Elly (00:00):
Introducing the next President of the United States
of America, Kamala Harris.

The Next President of the (00:13):
Thank you everyone.
Thank you everyone.
Thank you.
Let's get to business.
So, let me start by thanking mymost incredible husband Doug.
for being an incredible partnerto me, an incredible father to

(00:37):
Cole and Ella.
And happy anniversary Dougie.
I love you so very much.

Elly (00:46):
We love you.

The Next President of the US (00:47):
To our president Joe Biden.
When I think about the path thatwe have traveled together, Joe,
I am filled with gratitude.
Your record is extraordinary ashistory will show, and your
character is inspiring.

(01:10):
And Doug and I love you and Jilland are forever thankful to you
both.
And to coach Tim Walz., you aregoing to be an incredible vice
president.

(01:46):
And to the delegates andeveryone who has put your faith
in our campaign your support ishumbling.
So, America the path that led mehere in recent weeks was no
doubt unexpected, but I'm nostranger to unlikely journeys.
So, my mother, our mother,Shamala Harris, had one of her
own.
And I miss her every day andespecially right now.

(02:07):
And I know she's looking down,smiling.
So my mother was 19 when shecrossed the world alone,
traveling from India toCalifornia with an unshakable
dream.
to be the scientist who wouldcure breast cancer.

(02:31):
When she finished school, shewas supposed to return home to a
traditional arranged marriage.
But as fate would have it, shemet my father, Donald Harris, a
student from Jamaica.
They love and got married andthat act of self determination

(02:52):
made my sister Maya and me.
Growing up, we moved a lot.
I will always remember that bigMayflower truck, packed with all
our belongings, ready to go toIllinois, to Wisconsin, and

(03:16):
wherever our parents jobs tookus.
My early memories of our parentstogether are very joyful ones.
A home filled with laughter andmusic and music.
Aretha Coltrane and Miles at thepark, my mother would say, stay

(03:37):
close, but my father would say,as he smiled, run, Kamala, run,
don't be afraid.
Don't let anything stop you.
From my earliest years, hetaught me to be fearless, but
the harmony between my parentsdid not last.

(04:00):
When I was in elementary school, they split up, and it was mostly
my mother who raised us.
Before she could finally affordto buy a home, she rented a
small apartment in the East Bay.
In the bay, in the bay, youeither live in the hills or the

(04:22):
flatlands, we lived in theflats, a beautiful, working
class neighborhood.
of firefighters, nurses andconstruction workers who tended
their lawns with pride.
My mother, she worked long hoursand like many working parents,

(04:45):
she leaned on a trusted circleto help raise us.
Mrs.
Shelton, who ran the daycarebelow us and became a second
mother.
Uncle Sherman, Aunt Mary, UncleFreddy, Auntie Chris.
None of them family by blood andall of them family by love who

(05:14):
taught us how to make gumbo, howto play chess and sometimes even
let us win.
Family who loved us, believed inus.
and told us we could be anythingand do anything.

(05:36):
They instilled in us the valuesthey personified, community,
faith and the importance oftreating others as you would
want to be treated withkindness, respect and
compassion.
My mother was a brilliant, Fivefoot tall brown woman with an

(06:01):
accent as the eldest child.
As the eldest child, I saw howthe world would sometimes treat
her.
But my mother never lost hercool.
She was tough, courageous, atrailblazer in the fight for
women's health.

(06:22):
And she taught Maya and me alesson that Michelle mentioned
the other night.
She taught us to never complainabout injustice, but do
something about it.
Do something about it.
That was my mother.
And she taught us, and shealways, she also taught us, She

(06:48):
also taught us, and never doanything half assed.
And that is a direct quote.
A direct quote.
I grew up immersed in the idealsof the civil rights movement.
My parents had met at a civilrights gathering, and they made

(07:08):
sure that we learned about civilrights leaders, including The
lawyers like Thurgood Marshalland Constance Baker Motley.
Those who battled in thecourtroom to make real the
promise of America.
So, at a young age, I decided Iwanted to do that work.

(07:30):
I wanted to be a lawyer.
And when it came time to choosethe type of law I would pursue,
I reflected on a pivotal momentin my life.
You see, when I was in highschool, I started to notice
something about my best friendWanda.
She was sad at school and therewere times she didn't want to go

(07:52):
home.
So one day I asked if everythingwas all right and she confided
in me that she was beingsexually abused by her
stepfather and I immediatelytold her she had to come stay
with us.
And she did.
This is one of the reasons Ibecame a prosecutor.

