see anything in the I mean, it italmost seemed like and they were talking about
this on Purple Daily too is that you kindaskipped steps.
Right?
And and you kinda caught a little bit oflightning in a bottle maybe with that bears
game, and KOC's like, alright.
The kid's ready for everything.
And
(01:17:23):
100%.
And he wasn't.
Yeah.
No.
I definitely.
But it's weird.
I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but, yeah, we we came back, you know, and then
that fourth quarter magic happened.
We got that win, but it just didn't feel right.
(01:17:44):
It didn't feel like like, yeah, he had a acouple touchdowns, ran one in, whatever, but it
just it just felt like he caught fire for thatsplit second.
Yep.
You know?
But it didn't feel good having that win, to meat least.
I was just kinda still on edge like, I don'tknow if what we got plus, you know, nobody knew
(01:18:09):
the bears were gonna have the season thatthey're having.
Yeah.
You know?
So I'm just going in there thinking that
Half the season.
Yeah.
Facts.
But, also Yeah.
That's the parody of the NFL.
They are playing a last play schedule becausethey were so historically bad last year, and
you can only beat the teams that are in frontof you.
But I think that
kinda sets us up a little bit for next year, right, where we're gonna be coming from that
(01:18:29):
worst position.
We can fix this.
The schedule I mean, you're already starting tosee where we're shaking out because of the way
the schedule is made in the NFL.
You have a pretty good idea of who you'replaying the following season even right now.
Not the order necessarily of where we'replaying them in, but you know the that you're
going to be playing except for, I think, maybefour kinda wild cards in there.
(01:18:51):
Right?
So we're looking at the teams that we're goingto be playing next year and seeing some
favorable matchups at least on paper.
Right?
So if you can right the ship, so to say, overthis offseason, we could be the team next year
that goes worst to first.
It happens.
It happens every season that a team does thisin their division and catches fire.
(01:19:13):
And I've honestly, that's, like, the only thingwe got to look forward to now.
I mean, we're going on full draft coverage.
We we barely even we're not even talking aboutnext week because what's there to talk about?
I hope they lose.
Right?
Like, we kinda hope they see some a little bitof improvement, lose the game, and can KOC run
the ball more than more than 10 times?
Can he run the ball double digit attempts?
(01:19:35):
Well, I and I think that's a key factor is yougotta start running the ball.
Ron sets up the pass, passes up the run.
I mean, it's been set for years.
And, actually, I'd like the two running backswe got if they stay healthy.
I mean, when we saw when the Vikings signedMadison or, Mason, I was just like, alright.
We got a good running back.
Jones gets the bulk of the carries.
(01:19:55):
We need a deep threat run.
We got Mason there.
I thought the gonna be solid this year.
Yeah.
I'm gonna push back on the end of this.
He says KOC wants the kids to struggle untilthey figure it out.
I don't think he wants them to figure it out.
I think he wants to fucking get rid of both ofthem and to have a to have a, a veteran in
(01:20:18):
there that can that he can be you know?
It's funny.
I'm gonna make a political reference, and I'mnot gonna make a habit of doing this.
But when Obama was in office, he talked about, you know, oh, I just wanna be the guy that's,
know, pulling the strings in the background andhave a puppet.
And then we got to live through that.
We all saw how that went.
But I feel like that's what KOC wants to dowith the quarterback.
(01:20:38):
Right?
As he wants a guy that's seen it all, that whenhe spits in the jargon to him, that KOC, he
wants to be the quarterback so fucking bad, manMhmm.
That that's how you get this.
He's playing Madden.
He's smashing, spamming that pass button.
Right?
And it's just I it's hard to watch, man.
These last two weeks
I don't think he wants the the quarterbacks tofail.
(01:21:00):
I I mean, you definitely want them to learnand, you know, I think a good veteran that's
been around for a while.
Yeah.
We could throw out Aaron Rodgers' name.
There's some other ones.
But, honestly, you know, we've talked aboutthis on Coast to Coastal quite a bit.
The Packers have the best quarterback system todate.
You know, you had Bar.
(01:21:22):
Rodgers sat behind him for a few years, thenyou get Roger's out there.
Roger's plays.
You get Love.
Love sat behind him for a few years.
Now he's in that's what that's what a lot ofteam need to look at is, you know, let's get a
veteran.
Let's groom somebody behind.
Yeah.
We took a tenth round or a tenth overall pickto get JJ.
(01:21:43):
You know, was it worth it?
I mean, the year before that we draft or notyear before.
Year before we drafted JJ.
We drafted who was that quarterback that onlyplayed a half a game?
Oh.
Hall?
Darren Hall.
Yeah.
Darren Hall.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I really I had high hopes for him.
Yeah.
And he only played a half game, then we caughthim.
(01:22:05):
It's just like, you know, again, that goes backto the scouting.
You guys see these guys.
You guys play.
I was honestly hoping that the Vikings would'vetook Shadira Sanders in the fifth, sixth round.
It's just like, what do we got to lose if Well,
Well, you know, You
know, I didn't want him early, but it's justlike he fell that far.
It's like, Mike, he's just drafted him, andlet's see what he could do, you know, if
(01:22:25):
needed.
Right.
Yeah.
No.
I, you know, it's it's funny.
You know, everyone's, oh, a KOC is thequarterback whisperer.
Like you said, with quarterbacks that havealready been in the league that can take his,
verbiage and just run with it and not reallyhave to be coached.
