Andrew (00:13):
welcome everyone to
seeking season two seeking
season two.
Seeking season two.
Take two.
We started this once before, then we got divorced, then we
got divorced.
Now we're now we're rebooting,we're doing a reboot of seeking
(00:34):
season two, so now it's backit's seeking season.
Two's season, two season two ofseeking season two.
Yeah, but this is just thetrailer of seeking season two,
so it's not even it's theseeking trailer of Seeking
Season 2.
So it's not even it's theSeeking trailer of Season 2 of
Seeking Season 2?
.
Catherine (00:47):
Desperately Seeking.
Andrew (00:47):
Season, desperately
Seeking Season 2?
Yeah, yes.
So this podcast is all aboutthose fantastic TV shows that
only got one season and reallydeserved at least another season
, if not, if not more.
Catherine (01:03):
Like Firefly.
Andrew (01:05):
I knew you were going to
bring that one up.
That's.
That's the one that everybody,I think, brings up first is is
firefly accurate right, whatelse?
What are some of the other onesI'm trying to remember?
Catherine (01:16):
we have a whole giant
list of oh well, you, let you
your pick julie and the phantomsoh my god, I mean there was
like a whole online campaign toget a second season of julie and
the Phantoms.
Oh my God, I mean there waslike a whole online campaign to
get a second season of Julie andthe Phantoms because that show
was fantastic and it ended on acliffhanger, and now we'll never
know.
Andrew (01:30):
Don't you?
I?
I hate when they do that thecliffhangers and then it's like
not knowing they're going to geta season two and they do a
cliffhanger and it just reallyjust messes with the whole
audience.
Yeah, but some of the otherthings on this so firefly
obviously is one that thateveryone talks about for me,
freaks and geeks- yeah I'm stillshocked that only got one
(01:51):
season, my so-called life yeah,oh, that's another really good
right there's some good ones onhere, but we are going to talk
about in our season one two it'stechnically season one
technically season one.
Catherine (02:08):
We only got through
one episode of we never well,
because oh did that never get, posted.
Andrew (02:12):
Never even got aired oh
well, it might have gotten aired
, but what happened was I wasdoing the free, the free version
of buzzsprout, and after 90days the episode's deleted, so
they don't even exist anymoreafter 180 days, we got divorced
wow, so this is season one, the,the new season one, because the
(02:36):
other season doesn't exist.
It's it's like the unairedpilot.
Yes, there's the unaired pilotof Seeking Season 2 podcast that
you will never find except onmy external hard drive, because
we can't find it either.
No, it's on my external harddrive.
I have the episode.
We just never aired.
It Got it.
So we are going to talk about?
Well, let's talk aboutourselves first.
(02:57):
So why don't you introduceyourself to the audience?
I'm Catherine.
Hi Catherine.
Catherine (03:01):
Hello, who are you?
Andrew (03:03):
I'm your ex-husband.
Catherine (03:04):
Yeah, you are.
Do you have a name?
Andrew (03:06):
My name is Andrew.
Oh, hello Andrew, helloCatherine.
Catherine (03:09):
How's it?
Andrew (03:09):
going, it's going great.
Catherine (03:11):
Awesome.
Glad to hear it.
Andrew (03:12):
Yes, so we are your
hosts.
No-transcript.
Motion picture, moving image, silver screen, small screen, all
those things, things I canwatch in my living room.
Sunscreen, not sunscreen.
Catherine (03:33):
I'm a fan of
sunscreen I mean, I'm a fan of
sunscreen but I'm not a fan ofbeing at the beach or anything.
So you know, not needingsunscreen, not generally.
I'm an indoor.
Andrew (03:41):
I'm an indoor cat there
you go, so we.
So we are going to this season.
Season one, we're going to talkabout the amazing show that I
actually have never seen.
Did you watch any of it?
Catherine (03:54):
I don't think.
Well, maybe.
Andrew (03:58):
I don't remember.
I remember being on.
Catherine (04:00):
I feel like I've.
Andrew (04:02):
I vaguely feel like I've
seen some of it.
Catherine (04:04):
Yeah, I vaguely feel
like I've seen some of it.
Yeah, Like well, we justwatched the trailer for it and
the whole like hearing things, something telling her to do
things, does seem very, veryfamiliar.
Andrew (04:16):
Yeah, I know I didn't
watch the whole series, but I
may have caught bits and piecesof it.
Yes, so Wonderfalls.
Let's talk a little bit aboutWonderfalls.
