I'm into the self-realizedindividual, which is you, what
matters most to you, how you getthere and the obstacles that
may be in your way.
If you would like to be part ofthis podcast and part of that
(00:22):
discussion, I welcome you herewith an open heart, open mind
and open arms.
So, without further ado, let'sget on with the podcast.
Today, you are invited on ajourney most never truly embark
(00:46):
upon a journey that doesn'tsettle for just surface-level
wellness hacks but boldlyunlocks the foundation of your
lasting wellness itself.
This isn't about chasing peaceor happiness that can just slip
away.
(01:08):
It's about discovering andharnessing the power that
remains when you master thedance of opposites.
Duality.
Are you ready to discover thesecrets that most overlook?
If you are, in today's episode, number 111, Unlock Lasting
Wellness, 2 Essential SecretsRevealed.
(01:28):
I would like you to imaginenever having to fear that your
sense of well-being will crumblewhen life becomes turbulent.
When adversity arrives.
(01:49):
Imagine you can hold on to yourcontentment, clarity and
strength no matter what happensin your life, these essential
secrets are available to you now, and everything changes when
you unlock lasting wellness atits very source.
Let's take a look at this hiddenengine I like to call it of
opposites duality, life's silentarchitect.
(02:12):
Duality is not an obstacle.
It is the silent architect ofevery motion, challenge and
triumph that you will face.
Contemplate on this for amoment.
Imagine your soul as a mirror.
One side shines with joy andthe other with the shadow of
(02:35):
sorrow.
Two sides of the same coin.
The reflection isn't a flaw.
It is your soul's way ofteaching you that light and dark
must work together in order toreveal wholeness.
That in itself is anunderstanding of opposites,
(02:59):
duality.
Think of your experiences.
Hope meets doubt, excitementmeets disappointment, ambition
meets failure, rather thanfighting these pairs, lasting
wellness is unlocked when yousee both as necessary and
(03:22):
holding very vital lessons foryou to learn from, grow and
develop.
That is why duality is thehidden engine and silent
architect of your life, becauseit is where everything is built
upon and from, depending on howyou act, to the opposites that
(03:51):
present themselves to you.
Let me give you an example ofthat.
I was once working with a verycreative individual.
We'll just call her Emily andshe felt trapped between her
creative flow and her periods ofblock where things weren't
moving quite as freely as shewould like.
Struggling against resistanceonly drained her.
(04:15):
She had a phenomenalbreakthrough when she learned to
honor both the creative processand the block, the creative
surges and the dry spells, relaxing into the rhythm.
Her work deepened and her joyreturned.
Life has a rhythm.
In nature it has a rhythm hotand cold, daytime, night time.
(04:42):
As you begin to move with therhythm of life, everything
becomes more meaningful and youbegin to understand that you
need both, as we do in nature,to flow, create, to live and
express your true soul essence.
(05:02):
Contemplate on this question fora moment.
Why do we lose our wellness?
One of the answers to that isbreaking the cycle of chasing
and resisting.
If you've ever felt like you'rerunning all the time toward
things you desire and away fromthings you fear, you are
(05:24):
certainly not alone.
Chasing the good, resisting thebad, keeps you stuck on a
roller coaster, with wellnessalways just out of your reach.
Creation, as I mentioned amoment ago, itself begins with
polarity.
The very first breath that youtake when you are born begins
(05:48):
with polarity.
Inhale and exhale.
Every new beginning requiresyou to let go of something else
first.
Wellness is found in honoringboth the gathering in and the
(06:09):
letting go.
Let me give an example of anindividual that I worked with at
one time.
We'll call him Mark.
He spent many years trying toavoid criticism and seek
approval.
We can all relate to that.
When a project failed and hewas met with harsh feedback,
(06:30):
Mark felt it was unbearable forhim.
Mark felt it was unbearable forhim until he decided to see
both praise and criticism assources of wisdom.
From that moment on, Mark'scareer evolved.
He found a steadier sense ofself and satisfaction.
(06:51):
Ask yourself this question whatemotions or situations do you
constantly try to escape?
What would happen if youallowed yourself to experience
both sides fully for exampleacknowledging your anger and
what makes you angry and thendeciding to experience
forgiveness fully as theopposite of the anger, embracing
(07:23):
that as a true experience inyour life?
The first essential secret foryou to unlock lasting wellness
is awareness, self-awareness.
Not passive observation, butactive recognition, spotting the
dual forces in every situationand realizing that each part has
(07:45):
insight to offer you.
