(00:46):
This is episode number 83.
Why Do You Fail ?
Your Setbacks to Success.
Isn't that exactly what we allwant to do?
Turn any setback that we havein life into success.
The question becomes why do youand I fail in the first place?
(01:07):
There's many reasons why we do,many reasons that we have been
told why we may fail.
You may have heard not having aclear vision, not being
disciplined enough, notprioritizing our time, not
having the right goal-settingprocess Many different reasons
as to why we may fail.
Not choosing the right peoplearound us, not being able to
(01:32):
continue on and persist atsomething long enough to make it
a success and not a failure.
There is a component, however, that if you look on the internet
, do some research, look onYouTube.
That is very important to beginto grasp, understand and put
into motion in your own life, tomanifest into reality what it
(01:57):
is you actually want foryourself.
That will allow you not to failas often, and actually is the
precursor before you make anydecisions about what it is that
you would like to do and notfail at.
What it is to begin to graspand get a very firm handle on.
(02:17):
Is this the reason a lot of usfail is because we care too much
about what other people think, what they think of us, what we
are doing and how it's going toappear.
We like to be liked.
We like to be accepted.
We want to belong.
(02:38):
Nothing wrong with any of thatexcept belonging for the wrong
reasons.
Being liked for the wrongreasons is only going to lead
you to failure.
It is going to create majorsetbacks to your success.
The reason I say that to you isthis your authenticity, which is
(02:58):
a word that is used a lot, isthe key to you being a success
and failing a lot less at whatyou do.
You're going to fail becauseyou're going to try different
things.
You will be experimenting inorder to succeed, to have the
success that you want in life.
That's just the way things work.
(03:19):
However, if you begin to setout on any goal setting process,
on anything that you want toset out to do, without a clear
vision of what is important toyou, not what is important to
anybody else, what matters mostto you, which is, in fact,
episode one, you are going to,without question or any doubt,
(03:43):
fail at what you're doing.
You cannot be a success atanything if you are trying to
please other people.
The background chatter of whatwould it look like to other
people and what will they thinkis going to affect every
decision that you make goingforward.
(04:04):
Why do you fail?
Because you're not in tune withyourself and what matters most
to you.
You have a brand.
The brand is you.
You are the person that isputting yourself into this world
with your own unique blueprint.
Why do you fail?
Because, a lot of the times, you are not able to own and
(04:31):
believe that who and what youare is the most important asset
that you own to put into theworld without an excuse for
being in the world.
The authority of who you are isyour authenticity.
Ask yourself this question whenyou think about why do you fail
(04:54):
?
Do you see yourself as anexpert in anything or wha t you
do in life?
Because when you become anauthority within your own self,
(05:16):
you automatically becomeauthentic within yourself.
Why do I say that?
Because only you own theexperiences that you have.
Only you have the knowledgethat you have.
Only you were born the way thatyou were born.
Thereby, everything that yousay, everything that you do,
(05:40):
everything that you are, comesfrom a place of authority.
Because no one can have theexperiences, no one can tell you
about your life, no one canshare with other people the
experiences you have.
Only you can, because you areauthentically you.
Thereby you have the authorityto establish your own
(06:02):
experiences and share them withother people and say to them
these are my experiences and Isay them to you with my own
authority.
Because no one can tell me whatit is that's gone on in my life
and the effect it has had on meand the effect it's going to
have on the relationships I amnow going to grow and nurture,
(06:23):
if I choose to, professionallyand personally.
We all bring our ownexperiences into our lives.
Therefore, by definition, youare your own authority.
Sometimes people will say theyare an expert at something.
And how did they become anexpert?
(06:43):
It's my experience and mydefinition of an expert that a
lot of times they arebook-learned.
They're book-read, they havestudied a book that a lot of
people have also read andstudied, and so they are
regurgitating that material andare now an expert at
regurgitation.
Well, I don't need expertsbecause I can read the book
(07:05):
myself and then call myself anexpert.
I can get degrees and callmyself an expert.
There are many doctors outthere who have many degrees and
certifications behind their name.
They are book-learned to alarge extent.
You go to a doctor.
They'll give you a prescription.
That's what they are taught todo.
They're not an authority.
(07:27):
They're an expert in theirfield because they've been to
school and they've been toldwhat the procedures are and how
they need to do them.
Who and what you really need tosurround yourself with are
people who are an authority intheir field.