Yes, created by I don'tremember his name.
Brian Fuller.
Catherine (04:30):
Thank you.
Andrew (04:31):
So Brian Fuller is the
creator of Wonderfalls, creator
of one of my other favoriteshows which did get more than
one season Pushing Daisies,great show.
Also the creator of Star TrekDiscovery.
Catherine (04:45):
Yeah, I had no idea.
Andrew (04:46):
Had no idea.
No idea, I mean, I knew, but Imean like I didn't put two and
two together, that like thatbrian fuller.
Catherine (04:53):
So you thought it
might be the other brian fuller
you know the the other, brianfuller the other, brian fuller,
you know sure brian q fullerexactly no, but like I was such.
Andrew (05:05):
I mean we were both big
fans of pushing daisy, such a
such a great show.
Yeah, and lee pace, the, thelead actor on pushing daisies,
was in wonderfall.
So we will.
We will get to talk about thathandsome, handsome little devil.
Catherine (05:17):
I was going to say
and uh, is is, and was very hot
yeah, he is.
Andrew (05:21):
He is a good looking,
good looking dude and the lead
actress, caroline.
Catherine (05:30):
Deverna.
Andrew (05:30):
Deverna, who is in
Hannibal, which is another Brian
Fuller production.
So he's another one that bringsalong his favorite actors and
actresses from previous showsinto newer things.
Catherine (05:44):
Which is very Joss
Whedon of him.
But unlike joss whedon, I don'tthink brian fuller has been
canceled I don't think so, notyet, at least I hope not.
Andrew (05:54):
No, because he just did
star trek discovery.
So, yeah, he's still, he'sstill a-okay, he's okay, he's
okay, so wonderful.
So there, there's a whole bunchof different people that show
up in here.
I was saying Tracy Toms, yep, Iwas reading something that
maybe Nick Offerman shows up inan episode or something
Interesting.
So there's going to be some.
(06:14):
I think there's some randompeople that just show up in
episodes, I mean because this is2004.
So this is 20 years ago, 20years ago.
Yeah, now that we're talkingthat, this show has been on.
Catherine (06:25):
God, my youth, my
knees were so great back then.
Andrew (06:28):
Right yeah, the good old
days.
Catherine (06:31):
Yeah.
Andrew (06:32):
So I'm trying to think
of yeah, who else is in this?
Oh, who was the other one I wasjust talking about, the one
that's married to Emerson,Michael Emerson.
Catherine (06:45):
Yeah, I know.
Now I'm not going to rememberher name anymore.
Andrew (06:48):
Terry Preston.
Catherine (06:48):
Thank you.
I had it immediately when youasked the last time and now.
Andrew (06:51):
I'm just like huh, I
know, that's why I went to you
with this one.
Catherine (06:55):
I mean, I literally
watched Elspeth this morning.
Andrew (06:57):
I'm like you just
completely blanked this time.
I'm like, okay, so, yeah, soshe's in some episodes there.
There's a bunch of other people.
Let me, I had it up.
I want to see who else is inthis.
Yeah, tracy toms.
Um, yeah, lee pace.
Obviously william sadler who'sthat?
Catherine (07:17):
oh, I do know who
that is.
He was on roswell, wasn't?
He Was William Sadler on.
Andrew (07:26):
He was.
I remember him best.
So a couple of things.
What else is I know?
The one thing I'm going tomention, I know what you're
going to mention.
What's that Because?
Catherine (07:38):
it's going to be.
You sank my battleship.
Andrew (07:41):
No, that's not what I
was going to say.
Oh, he was one of the guards in, or he was one of the guards in
, or a prisoner.
He was one of the prisoners inShawshank Redemption.
William Sadler was in ShawshankRedemption.
He also played Death in twoBill and Ted movies.
So good.
Yes, he's just fantastic.
(08:05):
So he's in this.
Let's see who else is.
I mean, was he?
Catherine (08:11):
not on Roswell, I
thought for sure he was Okay
good.
Andrew (08:14):
He was on Roswell 61
episodes of Roswell 61 episodes.
I thought he was a maincharacter.
Catherine (08:18):
Oh my goodness, yeah,
I'm pretty sure he was the dad
and a cop and, oh yeah, television Without Pity,
formerly Mighty Big TV, formerlyDawson's Rep, referred to him
as Pornstache.
Andrew (08:34):
Pornstache Interesting.
Catherine (08:36):
Because he had a
mustache that porn actors would
have.