(01:22:48):
But now he's finally, you know, getting theother side of it, dealing with a rookie
quarterback, and he's like, oh, shit.
You know?
Kinda just stuck.
And I don't know if he's that type of coach.
I don't know if he's that guy.
He's kinda proven that he's not, coach.
He Right.
(01:23:08):
And you and you have to be.
And he's gonna throw the ball 80% of the time.
I mean, it's he would throw up in his mouth.
If he like, the bears the bears, play, youknow, the play calling against the eagles and
running for 260 yards, he probably threw upwatching that game.
Right?
Like, just I can't believe they're gonna handit off again.
(01:23:29):
I can't believe, like
Right.
But in the and with your comment earlier aboutplaying Madden, you know, we've all played
Madden.
And if you're a diehard Madden fan, you'llplay, you know, you'll get so good.
You're just like, I'm him.
And you'll start a franchise with, one of theabsolute worst teams or a team with a rookie
(01:23:51):
quarterback.
The one of the hardest ones was was Madden osix with the superstar mode, the QB vision.
If you had a rookie quarterback and he wastrash, that was rough.
Okay?
But even when playing Madden, like, that'smanageable.
It's it's not this god awful ugly.
This is ridiculous.
(01:24:11):
This is embarrassing football.
Did he reference in one of his interviews thislast few days that he was thinking about maybe
dumbing down the playbook and making it easier?
Yeah, man.
He had a moment.
Well and he had that oh, shit moment.
The problem is he he needed to have that oh,shit moment four weeks ago.
Maybe after the Atlanta game.
(01:24:32):
Right?
Like, maybe before, like because the wheelswere coming off of this team early.
And I thought that week two Atlanta gameexposed a lot of things and to just be so I
don't know what it is.
Purple colored glasses or your head shouldCarefree.
Up that coach of the year trophy's ass that youcan't figure it out.
(01:24:53):
But, yeah, he he was stubborn, and now theseason's lost.
Right?
And, unfortunately, we don't the measure of theman, as far as KOC goes is the rest of the
season.
Can he change his mind?
Can he bring something different to the tableand make JJ look like something?
And because I don't think that you go and renta quarterback this year and it changes much for
(01:25:17):
next year.
I don't think it does.
I think that, like, best case scenario,
this Who's out there that we could bring in?
I mean Well
I haven't even looked.
I'm not even gonna lie.
No.
It's not good.
And this year's draft classic QBs isn't goodeither.
So and you're gonna not gonna be in a range todraft one anyway.
So, like, the best case scenario for this teamis that you're able to see JJ start to turn a
(01:25:40):
corner in these last few weeks.
You start to see KOC maybe change his playcalling style a little bit here and to open up
his mind to the fact that you're going to haveto change.
Like, you have to be the one to change this, but he's shown nothing to the fact that he
might do that.
This is the first time I've ever heard him, andI didn't watch the press conference, but he's
(01:26:01):
not a humble coach.
He likes to put the blame everywhere else buton himself.
And I and from what I heard
There's been a few times where he's put theblame on him, but, I mean, it could just be
coach talk.
I mean
That's most likely coach talk.
You gotta take accountability, though, at somepoint.
And why not do something different?
(01:26:22):
Why not try it?
You have nothing to lose at this point.
I know a lot of fans are looking for a top 10draft pick or something like that, but it's
just the Minnesota thing to screw that up too.
Watch us get a 15 to 18 number pick.
It's just trash.
Well, the thing is they got they their theirfirst over or their first pick this year has to
(01:26:45):
be the best offensive lineman out there.
I mean, that's that's where I'm going.
You know?
But I think we kinda already commented on thatcomment where we he's proven that he can take a
quarterback that's been in the league and, youknow I mean, look what Mhmm.
Dobbs did the game and a half that he playedcoming in a week.
(01:27:05):
Yeah.
But even even that, look at what happened toDobbs' consecutive games.
Like, eventually, teams figure that out, and hemaybe tries to accelerate.
And maybe that was because it was a dumb downplaybook.
And, honestly, those games that Dobbs won, hewas running all over the place playing street
ball.
Right?
Facts.
John Dobbs
won those games, not necessarily thequarterback whisperer.
(01:27:27):
So I I think there's just been all that earlysuccess, I think, went to his head, that coach
of the year, 14 wins last year, man.
Everything was cooking last year.
And this year, those wheels came off.
Now you still have a good defense.
I think that's the biggest question is thisbeeflows last year.
Right?
Does he finally move on?
Does he get the head coaching gig somewhere?
(01:27:50):
I think as long as you have an open lawsuitagainst this against the league, you probably
odds are he doesn't.
But does B flow stick around, or are youlooking at a new defensive coordinator in this
offseason as well?
In which case, man, where what what do you evendo?
Right?
Like, this offseason could absolutely fractureand shatter any hopes that you had of a
(01:28:13):
championship in the twenty twenties.
I just bring a
days.
I
I think that Bring him on as head coach.
Bring him on as head coach.
Because then you keep him you keep him, youkeep that defense.
You can get a new offensive coach.
You know?
Who is the offensive coordinator for us for theVikings?
(01:28:35):
West Phillips.
Wait.
Yeah.
West Phillips.
Coordinator.
Yeah.
But it's all everything runs through k o c.
Yeah.
Everyone's there as a mentor, I think, toKevin.
And, you know, and, honestly, I don't thinkit's his system.
I think the system is solid.