(08:13):
To protect people like Wanda.
Because I believe everyone has aright to safety, to dignity, and
to justice.
As a prosecutor, when I had acase, I charged it not in the

(08:35):
name of the victim, but in thename of the people for a simple
reason in our system of justice,a harm against any one of us.
Is a harm against all of us.

Elly (08:54):
Wow

The Next President of the USA (08:56):
I would explain this to console
survivors of crime to remindthem.
No one should be made to fightalone.
We are all in this together.
And every day in the courtroom.

(09:18):
I stood proudly before a judge.
And I said five words, KamalaHarris for the people and to be
clear and to be clear, my entirecareer, I've only had one

(09:39):
client, the people and so onbehalf of the people on behalf
of every American, regardless ofparty.
Race, gender, or the languageyour grandmother speaks, on

(10:03):
behalf of my mother, andeveryone who has ever set out on
their own unlikely journey.
On behalf of Americans like thepeople I grew up with, people
who work hard, chase theirdreams and look out for one

(10:24):
another.
On behalf of everyone whosestory could only be written.
In the greatest nation on earth.
I accept your nomination.

Elly (10:41):
Listen to that crowd.
Pandemonium

The Next President of th (11:09):
nation with this election has a
precious fleeting opportunity tomove past the bitterness,
cynicism and divisive battles ofthe past.
A chance to chart a new wayforward, not as members of any

(11:36):
one party or faction, but asAmericans.
And let me say, I know there arepeople of various political
views watching tonight.
And I want you to know, Ipromise to be a president for
all Americans.
You can always trust me, to putcountry above party and to hold

(12:02):
sacred America's fundamentalprinciples from the rule of law.
to free and fair elections tothe peaceful transfer of power

(12:22):
will be a president who unitesus around our highest
aspirations, a president wholeads and listens, who is
realistic, practical, andhonest.
And has common sense and alwaysfights for the American people

(12:47):
from the courthouse to the WhiteHouse.
That has been my life's work asa young courtroom prosecutor in
Oakland, California.
I stood up for women andchildren against predators who
abused them.

(13:07):
As Attorney General ofCalifornia, I took on the big
banks, delivered 20 billiondollars for middle class
families who faced foreclosure, and helped pass a homeowner bill
of rights, one of the first ofits kind in the nation.

(13:29):
I stood up for veterans.
Students being scammed by bigfor profit colleges.
for workers who are beingcheated out of their wages, the
wages they were due.
For seniors facing elder abuse.

(13:49):
I fought against the cartels whotraffic in guns and drugs and
human beings.
To threaten the security of ourborder and the safety of our
community.
And I will tell you, thesefights were not easy.
And neither were the electionsthat put me in those offices.

(14:12):
We were underestimated atpractically every turn.
But we never gave up.
Because the future is alwaysworth fighting for.
The fight we are in right now, afight for America's future.

(14:33):
Fellow Americans.
This election is not only themost important of our lives.
It is one of the most importantin the life of our nation in

(14:59):
many ways.
Yes, Donald Trump is anunserious man, but the
consequences, but theconsequences of putting Donald
Trump back in the White Houseare extremely serious.
Consider, consider not only thechaos and calamity when he was

(15:25):
in office, but also the gravityof what has happened since he
lost the last election.
Donald Trump tried to throw awayyour votes.
When he failed, he sent an armedmob to the United States Capitol
where they assaulted lawenforcement officers.

(15:49):
When politicians in his ownparty begged him to call off the
mob.
And send help.
He did the opposite.
He fanned the flames.
And now, for an entirelydifferent set of crimes, he was

(16:10):
found guilty of fraud by a juryof everyday Americans and
separately, and separately foundliable for committing sexual
abuse.
And consider for yourself.
Consider what he intends to doif we give him power again.

(16:32):
Consider his explicit intent toset free violent extremists who
assaulted those law enforcementofficers at the Capitol.
His explicit intent to jailjournalists, political
opponents, and anyone he sees asthe enemy.

(16:54):
His explicit intent to deployour active duty military against
our own citizens.
Consider, consider the power hewill have, especially after the
United States Supreme Court justruled that he would be immune

(17:17):
from criminal prosecution.
Just imagine Donald Trump withno guardrails and how he would
use the immense powers of thepresidency of the United States,

(17:39):
not to improve your life, not tostrengthen our national
security.
But to serve the only client hehas ever had, himself.

(17:59):
And we know, and we know what asecond Trump term would look
like.
It's all laid out in Project2025, written by his closest
advisors, and its sum total isto pull our country back to the
past, But America, we are notgoing back.
We are not going back.

(18:22):
We are not going back.
Donald Trump had to cut SocialSecurity and Medicare.
We are not going back to when hetried to get rid of the
Affordable Care Act.

