As soon as I Leg day on my,I'll do leg day, but it's uh.
It's equal to me imagininghaving to swim with a bunch of

Palestine.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
So See you schooling me right now.
Yeah, I don't buy it.
See, I ain't okay.
Listen, I'll be honest.
This is an honest moment.
Probably when they firstdropped the pumpkin chai chai
tilates.
Yeah, I struggled.
I talked about it in theepisode, I struggled saying it.
For some reason I did grab twoof them because I was a fiend.
I thought I was a fiend, but Iain't gonna.
I ain't been there since and Iain't going back until you give

(05:37):
me the okay to go back andeverything that you know they.
They handle business the rightway.
I did not know that.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Yeah, I haven't been there in a long time like.
I used to go like religiouslyevery single day, but you know,
I ended up just buying my owncoffee machine.
I told you about last time, yeah and saving money, you know,
because it was like seven toten dollars every day just on
coffee at Starbucks and thenwith the whole like Palestine

(06:03):
stuff going on to like youbacked away from.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
I understand completely.
You know I like that.
You know what?
What's clapped?
Yeah, I'm gonna give you alittle clappy clap for that.
I don't mind it at all.
Are you, uh, you socially aware?
You like to be in and in theknow, and stand for right wrong
and speak up about those things.
That's really cool.
That's really cool.
Um so I guess I would ask right, thanksgiving just passed,

(06:34):
right, we just?
I mean, that's a couple daysago.
How was your feast?
Did you feast?
Did you did you?
Was you around family?

Speaker 3 (06:43):
um, I had to work you wait, thanks, you had to work.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Yeah, you open on Thanksgiving.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
I wasn't open but I was doing like some lash stuff I
had to get done.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
Yeah, because not only do you have some endless
closet, you do lashes, lashes,lashes.
Wait on, school me what's thelash applies.
I'm a man, school me now.
What's the lash applies?

Speaker 3 (07:05):
so basically we sell lash supplies oh, lash supplies
for like other lash artists, tocome like, purchase and use on
their clients.
So yeah, the Amazon eyelashes, not the no.
We're in the Amazon for betterthan Amazon.
I like that.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
I like that yeah so you had to go work.
We use.
How many eyelashes were youtaking care of that day?

Speaker 3 (07:29):
I had like three clients yeah on Thanksgiving I
started at 10 and I didn't getdone till like five dang you was
really working on.
Yeah, you didn't get a chanceto eat it on, I did I oh, you
did get it, I went over to mymom's right after, and it was.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
I got right to it.
I was starving.
I didn't eat like I was like.
You know, I'm gonna eat lateranyways how many, how many
plates you get on.
It's okay, you can.
You can be honest here how manyplates I had three yes, that's
embarrassing it was notembarrassing, you was eating it
was the day of food.
You can.
A little gluttony don't hurtnobody.
You can't that day.

(08:03):
You know I'm saying so you.
So you telling me you was.
You're dropping the eyelashesall day.
So is that something that youwere doing before you got to
Samantha's closet?

Speaker 3 (08:11):
yeah, I actually started with eyelashes.
That was my first business at19 I opened.
Well, first I started doingthem by myself and then
eventually opened up a shop niceand yeah, that's what that was
like my entrepreneur, likejourney, like the start of that
pretty much really so youstarted out eyelashes you built

(08:34):
up a clientele and Adam assumingyes, because you just so.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Is it when you're doing eyelashes?
Do you got to have like thatsteady surgeon hand?
for sure really, how did you getthat down?
How'd you get the surgeon from?
You know me, I drink too muchcoffee.
I got, I get the shaky hands.
I look like a zombie on crack.
You don't want that to happenfor you don't want me to get
eyelashes, but what you knowdoes that something you had to
go to school for well, you kindof just get used to it after a

(09:00):
while yeah yeah, okay, yeah sureyou're the beauty expert.
I'm coming to you to get myknowledge.
So when it comes to Samantha'scloset right, samantha's closet
you want to tell them where it'slocated at yes, it's at 2829
north 15th Ave 15th Ave.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Midtown.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
I would like to know what inspired you to get your
own store for the boutique forthe boutique.
Yes, let me get that right.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
Inspired the boutique , the boutique, yeah well, I did
like, like I mentioned before,I would like kind of go out
sometimes and I would get girls.
They would stop me and ask melike hey, where'd you get your
outfit?
And it was all the time Right, and at the time I was only
shopping on like these Instagramboutiques or like Fashion Nova

(09:51):
pretty little thing, because wedidn't really have nothing like
that here.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Right.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
But yeah, same thing on Instagram I would post.
Girls would message me and asklike you know where's your fit
from Like can we get the detailsand stuff?