Honestly, I think it just comes down to hisplay calling.
And and especially, I like the play calling inthat first half against the packers.
(01:28:59):
They were run heavy.
They got them down.
But the man gets inside of the 40 moving on theoffensive side of the field, and it's pass,
pass, pass, shotgun, shotgun, shotgun, and hethinks that he's back there.
Right?
And that's why I say it's like the disconnectbetween, like, what's working on the field and
what's going on inside of his head as a playcaller are so far away from each other.
(01:29:23):
And then you go out with an undrafted rookie QBin Seattle this week, and you pass the ball 40
times and and run the ball.
You ran six attempts?
Six attempts?
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's it's just ridiculous.
And it we we keep on bringing the the coach ofthe year up, and I just find it disturbing that
(01:29:52):
we can go he can go from coach of the year tothis and not have made an adjustment by now of
some sort.
You know, I I feel like he's gotta startshowing any adjustments, small, big, whatever.
Just show us something different to save hisass because, I mean, people are gonna start
(01:30:18):
people are already saying, was that a flukethat coached the year?
Was it only because of the defense?
Who's this?
What's this?
What The alcoholic West Phillips is our offense
And their and the thing is, you know, we're all
than everyone in this fan base and alcoholicsthis season.
Well, the thing is is we just talked aboutPhilip of what's his face?
(01:30:40):
Defense coordinator.
Flores.
Flores being out.
What about the heart of the defense?
The guy that's been here for the longest time.
You know, Harrison Smith, I mean, he's saidthis is his last year.
So, you know, they got a big hole shoot a fillon that side with the player standpoint on
somebody that's respectful and been there thatcould show the leadership like the hitman does.
(01:31:01):
So, I mean, that defense could look totallydifferent next year.
You know?
I wanna speak on that real quick.
Shout out to Harrison Smith for doing it theright way his whole career.
He didn't leave for the money or anything.
Didn't leave because things got tough.
You know?
He was here, before Thielen, and things wereeven tougher.
(01:31:22):
You know?
So I just I hate to say anything bad aboutDylan, but damn, man.
That was a bad look.
That was a bad look.
I don't I don't care.
That was a bad look.
One thing to have conversations behind closeddoors.
(01:31:43):
It's another thing to let those things come tolight.
Right?
Like, they made a conscious decision to putthat all out there.
And Quaysen I don't know if Quaysen's throwingAdam under the bus and their camp or or
whatever it is, but I I think the PR looksawful on on everyone.
And that's why I was saying today that, like,I'm surprised there wasn't a statement from the
(01:32:05):
team directly behind that one from Quasi thatwas Quasi's pink slip.
But that that alludes to the bigger factor, andwe kind of addressed it earlier as,
like Yeah.
Yeah.
If you if you cut bait, you almost have to doit now.
Look at that.
It's a rookie card from thirty years.
No.
That's not the rookie card.
That's just, I wish it was, but, you know, youknow, he's gonna be a big miss next year, I
(01:32:29):
think.
Well, this defense regressed this year already.
Yep.
Byron Murphy, what happened to you?
You know?
Going six picks, Pro Bowl, and you can't evenfind a pick.
Well, pressure last year.
And and, really, it comes down to a lot offactors.
Right?
No third quarterback.
Right?
No Cam Bynum.
(01:32:50):
Yep.
Allows you to not just match up man on man andbe able to rush everybody and to throw six,
seven people at them.
So you had to change defensive schemes.
This defense is completely different this yearfrom what we saw last year.
Last year was all chaos.
This year, it's been more rushing the four downlinemen, maybe a blitzer here and there.
You're counting on Greinhard, Van Ginkle, now aDallas Turner to get home a little bit more,
(01:33:14):
but you don't have the dogs on that defensiveline to put on consistent pressure.
Right?
You're not gonna I don't think anybody's gonnaget double digit sacks on that line.
This I mean, Dallas Turner's your sack leaderat six.
Maybe he gets four more over the course of therest of the season.
He he's turned out.
He's turned his, season around.
He turned it on.
Yeah.
Bust, and he's turned it around last few weeks.
(01:33:35):
So
But that comes to coaching too.
Like, why did he not get that opportunity untilit was injuries to Grunard and Van Ginkle and
and all of these you know?
Yeah.
It just When he when he got drafted, he he helearned it.
He basically learned a new position when he gotdrafted.
So, I mean, that learning curve for it to be,what, a year and a half, It is what it is.
(01:34:02):
The one guy I'm really disappointed in thatturned it around for the worst was, Isaiah
Rogers.
I mean, he starts off the year on fire, youknow, interceptions, that pick six.
And then this last game against Seattle, Imean, the dude's getting trucked out the club.
Literally.
You know, missed tackle and stuff that justtrucked out the club.
(01:34:24):
Well
and to speak on that, Pete, Pace, I think, wasreally good in that gadget role.
You had two guys.
You got Mattelis and Pace that were both kindalike positionless players
last year.
Kind of in that rover, and they were impactfulbecause they were a a too fast linebacker or a
(01:34:44):
oversized safety.
Right?
And you can kinda mix and match them in there.
Mhmm.
The problem with this year, you're trying tomatch up, you know, kinda man on man with these
teams now, and people are playing in a positioninstead of in this just chaotic thing.
And the quarterbacks veteran quarterbacks haveplenty of time.
They're gonna pick you apart, and this defensejust got exposed.