Taking a look at this from aspiritual perspective, imagine
the dance of your heart's templewith two guardians at its door,
passion and peace.
The spiritual journey isn'tabout choosing one, but letting
(08:05):
both guide you.
The self-realized individualunderstands that at the deepest
level, transforming turbulenceinto profound stillness and
inspired action.
It's important to feel passionabout something, but then you
have to find a peaceful placewithin you as well, an intuitive
(08:27):
place to receive the guidanceas what you would like to do
with the passion, the purpose, the driving force that you're
feeling.
They both serve each other.
The most important words areinspired action from that quiet
(08:48):
place of intuition to guide yourpassion.
Here's an exercise that I'mgoing to give you that you can
use to try to spot the dualityin your life and find a way to
make it useful on an everydaybasis.
At the end of each day, Isuggest you jot down a moment
(09:12):
when you noticed conflictingfeelings, for example, a desire
to connect and the need forsolitude, pride versus humility,
joy versus sadness.
When you begin to acknowledgeand name both sides of the
(09:33):
duality that you experience, youwill find that your mind begins
to calm down and you can beginto broaden your perspective and
contemplate how you're going towork with each one of those in
your life on a daily basis, howyou choose to experience them,
(09:56):
how you choose to learn fromthem, how can they be of service
to you?
Because you will go throughthis life, I will go through
this life consistentlyexperiencing opposites.
Duality, it is how we choose tointeract with them, name them
and use them positively, as I'vementioned earlier, to become
(10:22):
the architects and buildingblocks of our life.
Let me give an example of that.
I was working with John, theowner of a rather large company
and he had to give a speech andpresentation to the organization
.
Now, contrary to popular belief, you would think that CEO's or
(10:46):
people who own companies don'tfeel excitement and dread before
giving a speech.
They do.
You may be aware that publicspeaking is one of the most
feared things by manyindividuals, but through
awareness, self-awareness, hesaw his nerves and anticipation
(11:07):
as partners in his own growth.
The duality gave him presenceand authenticity on stage.
When you embrace duality in yourlife, when you acknowledge it
and begin to work with it, youbecome more authentic because
you are acknowledging the trueessence of your soul, how you
(11:30):
are designed.
You live in a world of duality.
You experience both.
Acknowledging both gives youauthenticity, it gives you
vulnerability, it gives you theopportunity to open your spirit,
your mind, your body to alltypes of input and awakenings
(11:53):
that you can do no other way, which is an intricate part of
the journey to your ownself-realization and becoming a
truly self-realized individual.
Let's take a look now at thesecond secret to be revealed in
today's episode the power ofconscious response.
(12:16):
The second essential secret isthe ability to choose
consciously rather thanreactively.
That is a very, very importantpoint to absorb within your
consciousness.
When duality shows upfrustration with work versus
inspiration from a new idea, love for someone versus the need
(12:41):
for boundaries the door tolasting wellness opens through
your decisions in those moments, contemplate on this for a
moment.
Imagine your life as a riverflowing between banks of safety
and adventure, comfort andchallenge.
For you to awaken spirituallyis to float between letting each
(13:06):
current shape your evolution.
I'm going to give you anexercise I suggest that you can
use when strong emotions orconflict arises in your life.
Pause for a moment, take justthree slow breaths.
Ask yourself what are the twoforces at work here.
(13:31):
Choose an action or a responsethat honors both sides.
For example, address a conflictdirectly but with compassion.
In my own life, I will give youan example.
I am constantly dealing whenworking with individuals,
(13:54):
personally or professionally, togive feedback.
Sometimes the feedback can betough.
A lot of people fearconfrontation.
I have made a conscious choiceembraced it, when having those
difficult conversations I see itas an opportunity a birthplace
(14:17):
for deeper trust and growth, forboth myself and the people that
I'm working with.
Let's take a look how dualityaffects our everyday life,
starting out with relationships.
Partnerships are a dance ofopposites, support and challenge
(14:37):
, similarity and differences.
I'll give you a story about Jenand Michael and they were
newlyweds and they foundthemselves arguing over finances
.
One valued security, the otherspontaneity, when each voice was
honored and respected.
T They came up together with acreative solution and the
(15:03):
connection between them bothdeepened.
Let's look at duality in thedomain of work and passion.
Professional fulfillment comesfrom knowing when to push and
when to rest.
Never overdo it.
If you're on a project and youhave to meet deadlines, know
(15:27):
that productivity only occursalso when you have time for
restoration.
