Marith Iedema haar leven werd jarenlang versierd door seksualiteit. Totdat zij ernstig ziek werd en haar hele leven en seksualiteit veranderde. Marith en Nynke maakte eerder al een seizoen Op zoek naar Seksualiteit, waarin uitgebreid wordt stil gestaan bij hoe Marith seksualiteit ervoer voor en na het ziek zijn. Tijdens haar ziekteverloop schreef Marith een boek, Dubbelleven. Een boel vol erotiek, spanning en erotiek. Over een wereld die op dat moment mijlenver weg van haar bestond. Hoe was het om een boek te schrijven op basis van persoonlijke ervaringen, terwijl haar eigen leven zo anders voelt nu? Hoe ga je om met al die nieuwe ervaringen, waarbij seksualiteit niet zo makkelijk toegankelijk en vanzelfsprekend is, als zoals je eerder altijd hebt ervaren? In hoeverre is het boek fictie of autobiografisch? Kan ze zich voorstellen dat haar leven er ooit nog zo uit gaat zien?