Speaker 2 (10:05):
So you were never a gatekeeper?
No, I don't like to share.
Well, I will gatekeep one thingyou don't want to say what it
is I used to tell people.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
But I'm, I'm, I'm gatekeeping my perfume now.
I'm sorry guys, yes, I'm acologne, go ahead.
I can't like.
I used to give people like thelike I used to tell girls, but I
can't anymore Like whathappened?

Speaker 2 (10:26):
What changed your mind on that?

Speaker 3 (10:28):
I want to smell like my style, but I want to be like.
I have my own stand.
You know I can't like, I'msorry.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Yeah, I understand, I'm a cologne connoisseur.
I I I lie when they ask me.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
I lie, I gotta.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
I gotta go look at the.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
I don't remember the name, I gotta go look at the
bottle.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
I don't know, so I lie, so I'm assuming that's on
my heaven record.
When I get to the gates they'relike man, you lying about
cologne 150 times, bro.
So.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
I understand.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
So you gatekeep the perfume of it all I have to.
You feel like you.
You feel like you could come upwith a Samantha's perfume.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
That's like one of my ideas.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
I want to have my own perfume one day.
Yeah, what would you think itwould smell like?

Speaker 3 (11:09):
Um, like warm vanilla musky type of scent that's like
what I'm into.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Okay, can.
Is it okay to ask uh, let's see, I know we gatekeeping here on
that and I respect that.
Let's see if we can give a aversion of something that you
like right, like the, like aperfume you really rock with,
okay, um, and you could justthrow us off, you could give us
a note like something of anolder version of it and then,
you know, maybe we can get likean idea of it all unless you,

(11:38):
you know you, I have a couplelike I have a lot of favorites.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
Yeah, I won't give out my current favorite.
Sorry, give us one you give Um,I would say it would be like
inspired by Killian.
Um, I actually, yes, princessby Killian, that's pretty.
That's, that's a that's so good, I call some Duggets.
Yeah, that's not regular.
My perfume is not cheap, yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
That's not regular.
That's.
That's Dugget money, that'sthat's real money.
That's not.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
That's not no joke right here so uh, you into the
perfume.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
You, you, you.
You know we talked about, youknow gatekeeping and stuff like
that.
Um, so you really feel like youcould get in and get you a
Samantha's classic perfume going, or something like that.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
Yeah, I definitely want to get into perfume.
It would obviously be like ait's different thing, like its
own thing, different name andeverything, but I love perfume,
so I would definitely want to dothat one day.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
Yeah, I'd choose.
So we are getting back on trackwhen we talk about Samantha's
classic, because I really thinkyou, being an influencer, um,
people love you in the city.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
You're very popular.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
You're very dope, very dope human Um give great
energy.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
Thank you Um.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
I think it's very, very dope that you opened up
your own boutique.
Look at me, see, I'm learning.
So, yeah, continue to talkabout the process of getting to
the point of like, um, I have myown boutique now.
Where did the inspiration comefrom?

Speaker 3 (13:05):
Yeah.
So, like I mentioned, um,basically girls would.
We're always asking me where Igot outfit and stuff like that
and I kind of like I thought tomyself like well, why don't you
just start your own thing?

Speaker 1 (13:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
You know you have your last stuff going on like
just do the clothes, like startlittle, you know little by
little so um.
I think it was in 20, 20,.
What was it?

Speaker 2 (13:34):
20, 20, we had.
Everybody was coming up withideas in 2020.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
20, 20.
I want to say it was 2021.
Yeah 2021 is when I like, officially like, opened a store.
Nice, yeah, nice and then, yeah, like you know, started little
by little.
I feel like this year we'vegrown like the most.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
So you feel like there was more of a lane of
giving women the opportunity totry a lot of that stuff they've
seen online on.
And you know, yeah, so this isnot the first.
So when we talk about we'vetalked about this before this is
not the first time.
Yeah, you know what I'm saying.
We had some angle issues andsome some memory issues.
So we're back again.
Just stay with us and we'll gothrough it again.

(14:17):
So you told me previously thatyou talked about like, not women
not being able to try thosethings on.
And I told you, I seen pictures, memes and videos of women
trying stuff on.
They have the actual ad to theleft of them and then on the
right they would have the how itcame and stuff like that.