(01:35:06):
And you got exposed by the lack of talentbecause where's your second string?
Who is the second string defenders on thisteam?
Who like, where the is the talent?
And that's that's a front office issue.
Right?
Like, that's a that's an issue.
You got tired old defense out there, and it'snot gonna get any better.
Like, you are you need you're talking aboutdraft and offensive linemen.
(01:35:30):
I don't think I think you're looking runningback maybe.
We had someone throw that up here.
Jeremy Love running back on the draft.
I don't know enough about some of theseplayers.
We're gonna start digging into draft coveragehere soon, obviously, because we have nothing
else to talk about with this team.
But you need a safety.
You need a cornerback or two.
(01:35:51):
You need a lot of pieces, and I think you gotsome good pieces.
The offensive line was just hurt.
It was just hurt, man.
You know, Darisol was never a 100% this year.
Jackson looked good when he was out there, butnow he's been hurt, banged up a couple of times
this year.
Shout out to his mom.
Did you guys see the video of her pulling outthe syrup on the pancake block?
(01:36:13):
Yes.
Yes.
Oh, no.
I missed it.
I missed it.
Oh, yes.
Man.
Oh, b.
I'll have to send you that video.
Okay.
Alright.
They got a video of her in the stands, andshout out to NFL Films who obviously got
cameras on everybody.
But they were at one of the games recently, atUS Bank, and he had had a pancake block, and
(01:36:37):
mom was in the stands going, that's up here.
Get the syrup out.
And she, like, pulled it out of the holster.
Oh, dude.
It's so fucking adorable, man.
I wanna get her on the show so bad.
So bad.
I'm trying to find mama Jackson and bring herin.
But, yeah, man, this this season just been ithasn't been one thing.
And I think that's what a lot of fans wanted todo is just put it all on the young quarterback
(01:37:01):
and McCarthy's trash.
And, I don't know if you were here when sirPicasso was on with us, but he was preaching
patience with the young man.
You know?
22 years old, was supposed to get a red shirtyear last year, got hurt, didn't practice.
And I've said all along, like, he looks like akid who hasn't played football in a year.
You know what I mean?
Like, he looks like somebody coming back froman injury and being thrown into a position
(01:37:25):
that's just, I mean, get
him preseason.
He definitely should have got some issues.
Highest of expectations.
People are talking Super Bowl.
The team is setting those expectations.
Right?
And Well,
I know what media was too.
I mean, you know, local media was
was your year.
Last year was your fucking year, man.
(01:37:46):
You had the opportunity.
You won 14 games.
You got the they got the buy or no.
They ended up playing the wild card round.
Yeah.
Lose it to Dallas.
LA last year.
Right?
Because the game had to get moved.
Isn't that what happened as it was in Atlanta?
I still think our year was
(01:38:06):
Sorry.
Arizona?
Our year was 2012.
All we gotta do is make that kick.
All you gotta do is make the kick, man.
9899, Anderson.
I mean
Oh, yeah.
I remember that one.
Oh, man.
Bea, I appreciate you joining us tonight, man.
You're always welcome on our stream, and I'dlove to come on and talk any sports, man.
(01:38:30):
I'm I mostly root for Chicago teams.
I left the bears last year because I justcouldn't do it.
Of course, I blessed them by not being a fanthis year, and they'll probably win it all.
So fuck me.
Right?
But I will And that and that's the thing iseverybody, you know, you know, give me crap
because I'm Minnesota guy.
It's just like, realistically, I like myMinnesota sports.
(01:38:51):
I want my home team to do good.
But if I can sit down and watch a good game, Icare less who wins.
I'm more just a sports fan.
I think if anything, I'm more of a twins fanthan just a Vikings fan because I grew up
baseball my whole life.
But, yeah, to watch the Vikings, it is justlike, oh, you know, who should I root for next
(01:39:11):
year?
I mean but no.
No.
It's great to be on.
I mean, yeah, definitely.
You guys let me know when you're on.
If I got free time, I'll definitely jump on andtalk sports.
I I definitely love talking sports.
Every Tuesday, eight to ten.
Okay.
I'm normally home by then.
So
Bet.
Alright.
Well, everybody, that's Big B with the Coast toCoast Sports Network.
(01:39:33):
They got a great thing going on.
Check them out on all the social medias, and, make sure you're giving them a follow.
Check out their shows.
Bee, pleasure getting to know you, man.
We'll see you soon.
Yeah.
No problem.
Have a
good one.
Later, man.
Oh, coach.
That was awesome, man.
I really appreciate, you've had some homiesdropping in here on the show, and this was
(01:39:54):
cool, man.
I'm glad we decided to do this.
Absolutely.
You know, short notice, but we make it happen.
Yeah.
Well, when the time is right and the momentspresent themselves, you gotta be able to
capitalize.
And I think that is you know, that's a greatlesson to learn from football.
Right?
Like, you know, and things that we've addressedlast year a lot, but the Vikings last year
(01:40:18):
capitalized on those big moments.
Right?
They they were able to take those short fields, convert them into touchdowns, and to create
takeaways and to do all those things.
And this year, you haven't had an answer.
The offense hasn't had an answer when thingshaven't gone right.
And that's, you know, unfortunately, the headcoach is gonna have to learn some hard lessons
(01:40:40):
and hopefully make some adjustments.
If he doesn't the rest of this year and he justruns out there and we see a repeat of the last
two weeks, man, this fan base is tuning out,and they're calling for his head on a platter
at the end of the season with Queasy too.
