C. Bond (00:30):
You're listening to See Beyond Where You Are with C.
I have Had a trying past twoweeks.
When I tell you that life hasbeen coming at me fast and hard.
It has been coming at me fastand hard, it has been

(00:51):
overwhelming at times.
It has been hectic, and it hasbeen just fast.
But I had this epiphanyyesterday, this light bulb
moment, if you will, that justabsolutely changed everything
for me.
Now I could have said I had arevelation, but it's not a

(01:14):
revelation, if you already knowthis right.
So, I'm not calling what I hada revelation, but I am calling
it an epiphany.
I am calling it a refocusingand a type of Awakening,
reawakening, if you will, and ithas helped me process what I'm

(01:38):
going through, deal with it sothat I can have a better outcome
.
So that's what I want to talkabout.
I want to talk about how weprocess things or go through the
process, how we deal with it,so that we can have better
outcomes.
So let's talk about it.
Usually I pray before I do myBible study.

(02:00):
That's been what I do for years, but yesterday I Changed it.
I did my Bible study first andthen I prayed, and when I tell
you.
It helped me so much It did.
It even changed the way that Iprayed that particular day,
because I was going to pray andask for help, but instead,

(02:24):
because of the light bulb momentthat I had, because of the
refocusing that I had, I changedmy prayers completely.
What I read yesterday helped meso much.
It's it helped me so much thatI want to share it with you.
It helped me refocus my vision.

(02:45):
I'm always talking about seebeyond where you are, and I'm
not encouraging you to do it andI not do it.
I want us all to be able to SeeBeyond Where we are.
Our Vision is vitally important.
I Feel like it's the differencebetween survival or being

(03:06):
conquered and, as the word ofGod says, we are more than
conquerors.
So we have to have sharpvisions.
We have to have a sharp, crispy, clear vision.
But sometimes life Happens sofast that it causes us to lose

(03:28):
focus of what's really importantAnd we begin to focus on the
things that we're dealing withat the moment, especially when
it's something difficult orImportant on emergency.
We shift our visions reallyquickly and we don't realize
that in shifting our vision, sometimes we shift our vision

(03:52):
and we lose sight of what'sreally important.
So yesterday was important forme because it made me refocus so
that I didn't completely losesight of what was important.
So I began yesterday by studyingthe Word of God.
So I was reading Psalms 9 and Ibegan to just dig and do some

(04:18):
research.
And the more research I did,the more cross references I
began to do and I am just I'mall in at this point.
They finally led me toRevelation 19 and in Revelation
19, starting with the 11th verse, it begins to talk about the
names of God, of Jesus Christ, and the name that it gave in the

(04:42):
beginning was faithful and true, and I thought about that.
I'm like faithful and true andI started thinking about the
situations that I'm in and thethings that are going on and I
thought about how faithful Godhad been to me.
I thought about how faithfulGod has been to my family.
I thought about how faithfulGod has been even to this

(05:04):
situation, and I hadn't beenthinking about that.
I was so concerned with whatwas going on.
I wasn't thinking about whatGod had been doing for me.
Yes, I was thankful and I'mpraying, but I wasn't focused on
how faithful he has been to mein these situations and other

(05:25):
part of his name was true.
They said he was calledfaithful and true.
And I thought about that, and Iremembered reading earlier this
week earlier last week actuallyPsalms 30, where it talks about
God's word is pure.
So, when I think about the purepart it talks about, his word

(05:46):
has been tried, it's been tested, it's true, he's faithful and
he's true.
If the word of God says he cando it, it's the truth.
He can do it.
If the word of God says we'remore than conquerors, it's true.
We are more than conquerors.

(06:07):
Faithful and true is his name.
So, I started applying that towhat I'm dealing with.
Then, the next thing that cameto us, he's called the word of
God.
That one, right there.
It even hit home even harderbecause, as I said, this is not

(06:29):
a revelation, this is anepiphany.
This is my light book coming onand shining bright, because I
already knew this.
In studying the word of God, instudying the Bible, I'm actually
studying learning about God,his ways, his characteristics,

(06:50):
what he desires, what pleaseshim, what does not please him.
I'm learning about him so thatI can become more like him, and
I'm learning how to apply theword of God to every situation
in my life.
Was I doing that before?