(14:37):
I know that's a big issue.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
Is that something that was on on your mind when
you were Definitely, becausethere's been a couple of times
where I've gotten things and itlooks terrible on me.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
But I don't return stuff, I'll just either give it
away or like whatever.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
But you telling me you ordered something at a
restaurant and it's not right.
You're not going to?

Speaker 3 (14:55):
Oh, that's different.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
Oh, okay, okay I got you.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Yeah, that's different, but like because you
can easily just send it back tothe kitchen.
You know what I mean.
But when you send somethingback to fashion Nova, you got to
like do all this extra, so Idon't want to do it.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
Have you ever done it before?
No, no, like that.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
I'll just give it to a friend or just let it sit in
the closet.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
Okay, Do you do when?
When ladies come into your shop, do they kind of let you know
that this is nice to be able totry this on?

Speaker 3 (15:23):
Oh, yeah, all the time.
Like I had a customer come inlast week and she ordered an
outfit for an event.
It came.
She didn't like it, so she cameinto the shop.
Yeah, I was like you know, Iwant to try stuff on.
It had something that I plannedon wearing.
Didn't work out, so now.
I'm here, nice, okay.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
So can I?
Can I speak that?
I think I seen somebody prettycool you took a picture with in
your shop.
Yeah, when you let them knowwho came into the shop to, to,
to, to shop, yeah, ruby.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
Rose came in yesterday.
Yeah, she was opening for.
Sexy Red last night, right, sothat was pretty dope.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
How was she?
Was she cool?
She's amazing, I love her.

Speaker 3 (16:01):
Her energy is awesome .
She's really nice.
We're pretty.
Yeah, that's cool.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
When, when people come, when women come into the
shop, do you kind of help assistwith the shopping?
Yeah, kind of like a personalhelp Kind of like a personal
like is it personal she?
You know shoppers that whatthey call it.
Like did you help with Rubywhen she came in?

Speaker 3 (16:20):
I, I did, I got like some new stuff.
Her stuff was exclusive.
I didn't even put it out yet.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
Really so.

Speaker 3 (16:26):
I got, like some like a shipment of new things and I
put everything aside for her ona rack and I was like girl, it's
our new stuff.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
So, whatever you want to take, you know, go for it,
Go for it and, yeah, a littlehand in this that this, that
that's cool man.
Is that something you would?
You hoped maybe that you getsome more.
Do you get like a lot of peoplethat come in town and come into
the shop, celebrities, influencers that are not here,
do they?
They come in.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
I think this was like if they're an influencer, maybe
I haven't recognized them, Iget it.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
But I think this was probably the first time I've had
someone like that big come in.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
That's cool.
Which?

Speaker 3 (17:10):
is super, super cool, that's really cool the process.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
We're here talking about the process of Samantha's
closet.
So your drive is.
I'm assuming you had this youwhen you got the idea you wanted
to have your boutique.
So now comes the space.
Like you got to find a spacefor it.
How did you find your space forit Was just driving around.
How did you find that?

Speaker 3 (17:31):
Just driving around, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
Stumbled upon it, say boom, that is where I want my
shop to be.
Yeah, okay, so I know you learnabout the lease and all that
stuff.
Did you have help with that ordid you kind of do your own
research?

Speaker 3 (17:48):
Yeah, I get some help with it, yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
I know JT talked to me about, like he, his federal
trademark for his name.
He had it.
He had an issue, he had itstate trademark and then he had
to go and federal.
So he was on, he called it, hecalled it YouTube college.
So he's on YouTube and he'sjust going through.
So you kind of had help on theprocess.
End of it.

(18:11):
Okay.
So when it came to the look, the interior look of your store,
where were some of theinspirations you were pulling
from?
Because I seen video lookedbeautiful inside the energy.
looks like it comes straight outfrom the videos, like it makes
a nice funk shway in there.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
I use the word funk shway.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
It looks like it's really nice in there.
What were some of theinspirations?
Using some of the colors andthe Well, my favorite color is
pink, nice.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
Second favorite color is black.
I love like the modernindustrial look with like a hint
of glam.
So I feel like that's exactlywhat it, is Right, okay.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
So when you see I'm going to ask you something,
because when I see you I get anice.
I know we talked about thislast time yeah, I didn't get a
chance to hear it but when I seeyou you got like a nice Kim K
energy to you.
And I'm not saying you aretrying to be her, but you have a
nice Kim K energy.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
Thank you, that's a compliment.
Yeah, for sure, for sure.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
And does she do a lot of inspiring for you?
Is that somebody you're a fanof?