(18:42):
When insurance companies coulddeny people with pre existing
conditions.
We are not going to let himeliminate the Department of
Education that funds our publicschools.
We are not going to let him endprograms like Head Start that
provide preschool and childcarefor our children.

(19:04):
America, we are not going backback.
And We are charting a new wayforward.

(19:25):
Forward.
To a future.
With a strong and growing middleclass, because we know a strong
middle class has always beencritical to America's success.
And building that middle classwill be a defining goal of my
presidency.

(19:50):
I'll tell you, this is personalfor me.
The middle class is where I comefrom.
My mother kept a strict budget.
We lived within our means.
Yet we wanted for little and sheexpected us to make the most of
the opportunities that wereavailable to us and to be

(20:11):
grateful for them because as shetaught us, opportunity is not
available to everyone.
That's why we will create what Icall an opportunity economy, an
opportunity economy whereeveryone has the chance to
compete and a chance to succeed.

(20:34):
Whether you live in a ruralarea, small town or big city.
And as president, I will bringtogether labor, and workers, and
small business owners, andentrepreneurs, and American
companies to create jobs, togrow our economy, and to lower

(20:59):
the cost of everyday needs likehealth care, and housing, and
groceries.
We will provide.
Access to capital for smallbusiness owners and
entrepreneurs and founders.
And we will end America'shousing shortage.
And protect social Security andMedicare.

(21:27):
Compare that to Donald Trump.
Because I think everyone hereknows he doesn't actually fight
for the middle class.
He doesn't actually fight forthe middle class.
Instead he fights for himselfand his billionaire friends.
And he will give them anotherround of tax breaks that will
add up to 5 trillion dollars tothe national debt.

(21:53):
He intends to enact what ineffect is a national sales tax,
call it a Trump tax, that wouldraise prices on middle class
families by almost 4, 000 ayear.
Instead of a Trump Tax hike.
We will pass a middle class taxcut that will benefit more than

(22:17):
100 million Americans.
Friends, I believe Americacannot truly be prosperous
unless Americans are fully ableto make their own decisions

(22:39):
about their own lives, especially on matters of heart
and home.
But tonight, in America, toomany women are not able to make
those decisions.
And let's be clear about how wegot here.

(23:00):
Donald Trump handpicked membersof the United States Supreme
Court to take away reproductivefreedom.
And now he Braggs about it.
In his words, quote, I did itand I'm proud to have done it,
end quote.
Well, I'll tell you, over thepast two years, I've traveled

(23:23):
across our country, and womenhave told me their stories.
Husbands and fathers have sharedtheirs.
Stories of women miscarrying ina parking lot, developing
sepsis, losing the ability toever again have children, all

(23:43):
because doctors are afraid theymay go to jail.
For caring for their patients, couples just trying to grow
their family.
Cut off in the middle of IVFtreatments.
Children who have survivedsexual assault, potentially
being forced to carry apregnancy to term, this is

(24:07):
what's happening in our countrybecause of Donald Trump and
understand he is not done.
As a part of his agenda, he andhis allies would limit access to
birth control, ban medicationabortion, and enact a nationwide

(24:28):
abortion ban with or withoutCongress.
And get this, get them to createa national anti abortion
coordinator and force states toreport.
on women's miscarriages andabortions.

(24:51):
Simply put, they are out oftheir minds.
Oh yeah.

Elly (24:56):
Listen to that crowd.
Crowd is going crazy.

The Next President of the U (25:02):
And one must ask, must ask, why
exactly is it that they don'ttrust women?
Well, we trust women.

(25:24):
And when Congress passes a billto restore reproductive freedom
as President of the UnitedStates, I will proudly sign it
into law.

(25:44):
In this election, many otherfundamental freedoms are at
stake.
The freedom to live safe fromgun violence in our schools,
communities, and places ofworship.
The freedom to love who you loveopenly and with pride.
The freedom to breathe clean airand drink clean water and live

(26:09):
free from the pollution thatfuels the climate crisis.
And the freedom that unlocks Allthe others, the freedom to vote.
With this election, we finallyhave the opportunity to pass the

(26:31):
John Lewis Voting Rights Act andthe Freedom to Vote Act.
And let me be clear.
After decades in lawenforcement, I know the
importance of safety andsecurity, especially at our

(26:54):
border.
Last year, Joe and I broughttogether Democrats and
conservative Republicans towrite the strongest border bill
in decades.
The Border Patrol endorsed it.
But Donald Trump believes aborder deal would hurt his
campaign.
So he ordered his allies inCongress to kill the deal.