Right?
Like, I don't think that's warranted.
I think KOC as a leader of men still hassomething.
(01:41:01):
I think he can control a locker room.
But when people start to doubt you as a playcaller, and maybe you can speak to this a
little bit, does it fracture their trust in youas the leader of the locker room as well?
Absolutely.
You know, that fractures the the trust, justnot having that voice.
You know, you can you can talk all you want, but if it's only being heard surface level,
(01:41:26):
it's just pointless.
So, you you know, play calling just everyeverything that you do as a coach is gonna,
gain trust from your players.
And play calling is a big thing because, thatthat's how you get your results and end up
getting your dubs in the process.
(01:41:47):
But, definitely, you know, there's some playersin that locker room right now that, you know,
are questioning many things, not just the playcalls.
You know, I heard I think Speedy Naylor wasbeing interviewed, and he had mentioned how the
(01:42:11):
play calls, something about the play calls, were getting messed up.
I don't know if it was, just how Max Brosmerwas relaying the play call or, you know, the
fact they sometimes didn't even have enoughtime to get to the line and make an adjustment
or something.
But Which
was an issue with JJ earlier in this
(01:42:33):
Yeah.
Yeah.
So it's I mean It's been a trend.
It's been a trend.
I I don't know.
I would hate to be I feel like they're justthey weren't prepared for the season.
You know, ex expect the or prepare for thebest, expect the worst type of thing.
I I can't butcher that probably, but, you know, thinking everything's all good and then,
(01:43:01):
bringing in Carson Wentz, like, he he couldn'thave brought in anyone better.
Created for Sam Howell.
Like, you you like, there's been so manymistakes.
Like, it's hard to keep track of them all froma from an organizational standpoint that, like,
it's been hard to keep track of all of this.
(01:43:22):
And how do they how do they get it turnedaround?
I mean, we are a few I mean, we're starting tocount down the weeks until the draft at this
point.
Right?
Like, there's a limited amount of time tofigure out who you're going to put in these
places to get that big board together, youknow, your top 100 and picking them.
And I know you've never necessarily had to gothrough that process.
In your years of being a football fan, have youdone mock drafts and kinda follow those college
(01:43:48):
players and put together some stuff like that?
Absolutely.
You know, especially in Madden, you know, download the newest, draft class or whatever.
I'll start scouting them.
You know?
I'm the one saving before the draft and thengoing in and seeing what I can do.
I might not like the results.
(01:44:09):
I'll just back out and redo it.
It is what it is.
I'll admit it.
But, yeah, the the best thing that we got goingon right now is the the amount of draft picks
that we have.
Now the question is, are we gonna turn theminto something?
Are we gonna use some of those later roundpicks to package up and move into the first or
(01:44:29):
move back into the second and try to get morequality players?
It's cool that we have 10 draft picks.
It increases your, you know, your probabilityof landing on one, but, you know, the it's the
quality, you know, the value of those picks.
Yeah.
Having 10 picks and seven of them being in thefifth through seventh round.
(01:44:49):
Exactly.
Exactly.
It's it's that's just useless.
You might as well package those up for nextyear's pick, you know, in a earlier round.
But I just I hope we I hope we do make a couplemoves, use some of those picks, and move up
and, you know, just try to bolster thisoffensive line, help out the defense.
(01:45:15):
Offensive line and defense as a whole need tobe helped.
Everything else is just fine.
Well and, unfortunately, they're not gonna behigh enough to where trading back even becomes
an you know what I mean?
To try
and get an
extra first and a second or something, thatfirst pick is probably gonna be somewhere
between six and ten, I would imagine right now,or six and twelve.
(01:45:36):
I think right now, it's looking like twelfthwill probably be the lowest or you know what I
mean?
The farthest away from the top that we'll bepicking because of the way schedules and
records are sitting right now.
I mean, we got what?
One win maybe, the commanders, who arecompletely depleted and kinda get but they just
took the broncos.
I was just gonna say.
(01:45:56):
Right?
To magic.
I mean, you know, I like you said, we we've atthis point, just finished four and thirteen.
Right?
Like, who cares?
Who cares if you would lose five more games?
Where why
do we give a shit?
And it's healthy.
It's all done.
Everybody's tuning out.
So, coach, we're gonna put you to work.
We're gonna be doing a lot of draft coverage.
(01:46:17):
You're gonna educate me on how to watch playersand how to watch tape.
I hope we get a couple of sessions, to sit downand to do that and
watch some
of this college stuff.
And for me, I I wanna get to know the gamebetter.
I I as a fan, as someone who didn't necessarilyplay the game at a high level, but I've been
able to watch like I said, shout out to draftdoctor Phil and everything that he's done to
(01:46:37):
educate that bears fan base, and that's how Ikinda came into wanting to even do a football
show.
And so, yeah, I'm looking forward to spending alot of time with you, going over things,
sharing that with our people here every Tuesdayfrom eight till.
And then, you know, obviously getting togetherbefore games two hours before kickoff and,
(01:47:00):
really getting our preview time done in that.
So, coach, amazing.
This went so good tonight.
I'm saying.
I'm saying.
I feel the exact same way.
I think it's the start of something special, and let's just keep on riding this wave.
You know what I'm saying?
Let's You guys I almost forgot.
(01:47:23):
You wanted to do a segment, and because we hadthe guests on and everything that we almost
didn't get to it.