Speaker 3 (19:14):
For sure, I love Kim.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
What you love about Kim, though you say like I love.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
Kim, I do.
Yeah, no, she's a.
She's a baddie.
She's like the OG baddie.
Yeah, but her work ethic I feellike she is very driven
business, her business ethic andwork ethic is great.
Yeah, um, yeah, she's killingit.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
So if you see so, you telling me that's all you gonna
have.
If Kim K coming to the boutique, you telling me you, just, you
ain't gonna have, you gonna, youain't gonna scream no, like
that.

Speaker 3 (19:50):
I'm not, definitely not screaming, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (19:57):
What you gonna say.
It was the first thing yougonna say See, there, we see,
you're not gonna scream, I'mgonna.
How about this?
If I'm somehow in there, I'm ascream for you.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
Okay, I got it.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
I got a high-pitched voice.
If there's some bees chasing me, I can scream.
Okay you know I'm saying so.
I'm a Kim coming to store.
You hear me scream.
I just did it for you.
Okay, you know, I got you back, thank you.
That's what I'm here for.
I'm here to help.
Yeah, I'm always, I'm alwaysvery, very Impressed mm-hmm with
Kim.
Yeah something new something newall the time all the time and

(20:32):
the way she conducts herbusiness now and in her love for
fashion.
And this is, I call her, thereason why Instagram has, like,
put a, put a squeeze onEngagement right and this is
something I talked about inprevious podcast, because here
Kim case, such a, you know sucha figure, you know such an icon,

(20:55):
right.
So when she posts something, you know if you think about it,
when she posts something, it'ssold out right in.
Seconds in seconds, right, didn't spend no money on ads,
didn't spend no money onmarketing for TV Post and in
it's, in, it's out.
So, when you're a platform likeInstagram and you're trying to

(21:19):
make money, you know you put asqueeze on people right you put
a squeeze on engagement, make ithard for people to get singing.
We want you to spend money onads and I always.
I love the way her aestheticslook.
Everything looks really goodwhen she, when she dropped
something, did you see shedropped for the NBA?

Speaker 3 (21:38):
Yes, that was super dope.
Yeah, really really cool, yeah, see is there a Moment?

Speaker 2 (21:45):
did you?
Do you have men's clothes?
No, is that something that youmight?

Speaker 3 (21:51):
Gabblin Not.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
Devon coming to the spot.
He want to get some stuff orsomething like that.
Listen, has any of any of thewives Basketball girl?

Speaker 3 (22:07):
I can help them out.
Yeah, sure, I got the girls.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
You got a cover.
Yeah okay, I got you BlackFriday.
That was yesterday.
How was that?

Speaker 3 (22:16):
Well, my sale goes until Sunday.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Oh nice.

Speaker 3 (22:19):
Yeah, so I did online .
It actually started early too,so I started Thanksgiving Day.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
Yeah, thanksgiving Day Friday, today and then
tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
What's the sale?

Speaker 3 (22:30):
60% off everything 60 .

Speaker 2 (22:33):
Yes really 60, 60 that's a real, that's a real
black Friday.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
Yeah right, you know, you know a couple other Other
like brands doing sales, and itwas like 30%.

Speaker 2 (22:49):
I heard it.
So my boy, you know him Devionright.
So we're tech guys right.
Techie techs.
We want to get new TVs.
There's a Sony TV out there andwe have been talking about this
TV for about a month and a half, right, and then Black Friday
comes and we look, and all theydid was was they increased the
price?

(23:09):
They do that and then they Do adiscount to put it at the price
that they originally had.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
Heartbroken.
That is crazy.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
We were heartbroken.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
What is it called False advertisement?

Speaker 2 (23:23):
There we go out 1000% .
What was the?
It was a traffic like yesterday.
Well, you're busy.

Speaker 3 (23:28):
Yes, I was actually busy Wednesday too the night
before.
I was surprised because IPosted I was having my sale on
Tuesday.
So I figured well since, likethey know, we're gonna have our
sale, we probably won't get anytraffic in on Wednesday.
Yeah, but I think everyone'strying to get like outfits for
Thanksgiving and stuff it's alittle good yeah so I had

(23:49):
traffic on Wednesday.
It's been pretty like.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
How do you come up with yourselves?
You do.
Who do you strategize?
Is it just you, or you haveanybody that helps you with?

