In this episode I start off by saying that its shorter than part 1. well it ended up being longer and I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed talking about the subject. This one covers a monster truck remote, a goodyear blimp remote, An encounter with Richard Simmons, the New Coke, and bad news from a pissed off beer distributor about something we said on the air on Q107 in Washington Elliott and Woodside. Enjoy--- This episode...
Why in the hell would we actually do a live morning show remote at a person's home and babysit their kids? Why would we collect live insects on the air and give away a prize for that? And why would we ever be so stupid to do a four hour morning show from the top of the Washington Monument in the fog? I was doing newscasts the afternoon Elvis Died. UPI wire services sent the news as a FLASH which is higher priority than a bulletin, and it was! Listen to Scott Woodside stumble through the beginning of the recording. You'll hear the wrong age given because UPI sent us the news via teletype with the wrong age. Everyone in the world was giving the wrong age because that's what we were fed. Listen to tributes from Capricorn r...
You've never heard this story. Another hidden gem
Never ask someone about something unless you can handle the answer. Tony Tennille wanted to know what I thought about the song Muskrat Love. She had to ask.

Mara Davis is well known throughout media circles in the Atlanta area. With years of experience on radio and TV, Mara brings her wit and observations as we discuss all kinds of stuff. Jeff Foxworthy was a great guest, but the best thing of all is that he would fill in for my partner when he was on vacation. Foxworthy and Woodside. Unfortunately it all went south when he was never paid for his work.--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Months after the Berlin wall came down and was cleaned up, Rock group Pink Floyd decided to do their Another Brick in the Wall concert right in the middle of where the wall used to be. We flew over and covered the entire event. More of a vacation than work! Got in trouble again.
News coming in that the Berlin Wall was coming down in November of 1989. At the time our morning show on Atlanta's Z93 radio was losing listeners. So we launched a hare brained idea to fly to Berlin and do our show live. You won't even believe where the pieces of the Berlin wall that I came back with came from!
We were always trying to think of ways to self promote the morning show since the radio station spent zero dollars on promotion. Anyway here's the behind the scenes info on how and why the song was created. You will have had to live in Atlanta for a long time to really appreciate the lyrics.--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Scott Woodside and Barry Chase working on Z-93. Woodside gets fired for doing what? Listen and you'll find out!
Chase and woodside were offered to revive our show from the mid 70's and return with a three year contract in 1991. The new format? Classic rock and roll. This is a story about money, power, and greed in the radio industry. If we were number one in Atlanta why were we fired? Listen for the answer.--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