But I made this graphic, and I'll be damned ifI'm not gonna get to use it.
So
You teach them the little teaching lesson.
Let's do it.
Alright.
So this is our new segment, the Goother, theEeler, the Yoder.
(01:47:46):
That's the good, the bad, and the ugly fromcoach Cody.
Have to glad you know how to say that.
I had to chat GPT and and have it say it to me,like, four times.
But I figured, right, we we have something.
You know, we all speak a little Norwegian, because we can skull, and I thought it would be
(01:48:09):
a fun way to bring it and bring a little levityto the situation.
I mean, this you can't do anything but laugh.
Right?
It's like, what what was that?
It it was such a I'm not gonna sit here and bemad anymore.
I think as a Vikings fan base, we're prettyapathetic at this point to the whole situation,
(01:48:30):
and let's just kinda get it over with.
So, coach, you wanted to do the good, the bad,and the ugly from last week.
I'm gonna kinda let you tell us what, what yourplan is for this, and, we'll take it from
there.
Yeah.
No.
So, yeah, the good, bad, and the ugly.
Just going over the game and giving you justjust simple points of, you know, my opinion.
(01:48:52):
Starting with the good, I mean, defense came toplay.
You know, you they came to play.
They forced, punts.
They forced field goals.
They put the offense in a position to score.
They just you know, they can't hold on forever.
And finally, what?
In the third quarter, they, gave up atouchdown.
(01:49:15):
So shout out to the defense.
Dallas Turner, you had your the best game ofyour career.
You know, keep it up.
We need that.
You know, we forced Darnold into making somenot so pretty throws, and I knew that was gonna
happen.
You had asked me last week, you know, ifDarnold being with us last year going up
(01:49:36):
against Flores' defense gave him an edge or usan edge, I said us.
And for the most part, I was right.
And our defense, back to them, you know, they're bending and not breaking.
We were getting sacks, which was important.
We were getting that that pressure on them.
Sam Darnold isn't mobile at all, but, just thefact that we were able to get them sacks.
(01:50:00):
And then We
talked about that on the pregame show that, like, B Flow knowing Sam Darnold and knowing
how to get to him, like, that felt like thatwas gonna be an advantage for the defense, and
they proved it.
They they Mhmm.
They kinda showed why you moved on from SamDarnold because you weren't going to win a
championship with him.
I I don't believe that you can win.
Now you can win games.
(01:50:22):
You can have a good season with a great defenseand a strong running game or a a great defense
and a, you know, a a play caller that knows howto kinda play with the lead and to expose
defenses that are playing from behind.
But, I mean, in a tight game, when he's gottamake throws, you just kinda knew that you know
(01:50:44):
who he is.
He's been that guy his whole career.
So, yeah, was nice to see the defense finallyreally show out for a game and to be a return.
Obviously, getting Grenard back was a massivedeal to that too.
Yeah.
You know?
And finally getting the turnover.
First turnover in four games, that's huge.
(01:51:04):
That was definitely huge.
The limiting, Jackson Smith and Nijimba, youknow, he didn't, you know, he didn't really do
much until five minutes, left in the thirdquarter.
So that was huge because he's having aphenomenal year this year.
That was extremely huge.
(01:51:25):
You know, the bad, you know, we couldn't stopthe seahawks for anything.
You know, they were running all over us, like Imentioned, in the pregame.
Kenneth Walker, just running physical.
He was just running angry, mean.
He, like, you know, trucked the heck out of,Isaiah Rogers.
(01:51:46):
He got him pulled out for the game, and I'msurprised he went back in.
You know, penalties, just stupid penalties.
We still had some dumb penalties.
You know, Jackson, Ryan Kelly, being hurt thatjust the dismantled, offensive line that killed
us along with Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason.
(01:52:09):
The those injuries, a huge question mark, leading me to think that, you know, there's
something more to that.
Obviously, the bad, I'll put this as bad, notugly, but the Brosmer pick.
A, I don't even think he should have been beenin that position.
You take the points in the first place.
(01:52:29):
And KOC should have known that.
Shame on him.
For the ugly, bunch of missed tackles again.
Too many, you know, especially when we havethem sec, third and long, and we're missing
tackles.
It's just demoralizing.
They were way more physical than us.
(01:52:50):
They wanted it more than us.
It almost looked like we already gave up, whichis kinda, sickening to see.
Isaiah Rogers, you you know, have you under theugly I've been What the hell happened to you?
I was watching the preseason games, coach, andI was like, oh, we got no cornerbacks.
Like, what are we doing out outside?
(01:53:11):
It it looked bad preseason.
And I know preseason kind of is what it is now.
You're you're only playing three games, but itwas like, oh, we're gonna be exposed.
And the lack of physical play you touched on, Imean, the same thing happened pretty much to to
every game.
Atlanta did that to us.
The packers did that to us.
Brandon Jacobs.
I mean, nobody on this team wants to tackle.
(01:53:33):
Harrison Smith is throwing his 45 year oldshoulder into people.
Fran Ginkle, I I don't know that he even knowshow to tackle.
Like, if he's not knocking I mean, he does andhe gets the splash plays.
Right?
His instincts are so good, you know, jumpingthose routes, you know, on the, you know,
couple of pick sixes last year that he had, knocking balls down like that, getting a little
(01:53:56):
bit of pressure, but I think he's Van Ginkle iscompletely underperformed this year.
You know?