(07:10):
Sort of, but not completely?
Was I praying before?
Absolutely?
But I was not being strategicwith my prayers.
I know that now and I know thatbecause I was looking at my
problems.
I was looking at my issues, Iwas looking at what was going on

(07:31):
and they were on the same levelas God.
But God is so much bigger thanthat and that's the epiphany,
that's the light book moment.
I'm going through this, dealingwith these things, knowing in
my mind that God can do anything, but behaving as if the issue

(07:57):
and God are on the same level.
I couldn't be strategic in myprayers because my focus was off
.
I had to refocus.
How could I see beyond where Iam if my focus is not aligned
right?
Then I came to the final nameKing of Kings and Lord of Lords.

(08:21):
In the Christian community weknow that by heart.
We do.
We say it often Lord, you'rethe King of Kings and the Lord
of Lords.
But saying it, believing it andliving it are three different
things.
That's important to me.

(08:42):
That's important to me even formy situation, even for the
things that I'm dealing with, even for life, even when life is
good, not that it's bad now,but even through the times when
just everything's so great, he'sthe King of Kings and Lord of

(09:03):
Lords, realizing that havingthat epiphany, having that
moment when that light bulb wentoff, was our opening.
It made me, it forced me, itcaused me to rethink some things
.
After I shifted my focus back towhat was important, now I can

(09:26):
tell you I can truly see beyondwhere I was, and I want you to
be able to see beyond where youare as well.
That's why I'm sharing this.
That was my process to be ableto think about it, to look at it
and determine what needed to bedone.

(09:47):
That's part of the process.
So you can look at it, thinkabout it and determine what
needs to be done.
Then we can deal with it.
How do I deal with it?
I deal with it by applying whatI thought about, what I gave
yesterday, putting everything inits perspective place and

(10:13):
realizing that what I possess inme is enough to get me through
any situation.
Now I can be strategic in myprayers.
Now I can slow down, figure outwhat it is that needs to be

(10:33):
figured out, plan accordinglyand work my plan.
And if you're going throughsomething and your plan is only
a two step plan.
Pray and study the word.
You're halfway there.
Just apply what you've learned.
I encourage you to do that.

(10:54):
That goes for me as well.
It gives us the strength toendure, but it also gives us the
strength to deal with it.
Now we have a clear mind.
It's not cloudy.
Use the peace that you gainedto deal with whatever is coming

(11:18):
your way.
If we take the heart, what wehave gained, apply it faithfully
, consistently, we can havebetter outcomes.
The other way that I've beendealing with the issues is

(11:39):
through songs, is through music.
William Murphy's songs reallyhelped me yesterday, especially
You Are My Strength.
That's one of my favorite songs, but there were other songs
like Your Love, same Grace, settle Here.
Praise Is What I Do and It'sAlready Getting Better.

(12:02):
All I can think about, all Icould see, was me coming out of
this situation.
Because of what I wasprocessing the word of God and
the music that was feeding me.
It inspired me to deal withwhat I was going through

(12:23):
differently And, to be honest, that's how I'm going to deal
with the life going forward.
So, I talked about the process.
I talked about dealing with it.
Now I want to talk about havinga better outcome.
As I stated earlier, we don'tcontrol life.

(12:43):
We don't know when we're goingto have a great day or when
something's going to come andturn our lives upside down.
We can prepare for great days, just like we can prepare for the
days that are not so great, butI really believe that seeing
beyond where you are trulyseeing beyond where you are

(13:10):
prepares us for better outcomes.
Anything that takes our visionaway, our focus away from God
could be the difference betweena positive outcome or a negative
outcome, a better outcome or adevastating outcome.

(13:33):
We get to choose.
We can choose to be silent, rooted and steadfast and believe
and trust God, or we could justgo along living in life, taking
whatever life gives us.
We get to decide if we want togo through life in a defeated

(13:58):
manner or if we choose to gothrough life with our heads held
high, knowing that God isfaithful and true, believing
what His Word says, so that wecan experience better outcomes
more often than we have negativeoutcomes.

(14:20):
We can choose to slow it downby studying the Word, by praying
, by believing what we read, byliving what we read and by
applying it so that we can dealwith life better, so that we can

(14:43):
have better outcomes.
Now, please note, I'm notpromising you that every time
you deal with something, it'sgoing to be just the best
outcome.
No, some outcomes are designedto be bad for us, because it's
those bad things that works forour good.

(15:04):
It's the bad that works in ourbehalf as good.
So, I can't promise you thatevery outcome will be the best
outcome, but what I canencourage you to do is to see
beyond where you are.
Let your mind, let your vision, let your imagination take you

(15:30):
places that you've never thoughtyou would be, so that the rest
of you can follow.
You've been listening to SeeBeyond Where You Are with C.
Bond.
Until next time, remember, there's more than one way for
you to See Beyond Where You Are,but your job is to figure out

(15:55):
which way works best for you andapply it.