Speaker 3 (23:59):
No, I do it myself.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
Really, you kind of look at Inventory, you look at,
do you look at what other maybeother people are doing as far as
maybe black Friday sales?
You kind of come up withsomething there, black Friday
specific or just sales, andblack Friday specific, and then
you can tell me about sales tohow you do those things.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
No, I feel like for black Friday's kind of just like
everyone's just doing a blackFriday sale, so you know you
kind of have to yeah, you know.
Other sales I feel like youhave to like really it just
depends on, like whether it'skind of slow or like you have to
see what your slow months arelike.
You know, I know like everybusiness has a slow season and I

(24:45):
feel like during that seasonyou have to kind of like
strategize with sales and stuff.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
And how do you um Invertory wise you looking up
your inventory?
Does it have anything to dowith your sales that you're
doing?

Speaker 3 (24:58):
Sometimes, yeah, like if you order like a big
shipment of clothes that are notreally like selling you might
have to like do a littlesomething with the sales, or
like, if you want to refresh theinventory, do a sale.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
Are you one of those people that know, like they have
these gurus, these fashiongurus, that kind of know, or
maybe even direct what the coloris going to be for the season?
Are you one of those gurus, like you know, I think it's
going to be chemo this fallseason.
Or, you know, avocado green.

Speaker 3 (25:33):
Not really.
I don't think it really intolike the colors.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
Okay, so you just kind of more of the styles.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
Yeah, I think I got the styles down.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
Yeah, what celebrity for you has a good style.
We're gonna remove Kim K fromthis.
See how.

Speaker 3 (25:54):
Good style celebrity yeah.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
I'm gonna take sip of water while we're waiting to.

Speaker 3 (25:58):
Yeah, that's kind of hard, because my first pick was
gonna be Kim K course.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
What about, like, we'll use her sister?
What about Kylie, kylie, yeah, kylie's got some good style.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
For sure I like their style because it's really
fashion for it, but it's stillsexy, that's what I like.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
Is that what?
Okay, yeah, you just asked formy.
Okay, fashion forward, but sexy, got you Any?
Let's say I like to be randomhere.
Let's do random user heels orsneaker person heels all day,
every day.

Speaker 3 (26:29):
I can wear heels all the time.
I love sneakers too.
I definitely am trying to getmore into like wearing sneakers
and knowing how to style thembetter, but I can like put it
off it together in like fiveminutes with the view Nice, okay
.

Speaker 2 (26:45):
I am of course.
Are you used to wear?
Are you a Yeezy?

Speaker 3 (26:52):
I love Yeezy.
You love the Yeezy's.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
I know if I can bring up the Yeezy's, but I did get
me a pair of Yeezy's.
We talking fan, I did get me apair of Yeezy's.
You know, I'm not just.
You see, that wall over there, that's all Kurdish right, that's
like fifty-five.

Speaker 3 (27:05):
I saw that you like collect them, right yeah?

Speaker 2 (27:08):
It's like I'm not like close to sixty pair of
Kurdish's right there.
That's cool.

Speaker 3 (27:13):
Club.
You deserve a club for this.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
You know I don't like the.
You know.
You know my Mori crowd can geta little wild, but I did get me
some Yeezy's and they'reactually pretty, they're comfy
right, yeah they got me some.
Yeezy's, are you into that mic?
What's?
They call that Chromatic.
What's the word?

Speaker 1 (27:33):
Monochromatic.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
Is that what it is?
Do you ever put that thatmonochromatic?
Is that something they still do?
I don't.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
Is that like with the different?
Like the same color, butdifferent like shades?
I think so.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
yeah, see you the one , you the magic magician.
I like those looks.
Yeah, okay, all right.
So are you.
The social media help you out alot with a lot of trends, For
sure.
Yeah, what's your, what's yourfavorite platform you like to
get on?

Speaker 3 (27:57):
Instagram.
Instagram Instagram, I feellike it has a little bit of
everything it does, it does.
Pictures, video, kind of likethe TikTok videos.
And then they have like thethreads now, I guess.
Like kind of like the Twitterthing.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
I'm not on there, but you ever use threads a little
bit, Just a little bit no.
Not your, you know, are you noton X Twitter?
Jesus Christ, not on Twittereither.
I don't like the Twitter either.
I understand I get to hidebehind my tweets.