It's not just productivity.
There's a duality happeninghere with your need to
acknowledge that you areactually more productive when
you have time to restoreyourself, when you have rest.
(15:48):
By balancing your ambitionswith your downtime, you'll find
your passion for your projectsreturn and, more importantly,
your passion for life remainssustained, with the right rest
to boost your productivity, unlocking your sense of lasting
(16:09):
wellness.
Let's take a look at health.
Health flourishes when progressand setbacks are both honored
and respected.
If you're working out and goingto the gym and you're not
always making the progress thatyou would like, accept it.
Accept that there may be daysthat you need to rest, that you
(16:30):
need to reflect upon what you'redoing.
Give yourself some self-respect.
Slow down.
Honor your accomplishments andaccept your slow days.
Have some patience andself-respect for yourself, for
all that you are doing to tryand improve your health.
(16:50):
Honoring yourself is a keycomponent to unlocking lasting
wellness within your entirebeing.
Always honor, respect andremember how special and unique
you truly are.
Sometimes the world can haveyou doubt that you are created
(17:15):
from a divine source of energythat loves you, supports you and
takes care of you.
Acknowledging that, cultivatingthat in whatever spiritual or
religious way you choose God,cosmic consciousness it is
important to develop, sustainand hold very close to your
(17:41):
heart for your lasting wellness.
Let's discuss together now somepractices for unlocking lasting
wellness.
Going a little bit deeper.
Try this meditation, obviouslywhen you're not listening to the
podcast.
Visualize a challenge withduality that you have with each
(18:05):
breath imagine oppositesoptimism, worry, action and
stillness merging together andaffirm, as you imagine this,
this affirmation.
Every experience is a teacheron my journey to lasting
(18:27):
wellness.
That's the affirmation.
Say it with with meaning, repeat it and hold it deeply
within your consciousness.
It's important for you torecognize, in unlocking your
lasting wellness, there is avery strong spiritual part of
(18:47):
this, acknowledging your sacredinner temple.
I'd like for you to imagine inthat temple stand two pillars.
Acceptance and transformation.
Acceptance roots you in thepresent.
Transformation invites growthtogether these pillars support
(19:12):
your self-realization.
You can become very aware of howduality affects your everyday
life in everything you do.
Mindful movement is importantfor you to acknowledge when
you're out in the world, as youstretch or walk, honor both
(19:39):
strength and softness, the pushand the pull.
Growth is found in theirinterplay, in speaking with
people, the duality of dialogue.
Share experiences ofconflicting feelings with a
friend or partner.
Notice how the connectiondeepens when both sides are
(20:01):
accepted.
Gratitude allows you to haveexpansion of your spirit, of
your inner sanctuary, each nightthank life for pleasure and
discomfort, because they bothcultivate your inner wisdom.
(20:21):
Be grateful for them, honorthem.
I would like to give you somesuggestions now of how you can
integrate the secrets that wehave discussed today and create
and unlock lasting wellness inyour life.
For daily integration.
I would suggest you do this.
(20:41):
Create, if you'd like, a dualawareness journal.
Record daily your experiencesof the opposites in your life.
At the end of each weekcomplete a weekly reflection of
your daily experiences from yourjournal and begin to look at
(21:05):
patterns and review patterns andhow your interaction with the
opposites and the duality inyour life are serving you and
how they are not.
For example, if your response tocriticism is to hold on to it
and not let go, then try on anongoing basis to break that
(21:28):
pattern and let go of thecriticism.
Try and learn from it and don'ttake it personally.
Tough, I know, but that is thework and the journey of the
self-realized individual.
If you can share yourexperiences with a friend or a
(21:48):
family member or someone youreally trust once a month and
get some feedback and somesupport, then do that as well,
because in order for you to makewellness an enduring everyday
positive life experience.
You may want to share what'sgoing on in your life so you can
(22:12):
get support from the peoplethat you know truly love you and
that you trust their input.
So you can continue to expandyourself and your
self-development with thesupport that you need and the
inspiration that it can provide.
(22:36):
Unlocking lasting wellness doesnot begin with what the world
provides, but with what youchoose to see and how you act.
The two essential secretsawareness and conscious choice
are your tools to carry intoevery moment.
Duality is no longer your enemy.
It is your master teacher, theheart of your evolution and the
(22:59):
source of true, enduringstrength.
Remember each breath, eachchallenge, each choice is your
invitation to unlock lastingwellness and use the two
essential secrets revealed inthis episode.
Awareness and conscious choice.
