Dvouměsíčník Sedmá generace vychází od roku 1991 s cílem reflektovat sociální a ekologické aspekty vývoje soudobé civilizace a zasazovat je do širších souvislostí, ať už politických, ekonomických či obecně kulturních. Název časopisu, který do roku 1997 vycházel jako Poslední generace, je symbolický. Inspirováni Velkým zákonem Irokézů jsme přesvědčeni o tom, že chceme-li jako lidstvo žít na této planetě ve spokojenosti a míru, musí naše jednání zohledňovat také potřeby našich potomků. A to i těch, kteří přijdou sedm generací po nás.