Speaker 3 (28:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
I get to become like a Boston, an angry Boston person
behind my tweets Sports, anything related to gaming.
If I'm having issues with my Xbox connection, you'll never
know.
It's me, but I hide behind mytweets.
I talk mass amounts of shit.
Don't judge me, but yourprocess to basically getting

(28:46):
your store open I know there'slike permanence and stuff you
got to go through the city andit's a lot of small hoops and
stuff like that.
Were any of those processesfrustrating?
I asked because I know a lot ofpeople, would you know?
would want to know, want to know, they potentially want to get
his store.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
I think I think it depends on what you're trying to
open up.
Yeah, I feel like, for me atleast, it wasn't hard.
I didn't have to get permits oranything.
Really, I just needed to get myAZ, like business license, x ID
number, just like stuff likethat.

Speaker 2 (29:20):
When it comes to shopping and inventory, you have
multiple suppliers or you gotone person that you didn't found
.
That that's where I go to getmy inventory from.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
Multiple.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
Multiple, and you just kind of shop around and
kind of see the best price andstuff like that.
So pretty much you're my momwhen it comes to shopping.
She won't.
She believes that, okay, thatprice is there, I'm going to be
able to find a better price overhere Is that how you work.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
I don't really look too much at the prices.
I look more like at the styles.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
The styles and everything is pretty much
wholesale, I'm assuming.

Speaker 3 (30:01):
Wholesale yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
Wholesale buying in bulk.
Yes, okay, I got you.
What is the price range of someof your stuff in there, some of
your boutique clothing?

Speaker 3 (30:10):
I feel like, on average, our pieces go for like
$45.
Yeah, okay, that's like anaverage.
An average.

Speaker 2 (30:18):
Do you have some pieces that you know you got to
have a little bit of?
You know you got to have alittle bit of that?

Speaker 3 (30:24):
If the quality is better than yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:25):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (30:26):
But I've heard my stuff is more on like the what's
the word?
I don't want to say cheaper,because that's not a good word.
But, like what's the word?
I'm going to think of Cheaper?
I guess like oh, what is that?

(30:48):
That was an intro.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
So it's an intro from 90s.

Speaker 3 (30:54):
Oh, my God.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
I think you told me what time your brother's into
all that.
So if he hears that he'llprobably know what that is.
He'll know exactly what cartoonthat is from.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
I didn't ask him Like what is this?
Oh, reasonable, that's the wordLike yes, gotcha.
Yeah, like more on the likereasonable, yeah, yeah, yeah,
that makes sense.

Speaker 2 (31:20):
Yeah, jt talked about that and making sure that, like
the price was affordable.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
Affordable.
Yeah, there you go and rock.
Yeah, I get it, I get it.
I've heard like yeah, do youwear a lot of your own All the
time Is that what you're rockingright now.
These are from my boutique.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
You can get the shirt and the jeans and all that
stuff.

Speaker 3 (31:40):
The shirts from Zara.
Yeah, the heels are from Zara, the pants are from my boutique.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
Okay, so we're going to, definitely if you have like
a photo or video.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
We'll put all that stuff up.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
Cause I'm cool like that You're cool like that, I'm
cool, like that.
I asked you this randomquestion, which was if you were
a target fan right, yes.
Okay, cool, perfect Cause I'm atarget fan, I'll be going after
this.

Speaker 3 (32:09):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
You're going in target.
I asked you this before goingto the target.
You got three celebrities youcan go with, but I'm going to
add a twist, because so youcould go in shopping in the
target with three celebrities, dead or alive.
Who are you going with?

Speaker 3 (32:22):
What's the twist?

Speaker 2 (32:23):
You'll find it just a second.

Speaker 3 (32:26):
And they have to be celebrities.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
Dead or alive?
Yeah, celebrities, dead oralive.
You know what Cause you askedthat?
Do you have somebody in mind?
One person that's not acelebrity and in two that are?
Since you asked that, I feellike you got somebody you want
to bring into the group rightthere.

Speaker 3 (32:44):
Well, I was going to say my mom.
Okay, so your mom, I always goto target with her anyways, you
got your mom's coming.
Yeah, no.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
Well, we, we, it's fine we could bring Kim K.
We know we, we know we got KimK coming.
So you think your mom and Kim Kwould would vibe.

Speaker 3 (33:03):
Yeah, they'd be cool.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
Yeah, and so we just going to come up with a third
person.
Who do you listen to in music?

Speaker 3 (33:12):
Like my favorite artists.
Yeah, kanye, that's kind ofmessy.
Can you tell me what you'retargeting?

Speaker 2 (33:19):
You didn't say it.
Could your mom?
Could your mom create a niceenvironment where everybody can
go in?

