What if everything you’ve been searching for has always been inside you, waiting to be awakened? Join me, Linton Bergsen, for this episode of the Self Realized, Shatter Your Limits Podcast.

You’ll discover how to stop chasing symbols of success—money, recognition, and validation—and connect with the deeper feelings you truly desire: security, freedom, love, and self-worth.

You’ll explore how the greatest battle you face isn’t with the world, but with the inner voice that tells you to give up, and you’ll see how every outer victory is a reflection of an inner one already won.

By learning to live from victory rather than for it, you’ll awaken the power and worthiness that has always been within you.

Through practical tools such as morning rituals to align your mind and heart, using affirmations that rewire self-doubt into confidence, and mindset shifts that create unstoppable momentum, you’ll gain the clarity and energy to stop seeking fulfillment outside yourself and finally embody it within.

Everything you need to thrive is already inside you—the time to awaken the winner within is now!

Linton Bergsen (00:01):
Welcome to the Self-Realized Podcast with
Linton Bergsen, where you willshatter your limits.
I am not much into theself-help industry as much as
I'm into the self-realizedindividual, which is you, what
matters most to you, how you getthere and the obstacles that
may be in your way.
If you would like to be part ofthis podcast and part of that

(00:22):
discussion, I welcome you herewith an open heart, open mind
and open arms.
So, without further ado, let'sget on with the podcast.
Let me ask you something rightnow.

(00:45):
What if the life you have beensearching for isn't out there
somewhere waiting for you tofind it?
What if it has always livedinside of you, waiting for you
to awaken it?
In today's episode, number 114,Awaken the Winner Within, The

(01:09):
True Way to What You Want.
I am inviting you into an innerjourney, not just with words,
but with awareness,self-awareness, to awaken the
winner within, because the truestory to what you want isn't
luck, it isn't chance, it isn'thidden.

(01:32):
The true way is realizing,self-realizing for yourself,
which is the journey of theself-realized individual, that
the power you have been chasingis already yours.
Strength buried underhesitation, clarity hidden

(01:53):
behind fear.
In today's episode, you willstrip away all the illusions
that have been holding you backand find the path to what really
matters to you.
I would like to share with youa story from my life.
Many years ago, I wanted to beon a soccer team, as they call

(02:15):
it in the United States, or afootball team as it is known in
the rest of the world, and thisfootball team, as I will call it
, was being established in theschool I went to and I really,
really loved football and Iwanted to play on the school
team.
Now, I wasn't the fastest, Iwasn't the biggest and I

(02:40):
certainly wasn't the strongest, but what I wanted to do was to
play on that team and representmy school.
I was told by the coach and bymany of the players I would
never get on the team.
However, I was tenacious, Itrained hard and the coach could

(03:21):
not ignore my energy and myability to work hard on the
field to get the ball back fromthe opposition and distribute it
to my other team mates so wecould win games.
My coach took me aside one dayand said "You know I never
thought you'd make it on theteam, but you are certainly now
an invaluable part of oursuccess".
He said "Tell me, how did youcome up with that persistence

(03:42):
and tenacity to get on the team, despite what I told you and the
other team members, overcomingthe obstacles and the other
players, that you had to bebetter than to get onto the
team".
I told him I wasn't trainingagainst them or running against

(04:03):
them.
I ran against the voice insidethat told me to stop.
You cannot do this, and once Idefeated that voice, the rest
didn't matter.
This is where the winner lives.
This is how we awaken thewinner within.
Not in the scoreboard, not inthe applause, but in choosing

(04:28):
not to surrender to the voice ofdoubt, which the self-realized
individual understands forthemselves is a profound inner
journey to being a winner.
I want you now, for a moment,if you can, to do a reflection
exercise.
Right now, pause and think.

(04:50):
Where in your life does thatinner voice tell you to stop?
Think small, not big.
Give up.
If you can at this moment, write it down.
Don't censor yourself.
Awareness of the inner opponent,as I've mentioned in many
different episodes, is the firststep.

