This Deep Dive's subject is the 1980 horror film Friday the 13th. It opens in 1958 at a summer camp where two teenage camp counselors are murdered by a mysterious figure who we later learn is Mrs. Voorhees, the vengeful mother of Jason, a boy who drowned at the camp due to the counselors' negligence. The script then jumps to the present day, when a new group of young counselors arrive at the camp, oblivious to the tragedy that occurred there decades ago. This group is stalked and murdered by Mrs. Voorhees, who is determined to avenge her son's death. The story culminates in a final confrontation between Mrs. Voorhees and Alice, the only surviving counselor, where Mrs. Voorhees is finally killed.