(27:18):
Well, I refuse to play politicswith our security.
And here is my pledge to you.
As president, I will bring backthe bipartisan border security
bill that he killed, and I willsign it into law.

(27:40):
We can live up to our proudheritage as a nation of
immigrants and reform our brokenimmigration system.
Create an earned pathway tocitizenship and secure our
border.

(28:04):
And America, we must also besteadfast in advancing our
security and values abroad.
As Vice President, I haveconfronted threats to our
security, negotiated withforeign leaders, strengthened
our alliances, and engaged withour brave troops overseas.

(28:28):
As Commander in Chief, I willensure America always has the
strongest, most lethal fightingforce in the world.
And I will fulfill our sacredobligation to care for our
troops and their families.

(28:49):
And I will always honor andnever disparage their service
and their sacrifice.
USA, I will make sure we leadthe world into the future on

(29:16):
space and artificialintelligence that America, not
China, wins the competition forthe 21st century and that we
strengthen, not abdicate, ourglobal leadership.
Trump, on the other hand, threatened to abandon NATO.
He encouraged Putin to invadeour allies, said Russia could,

(29:42):
quote, do whatever the hell theywant.
Five days before Russia attackedUkraine, I met with President
Zelensky to warn him aboutRussia's plan to invade.
I helped mobilize a globalresponse over 50 countries to
defend against Putin'saggression.

(30:02):
As president, I will standstrong with Ukraine and our NATO
allies.
With respect to the war in Gaza,President Biden and I are

(30:26):
working around the clock.
Because now is the time to get ahostage deal and a ceasefire
deal done.
And let me be clear.
I will always Stand up forIsrael's right to defend itself.

(30:50):
And I will always ensure Israelhas the ability to defend
itself.
Because the people of Israelmust never again face the horror
that a terrorist organizationcalled Hamas caused on October
7.
Including unspeakable sexualviolence and the massacre of

(31:16):
young people at a musicfestival.
At the same time, What hashappened in Gaza over the past
10 months is devastating.
So many innocent lives lost.
Desperate, hungry people fleeingfor safety over and over again.

(31:40):
The scale of suffering isheartbreaking.
President Biden and I areworking to end this war.
Such that Israel is secure, thehostages are released.
The suffering in Gaza ends andthe Palestinian people can
realize their right to dignity, security, freedom, and self

(32:15):
determination.
I will never hesitate to takewhatever action is necessary to
defend our forces and ourinterests against Iran and Iran
backed terrorists.
I will not cozy up to tyrants.
And dictators like Kim Jong un,who are rooting for Trump, who
are rooting for Trump.

(32:37):
Because you know, they know, they know he is easy to
manipulate with flattery andfavors.
They know Trump won't holdautocrats accountable because he
wants to be an autocrat himself.
And as president.

(32:59):
I will never waver in defense ofAmerica's security and ideals
because in the enduring strugglebetween democracy and tyranny.
I know where I stand and I knowwhere the United States belongs.
So fellow Americans, fellowAmericans, I love our country

(33:39):
with all my heart.
Everywhere I go, everywhere Igo, in everyone I meet, I see a
nation that is ready to moveforward, ready for the next step
in the incredible journey thatis America.

(34:01):
I see an America where we holdfast.
To the fearless belief thatbuilt our nation and inspired
the world that here in thiscountry, anything is possible,
that nothing is out of reach.

(34:23):
An America where we care for oneanother, look out for one
another and recognize that wehave so much more in common than
what separates us.
None of us, none of us has tofail for all of us to succeed.

(34:48):
In unity, there is strength.
You know, our opponents in thisrace are out there every day
denigrating America, talkingabout how terrible everything
is.
Well, my mother had anotherlesson she used to teach.

(35:13):
Never let anyone tell you whoyou are.
You show them who you

Elly (35:20):
yep

The Next President of (35:24):
America, let us show each other and the
world who we are and what westand for.
Freedom.
Opportunity.
Compassion.
Dignity, fairness and endlesspossibilities.

(35:54):
We are the heirs to the greatestdemocracy in the history of the
world.
And on behalf of our childrenand our grandchildren and all
those who sacrificed so dearlyfor our freedom.

(36:15):
And liberty.
We must be worthy of thismoment.
It is now our turn to do whatgenerations before us have done
guided by optimism and faith tofight for this country.

(36:37):
We love to fight for the idealswe cherish.
And to uphold the awesomeresponsibility that comes with
the greatest privilege on earth.
The privilege and pride of beingan American.

Elly (37:00):
That was awesome.
Outstanding.

The Next President of the US (37:03):
So let's get out there.
Let's fight for it.
Let's get out there.
Let's vote for it.
Together, let us write the nextgreat chapter in the most