(05:12):
Self-awareness to awakeningyour inner champion.
Often we may think we wantmoney, success, recognition.
When you peel back the layers, what we really want is the
feeling that those thingsrepresent.
Security, freedom, relevance,love.

(05:36):
Here is the trap when you chasesymbols, you miss the real
thing.
Think about when you were achild and you had candy or
someone gave you a nice treat.
On the surface, the candy issweet, it fulfills you for a

(05:57):
moment, but deeper down, what isit that you felt?
Comfort, joy.
But what if you didn't needcandy and it disappeared and you
felt joy and comfort anyway?
Then that true want issatisfied internally by you and

(06:21):
not externally by something orsomeone else.
That is the journey of theself-realized individual and
that is how you begin to awakenthe winner within and the true
way to getting what you want, which is internal joy and
happiness.

(06:44):
Not always dependent onexternal circumstances.
It comes from loving yourself, appreciating who you are and
building a strong innerconnection between your source
of creation however you want toterm it, cosmic consciousness,
God and yourself, with a verystrong spiritual practice of

(07:06):
meditation, prayer or, if youjust simply choose to walk in
nature.
The key, connect with yourselfand appreciate who you are.
The battle isn't out in theworld, it is always within.
The outer victories.
The business won, therelationships earned, the

(07:27):
challenges met are simply proofsof the inner victory you have
already won and the challengesand adversity you have overcome,
to manifest those situationssuccessfully in your life.
Awakening the winner within, the true way to what you want is

(07:52):
established by acknowledgingthe stillness within,
celebrating yourself and actingfrom that place of power.
The place of stillness withinis important to recognize the
reason why so many peopleaccomplish impressive things yet

(08:13):
still feel empty.
They ran through life trying tooutpace the world but never
silenced the chaos within.
They were never operating fromtheir own true center and
authenticity.
They were operating from theworld's chaos and expectations.

(08:35):
The truth is, you cannotconquer the world until you
conquer yourself.
Here's a story I would like toshare with you as an example.
A warrior once trained for yearsto defeat his greatest rival.
When the day finally came, unexpectedly, instead of wanting

(08:59):
to fight, his rival offered himpeace.
If our battle is what you crave, look inside his rival said
"You want to fight me.
Today I offer you peace.
It is not me you want to fight, but your own storm inside, the

(09:24):
trouble in your own heart.
Conquer that and you will neverneed to fight me or anyone
again".
The warrior realized that therival was never the enemy, it
was his own doubts, fears, insecurities, ego, prejudices,
likes and dislikes.
They were in his own heart, creating rage that he wanted to

(09:50):
take out on his rival.
Once he found peace in his ownheart, everything else fell away
.
His anger, his prejudices, hisego.
He didn't want to fight anyoneagain.
He had nothing to prove.
He was at peace with himself, therefore at peace with

(10:13):
everything and everyone aroundhim.
The battle is always internal.
The victory is always won fromthe inside out.
That is a victory that you ownfor your entire life.
No one can defeat it and no onecan take it away from you.
You own it.

(10:36):
When you have time and you maynot be listening to this
episode, here's a practicalexercise you can do.
Notice one area today where youare trying to win external
approval.
Ask yourself what storm insideme is driving this, write it

(11:02):
down and bring the battle whereit belongs.
Inside.
Overcome it and let it go.
You don't need approval.
You are more than enough, created by a universal source of
energy that has given youincredible talent and incredible
abilities.
You are appreciated, you areloved and you are respected.

(11:25):
You recognize that.
You awaken the winner within, and that is the true way to what
you want in your life.
True winners aren't brutes,they're aligned.
Alignment means your thoughts, your words and your actions all

(11:46):
move in the same direction.
When you think one thing, sayanother and do something
entirely different, you arefracturing your energy, you
scatter your power.
But when your words havemeaning and your actions and you
align them, you becomeunstoppable.

