Jessica Sunshine couldn't take it anymore.

New Hampshire's changing policies. The complaints from the parents. The stress.

So, after 10 years of teaching high school English across several New Hampshire high schools, the 32-year-old won't be returning to the classroom this year.

Instead, she's focusing on building her dream of helping students feel seen and heard in a different way: yoga.

An accomplished yoga teacher at Prasada Yoga (North Hampton), Bryony Body (Exeter), Good Vibes Yoga (Ogunquit), and Seavasana (and formerly of Yogasmith and Barre & Soul), she's now a reiki master and a sound healer. She also manages social media for Portsmouth Paddle Co.

From the West End of Portsmouth, Jessica sits down with host Troy Farkas to discuss why she won't be returning to the school this year, and what it's like now working full-time in yoga & healing. Plus, she shares her heartbreaking stories of losing her father suddenly, dealing with chronic pain, and the eating disorders she used to struggle with.