Now, they may be book-learned,they may have degrees, but
(07:48):
essentially that is notnecessarily the only place
they're coming from.
They may have that to establishsome expertise and background
to work from as a foundation.
Essentially, they may overridesome of that book learned
expertise and establish theirown authority on a situation
(08:10):
from their own experiences.
Experiences give you authority.
Sometimes book learning justgives you an expertise that you
can quote.
From my experience in life, alot of times some of the very
best people that I have ever met, who really have given me the
(08:31):
best advice, they were giving itto me from their own experience
, their own authority, and theywere so sincere and so authentic
that I felt it within the depthof my soul.
It was something I could seewithin them that they owned, and
most of the times when I wentout into the world and applied
(08:54):
what those people had told mefrom their own experiences, I
got much better results thanpeople who were book-learned.
Why do you fail?
Because you have to know withinthe very depth of yourself that
you are going to live your ownauthenticity and own your own
(09:17):
authority in the decisions thatyou make, without considering
what other people may think ofyou and what you're doing.
Think on this for a moment Ifyou set a goal based upon what
it is that you really want andnot based upon what other people
(09:37):
may think of you.
The goal takes a differentmeaning because you're not
concerned about how it will bereceived.
You're concerned about theimpact it will have on you when
you begin to operate from thatparticular place in your life.
Begin to operate from thatparticular place in your life.
(09:59):
Failure doesn't have the sameimpact on you Because it's not
about people looking at you as asuccess or your ego being
involved in your decision making.
It's about your soul beinginvolved in what it is that's
best for you.
It is the God force, theintuitive sense that I talk
(10:21):
about so much in all thedifferent episodes, that is
talking to you.
Why do you care what anybodythinks?
You be the authentic you andyou will be surprised that you
can speak to people with suchauthority within yourself,
because it's your soul speakingloud and clear to them about
what it is you want to do.
(10:43):
Failure in the normal sense ofthe world means that you are not
living up to other people'sexpectations or what the world
would see you as or expect youto be, and that involves our
relationships.
That involves relationshipspersonally and professionally,
(11:05):
if someone is telling you whoand what you should be and you
are trying to fit into that moldand you cannot be what they
want you to be, you may feel youhave failed.
It happens a lot, right, yousee it a lot in life where
people are trying to pleaseother people and measure their
(11:28):
success or their failure by howthat person feels about them,
rather than how they feel aboutthemselves.
And are they in fact meetingtheir own inner calling, their
own inner sanctum?
That's you.
You're going to meet your owninner calling and your own inner
sanctum.
And what happens?
(11:49):
When you begin to do that?
You see that one of thesetbacks you had to your success
was trying to please a person amother, a father, a brother, a
sister, someone at work, yourmate, whatever the external
circumstance that presenteditself to you.
(12:11):
That you were using as ameasuring stick for your success
is a problem, because actuallyit's very difficult to measure
up to anyone's expectation ofyou, because they have their own
filters that they are beginningto put on you to say well, now
(12:34):
you are success.
Are you measuring success byfinances?
This is another measure of yourown life you have to take.
Ongoing is how do you measuresuccess and how do you measure
failure?
Is it by the world's standardsor is it by your own compass?
Is it by the world's standardsor is it by your own compass?
That's where your own authorityand your own authenticity comes
(12:57):
in.
When you sit by yourself, askyourself this question what do
you measure success by?
What's the number one thingthat you would say to yourself
you know, this is my success, this is how I feel successful.
(13:18):
Contemplate on that for amoment.
You may want to write thingsdown one, two, three of things
that would make you feelsuccessful.
We live in a world that isconstantly pushing us to measure
success by externalmanifestations, external
(13:39):
validations.
I am not saying that moneyisn't important.
You need money to live.
Is that your measure of success?
You can answer that yes or no.
The amount of money that youmake, the house that you live in
, the mate that you have, howattractive they are, how people
receive you, whether they likeyou or not If these are your
(14:01):
measures of success, it's goingto be very difficult for you to
constantly live up to all ofthose external circumstances all
of the time, because they willfluctuate.
You don't know tomorrow how muchmoney you will have.
You don't know tomorrow if yourmate will be with you or not
with you.
Why do you fail?
(14:22):
A lot of times it's becauseyour measure of success is
incorrect.
If you are searching forexternal validation as a measure
of success, you will alwaysfail.
It is impossible to haveexternal validation for success.
(14:44):
It's a setback that most peoplefall into as a trap.