(12:08):
It is a universal fundamentallaw and it is simply
non-negotiable.
Here is an affirmation I'mgoing to give you that you can
use to help you harmonize yourwords, action and thoughts
together.
And you can say it in themorning, when you wake up, night
time, before you go to bed, andrepeat it two or three times so

(12:32):
it truly absorbs into yourconsciousness, into your
subconscious, so you can reallybegin to use it as a practical
application in your everydaylife and reap the benefits of it
.
Here's the affirmation, sayaloud at first and then repeat

(12:52):
it more quietly, little bylittle, until it's almost a
whisper, and then silentlyrepeat it in your head as a
thought.
Here it is I choose harmonybetween my thoughts, words and
actions.
That's the affirmation.
When you say it, notice howyour body feels when you say it.

(13:17):
Now, here is an interestingbenefit from using that
affirmation and living by itthat alignment is what makes
your decisions effortless andresults rapid, because
everything is in sync.
Winners don't stumble intoalignment, they train it daily.

(13:42):
They choose clarity byreplacing self-sabotage with
consistency.
I am going to give you now whatI call the daily ritual of the
winner within you can use whenyou are not listening to the

(14:02):
episode, but you will have itavailable to build your mornings
if you so choose.
Wake up first of all withawareness.
Upon awakening, ask who do Ichoose to be today?
Then make a declaration, speakit out loud.
One truth about the winnerinside you.

(14:25):
Example I am resilient, myactions matter today.
And then you can take an action.
Before doing anything else, take one small action that
expresses that truth.
Send the message that you havebeen meaning to send.

(14:48):
Take the walk that you havebeen meaning to take.
Make the effort to have ahealthy breakfast or go to the
gym.
Just take an action and thenrepeat those actions.
Spaced repetition drivesbehavior change.

(15:10):
Daily repetition builds thewinner.
Not in fantasy, but in fact.
I'll give an example of how thatworked with a friend of mine.
For many, many years, my friendhad been wanting to be more
courageous didn't have a lot ofcourage really bothered them.

(15:30):
And so one day they made adecision and they said I am
going to be courageous today.
That is an action.
And when they made thatdecision and they made that
declaration, they decided tomake a phone call that they
wouldn't normally make.
They made the call.
That one call led to anopportunity that opened doors

(15:54):
for years.
It all began with a single actof daily declaration.
Here is an important truth Iwould like to share with you.
My suggestion and contemplateon this for a moment is that you

(16:15):
begin today to start livingfrom victory and not for victory
.
The major shift is this.
Most people live for victory.
They think when I win, then Iwill feel worthy.
But true winners live fromvictory.

(16:39):
They awaken worthiness first, and everything that follows
confirms it.
Contemplate on this for amoment.
Worth isn't earned aftersuccess.
Success is an echo of awakenedworth.
Contemplate this.

(17:00):
How different your life yourlife would unfold if you lived
every day from the truth.
I am already victorious within.
So here is the truth, my friendand we are all friends.
We're all connected in one wayor another.
Awakening the winner withinisn't about adding something to

(17:24):
who you are.
It's about stripping away thelies that told you otherwise,
the ones you've told yourselfand the ones that have been told
to you.
The way to what you want hasnever been out there.
That is the journey of theself-realized individual.
They understand.

(17:45):
It lives in this moment, inyour awareness, in the courage
to declare who you are and toact in alignment with it.
That is the true way and it isyour way, and it is yours now.
There's a powerful truth in allthat we have explored today.

(18:06):
The winner within isn't waitingto be found.
It is ready to be chosen rightnow by you.
Your next move, your nextrelationship, your next leap of
faith, they all begin with asingle conscious step.
Remember where you start.

(18:27):
A supportive friend, a job thatinspires, a partner who ignites
your best shapes where youfinish.
Stop waiting for the right time.
Everything that you need toawaken the winner within, the
true way to what you want, isalready inside you.

(18:49):
Light that fire.
Surround yourself with thosewho feed it.
Dare to begin boldly, becauseonly you decide the story that
your life will tell and thedirection that it takes from
this moment forward.
I sincerely appreciate youlistening to the podcast.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