Speaker 3 (33:26):
Yeah, that would be good.
It would be a good environment.
Ok, got you.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
The twist is right.
The twist is you got toconvince one of them to pay for
all the stuff that you areputting in the basket.
So who would you try toconvince to pay for all your
stuff?
Don't cheat, Don't cheat.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
What do you mean?

Speaker 2 (33:46):
Don't use your mom.
You know what I'm sayingBecause we know moms is going to
take care of you.
Who would you between Ye andKim, would you?

Speaker 3 (33:55):
ask to.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
I feel like they would both pay for it.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
You think they would, I think they would, yeah, for
sure.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
OK, you're very I like you.
You got good spirit.
You said you know what they'regoing to both pay for this.

Speaker 3 (34:05):
They're going to split it.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
They're going to take care of it.
Ok, I got you Some of theinfluencers that I see rocking
your stuff and I see a lot ofvideos of you, basically you
know, touching some things uphere, moving some things around
here, Lift up some mile.
You have a lot of influencersthat you work with.
How do you set those, set thoseconnections up to come in and

(34:29):
and get your content for yourstore?

Speaker 3 (34:31):
Like the models.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
Yeah, the models, yeah.

Speaker 3 (34:33):
Honestly, if I see like a really pretty girl on
Instagram, I think she would, like you know, do good modeling
my stuff.

Speaker 2 (34:41):
I just asked, yeah when you sit out of a press pack
like what do you usually put inthere?
How many?

Speaker 3 (34:48):
It depends like, on how big about influencer?
They are Like, if they'repretty big, I usually let them
pick stuff.

Speaker 1 (34:56):
OK.

Speaker 3 (34:58):
But if I work with, like you know, somebody smaller,
I'll send out like our newstuff or you know, some stuff
that we already have in the tea.

Speaker 2 (35:05):
So it's really not about numbers for you.
It's more about you know ifthey will look good in the For
PR or models for models yeahit's more about how they look.
Yeah for sure.

Speaker 3 (35:16):
Yeah, Is there models that like started out with.
You know like average amount offollowers and like blew up, you
know, so cool you still workwith them right now.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
That's really cool.
How do you, how do you go aboutcoordinating, coordinating the
fits, coordinating?
I'm assuming you do your ownset ups as far as, like, you
pick your photographer.
Who does your photographer work, your video work?

Speaker 3 (35:44):
Creative Studios.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
Creative Studios.

Speaker 3 (35:46):
Yes, ok, and I remember that is your brother,
my brother, that's your brother,he's amazing.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
That's dope.
So you get to work withfamilies.
You go, does he help you outwith turn left right?
You know lighting, or do you?

Speaker 3 (35:59):
He does all of it, like the lighting angles, video
pictures, yeah.

Speaker 2 (36:05):
I was watching the episode of the Kardashians and
Kim was.
She was the Doche and Gabbanaoh yeah, did you watch that?
So you see how she was.
She seemed like she needed herhome girl, like I think that's
her, her stylist maybe.
Yeah, but she did hands on yeah.
I don't like this or like that.
Is that something that you fireout right there, like let's

(36:28):
move that, let's take that offand let's put that on?

Speaker 3 (36:31):
Yeah, I do all like this.
All of that, yeah, ok, for sure.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
Just I'm a nosy person.
I want to know as much aspossible.
So you look up Cyber Monday iscoming.

Speaker 3 (36:47):
You ready.

Speaker 2 (36:48):
Are you ready for Cyber?

Speaker 3 (36:49):
Monday yes, I am.

Speaker 2 (36:50):
Do you deliver all your own?
You like, get all the packagestogether, or do you have like
your mom?

Speaker 3 (36:55):
help you out.
I do it myself.
Sometimes I'll have my mom helpme if, like, I need it.
It's like a lot.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (37:01):
But for the most part I do it myself, but I might
need help this weekend.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
Yeah, did you say, you said, the store is grown.

Speaker 3 (37:08):
It is.

Speaker 2 (37:10):
Each year.
Is that messing with you?

Speaker 3 (37:12):
No, it's fine.

Speaker 2 (37:12):
OK, each year you've kind of seen this progression up
.
What does that feel like to seeyour store continue to go and
go and climb?

Speaker 3 (37:21):
It feels amazing just because I put so much of my
time and effort into it.
So to see, like, the progressyou know, to actually see the
progress.

Speaker 2 (37:32):
How do you reward yourself for the progress?