And everybody's getting a year older, and Ithink that we're we're in big trouble big
trouble heading into next year if we can't getsome young talent on this team.
Right.
No.
Yeah.
You know, and just a couple more points.
(01:54:16):
You know, just to reiterate the running onlysix times in the first half, that's, you know,
no excuse for it, and it better not happenagain.
With with that interception, you take thepoints.
That's absolutely horrible.
It led to the pick six.
(01:54:37):
And had you taken the points, you had a greatchance of going into the halftime.
Three three, you know, best case scenario, oryou score you stop them and get another score
and double dip because you were getting theball back at halftime.
And last but not least, just being shut out isis embarrassing beyond belief.
(01:55:00):
You have a kicker that can kick from Yucatan, and at the end of the game, yeah, the game's
out of line, but you still gotta play for prideat that point.
And I'll never I'll never forget I'll neverforget that, and I'll never forgive that.
That was stupid to tell.
Thor Thor Nystrom a few weeks ago, I heard himcall him third leg bill, and I can't get it out
(01:55:24):
of my head.
He could've kicked the field goal from theother side of the Pugen Sound out there and
made it.
From freaking Bremerton, he could've put onein, and you didn't even give him a chance.
You know, it's just I think he k o c just withcertain situations, I think he just gets
flustered and then gets out of his game plan, you know, or sticks in his game plan and won't
(01:55:51):
get out of it.
You know?
It's it's one or the other.
Well and and we talked about that after youknow, we alluded to it on the pregame show this
week because the packers game, I felt like hedid the same thing.
After Miles Price, you know, has the boneheadedplay and you give up that touchdown, you're
only down nine.
Right?
(01:56:12):
Like Right.
But it's two scores, and all of a sudden, youcome out, you're backed up, and you go shotgun,
shotgun, shotgun with a fresh defense.
This defensive line has just sat in the lockerroom for twenty five minutes, gotten rested up,
and you decide that you're not gonna try to runat that just like, where is the game plan?
(01:56:32):
What the fuck is your game plan?
And I think that's what a lot of people nowbecause JJ wasn't the problem, although he was
part of the problem, and Brosemer, you know, the I don't know why people set the
expectations so high on an undrafted kid.
You know, there's a reason that no otherMinnesota gopher has ever started a football
(01:56:54):
game in the NFL.
Makes sense to you Minnesota fans, but, youknow, sometimes trends are there for a reason.
Right?
Like, come on.
And I'm sure he's a great guy.
Right?
Like, that's the thing about everyone on thisMinnesota.
Everybody's a great guy.
They're all great.
Can we get a couple assholes that are willingto shake somebody and then maybe stand up to
the coach?
(01:57:15):
And and maybe it was the line wasn't it alinebacker's coach or somebody that didn't end
up traveling with the team this week?
Did you hear anything about that?
I I didn't.
I didn't.
But, like, that whole, you know, he's a niceguy.
He's a nice guy thing.
I'm so sick of that shit because we're we'retaking that to a whole new level in all of our
(01:57:42):
sports across the board.
I said it once.
I'll say it again.
I'm a big Jimmy Butler fan, and I know a lot ofpeople don't like him because of his
Hey, man.
I love Jimmy
Butler.
Aggressiveness and stuff.
I fucking love Jimmy Butler, man.
He was a dog.
You know?
And and the fact that, you know, he he kindahad that dog in him and, you know, brought
(01:58:05):
that, that it factor, but did it in a certainway.
Everyone's like, I don't like Jimmy.
We gotta get rid of him.
I'd rather take Cat because he talks like thisand stuff like that.
Like, no.
Fuck that.
Let's go.
Let's I'm trying to win, man.
Yeah.
Do we need to
start a basketball show now, coach?
(01:58:25):
I could do it all.
Whatever you wanna do, we'll do it.
I'm all about it.
I know you said you got some connections to theGrand Casino who are now the namesake of that
beautiful arena in Saint Paul.
I love hockey, man, and I don't just like me,man, I'm a sports fan.
I'm just here.
I'm gonna be talking about it anyway.
(01:58:46):
And I spent a lot of time, you know, talkingball with my brothers, and and we're just fans
and bullshitting around.
But, man, if other people are going to enjoythis and take advantage of the chance to to dip
in with us and to leave their comments, like, Iwould love to turn this platform into, you
know, an all all sports platform.
(01:59:06):
And, obviously, we're gonna be talking a lot ofball with you, as your season picks up with the
Wyoming cavalry.
And, let let's end the show on some good there.
Let let's talk about your team and what you'regonna have coming up and maybe some
preparations that you're making in the lastfive minutes I got you here.
Yeah.
(01:59:27):
You know, we got our first tryouts coming uphere December 28.
It's a Sunday, 10AM to 1PM, Toka Soccer Centerin Burnsville.
I'm extremely excited.
I got a bunch of players coming from in state,a few out of state, some from other countries.
So, you know, I'm I'm blessed, to just be ableto have the opportunity to speak to players
(01:59:53):
from all around the world, and, you know, youknow, extremely grateful to have them wanna
come play, for the Wyoming Cavalry and for me.
You know, I mean, we got our season coming uphere in a couple months, preseason game against
(02:00:14):
a semi pro team.
I can't name them right now.
It's gonna be an announcement, but look forthat in the next week or two.
And then we're getting ready for camp.
I'll be going to Wyoming, for a week and just, you know, bunch of football, a lot of
evaluating.