The way you have success, in myopinion, is very simple.
You constantly work on yourselfto be able to have an inner
sanctum and sense of peace, asmuch as you can, and calm, no
(15:08):
matter what happens to you inlife.
You begin to train yourselfthrough different disciplines of
meditation, establishing a deepspiritual practice,
establishing a relationship withGod or cosmic consciousness,
whatever you want to call it.
It is a real relationship and alot of times we are living in a
world right now full of anxietyand depression and unhappiness
(15:30):
because people don't value therelationship of the spirit, of
the inner life, of the innersanctum, constantly looking for
external validation.
And then we look at the worldand we say well, how come people
who are successful still aremiserable?
Because the measure of successstarting out was external fame,
(15:50):
money, all of it, thinking theright marriage, the right mate.
No, that will never make youhappy, because a measure of
success ultimately is how happydo you feel most of the time and
here's the important part ofthis Most of the time, with you
(16:13):
standing in your own authorityas an individual.
So let's have a conversation,you and I.
If you are putting all of yoursuccess, the measurement of
success, externally, you'llalways fail, because you cannot
control external circumstances.
(16:37):
The only circumstances you cancontrol are internal.
Why do you fail?
My opinion is because a lot ofpeople are not putting enough
attention on the inner life.
They're putting it on the outerlife.
They're not spending enoughtime building a relationship
with what matters most, which isthe relationship with
themselves, the relationshipwith that which created them,
(17:00):
the inception of your ownreality, the intuitive sense of
that which is guiding you.
When you have that as a basisand an inner foundation, you
will find that success is notmeted out by what people think
of you, how much money you have,or who finds you attractive or
(17:21):
not.
You put on nice clothes.
You go out, people tell you howbeautiful you look.
That's nice of you to say, orwhatever people do in life.
It doesn't matter what peoplesay, whether they say you look
nice, whether they say you don'tlook nice, whether they like
you whether they don't like you.
That is a consistentvacillation of a pendulum
(17:42):
swinging back and forth.
You want to get that pendulumsteady in the middle.
That's what you really want tobegin to work on for success.
And when you begin to get thatpendulum steady in the middle,
you can begin to make some verygood decisions.
Now I'm not saying you won'tfail.
(18:03):
I'm saying you'll fail less.
But why do you fail?
It's because you're notspending the time.
It's because you're notspending the time enough time to
find out what it is that reallymatters most to you, and not
anyone else.
Where does your validation comefrom, and who or what are you
(18:28):
looking to give you permissionto be here living your true,
authentic life?
The answer to that question isno one but you.
You are going to be your ownpendulum.
Visualize this for a moment.
You are going to be the centerof your life and you are going
(18:52):
to swing into motion under yourterms and you are going to set
yourself back in the center, calibrate yourself, realign
yourself with self.
When you have a few failureshere and there, you're going to
set yourself up for success andtake those setbacks and utilize
(19:15):
them from a place of centeredrealization, self-realization,
centered self-realization thatis who you are going to be.
That is success.
Because, no matter what happensin this life everything is
(19:36):
going to swing to the left, tothe right, doesn't matter.
But the most important thing isthis is that you know that your
greatest power lies in the factthat you can take that momentum
and stop it at any time and findthat inner peace, center
(19:59):
yourself, get the informationthat you need before you move
yourself into motion again.
And you're going to do it onyour terms, not on anybody
else's.
You are going to be your ownauthority and you are going to
live with your own authenticity.
Because when you are authentic, you are trustworthy.
(20:21):
You're not pretending to besomething you're not.
Nobody's going to find you out.
And when you are authentic andno one's going to find you out,
you are a living embodiment ofsuccess.
Why?
Because you are sincere.
People can take it or leave it,but you're not looking for them
(20:43):
to validate you, because youknow who you are and you know
what your strengths are, and youknow that at any time you can
find your inner sanctum, thatsteady center point, before you
move yourself into motion, intoeach phase of your life and turn
(21:04):
each setback into success fromthat beautiful center point of
peace.
From that beautiful centerpoint of peace, intuitive
guidance, spiritual awareness.
That is a source of all theinformation that you will ever
(21:24):
need to overcome anything thatyou may have failed at.
Owning that true center pointand knowing you have it to go to
at any time the God force, thespiritual consciousness, the
awareness of something guidingyou on your path and using it
(21:49):
and optimizing it is, in fact, the true measure of success.