Andrew (08:40):
I see, and who else?
Some of the other people.
Oh, I was saying Jewel Stateshows up for four episodes
apparently.
So there's a couple other good, couple other good, good, uh
good people showing up in thereand we'll see who else shows up
in these episodes.
It only got 13 episodes, so itwas probably, was it?
Catherine (08:59):
I'd have to do some
more research and we'll do that
for for episode one, but maybeit's a mid-season replacement uh
, there are seven unairedepisodes on the dvd set that
arrived here so it might havegotten a full season order, and
then they didn't air the wholeseason Because it seems like
there are 20 episodes.
Are there 20 episodes?
Andrew (09:21):
Okay, so there were 13
episodes Yep, only four were
aired.
From what I recall reading, there was only four aired.
Yep, that seems right, becausethis says including nine that
never aired right, but then Ithink apparently some some
station up in canada like pickedit up and like aired the whole
season up in canada, if I recallcorrectly, but in in the uS,
(09:47):
yeah, there was only fourepisodes aired, which was really
, really disappointing.
Criminal Wonderfall is thecomplete viewer collection.
I'm really looking forward toall 13 episodes, including nine
that never aired.
Catherine (10:06):
Which would be
consistent with four having
aired.
Andrew (10:08):
Correct.
That's math.
That is math.
Boom.
Who says you're not good atmath?
Everyone, I say A documentary.
We'll have to watch thedocumentary.
Catherine (10:22):
And there's all sorts
of commentary, I believe.
Andrew (10:26):
Oh, yeah, oh, and a
music video, hello.
Oh, this should be fun.
Catherine (10:30):
Yeah.
Andrew (10:31):
Excellent.
So we're we're going to watchall 13 episodes, comment on
every single one of them and wewill go from there.
Catherine (10:40):
Yeah.
Andrew (10:42):
You know I would.
I would love to hear otherpeople's opinions on shows that
they feel got canceled after oneseason and deserve a second
shot.
And we've got a whole long list.
Clerks, the animated series.
Catherine (10:58):
Constantine.
Andrew (10:59):
Constantine.
Catherine (11:00):
That's a great show.
Andrew (11:01):
Yeah, moonlight.
Catherine (11:03):
The Lone Gunman.
Andrew (11:05):
The Lone Gunman.
I really want to watch thatseries again.
I mean they were the spinofffrom the X-Files Because they
were featured in many episodesof the X-Files and finally got
their own series andunfortunately it didn't quite
take.
Forever, Ooh, I always thoughtForever got more than one season
(11:27):
.
I felt like it was aroundlonger than that.
It felt like Forever it did.
Catherine (11:30):
I thought forever got
more than one season, like I
felt like it was around longerthan that.
It felt like forever it did.
And it's funny because I I justsaw um and I can't possibly
pronounce his name correctly, but joan griffo is he welsh.
Andrew (11:45):
He is welsh and welsh
names are difficult, but he was
just on elsbeth last week.
Oh, was he really?
Yes, oh, very cool.
Catherine (11:51):
Yeah, elsbeth is
great because every week is a
different very well-known actorin the murderer role.
Andrew (11:59):
In the murderer role,
but he was actually not the
murderer.
Catherine (12:01):
He witnessed the
murder, he witnessed the murder.
Andrew (12:04):
Mm-hmm Interesting.
And who was the person thatjust?
Was that the one that you sentme?
It was Rob Mc, and who was theperson that just is?
It?
Was that the one that you sentme, it was rob mcclure.
Catherine (12:13):
The one was that he's
the one that died.
Yeah, and, and matthewbroderick was the murderer
excellent yes um, yeah, I meanrob mcclure isn't well enough
known, I guess to be themurderer.
Andrew (12:22):
He was the victim well,
that's, that's all right.
It's a step up from svu deathby his cat allergy.
Oh, yeah, um, other things onour list, the tick um battlestar
galactica, the original um,almost.
Yeah, there's a bunch of onhere, but I would love to you
know in in the comments on theseepisodes.
(12:43):
Please respond, let us knowwhat other shows you loved that
deserve a second season and andmaybe we will feature them on on
this podcast.
But but stay tuned for theofficial episode one of season
one, not including the unairedpilot of seeking season two, um,
(13:05):
which will maybe show upsomeday.
But check it out.
And again we'll be here, catherine and Andrew talking
about Wonder Falls.
Yay, we'll see you soon,everyone.
Bye, bye.