(02:00:34):
I'm already looking at film from, the teamsthat we'll be playing, from last year just
trying to, you know, just get familiar.
It's a new new league, new teams, so I like tosee what I'm working with.
I always gotta stay prepared.
Yeah.
And you do.
And I'm gonna put even more on your plate thisyear as we move in.
(02:00:57):
I wanna give a few last shout outs.
Obviously, we have Marcus Way on today.
This is his wife, Shelly, there on the leftside of the screen, the dark haired one.
Lady Persia is her name in the Vikings worldorder.
That is her friend, Kristen.
Amazing people.
They got a secret Santa going on.
(02:01:18):
I'm gonna throw their link in the chat so youguys will be able to dip into that.
Vikings fans, if you wanna take part in thesecret Santa, they had a lot of success doing
it last year, it and turned out to be a reallycool thing.
And then we also have their women of the Northcalendar.
I know Marcus was on showing us the men of theNorth and everything they got going on.
Both calendars, they're selling, and you canget ahold of Shelly through the Facebook page
(02:01:42):
that I linked in here too.
And, yeah, buy some of these calendars.
All the money goes to charity.
There's some great people doing some awesomethings.
We saw Marcus's paintings on here today.
He earns the Sir Picasso title in every singleway.
Just, incredible individuals.
Obviously, part of the Viking world order.
If you've seen the game and you've seen themdressed up, Marcus is Darth Viking, always
(02:02:07):
taking pictures with the fans.
And it really to me, it's what drew me to thisfan base that they were taking it upon
themselves and spending this money to becomepart of the show for other fans.
Right?
And they don't have to do that.
They don't have to show up and to do all thesethings, but they do to make it even better for
(02:02:29):
all of us that are going to enjoy these games.
So a big shout out to them.
A big shout out to everybody who has tuned inwith us tonight on our inaugural run here with
Vikings uncensored.
We had a great time.
Coach, I can't wait to see you on Sunday, twohours before kickoff.
We're gonna talk some Vikings football.
(02:02:50):
We're probably gonna talk, a lot more about thefuture of this organization being the Scene
Project Sports Network and what we plan tobring, but we'll have coaches keys to the game
and a player to watch for you guys and a littlebit of a tailgate vibe pregame to hang out with
us.
So make sure you're subscribing to the channelon YouTube and find us on all your social
(02:03:14):
medias.
Give us a follow.
Coach, any parting shots before we get out ofhere?
Hey.
Game noon game back to normal time.
Right?
I think so.
Yeah.
Okay.
Thank you.
Well, I mean, hopefully, we can get againstWashington, but I wouldn't hold your breath.
Honestly, they can lose out.
(02:03:37):
I don't think it's gonna break anyone's heartat this point.
Look competitive.
Right?
I think that's all we're asking.
Can we see the run game working?
Can we see KOC make adjustments?
Can we see JJ returning to action, it soundslike, this week be better than he has?
Can he put up a, you know, 60 QB rating?
(02:03:57):
That would be awesome.
Can you do better than you would if you justspiked the ball every time?
Right.
Well, I I wouldn't mind just benching himagain.
Even if he's healthy, just benching him.
I mean, Bryce Young did that.
They benched Bryce Young, last year.
He came back and looked like a completelydifferent quarterback, and now they're probably
gonna make the playoffs this year.
(02:04:17):
I mean, I I saw that hit.
I saw it in real time in that Green Bay game, and I was like, oh, he's not getting up.
Like, they got his bell rung on that play.
I was a little surprised he came back, but, this felt like a soft benching.
Did it not to you?
I mean, it felt like a, yeah, he's goingthrough the protocol.
You know, KOC slipping a freaking, a Benjaminto the dock.
(02:04:40):
Right?
And Right.
Right.
He's not gonna be good to go this week.
Right?
And then and then, you know, comes out today, Ithink, or yes to today, I think it was
announced that he cleared the protocol.
And, I mean, I don't think you can trot MaxBrosmer back out there again.
I think everyone saw enough this week.
(02:05:01):
And and I think it opened their eyes to maybethis isn't all on JJ.
And if even if that the only person that maybeyou did it for was the coach to say, I'm
fucking this up, and I need to take someaccountability to this, then, maybe that's a
step in the right direction because, honestly,he's gonna have to do something to save his job
next year, you know, and a lot of things wealluded to on the show today.
(02:05:26):
There's there's some changes coming to thisteam, and I think the fan base and and the
people inside of the building need to preparethemselves for it.
Oh, yeah.
And it's gonna be drastic.
It's gonna there's gonna be a lot of changeshappening.
It's gonna seem like overnight.
Yeah.
Well, it seems like overnight that the vibesleft the, left Eagan and US Bank Stadium.
(02:05:51):
Right?
Like, from Super Bowl talk preseason to wherewe are now thirteen short weeks later is is
pretty abysmal.
But, you know what?
The Scene Project, Sports Network is gonna behere to pull you through it.
If anything, to bring a little levity and tobring some, to bring some honesty to the
conversation and to be here for you to crywith.
(02:06:14):
And, hopefully, next year, we're celebrating amuch different season.
Coach Cody, thank you so much for your timetoday, everyone tuning in.
A big shout out to sir Picasso, Marcus Waypainting away on all your social media.
Big b from the coast to coast sports networkjoined us tonight too.

(02:06:36):
Sunday for the Vikings pregame show.

Yes, sir.
Let's get it.

(02:09:45):