Speaker 3 (37:36):
All of the stuff that comes with it is rewarding to
me.
You know what I mean.
That's all I need is to see, like, what I'm getting from my
hard work.
Yeah, so.

Speaker 2 (37:46):
Any future, you know, expansions of Samantha's closet
, or you have something elseyou're looking to do and get
into.

Speaker 3 (37:54):
I don't know.
I've thought about maybe likeopening another location on the
West side.
I've gotten a couple ofrequests requests for that.
That's major, or I'm thinkingof doing like something in the
mall.

Speaker 2 (38:12):
Really.

Speaker 3 (38:13):
Which I think would be really cool.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
You can't be really cool, for sure.

Speaker 3 (38:17):
I mean we have like the nice stores in the mall, but
we don't really have likeSamantha's closet.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
Right, right, right.
I like that.

Speaker 3 (38:26):
Yeah, and for like other, like ventures, I'm like
starting to design my own stuff.

Speaker 2 (38:37):
Oh, really, yeah, so I have a really like.

Speaker 3 (38:40):
It's a process.
You know, not a perfectionist,so there's stuff that I like
sketched out, and you know, andyou sketch too.

Speaker 2 (38:47):
You trying to hide that from us.
You be sketching too.

Speaker 3 (38:50):
Yeah, I mean just on the iPad, you know.

Speaker 2 (38:53):
That's something you be sketching out.
That looks very difficult.
I try to move my finger on myphone to do just to just to cut
something out on the Instagramstory and it looks like I was
inside of like an earthquake.

Speaker 3 (39:04):
Oh, my gosh and the grid of lines and stuff like
that.

Speaker 2 (39:06):
So that's a real talent, don't?

Speaker 3 (39:08):
Well, I use a stylist , so that's a little stylist.

Speaker 2 (39:12):
I don't have a stylist.
I got you, but you said youwere starting to design your own
stuff.
Is that something?
You had to have your name onthe back and it's your, your
ideas, your style.

Speaker 3 (39:24):
I'm so thinking of like a name, because it would be
separate from Samantha's closet, yeah.
So I'm trying to like get allthat together, but so far I've
had a couple.
I have a couple things sketchedout.
I have a manufacturer ready.
So really.
I'm getting ready to buy somesamples and hopefully everything
works out good.

Speaker 2 (39:44):
You looking for 2024, maybe 2025.
2024 for sure.

Speaker 3 (39:49):
At least like a good three.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (39:52):
Designs, that's dope.

Speaker 2 (39:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (39:54):
So I'm like so excited for that.

Speaker 2 (39:56):
Any any other lines that they're kind of inspire you
.
Like you know I, like you knowD&G what they do, or I'm not
this and I'm not a big fashionguy, so you got to bear with me
when I try to drop some nameshere.
D&g, I know, skims is is there?

Speaker 3 (40:21):
I love their aesthetic.
Like the creative director isamazing.

Speaker 2 (40:28):
Wait, who's the creative director?
I have no clue.

Speaker 3 (40:30):
I follow her on Instagram.
I don't know her name.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
OK.

Speaker 3 (40:33):
From the top of my head, but like, maybe killing,
I'm gonna find out.
Yeah, they kill the campaigns.
Like really yeah.

Speaker 2 (40:39):
You follow a lot of their marketing.

Speaker 3 (40:41):
Yeah, the marketing is so I love.

Speaker 2 (40:42):
Listen, I'm always about watching people like that.
I'm fascinated with sexy red.

Speaker 3 (40:48):
Really.

Speaker 2 (40:50):
Listen, not in the, the department probably think,
but the way you take youropportunity and this is your
lane Right, you understand whatlane you're in, you can
capitalize it on.
You could kill in it.
That's right and that's exactlywhat we don't stray, we don't

(41:12):
try to.
You know, market it.
You know we don't try to market.
You know blue paint.
This is where we're at.
And this is what we're going tohammer home, so I love.

Speaker 3 (41:22):
I love her.

Speaker 2 (41:23):
I appreciate how they just was like this is what
we're going to do, this is wherewe're going to stay and this is
how we're going to kill it.
And she was in the club lastnight and motherfuckers enjoyed
themselves.

Speaker 3 (41:35):
That's why I'm sure?

Speaker 2 (41:36):
So yeah, do you follow a lot of the, the
marketing that that scams does?

Speaker 3 (41:41):
Yeah, I love everything they put out.
I love everything.

Speaker 2 (41:45):
